Wawer skeptical about the right-wing Senate pact:

I would be surprised if there was genuine interest in PiS.

- We are preparing ourselves, as far as this Senate pact is concerned, it's written on water and we don't have any great expectations, not because of the president, but simply because of the attitude of PiS politicians - said Michał Wawer in Polsat News, when asked about the right-wing Senate pact.

- Especially Jarosław Kaczyński himself, his attitude towards Confederation is still very confrontational [...] the general attitude of not really considering a broader, right-wing coalition - he continued.

- Frankly, as of today, I would be surprised if there was genuine interest in such a Senate pact within PiS - he went on to say.

Wawer Praises Nawrocki:

The Best Presidency the Third Republic Has Seen.

"Definitely good. There are, of course, areas where it could be better, and there are probably a number of laws that I would have expected to be vetoed but were signed. However, in comparison, against the backdrop of all his predecessors, this is decidedly the best presidency that Poland, the Third Republic, has had to date." – said Michał Wawer in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti," when asked how he assesses Karol Nawrocki's presidency.

Wawer on the Bill on the Status of the Closest Person:

The Entire Idea Contradicts the Constitution.

- The entire idea contradicts the Constitution, and it's not a matter of social support, it's a matter of the legal order we have in Poland - said Michał Wawer on Polsat News.

- The Constitution clearly defines marriage, it clearly defines that marriage is to have special privileges, and this law stands in contradiction to all of that - he continued.

- It attempts to introduce an institution that is essentially no different from marriage, yes, it is de facto marriage, while at the same time allowing same-sex unions and questioning the order where only marriage is to have these special privileges, it introduces an institution that is not marriage but receives all these privileges - he went on to say.

Wawer:

German business is deeply intertwined with Russian business and elites, and I am convinced they have a plan for what happens the day after a ceasefire

- We should look realistically and realize that not only the AfD, but the entire German political class thinks this way. They are already waiting, they are already calculating... here we have open discussions, but how many informal, secret meetings there have been, no one knows - said Michał Wawer in Polsat News.

- German business has been very strongly connected with Russian business and elites for a very long time, and I am convinced that they already have a plan at this moment for what will happen the day after any ceasefire is concluded - he continued.

- We should also have such a plan. I am not prejudging what kind of plan it should be, but there certainly shouldn't be a situation where, under the influence of German lobbying, sanctions are lifted, business for the entire European Union resumes, cooperation with Russia restarts, and we remain here as the sole Rejtan, sacrificing ourselves for Ukraine... and not participating in what everyone else benefits from - he went on to say.

08:23

Wawer on exhumations:

Ukrainians are feeding us these consents drip by drip.

- We shouldn't be fooled by individual consents for individual exhumations. I have the impression that in recent months, on average once a month or once every two months, news breaks that one consent has been issued here, and it's announced as a breakthrough, as if they finally agreed to everything - Michał Wawer said on Polsat News.

- The Polish public is simply being told that everything is fine now, everything is sorted out, but it isn't - he continued.

- We are talking about hundreds of locations where research should be conducted, and Ukrainians are feeding us these consents drip by drip, yes, they simply give one consent every few weeks, instead of simply initiating the process - he continued.

08:29

Wawer:

The order should be accepted, but we should seek impactful actions that show Poland cannot be trifled with

- Of course, the order should be accepted, but as you say, it is a purely symbolic matter, and we should seek concrete actions that will simply be noticed, be impactful, and show that Poland cannot be trifled with - said Michał Wawer on Polsat News.

- Unfortunately, the best times for pursuing Polish interests in relations with Ukraine are behind us; Ukraine is no longer as dependent on Poland as it was a year or two ago, but we still have tools with which we can influence - he continued.

- We can discuss whether Poland should pay for Starlinks, we can discuss whether Poland should participate in a loan taken out by the European Union for Ukraine - he added.

- These are all things that we, as Konfederacja, opposed entirely, but for which we could negotiate something in return - he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz Appeals to Ukrainian Authorities:

It's Not About Humiliation. It's About a Gesture of Maturity, Responsibility, and Respect.

- Dear friends from Ukraine. I say these words with respect, goodwill, and a sense of community that has united our nations after Russian aggression. Poland stood by Ukraine from the first hours of the war. We opened our borders, homes, schools, and hospitals. We provided humanitarian, military, logistical, and political aid, because we know that a free Ukraine also means the security of Poland and our entire part of Europe - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a recording published on X.

- But precisely because of this, I must say clearly: the decision to name a Ukrainian military unit after the UPA heroes causes deep pain, concern, and opposition in Poland - he continued.

