Gawkowski on the Left's Candidate for Warsaw Mayor: Biejat Has the Best Chances
- There are various voices being heard, most often the name Magdalena Biejat appears. I think that if there is agreement among the groups forming the electoral committee, which we announced on Saturday, then Magda Biejat has the greatest chances [of becoming the Left's candidate for Warsaw mayor] today - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24.

08:04

Paprocka on Duda's statement on Crimea: We must look at the President's entire activity, saying that Ukraine should determine the conditions for peace
- For those who listened to the entire interview and know the context of the President's statement [on Crimea in an interview with Kanał Zero], the matter is obvious. We must also look at the President's entire activity in recent years, his extremely consistent stance on the international stage, clearly indicating that Russia is the aggressor, but also always stating that it is Ukraine that should determine the conditions for peace and the end of the war, that it cannot happen over the heads of the Ukrainian authorities, and the President has always clearly said that any concessions to Russia encourage further aggression - said Małgorzata Paprocka in a conversation with Sylwia Białek on "24 pytania" on PR24. - Objectively speaking, the issue of Crimea is, of course, a very difficult matter, after all, this annexation has not lasted two years, but 10 years, and in this context, the question of Crimea's fate is undoubtedly an open question - she continued.

08:04

Gawkowski:

We're Aiming to Double Our Results in Regional Assemblies - to 10%
- We are aiming to double this result [in the regional assemblies], that's my impression today. We started as the electoral committee SLD back in 2018, we had 6% support. If we aim for ten percent today, we are able to double, and even nearly triple, this result in the regional assemblies - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:11

Paprocka:

The Constitution Maker Did Not Create a 9-Year Term for the Constitutional Tribunal for Every Power to Seize It After Elections
- We have been hearing such announcements of actions towards the Constitutional Tribunal for several weeks, but I think that the President's Chancellery is very close to the legal view expressed here, for example, by Professor Ryszard Piotrowski, who clearly indicates that changes at this stage in the Tribunal by Sejm resolutions are simply directly unconstitutional - said Małgorzata Paprocka on PR24. - The Constitution Maker did not create a 9-year term for the Constitutional Tribunal for every power to seize the Tribunal after elections - she continued.

08:14

Gawkowski:

I Imagine 7-8 People from the Governing Parties Could Run for President of Poland
- I imagine 7-8 people in Poland who could run for president today. I imagine 2-3 people from PO, I imagine one person from PSL, one from Hołownia's camp, and 2-3 from our party - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24. - No. I believe Donald Tusk is determined to be Prime Minister - he assessed.

08:17

Tomczyk:

Poland is Safe

- I would like to reassure everyone that, of course, on the one hand, these are standard communications when there is an increased number of military aircraft flights. On the other hand, we must be aware that a lot is happening in the eastern part of the country in connection with securing the eastern border. Most of this information is not public, but today we can say that Poland is safe and please do not worry about this announcement - stated Cezary Tomczyk in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:19

Paprocka:

The Fundamental Question for Marshal Hołownia: Why Doesn't He Respect Court Rulings?
- According to the Constitution, there are 460 MPs in the Sejm. They were elected by citizens, they have a mandate stemming from general elections, and the President's duty, as the guardian of the Constitution, is to remain consistent and refer the matter to the court, the only body, i.e., the Constitutional Tribunal, concerning the procedure for passing laws, and if there are doubts about the merits, then of course also - said Małgorzata Paprocka on PR24. - How further fates will unfold, how subsequent bills will be processed, is a question for Mr. Marshal Hołownia today, and a fundamental question: why doesn't he respect court rulings in this matter, and this is a very serious question - she continued.

