Today, the District Court in Warsaw-Mokotów may make a decision regarding the request for the temporary detention of Zbigniew Ziobro. The hearing on this matter has been (for the second time) adjourned – this time until February 5th.

At 11:00 AM, a press conference is scheduled in front of the Ministry of Education headquarters with Przemysław Czarnek, Tomasz Zieliński, and Dariusz Piontkowski.

At 2:00 PM in Szczebrzeszyn, a press conference will be held by the head of the PiS parliamentary group, Mariusz Błaszczak, the vice-president of PiS, Przemysław Czarnek, MP Janusz Kowalski, and the Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship, Jarosław Stawiarski.

At 3:00 PM, a press conference by the President of the National Bank of Poland (NBP), Adam Glapiński, will begin. The conference will focus on the current economic situation in Poland.

Everything that today's Marshal, then a activist, a businessman, did is described in stock exchange information [...] all of that can be read, it was checked, so including it [in the National Security Council's agenda] is some kind of malice - he continued.

- This is an attempt to divert attention from Marshal Czarzasty's past. Marshal Czarzasty has never submitted any personal security questionnaire, he has never explained his past contacts, and you must admit that what has recently appeared in the media, these contacts with a Russian woman, require explanation. We are talking about the second person in the state - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- Let's not get drawn into the narrative being built by post-communists, caviar post-communists, people like Marshal Czarzasty. Anyone who takes up an important state position, Marshal Czarzasty, as a result of political arithmetic, Donald Tusk's decision, became Marshal of the Sejm – this is not a popular vote, it's a choice based on a political decision. He has taken up the position of the second person in the state, he has access to the country's greatest state secrets - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz in the "Piasecki Conversation" on TVN24.

- Therefore, Marshal Czarzasty's past, in the context of his previous actions as well, for instance in the Rywin affair and the social-business connections he has with a Russian woman linked to Sberbank and the Kremlin, requires explanation. There's no hidden agenda here - he continued.

- It was your station that made the greatest contributions to explaining the past of Karol Nawrocki, and this past of Karol Nawrocki has been thoroughly explained. We all know what he did in the past, what he was involved in. So, you should read the articles on the TVN24 portal - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Interview).

- Maybe I'll be a conservative, but I believe that if someone is the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), they are guided by the good of the Polish state - said Marek Siwiec on TOK FM, when asked about Sławomir Cenckiewicz's criticism of the SAFE program and whether PiS politicians and the president's entourage are motivated by the American ambassador, by American lobbyists.

- I think that the doubts of Professor Cenckiewicz, who is the head of the National Security Bureau, deserve to be clarified by the authorities, by the government - he continued.

- Do you know what's funniest about Marek Siwiec's letter yesterday, which he sent to Minister Cenckiewicz? That they are accusing President Karol Nawrocki of working physically at the Grand Hotel as a young man supporting his family, being a bodyguard. They are accusing him. Furthermore, there are many errors in this letter, because it contains information that Karol Nawrocki worked at the Grand Hotel in the late 1990s and early 2000s. So, was he 15 years old working at the Grand Hotel? - stated Rafał Leśkiewicz in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

- This is a nervous reaction from Marshal Czarzasty and Marek Siwiec, these caviar post-communists, who, sitting in the comfort of the Marshal of the Sejm's office, have invented some alternative narrative for a very serious problem that has emerged - he continued.

- Fine, but when we're talking about facts, that's a fact. Besides, the highest person in the country refers to similar episodes, so let's be symmetrical at this moment. He was vetted, successfully, positively, meaning he had access - he continued after the host pointed out that it was years ago.

- Later, he began his work, in my opinion, and I'll say this perhaps a bit maliciously, he wasn't the most diligent member of that committee, because he had other interests, I think he was more occupied with leading his party than with oversight... - he went on to say.

- Hence, he might not have cared [about access to all documents] and for that reason, he didn't care - he added.

