Leśkiewicz:

President Nawrocki to Present Trump with Conclusions on Engaging with War Criminal Putin

– These preparations [for the president's visit to the USA] are essentially concluded, the key issues have been agreed upon, and we will soon inform about the agenda for the meeting with Mr. President Donald Trump – said Rafał Leśkiewicz on PR24.

– First and foremost, Mr. President Karol Nawrocki will, of course, discuss with Mr. President Donald Trump what is happening in Ukraine, the situation in Ukraine, and the preparations for the tough peace talks that are expected to occur, leading to a trilateral meeting involving Donald Trump, Putin, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy – he continued.

– Here, Mr. President, contrary to some opinions, has much to contribute and will present Mr. President Donald Trump with his conclusions regarding how one ought to engage with representatives of the Russian Federation, with Putin, with the war criminal Putin – he added.

Bogucki:

No Presidency in the History of the Third Polish Republic Has Been This Active

Let's remember that these are the first days of the presidency. We already have 4 legislative initiatives from the president; there hasn't been such an active presidency until now in the history of the Third Polish Republic. The problem is to ensure lower bills for Poles by freezing electricity prices after the end of September, so from October 1st – stated Zbigniew Bogucki in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' 'Graffiti'.

08:21

Hennig-Kloska:

President's Veto Expected. A Harmful and Utterly Incomprehensible Decision

– We expected such a decision from the President [the veto regarding the wind farm bill], although it is simply harmful and completely incomprehensible. This demonstrates that the Presidential Palace will prioritize political considerations over the rational interests of the Polish state and its citizens. Because this bill was, and still is, a measure ensuring the development of the Polish economy through lower energy prices, – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with Karol Surówka on "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

08:22

Bogucki:

It Was Meant to Be an Ambush. The President Will Not Yield to Any Blackmail

If the government anticipated that the president would veto this law for obvious reasons, then why did it unconstitutionally, only in the second reading, introduce provisions concerning the freezing of energy prices? This was meant to be an ambush, it was meant to be a snare into which the president was supposed to fall, but as President Nawrocki said yesterday, he will not yield to any blackmail, because it is blackmail against Poles, not just the president – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on “Graffiti” Polsat News.

08:29

Leśkiewicz:

Presidential Chancellery to Propose Bill for Permanent 33% Electricity Price Reduction Within Weeks

– Work is currently underway at the Presidential Chancellery on a draft law to reduce electricity prices by 33%. We have our calculations and estimates. Within a few weeks, the President – or rather, the Presidential Chancellery – will present a bill that permanently lowers electricity prices – said Rafał Leśkiewicz in an interview with Kamil Szewczyk on "24 Pytania" for PR24.

08:30

Hennig-Kloska:

The President isn't for discussing blackmail, but for considering what's good for citizens

“The President isn't for discussing blackmail, but for considering what's good for citizens. And generally, this refers to the law on lower energy prices. It is very coherent,” said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Polish Radio One's “Sygnały dnia.”

“Regarding prices, we incorporated this component a very long time ago, even before the President took office, [...] and no one here was thinking of any blackmail, but only about ensuring lower energy prices for citizens and the economy in both the short and long term,” she stated.

08:34

Will Poland Run Out of Power? Leśkiewicz: 'Those aren't true claims; we have substantial coal reserves that must be utilized.'

“These are not true claims; Poland stands on coal. We primarily have substantial coal reserves that must be utilized,” Rafał Leśkiewicz said on PR24, when asked about experts' warnings that Poland might face an electricity shortage in a few years.

“The second point is, of course, Polish nuclear power [...] this will also be, among other things, the subject of the Cabinet Council meeting, which is imminent. But we also, of course, have renewable energy sources, such as biogas plants,” he continued.

08:40

Hennig-Kloska:

This wasn't a legislative add-on violating the constitution or creating chaos. It was a simple add-on to provide citizens with energy cost protections.