08:24

Tomczyk:

We Must Be Ready for Any Scenario
I am calming down regarding the statement you quoted to me, but I have no intention of calming anyone down when it comes to Eastern issues, nor do I intend to scare anyone. These are scenarios that are unfolding now. We are doing everything to ensure the Polish army is ready for any scenario, but also that the country is ready. Of course, what will happen is ahead of us, and we are not in the business of fortune-telling. We are focused on preparing the country for any scenario, but we must indeed be ready for any scenario - stated Cezary Tomczyk on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:25

Gawkowski:

I'm a proponent of a drastic cut in the Constitutional Tribunal. No room for constitutional changes with PiS
- I think that sooner or later, a discussion must take place in the Sejm about the fact that the Constitutional Tribunal is currently not operating in accordance with the law. As you ask me, I am a proponent of a drastic cut in the CT. I am convinced that we had a choice of CT judges at the beginning of the PiS term that was contrary to the law, and that we should make decisions on this matter - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24. - There is no room for constitutional changes today. I will not mix changes to the Constitution with reaching an agreement with PiS. [...] Today, any cooperation with PiS on constitutional changes will backfire in the future, with PiS claiming that some kind of deal with them has been struck again - he emphasized.

08:29

Paprocka on the so-called Over-the-Counter Morning-After Pill: The Age Limit is Primarily a Cause for Concern
- The Chancellery of the President is very attentively listening to the public debate [on changes to access to the so-called morning-after pill]. I don't think it's surprising that the concern, and primarily the doubts, arise regarding the issue of age [...]. We have a legal system and we have the age of 18 for matters such as, for example, the purchase of so-called energy drinks or, not to make light of the situation, using a solarium [...]. Here we are talking about medicines, there is also an issue related to parental responsibility for the health of children. We are looking into this very attentively. Once the final version of this draft is ready, the President will make decisions - Małgorzata Paprocka said on PR24. - Here we have the issue of age, and also the fact that whether there is a prescription or not does not stem from a statute, but from a regulation - she continued.

08:30

Tomczyk Announces Presentation of Preliminary MON Audit Results

- Within the next few days, if I remember correctly, on February 8th, there will be a meeting of the National Defence Committee, where the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence (MON) will present the preliminary audit results. We are still conducting this audit, for at least some more time, but regarding the preliminary report, we will be ready for that committee meeting - stated Cezary Tomczyk on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:43

Gawkowski on Laptops for Students: The Will is There, But the Money Isn't. If the Program Were to Continue, It Would Need Remodeling
- A mess and a huge misunderstanding when it comes to settling the accounts for this program from 2023. That's the mildest way to put what happened. There was no money, it was spent on credit, and it's unknown what happened to it and how it was used. [...] We don't know what [laptops] were bought and it's unknown how they were redistributed in the end - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in the "Piasecki's Interview" on TVN24. - There is [no money for this purpose today]. [...] There's no money from the European Union because the 2023 expenditures have been questioned, [...] nor has it been secured in the budget. So this story that everything is secured is also a lie, and a multi-vector one at that - he continued. - I have the will [to continue this program], but if there's no money and there are problems with how to settle it, then today I can say – more question marks than space to do it. I would like to do it, but I am not convinced today that we are able to model this program in such a way that a fourth-grader, their parent, and also the teacher would be satisfied - he stated. - In my long-term thinking, it would be about different devices, for example, tablets. [...] If this program were to continue, it would need to be remodeled. Certainly not in the same form as PiS, because PiS simply buried it - he assessed.

08:59

Kidawa-Błońska:

The Decision Has Been Made, Our Presidential Candidate is Trzaskowski

- I really like Mr. Marek Sawicki, but the Civic Coalition decides on its own who our candidate will be. I am happy that Donald Tusk is an authority for him, but we will make the decision. The decision has been made, our candidate is Rafał Trzaskowski. We are at a very interesting historical moment, we know what we need to do. I am very pleased that everyone is saying Donald Tusk can perform any, most responsible function, but it is KO and PO that will decide, and such discussions are not happening - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

09:00

Kidawa-Błońska on Whether Tusk Should Be President of Poland: 'No, Not Now'

- 'No, not now' - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in the program 'Guest of Radio Zet'.