- If [Włodzimierz Czarzasty] didn't want to be vetted, if he has something up his sleeve, then where does such an unambiguous and very quickly formulated statement from the services' spokesperson come from? They are also taking responsibility for this at the moment - Marek Siwiec said on TOK FM.

- If we are to look at it in terms of formations, then the Marshal, as a representative of the formation that lost by 100,000 votes to the incumbent president there, is precisely that many votes short of claiming the presidential seat - said Marek Siwiec on TOK FM, when asked about Sławomir Cenckiewicz's statement that Włodzimierz Czarzasty lacks 10.5 million votes to decide on the agenda of National Security Bureau (RBN) meetings.

- There is no institution in the state that was voted for by more people in free elections than parliament, than the Sejm, and at the head of this Sejm stands Marshal Czarzasty, so if we are to bid against each other, Mr. Minister, Professor, and invoke the law of large numbers, then we are better off - he continued.

- I made personnel decisions regarding this matter [the situation in the State Protection Service - SOP]. I have suspended the commander of the SOP. I couldn't dismiss him because that requires the president's consent. That consent was not given - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on "Poranek TOK FM".

- I have a very strong determination to change the processes that I consider to be improper within the SOP. Much needs to be improved there, hence the new person acting as commander, who knows that they must restore order in this service - he continued.

- Obviously, I am the person who supervises, the Ministry of Interior and Administration supervises the Government Protection Bureau (SOP), so I will not discuss the audit's details. However, this broad audit, concerning personnel, financial matters, and the protection of the most important state officials, has revealed many serious shortcomings, many serious issues that need to be corrected. Hence my personnel decisions, which are as they are - said Marcin Kierwiński on "Poranek TOK FM".

When I read yesterday the statement from the Government Protection Bureau, and I also spoke about it with the acting commandant, they also had no such information - said Marcin Kierwiński in "Poranek TOK FM".

- Of course, as soon as this information was made public, the SOP filed a notification with the prosecutor's office in this regard. And to be clear, regardless of how much distance I personally have from what the station represented by Mr. Nisztor does, there is no consent, and there will be no consent for any attempts to break the law, or to relativize this type of situation - he indicated.

"Since I decided to make difficult personnel decisions, i.e., suspend the Commander of the State Protection Service (SOP) and appoint someone to act as its head who will implement necessary changes, it means I believe these changes at the organizational level are essential," said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

"The results of the audit conducted at the Ministry of Interior and Administration [...] leave many areas that require improvement. [...] For the good of this service, neither the results of this audit can be public, nor should I present them in a shocking way," he continued.

"In my opinion, the SOP needs significant changes," he went on to say.

"I am deeply convinced that for all those who currently lead the service, these guidelines and the tasks set before them are clear. Will this require personnel changes? Yes, and these personnel changes are being implemented. Will there be further changes? In my opinion, yes, but these will be sovereign decisions of those currently managing the service," he added.

"Mr. Minister, February is passing, and the presidential bill is still not here. And I'd gladly assess its value" - writes Waldemar Żurek on platform X, quoting Zbigniew Bogucki from an interview for DGP:

- Any irregularity in any service subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration will be eliminated, it will be burned out with a red-hot iron. There will be no tolerance for any, this also applies to information from one of the television stations, which they are reporting, any attempt to break the law, any unworthy behavior by any public official subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration will be eliminated - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

- We all know that Marshal Czarzasty is a person under counterintelligence protection, after all, we all know that if there were any doubts, the services would have to react. The President, his advisors also know this perfectly well, but they want to whip up this political froth, they want to create an atmosphere of checking something, completely unnecessarily [...] it harms the Polish state - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

- There are many security issues that we should discuss with the President within the framework of the National Security Council, I think that cheap politicking and such being led by the nose, I'm not afraid to say it, by a certain political camp and media favoring that camp, doesn't speak well of the President's independence, which he so much wants to boast about, and which is more of a myth than a fact - he continued.

