Bielan:

It was a draw, with a slight edge to Civic Platform. For them, this could be a Pyrrhic victory.
- It was a draw, with a slight edge to Civic Platform. 9 permille difference, that's how it should be defined. However, of course, we will analyze the results very thoroughly, both at the national level and at the level of individual constituencies - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - Before the elections, we assumed that we wanted to win at least 19 seats and 35% support. [...] We won 20 seats, over 36%, but we narrowly lost to Civic Platform. Meanwhile, for Civic Platform, this could be a Pyrrhic victory, because they clearly absorbed the support of their coalition partners with their policy in the final days of the campaign - he stated.

08:07

Bosak:

Soldiers have the right to use weapons against those destroying border fortifications and crossing the border illegally

- Polish soldiers have the right to use weapons against individuals who destroy our border fortifications, illegally cross the border, and do not obey orders. If we agree that weapons cannot be used, and I will remind you that we have various types of weapons, for example, we have smoothbore weapons, long-range stun guns, which could be used. Apparently, we are 7 or 8 years behind Hungary – stated Krzysztof Bosak in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

08:09

Bosak:

Previous and Current Governments Flex Their Muscles While Soldiers and Border Guard Officers Are Underequipped

- We have truly gigantic neglects, and both the previous and current governments are flexing their muscles before the public, while soldiers and Border Guard officers are underequipped and lack adequate support, and this creates a bad atmosphere - stated Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Zet.

08:12

Bosak Announces Support for Government Project:

We Need to Refine the Regulations.

- Yes [we will support the government's project regarding the use of the army on the country's territory without declaring martial law or a state of emergency], we need to refine the regulations. The National Security Bureau (BBN) also submitted such regulations in the previous Sejm term, and interestingly, the ruling majority from PiS and Jarosław Kaczyński himself rejected these regulations. Now suddenly everyone is interested, which also shows the hypocrisy of politicians - stated Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Zet.

08:16

Bosak:

Discussions of a coalition with PiS in a leading role and swaying current coalition partners are pure fantasy

- In my opinion, no. We have a majority, and this majority is stable. If this majority falls apart, then in my opinion there should be early elections and the public should decide again. In my opinion, all discussions of a coalition with PiS in a leading role and swaying someone from the current coalition partners are pure fantasy - stated Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Zet.

08:17

Bielan on Exit Poll: A Gigantic Defeat, Ipsos Should Declare Bankruptcy
- We wanted to win these elections, to take first place. However, this result of 36% is significantly better than what the television stations showed on election night. After that, a lot of analyses began, calling it a heavy defeat [...], despite the fact that this result turned out to be completely false - said Adam Bielan in Polsat News's 'Graffiti'. - This is a gigantic defeat for the Ipsos company. I hope no one hires them to conduct exit polls anymore, because if an exit poll differs so much, this company should declare bankruptcy. [...] In reality, there shouldn't be any error at all, and the late poll should be perfectly accurate - he emphasized.

08:20

Bosak on PiS: They Imposed Media Censorship on Us, Promoted the Left When it Was Extra-Parliamentary

- I am not interested in any deals, I am interested in implementing our program. The time for that was when PiS had a majority in the Sejm and could have implemented whatever they wanted, because they also had their own president. Back then, they even rejected our amendments and imposed the harshest media censorship on us, harsher than on PO, and I will remind you that they promoted the Left when it was an extra-parliamentary formation - stated Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Zet.

08:36

Bielan on Kurski’s Defeat:

He Made a Mistake Here.
- I can talk about the lists in my constituency. We had the strongest lists in any election. 8-9 people were genuinely fighting for a mandate, and we secured two of them, just like 5 years ago. We have the second-best result in Poland; only in Podkarpacie was the support higher than in our Mazowieckie constituency - Adam Bielan stated in “Graffiti” on Polsat News. - The way [campaigns] are run changes with the evolution of media. The internet plays an increasingly significant role, and I believe that in these elections, candidates who heavily relied on the internet achieved relatively better results than ‘analog’ candidates who were not present online - he assessed. - This also applies to, for example, Jacek Kurski on the Mazowieckie list. I think he made a mistake here by being not very active online - he added.