09:05

Kidawa-Błońska:

I Have Great Trust in Bodnar, as He Will Restore the Rule of Law in Our Country Step by Step
There is an announcement, the draft has not yet reached the Sejm, but we cannot wait and tolerate the fact that our system is still not working. The main task of President Andrzej Duda is to guard and protect the Polish constitution. Andrzej Duda also pardoned someone who had not yet been convicted; we must take this very seriously. I have great trust in Minister Bodnar, as he will restore the rule of law in our country step by step – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska on the program „Gość Radia Zet”.

09:11

Kidawa-Błońska:

Poles Realize Tusk is the Best Prime Minister for These Very Difficult Times

- I am convinced that Poles realize Donald Tusk is the best Prime Minister for these very difficult times. Throughout our conversation, I keep repeating that the situation is exceptional. It requires great experience, courage, and the ability to seek consensus, and Donald Tusk possesses all these qualities. Poles see him in the role of prime minister and feel safe – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska on the program ‘Gość Radia Zet’.

09:52

Żukowska:

Parliamentary Resolutions Will State There Are Three 'Dubler' Judges in the Constitutional Tribunal
- Parliamentary resolutions will, of course, confirm the factual situation within the Tribunal, meaning that there are three 'dubler' judges there, who should not have been sworn in by the President. This is because three correctly elected judges were waiting in line earlier, and I believe this will be included in the resolution. Although, there is no draft yet, and the draft of this resolution is not yet on the agenda for the Sejm's upcoming session – stated Anna Maria Żukowska in the program "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

09:53

Żukowska:

I hope the President won't have a default setting of opposing whatever lands on his desk
- I still hope today that, despite everything, the President approaches all legal acts that land on his desk for signature from a statutory, substantive, legislative perspective, and that's how he looks at them, and that he won't have a default assumption that whatever lands on his desk, he will be against it – said Anna Maria Żukowska on PR1.

09:55

Żukowska on Not Running with Civic Coalition in Local Elections: A Disappointment for an Electoral Result That Could Have Been Unambiguously Higher Than PiS
- I think Chairman Tusk made some assessment of the situation, as he did not agree to such an agreement [joint run in local elections]. No. He did not justify this decision – said Anna Maria Żukowska on PR1. - In a sense, yes [the lack of a joint run with Civic Coalition in local elections is disappointing], but not for the Left, but for the electoral result, which could have been a result that would have been unambiguously higher than PiS's result in these local elections – she continued.

09:56

Żukowska:

If Hołownia Thinks He Made a Mistake by Not Voting to Remove Bosak, He Can Correct It and Submit His Own Motion
- Unfortunately, I expected [the reinstatement of Grzegorz Braun as a member of Konfederacja]. It's strange that Marshal Hołownia didn't expect it, because it was quite easy to predict, and I saw in a recent recording of the Marshal's statement that he was surprised and bitter about it, and that it was a bad turn of events. Well, well, if it was a bad turn of events and if Marshal Hołownia believes he made a mistake by not voting to remove Marshal Bosak from his position based on our motion, the motion from Lewica, then he can correct this mistake and submit his own motion, because MP Braun will not change. He's simply like that – stated Anna Maria Żukowska on PR1.

11:16

Hołownia:

The Baltic States Will Always Be Our Strategic Partners in Building European and Global Security
- This is my first foreign visit after these three months, almost three months in the position of Marshal of the Sejm, and I am glad that it is taking place in Lithuania, at the invitation of my wonderful colleague Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen. Because it shows how important the bonds between siblings are. Siblings have difficult moments between them, but they also have many beautiful ones, and our task today, in this unprecedentedly difficult situation we find ourselves in together, is to accelerate processes, to seek solutions in the areas of all that divides us, so that we can do as much as possible in the areas that unite us – stated Szymon Hołownia during his visit to Lithuania. - I want to assure you that Lithuania, that the Baltic states will always be our strategic partners in building European and global security, we need each other – he added.