- I plan for the disciplinary proceedings, which I initiated, to be concluded, and further steps will depend on their results. [...] During this time, I plan to enforce the corrective action plan from the current SOP management - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

- Once I have the results of the disciplinary proceedings, it's not a surprise, of course, that I will definitely speak with the President to finally resolve this matter - he continued.

- Of course, I would like to have the opportunity to appoint the Head of the SOP now [...] but we must act within the legal framework that we have defined - he added.

- We guarantee everyone the right to a fair trial. We see today that these trials are being conducted very transparently. The media have access to everything, every suspected person has the right to defense. Politicians even usually have three lawyers in these proceedings - said Waldemar Żurek at a press conference in Olsztyn.

- I would certainly see such a possibility, that if there is no so-called fear of tampering and fear of flight, then anyone who is suspected, or has already become a suspect, because charges have been brought against them, could face proceedings while free, because we know the grounds for applying pre-trial detention - he stated.

- But I have the impression that former minister Zbigniew Ziobro is, unfortunately, putting himself in a bad situation, because he is not appearing before the Polish justice system. He is ignoring it despite the fact that his colleagues or other politicians, like Mr. Matecki, are facing proceedings while free, and such a possibility would exist, but the former minister is evading justice - he pointed out.

"I have already started working, I have had talks with Minister Kierwiński and Minister Siemoniak. We already have concrete individuals who will be part of this team – but I want to state upfront that the composition of this team will not be disclosed," said Waldemar Żurek at a press conference in Olsztyn.

"There are representatives of special services, prosecutors, as well as police representatives who are specialists in this field," he clarified.

- As you know, from what the media reports, there were also Poles around Epstein. It is said that in his staff, which managed this dramatic, abominable procedure, there were two Poles, a woman and a man. We know these names - said Waldemar Żurek at a press conference in Olsztyn.

- So far, no victims of this procedure have come forward, because we know well that many of these individuals very often cannot overcome this psychological barrier […]. But we know that the recruitment of women, possibly also minors, in Poland did occur, because we have such traces in the documents that are available - he continued.

- Certainly, this team will initially be an analytical team, but I would like a parallel investigative team to be appointed as well, with powers similar to those of police officers, service officers, and prosecutors - he stated.

As the Minister of Justice announced: - We will want to ask the United States for a part of the documentation that is classified, which has not been disclosed on the websites, because perhaps we will learn about the Polish connections there, names also appear, and perhaps it will be necessary to question these individuals who are mentioned. But we will also see what these documents give us, if the United States provides us with these documents.

- We want to see if the Polish threads here are significant enough for us to track down the perpetrators, reach the victims, and provide them with redress - he added.

In particular, according to the latest comparable data for December 2025, no country in the region that has adopted the euro had lower inflation than Poland - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

- I will say only one sentence and ask no more. Respect demands respect. That's all I have to say on this matter - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

"Dear Mr. Prime Minister – I assume that your carefully considered and meticulously crafted message was sent to me by mistake, as you certainly intended it for Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty, whose wicked, disdainful, and offensive comments regarding President Trump could potentially harm your government" – Tom Rose wrote on X.

The US Ambassador to Poland further noted in his post that he has the "highest respect and admiration" for Donald Tusk for strengthening relations between Poland and the USA.

"I know you agree that insulting and demeaning President Donald Trump – the greatest friend Poland has ever had in the White House – is the last thing any Polish leader should do," Rose stated in his post.

The US Ambassador also emphasized that he will always defend his president without hesitation.

This is the ambassador's reaction to the Polish prime minister's post: "Mr. Ambassador Rose, allies should respect each other, not lecture. At least that's how we understand partnership in Poland."

- Personally, I am somewhat surprised by the harsh reaction [from the US Ambassador to Poland] in this particular matter, because it seems to me that among government politicians, at the level of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the candidate for ambassador to the United States, much more serious words, which were simply insults, were said in the past addressing Donald Trump - said Michał Wawer in an interview with Beata Lubecka on "Gość Radia ZET".

