Kaczyński, a Cat, and a Nokia: PiS Leader Sends German Chancellor Packing in #PodmiotowaPolska Spot

The latest spot from PiS (Law and Justice party) harks back to the style of "Ucho prezesa" (The Boss's Ear). The sound of a Nokia phone rings out, and a cat is shown on a windowsill.

Jarosław Kaczyński answers a call from the German ambassador, who wishes to connect him with the German Chancellor regarding "rentenalter" – the retirement age in Poland, which "should be the same as during Prime Minister Tusk's tenure." Kaczyński, who "plays" himself in the spot, states: "Please apologize to the Chancellor, but Poles will decide this matter in a referendum. Tusk is no longer in office, and those customs have ended."

The spot references a memo drafted in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister after a phone conversation between the then-Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Chancellor Merkel, revealed in the series "Reset."

Szłapka:

Duda Faces Political Responsibility Before the State Tribunal
- Today, no one questions Andrzej Duda's mandate. Today, I think what he most risks is political responsibility before the State Tribunal, and there is a reason for it. And I think Andrzej Duda is not sleeping soundly at the end of his last term - Adam Szłapka said on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:10

Szłapka on KO's 100 Concrete Proposals: There's No Handouts There
- There are things [on KO's list of 100 concrete proposals] that I like more, definitely more, there are things that I would probably sharpen even further, but generally, it's a complete change in the philosophy of the state. It's a focus on work, on entrepreneurship, on making things easier, but at the same time remembering that there are people in Poland who need help [...] it's what from a liberal perspective is extremely important: a focus on good public services - said Adam Szłapka on TVN24. - There are no handouts there. There is a focus on entrepreneurship, work, and solidarity. [...] There is a tax reduction, [...] cash-basis PIT, holidays for entrepreneurs - he continued.

Mastalerek:

The last weekend, the clash of conventions was a campaign restart, the beginning of the campaign's proper moment
  • So far, it's been doldrums, you're right. This extended holiday, in fact this weekend, the clash of conventions was a campaign restart, the beginning of the campaign's proper moment, and the political oxygen was entirely absorbed by the two largest parties. I can only wonder why Lewica and Trzecia Droga organized their conventions on the same day, because it looked like this. The horses are being shod, the frog is offering its leg. Where are you, little tiger, offering your leg, when PO and PiS are clashing – stated Marcin Mastalerek in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:14

Mastalerek on Tusk: For Now, He's Inflated a Bubble, and That's Enough for Him at This Stage

- For now, [Donald Tusk] has inflated a bubble, and that's enough for him at this stage. He showed that he has returned, that he seems to be able to say he controls the situation, that he has a certain idea, and he made a very good move for his bubble - stated Marcin Mastalerek on RMF FM.

08:14

Mastalerek:

Today it seems PiS has a great chance to govern independently again

- When we last met [3 months ago], PiS had a completely demobilized [electorate], the base did not believe victory was possible, and thanks to what happened, thanks to the idea of a referendum being put forward, as well as the focus on security, which was showcased during the large parade, PiS has returned and today it seems they have a great chance to govern independently again - stated Marcin Mastalerek on RMF FM.

08:16

Mastalerek on the Opposition: There's a Completely Different Plan There
I think there's a completely different plan there. They are not thinking about winning against PiS. It seems to me that the plan is as follows – first, to block the possibility of PiS forming a government. We are already hearing about talks, including secret ones, with Konfederacja to create a technical government. It seems that this is precisely why Donald Tusk is announcing that the elections were unfair, and in general, that they were presidential elections – stated Marcin Mastalerek on RMF FM.

08:17

Szłapka on Petru: He resigned from Nowoczesna, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him
- No, he did not receive [Ryszard Petru] [permission to run for the Sejm on the Third Way's list] blessings in this matter, he resigned from Nowoczesna [...] He is not a member of Nowoczesna [...] I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Ryszard Petru, he's doing a lot of good work when it comes to Konfederacja and I hope he takes a mandate from Konfederacja [...] It is important for us that the Third Way crosses the electoral threshold, therefore every person who helps them is worth their weight in gold. I hope he continues to do good things when it comes to exposing the absurdities of Konfederacja - said Adam Szłapka on TVN24.

08:19

Mastalerek:

PiS should prepare for Tusk to declare elections unfair the day after they are held

- PiS should prepare for the fact that the day after the elections, Donald Tusk will announce that the elections were unfair and will invite parties to conduct fair elections. That is why we must win these elections independently, and PiS should pursue three parallel policies. On the one hand, absolutely mobilizing its voters and maximizing its result; the second policy is to show that Konfederacja might join forces with them, and if they do, they will end up like Jobbik; and the third – an attempt to cleverly push Trzecia Droga below the electoral threshold – stated Marcin Mastalerek on RMF FM.

