However, I appreciate that he did not succumb to the pressure from those who wanted to challenge the result of the presidential elections, – he added, when asked if Hołownia was suitable as Speaker of the Sejm until the end of the term.

– This autumn, we will submit such a project. There are signatures, yes, there are signatures, but I very much ask that there be even more signatures, why? So that those who govern Poland today, the December 13th coalition, cannot throw these signatures into a shredder. There must be a very, very large number of these signatures – said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio Wnet, asked about the collection of signatures for the motion for a referendum on the migration pact.

– No [there is no shortage of signatures], because that is a threshold of 500,000; however, we want to collect many, many more signatures, and so we will launch another offensive, a signature collection drive, when the holidays are over – he continued.

– Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński announced a demonstration; we want to organize such a demonstration on October 11th this year, and then I assume we will submit the project with a large number of signatures – he added.

– Let me put it this way, Mr. Editor, as a long-time, experienced PSL member, I am a little surprised, so to speak, by this topic resurfacing again. Secondly, it is clear from the Polish People's Party's statute and its 130-year history that on ideological and religious matters, there is complete freedom within the Polish People's Party. Therefore, I am somewhat surprised when I hear my leaders, both Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz and Marshal Zgorzelski, attempting to speak on behalf of the Polish People's Party on these issues – stated Marek Sawicki on the '24 Questions' program on PR24, when asked about PSL's support for bills concerning so-called ideological issues.

– I want to emphasize quite clearly that my leaders should be aware that they are bound by the Polish People's Party's statute. There is a party congress in November. If, at the congress in November, they change the statutory provisions and introduce party discipline on ideological or religious matters, then, of course, MP Sawicki will also comply with that – he continued.

– Well, I'd say the Chancellery supposedly has some experienced people and some new ones. As Prime Minister Donald Tusk aptly put it yesterday: "first cats over the fence" – they're still learning the ropes. The Chancellery is still learning. It seems to me that when one takes on the most important office in the state, the office of the head of state, it's not a time for learning, but a time for professional action, and that professionalism is lacking. Because if, just to provoke, for fun, one tries to flood the Sejm with draft laws for which there are no prepared presumed regulatory effects and financing, well, then we have to clearly state that we're playing a game of cat and mouse. That is, the cat chases the mouse in such a way as not to catch it – stated Marek Sawicki in the program "24 Pytania" on PR24, when asked about the recent activities of the president and his chancellery.

– So it's high time for the President's Chancellery to engage in serious politics and serious matters. It should truly treat the state seriously, and not play at harassing those currently in power and preparing a place for its political circles in two years' time, because it will simply lose by doing so […] So, Mr. President, if you want to be, so to speak, a heavyweight contender, a statesman, then certain matters are simply inappropriate to pursue – he continued.

– I, however, attribute all of this to the holiday season. And frankly, the newly forming office, the forming chancellery of the President, has forgotten that holding office is not a holiday, that it's time to take off the shorts and put on suits and treat matters seriously – concluded Marek Sawicki.

– A month ago, we signed an agreement with the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs. In 2023, we ran in the elections as the party of entrepreneurs, and therefore, certain things need to be accelerated now. […] Currently, however, we have two serious projects prepared, which we will present in September. This is a project concerning healthcare reform, but also a very important project related to personal income tax, where we want to regulate issues concerning the tax-free allowance in a single act, specifically Prime Minister Donald Tusk's promise of 60,000, but we want to spread this over a three-year period. Furthermore, in this project, we are also preparing provisions regarding tax-free pensions, as this was our flagship point in the 2023 election campaign – stated Marek Sawicki on PR24's program „24 pytania” (24 Questions), when asked about PSL's 'legislative offensive.'

– I also remind you that we will address family income tax. In my opinion, and also in the opinion of experts from the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs, this tax-free allowance, this family income tax, should be a multiplier of the number of family members times the tax-free allowance. So, if it is 30,000 today, a family with three children should have a tax-free allowance of 150,000. If it becomes 60,000, it will be 300,000, so this should be taken into account. Furthermore, the provision recently mentioned by Chairman Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Deputy Prime Minister, concerning 800+ will also be included in this, so that 800+ covers those families that fall within the family income tax bracket. […] This is related to income tax settlement, and thus linked to professional activity – he continued.

– Our current GDP is already nearly a trillion dollars. If we convert that to our zlotys, it's over 4 trillion zlotys. A trillion dollars, over 4 trillion zlotys. And if reports published annually indicate that approximately 18-18.2% of economic turnover in the Polish economy constitutes the grey zone, then sealing just 1/3 of this fully covers the needs for the tax-free allowance. Therefore, it's high time to also address such simplifications and solutions, which entrepreneurs have prepared, so that from next year, by tightening economic turnover, the state budget can have additional revenues to fulfill these commitments, to which, so to speak, all coalition partners have committed, including the Prime Minister and the Polish People's Party – concluded Sawicki, when asked about the funding for the legislative projects proposed by PSL.