"For Poles, the UPA is primarily a symbol of crimes against civilians"

- We understand that for some Ukrainians, the UPA may be perceived through the lens of the fight against Soviet enslavement. We understand that a nation defending itself against Russian imperialism today seeks symbols of courage and resilience. But for Poles, the UPA is not a neutral symbol of the fight for freedom. For Poles, the UPA is primarily a symbol of crimes committed against defenseless civilians - the head of the Ministry of National Defense continued.

- In the years 1943-1945, tens of thousands of Poles were murdered in Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland. Women, children, the elderly. Entire families and villages were murdered. Many victims still have no graves, no crosses, nor a place where their loved ones can light candles - he emphasized.

"The memory of the victims cannot be a subject of political compromise"

- This pain cannot be invalidated. Genocide remains genocide. The memory of the victims cannot be a subject of political compromise. I also want to say clearly: this crime was not the work of the Ukrainian nation. The UPA also murdered Ukrainians who were saving Poles, warning their neighbors, hiding families, and refusing to participate in hatred. They are the true heroes. People who chose humanity in times of terror - stated the Deputy Prime Minister.

- Therefore, it is even more difficult for us to understand the elevation of the UPA to the banners of the modern Ukrainian state. Today's Ukraine has its own heroes, it has soldiers who defend Kharkiv, Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and the Ukrainian sky. Their courage is writing a great chapter of history. They do not need patrons who divide allies and wound the memory of the victims' families - said the Minister of National Defense.

"Aid for Ukraine does not mean that Poland has forgotten Volhynia"

- Poland's aid for Ukraine does not mean that Poland has forgotten Volhynia. It means that despite this tragic memory, we have managed to stand by the side of a nation attacked by Russia. All the more reason we have the right to expect Ukraine to respect Polish memory. This decision harms not only Polish-Ukrainian relations. It also harms Ukraine itself. It fuels Russian propaganda and provides arguments to those who want to destroy trust between our nations. But it is not the truth about Volhynia that serves Moscow. It is the silence about the truth and every gesture that drives a wedge between Poland and Ukraine that serves Moscow - announced Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"I appeal for a reconsideration of this decision and finding a way to honor the soldiers..."

- Therefore, I appeal to the Ukrainian authorities to reconsider this decision and find a way to honor contemporary Ukrainian soldiers that will not wound the memory of Polish victims. It is not about humiliating Ukraine. It is about a gesture of maturity, responsibility, and respect towards a nation that stood by Ukraine in its most difficult moment - added the Minister of National Defense.

- Poland will remain on Ukraine's side in the fight against Russian imperialism, but true friendship requires truth. And the truth is: for Poles, the state glorification of the UPA is unacceptable. I believe that Poles and Ukrainians can be a pillar of security for this part of Europe. We can together stop Russian imperialism. We can build relations stronger than ever before. But this future requires trust, and trust begins with truth, respect, and memory - he concluded.

Tusk on the Drone Incident in Romania:

I Warned Our European Partners Many Weeks Ago.

"Certainly, for the Romanian President, this will be, one way or another, the number one topic on his mind, for obvious reasons," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists before the EU-Western Balkans summit in Montenegro, when asked about the drone incident that occurred in Romania.

"For us, it is not a surprise. As you know, we are prepared. I also warned our European partners many weeks ago that various incidents, escalations, sometimes intentional, sometimes not, could be expected, but that the situation is generally moving towards escalation and greater tensions. Therefore, we must be prepared for this, and Poland is trying to be prepared," he continued.

12:37

Tusk Asked About Counter-Signature on Nawrocki's Decision:

We'll Return to This Topic on Monday, Tuesday at the Latest.

"We'll probably return to this topic on Monday, Tuesday at the latest" - Prime Minister Donald Tusk told journalists before the EU-Western Balkans summit in Montenegro when asked if he was considering a counter-signature on the president's decision.

Tusk:

Orlen's Market Value Surpasses Russian Giants

"Orlen is worth more on the market than Russian giants! It recently surpassed Gazprom, now it's Lukoil and Novatek's turn. Is it possible?" - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on X.

16:56

Tusk:

It's Not My Role to Authoritatively Declare if They Were Ukrainian or Russian Drones After Talking to the Romanian President

- I also had the opportunity [...] to talk with the President of Romania [...] about this explosion and the presence of drones [...] every scenario is possible when it comes to these kinds of incidents - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- It is not my role today, now, to authoritatively say after talking to the Romanian President whether they were Ukrainian or Russian drones. Either way, we are dealing with incidents that will cause some destabilization in places that are close to the war, close to these front-line situations - he continued.