08:19

Kierwiński:

On one hand, the government frightens with migrants, dehumanizes them, and on the other, opens wide the doors for migration from Asia and Africa
- We have a situation where the ruling party frightens with migrants, tells terrible, unacceptable, dehumanizing things about them, and at the same time opens wide the doors for migration from Asian and African countries. The numbers we have shown, 240,000 invitations issued in the last 2.5 years, is something we have never dealt with before. If we add to this a very probable corruption process in the issuance of these visas, then I ask: what is this government doing? - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Mirosław Skowron on PR24. - We would pursue a very consistent migration policy, meaning we would assess the needs of the Polish market, know exactly what kind of employees, with what competences, we need, and from which directions, to be completely frank. It is not difficult to set up tables in front of Polish embassies in Asian and African countries and sell visas left and right - he continued.

08:22

Mastalerek:

Nothing Currently Indicates the Third Way Won't Be in the Sejm

- Nothing currently indicates that the Third Way won't be in the Sejm. While three months ago it was more probable they might fall below that threshold, today there's nothing to suggest that. This is because elections aren't just decided in the media or in polls, but primarily on the electoral lists - stated Marcin Mastalerek on RMF FM.

08:23

Kierwiński:

In recent years, the number of work permits issued to people from different cultural backgrounds has increased radically
- In recent years, this number of work permits issued to people from different cultural backgrounds has increased diametrically, radically. Did the PiS government anywhere specify what kind of workers we need, what are the strategic directions? After all, they are constantly scaring us with migrants from African countries, all the time. You have this rhetoric: we won't let a single one in, we will be tough. And what are the facts? Completely different - said Marcin Kierwiński in PR24.

08:25

Szłapka:

Wawrzyk is a Truly Significant Burden for PiS

- This is a gigantic scandal [regarding visas for migrants], and I think that when people see how PiS approaches migrants, Poland's security [...] it looks like a gigantic scandal, almost human trafficking, because it's like making money off of someone wanting to escape from somewhere, and on the other hand, putting Poland at risk [...] it looks terrible, and I think that the fact Wawrzyk was immediately removed with a bang, while Cieszyński was running around with respirators and is now the 'number one' candidate for the Law and Justice party, shows that this Wawrzyk is a truly significant burden for PiS - Adam Szłapka said on TVN24.

08:42

Bosak on Grabca's words: We will not support either PiS or Civic Platform's government
We declare our political strategy clearly. That is, we believe that neither Jarosław Kaczyński deserves to have his power extended, we assess that the power exercised is poor and the program being implemented is detrimental to Poles, nor does Donald Tusk deserve to return to power. We will not support either PiS or Civic Platform's government. We want political change, programmatic change, and a change in the style of politics. We say that Confederation is an alternative to this barren duopoly of both PiS and Civic Platform, because they are parties very similar programmatically, as we saw after Saturday's conventions - stated Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News' "Graffiti". They started to observe things that we say and do. This was visible somewhere in the middle of the current Sejm term. We started presenting a list of several dozen unfavorable tax changes made by the PiS government. I saw elements of this list, which we published on social media and our lawyers developed, in the Sejm speeches of Civic Platform politicians one day, that's how it started. But it went further - he added.

08:43

Bosak on Length-of-Service Pensions: If It's Meant for All Workers, We Are Decidedly Opposed

- If it [length-of-service pensions] is meant for all workers, then we are decidedly opposed, because it is de facto a proposal to further lower the retirement age, when we already have one of the lowest retirement ages in the entire European Union and we have dramatically bad forecasts from ZUS [Social Insurance Institution] regarding the amount of money for pensions - stated Krzysztof Bosak on "Graffiti" Polsat News.

08:44

Bosak on Raising the Retirement Age: Regardless of Who Rules Poland, It Will Affect Us

- I won't say no, because I want to be honest in politics. I believe that regardless of who rules Poland, it will affect us. That is, if people live longer and longer, if we have ever-increasing expenses, because expected healthcare standards are rising, healthcare costs are rising, who will pay for it - stated Krzysztof Bosak on the Polsat News program “Graffiti”.

- Primarily, as a man, I have a big problem with the fact that we have such a huge difference in retirement age between women and men. Women live longer, retire earlier, which statistically causes women to receive lower pensions, but additionally, and above all, it causes them to spend a significant part of their lives unfortunately in retirement rather than being professionally active. This is where I have the biggest problem, and I wonder what causes it. Traditionally, it was explained by the fact that women bear significant burdens associated with having children, and this is certainly true for the current generation of pensioners. However, when we look at the younger generation, where the inclination towards having children is decreasing, this justification seems to cease applying to the entire generational cohort. We need to rethink this problem anew here - he emphasized.

