Szłapka on Trump’s Statement Regarding Poland:

These Words Must Cause Us Concern.

“We are in NATO, we are together in an alliance. It was also the USA that participated in consultations based on Article 4 immediately after the violation of Polish airspace, which the government requested in agreement with the President. After all, American troops are stationed in Poland, they participated in the ‘Iron Defender’ exercise,” Adam Szłapka said in the RMF FM “Morning Interview,” when asked by Tomasz Terlikowski about Donald Trump’s words regarding Poland: “Well, we are helping with intelligence. But when I spoke about air support, I meant security after the war. So after the war, we will help ensure peace, and I think that will eventually happen.”

But of course, these words must cause us concern. In this context, the clear declarations, and not just declarations but also actions, the real support from our European allies, which is already flowing to Poland in recent days, are extremely important,” he stated.

08:50

Szłapka:

Contrary to what they tried to present to us, there was no clear declaration of strengthening the American presence in Poland with concrete details

- I will not be sarcastic in any way here, perhaps one of the presidential ministers will explain it a bit more precisely. I remember the last visit of Mr. President Nawrocki to the White House, and there, that not entirely clear declaration about strengthening, which was made by President Trump, was not made in an open conversation, meaning in the first part of the conversation, but in response to journalists' questions - said Adam Szłapka in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

- And that answer was like: okay, so maybe there will be more. They actually tried to make a big declaration out of this, that many more soldiers would be stationed in Poland. Now we have the answer to that - he continued.

When asked if, in that case, Donald Trump should not be listened to, because he says whatever comes to his mind, he replied: - I didn't say that at all. I said that, contrary to what they tried to present to us, there was no such obvious declaration of strengthening the American presence in Poland, one that was unequivocal and with concrete details.

- This does not change the fact that Poland is in NATO, the USA is a pillar of NATO, and American soldiers are stationed in Poland - he emphasized.

"Unfortunately, this is the formula for action the government has adopted." Szefernaker: The media learn about various matters first, and only then are they passed on to the President

- The truth is that these actions would not have been taken at all if it weren't for the drones that violated Polish airspace, but I repeat – all actions should be explained, and there is no consent from the President for him to learn about such actions from the media. Unfortunately, this is the formula for action the current government has adopted, because the media learn about various matters first, and only later is the information passed on to the President. This is one example – stated Paweł Szefernaker on wPolsce24.

08:54

"100 Concrete Promises Made, But They're Not Being Realized." Szefernaker: Further Announcements Appear, Aimed at Distracting from What's Most Important

- The Prime Minister of the Polish government conducts politics via Twitter, constantly releasing various pieces of information, more or less confirmed, solely to occupy public opinion with these topics, so that public opinion doesn't focus on holding the Prime Minister accountable for not keeping his word during the campaign. Because, as we remember, 100 concrete promises were made, and they are not being realized. Consequently, the Prime Minister has no idea how to govern, how to implement programs that are good for Poles, so more and more announcements keep appearing on social media, intended to distract from what's most important - stated Paweł Szefernaker on wPolsce24.

09:06

Szłapka:

There will be 58 government priorities

- Four areas and 58 priorities - said Adam Szłapka in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM, when asked about the government's priorities, which are to be announced today.

The Ruling Camp is Trying to Play This Issue So the President Doesn't Have Much Time. Bogucki on the Law Limiting 800+ for Foreigners, Among Other Things

- We are again dealing with a strange, non-standard situation, one might say euphemistically, because the Senate has already adopted this law, and it was usually the case that this law would go to the Chancellery on the first, or at the latest the next day, in order to land on the president's desk. As of yesterday, this law was not there. This shows how the ruling camp is trying to play this issue today, so that, God forbid, the president doesn't have much time before the end of September to act on this law according to his opinion and his assessment - said Zbigniew Bogucki in an interview with Grzegorz Osiecki on "Sygnały dnia" PR1, when asked about the president's decision regarding the law that, among other things, limits the 800+ benefit for foreigners, and whether he will sign it.