– Before the summer break, this was the only bill from the Minister of Climate and Environment that was at such an advanced stage of parliamentary work that I could simply add it to it. And it was simply a rational move. PiS also did this on many occasions, incorporating urgent matters as they arose… – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on Polish Radio One.

– And you often criticized such legislative add-ons – commented host Karol Surówka.

– But this wasn't an add-on that, for example, violated the constitution, or one – because our predecessors also employed such tactics – that created chaos. This was a simple add-on to provide citizens with energy cost protections until the end of the year, because we were simply able to release additional funds for this purpose from programmatic savings in the interim – replied the Minister of Climate and Environment.

08:50

Leśkiewicz:

Bosacki's Claim of No MFA-Presidential Palace Contact is False. Perhaps He's Not Being Informed.

– Minister Przydacz is in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs […] this relationship is ongoing, meaning we also regularly provide information to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after meetings held, after telephone conversations of President Karol Nawrocki with Donald Trump – said Rafał Leśkiewicz on PR24, when asked about relations between the MFA and the Presidential Palace in connection with Marcin Bosacki's remarks that Marcin Przydacz is not attempting to contact him.

– It is untrue, what Minister Bosacki says, that this contact does not exist. Perhaps someone is not relaying this information to Minister Bosacki, but that is already an internal communication problem within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – he continued.

08:54

Hennig-Kloska Does Not Rule Out Government Bill on Energy Price Freeze

– Regarding energy prices themselves, the Ministry of Energy has since been established, and Minister Motyka, I know, has his plans on how to further resolve this issue. We will certainly continue to work on our solutions. I am convinced that the government will address this problem with solutions so that they are back in the Sejm as early as September – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

– Minister Motyka certainly has a plan here; we've discussed it, but I don't want to present the solutions on his behalf. We will continue to fight – she continued.

09:02

Bogucki Suggests Regular Cabinet Council Meetings:

More Frequent Practice Than Before.

I believe it will be a more frequent practice than before. It's not yet decided [how often], but the next Cabinet Council is scheduled for August 27 at 9:00 AM to discuss very important matters. I think that once a week is impossible for many reasons, and it would also disrupt the government's work, but a certain systematic, cyclical nature for Cabinet Councils is, in the president's view, essential – stated Zbigniew Bogucki in “Graffiti” on Polsat News.

09:18

Bogucki:

Government Scrambles to Plug Gigantic Budget Hole

This government is looking for money to plug this gigantic budget hole. Let me remind you, over 500 billion PLN in 2 years. This is an absolutely historic "achievement," because no government, not even the worst in the Third Polish Republic – and therefore the worst prime minister – managed to dig such a budget chasm, such a massive deficit, in such a short time – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on Polsat News' "Graffiti."

This clearly shows that PO, instead of implementing the "3x15" it promised a long, long time ago – because, as you remember, CIT 15, VAT 15, and PIT 15 – is, in every possible instance it can, raising taxes or various types of tax-related fees – he continued.

09:25

Bogucki on the necessity of consulting legislative proposals with the President:

The sooner those in power understand this, the better.

It somewhat appears that way [as if the Presidential Palace were to be a third chamber of parliament], but these are the provisions of the Constitution. Of course, this is a certain mental shortcut, but the president is the final, equivalent element of the legislative process in Poland. The president's signature is not, one might say, a given. The president's signature is not some mechanical action, but is actually the conclusion of the legislative process, and the sooner those in power understand this, the better – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

Mroczek on the Probe into the Russian Drone Explosion in Osiny:

Tasks Entrusted to ABW, Military Gendarmerie.

There [in Osiny], the prosecutor's office is conducting the investigation in cooperation with many agencies. The tasks have primarily been entrusted to the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Military Gendarmerie, but the police have also been working there from the very beginning, assisting the agencies in securing the area. Yesterday, over 100 police officers were working there, so as long as the prosecutor needs evidence from the scene, he will be [...] carrying out various activities at the scene, and the agencies will also remain there – stated Czesław Mroczek on the TVN24 program "Jeden na jeden" (One-on-One), when asked about the investigative actions concerning the Russian drone explosion in the Lublin region.