08:44

Bosak:

The narrative of PSL and Hołownia is for the naive, who believes this?

- The narrative of PSL and Szymon Hołownia is something like this: low taxes, inflating social benefits, indebting the state, no budget cuts. This is for the naive, who believes this? - stated Krzysztof Bosak in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:45

Macierewicz Announces Date for Next PiS Convention
- There will be a second convention at the turn of September and October, and of course, a series of [programmatic] details will be presented, that is clear - stated Antoni Macierewicz in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

08:55

Buda:

We Will Be Open to Temporary Workers Assisting the Polish Economy in Agriculture, Construction, and More
- Immigration policy] should be reasonable, it should be substantive, and we have been approaching it this way for many years, meaning, firstly, those who stand at the border with stones in their hands have no right to enter Poland. This will be the case as long as we have influence over it. These are unverified individuals, these are people who certainly do not come to Poland to work. However, we will be open to seasonal workers. We will be open to temporary workers who assist the Polish economy in agriculture, construction, and other sectors – said Waldemar Buda in the program "24 Questions" on PR24. - Here, after full verification, after obtaining a visa, after approval for employment, then such individuals will be able to come. This is a reasonable policy with slightly ajar doors, and every responsible state should behave this way. Not like the West, not like what Civic Platform proposed, meaning accepting everyone, most of these people, who would actually not work, and we would have a huge problem with that – he continued. - In any case, this [visa affair] needs to be clarified. However, I think that whether one, two, five, or seven visas were issued somewhere, perhaps in violation of some procedure, the guilty parties must be punished, but this completely does not affect our migration policy and is of no consequence from the perspective of the principles that govern it – he added.

08:58

Buda on Extending the Ban on Grain Imports from Ukraine: If the EC Does Not Make Such a Decision, Poland Certainly Will
- Well, unfortunately, it doesn't look good. This means it is evident that the [European] Commission is heading towards a decision to end this export restriction – said Waldemar Buda on the program "24 pytania" on PR24. - If it turns out – the Minister of Agriculture is primarily discussing this at the Commission level – if it turns out that there will be no decision to extend [the ban], then shortly after the harvest, we cannot afford a situation where Ukrainian grain enters our country. Because today, the priority is the Polish farmer, and it is he who is to sell his grain in Poland and it is he who is to achieve a reasonable price. Therefore, if there is no such decision from the EC, then there will certainly be a Polish [decision] – he continued.

09:26

Buda on Civic Coalition: If They Win These Elections, There Will Be a 101st Postulate Invalidating All Previous Ones
- It seems to me that this [Donald Tusk suing for saying PiS steals billions] is pointless. The question is who is saying it, because if the first liar of the Republic is saying it, i.e., a person who has essentially undermined everything they have publicly stated, then it seems to me that it has no impact and no significance whatsoever. I think if you were to take this to court, the court would conclude that if someone lies in politics for half their life, no one pays attention to it. I think the verdict would be that the justification would be very interesting. The court would state that Poles and Poland should be aware that Donald Tusk lies, and therefore it is not a crime – said Waldemar Buda in the program "24 pytania" on PR24. - No one pays any attention to these postulates they announced [...] if they win these elections, there will be a 101st postulate that invalidates all the previous ones, meaning the earlier 100 – he added. - Everything that is announced today by Civic Coalition, they can promise anything, they can make our country flow with milk and honey, it simply won't be implemented – he stated.

09:29

Buda on KPO: I Think These Funds Will Be Disbursed This Year
- If Law and Justice wins, it will be impossible to block these funds for the next four years. So, it will suddenly turn out after the elections that all these adversities, these stumbling blocks, will suddenly become irrelevant, and I think these funds will be disbursed this year precisely because favouring the opposition and favouring Donald Tusk by blocking these funds will simply make no sense whatsoever – Waldemar Buda said in the program "24 Questions" on PR24.

Czarzasty:

The Left Will Never Stand, Sit, or Lie Beside the Confederation in Any Government

- Referring to specifics, to this dance of specifics with dreams, such a dance of needle and thread, I wanted to tell you that in these specifics, I missed one thing. I missed a clear and concrete statement that we will sign a parliamentary pact, that we, the opposition, Third Way, Civic Platform, and the Left, which I have the pleasure of representing, will govern together after the elections. I also missed the specific point that my friend Adrian Zandberg emphasized last Saturday, that no democratic force will co-create a government with the Confederation. I repeat, here in Szczecin, the Left will never stand, sit, or lie beside the Confederation in any government. I truly believe that all democratic forces should say this before the elections. We are saying it clearly because we know what a brown force means – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Szczecin.