08:50

Bielan:

It's Only the Second Day After the Elections, and the Third Way is Already Cracking at the Seams
- It's only the second day after the elections, and the Third Way is already cracking at the seams. We already have leaders of Poland 2050 claiming that the PSL is actually weighing them down [...] This election result will mean gigantic problems for Donald Tusk - said Adam Bielan on Polsat News's "Graffiti." Asked about Jacek Sasin's proposal to Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, he replied: - We made such an offer directly after the parliamentary elections, and the PSL rejected it then. Did they benefit from it? I don't think so. The election results, in which the Third Way did not cross the coalition threshold, show this. - Such offers are not made in a television studio. As I understand it, this was [Jacek Sasin's] statement directly after the European elections, as part of an analysis of the results. The Third Way definitely needs to do something, otherwise it will perish - he continued.

08:52

Bielan:

The Governing Coalition in its Current Form Will Not Survive Until the End of the Term
- We [in the governing coalition] have a complete programmatic divergence. [...] Nothing connects them, other than the desire to remove PiS from power. I am convinced that the coalition in this form will not survive until the end of the term - said Adam Bielan in 'Graffiti' on Polsat News. - Whether they will maintain a majority - I don't know. Much will depend on the result of the presidential elections. We, as PiS, must start preparing for these elections already - he added.

08:59

Bielan:

Tusk is Paving the Way for a Brussels Move to Become EC President
- I think, and this is how I interpret Tusk's statements from election night, that he is thinking about it [becoming President of the European Commission]. I believe he is thinking about it personally. [...] He is clearly preparing the groundwork. Whether he will decide to leave Polish politics for Brussels once again - I don't know. Such speculations have been circulating in Brussels for weeks - said Adam Bielan on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

09:20

Kierwiński:

Victory over PiS Shows People Want Accountability

- A very symbolic victory for Donald Tusk over PiS after 10 years, it gives wings, it gives more energy. It shows what the voters' expectations are, it shows that voters expect even stronger, tougher accountability, not as a political vendetta, but in the name of restoring normality in Poland – said Marcin Kierwiński in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

09:31

Kierwiński:

It's Not Unusual for the Interior Minister Not to Know About This

- The fact that normal procedures are in place and the Border Guard informs relevant units is really not unusual for the Minister of the Interior not to know about it. I, as a minister, probably don't know and my predecessors and successors probably don't know about many things that are happening. We don't know because the services are operating normally and implementing normal procedures – stated Marcin Kierwiński in the program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I believe that from the moment these soldiers were detained, full information should have been sent to the Minister of National Defence. [Yes] those who neglected this matter, the head of the Military Police, for sure, the question about the vertical commanders of these soldiers, whether they were informed about it, what knowledge they had, and to whom they reported it. If [the head of the Military Police] neglected to inform his superior, the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for security, then yes [he should have been dismissed in June] – he added.

10:08

Duda Ahead of B9 Summit: I Will Propose Raising NATO Defense Spending to 3% of GDP
- In a moment, we will begin the first part of our annual meeting, as always before the NATO summit, the meeting of the Bucharest Nine […], the eastern flank of NATO. As always, we will discuss security issues. We all know what situation we are in today; a war is currently raging beyond our borders - said President Andrzej Duda at a press briefing in Riga. - Today, we all support Ukraine, which is defending itself, the defenders of Ukraine, […] but above all, we are building the defense potential of our countries. […] We must strengthen ourselves and, above all, build our security. Hence, among other things, I will certainly put forward my proposal here, which I will also submit at the NATO summit in Washington, that defense spending in NATO member states should be raised to the level of 3% of GDP. This should be the lower limit today - he emphasized.

