Friday marks the final day of the Sejm's sitting. At 9:00 AM, the second reading of the government's draft amendment to certain acts concerning the verification of family benefits eligibility for foreigners and the conditions for assisting Ukrainian citizens due to the armed conflict in that country will take place, and at 10:30 AM, the government's draft bill on a heating voucher.

In practice, this involves extending the maximum electricity price mechanism for households at 500 PLN/MWh until the end of the year. The proposal also introduces the aforementioned heating voucher. The first bill, in turn, concerns linking the right to the 800+ benefit for non-EU foreigners with their activity in the labor market. The coalition aims to pass these bills within two days, with voting scheduled during the evening block.

At 4:30 PM, the Sejm will consider the Council of Ministers' request for Parliament to consent to extending the temporary restriction on the right to apply for international protection at the state border with Belarus.

At 8:00 PM, the aforementioned voting block will commence, lasting until 9:15 PM, during which the appointment of the President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) will also occur, along with the election of the chairperson of the State Commission for Preventing Sexual Exploitation of Minors Under 15, and an attempt to elect judges to the Constitutional Tribunal (TK).

At 10:30 AM, a press conference will be held in the Sejm by Mariusz Błaszczak, head of the PiS parliamentary club, and Marcin Ociepa.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk will visit Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet S.A. (Dezamet Metal Works) in Nowa Dęba. A statement to the media is scheduled for approximately 11:20 AM.

- We need to use this situation to build Fort Trump in Poland. Not attack President Trump, as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sikorski is doing, but rather use this situation to build Fort Trump - said Mariusz Błaszczak in "Rozmowa o 7:00" on RMF24, when asked about Donald Trump's statement regarding the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones.

The US President said: "it might have been a mistake" and "I don't like this whole situation and I hope it ends." Poland's Foreign Minister wrote on X: "No, it was not a mistake."

- No, they did not reassure me. I am very grateful to President Karol Nawrocki for organizing these debates, due to the fact that I still see such a lack of will on the part of those in power to seriously address the issue of rearmament - said Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF24, when asked if the RBN debates had reassured him.

"Yes, I abolished small border traffic in 2016, when I was Minister of Interior and Administration. I was criticized then by those who today govern Poland, even though I was aware of the Russian threats," Mariusz Błaszczak stated on RMF24, when asked if closing the border with Belarus was a good move.

"We heard the statement of the incumbent Minister of Interior and Administration," he continued, when asked how long the border crossings should remain closed.

"Yes, I believe such a policy should be implemented. I implemented it when I was Minister of Interior and Administration. I understand that the current minister has changed his mind, and the current ruling political camp has also changed its mind," he went on, pressed on whether he agreed with the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

"No, I don't hear it," said Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF24, when asked if he heard Prime Minister Donald Tusk calling for dialogue.

"I do indeed hear incantations, but only incantations. We need to act, ladies and gentlemen; I hear incantations, I have heard these incantations many times, I heard these incantations after the Smoleńsk tragedy too, yes," – he continued, when pressed about statements concerning "exemplary cooperation."

"Did the Polish state pass the test after the Smoleńsk tragedy? Did it pass the test? Both then and now, Donald Tusk is the head of government, and I believe that to the same extent then, as it was then, so it is now," – he continued further.

— First and foremost, we must dissolve the team of prosecutors established by Donald Tusk. What is its purpose? It's busy charging soldiers for using their weapons in defense of the Republic of Poland, — Mariusz Błaszczak stated on RMF24.

— For the first time, the operational commander decided to shoot down drones. He did a very good job. But I believe he is under immense pressure, because prosecutors are analyzing whether to press charges against him. After all, you can't use weapons in defense of the Republic of Poland, can you? — he continued.

- The conclusions are as follows. All political forces, both the government and the presidency, share a similar view of the situation. In this sense, it is clear, based on the information we obtained, that these drones which crossed the Polish border, which intruded, were Russian drones, launched from Russian territory. We must counteract the disinformation operation that is being conducted. This is clearly visible online as well - stated Marcin Przydacz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- The military, as I understand it, is searching for all drones that fell on Polish territory or were kinetically shot down. Based on our information, it appears 21 drones crossed the border, according to data obtained by the Chancellery of the President. It's also possible—and this needs verification—that these drones had previously flown into Polish territory, remained for a few, or a dozen or so seconds, and then returned - Marcin Przydacz stated on Radio Zet.