- This law was passed without amendments, so it should have been submitted either that day or the next. It was processed on the 17th [of September], which was a Wednesday. It wasn't there on Wednesday, it wasn't there on Thursday. I don't know if it will arrive today - he continued.

09:14

Szefernaker Asked About Potential Talks with Trump During the UN General Assembly:

Indeed, Such Meetings Are Possible

- It's the case that, on the sidelines of events like the UN General Assembly, bilateral meetings with other leaders and presidents take place, and indeed, such meetings are possible. We will discuss the details once these meetings have occurred, including with other presidents. I would like to point out that this presidency is very active not only in domestic politics, because I'll remind you, 31 laws signed, 7 vetoed, and 6 submitted to parliament by the President – that's the result for the first month of activity in domestic politics, but also in international politics – stated Paweł Szefernaker on wPolsce24.

09:15

Bogucki:

President Forced Government Concessions on 800+ and Healthcare for Foreigners. Coalition Partially Started Acting in Poles' Interest

- I have read it, I have interpreted it, and today I will discuss it with the President. In short, one thing can be stated: the President, with his veto, a very good veto, forced this government and this coalition to move forward, at least to some extent, when it comes to tightening healthcare benefits - said Zbigniew Bogucki in PR1.

- For example, the 800+ benefit is not an ideal solution that the government is proposing; it is also postponed longer than the President proposed. However, this is a result of the presidential veto that there is finally some tightening of the 800+ benefit, not in the form the President would have wished, but still - he continued.

- Also, in the scope of healthcare, we have a limitation of the so-called benefit basket, meaning not all benefits will be available to Ukrainians as they were before. However, there is no personal limitation. This means that a Ukrainian who does not work, unlike a Pole who does not work and has no other grounds for healthcare, for health insurance, will receive this benefit, while a Pole will not. This is not in order - he continued.

- One can say that the President showed that the veto was necessary, and the President forced this government to make concessions, at least regarding 800+, and to some extent, incompletely, also regarding healthcare benefits [...]. Both the veto and the presidential draft [...] caused the coalition to at least partially start acting in the interest of Poles, in the interest of the Polish budget - he added.

- This law, in short, is better than the law that was vetoed, but this law also does not include all the solutions that should be there and that are in the presidential draft - he noted.

09:16

Szefernaker on the Trump-Nawrocki Relationship:

If Needed, There Will Be Further Meetings and Talks.

- These relations with President Trump are very good. In the first month, or to date, within the first 45 days, there have been two conversations with European leaders, with President Trump regarding Ukraine. There was a meeting in Washington, at the White House, on the 28th day of the presidency, and there was also a direct phone conversation with President Trump just now, before September 10th. And of course, this shows that relations with the USA are very good. If there is a need, there will be further meetings, further talks - he continued.

09:17

Szłapka on the government's priorities:

These will be the flagship projects of individual ministries.

- To be clear: these are the [government's] priorities that will be implemented over the next 2 years, and it's not that these are the only things that will be implemented. These are the ones that individual ministries want to focus on as their flagship projects, which are the most important - said Adam Szłapka in the “Morning Interview” on RMF FM.

09:26

Bogucki on Details:

Further Bills on Implementing the President's Programme Will Be Submitted.

"Certainly, in the near future, I'm talking weeks, not days, further bills regarding the implementation of President Nawrocki's 21-point programme will be submitted, and we are working on these laws. I am also working, as are the experts and advisors to the president" - said Zbigniew Bogucki on PR1.

"I cannot say that" - he continued, when asked "what will be the first to go.".

"I think it's several laws, 3-4 laws, that are being processed so that they can be sent to the Sejm [...]. Very diverse [matters are in these laws], for example, matters concerning further development" - he continued.

09:31

Bogucki on Sikorski and the President's foreign visits:

You don't take someone who has said various outlandish things to talk with a serious partner.

"You don't take someone who has said various outlandish things, irresponsible, undiplomatic things – I'm talking about Minister Sikorski here – to talk with a serious partner, or the most serious partner, which is the President of the United States," Zbigniew Bogucki said on PR1.

