Kobosko:

Coalition agreement coming soon, will be ready by the end of this week

- This agreement is coming soon. I think it will be ready by the end of this week. It should certainly be ready and announced before the first Sejm session. This is the assumption of all parties – said Michał Kobosko in RMF24.

- The vicinity of November 11th, it just begs for such an important fact as a very concrete announcement of the creation of a new democratic government in Poland to be made then – he added.

Kobosko on Entrusting the Mission to Form a Government to Morawiecki: An Impossible Mission

- This is an impossible mission. Prime Minister Morawiecki will not form any government in Poland this year, and actually, the main question is: what is this time needed for by PiS, what do they want to use this time for – said Michał Kobosko on RMF24.

07:54

Kobosko:

It's very good that Sawicki will serve as Senior Marshal

- I sense some attempt here from President Duda and his circle to try for a so-called compromise. That is to say, on one hand, he gives Morawiecki the mission to form a government. I'm pampering my own political camp, so as not to offend this very camp, God forbid. But on the other hand, he gives something, in quotation marks, he gives something to the opposition. That is, he anoints a representative of the opposition to play an important role for a moment, next Monday – stated Michał Kobosko on RMF24.

- It is very good that Mr. Sawicki will fulfill this role [of Senior Marshal]. Firstly, he truly has enormous experience as a parliamentarian with a long tenure in Polish realities. And secondly, we will avoid what, I don't want to say we feared, but we didn't rule out, that PiS, if this Senior Marshal came from the ranks of PiS politicians, that the Senior Marshal would try some tricks, some games, some further delay tactics, extending the session – he continued.

Szłapka on Entrusting Government Formation to Morawiecki: It's Humiliating for State Institutions That the President Opted for Such a Farce
- In my opinion, the only surprise in this case is that Marek Sawicki will be the senior marshal. I think it's a good idea. […] As for Mateusz Morawiecki […], I expected this from the very beginning. It is in a way humiliating for state institutions that the president decided on such a farce - said Adam Szłapka in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24. - The first [Sejm] session will be okay, but then this whole procession, that Mateusz Morawiecki is now forming a cabinet, then has an exposé before the Sejm. We know that they are 40 fewer there. Demotivated, nobody will particularly clap for him. It will look ridiculous - he continued.

Mastalerek:

In Spain, Tusk's EPP colleague, whom everyone refused to form a coalition with, was tasked with forming a government

- Donald Tusk probably hasn't been to Spain in a long time. I understand he's a big fan of Italy, he went there on holiday, but you don't need to be on holiday in Spain to know that on July 23rd, elections were held in Spain, and another party colleague of Donald Tusk from the EPP won these elections with 33%, and everyone refused him the chance to form a coalition. However, King Philip VI, according to custom, entrusted Donald Tusk's EPP colleague with the mission of forming a government, which lasted two months. Did Tusk then take his EPP colleague aside somewhere in Brussels and say: listen, old man, don't embarrass yourself, don't compromise yourself, what do you need these two months for? Give it up. Don't give yourself a chance to convince. And he had as many as two chances, because in September his candidacy was voted on twice, and after two months, in the second round, the socialists were given the opportunity to form a government - stated Marcin Mastalerek in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- And did Donald Tusk shout, travel, speak, mock then? No, that was the tradition in Poland, a good tradition. And from the president, we know what a good tradition is, and we should respect it, and the president decided - the Head of the Presidential Chancellery continued.

08:14

Mastalerek:

Morawiecki is Determined to Form a Government. He Wants It Greatly and Has Been Given a Chance

- Regarding humiliation – please look at Prime Minister Morawiecki. Did he look like a humiliated man yesterday? Prime Minister Morawiecki is determined to form a government. He wants it greatly and should be given a chance. And he has received it. On the other hand, I will ask Prime Minister Tusk: did Prime Minister Morawiecki look humiliated yesterday? Because I have the impression that it was quite the opposite - stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:14

Szłapka on Entrusting Morawiecki with Government Formation Mission: Duda Isn't Weakening, He's Discrediting Morawiecki
- In my opinion, [the moment Morawiecki delivers his exposé] will come, because they are really most concerned about time, for two reasons. First, money, and second, they, the PiS entourage, believe they are capable of destroying some materials that could prove they have broken the law - Adam Szłapka said in the "Piasecki's Interview" on TVN24. - Two: Mateusz Morawiecki has been convinced by this environment that he should use this time, and in my opinion, it's Andrzej Duda who wants to use it, because contrary to appearances, in my opinion, he isn't particularly weakening from this move, but rather discrediting Mateusz Morawiecki, and I must admit, in such a perfidious way that Mateusz Morawiecki has probably lost touch with reality and doesn't realize how grotesque the whole situation will look - he continued.