This [the search for parts of this drone] has largely already been completed. There was a thorough reconnaissance of the area, both from the air and from the ground. As I said, many officers are working there, but the prosecutor will decide on the completion of these activities. He has already commissioned many tests and expert analyses, so [...] I am convinced that it is progressing efficiently, but he will decide whether work will continue at this location – Mroczek continued.

09:46

Mroczek on Russian Drone Explosion in Osiny: 'Unlikely to Be a Decoy'

First and foremost, we need to confirm the hypothesis that an explosion occurred and that it involved a drone. First, a Russian drone – where did it fly in from, and what kind of payload did it carry, right? We know that an explosion occurred, and the prosecutor has already stated that everything indicates we were dealing with an explosion of explosive material. This is currently being confirmed as part of the ongoing investigations – stated Czesław Mroczek on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" program, when asked about the angle from which the drone's elements would be examined.

In light of what I just said, that there was indeed an explosion of explosive material, it's unlikely to be a decoy, but that is precisely the subject of the ongoing investigation by the services – continued Czesław Mroczek.

09:50

Mroczek on the Motives Behind a Drone Attack on Poland:

What Kosiniak-Kamysz Said Is Very Likely Here.

"We will certainly determine what kind of drone it was, what its payload was; we will establish that. However, as for the motives of those who used this drone, well, [...] that will be a subject of speculation," stated Czesław Mroczek on the TVN24 program "Jeden na jeden" (One-on-One).

"What Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz said is very probable here, that [...] perhaps during these massive attacks on Ukraine, using drones, there might be an element of Russians reconnoitering our systems, so that is very probable," he continued.

"Yes, [it was a provocation] but this is one of the hypotheses that must be taken into account and obviously must, meaning must be the subject of our consideration and analysis," Mroczek concluded.

09:51

Mroczek:

National Defense and Internal Security Should Be Shielded from Direct Political Struggle

The area of national defense and internal security should be excluded from such direct political struggle. This demand has been made for years, but the practice is entirely different, because national defense has probably become the hottest area for election campaigning in 2023. The infamous disclosure of plans, secret plans of the General Staff. [...] It is said that those plans are kept behind bars in the General Staff. They should never have left those bars, but Minister Błaszczak made them public. [...] There is yet another area that poses a more serious problem... – stated Czesław Mroczek in the program “One on One” on TVN24.

This is the issue of migration. After all, in 2023, 12,000 people crossed the Belarusian-Polish border under PiS rule. They entered Poland, moved across the country, heading for the western border. Last year, this was successfully limited to 5,000. This year, for the first half, it was about 850 people, meaning Poland has radically managed to limit the influx of illegal migration, which is organized with the support of Russian and Belarusian services. And what turns out? That now, when we have essentially brought this under control, we have the greatest emotional upheaval in Poland regarding this matter, specifically, stirred up by the opposition, by PiS – Mroczek continued.

09:52

Mroczek on Emergency Services' Response to Russian Drone Explosion in Lublin Voivodeship:

The First Police Officers Simply Dismissed the Incident.

It somewhat appears that the initial police officers simply dismissed this incident. I have [information from] those who arrived after midnight. I have the exact sequence of actions taken by the police in this case. The police were first at the scene, informing all other services. I am checking this aspect of the initial report; however, it is beyond dispute that the police arrived at the scene, secured it... – stated Czesław Mroczek in the program “Jeden na jeden” on TVN24.

Police officers, starting from the District Police Headquarters in Łuków, through the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lublin, acted in this matter with full responsibility, informing the other state services, and immediate actions were taken to secure the site, and above all, to check the place for threats to people – he continued.