"I am being as delicate as I possibly can when it comes to describing Minister, Prime Minister Sikorski. Looking at what he sometimes writes or the tweets he posts, my statements are truly extremely, extremely delicate, cautious, and courteous," he continued.

09:41

Przydacz:

Drones were Russian, deliberately sent. Fijołek: Why is it hard for Trump to say it? Przydacz: I think it's the poetics of negotiation.

- Regarding the drones, the matter is clear here – the drones were Russian, deliberately sent across the Polish border… – said Marcin Przydacz in ‘Graffiti’ on Polsat News.

- Why is it so difficult for President Trump to say that? – asked Marcin Fijołek.

- I think this is – I would call it – the poetics of negotiation. In this sense, since he is creating an atmosphere of negotiation with the Russians, he doesn't want to use too harsh a language here. Although, as we know, President Trump is capable of using that harsh language. But I am not a spokesperson for President Trump – replied the Head of the President's Chancellery – Bureau of National Security.

- We have a clear position – the drones were Russian, deliberately sent in order to provoke a reaction or to check that reaction, to test it. And I have nothing more to say on this matter. However, all the rest is perhaps my opinion on why President Trump speaks the way he does, and not otherwise – he continued.

09:52

Przydacz on Trump’s words:

A slip-up and a mistake occurred; it was actually about Ukraine.

- I think there was indeed a slip-up, a mistake. I listened to that statement; the journalist asked a question about Poland, but then about statements from August concerning Ukraine, and President Trump, it seems, was responding regarding Ukraine - Marcin Przydacz said in the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News, when asked about Donald Trump’s words to Fox News: “Well, we are helping with intelligence. But when I spoke about air support, I meant security after the war ends. So after the war ends, we will help ensure peace, and I think that will happen eventually.”

- Because indeed, this fits Ukraine. Ukraine is supported with intelligence, not militarily, while Poland is supported both with intelligence and militarily… I think it was really about Ukraine, and there’s no need to look for unnecessary emotions or an unnecessary news story here - he stated.

- Sometimes it just happens that way; politicians – and journalists too – sometimes say something slightly different from what they actually meant - he added.

10:07

Błaszczak Calls for Szłapka's Resignation:

After This Disgrace, There's No Other Way.

- After this disgrace, there is no other way - Adam Szłapka must resign. There should be no place in the Polish government for a person who regularly misinforms and whose lies undermine Poland's security - wrote Mariusz Błaszczak on social media.

- This looks like a government-orchestrated anti-American operation aimed at discrediting our strategic alliance with the USA. A government information agency is reporting an untrue statement by President Trump, and the government spokesperson is using it to criticize the USA and President Nawrocki. Everything is based on lies, propaganda, and manipulation - stated the head of the PiS parliamentary club.

10:19

PAP Deletes Tweet About Alleged Trump Remarks

The Polish Press Agency (PAP) deleted a post on X (formerly Twitter) containing alleged words from President Trump regarding aid for Poland, only after the war had concluded.

10:22

Przydacz on Presidential Signatures for Ambassadorial Nominations:

We Will Not Tolerate Poland Being Ridiculed by Sikorski.

- Minister Sikorski is ridiculing Poland. Just imagine that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the minister's leadership applies to other countries for so-called agrément, for consent to accept a given ambassador, knowing that this person will never be an ambassador because they do not have the president's consent - said Marcin Przydacz in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- Every person who participates in an illegal procedure, bypassing the provisions of law, bypassing the president, i.e., applies for agrément, applies to the Foreign Affairs Committee without the president's prior consent, will no longer be able to count on a signature for an ambassadorial nomination during the term of office of President Karol Nawrocki - he declared.

- We will not tolerate Poland being ridiculed - and unfortunately, Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski is currently engaged in this in this context - he added.

10:38

Security, Economy, Public Services, and Digitalization: Government Outlines Priorities for the Second Half of the Parliamentary Term

- On behalf of the Prime Minister, I asked each member of the government to present no more than three most important ideas or tasks for themselves for the nearest future, and sometimes, of course, also with a longer-term perspective - said Maciej Berek at a press conference.