08:16

Mastalerek:

The President Will Not Change His Decision; It is Final

- The President will not change his decision; it is final. He appointed a candidate in his address, announcing who would be the first candidate for Prime Minister. This will be Prime Minister Morawiecki. This is an unchangeable and final decision. I think we should calmly wait for the vote - stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:19

Mastalerek:

If Kosiniak-Kamysz Had 1/10 of Morawiecki's Determination, He Could Have Been President in 2020 and Now Prime Minister

- If Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz had 1/10 of Mateusz Morawiecki's determination, he would have had a chance to become president in 2020, and now prime minister. It seems to me that such a chance, which he had in 2020, and now he had an even greater chance to become prime minister, might... - stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News' 'Graffiti'.

08:20

Mastalerek:

We Must Honestly Say Kosiniak-Kamysz is Incredibly Loyal to Tusk

- It was from the PSL milieu and various individuals associated with the PSL that certain probing questions emerged in the first few days: perhaps Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, but we must honestly say that Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz is incredibly loyal to Donald Tusk. Everyone would want to have such a loyal collaborator in Donald Tusk's place - stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Graffiti" Polsat News.

08:25

Szłapka:

This team will try to cement the justice system as much as possible. We will deal with it
- It is obvious to me that this team, with the President who is part of it, will try to cement the justice system as much as possible. But in my opinion, all of this will be reversible, a team of lawyers is already working on it, and we will deal with all of it - said Adam Szłapka in "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

08:27

Mastalerek:

The President Has No Plan for Delays
No, the president has no plan for delays. I think this will be done very efficiently. There are no such plans at all, nor is there any intention to artificially prolong anything. The president has spoken about this many times – stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

08:30

Mastalerek:

The President Will Want to Build a Coalition for Polish Affairs

- It is obvious that the President will want to build a coalition for Polish affairs, but it doesn't have to mean a governing coalition. It can, but it doesn't have to. Polish affairs such as security, energy security, nuclear power for example, energy transformation, or many other very important social issues, can be precisely the matters around which a broader coalition is built – stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:33

Czarzasty:

I liked Sawicki's nomination for senior marshal
- I actually liked Marek Sawicki in terms of this nomination [for senior marshal], because it cuts short absolute speculation about "political cunning" [...] it would simply be stupid for a senior marshal from PiS to appoint [someone] who managed six-year breaks - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM's "Morning Talk".

08:39

Czarzasty to Duda: You have potentially allowed for two to three weeks of cunning
- I understand that the President is, for the last time, repaying his obligations to the party that nominated him for president [by giving Mr. Morawiecki the mission to form a government]. Is this wise? I doubt it. Will it change much? I will tell you honestly, it won't change much, it will prolong the process by two weeks, perhaps three - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on RMF FM. - Many cunning individuals, Mr. President, will make some money based on your decision, it won't be enormous, but they will extend their notice periods from three months to a year or a year and a half, someone will sign a contract that will probably have to be rescinded later as an activity detrimental to the company. You have essentially allowed, Mr. President, potentially for two to three weeks of cunning - he continued.

08:45

Szłapka:

PiS is a formation that has done a lot of harm. Its weakening will only be better for Poland
- I am surprised that Mateusz Morawiecki got so deeply involved, that he lacks imagination so much. Because for him, the cost of this whole operation he got involved in will be dramatically high - said Adam Szłapka in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - A very strong disintegration will simply begin there. [...] This is a good process for Poland, to be honest. PiS is a formation that has done a lot of harm, and the fact that it will weaken - and I believe it will weaken - will only be better for Poland - he assessed.

08:45

Czarzasty:

Rotation Principle Will Also Apply to the Senate
- Firstly, I will state this clearly and firmly: it will not apply solely and exclusively to the Sejm. The principle of rotation will also apply to the Senate. Therefore, we are introducing the principle of rotation in both chambers - Włodzimierz Czarzasty stated in RMF FM. - On Friday, we will announce the rules for forming the presidiums of the Sejm and the Senate, and this principle, I am announcing it today, will involve the possibility of changing the Marshal of the Sejm or the Marshal of the Senate in the middle of the term - he continued.