12:47

Petru:

We Cannot Repeat PiS's Errors with Abrupt Tax Changes

PiS's chaotic tax policy became one of the reasons for that party's defeat in 2023. We cannot replicate their mistakes by making sudden changes in taxes. We can finance the necessary security expenditures by privatizing some state-owned companies – for example, a candy factory. In the economy, stability and predictability are paramount – wrote Ryszard Petru.

Błaszczak and Cenckiewicz Indicted Over Revelation of Poland's Defense Plan Fragments

An indictment has been filed against former head of the Ministry of National Defense (MON) Mariusz Błaszczak, current head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) Sławomir Cenckiewicz, current head of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) Agnieszka Glapiak, and former Director of the Department of Strategy and Defense Planning at MON, Piotr Z., in the investigation concerning the revelation of fragments of the "WARTA" Polish Armed Forces Use Plan.

As reported by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, the prosecutor indicted Mariusz Błaszczak for exceeding his powers as Minister of National Defense in late July 2023, with the aim of achieving personal gain for the PiS party. This involved declassifying "top secret" and "secret" clauses from fragments of strategic-level operational planning documents, including, among others, the "WARTA-00101 Polish Armed Forces Use Plan - Main Part of Independent Defensive Operation."

These fragments were subsequently presented during the ongoing election campaign in a video clip published on the official PiS profile on X. Investigators assessed that Błaszczak "acted to the detriment of the public interest and caused exceptionally serious harm to the Republic of Poland," and that "the action aimed at achieving personal gain was Mariusz Błaszczak’s use of fragments taken out of context […] to publicly discredit political opponents and thereby act in favor of his political formation."

In Mariusz Błaszczak’s crime, a significant role was played by the accused Piotr Z., Agnieszka Glapiak, and Sławomir Cenckiewicz, who, through their actions, facilitated its commission; additionally, the accused Piotr Z. and Sławomir Cenckiewicz exceeded their powers to achieve personal gain for Mariusz Błaszczak and themselves, – the prosecutor's statement further reads.

13:04

Błaszczak Responds to Indictment:

Tusk’s Act of Revenge.

– This is not an indictment, but an act of revenge by Donald Tusk against me that has been sent to court. This is the price I am paying for revealing the plans of the first PO-PSL government concerning the surrender of almost half of Poland without a fight – Mariusz Błaszczak wrote on the X platform, referring to the indictment.

As he stated: – If I were to face this dilemma again, I would not hesitate to declassify the documents showing the true intentions of Tusk’s team. This is how I understand my mission as a politician – to serve the people, and especially the residents of Eastern Poland had the right to know what fate the PO-PSL government was preparing for them.

– The truth will prevail! Thank you for your support! – concluded the head of the PiS parliamentary club.

13:09

Cenckiewicz Comments on Indictment:

The Revenge of Those Who Fostered Friendship with Russia.

– I am very pleased that the case has gone to court! I will be able to defend myself in court on legally defined terms – Sławomir Cenckiewicz wrote on platform X, referring to the indictment.

– The investigation led by prosecutor Marcin Maksjan was marked by numerous irregularities, which became the basis for two reports of potential criminal offenses. My rights were denied, and my motions were summarily dismissed – he stated.

In the opinion of the head of the National Security Bureau: – The charges are false and entirely substantively unwarranted. […] This is the revenge of people who for years built friendship with Russia, entangling state institutions in relations with Russia! Including with the FSB.

– I was and remain innocent! I have never broken the law! Poland will defeat Russia's supporters, lawbreakers, and liars! – he concluded.

"Presidential Initiatives Unnecessary": Kosiniak-Kamysz Vows to Reintroduce Energy Security Bill

"The President did not sign the energy price freeze. [...] Let's be frank, unfortunately, he made a decision that means Poles do not have the certainty of lower energy prices today. The government wanted this, the parliamentary majority wanted this [...] public opinion wanted this; it wanted the President's signature on this bill," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

"We will reintroduce the energy security bill, so no presidential initiatives are needed here; what's needed is his acceptance of government initiatives," he continued.