11:19

Hołownia:

Lithuanian Authorities Show Intent to Address Polish Minority's Demands
- We are a new generation of politicians on the European stage, a new generation of politicians in our respective countries. We respect the older generations of politicians and their legacy, but we also know that our responsibility is to ensure the safety of our children and grandchildren as quickly as possible. This is absolutely crucial, which is why I am so pleased that we have also found common ground for discussion on matters that are important to us Poles too, concerning the Polish minority in Lithuania. Madam Speaker Čmilytė-Nielsen assured me that there is an intention from the current Lithuanian authorities to take further steps on this path towards resolving the demands put forward by the Polish minority. We are talking here about issues related to education and the spelling of surnames; this process will be continued – said Szymon Hołownia during his visit to Lithuania.

11:27

Duda on Friday Interview: 'I Was Partly Ranging My Thoughts to Various Discussions I Hear on the International Stage'

- Regarding my Friday interview, please also take into account the convention of that interview. It wasn't a tense conversation with a politician; it was an interview that we treated, partly, of course partly, as a calm, relaxed discussion on various topics, not necessarily very serious ones. However, the topic the editors touched upon was indeed very serious, and I was partly ranging my thoughts to various discussions I hear on the international stage. Meanwhile, concerning our stance on Russian aggression against Ukraine and how this war must end, it is the restoration of the primacy of international law. This means Ukraine's return to its internationally recognized borders, to full control over territories that are internationally recognized territories of Ukraine, including Crimea, I want to emphasize this with all my might – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press briefing in Kenya.

- Russia must leave the occupied territories of Ukraine, Ukraine must regain control over all its internationally recognized territories, and that's how this war should end, so that international law is observed as the greatest guarantee of future peace, because I want to emphasize this with all my might. Russia cannot win this war, because if Russia wins, Russia will attack again – he continued.

11:39

Duda in Kenya: This is not just a courtesy visit, it carries an economic load for the future of both our countries
This is not just a courtesy visit. It carries, as I believe, an economic load for the future of both our countries. Today, the President and I discussed our economic relations, future directions of development for these relations, and the prospects that exist in this regard between our countries, both in a one-on-one meeting and in a delegation format - stated President Andrzej Duda during a press conference in Kenya. - I want to strongly emphasize that as early as October 2023, the Polish-Kenyan Economic Forum took place here in Nairobi, bringing together a great many entrepreneurs interested in cooperation, co-organized by our Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Today, the President and I will participate in another edition of a business meeting, a business forum, where our entrepreneurs, under presidential patronage, will discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation and the development of relations - he added.

12:30

Dworczyk:

I Submitted Administrative Decisions to the Prime Minister for Signing Regarding Conducting Elections by Poczta Polska and Printing Ballots by PWPW
- Yes, I submitted two administrative decisions to the Prime Minister for signing, the ones you are referring to - Michał Dworczyk stated before the Investigative Committee into postal elections, responding to a question about whether he had recommended the Prime Minister sign decisions ordering Poczta Polska to conduct elections and PWPW to print ballots.

12:44

Dworczyk:

Prime Minister Received No Negative Legal Opinions Because They Didn't Pertain to Decisions He Signed, But to a Draft from the Ministry of State Assets
- These opinions [...] which were in fact positions [...] concerned a draft administrative decision. The problem, from your perspective I believe, is that these positions did not concern the decision signed by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, but a draft submitted by the Ministry of State Assets. So, perhaps let's clarify this - said Michał Dworczyk before the Special Parliamentary Committee investigating the envelope elections, when asked if he had shown the Prime Minister two negative legal opinions before the Prime Minister signed the decision to conduct the elections by correspondence. - The Prime Minister did not sign the decisions that the positions discussed by you just now concerned. [...] He did not receive [the legal opinions] because they did not pertain to the decisions he signed. I see there is a problem with understanding here, and this is a rather simple matter - he continued.

13:05

Dworczyk:

It seems to me that only Poczta Polska had the apparatus with which these elections could be conducted
– You are asking me about things that were outside the scope of my responsibilities, so I can only offer what I think about this matter, not facts. It seems to me that it was because only Poczta Polska had such an apparatus, with which these elections could be conducted – said Michał Dworczyk before the Extraordinary Committee on Envelope Elections, when asked why the Prime Minister entrusted Poczta Polska with conducting the elections, and not the National Electoral Commission.