- Given that the allied response was adequate, that the alliance was not successfully divided, and that Russia is also truly failing to provoke internal strife, the Russian side has not achieved its goals through this provocation. I believe so, and therefore, as a general principle, I can imagine that since it is not achieving its goals through such actions, perhaps these hybrid operations it conducts will change somewhat, but it cannot be ruled out that it will continue to try, - stated Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet.

- The US President spoke with President Nawrocki. Our president presented the comprehensive information that Poland and Polish services possess. I listened to that conversation and heard President Trump himself state that if something intruded onto Polish territory, posed a threat, it needed to be neutralized, and that is absolutely understandable - Marcin Przydacz stated on Radio Zet.

- For me, the most important thing is what President Trump said directly to President Karol Nawrocki. All other public statements might also be seen as certain signals and a readiness for negotiation - he continued.

- The facts indicate that these are Russian drones that were not just straying over Poland, but were heading with intent. They were clearly heading - at least some of them - in a specific direction, and it appears it was one of the NATO bases, - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz during RMF FM's "Morning Talk".

- Most of them, as we now know, were unarmed, meaning they were decoy drones. This is a certain type of demonstration on Russia's part. Nevertheless, it is an evident, deliberate, intentional demonstration, and not a mistake. Twenty drones, some of them from Belarus, flying in a specific direction, do not accidentally intrude into foreign territory, - she pointed out.

- His [Radosław Sikorski's] prime ministerial ambitions, which are probably already quite apparent, often surface, also during internal discussions, where recently he has allowed himself to make comments in closed circles that are de facto direct criticism of Donald Tusk. So I think a bit of friction is starting to spark between Donald Tusk and Minister Sikorski - stated Marcin Przydacz on Radio Zet.

- There probably won't be an open or full-blown war, but I think Mr. Sikorski's ambitions to unseat Donald Tusk are already increasingly apparent - he continued.

- This is a signal [that Washington is silent about the Nawrocki-Trump conversation], of course. The President also failed to disclose anything concrete from that conversation – and saying it was “very good” is not concrete; in diplomacy, “very good” simply means “it took place.” Evidently, nothing concrete, worthy of communication, was heard. The other side remained silent about it - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in “Poranna rozmowa” on RMF FM.

- I would strongly distance myself from such mutual accusations about who should try harder to win the favor of the United States, who succeeds, and who fails. Because, frankly speaking, this unhealthy competition in Poland serves no one. Let's focus on what the US is doing, and they are doing exactly the same to President Nawrocki, and to all the rest of us - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in RMF FM's "Morning Talk".

- Indeed, a rapprochement with Russia is underway; there's a certain ambiguous policy towards acts of aggression, particularly the unambiguous attack on Ukraine. After all, these interpretations were also quite varied: that it was Ukraine's fault, that if not for Ukraine, the war would not have started, which goes against the facts. Then there were other actions - she continued.

- The mere fact of receiving President Putin, a war criminal, with honors, is a very unequivocal act - she assessed.

- So our goal is to convince, to urge the US President to support Ukraine and to stand on this side, the just side of this conflict - she pointed out.

"We too wish the drone attack on Poland were a mistake. But it wasn't. And we know it," Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on platform X, commenting on the words of President Donald Trump, who suggested that the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones "could have been a mistake."

- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has begun a visit to Ukraine. He was welcomed at the Kyiv railway station by Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andriy Sybiha, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Radosław Sikorski himself published a joint video on his social media profile with Piotr Łukasiewicz, Chargé d'affaires of the Polish Embassy in Kyiv.

- Minister, I can report that after the latest drone and missile attack on Kyiv, the damage to our embassy and consulate has been repaired, and we are working normally under these conditions, the diplomat said.

- Good. On the night when 19 Russian drones flew over Poland, 400 drones, plus 40 missiles, flew over Ukraine. These were no mistakes, replied the Foreign Minister.

- I have been in contact with the NATO Secretary General since this morning. I have received information from the NATO Secretary General that later today, following what we reported after what happened, we will learn about NATO's further actions regarding the eastern flank, and I am certain that today I will be able to announce the results of our actions - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the Dezamet Metal Works S.A.

