President Continues in Switzerland

In the morning, a working breakfast will take place between the President of the Republic of Poland and the President of Switzerland with representatives of the business sector. At 10:00 AM, Karol Nawrocki will visit the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, and at 11:45 AM – the Paderewski Museum at Morges Castle.

Czarzasty at the International Book Fair

At 12:00 PM, Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty will participate in the opening ceremony of the International Book Fair.

Czarnek on ETS

At 2:00 PM, a conference will be held by the Vice-President of PiS and their candidate for Prime Minister, Przemysław Czarnek, with the participation of energy sector experts, titled "Time for Lower Bills - Consultation on the Law to Withdraw Poland from the ETS System".

Second Day of the Sejm Session

The Sejm will resume its deliberations at 9:00 AM with current questions, and at 11:15 AM, it will hear a current information report – at the request of the Left parliamentary club – regarding "the current state of the Ministry of Health's actions concerning organizational challenges and the stages of implementing a systemic model for the functioning of mental health centers".

At 12:45 PM, the second reading of the government's bill on the metropolitan union in the Pomeranian Voivodeship will commence. Today, the Sejm will also address, among other things, bills concerning public roads and a bill amending certain laws to deregulate the energy sector.

At 8:30 PM, the second reading of a committee bill of resolution celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America will take place.

At 9:15 PM, the Sejm will hear a committee report regarding the motion by private prosecutor Dorota Schnepf, represented by lawyers Wojciech Łączewski and Justyna Borucka, for the Sejm to consent to the criminal prosecution of MP Zbigniew Ziobro.

Bosak on Collecting Signatures for a Motion of No Confidence Against Cienkowska:

The Way She Runs the Ministry is a Cascade of Absurdities.

- We are collecting signatures from our club [for the motion of no confidence] and we will see how others react - said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- Recently, we managed to convince other clubs. I hope it will be the same in this case, because what Ms. Cienkowska is proposing and the way she runs this ministry is simply a cascade of absurdities, scattering money on unnecessary things - he continued.

08:04

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Asked About a Possible Nomination for Petru:

I Heard from Domański That He Doesn't Want It.

- This is the Prime Minister's decision. I heard from Minister Domański that he does not want it [Ryszard Petru in the position of Deputy Minister of Development]. He said so publicly. However, it is the Prime Minister's decision because the Centre club is, in effect, an extension of Civic Coalition today; it is not a signatory to the coalition agreement. Therefore, it is the Prime Minister's decision, and however Prime Minister Tusk decides, how large he wants his government to be, whom he wants in the government, it is his decision and his responsibility - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on TVP Info.

08:08

"An Unfulfilled Commitment": Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the Deputy Prime Minister Position for Polska 2050

- This was an unfulfilled commitment [the Deputy Prime Minister position for Polska 2050], and we said – issues are more important to us than seats. We will not fight for a seat now or leave the coalition because we are committed to the people, we are in the coalition, and we are getting things done - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on TVP Info.

08:09

Bosak on supporting artists:

I have zero or even negative trust that they will actually choose people who create something of artistic value.

- At the moment, the idea of privileging artists at the expense of the rest of society, and we don't even know if they will be artists, is about privileging a group of people in terms of pensions, who will be selected by some committee appointed by the minister - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

- I have zero or even negative trust that they will actually choose people who create something that has artistic value, regardless of whether privileging anyone's pensions makes sense - he continued.

- Please tell me, where is the line between an artist, for example, an employee of a company that conserves monuments and improves frescoes in churches – will they be considered an artist by the ministry, or will they be a private sector employee whom a construction company is supposed to pay? - he went on to say.

08:14

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

Today is the time for a decision on a fair tax reform and raising the second tax bracket

- Today is the time for a decision on a fair tax reform and raising the second tax bracket. Another half a million people have entered the second bracket, people who earn an average salary are suddenly taxed like the wealthy, at 32% - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on TVP Info.

08:15

Bosak:

If Dziemianowicz-Bąk claims the state subsidizes farmers and entrepreneurs, she shouldn't be in government

- Entrepreneurs and farmers are the people who feed our country, they are taxed in a hundred different ways. The Left is largely composed of economic ignorants. If Ms. Dziemianowicz-Bąk claims that the state currently subsidizes farmers and subsidizes entrepreneurs, it means she probably doesn't know her job at all and shouldn't be in government - said Krzysztof Bosak on Polsat News.