– Every scenario must be considered. We are a country bordering a place where a full-scale conflict is ongoing. We are analyzing all potential and possible scenarios – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing.

– Radiolocation systems, according to preliminary analysis, did not register any violation of airspace, which does not mean that we will not verify this aspect, and this is also one of the hypotheses that must be considered – he continued.

– These are small objects; drones are small objects, because most likely we are talking about a drone that crashed. It does not currently, I emphasize, bear characteristics that would immediately indicate a military nature, so it should also not be ruled out that we might be dealing with a smuggling drone. And acts of sabotage should not be ruled out [...] – he went on to say.

– At this moment, all agencies are investigating each of these three scenarios: a Russian drone, a smuggling drone, as well as an act of sabotage – he added.

– Also, in this analysis [of the causes of the explosion in the Lublin region], one should not rule out a connection with ongoing peace talks in the United States […] and the provocative actions of the Russian Federation. I would not rule out such actions, because we have dealt with them many times – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing.

– It so happens that, according to the Romanian Minister of Defense, every time there was a meeting of NATO defense ministers, airspace violations occurred in Romania, with a drone entering Romanian territory, and the Romanian minister regularly updated us on this – he continued.

– There was no 'coalition of the willing' in Washington. That was not a meeting of the 'coalition of the willing'. The 'coalition of the willing' comprises over 30 states, which met yesterday with Prime Minister Tusk participating. Prime Minister Sikorski has participated in the 'coalition of the willing', and I participated a few months ago, depending on the subject matter – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing.

Therefore, the attempt to explain President Nawrocki's absence in Washington by misrepresenting the role of the 'coalition of the willing' will prove to be an ineffective attempt because it is simply untrue – he continued.

– I would ask that not all hunters be judged solely based on this incident […] in Poland, there is no collective responsibility for professions or professional groups – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing, when asked if he had revised his view on the PSL’s opposition to mandatory checks for hunters in connection with the arrest of a hunter who fatally shot a person.

– Of course, every such case where the law has been broken, and the court here has taken very restrictive measures, is unacceptable and a tragedy […]. As for checks, I am entirely in favor of checks for all gun owners […] and I am not in favor of stigmatizing any social or professional group – he continued.

– Let’s implement the same rules for all gun owners – he went on.

– I am always open to dialogue, conversation, cooperation, and understanding, but I will not agree to stigmatizing one group or taking any actions that imply only certain gun owners should undergo checks, while others are exempt – he added.

– Russia is once again provoking NATO states. – Indeed, in the last few days, over the past week, we have seen a significant intensification of efforts aimed at bringing an end to the war in Ukraine. And last week, exactly a week ago, we had three calls, previously prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister – stated Adam Szłapka during the "Fakty po faktach" program on TVN24, when asked about Poland's lack of a representative at the meeting of European leaders with President Trump in Washington.

As he said: – The first call involved the leaders of the most engaged European states: Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, and also Finland due to President Stubb's good relationship with President Trump. Poland and European representatives who were preparing the European position, a unified European position, which is crucial, for the conversation with President Trump. The same set, the same format of interlocutors was to participate in these discussions, and later in a broader "debriefing" meeting for the coalition of the willing. Yes, three such meetings were prepared, and in all three meetings, according to the preparations, Prime Minister Donald Tusk was scheduled to participate.

– Immediately before the talks on Wednesday – that is, I learned about this change on Tuesday night into Wednesday – due to, let's say, a suggestion from the Americans that they traditionally prefer to speak in a presidential format, President Karol Nawrocki was to participate in that middle call. This call was intended to inform the President of the United States about the jointly developed European position. Of course, the Prime Minister and the entire government acted very responsibly in this regard, because we cannot allow any squabbling, any 'war over a chair' here. President, okay, he will participate in this meeting, informing President Trump about the European position. The government's position was conveyed to President Nawrocki, there was contact. After this meeting and after all these meetings, the Prime Minister proposed a meeting to the President… – Szłapka continued.

– I am mentioning this, firstly, to emphasize that Monday's meeting in Washington was exactly, point for point, in the same format as the calls with President Trump on Wednesday and Saturday. Therefore, if one wishes to participate, if one takes responsibility for something, then it comes with all the consequences. And here, as it were, greater activity was needed from the Presidential Palace, especially since there was full readiness for cooperation from the government's side, as well as from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Poland cannot have two foreign policies. Poland must have one foreign policy; there are no doubts about that, and there must be cooperation here – concluded the government spokesperson.