- So, this very nervous reaction from the American ambassador regarding Marshal Czarzasty seems to indicate some unpredictability of this American diplomacy. We should not worry about it excessively. Poland should be aware of its own strength, its own significance. We should simply focus on Polish interests, not these kinds of squabbles - he assessed.

When asked if this means we should do nothing, he replied: - I would say so. What exactly should we do? If we hear from PiS politicians that Marshal Czarzasty should be recalled for this reason […], if someone suggests that because the American ambassador, or any other country's ambassador, dislikes our Marshal, we should change him – well, I apologize, but that's not a serious approach to governing a state.

- Who the Marshal of the Polish Sejm is, that is a decision for Poles, a decision originating from Polish citizens, and not a decision that any foreign ambassador should dictate to us - said Michał Wawer on "Gość Radia ZET".

- There are many reasons why we believe Marshal Czarzasty should be dismissed and should never have become Marshal. However, certainly not a reason for this is that some foreign ambassador dislikes who the Marshal of the Polish Sejm is - he indicated.

- Truly, these kinds of suggestions bring to mind times, thankfully long past, where decisions of various ambassadors from various powers stationed in Warsaw were more important than the decisions of Polish politicians or Polish citizens - he added.

- I believe the US Ambassador's reaction is absolutely excessive. It's hard for me to imagine that the United States Ambassador would not cooperate with the second-highest official in the country, the Marshal of the Sejm. So, I think there are a lot of emotions surrounding this issue today. I believe these emotions will pass - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts after Facts).

- These relations [between Poland and the USA] are so strong, so robust, that a few stronger words, as sometimes happens between friends, absolutely do not undermine these foundations. […] I am absolutely calm about these relations. They are based on many years of friendship, alliance, and also shared interests – said Tomasz Siemoniak in TVN24's “Fakty po Faktach” [Facts After Facts].

- Also, everyone understands that a government is a government and here the opinion of the government is expressed by the prime minister, ministers. And parliamentary politicians have a bit more freedom in expressing various opinions. […] I believe that this situation will quickly pass and is simply such an argument. Sometimes even friends will argue. This happens in life – he stated.

- Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty has his own assessments. He is the Marshal of the Sejm elected by the majority in the Sejm. A coalition stands behind him - said Tomasz Siemoniak in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

Asked whether Czarzasty consulted, for example, with Radosław Sikorski, he replied: - He doesn't have to consult, he expresses his views. It's also not the case that every politician in the coalition, even or especially the Marshal of the Sejm, has to agree every statement they make.

- When I saw the invitation to the National Security Council meeting, I rubbed my eyes in disbelief. I have been participating in the National Security Council in various roles since 2011, and it has never happened that someone would engage in such political personal business, proposing a point like 'let's judge the Marshal here and his alleged connections' - said Tomasz Siemoniak in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

- This is provocative. It's solely intended to stir up a quarrel. If the president has any doubts, he has the right to have doubts, like anyone else. He can turn to the services, he can turn to the prime minister, or the committee for special services, where the opposition has its representatives, can deal with the matter. This is about a political quarrel - he assessed.

- Someone invented it – Mr. Cenckiewicz signed it, so he probably invented it – that the National Security Council is supposed to be some kind of court for Marshal Czarzasty. And that a certain number of people, under very low classification conditions, or rather a lack of classification – if Mr. Cenckiewicz appears, no secret information can be conveyed – will now discuss Marshal Czarzasty. How can such things be done, about anyone? – said Tomasz Siemoniak in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts After Facts).

- The court has made a decision, granting the prosecution's request for the pre-trial detention of the suspect Zbigniew Z. It fully shared the reasoning of the motion, finding that the general grounds for applying preventive measures exist due to the high probability that the suspect committed the alleged offenses - informed prosecutor Piotr Woźniak.

- The prosecution's request was granted in its entirety. The next stage will be to initiate a search for the suspect via an arrest warrant and an European Arrest Warrant (ENA) - he added.