- As for farmers, if anyone subsidizes them, it's the European Union, and in the new budget perspective, they want to limit subsidies. A farmer who is unable to earn from their production simply disappears from the market - he continued.

08:20

Bosak on the Collegium Humanum Case:

I Voluntarily Gave My Testimony. In My Opinion, There Will Be No Charges Against Me.

- I don't like the situation where the prosecution and the Central Anticorruption Bureau have been conducting an investigation for several years, and the media are reporting that a motion is supposedly to be filed with the Sejm to lift my immunity, yet I have never been questioned by any state institution on this matter, nor has anyone even discussed pressing charges against me - Krzysztof Bosak told Polsat News.

- I got angry, I wrote a letter to the prosecutor's office asking them to clarify if they were interested in me in this case. I received a phone call, an offer to come and familiarize myself with the case. I went, two days ago in Katowice - he continued.

- I voluntarily gave full testimony, I answered all the prosecutor's questions, without any summons, no one summoned me [...] I responded to the documents shown to me - he went on to say.

- Nothing surprised me there, nothing worries me, in my opinion, there will be no charges, there will be no motion to lift immunity, mind you, for me, because [...] hundreds of people are covered by this proceeding and, mind you, this is interesting, more than one university is involved, and the case does not only concern things that happened in Poland, but also has cross-border dimensions - he added.

08:31

Bosak to Czarnek After His Post on Ukraine and UPA:

Now He's Woken Up?

"Better late than never," Krzysztof Bosak said on Polsat News, when asked about Przemysław Czarnek's post regarding "naming a military unit after UPA heroes." In this post, the Deputy Chairman of PiS demanded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summon the Ukrainian ambassador, also emphasizing that if this decision is not reversed, "Poland should move [...] to real political actions and consequences in bilateral relations, including the limitation of support."

"We said that such situations were occurring when PiS was in power, and where was Minister Czarnek then? Was he blind when Minister Rau was traveling to Ukraine and posing for photos with black-and-red flags?" he continued.

"This is nothing new. The cult of Banderism has been flourishing in Ukraine for many years, and they gave Ukraine everything they possibly could, and even more [...] without any conditions. So, when you were giving, Mr. Minister Czarnek, without any conditions, when your government gave everything Poland had and you had no conditions, now you've woken up?" he went on.

11:55

Kierwiński:

PiS is a State of Mind

- PiS is a state of mind. One of the MPs from that party, outraged in the Sejm today, shouted that the police had detained "two boys" in the case of false alarms. Firstly, not two but three. Secondly, not boys but criminals. And thirdly, thank the police for their actions! - wrote Marcin Kierwiński on social media.

11:58

New PiS Spot on Lex Kapela:

They Will Get Social Security Subsidies from Your Money.

- This is the Tusk government's new idea - Lex Kapela. They will receive social security subsidies from your money, and a well-paid commission will oversee everything - says the narrator in a new PiS clip published on social media.

12:23

Tusk:

Over 10,000 Polish Companies to Benefit from SAFE Funds

- We all worked hard so that today we can say: yes, this final touch is now visible and certain - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in his speech related to the signing of agreements concerning SAFE.

- European funds for SAFE are guaranteed. Poland is, without comparison to other countries, the most advanced when it comes to both projects and the preparation of full documentation, but this is not about procedures, this is not about documents - he continued.

- This is about very real undertakings that are crucial from the perspective of state security, European security, and therefore, inevitably, the entire North Atlantic Alliance - he went on to say.

- Over 10,000 companies, Polish companies, operating in Poland and paying taxes in Poland, will benefit from SAFE funds. These are contractors, subcontractors, and co-operators - he added.

12:30

By May 30th, We Allocated 100 Billion PLN in 40 Agreements. Tusk on SAFE

- This undertaking was extremely demanding, as we have to allocate these funds at a very rapid pace [...] by May 30th, we had allocated 100 billion zlotys in these large, comprehensive 40 agreements - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a speech related to the signing of agreements concerning SAFE.