08:52

Czarzasty on Legal Abortion up to 12 Weeks: Hołownia and PSL Are Blocking It
- Unfortunately, it is the case that due to the number of votes we received, we do not have sufficient clout to push through the issue of 12 weeks and this bill. The bill will be submitted, some within the ruling parties will vote for it, others will not. [...] When it comes to matters related to abortion, when it comes to matters [...] also related to worldview issues, they will be implemented when The Left has stronger representation in the Sejm - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on RMF FM. - There are two parties that are blocking it [abortion up to 12 weeks of pregnancy]. That is Mr. Hołownia and that is the PSL - he continued.

Świętokrzyska 36 – PKO Bank Polski Capital Group's New Unified Headquarters
PARTNER CONTENT Employees of PKO Bank Polski have begun moving into their new headquarters at Świętokrzyska 36, in the very heart of Warsaw. For several months, PKO Leasing, PKO Insurance, PKO TFI, and PKO Mortgage Bank have already been operating in the new office building. The new office building allows for optimal space utilization and adaptation to the changing needs of employees and the entire organization.
The pandemic has changed the way work is done and increased the importance of the hybrid model, which we apply at the bank. We also had to adapt the spaces where we work, and the new headquarters is the answer to that. Our goal was also to consolidate the central units and Group companies, which are currently located in different parts of Warsaw, into one place. I am convinced that the new space will foster even better synergies within the PKO Bank Polski Capital Group. PKO Centrum is an investment in employees, who are our most valuable capital. Due to the building's eco-friendly advantages, the move is also a significant element of realizing our ESG strategy – says Jolanta Wiewióra, Director of the Employee Relations Division at PKO Bank Polski.
The new headquarters provides 2,200 workstations, in line with the hybrid work model operating within the Capital Group. PKO Bank Polski is the sole tenant of the approximately 35,000 sq m building, which consists of two sections. The higher section – a tower – is 155 meters tall with 40 above-ground floors, while the lower section has 9 above-ground floors. The building will house, among other facilities, a conference center and meeting zones for employees. The bank's other headquarters location in Warsaw will remain the office at Chmielna 89. Watch the video: The investment is located at Świętokrzyska 36, in the very center of Warsaw, with excellent access to public transportation. It is one of the first buildings directly connected by an underground passage to the Rondo ONZ metro station. Interestingly, before World War II, one of PKO's central buildings stood at the corner of Świętokrzyska and Marszałkowska streets. A Building Friendly to the Environment and People The building has received the prestigious BREEAM certificate at the highest level, Outstanding, confirming its ecological and sustainable nature, meaning it has a limited impact on the natural environment. In Poland, there are only about 10 newly constructed buildings with a post-construction BREEAM certificate at such a high level. Certification assesses buildings based on numerous objective criteria and specific technical parameters, including construction materials used, energy and water consumption, and access to public transport. The office building features efficient lighting and temperature management, heat and moisture recovery from within the building, a greywater recovery system, and rainwater harvesting for watering greenery. All these measures reduce the office building's environmental impact, creating a healthy and comfortable working environment. See the eco-guide to the new PKO Bank Polski headquarters (PDF file) - click here Branch Modernization The bank is also investing in the modernization of its network – recent years have seen its transformation, including modernization, relocation of some branches to more commercially attractive locations, and a focus on a hybrid service model. This is partly a result of a trend observed by the bank for several years, with customers increasingly opting for remote channels over branch visits: online banking, mobile applications, and self-service devices such as ATMs and cash deposit machines. From mid-2018 to the end of September 2023, the bank modernized or relocated approximately 200 branches to more convenient locations. It is also investing in new branch formats that meet all customer needs in one place: advice, sales, education, and support in using remote channels. An example of this is Branch 19 in Łódź: https://media.pkobp.pl/130146-klienci-zmieniaja-oddzialy-pko-banku-polskiego.

Bochenek:

President Duda acted in accordance with the established constitutional custom, just like his predecessors

- If a law is in effect in Poland, then we should all adhere to that law, and that's how I interpret President Andrzej Duda's decision, who acted in accordance with the established constitutional custom. Exactly the same way his predecessors acted - stated Rafał Bochenek in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Salon Polityczny Trójki".

09:49

Bochenek:

Personnel decisions within the PiS parliamentary club will be made when the club holds a formal session

- Such decisions, when it comes to personnel decisions within the PiS parliamentary club, will be made when the club holds a formal session. Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak is a person certainly welcomed in this [head of the PiS parliamentary club] role by our leader, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński. Of course, such personnel decisions will be made at a formal club session - stated Rafał Bochenek in "Salon Polityczny Trójki".