- Three priorities do not mean that a minister deals with only three things, but rather three matters. There are many more tasks. These are priorities from the perspective of each minister, but they do not represent the entirety of the work of the members of the Council of Ministers - he continued.

The discussed priorities concerned security (including drone forces, the construction and development of the Eastern Shield, the civilian protection program, and the resilience of the energy system against blackouts) and an innovative economy (including work on CPK and the nuclear power plant, support for Polish enterprises in foreign expansion, simplification of taxes, and continuation of deregulation).

- We declare that there will be no less than 200 deregulatory changes as a result of continuing this process, which we have been undertaking for months - emphasized the minister supervising the implementation of government policy.

The remaining areas are an efficient state and high quality of public services (including issues of the rule of law, e-health, including central registration of doctor's appointments, and increasing the availability of nurseries) and a modern digital state (including the development of mObywatel, digitalization in education, and e-legislation).

- These are the 4 areas in which 58 policy priorities of individual members of the Council of Ministers are grouped - said Berek.

- These priorities [...] constitute a program for the further part, let's call it, the second half of our government's functioning within the parliamentary term, but of course, these priorities have different time perspectives. A significant portion of them can be implemented in the coming months, but there are those that, by their nature, extend far beyond this perspective - he added.

10:49

Berek:

Ministers Who Set Priorities Must Deliver Them

- Yes, we agreed on this, the Prime Minister stated it clearly. Ministers who put these priorities on the table are expected to deliver them. They bear responsibility for leading them at a pace that will be deemed satisfactory and in line with their declarations. We assume this will be the case. Should something occur where we see someone intentionally not implementing these priorities, all solutions are on the table, but I believe we do not need to fear them, as the ministers themselves wanted to set these priorities - stated Maciej Berek at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

11:32

"Can They Still Be Trusted in Anything?" Morawiecki on "A Spokesperson Who Misinforms" and "A Government Agency That Lies"

- Government Information Policy in the Area of State Security and its Components - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media, publishing a short list:

- Government spokesperson who misinforms - check;

- Government press agency that lies - present;

- Hiding key information from Poles after the intrusion of Russian drones into Poland - accomplished.

- Can they still be trusted in anything? - asks the former prime minister.

11:53

Szefernaker:

At a Time When Poland is Surrounded by Fire, the Government is Doing Much to Ruin Our Allied Relations

- First, the disclosure of President Trump's letter to the media, which ridiculed Polish diplomacy, and now a government information agency is spreading disinformation regarding the US President's statements about our security. Unfortunately, the government spokesperson is spreading this further - wrote Paweł Szefernaker on social media.

- At a time when Poland is surrounded by fire, the government is doing much to ruin our allied relations. Unfortunately, they are no longer using matches for this, but a flamethrower, which is disinformation - the head of the presidential cabinet emphasized.

12:56

"We are dealing with a situation where the law simply ceases to function." Kaczyński on "attempts to intimidate judges"

- Attempts to intimidate judges, and intimidation using methods that can truly cause concern, attempts to ensure that judges appointed by the president, even if the CJEU ruled that the appointment, even if there were any prior errors, which there were not, would nevertheless validate those errors and the appointment would be valid and indisputable. Finally, undertakings aimed at bringing people into the judiciary who are either retired or are assessors, and thus filling a very large number, currently 2000, of vacancies. This is simply about creating a corps of people who, either out of their own conviction, especially I am referring to the older ones, or due to the uncertainty of their situation, because an assessorship lasts 4 years, after which one either becomes a judge or not, will simply be very compliant - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

- All these actions, to some extent, resemble what happened in Polish judiciary after 1945. We are dealing with a situation where the law simply ceases to function. One can say that although the foundation of law is the Constitution, the entire legal system is based on the Constitution, this system of connections within the legal system that creates it, has its culmination and simultaneously its source in the Constitution, yet the Constitution itself is ceasing to be an effectively binding act. We are dealing with a process of "odwyknienie" (de-habituation/detachment from law), as lawyers call it in this Polish version, and this is a process that leads to the creation of a constitutional vacuum, a void, so the matter is extremely serious - he continued.