12:34

Tusk:

We are spending money to avoid war

- Sometimes people ask me if we aren't spending too much money on defense. Isn't it a shame to spend that money, when it could be spent on something else. Some people believe the threat is still abstract. Why, in peacetime, should we spend such large sums of money - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a speech related to the signing of agreements concerning SAFE.

- There is one answer, and it is often given and it is true, although it may have already tired some people: we are spending this money to avoid war. The more we spend and the more wisely we spend these resources, ours, budgetary, European, and increasingly private, the better we utilize them in peacetime, the less likely this grim scenario becomes - he continued.

- The better prepared Poland is for defense, and the more aware an adversary, a potential aggressor, is of what we possess, the longer they will think before taking an aggressive step towards Poland - he went on to say.

- There is also a second answer. Because this truth is not entirely rosy, meaning, it's not as if we have peacetime in which we can calmly invest money in our defense to avoid any threats, because these threats and bad events are unfortunately our daily reality - he added.

12:40

Tusk:

Poland is Becoming a Leader in Europe's Security and Stability

- In this time full of changes, sometimes chaos, sometimes uncertainty, Poland is becoming a leader in Europe's security and stability. Poland has taken responsibility in its own interest, but also in the interest of others, in the interest of allies, for the stability of the eastern border. The East Shield is one of those elements of the SAFE program; we will also invest a lot of money from SAFE there - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a speech related to the signing of agreements regarding SAFE.

12:48

Tusk on Security:

I hope no one in Poland will question this need and duty anymore.

"I hope that as of today, no one in Poland will question this obvious need, this primary need of any government, meaning the primary need of citizens and the primary duty of any government, to ensure the security of the state, its borders, and its citizens" - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a speech related to the signing of agreements concerning SAFE.

12:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

This is the Fastest Modernization of the Polish Army in History

- In just four years, thousands of different types of equipment, skills, and actions will arrive in Poland. This is the fastest process of modernizing the Polish army in history. Never before have so many resources been allocated to the modernization of the Polish armed forces - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a speech related to the signing of agreements concerning SAFE.

13:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Funds for Services and the President's Veto:

We Didn't Let This Go.

- Due to the President's veto, services such as the Border Guard, the Police, and the State Protection Service were deprived of the opportunity for modernization, and the infrastructure for military mobility for Polish and allied armed forces - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a speech related to the signing of SAFE agreements.

- But we didn't let this go either. We have decided to expand the program of non-military defense preparations for the Polish state - he continued.

- And the released funds, which will be 100% allocated by the military, those 44.7 billion euros, 180 or 185 billion zlotys, will be 100% utilized by the army, and 17 billion will be released in the budget of the Ministry of National Defence and transferred to drone systems, anti-drone systems, multi-role helicopters, and individual equipment particularly needed during mobilization for the Border Guard and the Police. This task has also been completed. So, nobody suffered, nobody lost, despite the obstacles thrown in our way - he went on to say.

13:11

Kosiniak-Kamysz on SAFE Agreements:

An Absolute World Record

- These coming days, Mr. Prime Minister, even more so, because the latest reports and latest decisions, the culmination of negotiations, could result in as many as 59 agreements that we will sign, worth over 100 billion zlotys. This is an absolute world record – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a speech related to the signing of SAFE agreements.

13:17

Tusk on the potential lack of signature on the Polish-British treaty:

It would be a drama the President would probably deeply regret.

- I have heard some voices from the President's Chancellery, Nawrocki's, questioning the sense or the procedure for the Polish-British treaty, but I find it hard to believe that anyone could come up with such a dangerous and foolish idea as to block, for example, through the President's lack of signature, a treaty that simply strengthens Poland's security, also Great Britain's, but above all Poland's security - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN24.

- It would be a drama the President would probably deeply regret. Today, he certainly understands that he made a colossal mistake with SAFE. He added unnecessary work, a lot of hassle, and time for us, and we did as we decided, but not only the government, but Poland lost a lot of time and nerves because of it - he continued.

- In the case of the Polish-British treaty, no, I simply rule out such a risk. It would be something truly incomprehensible - stressed the head of government.

13:21

Tusk on Treaty Ratification:

The President Is Not Part of the Process, He Is the Finale of That Process.