10:38

Lubnauer:

The President is only doing one thing – prolonging the agony of something that has already ended

- We have a very clear declaration, I already have the impression that the PSL, which PiS is trying so hard to tempt right now… Morawiecki announced that he has always been a supporter of the abortion compromise and that in general, he practically protested there on those strikes together with women, which is a bit of my poetic license, of course. Czarnek saying that he actually, if PiS didn't exist, he would join the PSL. I don't know, he's probably waiting for them to send him a membership card, and what is the PSL doing. Not only by going to the President as part of the Third Way, Kosiniak-Kamysz clearly states that they want to form a coalition with Civic Coalition, The Left, Poland 2050, with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, but they are taking one more step, which I think is intended to close any theories that there are indeed activists who think differently. The highest body of the PSL, the National Council of the PSL, on Saturday unanimously passes a resolution that they want to form a coalition with Civic Coalition, The Left, Poland 2050, with Prime Minister Donald Tusk - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in the program “Sedno Sprawy” on Radio Plus.

- Pretending that there is some unreality, that 194 is more than 248, that they have any chance of forming a government, is a bit of a cabaret. What the president has done is only doing one thing – prolonging the agony of something that has already ended. The PiS government is already going down in history - she added.

10:38

Lubnauer:

Regardless of How Things Unfold, Who Becomes Minister, Deputy Minister, or Committee Member, I Will Definitely Focus on Education

- I think there are many people who would want to and could lead [the Ministry of Education]. I would certainly want the program that is the common program of all parties in the new coalition to be implemented - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer on Radio Plus.

- I would like any task that allows us to implement this vision of education, which we share as Civic Coalition, and also as a coalition of parties that will form the government after the elections. So, [I would want] regardless of how things unfold, who becomes minister, who becomes deputy minister, who is on the committee, I will definitely focus on education - she added.

11:21

Sawicki on Reaction to Role of Senior Marshal: Surprise, Then Satisfaction
- First with surprise, then with satisfaction [I reacted to the President's decision]. [...] I was invited to the President by the President himself, and after a conversation, after accepting [the role of Senior Marshal], the President included this information in his address - Marek Sawicki told TVN24. - With the hope that the first session of the 10th term Sejm will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution, tradition, and the Sejm's regulations, and I said that the President can count on that - he continued, when asked how the President motivated his decision. - There was not even a shadow from the President of any encouragement or talk of cooperation, but it seems to me that his decision stems from the clear stance of our joint Third Way club, when, long before the elections, in January, we decided that we would go to the elections together [...] and the main slogan was "Enough quarreling, let's move forward," today is a time when it would indeed be good for us to begin the 10th term without quarrels - he went on to say, when pressed whether the President was counting on "something more."

11:27

Sawicki on a potential coalition with PiS: There's no longer any discussion or deliberation, the entire PSL has clearly stated its position
- I am an old People's Party member who respects the legal order within the Polish People's Party, and between congresses, the highest authority is the National Council, and a unanimous resolution binds us all. There is no longer any discussion or deliberation here - Marek Sawicki said in an interview with TVN24. - It's not just me saying [a firm "no" to a coalition with PiS], but the entire Polish People's Party clearly stated its position on this matter on Saturday. [...] Hope dies last, and therefore, I do not deny them [PiS politicians] the right to hope - he continued.

11:54

Sawicki:

You don't refuse the President. I accepted it with satisfaction and assured him I would conduct the proceedings in accordance with the constitution

- It was a big surprise for me, but of course, you don't refuse the President. I accepted it with satisfaction and assured him that I would conduct these proceedings in accordance with the constitution, in accordance with parliamentary custom, and I will try to do it with dignity - stated Marek Sawicki at a press briefing in the Sejm.

11:59

Sawicki:

Such information will go to the clubs tomorrow, we will ask for the names of the candidates for secretaries

- Such information will go to the clubs tomorrow, we will already ask for the names of these candidates for secretaries, but above all for the secretaries of the inaugural session, because they also have a special role during the swearing-in and the protocol. All clubs will have the right to nominate all candidates for secretaries, while my role is to choose two - stated Marek Sawicki at a press briefing in the Sejm.

12:08

Sawicki:

Morawiecki Stands No Chance of Forming a Government
- This is the President's right [to entrust Mateusz Morawiecki with the mission of forming a government]. He could have appointed you, me [...], as Prime Minister, there is no constitutional provision as to whom he appoints. However, we know that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has no chance of forming a government and gaining acceptance in the Sejm, and thus a vote of confidence - stated Marek Sawicki at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- Therefore, this will be a doomed mission, and in the next step, the Sejm will indicate its own candidate for Prime Minister, and it will certainly be a successful mission - he continued.