10:21

Tusk to Voivodes: Your Service is Not Routine Administration, But Constant Readiness for Crisis Response

- Białystok has become a place that is, in a sense, symbolic. It's a rather ominous and at times disheartening symbolism. We are talking here not only about illegal immigration, but also about other tensions and threats stemming from the aggressive policies of our eastern neighbours, Belarus and Russia. Here, in Podlasie, in Białystok, many of these problems are focused like in a lens for obvious reasons. But I would not want any of you, the voivodes from other provinces, to think that this full mobilization of state administration only concerns the border provinces on the eastern side. This morning, together with Minister Siemoniak, I visited the local delegation of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with the voivodes.

- The situation is such that it requires your full concentration, that of your officials, and your and my experience. Mine, truly many years of it from the previous two terms, leads to one truth. Minister Siemoniak recalled today, and our reflection from the times of dramatic events many years ago, that a voivode proves themselves in crisis situations, that your mission, your service, does not consist of routine administration from one to one, but of constant readiness to respond to crisis situations - he continued.

10:29

Tusk to Voivodes: Today, No Priority Other Than Broadly Defined Security is Possible

- Today, we must realize that in connection with the war in Ukraine and Belarus's aggressive policy on the border, we are facing a real threat related not only to disinformation and cyberattacks but also to physical acts of sabotage and diversion across the country. That is why your presence here today is so important, so that we can say very clearly and strongly that being a voivode today means something different than it did a few years ago, that you must be ready for truly intensive work in the area of broadly defined security. Today, there can be no other priority, neither for the central government, for the government, for the EU, nor for regional, local, state, and self-governmental authorities, than broadly defined security - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with voivodes.

10:33

Tusk on Arrests of Individuals Involved in Acts of Sabotage and Diversion:

We Have Reasons to Believe These Are Not the Last Such Incidents.

- The fact that in just these past few, dozen weeks we have arrested 10 people directly involved in acts of diversion and sabotage in Poland, and that we have reasons to believe these are not the last such incidents, shows how important and somewhat different from the past is your mission as heads of government administration in your respective voivodeships - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with voivodes.

10:46

Tusk on the Election of New EU Authorities:

We Will Build Poland's Influence in These Areas.
We will soon be electing EU authorities, and I will absolutely insist that Poland must have influence on security, energy security, and the neighborhood, so we will build Poland's influence in these areas, but in order to ensure it is well-coordinated with the work of the entire government, the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, and state administration, services. From today, we will build a mechanism of full synergy. I received with great satisfaction a report today from the head of the ABW delegation here in Białystok, stating that cooperation with services and state administration is exemplary in this matter, very flexible, modern, devoid of bureaucratic routine, and that due to the rather dramatic situation at our border, this type of model is precisely what is needed – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with voivodes.

10:49

Czarnek:

If Tusk hadn't 'eaten' Third Way, local election results would have been repeated

- If on October 15th you had offered me election results such that Tusk is 0.9% ahead of us, but the December 13th coalition collectively has 209 seats, I would have taken it blind. The election results are what they are. Instead of decreasing, we increased our percentage support, and Tusk 'ate' the appetizers. If he hadn't 'eaten' the Third Way, the local election results would have been repeated. However, he ate the appetizers and is 0.9 percentage points ahead of us - stated Przemysław Czarnek in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:52

Czarnek:

I feel sick listening to Tusk, who denied the hybrid war for the last 3 years

- I feel sick listening to Tusk, who for the last 3 years denied the hybrid war, denied the fact that his political allies, Putin and Lukashenka, were bringing in migrants from North Africa and Arab countries to destabilize Poland. He spat on the Polish state abroad, he spat on the Polish uniform together with his companions who went there to the border to destabilize the work and service of our uniformed services, and today he says that the Constitution and laws did not foresee such behavior - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Plus.

11:16

PiS Proposes a Draft Resolution:

We Are Returning to the Idea of Suspending the ETS.