- Yesterday I received another communication from Prime Minister Starmer regarding greater UK engagement in military aid here, in Poland, and that urgently, which, of course, means strengthening Poland's defensive capabilities in these critical days - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Dezamet S.A. - Today, we in Poland also need unequivocal clarity. We know what has happened, we know that Russian actions are not accidents, they are not mistakes, and that is why full NATO mobilization, as well as an increase in our technical capabilities, in cooperation with our closest allies—and Great Britain is one such ally—is something that gives us a sense of security - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Dezamet S.A. Metal Works.

- "I am in contact with the Prosecutor General-Minister of Justice, who, as Prosecutor General, will assume full control over all actions related to this system, and all participants in the operation can feel absolutely secure. This will not create any problems for soldiers, whether Polish or allied, concerning their defensive operations in Poland and in Polish airspace. So please be absolutely calm and rest assured." - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Dezamet S.A. Metal Works.

- We expect further disinformation efforts aimed at shifting responsibility from Russia for what happened on September 10th. Poland, Polish services, and the Polish military possess sufficient information regarding who is responsible for the drone attack on Poland, and we will not be susceptible to manipulation and disinformation from Russia. Poland is confident regarding the sources, launch location, and the intent behind this action - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet S.A.

- There is on TVP, on TVP Info every day at 5:40 PM, 'Lie Detector' (Wykrywacz kłamstw), a program that will respond to manipulations and disinformation, and has been doing so since September 1st, primarily concerning our security. Also, every weekend, the program 'We Check' (Sprawdzamy) will also be dedicated to this. We will persuade all public media to get involved in this project of debunking disinformation. This is a matter of security today, and I am convinced that for anyone with a minimum of good will, true information about what is happening will be easily and widely available - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at Dezamet S.A. "These mechanisms of robbing the Polish budget are active again, and here we are dealing with a rather increasing trend, although they began operating after our government departed and are now working with ever greater force," said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

"Naturally, I call on the current government to curb this, but I don't know if these appeals will be effective," he continued.

"Some here might say that we are being paid the subsidy; of course, only a small portion of the subsidy is being disbursed, while the rest of the money is being withheld entirely illegally by the Minister of Finance," said Henryk Kowalczyk at a press conference.

"After all, I remind you, there is a resolution from the State Electoral Commission that accepts our financial statement, and yet Domański is withholding our funds. Currently, this amounts to almost 33 million Polish złoty that the Minister of Finance owes us, without interest," he continued.

- Our party does not receive money, state funds from the state budget. More precisely, it does not receive the vast majority of what we are entitled to [...], yet it has needs, and what we receive from the state is currently insufficient even for the party's day-to-day operations, Jarosław Kaczyński said at a press conference.

- And ahead of us is an election campaign, but even before that, challenges such as the November 11th march, a march against the migration pact, and also against Mercosur. [...] We have a major programmatic congress at the end of October, followed by a whole cycle of smaller congresses, and then yet another major one, he continued.

- So, in short, we have a huge number of various expenses, and that is why I am compelled to ask our supporters for financial backing. We have done this before; it met with a beautiful and widespread response then and allowed us to conduct and win the presidential campaign. Today, we must also win these next incredibly important elections, the parliamentary elections, he stated.

– A big thank you to those who have given us a lot, and some of them continue to give, but these sums are no longer sufficient. And a request to return to this practice from previous months, from the past year. A truly very heartfelt request – this is a matter of our country's future. What is happening in Poland threatens this future, a good future, he appealed.

- There is currently one chance for Poland, and that chance is the victory of PiS. And that is why I ask for support on this path to victory, he concluded.

- I, of course, see it differently. In my opinion, it was by no means a mistake. I am not at liberty to discuss what happened yesterday during the closed-door part of the security council meeting; I can generally say that this matter was also discussed there, specifically the matter of this "mistake" - said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference, when asked about Donald Trump's comments that Russian drones over Poland might have been a mistake.

- This is simply misleading - he continued.

- These were Russian drones. The rest is simply their propaganda, because they want to divide, they want to divide Poles internally, and they do everything to prevent these divisions from being bridged, and they do everything to divide us from other nations of the former Soviet sphere. [...] Every conscious Pole, especially a conscious Polish patriot, should know this - said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

"The matter of Mr. Mentzen and New Hope [...] is a subject for a longer discussion. We are dealing here with a socially Darwinist formation; after all, the proposals they put forward constitute pure social Darwinism," Jarosław Kaczyński said at a press conference.