"Nothing prevents us from repeating these provisions of the bill that were vetoed, but it will be a government initiative. [...] The government's energy security bill can be passed again; we will keep trying until we succeed, we will fight for lower electricity prices despite the President's decision," he went on to say.

13:40

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The President's Aides Seem to Have Misled Him Once Again, Succumbing to Charlatans

– I consider it a bad decision; the President's associates, it seems, have simply misled him once again, falling prey to the influence of various charlatans and a group that has been tilting at windmills for years, for no discernible reason or purpose, given that there are no scientific grounds or common sense to support it, – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

Consultations Ahead of US Visit: President Nawrocki Speaks with Bulgarian President

President Karol Nawrocki held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria. The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation between Poland and Bulgaria, strengthening regional security in the context of ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, and the directions of European integration – informed the Chancellery of the President.

The conversation was part of broader consultations with Central and Eastern European countries ahead of the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Poland to the United States.

13:43

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Excise Tax Rises Annually, Regardless of Government

– The increase in excise tax, if we observe it over the years, has happened year after year in recent years, regardless of who was in power. I think it's no surprise to anyone that the state is active and operating in this area; this is a strategy proposed by Minister Domański – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

16:32

Morawiecki:

Tusk Outmaneuvered Once Again

A coalition of the willing went to Washington, a format in which the Polish Prime Minister participates. But unfortunately, the Polish Prime Minister was not there – stated Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on social media.

It's not good that decisions about the situation in Ukraine are being made without the Polish government. It's not good that the Polish Prime Minister was outmaneuvered once again. It's not good that, de facto, the territory of our country is the subject of discussion around a table where the Polish Prime Minister is not present – he continued.

16:45

Tusk Responds to Błaszczak:

I'm Focused on Serious Matters.

"Mr. Błaszczak claims that the indictment against him is 'Tusk's revenge.' That's not true. To be honest, I forgot about your existence. I'm focused on serious matters," wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

16:51

Presidential Chancellery Takes Stand on Indictment of BBN Chief

The District Prosecutor's Office filing an indictment with the court against Professor Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau, is an action motivated solely by political considerations, intended to obstruct the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, in exercising the highest office in the Polish state — read a statement signed by Rafał Leśkiewicz, Spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Poland.

The prosecutor's action should be assessed as revenge by individuals associated with the current ruling establishment for Professor Cenckiewicz having, over the years, researched the history of communist special services and the Polish People's Army, courageously and reliably defended the security of the Republic of Poland, combated Russian influence, and, in particular, revealed to the public the truth about the pro-Russian shift in policy during the first two governments of Prime Minister Donald Tusk — it was emphasized.

20:46

Bogucki:

With Nothing to Boast About, They Resort to Attacks as Government Polls Plummet

This industry of lies is rampant. They have nothing to boast about, so they try to attack. They see the government's plummeting polls, one could say shattered support for the head of this government, Tusk, so they will try to undermine with dirty play, at which they excel, it must be said, but we truly have ways to counter this, to parry it – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on wPolsce24.

20:49

Bogucki:

Price Freeze 'Tacked On' Unconstitutionally, Bypassing First Reading

This price freeze [on energy] for Poles was also tacked on in an unconstitutional manner, as it bypassed the first reading. The Constitutional Tribunal (TK) has repeatedly commented on this, but that's a mere nuance in this whole matter, because that's how they interpret the law. However, the real threats were different: they wanted to place wind turbines 500 meters from Poles' homes. If they are so keen, then let them create a law where these wind turbines are located near those foreign corporations or their heads who wish to build them, or near Minister Motyka, who is such a proponent – stated Zbigniew Bogucki on wPolsce24.