We are returning to the idea of suspending the ETS, to freezing it. When the ETS began its operation, it was 7 euros, today it's 70, and there were moments in 2022 when it was over 100 euros. What does this mean? We had a deficit at that time of 25 billion. So we will very strongly pressure the Polish government, we will strengthen it in its endeavors to suspend the ETS, hence this resolution, and I hope that all political forces in parliament will adopt such a resolution – stated Waldemar Buda at a press briefing in the Sejm.

12:03

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Poland Has Not Been in Such a Difficult Position Since '89

- Since gaining full sovereignty, the Republic has never been in such a difficult position, linked to hybrid attacks and the war in Ukraine. With everything happening in cyberspace, with enormous attacks on the border, which in recent weeks have taken on the dimension of organized groups attempting to cross the border and attacking Polish officers and soldiers. This is the greatest struggle the Polish state has waged for its security and its future since the end of World War II – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

12:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Murder of a Polish Soldier:

The Bandit Who Killed Him Will Be Caught.
Firstly, I want to say - the Republic will do everything and will not rest until the bandit who brutally, in a bandit-like manner, fatally attacked a Polish soldier is caught. The Republic will not rest until this bandit is apprehended – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

12:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Two Out of Three Triple Jumps by TD Went Very Well, One Worse – and This Must Be Clearly and Explicitly Summarized

- Firstly, regarding the entire electoral triple jump, two of the TD's jumps went very well, one worse, and this must be clearly and explicitly summarized. Without our result in 2023, PiS would not have been removed from power, without votes for TD. We would not have won in many local governments two months ago, when we received 14%. I will remind you that we have over 70 provincial councilors as TD, and thanks to these councilors, a coalition other than PiS may be possible in most regional assemblies – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

13:00

Tomczyk on the East Shield:

In the Coming Days, We Will Appoint a Steering Committee

- The Council of Ministers has adopted a resolution that clearly states the East Shield is becoming a binding project for the Republic of Poland, and Poland will ensure a minimum of PLN 10 billion for its implementation. In the coming days, we will appoint a steering committee, which will consist of representatives from individual ministries dealing with this matter, so that we can commence implementation as quickly as possible. The planning of the East Shield has been underway for many weeks at the General Staff – stated Cezary Tomczyk at a press conference.

14:11

Siemoniak Announces Reinstatement of Abolished ABW Delegations

- The Prime Minister, before a meeting with voivodes today, visited an ABW delegation, noting the intention to reinstate the 10 ABW delegations abolished by Prime Minister Szydło's government. They will begin to function again from July 1st – stated Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference.

- Today's meeting with the voivodes very strongly highlighted their role. Voivodes are representatives of the government in the field; today this means a complete focus on security matters, and the prime minister has obliged the voivodes to cooperate closely with all services, as well as with local governments, because everyone is responsible for security today – he continued.

15:33

Hołownia with Parliament Speakers: We Have Succeeded in Creating a Unique Dimension of Cooperation within the EU
- Over these two days, we have proven that we have managed to jointly [...] create a dimension of cooperation between parliament speakers that is unique within the EU. […] I am very pleased that we are managing to maintain this bond, and we will do everything to further develop it. […] We will also extend an invitation to our format to the Speaker of the Parliament of Finland, because Finland is a country that shares the same borders and the same problems - said Szymon Hołownia in Białystok, during a statement summarizing the two-day summit with the speakers of the parliaments of Ukraine and the Baltic states. - With the joint declaration we adopted […], we have shown that we think together and see together. We speak the same language when we look at what is happening today in our part of Europe. […] I am glad that before the [NATO] summit in Washington, we had the opportunity to talk for a moment and agree that we would like to find a place to speak together during this important event - he continued.

16:01

Tusk Releases Data on Soldiers Being Handcuffed During PiS Rule:

There Were No Sensational Articles.