"The issue is that some people linking us with them is a complete misunderstanding. We are on opposite sides of the barricade. We are a party of social solidarity and national community, while if they were to implement their program, Polish society and the Polish state would simply implode," he continued.

- The privatization of education, the privatization of healthcare, the privatization of forests – because they mention that too – the privatization of everything, and a huge part of Poles left in a completely hopeless situation, unable to live a normal life – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

- These are the kinds of pronouncements that were once commonly known in Poland from the statements of Mr. Korwin-Mikke, but no one took them seriously. And I would advise that, regardless of Mr. Mentzen's good result in the presidential elections, we nevertheless return to treating him appropriately. That is to say, it cannot be taken seriously – he continued.

"Thank you for a good meeting," wrote Radosław Sikorski, posting a joint photo with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

As indicated by the Foreign Minister, the topics of the meeting included: the exchange of experiences on drone technology, cooperation between defence industries, and the utilization of SAFE funds.

"Unless a miracle happens in the form of a complete change of views, I do not see such a possibility [of a coalition with New Hope], because how can we, a party that fundamentally created the mechanism of real social solidarity in Poland, cooperate with a party that represents the ideas of social Darwinism, which are disastrous in every respect and, moreover, are completely anachronistic," said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

"These are generally the dreams of young men who would like to live in a world where they can do anything, and everyone else doesn't matter," he continued.

"We are concerned with Poland's rapid development, not with a certain group being able to enrich themselves and have no regard for everyone else," he went on.

"In my opinion, no coalition with someone like Sławomir Mentzen can exist. Simply put, in a coalition there must be some element of shared views; they can differ on certain issues, one can have a protocol of disagreements, even a broad protocol of disagreements, but it cannot be such that some want to pull in one direction and others in another, because such a government simply won't work," he added, when asked if he ruled out a coalition with Sławomir Mentzen.

"Just now I spoke with Pete Hegseth about the recent Russian provocations on the Polish-NATO border. The Secretary of War assured me that Poland can count on the friendship and full allied support of the United States." - wrote Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on X.

- I thank the NATO Secretary General and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe for decisive action and decisions regarding Russia's aggressive policy. The Allied 'EASTERN SENTRY' – this is not just a strategic decision – it is an expression of responsibility for the security of the entire Eastern Flank of the Alliance - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote, referring to the announcement by Mark Rutte and Gen. Alexus Grynkewich about the activation of 'Eastern Sentry.'

- This is active deterrence and readiness for defense wherever it may be needed. We know that the heroic defense of Ukraine is linked to the future of Europe. Therefore, we are increasing our defense capabilities. In unity there is strength, and in readiness – victory - stated the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

- The crucial political matter is for all allies to accept the Polish – because it aligns with the facts – interpretation of the night's events. So that there are no doubts about who the aggressor is in this situation. So that there is no doubt that Poland and the entire eastern flank demand significantly greater focus, forces, and resources from the entire Alliance, leaving not the slightest ambiguity about the political and security consequences of that night's events, - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- The fact that the situation is unprecedented and has placed Poland and the entire Alliance in a state of direct threat – no one can have any doubts about that – he pointed out.

- "All of us, or almost all of us, were very keen – and I can certainly speak on behalf of all state institutions, and also, not on behalf of the President, but in constant agreement with the President – that it is in Poland's interest to shape the narrative of these events in line with Poland's security needs and in accordance with the facts," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- "And that every division, every difference of opinion – and the entire world is watching this, and I say this without exaggeration – whether Poland sends a unified signal, or whether someone in Poland succumbs to disinformation or Russian propaganda. The entire world is observing this also in order to draw practical conclusions," he continued.

- We have received with satisfaction the assurances and declarations made just a moment ago by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and by the Commander-in-Chief of Allied Forces in Europe, Gen. Grynkewich. These are precisely the kind of declarations and decisions we asked for, for decisive and swift action. The first decisions have been made within several dozen hours of our request, – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- We are dealing with a new NATO initiative called ‘Eastern Sentry’ – ‘Warta Wschód,’ ‘Straż Wschodnia,’ but the exact translation is less important. [...] It concerns not only the Baltic Sea but the entire eastern European flank of NATO. Here, we are primarily talking about the border with Russia and Belarus, – he continued.