13:14

Dworczyk:

The Prime Minister's Signed Decision Did Not Order the Election to Be Held, but Rather to Undertake Actions Aimed at Its Preparation
- This decision spoke exclusively about undertaking actions that were meant to prepare the elections, not to conduct them. That was precisely one of the differences, as far as I recall, between the decision signed by the Prime Minister and the decision that was sent as a proposal from the Ministry of State Assets. That is to say, the Prime Minister did not speak of or order the holding of elections, because as you rightly pointed out, he did not have a legal basis to do so. However, he absolutely had a basis to undertake actions aimed at preparing such matters, and that is why he adopted such a decision – said Michał Dworczyk before the Extraordinary Committee on Envelope Elections.

13:16

Dworczyk:

The decision didn't specify how much or who should spend money; the prime minister didn't commit anyone to spending 60 million
- The decision did not indicate how much or who should spend money. [...] The decision obliged the competent ministers supervising these two entities - namely Poczta Polska and PWPW [...] - to conclude agreements, within which it would be specified who should carry out which tasks and what settlements should be associated with this. Consequently, the prime minister did not commit anyone to spending 60 million, one million, or 100 million. This has nothing to do with the content of that decision - said Michał Dworczyk before the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into the Envelope Elections.

13:51

Dworczyk:

Postal Elections Did Not Take Place Due to Obstruction in the Senate
- [The postal elections] did not take place due to the obstruction that occurred in the Senate. [...] The act was immediately handed over to the Senate after being passed by the Sejm, but apparently, a political decision was made in the Senate, where Civic Coalition then had a majority, to utilize the maximum number of days, i.e., 30 days, for the processing of this act - said Michał Dworczyk before the Investigative Committee regarding envelope elections.

14:24

Pomaska:

NIK Report is a Ready-Made Indictment Against Sasin
All the information we've had unofficially so far has been confirmed, and all the fragments of the NIK report that we've been able to follow in the media have been confirmed. This matter is highly disturbing, but I must say that this report, nearly 90 pages long, is a ready-made indictment against Minister Sasin. Of course, it is not up to the controllers to formulate an indictment, but this is likely ready material for the prosecutor's office – stated Agnieszka Pomaska at a press conference in Gdańsk. - We are dealing with a flagrantly low sale price of assets by Orlen. This flagrant undervaluation particularly concerns the Gdańsk Refinery, and according to NIK's assessment, the sale of refinery assets was at a price at least 3.5 billion lower. Secondly, the controllers found that Saudi Aramco may have veto power when Orlen's or the State Treasury's decision might be different; Saudi Aramco has the right to this veto. Thirdly, the State Treasury has lost and does not have influence over any potential resale by Saudi Aramco, and this leads to the conclusion that there may be a risk of a fuel deficit in Poland – the KO MP continued. - And the final point, summarizing this report. The lack of supervision by the Minister of State Assets, Mr. Sasin, who neglected to protect security in the oil sector. This is a concrete thing that NIK controllers accuse Minister Sasin of. It's the failure to include Lotos in the list of protected entities – she added. - We can openly speak about Minister Sasin's responsibility, and we can openly say that the decision, first about the merger of Lotos with Orlen, and then about the sale of Lotos's assets, was treated by the supervising Minister Sasin in a very dismissive and unserious manner – Pomaska emphasized.

14:26

Pomaska:

Further Notifications to the Prosecutor's Office – After Full Familiarization with the NIK Report

- After fully familiarizing ourselves with this [NIK] report, as there was little time, but there is no doubt that there is also material here for preparing further notifications to the prosecutor's office. I will of course submit such notifications to the prosecutor's office after this in-depth analysis, so that no one will even think of not taking this matter seriously – stated Agnieszka Pomaska at a press conference in Gdańsk.