- During the PiS government's tenure, the Military Police handcuffed detained soldiers over FIVE HUNDRED times. No one was outraged, there were no sensational articles, no one demanded the resignation of the Minister of Defence, and the president did not convene the National Security Council. Intriguing - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter.

16:14

Duda:

The NATO-Russia Founding Act Must Be Declared Dead, De Facto Terminated

- The NATO-Russia Founding Act - we are of the position that this act has in fact not been in effect for a long time. We believe that Russia has repeatedly violated this founding act, rendered it void, and there is no point in returning to it. We simply need to declare this act dead, de facto terminated, and move on, accepting that such an agreement between NATO and Russia no longer exists - stated President Andrzej Duda during a meeting of the Presidents of Poland, Latvia, and Romania, and the NATO Secretary General with media representatives.

16:22

Duda:

As a Polish state, we will pursue the soldier's murderer to the bitter end

- I want to assure you of one thing. Namely, as a Polish state, we will pursue the murderer to the bitter end, meaning we will pursue him until we catch him and apprehend him. Appropriate recommendations were issued in this regard yesterday, and actions are underway - stated President Andrzej Duda during a meeting of the Presidents of Poland, Latvia, and Romania, and the NATO Secretary General with media representatives.

16:45

Duda Appeals for Calm Amidst Rumors Surrounding Soldier Detentions

- Yes, this matter was also discussed at our meetings yesterday. It was discussed both at the National Security Council (RBN) and during my visit to the troop assembly area, where I spoke with representatives of the Military Police, who explained the details of the detention to me. And I can say this – as I stated yesterday, this matter requires a calm and very factual analysis, and that's how it should be handled. Please remember that the military present at the border consists not only of soldiers who are currently carrying out patrol duties on the border but also of the Military Police, which is also part of the military and is also present at the border. Therefore, we discussed this issue – stated President Andrzej Duda during a meeting with the presidents of Poland, Latvia, and Romania, and the NATO Secretary General, with media representatives.

- I appeal to everyone for calm regarding this matter, because many rumors and untruths are appearing about how the soldiers were detained. This matter is being analyzed. Regarding the issue of informing, we also discussed this with the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence (MON) and with the command of the Polish Army. And appropriate conclusions in this regard have been promised to be drawn. Suitable provisions will also be included in the proposed new legislative solutions – he continued.

20:27

Bosak on Confederation's EP Election Results:

More Women and Workers Voted for Us Than for the Left.
- In my opinion, our main success in this election campaign is that more women voted for us than for the Left, and we have brought more women to the European Parliament than the Left has... The second matter is, more workers, or people doing manual labor, voted for us than for the Left, and the third matter... for the first time in the older generation, we have a few percent of support. In my opinion, some people who were fixated on either Jarosław Kaczyński or Donald Tusk, looking at how the restoration of the rule of law in the style of Tusk and Bodnar looks, or looking at how disappointing the end of the PiS government was for the patriotic, right-wing voter, are looking for an alternative, and we want, with all humility, to present that alternative - said Krzysztof Bosak in TVP Info's "Question of the Day".

20:36

Bosak on a Call from a Former PO MEP:

More and More Mainstream People Agree With Us.
- One of the former Civic Platform MEPs called me recently, and it turned out he fully agrees with what we are saying, not what Platforma is saying, regarding the current effects of European Union policy. It's astonishing to me that more and more people from the mainstream agree with us, and these are people from business, and people who have been experts for years with Platforma, but also with PiS – Krzysztof Bosak said on TVP Info.

20:39

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Actions of the Military Police:

In the Face of Upholding the Dignity of the Uniform, We Are Changing Regulations.
- The Commander-in-Chief of the Military Police has no obligation to inform about detentions in any of the cases. These are also ongoing proceedings, there are investigations. Yesterday I presented explanations at the National Security Council, today I also spoke broadly about them at a press conference. […] I will now introduce slightly different regulations regarding even broader information disclosure - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i” (The Dot Over the i). - I knew that an incident had occurred where the use of a weapon would be analyzed, whether it was proper or not. I did not know about the detention and the use of direct coercive measures in the form of handcuffs - he continued. - When we prepared the report, presented today, direct coercive measures in the form of handcuffs were used 570 times from 2021 to the end of May 2024. The decision on what coercive measure is applied is made by the intervention group that carries out the detention - he added. - We decided that in the face of upholding the dignity of the uniform, the honor of the soldier, we are changing the regulations so that this is a last resort - he stated.