- Poland has effectively ceased to be a state governed by the rule of law from the very first actions of this government and declarations, especially from Prime Minister Tusk, but now this is moving to a new level, a level of complete questioning of the principles that apply in every state, not only democratic, but in a simply civilized state - emphasized the PiS leader.

13:04

The Case of the Minister of Justice Breaking the Law. Błaszczak: We Will Submit Two Initiatives at the Sejm Session

- Already next week, the Sejm session begins, and we will submit two initiatives. The first of these initiatives will be a motion for a session of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights dedicated precisely to this matter, the breaking of the law by the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General. We hope that Chairman Śliz will convene the committee session, that he will respect the regulations of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference.

- Our second initiative, within the framework of the current questions format, our parliamentarians will direct a question on this matter to the Minister of Justice. We do not expect to hear arguments in response, because what arguments can be cited in a situation of evident law-breaking, but we want the public to be able to familiarize themselves with the stance of those who rule Poland today – he continued.

13:05

Kaczyński on Szłapka and PAP:

We Are Indeed Facing a Scandal.

- We are indeed facing a scandal here. What was said, both by the spokesperson and later by PAP, suggested that Poland would first participate in a war and then receive aid, after that war. This is something that could have greatly alarmed public opinion, and above all, it is another falsehood, and if PAP, which is now completely subordinate after its illegal takeover by the current authorities, repeats this, it further deepens this situation - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

- Of course, the information was eventually removed, but I don't think there will be any further consequences, and besides, it shows the direction of action. Let's do everything to ruin what has been built and what is today Poland's asset, as already shown by visits to Berlin and Paris - he continued.

13:07

Kaczyński on Trump:

Regardless of what one says about Trump, he has achieved a position in the Western world that no president has had in decades.

- Whatever one may say about Trump, he has achieved a position in the Western world that no president has had in decades. There hasn't been such a case, and it shows his perhaps sometimes originally expressed, but extremely effectively, one might say, skills when it comes to acting in the political sphere - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

13:51

"A Rather Futile Undertaking." Kaczyński on Tusk's 58 Priorities: It's Known They Won't Do Anything, Or Almost Nothing, Anyway

- I must admit that engaging with what Donald Tusk declares at any given moment is a rather futile undertaking, because there have been so many different kinds of announcements over the years that I believe studying the relationship between the 100 concrete proposals and the 58 goals, and examining their feasibility, is a waste of time, because it is known that they will do nothing, or almost nothing anyway, and if they do something, it won't be as they announced. This government is not a democratic government also in the sense that democracy is based on a certain assumption that those who present their goals in election campaigns have the will to realize them. It is difficult to believe here that Donald Tusk believed that he would realize these 100 goals in 100 days, and he said so, and the most naive believed it - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

14:35

Trzaskowski:

I Managed to Convince Civic Coalition Councillors to Limit Alcohol Sales in the City Center. Politics is the Art of Compromise

"Yesterday's City Council session concerning alcohol sales restrictions generated a great deal of emotion. But let's clarify what's most important," said Rafał Trzaskowski in a recording published on X.

"I am not backing down from anything. I still maintain that these types of restrictions make sense. And that's why I managed to convince the councillors of this, because the majority of Civic Coalition councillors, and this is no secret, were against imposing things, prohibitions, mandates, but I managed to convince them that we need to act step by step, and following the example of other cities in Poland, we are introducing restrictions on alcohol sales in the very center, in Śródmieście and Praga Północ," he continued.

"That's where we're starting. I listened to the voices of the residents, we conducted very thorough consultations, and this is precisely the result of those consultations," he went on to say.

"Politics, ladies and gentlemen, is the art of compromise and implementing programs that have a chance of majority support. And that is exactly what happened in Warsaw," he added.

14:52

"The Biggest Disinformer is the Polish Government". Mentzen: Don’t Believe a Single Word from Tusk

- For a week now, we've been hearing from our government that we should be particularly careful about disinformation, that disinformation is such a huge problem. And then what? It turns out that the biggest disinformer is the Polish government – says Sławomir Mentzen in a recording published on social media.