16:38

Tusk:

President Ready to Use All Means to Defend the Constitution. Awaiting Czarnek's Statement on Human Rights
The President is ready to use all means to defend the constitution, Chairman Kaczyński wants to fight for an independent prosecutor's office, Prime Minister Morawiecki has continuously cared about the proper use of Pegasus. I am awaiting Mr. Czarnek's statement on the issue of human rights – wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter.

17:53

Trzaskowski:

Local elections are another step towards restoring the rule of law and strengthening democracy
- In just two months, local elections will be held. On that day, we will choose the leaders of cities, towns, and villages across Poland. Candidates are already emerging, and the campaign is in full swing. These elections are another step towards restoring the rule of law and strengthening our democracy. The Law and Justice party (PiS) attempted to destroy not only the media and the judiciary, but also local government - wrote Rafał Trzaskowski on social media. - The outcome of the upcoming elections will therefore be a signal that the changes implemented by the current government coalition have broad social support. A victory for democratic parties and independent candidates in all regions, cities, towns, and villages across Poland will also accelerate the disintegration of PiS - a party entirely dependent on positions, influence, and public money - he continued. - I see only one threat on the horizon - voter demobilization. Some of you may think that these elections no longer hold the same significance as those on October 15th. I will try to convince you that it is the exact opposite. Local elections are as important as parliamentary elections, and in many respects, even more important. Because it is in these elections that we will decide what our daily lives will look like - he added. - These elections are also about freedom. Freedom in schools and culture. About the freedom to live life in our own way. With whom we want and how we want. The freedom to participate in the Three Kings Procession or the Equality Parade. These elections are also about our safety. About safe streets where pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers are not afraid to move. About safety in playgrounds and during evening jogs in the park or forest. About a city where guards and police officers ensure the safety and comfort of all residents, not just one group - he emphasized.

18:31

Przydacz:

I Am Not Aware of Any Plans to Block the Podium
- We try to be a substantive opposition, we don't cause chaos, we don't block the podium. I am not aware of any plans for us to block the podium - said Marcin Przydacz in the "Afternoon Conversation" on RMF FM.

18:33

Przydacz:

I Believe the Constitutional Tribunal is Independent of PiS
- Yes, I believe the Constitutional Tribunal is independent of PiS, but it's clear that the judges there were elected by a majority vote, in which Law and Justice was dominant at the time - said Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM.

18:40

Przydacz on Pawłowicz's Posts: If She Had Asked My Opinion, I Would Have Advised Against This Type of Argumentation
- Frankly speaking, if Mrs. Pawłowicz had asked my opinion, I would have advised against this type of verbal argumentation. However, this in no way undermines her status as a judge – said Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM, responding to a question whether PiS is not troubled by Krystyna Pawłowicz's social media posts, including those calling a politician a "leftist MP," a "boor, scoundrel, Kalwaria beggar," and a "Russian column."

18:46

Przydacz on Abortion Law: Constitutional Changes Would Be Necessary for Any Potential Amendments
- We will see in what form this project emerges. However, I stand on a center-right or conservative position; I am a defender of unborn life here, although I believe there are and should be moments when two goods, in the form of life, are at stake and a choice simply needs to be made. No one can be forced into heroism, and no one can be made into a hero sacrificing their life - said Marcin Przydacz on RMF FM. - This does not happen at the legislative level, but at the constitutional level. Constitutional changes would have to be made for any potential amendments, and for now, there is no possibility whatsoever at the level of the Polish Sejm to find such a constitutional majority - he continued.

20:10

Szłapka on the KPO: Everything indicates we will manage to save this money, but it's a monstrous amount of work because it was a mess
- We are doing everything we can to ensure that we do not lose all of this money [from the KPO]. That is why it was so important to submit the first application last year, because this year we will submit two more applications, and in 2025 another two. Everything indicates that we will manage to save this money, however, it is indeed a monstrous amount of work because it was very messed up - said Adam Szłapka in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - In total, this amounts to 59 billion euros, both in grants and loans, so it's a huge amount of money, primarily for our energy security - he continued.