20:40

Bosak on Braun's Potential Controversial Behavior in the European Parliament:

They've Seen It All Before. There's Nothing to Worry About.
- They've seen it all there, really. Communists have come and gone, the real ones, who used to hang, I saw it myself, the hammer and sickle flag on their desks in the European Parliament [...] and true far-right extremists have come and gone, not just those criticized by some, but those with genuinely extreme views. They've seen it all there, and it doesn't impress anyone - said Krzysztof Bosak on TVP Info, when asked about Grzegorz Braun's potential controversial behavior in the European Parliament. - In general, this is not a topic for discussion, there is nothing to worry about - he continued.

20:46

Bosak on Push-backs at the Border:

Exactly What a Border Guard with a Humanitarian Approach Should Do.
- I believe that pushing an illegal immigrant back to the proper side of the border is precisely what a border guard with a humanitarian approach should do. This year, we are celebrating the centenary of the Border Protection Corps. The Border Protection Corps, which ensured our security before the war, did not hesitate to shoot those who attacked us - said Krzysztof Bosak on TVP Info. - First, smooth-bore weapons [...]. If they did not react to shots from smooth-bore weapons, there are tasers that allow shooting from a distance [...] better gas launchers than these small, hand-held ones, you can use a watering can [...] if they did not react to such [...] soft measures, then harsher measures are used. Warning shots, and as a last resort, live ammunition shots - he continued.

20:54

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I Stand with the Soldiers. I Believe Everything Will End Well in the Course of Proceedings
- It wasn't activists, or a foundation, because I've heard such opinions somewhere too - it was the commander who made the decision, after a double analysis by a team of experts of the material provided by the Border Guard, these recordings. I stand with the soldiers. I believe that in the course of these proceedings everything will end well, just as other proceedings related to the use of firearms have been discontinued. No charges were filed, only in this case - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i” (Dot on the i).

21:10

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

First the Belarusian regime used women and children. Today, they are specialized groups of bandits.
- The nature of the operation has changed there. First, in the initial weeks, even years, the Belarusian regime used women and children. Today, these are specialized groups of bandits who attack the borders and the soldiers of the Polish Army. They have brought one to death. [...] The Polish state will make every effort and will not rest until the bandit who took the life of our soldier is punished and caught. We will do this until it is successful - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

21:13

It's Worth Considering Whether the Coalition with the PSL Will Endure. Mucha on 'Dramatically Different Views' Between Parties Forming the TD
- When it comes to Poland 2050, most of us are for the liberalization of abortion law, but there is the PSL, with whom this coalition is, of course, at this moment worth considering whether it will endure, in what formula, possibly. [...] I have the impression that both the structures of Poland 2050 and the structures of the PSL are today very strongly considering whether this project should be continued or not, and it seems to me that neither one nor the other party has made a decision on this matter yet - said Joanna Mucha in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - I have the impression that this project was necessary to win against PiS, and I have the impression that in this project we have blurred ourselves so much, we are a truly progressive party, I know what we are talking about, I know what the discussion is about on various internal forums, and I have the impression that we constantly had a hook at the back that was pulling us down precisely because the coalition partner has dramatically different views compared to us on very many issues. I believe we should return to our clarity, I believe we should return to what we stood for - she continued. - I don't know, perhaps we will loosen this coalition cooperation, perhaps we will allow ourselves more breathing room, perhaps we will allow ourselves more clarity - she went on to say, when asked how this could be achieved, by renegotiating the coalition agreement.