12:22

Sawicki:

Club Consultations Begin Tomorrow at Noon
- Club consultations, which we are commencing tomorrow at noon, will serve [among other things, the issue of the number of Sejm presidium members] – stated Marek Sawicki at a press briefing in the Sejm. Asked whether all parliamentary clubs should have their representation in it, he replied: We will agree on this. I am not a dictatorial marshal, I am a senior marshal. I am here to organize the work of the Sejm for this first, inaugural session, not to impose my own will.

12:43

Polska 2050 Appeals to Morawiecki:

If You Have Any Remnants of Decency Left
- Yesterday, a disgraceful move occurred. President Andrzej Duda, under the guise of statesmanship, essentially revealed his true intentions for entrusting the mission of forming a new government to Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska at a press conference. - Before the President announced that he would entrust the mission of forming a new government to Mateusz Morawiecki, he had previously prepared a draft regulation regarding the rules of procedure for the Supreme Court and sent this draft to the Supreme Court for an opinion [...] and then this regulation, this draft, will land on the Prime Minister's desk [...]. The project entails President Duda reducing the quorum required to adopt a resolution by the combined chambers of the Supreme Court. The aim is to enable the annulment of the resolution of the three combined chambers of the Supreme Court, the one from 2020 in which three combined chambers stated that the neo-judges were not properly appointed, with a smaller quorum, namely 1/2 of all Supreme Court judges - said Jacek Trela. - Today, these neo-judges, constituting 1/2 of the Supreme Court's composition, will be able to rule on their own case and declare themselves judges. Such is the implication and the objective of this presidential regulation - he continued. - These are, of course, anti-state and unconstitutional actions on the part of President Andrzej Duda. [...] Instead of leaving with class, they are trying to leave with cash and positions, with power, cementing, wherever possible, a piece of the state appropriated by the United Right government over the last eight years. [...] Polska 2050 already has a team working on the first steps to restore the rule of law in Poland [...]. With such moves, Mr. Andrzej Duda has proven that he is not worthy of being called the president of all Poles and was never worthy of sitting in the Presidential Palace - Paulina Hennig-Kloska continued. - Today, we appeal from this place to Prime Minister Morawiecki: Mr. Prime Minister, if you have any remnants of decency left within you, if you have any remnants of honor left, your signature will not be found under this regulation. And history and the citizens will judge whether you rose to the occasion or if you once again played in the party orchestra solely for the benefit of your party's team - said Mirosław Suchoń.

12:46

Hennig-Kloska:

This is like giving the Prime Minister an impossible mission
- This is a bit like giving the Prime Minister an impossible mission. A person who, even in an interview, is looking for a majority by pointing to and nominating someone else as Prime Minister, because Prime Minister Morawiecki, in one of his recent interviews, frankly admitted that he is unable to head the government and receive a vote of confidence from the new Sejm, so he nominated Kosiniak-Kamysz for this mission. He should never have received this mission. This is either some kind of maneuvering within the United Right camp, because it is a mission doomed to failure, or it is precisely an attempt to do what we have been talking about, namely to extend the time for scheming and plotting. However, please note that this has absolutely nothing to do with the mission of holding the office of Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland or the President, but solely with the leader of one political group, which is trying, at the end of the day, to solidify power in an unconstitutional, unlawful manner - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska during a press conference.

12:48

Hennig-Kloska:

By making such decisions, the President raised his hand against the citizens' verdict, but also winked at them
- By making decisions like these yesterday, the President raised his hand against the citizens' verdict, which was delivered on October 15th. Citizens clearly stated, and nearly 12 million of them, that they want a change of government in Poland, but he also had to wink at the citizens. The choice of the Sejm Marshal, the senior marshal, is precisely such a wink, as he had to somehow cover it up, pretending to fulfill the role of a statesman, while simultaneously sending out a change to the Supreme Court's regulations. The President, clumsily, once again tries to show, to cover up the fact that he is breaking the Constitution. Today, we are explaining to citizens what the President's move means, among other things, to expose his intentions - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska during a press conference.

President Signs Decrees Convening the First Sessions of the 10th Term Sejm and Senate

- President Andrzej Duda has signed decrees concerning the convening of the first session of the 10th term Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the 11th term Senate of the Republic of Poland. The President convened the first session of the Sejm for November 13, 2023, at 12:00 PM, and the first session of the Senate for November 13, 2023, at 4:00 PM – the Chancellery of the President informed.