- The President will soon be in office for a year. That is enough time to thoroughly understand the division of competencies between the government and the president. The government's role is to prepare the treaty and bring about its signing by the states that agree to it. The President's role is to assess and ratify it, if he deems such a treaty to be in order. The President is not part of the process, the President is the finale of that process, and this constant demand for more, wanting more, is unserious - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN24.

13:23

Tusk asked about Ziobro:

I am very disappointed by the conduct of some institutions and services.

- I myself am very disappointed by the conduct of some institutions and services. I would very much like to hold accountable all those who committed abuses, including Minister Ziobro, and to do so effectively. And I am trying to use all the tools at my disposal to act effectively. Unfortunately, sometimes I face inertia, sometimes blatant sabotage, also within some institutions, sometimes a lack of cooperation from third countries or strange actions, as we know. I also ask for understanding sometimes, because I don't lack determination and I will certainly not give up on this, but not everyone is helping - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN24.

14:07

Four Detained, More Arrests Likely. Tusk on False Alarms

- Interrogations are ongoing, four people have been detained, and there will likely be further arrests. So, it is certainly too early to precisely define why, whether someone was behind this, whether someone was paid, or if it was just an idiotic game played by computer geeks - Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in an interview with TVN24.

14:12

Tusk on what he told firefighters:

Don't let them convince you to cease your intervention.

- Today I had a ceremony with firefighters, with police officers, all those who fought the fire in Puszcza Solska. And I told them, the firefighters: don't let them convince you to cease your intervention now, such false reports have always happened - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN24.

14:15

Tusk on Service Actions Regarding False Alarms:

The Only Truly Outraging Matter is the Foolish Reaction of PiS Politicians and the President's Associates,

"The only matter that is truly outrageous here is the foolish reaction of PiS politicians and the president's associates, who attacked the Fire Brigade. What are they supposed to do, call around, ask their friends if it's definitely someone important's apartment? This is absurd. On behalf of the state, I have also apologized to the firefighters for them sometimes being victims of such foolish, political witch hunts," stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in an interview with TVN24.

14:18

Czarnek on Consultations Regarding Poland's Exit from the ETS System:

If We Don't Find a Solution, We Will Fall into Poverty.

- If we don't find a solution for this situation that is happening today, we will fall into poverty. And all statistics show this. In the last 10 years, Europe has reduced CO2 emissions by 30%, a success, right? Only during that same time, the world increased CO2 emissions by over 60%. One could say: then we Europeans are excellent and are fighting for the world. Only during that same time, when Europe reduced CO2 emissions by 30%, it also reduced its global industrial share by the same 30% - stated Przemysław Czarnek during consultations on the bill withdrawing Poland from the ETS system.

14:21

Czarnek at Consultations on Poland's Exit from the ETS System:

We Are Fighting So That Our Children and Grandchildren Do Not Live in Extreme Poverty.

- Today, we are fighting so that our children, our grandchildren do not live in extreme poverty. Because if we do not stop this process of deindustrialization of Europe, and we will not stop it if we do not ensure cheap electricity, as in China or the USA, then our children, our grandchildren will live in extreme poverty - stated Przemysław Czarnek during consultations on the bill to withdraw Poland from the ETS system.

16:50

Leśkiewicz Responds to Tusk:

A Manipulative Narrative.

- The government did not inform the President of the Republic of Poland, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, in advance about the content of the negotiated Treaty on Security and Defence Partnership, signed yesterday by the Prime Ministers of Poland and Great Britain - wrote Rafał Leśkiewicz on social media.

- Donald Tusk did this solely to launch a manipulative narrative today about doubts regarding the President's signature on the bill ratifying this agreement - emphasized the President's spokesperson.

- The Prime Minister's unserious move is an expression of political pettiness, and the repeatedly spoken words about acting above divisions for the sake of security are mere platitudes - he added.

17:52

KO Club Chairman: Presidential Representatives Were Informed of the Treaty's Assumptions with Great Britain

"The president's representatives were informed about the assumptions of the treaty with Great Britain. Why didn't they share this knowledge with Nawrocki? The president and Bogucki are responsible for the mess in the Presidential Chancellery. Instead of flexing their muscles, perhaps it's time to take a beginner's management course." - wrote Zbigniew Konwiński on X.