20:16

Trzaskowski:

Bocheński Was Simply a Party Loyalist

- I treat everyone very seriously, every rival candidate, so certainly Tobiasz Bocheński as well. Of course, when he was a voivode, I regretted that he wasn't a state official, that he didn't behave that way. A voivode is a state official, not a politician. But he was simply a party loyalist, though it's evident he was preparing for this role - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.

20:16

Szłapka:

A Sejm Resolution is Needed Regarding Three Illegally Appointed Constitutional Tribunal Judges
- From my perspective, the matter is clear - a Sejm resolution concerning three illegally appointed [Constitutional Tribunal] judges is needed. And that is, of course, the first step - Adam Szłapka stated on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" program.

20:18

Trzaskowski:

I hope this campaign, as far as I and the Left are concerned, will be a friendly competition

- I have always been a proponent of agreement because it seems to me that it would be good for all those who represent the democratic, governing side to go into these local elections together. The matter turned out differently, because the Third Way made a different decision, but at the moment when we were negotiating common lists with the Left, Razem had already decided that they wanted to go alone in Warsaw. Now it will probably turn out that it will be the entire Left in Warsaw. Let's wait for the Left's decision. I hope that this campaign, as far as I and the Left are concerned, will be a friendly competition, because we certainly don't need quarrels - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

20:20

Szłapka on the Constitutional Tribunal: It's Not a Milestone Element. It's Important to Be Well-Prepared for Changes; Haste Isn't Paramount
- Matters concerning the Constitutional Tribunal do not directly impact issues related to the KPO (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), as it is not one of the milestone elements. Therefore, it's important to do this very well and be well-prepared for it. Haste is not the most important criterion in this case. Haste was very important when we submitted the application for the KPO - said Adam Szłapka in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

20:25

Trzaskowski:

I hope President Duda will act as he promised, striving to engage in dialogue with the government

Today, President Duda says that these two gentlemen [Wąsik and Kamiński] are MPs, while all lawyers say they are not. If he refers every matter to the Constitutional Tribunal in this regard, it will lead to the paralysis of the state. So, I hope the president will reconsider this matter, that he will act as he promised, where he truly disagrees with the government, he has the right to veto, but that he will try to engage in dialogue with the government on certain issues – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.

Trzaskowski:

President Duda faces a simple choice: either he remains perpetually on PiS's leash, or he fights for a modicum of independence.

- President Duda faces a very simple choice: either he will remain perpetually on PiS's leash and listen to what Jarosław Kaczyński says until the end of his term, which he no longer needs to do, or he will fight for a modicum of independence - stated Rafał Trzaskowski on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.

Sasin on Pomaska's Actions Regarding the Orlen-Lotos Merger: For Some Time Now, She Has Been Saying Many Foolish Things, She Doesn't Know What She's Talking About
No, I am not afraid [of prison], unless we assume that there is no longer an independent judiciary in Poland, then anyone can be put in prison based on imaginary charges. Ms. Pomaska has been speaking on this matter for some time. Many foolish statements, indicating that, let me put it this way, she doesn't really know what she's talking about, perhaps I should say it delicately (...) First and foremost, I think she lacks knowledge on how such a process proceeds, how the merger of two large companies works – stated Jacek Sasin in the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

Sasin:

KPMG Unambiguously Assessed the Merger as Beneficial for Poland in Terms of Energy Security and Financially

As the Minister of State Assets, I did everything within my competencies to properly oversee this process. To avoid being merely talkative, firstly, a special team was established and operated within the Ministry of State Assets, which continuously monitored the entire merger process. This team comprised representatives from the Ministry of State Assets, the Ministry of Climate, responsible for Poland's energy security, and the minister appointed to manage critical infrastructure. Secret services also had their representatives and participated in overseeing this process – Jacek Sasin stated on Polsat News.

Secondly, the Ministry of State Assets commissioned a thorough analysis of this process from the renowned international firm KPMG, which examined the documents gathered by Orlen on this matter (…). It unambiguously assessed that the merger is an economic action that is beneficial for Poland, beneficial for the State Treasury, beneficial for Poland in terms of energy security, but also beneficial from a financial perspective – he continued.