11:09

Czarzasty:

Only When All Three Opposition Parties Enter Sejm, As All Polls Show, Will We Co-Govern
All the polls showing that the opposition will govern after the elections have one common feature: all three formations enter the Sejm. Trzecia Droga, Lewica, and PO. To all those who believe, and do so shamelessly and cynically, telling people that one opposition force is enough to enter the Sejm and we will hold power. I am telling you and appealing from this spot – do not lie, do not deceive people, do not speak untruths. Only when all three opposition parties enter the Sejm, as all the surveys say, will we co-govern, will the opposition govern. This is very precise. I am speaking to all the strong ones, so that we may be together in wisdom – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference in Szczecin.

BGK:

Three Seas Fund's Cumulative Economic Impact Reaches €6 Billion

Since its inception, the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF) has committed capital to five investments. Their cumulative economic impact is projected to reach €6 billion, a figure confirmed in a presidential declaration summarizing the 8th Three Seas Summit in Bucharest (September 6-7).

Representatives of governments, parliaments, and development banks of the Three Seas Initiative member states also participated in this presidential event in the Romanian capital. The meeting's objective was to outline plans for the upcoming year. Among the topics discussed were energy security and strengthening the economic resilience of the Three Seas region in the face of the war in Ukraine. During this year's summit, a decision was made to admit a new member state – Greece. The economic dimension of the Three Seas Initiative is the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund. This venture, initiated by BGK, aims to implement investments in transport, energy, and digitalization to improve connectivity along the European north-south axis.

- The fund has so far invested in projects within areas such as renewable energy (Enery, R. Power), railway transport (Cargounit), infrastructure (Port of Burgas), and data centers (Greenergy). The cumulative economic impact of these projects amounts to €6 billion. This is a substantial sum that demonstrates the economic potential of the entire Three Seas region. In recent years, the fund has analyzed nearly 300 projects, which also confirms the continued high demand for investments in infrastructure, energy, and digitalization – states Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, President of BGK and Ambassador-Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Poland for the Three Seas Initiative, who was also part of the presidential delegation during the event.

Grabiec:

We are continuing the audit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We will demand agreements with companies facilitating the sale of Polish visas
- We are continuing the audit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs […] concerning the visa scandal, which we uncovered a few weeks ago, back in June, regarding the import of several hundred thousand immigrants to Poland from Africa and Asia, precisely from directions from which the government has for years declared it would not admit a single immigrant - said Jan Grabiec at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. - It is not as PiS politicians claim, as the prosecutor's office writes, that this is a scandal concerning a dozen or so cases and some low-ranking officials. It is impossible to overlook almost 250,000 visas issued to immigrants from Asia and Africa over the last 2.5 years. Information about this is not only in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also in the Ministry of the Interior, which is responsible for Poland's border and for foreigners crossing the border. It cannot be overlooked in the Ministry of Labour, where work permits for foreigners are registered. Finally, it cannot be overlooked by the Prime Minister. […] If someone holds their office responsibly, is a minister, they must have known for 2.5 years that Poland had widely opened its doors to immigrants - he continued. - Today, we will demand agreements with companies that facilitate the sale of Polish visas - announced the Civic Platform spokesperson, adding: These are not fly-by-night companies that set up a table in front of a consulate; these are companies that are bound by agreements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and full knowledge of their activities is within this building. Those responsible for this should face consequences.

11:57

Kierwiński:

Since 2016, the PiS Government Has Issued Nearly 600,000 Visas for Migrants from Asia and Africa
- Jan Grabiec spoke about those 250,000 visas issued over the last 2.5 years, but perhaps it's time to use larger numbers. Since 2016, nearly 600,000 such visas for migrants from Asia and Africa have been issued. 600,000 visas were issued by the PiS government, while simultaneously constantly scaring Poles with migrants. This is the scale of this government's hypocrisy - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters. - I understand that for PiS, this is an inconvenient matter, as it is, in a way, a stake driven into the political heart of PiS. Everyone knows how mendacious, slanderous, and shameful their narrative was, how much they told Poles they were defending Polish security, and how, in this regard, they were simultaneously doing something completely different. [...] We will clarify this matter, we will show the public what the PiS government did, and how corruption in this matter harmed Polish security - he continued.