- First, they misinformed the entire world that a Russian drone destroyed this house, when it was a Polish missile that destroyed it. And now the government-controlled Polish Press Agency has sent out a dispatch where they attributed the following words to Trump: “We are supporting Poland with intelligence, but when I said I would help Poland, I meant after the war” – says the leader of Konfederacja.

- Immediately, a huge storm erupted online, claiming that Trump would only help Poland when we manage on our own, when it's all over, and therefore we cannot count on an alliance with the United States. Then it turned out that Trump didn't say that at all, that he meant he would send some planes, perhaps over Ukraine, only when the war in Ukraine ends – he stated.

- Therefore, beware of disinformation and do not believe a single word from Donald Tusk – he concluded.

15:24

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Announces Poland 2050's Bill:

The Alcohol Lobby Won't Dictate Our Laws.

"The tentacles of the alcohol lobby, as you can see, reach far, but they will not dictate laws to us. Next week, we are submitting a draft bill thanks to which: we will tighten the ban on alcohol advertising and marketing. No more alcohol whose packaging resembles products for children" - wrote Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on X.

"I hope that the Sejm will confirm that it is a chamber representing the interests of citizens, and not, as in Warsaw, bend under the pressure of the lobby" - she continued in her post.

16:12

Regardless of the Interpretation of President Trump's Words. Tusk Recalls Allies' Declarations of Support for Poland

"Regardless of the interpretation of President Trump's words, I wish to remind that France, Great Britain, the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, the Czech Republic, Portugal, and Italy declared additional aid for Poland following the drone attack" - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on X.

20:10

Morawiecki on Stanowski:

I'm Taking the Middle Road.

- I'm taking the middle road. I try to gather the best ideas from both, shall we say, different sets of ideas. I believe our formation has also operated this way for these 8 years. I will defend our many achievements, these 8 years - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

20:14

Morawiecki:

For 5 Years, I Haven't Insulted Anyone from Konfederacja or PSL

- For 5 years, I haven't insulted anyone from Konfederacja or PSL. They, both leaders and others, have often poured buckets of various filth on me - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

- We are dealing with parties to our left, one could say, Poland 2050, PSL, you yourself mentioned the Together party, and to our right. I strive to ensure that, on one hand, we have a very strong, clear vision for the development of modernity and innovation. That is what will decide Poland's success - he continued.

20:33

Morawiecki:

This government is wearing out much faster than I thought

- We are fighting for our victory, and that's how I must frame the issue, and that's how I want to frame it, because I believe this government is wearing out much faster than they thought. We have over 50 percent of government opponents, and in the twenties percent, supporters of this government - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

20:55

"You Can Call Him a Slacker." Morawiecki on Tusk: He Doesn't Want to Work 14-16 Hours a Day, He's More Known for Not Overworking

- The current prime minister, my successor, from what I hear, is actually rather a lazy person and a person who can be called a slacker, as young people say, because he doesn't deal with these matters, he's not interested in them. He doesn't want to work those 14-16 hours a day; he's more known for not overworking - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

21:39

"These Onet, TVN, Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita…". Morawiecki: Most Major Media Outlets Belong to Foreign Capital

- On the other side of the equation, we have a giant minus, which is that today in Poland we do not own the majority of industries. I am in your media. The majority of major media outlets belong to foreign capital. These Onets, these TVNs, Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita. Probably [Wyborcza too], it's largely Soros and this capital from American funds. Rzeczpospolita similarly. Radio Zet, RMF, German, American capital - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

22:22

Morawiecki:

Operational Implementation of the Polish Deal Was a Total Flop

- I don't know exactly what you mean, but I wanted to say that the operational implementation of the Polish Deal, as I assume that's what you mean, was a total flop, and I take responsibility for that as well. Moreover, the Minister of Finance also resigned over it, he bore political responsibility for it, and so did a few employees, because it was an extremely complicated project and not adequately prepared beforehand. It was a big mistake - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on Kanał Zero.

- But the same Polish Deal led to the largest tax cut in history, thanks to which Poles have 36 billion PLN more in their pockets - he continued.