The President of the Republic of Poland also signed decrees appointing the Senior Marshals of the Sejm and Senate. Member of Parliament Marek Wacław Sawicki has been appointed Senior Marshal of the Sejm, and Senator Michał Seweryński has been appointed Senior Marshal of the Senate.

19:20

Arłukowicz to Duda: There's no option these proposals will disrupt the coalition's orderly takeover
- I would expect [from the President] seriousness and a state-oriented approach. Citizens, with an extraordinary turnout, millions of people, made a decision, standing for hours, sometimes until 2, 3 AM, that they are giving their majority, trust, and power to the opposition – stated Bartosz Arłukowicz on TVN24's program "Tak jest". - The President, who fits into all of this, gives a mission that is mission impossible. This is a mission that cannot be accomplished. Meaning, the President consciously decides to appoint Morawiecki as a candidate for Prime Minister, knowing that this majority will not exist. This raises the question of why he is doing it. The answer to this can be varied. Because someone told him to. Because maybe he wants to disrupt the opposition's plans, which will not succeed, Mr. President, there is no option that all these proposals will disrupt the orderly formation of the coalition that will be taking power in Poland – he continued.

19:22

Arłukowicz:

I See Nothing Good in the President's Political Future
- It's not for me to judge what the President is planning for himself. I can say what I see in the President's future, and I see nothing good. I don't see much space for the President's further political path in various international institutions or structures. I've been working in them for several good years and I know what kind of politicians end up there. They have to be politicians of compromise, well-debated politicians, politicians who can build support around themselves. The President does not belong to such people – Bartosz Arłukowicz said on TVN24.

20:01

Tomczyk on Duda's Decision: A Person Can Leave PiS, But PiS Never Leaves a Person
- I don't think [the president had knowledge that Morawiecki would secure a majority]. I think it's generally about the succession after Kaczyński, that this is already playing out [...]. If the president wanted to talk about some kind of tradition, then he unnecessarily conducted consultations on this matter, given that he knew from the very beginning how he would behave. It seems to me that it is indeed the case that a person can leave PiS, but PiS never leaves a person, and President Andrzej Duda, despite not formally being a member of this party, carries PiS's legitimacy deep in his heart and somewhere deep in his pocket – said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

20:02

Tomczyk:

No one will be broken; we have been agreed on governing together for many months
- I think it's shocking, what I'm about to say, for the people watching us today from PiS, meaning for PiS MPs, that people on the opposition side have a backbone. I think this is a very strange discovery for those in power today, for PiS MPs, for ministers, because for eight years they got used to having people around them without spines, not only in a biological sense, but also in terms of character. No one here will be broken. We have been agreed on governing together for many months - said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

20:04

Tomczyk on Morawiecki: Prime Ministers Worldwide View Him as a Premier Who is, in a Sense, a Usurper for These Two Weeks
- Every day with Mateusz Morawiecki as Prime Minister is a lost day for Poland. This government does not have a democratic mandate to govern; today, all foreign partners know this. He cannot negotiate matters concerning the KPO (National Recovery Plan) or cohesion funds today because all prime ministers worldwide view him as a premier who is not only stepping down but who has lost the elections, who is today, in a sense, a usurper for these two weeks - said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

20:05

Hennig-Kloska:

Hołownia Would Be an Excellent Marshal of the Sejm
- I believe there is a path [for Szymon Hołownia to become Marshal of the Sejm]. He would be an excellent Marshal of the Sejm. The Sejm faces extremely important goals, changes, and the rebuilding of legislative power, which has been practically trampled by the PiS government - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

Tomczyk on Tusk's Actions in Brussels: Let Morawiecki Learn
- It is a new standard that Donald Tusk, even though he has not yet been designated as Prime Minister, has already visited Brussels, paving the way for money to flow into Poland. I would like such standards to apply; let Morawiecki learn from this - said Cezary Tomczyk on TVN24.

20:08

Hennig-Kloska:

PiS isn't even trying to hold talks because they know it makes no sense whatsoever
- They [PiS] aren't even trying to hold any talks. They haven't called any of the leaders because they simply know it makes no sense whatsoever - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

20:11

Hennig-Kloska:

Morawiecki Has Been Placed in a Position of Facing a Vote of No Confidence by His Own Doing
- Mateusz Morawiecki has been placed in a position of facing a vote of no confidence by his own doing. I don't think anything like this has ever happened in Polish politics before - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

20:19

Sawicki:

I Treat This Mission Very Seriously

- I had no doubts [about accepting the role of senior marshal]. I consider it a huge honor, as I am not yet the oldest MP in the Sejm. There are a dozen or so people older than me, but starting the role of senior marshal is truly a culmination of parliamentary work. I would compare it equally to being appointed Sejm Marshal, so I treat this mission very seriously - stated Marek Sawicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's program “Gość Wydarzeń”.