12:36

Błaszczak:

Our Goal is to Achieve a Situation Where the Polish Army Will Realistically Deter an Aggressor
- Together with the 18 launchers ordered in 2019, meaning one squadron, the Polish army will possess 500 Himars launchers in 28 squadrons. One is already here, and 27 will be delivered to Poland. We plan to commence deliveries at the end of 2025. 2026 has been designated as the safe year. The challenge will be adapting the systems, integrating the launchers with Polish systems, but after discussions with the Polish defense industry, I can assure you that we will complete this integration within two years – said Mariusz Błaszczak in Toruń during the signing of the contract for the purchase of Himars launchers. - 500 Himars launchers, the opposition says it's too many. No, it's not too many; it's precisely the number of Himars launchers needed for the Polish army to realistically deter an aggressor. We are aware that the rulers of the Kremlin have decided to rebuild the Russian empire. Our goal is to achieve a situation where a strong Polish army will realistically deter an aggressor. And we will do it, as I have declared many times, within two years the Polish army will have the strongest land army, and one of the most important components of the land army will be rocket artillery – he continued. - Last weekend, the opposition presented its defense program. I must say I am astonished, because when one could hear what they are proposing [...] that, for example, they accuse us of politicizing the army, they presented candidates who are retired commanders of the Polish army [...] they are candidates of the political camp that liquidated the Polish army [...] they also propose, for example, that Poland join the European anti-missile dome; this is a much less advanced solution than the Polish solution, which we are consistently implementing together with the United States and Great Britain – he went on to say.

Budka Calls on Morawiecki to Disclose Assets

- Mr. Mateusz, I have a very simple piece of advice for you. Today, the media are reporting on your wife's additional plots of land. There's nothing wrong with that, it's good that you are so entrepreneurial, but there is a very simple, legal method by which the public would learn about your joint assets with your wife. This involves a notarial deed from 2013. When I became a Member of Parliament, my wife and I went to a notary and expanded our marital property community. Precisely so that all our assets would be transparent to the public. We believed at the time that since I held the honorable position of Member of Parliament for the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, we should exercise all due diligence to ensure that my wife's assets were also transparent. We went to a notary, we signed the expansion of our community - stated Borys Budka during a press conference in Katowice.

- Mr. Mateusz, this cost less than 500 zlotys, such a notarial deed. You don't need to change any regulations to sort this out, it takes 15 minutes. If you can't afford it, I'll gladly pay for this notarial deed. 500 zlotys, I can manage. However, here in Silesia, voters highly value honesty. Here in Silesia, voters highly value responsibility. Here in Silesia, voters highly value it if someone keeps their word. You made a promise 4 years ago that you would disclose your assets and your wife's assets. You have not kept this promise, citing regulations. This is another lie. The regulations allow for the possibility for you to disclose your assets even this week. This notarial deed is proof of that, and please take an example from us who live here in the Silesian Voivodeship - he continued.

- For us, clarity, honesty, and transparency are truly values that we adhere to. You are running as a candidate from here, you have not fulfilled many promises, so you have the opportunity, at least this one, to fulfill it very quickly. I invite you to the notary, please disclose your assets and your wife's assets - emphasized Borys Budka.

Budka on PiS's New Ad: Let Kaczyński Finally Stop His Ididiotic Spots and Explain Who Profited from Bringing in Economic Migrants
Kaczyński is unlikely to win an Oscar. I would prefer Jarosław Kaczyński to record a spot where he explains what he secretly discussed with Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2016. Let me remind you, it was Kaczyński who met with the Chancellor in secret from the public. Now, I understand that he wouldn't pick up the phone from some chancellor or other Western politician for the simple reason that they wouldn't get along, but pretending before the public or playing out this spectacle that he is offering today, that is already something that goes a step too far - stated Borys Budka during a press conference in Katowice. - Today, Kaczyński should confess and explain how it is possible that Polish diplomacy was involved in the illegal bringing of economic migrants to Poland. I will remind you that Kaczyński, on the one hand, is calling for a referendum, attacking everyone who is foreign to him, but at the same time, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was dismissed in an extraordinary manner without any reason given. As the media reports, it was related to the fact that around Polish consulates in Muslim countries, countries outside the European Union, a scheme was created which enabled tens of thousands of economic migrants to enter Europe - he continued. - So, let Kaczyński finally stop his idiotic spots and explain why and who profited from it. Does he, as Deputy Prime Minister, know who was profiting from the scheme of bringing economic migrants to Europe? Was it a scheme in which employees of Polish offices were also involved? Is it true that it cost 5,000 euros, or 5,000 dollars? And let Kaczyński come out to a press conference and provide the real, reliable reason for Wawrzyk's dismissal. As for someone who wants to record such spots, well, Hollywood awaits, but I think in Kaczyński's case and what they have been doing recently, I think Bollywood would be the appropriate address. He could certainly make a career there - he added.

