At 8:30 AM in Warsaw, a press conference will be held by the Deputy Chairman of PiS and candidate for Prime Minister, Przemysław Czarnek.

At 3:30 PM, the Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, will meet with the Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, Daiga Mierina.

 

- No, I stand by that statement [regarding the SAFE program]. It has its good points, but it has fundamental flaws that prevent supporting this project. Because let me remind you that the conversation and discussion about SAFE, which lasted not just a few days that everyone remembers, because they were so intense, but lasted for several months, and as time went by, we learned the details. When it became clear exactly what SAFE looked like, it was necessary to unequivocally critically assess this program - stated Michał Dworczyk in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

- Unfortunately, this discussion in Poland has at some point simply devolved into a typical Polish-Polish war, where substantive arguments, which I, among others, wanted to draw attention to, showing that these funds cannot become a real impetus for the Polish armaments industry due to the short timeframe for their utilization, by 2030 - stated Michał Dworczyk in the "Piasecki Conversation" on TVN24.

- We are unable to develop new production lines, new start-ups, new armaments companies, and a number of other substantive issues that I pointed out have completely disappeared in the row kicked off by Donald Tusk, who put forward the thesis - either you are unconditionally for SAFE and then you are a true European, or you have any doubts and then you are a Russian boot. This is a typical polarizing undertaking. It's a pity that Donald Tusk has dragged such an important matter as security into it - he continued.

- Without a doubt, the German arms industry will benefit from this [SAFE] program, but let every industry benefit, but don't be surprised that I, as a Polish Member of the European Parliament, would like the Polish industry to benefit the most from this program, and the formula that has been created will not allow this idea of the arms industry to develop - stated Michał Dworczyk in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I don't have the feeling that PiS is becoming a nationalist party [following the words of Senator Jacek Włosowicz]. I joined a centre-right party twenty-something years ago, 24 years ago, and I have always belonged in PiS - stated Michał Dworczyk on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

- It is normal that in every large formation there are wings, there are different factions, and this was PiS's success for many years, and I believe it will continue to be so in the future, that there is room for various groups - stated Michał Dworczyk in the "Piasecki's Conversation" program on TVN24.

- I believe that bidding against Grzegorz Braun leads nowhere, but I don't have the feeling that anyone wants to bid against Grzegorz Braun. - Today, Professor Przemysław Czarnek will shortly submit another bill from Law and Justice concerning ensuring that food prices do not rise now - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia ZET".

- Lower VAT on food, indeed, that is how it should be done - he continued, when asked how this should be achieved, whether by lowering VAT on food.

- I absolutely support Przemek Czarnek, as well as his actions. It's evident he plays a stabilizing role within our electorate. The key challenge is to attract back to PiS those people who have left, who used to vote for us – several million voters who have drifted away - stated Michał Dworczyk in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- The fact is this: PiS's support has declined over the last 2 years. Przemek Czarnek has a significant task to bring these voters back to us, and we will all support him in this endeavor to win back PiS voters - he continued.

- It is in Poland's interest – stated Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET, when asked if Viktor Orbán's victory in Hungary is in Poland's interest.

- In Poland's interest. Because it is in Poland's interest to have good relations with Central European countries, for the Visegrád Group format to function. Today, it does not function because of Donald Tusk – he continued, when pressed if it wasn't in Russia's interest.

- We will be looking at this project, we support the president's project, which was created with the president of the National Bank of Poland, Professor Glapiński - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET, when asked if PiS would support SAFE 0% in the version amended by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

- If it is identical to the president's project, then of course, yes - he continued, when asked if it was possible that PiS would support the PSL leader's bill.

- Yes, indeed there is such an effect, and it is visible at meetings [...] people are coming to meetings in large numbers, and in the polls we commission, we also see an increase in support for Law and Justice, so once again President Jarosław Kaczyński knew what he was doing - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET, when asked if PiS is satisfied with Przemysław Czarnek and if one can speak of the Czarnek effect.

- It's a few percentage points increase in ratings - he continued, when asked if it was a half percentage point increase in ratings.

- You remember February 1, 2022, when we had a different crisis. The Polish state under PiS rule reacted as it should have – it lowered VAT on food from 5% to 0%. And this VAT reduction was long-term, until, if I recall correctly, the end of February 2024. They came to power and raised this VAT from 0% to 5% again - said Przemysław Czarnek at a press conference in Warsaw.

- Calculating that raising this VAT to 5% is approximately 0.1% of GDP, following this line of reasoning and the calculations of our political opponents, who are currently in power, we want to propose saving and leaving over 3 billion zlotys in the pockets of Polish families, all Poles, by the end of this year. We are proposing a bill, which we are submitting right now: on lowering the VAT on food from 5% to 0% until the end of 2026 - declared the PiS candidate for Prime Minister.