20:20

Sawicki:

The Proposal We Presented to Voters Also Convinced the President

I think we still have a very negative narrative surrounding the Polish People's Party. There is a group of narrators who believe that the Polish People's Party is a turncoat party, and this is bad. A similar group says that the Polish People's Party is a centrist party, and therefore the narrative that one can form various coalitions is, as it were, justified – stated Marek Sawicki on Polsat News.

The President, it seems to me, is fully aware of the current social state of our country, as well as the state of political emotions, and he knows very well that since 2005, this dualization of the political scene has been escalating, and both the previous campaign and this one have been quite radical, not to mention brutal in many elements. And the proposal that we presented to voters, that is, from the Third Way, a moderate center club with the slogan “Enough quarrels, let's move forward,” it seems to me, has also convinced the President that this is the right time, with a change in parliamentary majority, to also give a chance to those who are moderate and can truly be a cohesive force in rebuilding the community in the future – he added.

20:21

Sawicki:

The President, as Head of State, Unnecessarily Tries to Impose Directions for Our Cooperation on Political Parties

- Unnecessarily, the President, as Head of State, tries to impose directions for our cooperation and our discussions on us, political parties. I will say that in the conversation I had with the President, I got the impression that the President stepped back from imposing directions on where and with whom we should cooperate, but indeed, the suggestions that resulted from this conversation are clear, that he expects a calming of emotions on the Polish political scene and that, among other things, my person, my experience, guarantees that at least the inauguration of the 10th term will have a character not only constitutional but also solemn and dignified - stated Marek Sawicki on Polsat News.

20:21

Hennig-Kloska:

There's no 'good tradition' of the president, at the last minute, presenting the outgoing Prime Minister with changes to the Supreme Court's regulations
- To do things like, for example, changing the Supreme Court's regulations and consolidating power. This is scandalous - Paulina Hennig-Kloska said in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts After Facts), when asked why Andrzej Duda entrusted Mateusz Morawiecki with the mission of forming a government. - The President, as the head of state, should ensure that power is transferred safely from one government to another, in accordance with the citizens' verdict - she continued. - There is no 'good tradition' of the president, at the last minute, presenting the outgoing Prime Minister with changes to the Supreme Court's regulations [...] and on this basis consolidating power in the Supreme Court, so that we, as the incoming government, cannot make decisions regarding what to do with the neo-judges who sit there - she stated.

20:22

Sawicki:

I Get the Impression the President Isn't Convinced Morawiecki Has a Chance to Form a Government Either

- I get the impression that the President also isn't convinced that [Mateusz Morawiecki] has such a chance [to form a government], and there are various reasons for that. The most important reason is that I believe the President feels it's not just a matter of his political affiliation, but also his personal relationship with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and that the President rather believes that, of course, the Sejm has the prerogative in the second step to nominate a candidate, and he made that clear in his address, stating he won't be an obstacle and will immediately sign off on that candidate, and will await the formation of a government by him - stated Marek Sawicki on Polsat News.

20:22

Sawicki:

I Expect Morawiecki to Inform Parliament on November 13th That He Cannot Form a Government

- There can be many scenarios. I expect that if the President entrusts the formation of a government to Mateusz Morawiecki, then Mateusz Morawiecki will inform the Sejm and the newly elected Speaker on Monday the thirteenth that he is unable to form this government and will hand over the initiative to the new Speaker and the new parliamentary majority – stated Marek Sawicki on Polsat News.

20:23

Czarzasty:

I believe that within the coalition, we will agree that each group will have its own Deputy Speaker
I believe that within the coalition, we will agree that each group will have its own Deputy Speaker - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the program "Kropka nad I" on TVN24. - We have agreed that both in the Senate and in the Sejm, there will be an opportunity to swap Speakers halfway through the term. As for the Senate, Civic Platform will regulate this matter, that's what we agreed on. Regarding the Sejm, it will be one representative from the Third Way and then one from The Left - he added.