Tusk:

My Commitment – Legal System Changes Will Enable VAT Reduction to 8% in the Beauty Industry. We've Consulted with High-Ranking European Officials
It’s not by chance that I’m starting my visit to the Opole Voivodeship with a meeting at a beauty salon. As we’ve been saying for many months, there is something very unfair about the tax system, which burdens such [beauty] salons with a higher VAT tax, a significantly higher VAT tax – said Donald Tusk at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. - This is my commitment, which stems from a very thorough analysis of the legal situation in Poland and the possibilities for changes that can also be implemented within the EU. We have consulted with high-ranking European officials who deal with these types of issues. There are no significant obstacles to overcome. First and foremost, Polish regulations within the Polish legal system need to be changed, and this will enable a reduction of VAT to 8%, a reduction of VAT to 8% for precisely these types of service establishments [beauty industry] – he continued.

14:13

Tusk:

PiS is Breaking All Possible European and, Above All, Polish Constitutional Regulations. If There Isn't a Change in Poland, We Could Also Lose So-Called Structural Funds.

- There is increasingly more noise in various European capitals. These voices of concern that the PiS government may lead to this – if a change does not occur in Poland – that we will also lose these so-called structural funds. Because PiS is breaking all possible European, and above all, Polish, constitutional regulations. This is mainly the problem of the independent judiciary and constitutional regulations concerning the rule of law – Donald Tusk said at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

- We secured the largest funds. No country received as much money as Poland from the EU when I was prime minister. These were absolute records. And today we genuinely risk losing gigantic amounts – he added.

14:19

Tusk:

I have no doubt that the October 15 elections will be a referendum on whether we remain in the EU or allow PiS to lead us out

- I have no doubt that these elections on October 15 will truly be a referendum, and I'm not talking about those four questions, which essentially amount to one big mockery, especially the one about immigrants. But in reality, these elections will be a referendum on whether we remain in the EU or allow PiS to lead us out. Therefore, only this profound political change in Poland can unblock our very positive European adventure – Donald Tusk said at a press briefing in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

"Instructions Given in Diplomatic Language": Kaczyński on the Tusk-Merkel Conversation Memo
It is, I believe, obvious to a vast majority of society that Poles deserve to be able to retire at the age of 60 and 65, and not be forced to work longer, although such a possibility exists and is also provided for by law. And I repeat: it is also clear here that anyone who wishes well for Poland and Poles wants to solidify this situation, and the announcement of this referendum question is such a solidification. Because if all the conditions established by law are met – that is, 50% turnout and, of course, but here we have no doubts, a majority of votes in favor of rejecting the proposal to change this situation, the re-increase of the retirement age – then no government will be able to legally change it. However, we are currently in a somewhat new situation. Not because something has happened at this moment, but simply because we have reached some new information. This is the memo from the conversation between the then Prime Minister Tusk, this was in 2013, and the then German Chancellor Merkel. Well, this memo indicates completely unequivocally that the issue of pensions was discussed, even though this is an entirely internal Polish matter, and in essence, it was about accepting, let's put it delicately, German suggestions. Because, considering the overall relationship between Tusk and Merkel, these were not suggestions, but, of course, instructions given in diplomatic language – stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a media statement.

Kaczyński:

Our government is that of a sovereign state, and neither German suggestions nor any others will influence issues concerning all Poles

- Considering the entirety of the relationship between Tusk and Merkel, these were not suggestions, but rather, of course, commands given in diplomatic language. So we were dealing with a situation not only of striking the Polish society, particularly the older generation, but we were dealing with a situation where this blow was initiated from the outside, and this is a scandalous situation, absolutely impossible to accept. We simply cannot agree to this, and this is yet another argument for a referendum on this matter. I want to say very clearly that those times have ended, that our government is the government of a sovereign state, and neither German suggestions nor any others will influence these kinds of issues, problems that concern all Poles – stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a press briefing.

Social Agreement Will Be Fully Implemented; No Government Plans to Accelerate Coal Phase-Out
- We have just finished a meeting with the signatories of the social agreement, which regulates the process of phasing out hard coal mining by 2049 [...] We have assured that the social agreement will be fully implemented, there are no plans on the government's side, on the Law and Justice party's side, to accelerate the move away from coal. On the contrary, we have pointed out that the experiences of the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, have led us to adopt the assumption that coal will be the transitional fuel until we have the capacity to produce an adequate amount of energy from sources other than coal. This means we will be dealing with coal for a long time in Polish energy, coal will be the foundation of Polish energy for a long time - said Jacek Sasin in Zabrze. - Certainly, as a responsible government, we will not accept any whispers or any projects that would lead to abandoning coal in an ideological manner, abandoning coal despite the lack of ability to replace it with other energy sources [...] Poland wants an energy transformation, it will participate in the energy transformation process [...] but these are projects that, in order to be implemented, require time and significant financial outlays - he continued.