- This is – in line with what we heard from the Commander-in-Chief of NATO in Europe and the NATO Secretary General – a direct response to our request and to consultations with allies. It is a direct response – as both NATO leaders in Europe confirmed today – to the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones. This is the most important conclusion of today, – the Prime Minister stressed.

- Not Poland, not Ukraine, not the countries that directly participated in the action to defend Polish airspace, but all of NATO confirms this fundamental issue – that Russian drones violated Polish airspace in a very aggressive and systematic manner, – he emphasized.

- NATO has decided that this provocation from Russia cannot and will not go unanswered, – he indicated.

- An absolutely crucial contest has been unfolding over the past few hours: whether it is the Polish narrative, the Polish interpretation of events, or the Russian interpretation of events, that will gain acceptance and support among our allies - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- This effort is not over. Poland's effectiveness will continue to require full unity on this issue, and to that end, I call on all political forces in Poland to truly stand as one on this specific matter – the Russian threat and Poland's defense capabilities - he continued.

- This is not just a slogan. The reaction of all our allies depends on it. Some, understandably, would seek comfortable, soft solutions – those that do not burden other nations with costs or certain risks. As long as we remain united in our interpretation, in our actions, in our relations with allies, and in our response to Russian provocations, we can be sure that the North Atlantic Alliance and our allies will be guided by our assessment of events - he further stated.

- I earnestly appeal to all Members of Parliament to treat this unity, which has been forged despite all political circumstances – unity between the President, the government, the main political forces, and all institutions – as our primary political asset. We truly must pass this test together - he added.

- As you know, [...] individual European states have decided on a practical strengthening of air defense and the defense of Polish borders with the help of equipment and additional soldiers, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the Sejm.

- We thank them for this; I believe the entire chamber and the entire parliament, we all share the conviction that this solidarity response from our allies is what we have been waiting for. This is, of course, the beginning; it is not the end of these actions, he indicated.

- After a conversation with MP, long-time employee of the Supreme Audit Office, and distinguished political activist, Mr. Tadeusz Dziuba, I have been authorized to withdraw his candidacy [for NIK President] - said Jarosław Kaczyński in the Sejm.
 

The Sejm almost unanimously appointed Mariusz Haładyj to the position of President of the Supreme Audit Office. His candidacy received 421 votes from 431 MPs present, including all PiS (Law and Justice) MPs in attendance, who, after withdrawing their own candidate, voted unanimously with the MPs of the ruling coalition. The Confederation parliamentary club, however, was divided, with 9 members voting in favor, 2 against, and 5 abstaining.
 

The Sejm failed to elect the candidates for the Constitutional Tribunal judges nominated by PiS: Marek Ast and Artur Kotowski – both garnered the support of only 181 MPs.

"Since the Sejm did not elect the Constitutional Tribunal judges, we will conduct the selection procedure again, and I will soon inform you about the deadlines for submitting further candidates," announced Speaker Hołownia.

- Just today, the President spoke with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer about this situation. Yesterday, a series of consultations were held, preceded by a conversation with President Trump, and precisely as I commented on that conversation, I stated that both the Polish and American leaders decided that this discussion should be conducted at the NATO level, in order to coordinate all actions - stated Marcin Przydacz on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- I assure you that in a direct conversation with President Nawrocki, President Trump very unequivocally stated what had happened there. Let's stick to that – that is the US position. However, regarding the reaction, also during that conversation, President Trump agreed that there must be a coordinated response here: first, a discussion at the NATO level about what each nation can do, and subsequently, the contribution and participation of individual nations - stated Marcin Przydacz on “Gość Wydarzeń” Polsat News.

- This will also depend on the efforts of Polish diplomacy and the Polish Ministry of National Defence. So get to work, gentlemen ministers, create such conditions so that more Americans want to come to us. And this is my appeal to both the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for national defence and the Deputy Prime Minister for foreign affairs: to fill with substance this good declaration that President Nawrocki negotiated, and not be offended by something or someone over the lack of presence in the President's delegation.