He continued: - In order to do this quickly and without delay, we are also submitting a request for an extraordinary session of the Sejm for tomorrow. [...] Just as the Senate convened overnight, under our pressure for several weeks [...] they decided to lower VAT and excise duty, so we propose that tomorrow the Sejm should immediately make a decision in urgent proceedings to lower VAT on food from 5% to 0%, so that these prices of food products fall by this VAT before the holidays.

- We are warning, and as I travel around Poland, I am also warning, especially against Braun. You need to know that casting a vote for Braun means power for Donald Tusk - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio ZET.

- High prices are a fact today. Tusk means high prices. Poles want normalcy. Poles also want state intervention in crisis situations. We propose this intervention. We managed to force the ruling party to lower VAT and excise duty on fuel after several weeks. We hope that our pressure will also yield results and the rulers will lower the VAT on [food] from 5% to 0% - said Przemysław Czarnek at a press conference in Warsaw.

- They should have been in effect from Saturday, what did this Tusk do on the weekend, he went off somewhere, yes, spending time with his grandchildren, or maybe peeling potatoes, right? - The prices should have been lowered from Saturday, not from Tuesday – he continued.

- For a long time in history, the words 'prepare for war if you desire peace' have not sounded so serious. The fact that today we are building a powerful army, that we have excellent generals, educated commanders, determined soldiers, and the largest funds in history, all this causes the spectre of war to recede, not approach Poland - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with soldiers.

- Poland will arm itself. Yes, Poland's military will be the strongest in Europe. Our army will be the most modern in Europe. It will be the best equipped in Europe. Not because commanders or politicians have such an ambition, but precisely so that peace can reign here, in this part of the world - he continued.

"Easter holidays, which we are spending today surrounded by Polish soldiers, is perhaps an appropriate moment to make this heartfelt and very serious appeal to all world leaders: let's do everything to prevent war from becoming our everyday reality. - Three areas, drones and anti-drones, space and artificial intelligence, and long-range, precision strike capabilities, are tasks for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, for the Ministry of National Defence in the coming months and weeks. Not a minute must be wasted, not a single day must be squandered in acquiring these capabilities - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a meeting with soldiers.

- We will utilize all possible available means, both European and domestic funds. We will not let go of a single zloty for the security of the Polish state, because the times are the most dangerous since the end of World War II - he continued.

- It would be imprudent, even treasonous, to be unable to utilize the funds that are currently available. We will not allow this to happen, because I know that the intentions of all those responsible are good, aimed at building a strong and secure Poland - he went on to say.

Minister of Energy, Miłosz Motyka, has published a notice regarding maximum fuel prices. These have been set at the following levels:

• Petrol 95 – PLN 6.16/l
• Petrol 98 – PLN 6.76/l
• Diesel – PLN 7.60/l

The prices will come into effect on the day following their announcement, meaning from Tuesday. They will be updated daily.

- I cannot refrain from commenting on the fact that another politician from our nationalist right, this time Chairman Kaczyński himself, is recommending, supporting, and promoting Viktor Orbán in Hungary. This is a politician who, with his veto, is blocking the disbursement of PLN 2 billion for the modernization of the Polish Army, who is blocking the 20th sanctions package against Russia, who wants to continue buying oil from Russia at all costs, and who is the most corrupt and most pro-Russian politician in Europe. I believe that Kaczyński's intervention is contrary to Poland's national interest - stated Radosław Sikorski at a press briefing.

- PiS’s solution was better because we didn’t talk about maximum prices. We talked about acting the way the PiS government acted when we successfully lowered fuel prices in 2022. At that time, fuel markets went wild after Putin's attack on Ukraine, and we effectively brought down fuel prices. The then-opposition, today’s government, accused PiS of prices at gas stations being too low. Such accusations were directed at us – said Mariusz Błaszczak in the program “Ewa Bugała. - So, without a maximum price, you would prefer that solution today? – asked the host.

- Without a maximum price. Furthermore, the reduction should have been included in the law. That is not the case now. The Council of Ministers and the Minister of Energy will regulate prices by ordinance. [...] The formula proposed by PiS is more difficult to change because it is a statutory formula, thus guaranteeing that this process would be permanent. - We are dealing with a government that gives the impression it is not in control of the situation and is looking for someone to blame for its incompetence. - After all, it was originally a law. The law was abandoned because the law was rightly vetoed by Mr. President Karol Nawrocki. And so they are trying to solve the legislative matter without a law. This raises enormous doubts about the empowerment of government representatives to take out such a loan – he assessed.

- The chances are slim. They indeed didn't take over the prosecution office by force just for such a team to be formed, but pressure makes sense. Pressure always makes sense. Since they appointed a team in the prosecution office regarding the American Epstein affair, they should appoint a team of prosecutors regarding the pedophilia-zoophilia scandal in Lower Silesia - said Mariusz Błaszczak in the program 'Ewa Bugała. - I compare this regime to a power that remains beyond control, that breaks the law, because Donald Tusk breaks the law. He himself speaks about it publicly, saying he is introducing a fighting democracy. It has as much in common with democracy as people's democracy had in common with democracy. Or as much in common with citizenship as the Citizens' Militia had in common with being civic - he stated.