We Can Proudly Say That the Largest Companies Ensuring Poles' Safety and Forming the Backbone of Polish Industry are State-Owned
- The majority of the steel industry in Poland is in the hands of private entities, most often foreign ones. We have very little left in the State Treasury's assets. This is, unfortunately, the legacy of the economic management that dominated in Poland for three decades after '89 – the selling off of national assets, the disposal of state property. The belief that private is always better than state – said Jacek Sasin in Ruda Śląska. - Today, we know that this liberal model of the economy and national property management was false, it did not work. Today, we can proudly say that the largest Polish companies, the companies that ensure Poles' safety in many areas, that generate profits, that are also, one might say, the backbone of Polish industry, are state-owned companies – he continued. - We want to support these companies; one of them is Węglokoks. […] Together, as Węglokoks and the Ministry of State Assets, we have prepared a project for the construction of a new steelworks, a rolling mill, here in Ruda Śląska. A modern, emission-free plant that could significantly meet Poland's steel needs. This may not be a breakthrough yet, but I hope it will be the first major step towards rebuilding the steel industry within the domain of the State Treasury – continued the Minister of State Assets.

Senate Blocked Bill, Government Decides on Discount for Households from Energy Retailers

- In connection with the Senate blocking the bill, which proposed a 5% reduction in electricity prices, the government has decided to introduce a solution involving energy retailers granting households a discount of over PLN 120. We keep our word - Jacek Sasin wrote on Twitter.

Tusk:

For PiS officials, anyone who works hard is a threat, an enemy, or an opponent
- For too many years, people who have taken on burdens, and these are very often brave women [...] they hear nasty things every day, if not from Kaczyński, then from Morawiecki, if not from Rydzyk, then on TVP Info, that entrepreneurs are some kind of suspicious tribe - Donald Tusk said in Opole.

- For PiS officials, anyone who works hard is in some sense a threat, or an enemy, or an opponent. Whether it's a teacher, they have to be beaten down with such a salary that you want to cry, whether it's a small entrepreneur, or even a state official. Especially with this inflation, you know what people feel when they have three thousand [zł] net and hear for many months that maybe 3% or maybe 5% they will get raises [...] the public sector must get 20%, and that's barely a catch-up, and teachers will get 30%, a minimum of 1500 [zł] per full-time position - he continued.

"They Issued 600,000 Visas for Residents of Asia and Africa, While Pretending to Care Deeply About Protecting Polish Territory"

- There isn't an hour, there isn't a day, when new things don't come to light. Today, our MPs entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to force the release of documents, to begin investigations into what this visa trade is really about, and more strange leads are emerging. The company commissioned by the Polish government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the one that signed the agreement for this visa trade, also seems to have its headquarters in Lukashenko's Minsk. Listen, this is no longer a joke - said Donald Tusk in Opole.

- Only today has the magnitude of these facts reached me when we learned that by 2016, they had issued nearly 600,000 visas solely for residents of Asia and Africa, while simultaneously building a fence and pretending to care deeply about a secure border and the protection of Polish territory. And it turns out, in the end, that they are conducting some very serious, very ambiguous dealings with it - he added.

Tusk:

I want to defend PiS voters who have a distorted view of reality because they only watch TVP Info and are taught family morality by Adamczyks, Kłęczkowskis, Rachoniis

- This is truly not just a play on words on my part. I really want to defend PiS voters who have a distorted view of reality because they only watch TVP Info and are taught family morality by Adamczyks, Kłęczkowskis, Rachoniis, what else can I tell you - stated Donald Tusk in Opole.

Tusk:

Kaczyński is a coward, he fears me, he fears you, and he fears the truth. They all fear the truth like fire

- I've been chasing him for I don't know, 8, 9, 10 years and I say: stop insulting me, degrading me, lying about me. Let's talk, let's show who is right. So it will probably be indeed difficult to convince him, but at least help me get this information to everyone, including PiS supporters. Kaczyński is a coward, he fears me, he fears you, and he fears the truth. They all fear the truth like fire - stated Donald Tusk in Opole.