Mastalerek on the Opposition: Ritualistic Outrage. It's Clear They Are Unprepared and Not Ready

- First and foremost, the opposition's reaction seems ritualistic to me. They are actually behaving as if they have to shout a bit, express dissatisfaction a bit, but in reality, they are acting as if it were somewhat convenient for them. It's clear they are unprepared and not ready. They don't have a coalition agreement, they haven't agreed on who will be the Marshal, they haven't divided the ministries among themselves, and I observed this as simply ritualistic outrage, but in reality, in my opinion, they are not ready - stated Marcin Mastalerek in an interview with Edyta Lewandowska on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:27

Czarzasty:

Mr. President, I speak to you as a man who may be old, but is somewhat experienced – don't do such things

- The President has certainly [harmed himself]. To be honest, in my opinion, it's not a sensible move, but I look with much greater distance and reluctance at what the President is trying to do with the Supreme Court regulations. Mr. President, I speak to you as a man who may be old, but is somewhat experienced – don't do such things. You don't notice what has happened in Poland, that a democratic change has occurred in Poland, that people voted against the things you are proposing – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad I”.

20:29

Mastalerek:

Three Weeks Have Passed and They Still Don't Have a Coalition Agreement. This is Starting to Remind Me of Their Talks About a Single List

- Three weeks have passed and they still don't even have a coalition agreement. This is starting to remind me of their talks about a single list, which they ultimately didn't create, or for example, the talks about the October 1st march, which the Third Way ultimately didn't participate in because they said they wanted to attract PiS voters, therefore they wouldn't go with Tusk, so that their potential voters, who might leave PiS, wouldn't see them with Donald Tusk - stated Marcin Mastalerek on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:32

Czarzasty to Morawiecki: You're Heading Towards Political Ruin

- Given Mr. Morawiecki's experience, he can go into battle, but I have a piece of advice for you, Mr. Prime Minister: you must know where you want to go, because you can run fast, but you need to know where. You are heading towards political ruin in this matter - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on the program "Kropka nad I" on TVN24.

20:34

Mastalerek:

If Tusk Had Been Given the Mandate to Form a Government in the First Step, They Would Have Been Up Against the Wall

- If Donald Tusk had been given the mandate to form a government in the first step by the president, they would have been up against the wall. He would have spoken to them from a position of strength. He would have already been the prime ministerial candidate, with the portfolio in hand, and would have approached the Left and Third Way. How much easier it would have been for him to negotiate with them, how he could have cornered them - stated Marcin Mastalerek on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:40

Mastalerek:

They Said They'd Be the Third Way, and Today, Before the New Sejm Even Starts its Term, It Turns Out They Want a Third Term for Tusk
A lot of voters, including former voters who cast their ballots for President Duda in 2020, have now voted for the Third Way. Because they were pretending, they said they would be the Third Way, and today, before the new Sejm has even begun its term, it turns out they want a third term for Donald Tusk. When people see what has happened, that they voted, thinking it would be a real third way, and it all ends with Donald Tusk, whom they remember perfectly from his two terms and his departure to Brussels for benefits and positions - stated Marcin Mastalerek on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

20:42

Mastalerek:

PO and Tusk Achieved Effectively the Same Support as Trzaskowski in 2020. Around 30%. He Hasn't Won Any Elections

PO and Donald Tusk achieved effectively the same support as Rafał Trzaskowski in 2020. Around 30%. He hasn't won any elections and wouldn't have taken power from PiS, nor would he have had even the slightest chance of taking power from PiS, had a portion of the votes not unfortunately been wasted – stated Marcin Mastalerek on "Gość Wiadomości" (Guest of the News) on TVP Info.

20:50

Mastalerek:

In 2015, TVP Didn't Show Komorowski's Main Opponent at All. As PiS, Being Unequally Treated, We Had to Walk Out of the Studio to Make a Statement

- I am pleased that after 8 years, or more than 8 years, I was able to return to the TVP studio, because I left this studio in May 2015. I wanted to remind everyone, when we talk about attacks on the president, that in the final stretch of the 2015 presidential campaign, TVP did not show Bronisław Komorowski's main opponent at all. We, as PiS, being unequally treated, had to leave the studio then to make a statement - stated Marcin Mastalerek on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:54

Mastalerek:

Civic Coalition Will Seek to Be a Coalition of Revenge

- Whether Civic Coalition, or PO, will truly seek to be a coalition of revenge, that is obvious. And they will strive for that, they announced it. That was their program, and they didn't gain a majority on that program; they gained as much as Rafał Trzaskowski did 3 years earlier. And they will want that. The only question is whether Third Way, whether Szymon Hołownia, or PSL, which said "no, no, no, we won't be like them, we will be the Third Way", whether they will behave credibly towards their voters, whether they will simply be joined in some way, or if they will join the coalition of revenge themselves, one could say a civic revenge - stated Marcin Mastalerek on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".