- There is no doubt that this requires a lot of patience, a lot of caution - he added.

17:04

Tusk on the need for mutual respect:

We will draw the attention of our Ukrainian neighbors to this.

"This is also another reason why we will draw the attention of our Ukrainian neighbors to how important such mutual respect is, because they will be exposed to Russian provocations, they themselves are not perfect, so it would be good for them to understand that the help of Poland and the support of Poland and other European countries, but especially Poland, is something they should very, very much care about" - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

17:08

Tusk on Nawrocki's Reaction to Zelensky's Decision:

Completely Understandable.

- Following this unfortunate event, which was the decision announced by President Zelensky regarding the naming of a Ukrainian military unit after the UPA [...] and the completely understandable reaction of President Nawrocki - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- I would like to emphasize very clearly that I might have reacted differently, but certainly no one, and I am saying this also to our Ukrainian friends, no one will divide Polish public opinion, Polish authorities, when it comes to the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian war, but also when it comes to history, to the past - he continued.

17:15

Tusk:

Let No One Attempt to Divide the Government, the President, or Anyone Else Regarding the Assessment of Recent Events in Kyiv

- What was a very significant asset and a serious characteristic of our policy, regardless of the heated temperature of internal disputes here in Poland, was this truly unforced unity [...] I am speaking about the main political currents when it comes to our stance on Ukraine and Russia in the context of the Russo-Ukrainian War - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- Nothing will change here for sure, and let no one attempt to divide the government, the president, or anyone else when it comes to our assessment of what has recently happened in Kyiv. With absolute certainty, and this is also my intention, we will, together with the president and all such serious political forces in Poland, very carefully nurture Polish unity when it comes to the Russian and Ukrainian issues - he continued.

17:20

Tusk:

Ukraine Brought the Problem on Itself, Let Them Find a Solution

- I suggested to the Ukrainian side that they should seriously consider this evident crisis of trust, when it comes to at least historical emotions and the role of both political elites, Ukrainian and Polish, is to take care of mutual sensitivity - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- I suggested to the Ukrainian side that they should look for some solution. They brought this problem upon themselves, let them look for a solution. At the moment, talks are still ongoing between my people and the head of [...] President Zelensky's chancellery; we'll see, I think they will be looking for some sensible way out of this situation - he continued.

17:23

Tusk:

I hope arguments will finally reach Kyiv. If not, it will be hard business, not empathy, that decides our relations

- I understand that Ukrainians will honor the memory of those who fought against the Soviet invader, but I would not understand if they simultaneously wanted to honor the memory of those who murdered Poles, our closest allies - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- Perhaps these arguments will finally reach Kyiv, that is my hope. If not, it will mean that hard business, not empathy, will decide our relations. It's a shame, because we have invested a lot, and I personally too, in overcoming the demons of the past - he continued.

17:27

Tusk:

Under our government, Orlen is simply well-managed. No Obajtek-style stunts.

- Of course, sanctions have their significance, of course the war, but I would like to emphasize clearly, this also shows that under our government, Orlen is simply well-managed as well – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit, when asked what was the reason for the "stock market value of Orlen soaring."

- There are no Obajtek-style stunts, the kind that exposed Orlen to losses of hundreds of millions of zlotys. So we also have a reason for satisfaction, we can also show that even though we don't have our own resources, we don't have our own oil, but that our Polish company can become one of the European leaders in the oil and gas industry – he continued.

17:32

Tusk on Ziobro and Zondacrypto:

This Information is Stronger Than Any Indictment.

- Some people there were bothering me when I said that there is no doubt that Zondacrypto, but it's not even about Zondacrypto itself, but also about the money that is behind Zondacrypto, that it was also financing some politicians and some institutions associated with PiS and with Konfederacja - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit.

- I am not surprised that Mr. Ziobro also personally wanted to benefit from this money. You know what, this is stronger than court indictments, sooner or later Ziobro will answer in court, but in reality, this information is already stronger than any court indictment - he continued.

- Taking money into one's own account from what was at least a dubious mess like Zondacrypto, with Russian money in the background, I think that speaks for itself - he went on to say.

17:39

Tusk on the Krakow Elections:

A Candidate Will Be Known on Monday.

- I spoke with Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz [...] also about the situation in Krakow, and it seems to me that it would be sensible for us to put forward a common candidate, also for the hygiene of the coalition - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference on the plane after the EU-Western Balkans summit, when asked about a potential common candidate in the Krakow elections, which Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is hoping for.

- Although you have noticed that everyone already has their own candidate there, so some have hurried. But on Monday, a candidate from the coalition and PSL, or from the coalition, will also be known - he continued.