Tusk to PiS Voters: Let's Convince Kaczyński to a Public Debate Together. Let State Television Broadcast It, I'm Not Afraid
- I always tell them, these people I meet who vote for PiS: vote as you see fit, that's what democracy is about. But allow yourselves to be helped in freeing yourselves from this oppression, from this informational-propaganda dictatorship. Make a decision in your own best interest, but know the truth. You don't want to watch other TV channels, you don't want to use the internet to confront what they're shoveling into your heads, then at least, together with me, let's convince Kaczyński to a public debate. Let the state television broadcast it, I'm not afraid, I can hold that debate at their place – stated Donald Tusk in Opole.

Tusk:

I Saw a Video, Kaczyński with a Phone. Jarek, You Know Very Well You've Never Taken an International Call in Your Life
- Today, on my way to see you, I also saw a video of Kaczyński with a phone... you've seen it. Listen, I don't know who he wanted to fool. Jarek, you know very well, I know very well, that you've never taken an international call in your life, forget about it. That was precisely my impression when I watched this video with interest: that the only serious figure in this entire Kaczyński team is that cat, because it sat there quietly, and to be honest, it also seemed a bit surprised by what it was seeing - said Donald Tusk in Opole.

18:55

Tusk to Jarosław: Do You Realize That When I Was Prime Minister, the Minimum Wage Bought Twice as Many Loaves of Bread?
- Jarosławie, do you even realize that when I was prime minister, you could buy twice as many loaves of bread for the minimum wage as you can today, when you are the de facto head of this government? I could show hundreds of such examples that they have managed to falsify - said Donald Tusk in Opole.

18:57

Tusk to Kaczyński: If You're So Afraid to Stand and Debate Openly with Your Main Opponent, Why Are You Pushing for Power?
- I would most gladly ask him this question during such a debate. If you are afraid of people, if you are so afraid of your own nation, if you are so afraid to stand before your nation and debate openly with your main opponent, then why are you pushing for power? What do you need it for? What is it for? How will you manage... and I don't want to, bad thoughts are coming to me, what is this power needed for - Donald Tusk said in Opole.

Tusk to Kaczyński: Confess Before the Last Judgment Day; October 15th Will Be a Political Apocalypse for PiS Rule

Jarosław, these people [gathered here in Opole] will come to you. Perhaps then you will dare to speak to them directly, face to face. Here, to all of us, and to those hundreds of thousands, because there will be hundreds of thousands of us in Warsaw. Perhaps then you will finally understand that you must look Poles directly in the eye and confess about these eight years. About this shame that grew with each passing year, about this unaffordability, about Poland's economy finding itself at a crossroads once again. About this disregard, about the fall of the Polish government's reputation, about the contempt for ordinary people (...) Confess all of this before you face this day of ultimate judgment, because October 15th, I have no doubt, will be precisely such a political day of reckoning for the PiS government – said Donald Tusk in Opole.

Morawiecki on Service Pensions:

One of the Priority Decisions.
If voters entrust PiS with power in the upcoming term, the introduction of service pensions will be one of the priority decisions. Recall that previously, also after taking office, we relatively quickly implemented both 500+ and the reversal of the retirement age. We are credible, so we will quickly move from declarations to implementation – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a Facebook Live.

19:35

Morawiecki:

Someone Suggested to Me That at Least 25 of Tusk's So-Called Specifics Benefit the Federal Republic of Germany
We will also constantly remind people during our tour of all the betrayals, lies, and manipulations by Mr. Tusk and his people. Recently, someone shared a reflection with me that after reading Mr. Tusk's so-called specifics, at least 25 of them are specifics – note – for the benefit of the Federal Republic of Germany. I asked for them to be sent, for a selection, because, I admit honestly, I haven't studied all the proposals of our political opponents in such depth myself, knowing perfectly well that they throw everything into the shredder right after the elections – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a Facebook Live.

Bochenek:

Today Poles are unequivocally saying they fear the return of PO and PSL to power and the mass sell-off of state assets

- Today Poles are unequivocally saying they fear the return of PO and PSL to power, they fear that mass sell-off of state assets that took place during the time of those governments, when almost a thousand different entities were privatized, sold off, key, very often strategic state treasury companies. They fear that you will tamper with the retirement age once again, because how can one interpret the words of opposition politicians who say they want to encourage Poles to work longer. Well, how else can this be interpreted - stated Rafał Bochenek on the program “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

20:45

Bochenek:

PiS Program Convention is All About Concrete Solutions

- The PiS program convention is all about concrete solutions, specific programs and proposals aimed at, for example, residents of prefabricated housing estates, those who shop in large retail stores, the 'local shelf' initiative, good meals in hospitals, or also early retirement pensions. These are very concrete solutions that we have presented over the past week. The entire program is dozens of pages long and contains really hundreds of various proposals, including economic ones, related to the reform of the judiciary, the economy, and various kinds of solutions for Polish society - stated Rafał Bochenek on the program "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.