- At midnight, the price of gasoline at petrol stations across the country should be capped - said Andrzej Domański on Polsat News.

- From tomorrow, firstly, we will have a lower VAT on fuel, secondly, a lower excise duty rate is in effect, and thirdly, maximum prices are applicable - he continued.

- Among all European Union countries, no one has to date taken such massive action to lower fuel prices at petrol stations - said Andrzej Domański in an interview with Marek Tejchman on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- This is, of course, extreme hypocrisy on Mr. Czarnek's part - said Andrzej Domański on Polsat News, when asked about Przemysław Czarnek's proposal to reduce VAT on food.

- Two things: the first is inflation in Poland; currently, it stands at around 3%. In March 2026, inflation – we will see the exact reading tomorrow, but analysts estimate it will be around 3%. In March 2023, two years ago, when Prime Minister Morawiecki was in power, and Mr. Czarnek was his minister, inflation in Poland [...] under their rule, inflation was 16% - he continued.

- Mr. Czarnek's hypocrisy, number 2, namely that on the one hand, Mr. Czarnek proposes further tax cuts, and on the other hand, he laments the state of the budget, saying that Poland's deficit is reaching record levels - he went on to say.

- Fuel prices, in contrast to food prices, have increased very significantly. Food prices in Poland are rising with low, very low dynamics, in contrast to the incompetent rule of PiS - he added.

- He laments [Przemysław Czarnek] about the state of the budget, saying that Poland's deficit is reaching record levels, and furthermore, he presents numbers in a way that seems to disregard the characteristics of budget execution. I think Mr. Czarnek will have to answer for this yet - said Andrzej Domański on Polsat News.

- The point is that Mr. Czarnek was kind enough to provide numbers for the middle of the month, while we collect VAT, the overwhelming majority of VAT is collected on the 25th of the month, so this was simply pure manipulation - he continued.

- The presidential bill [SAFE 0%] is about nothing because it has no funding. Besides being about nothing, it's unconstitutional, it's an attempt by Karol Nawrocki to get out of the deadlock Jarosław Kaczyński put him in - stated Marcin Szłapka on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts).

- It is inconsistent with regulations because it expands the President's competences in a way that is not described in any way in the Constitution - he continued.

- We should all hope this war ends as soon as possible, because it costs all of us, it costs the whole world, but it also costs Poland, and the only true beneficiary of this entire situation is Vladimir Putin - stated Adam Szłapka in "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.

"At this moment, I don't see such a necessity" - said Andrzej Domański on Polsat News, when asked if there would be a revision of the budget for 2026 if the current situation persists for longer.

- Perhaps [PiS] could have used, for example, the president's presence at the CPAC conference and meetings with Donald Trump. Oh, wait, [he] wasn't at that conference. Damn, so the trip was only to Texas. And what important meetings took place there? - stated Adam Szłapka on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- Regardless of the situation in healthcare, we must remember that President Nawrocki is engaging in highly destructive actions also in the area of healthcare funding - said Andrzej Domański on Polsat News.

- I would just like to remind you that we presented a bill thanks to which approximately PLN 1 billion more would go to the National Health Fund. Unfortunately, this bill was vetoed, and it concerned an increase in the so-called sugar tax - he continued.

- We also wanted to slightly increase excise duty on alcohol, from which we would also have additional funds, which I would gladly direct entirely to the NFZ, and we also received a veto from President Nawrocki in this regard - he went on to say.

- Neither in the Ministry of Finance nor in the Ministry of Development are we working on such a tax - said Andrzej Domański in Polsat News, when asked about the Left's proposal regarding a cadastral tax.

- A cadastral tax is calculated based on [...] the value of real estate. We do not know the value of all apartments in Poland, so it would be quite difficult to calculate - he continued.

- We are not working on a cadastral tax in Poland - he went on to say.

- I am not a proponent of this tax, but I am open to discussion - he added.

- Today's Prosecution Service is truly independent because no one influences any preparatory proceedings. I do not control any proceedings, I do not issue spectacular official orders, nor do I file charges or order temporary arrests. That is what prosecutors are for - stated Dariusz Korneluk on TVP Info.

- So, when Minister Sikorski attends CPAC, it's good, but when President Nawrocki attends CPAC – it's bad. This is the hypocrisy of various media outlets. I wouldn't want to dwell on them. I can only say that I am very grateful to the President, not only for delivering a wonderful, patriotic speech there, but also, from what I know – and I spoke with many congressmen and senators – I know he was able to convince many of them of our positions - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on TV Republika.

- Marshal Wielichowska still has strong support from Donald Tusk, and the Prime Minister remains silent, trying to shift responsibility from himself.