18:26

Leśkiewicz on his visit to the prosecutor's office:

I am a responsible official; if the prosecutor's office summons me for questioning, I will attend.

"I am a responsible official; if the prosecutor's office summons me for questioning, I will attend that questioning. I have presented what I had to say regarding this matter. Naturally, we consider this case, this investigation [concerning the urging of the president not to accept oaths from Constitutional Tribunal judges], to be politically motivated," said Rafał Leśkiewicz in the "Afternoon Conversation" on RMF FM.

18:31

Leśkiewicz on the Treaty Between Poland and Great Britain:

The President Did Not Receive the Agreed Agreement Text.

"President Karol Nawrocki did not receive the content of the agreed agreement" - Rafał Leśkiewicz said on RMF FM.

"Of course, we asked for such a document, we received very general information about what is the subject of negotiations between the Polish government and Great Britain, but we wanted to receive the content of the established agreement, whereas we only got a timetable" - he continued.

"It is true [the final text of the treaty was sent last Tuesday after the government meeting], the President also said so, but it was less than a day before the document was signed, so we did not receive the content of the document" - he went on to say.

18:38

Has Nawrocki Already Decided Not to Sign the Treaty? Leśkiewicz: Of Course, That's Not True

- Let's not succumb to this artificial narrative being created today, that the President will certainly not sign it because he said at a press conference in Switzerland that he doesn't know the document - said Rafał Leśkiewicz on RMF FM.

- It is untrue that the President has any reservations about the general actions related to the security of the Republic of Poland on the international stage - he continued.

- Of course, that's not true - he went on to say, when asked if it was untrue that the president had already decided not to sign the treaty.

18:43

Leśkiewicz on the Treaty:

The President is Part of the Process.

- The President is part of the process because it is a process concerning the security of the Republic and international relations - said Rafał Leśkiewicz in RMF FM, when asked about Prime Minister Donald Tusk's words regarding the treaty: "the president is not part of the process, the president is the culmination of this process and this constant clamoring: I want more, I want more, is unserious".

18:46

Leśkiewicz on Nawrocki and the Veto of the SAFE Act:

He Has No Regrets Whatsoever.

- He has no regrets whatsoever - said Rafał Leśkiewicz in RMF FM, when asked if the president regrets vetoing the bill concerning SAFE.

18:48

Leśkiewicz on the Government Bill:

We Are Dealing with Solutions That Limit Family Rights in Favor of Partnership Unions.

"The point is that in the legal solution currently proposed, we are dealing with a series of solutions that actually limit the rights of families, meaning the marital union of a woman and a man, in favor of partnership unions, including, among others, same-sex unions," said Rafał Leśkiewicz on RMF FM.

18:54

Leśkiewicz on the President's Next Referendum Motion:

A Matter of the Coming Days.

- This is a matter of the coming days - Rafał Leśkiewicz said on RMF FM when asked about the president submitting another motion for a referendum on climate policy.

- I won't reveal it yet, but yes, it is ready - he continued when asked if a new question had been developed.

18:55

Leśkiewicz:

Zelensky's Decision is Scandalous and Requires MFA Reaction

- This decision by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is incomprehensible, it is a scandalous decision and requires a reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - said Rafał Leśkiewicz on RMF FM.

- How can one of the elite units of the Ukrainian army be named after the heroes of the UPA, a criminal formation that collaborated with the Germans, which murdered Poles and Jews - he continued.

21:08

Kierwiński on false alarms:

More people will be detained, or have already been detained today, the case is rapidly developing.

- Persons who have been in contact and cooperated with each other are being detained today, and the case is still rapidly developing, with further detentions being planned all the time. I can even say that more detentions are underway. Not right now, in the sense of not at 8 PM, but yes, there are continuously more people who will be detained or have been detained today, because this case is still very much developing - stated Marcin Kierwiński on TVP Info.

21:33

Kierwiński on Nawrocki's Words:

He's Probably Trying to Forcefully Engage Public Opinion.

- Regarding [the Polish-British treaty], it seems to me that the President [Karol Nawrocki], by saying he doesn't know and will consider it, is probably trying to forcefully engage public opinion with the Chancellery of the President, because I cannot imagine. Of all things, I cannot imagine the President not signing this agreement - stated Marcin Kierwiński on TVP Info.
