At 10:00 AM in Warsaw, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will announce details regarding the dignified burial of Poles exhumed from mass graves of victims from 1943-2000.

At 12:00 PM, a government session will commence. The agenda includes a draft amendment to the act on the Central Communication Port (CPK) – which practically concerns expropriation issues – as well as a draft amendment to the act on the protection of rights of the purchaser of a residential unit or single-family house and the Developer Guarantee Fund.

– The bill was submitted yesterday to the Chancellery of the Sejm, so the Sejm can address it immediately. This is an important matter, because time is also of the essence here. On one hand, we are talking about several hundred thousand Ukrainian citizens who are staying in Poland, and the current law will remain in force until the end of September. On the other hand, there are also Polish entrepreneurs, those who employ Ukrainian citizens. There are truly many things that need regulation – said Zbigniew Bogucki on Radio Wnet.

– This government had almost 1.5 years to sort out these matters. Rafał Trzaskowski, during the campaign in February, if I remember correctly, said that the 800+ benefit needs to be handled differently by law, to be restricted. Prime Minister Tusk agreed with him. And what did they do? As usual, nothing – he stated.

– It was only President Karol Nawrocki, in a very short time, because we literally had just a few days to amend this bill. We will probably amend it further in the Sejm, because that is natural. [...] I will present it in the Sejm on behalf of Mr. President and lead the process – he added.

– Deputy Prime Minister Gawkowski – a person responsible for cyber activities, holding the rank of Deputy Prime Minister in the Polish government – is introducing manipulations and disinformation into the network, which he should be fighting against. He claims that President Karol Nawrocki's veto will de facto lead to a lack of Starlink internet connectivity, as well as the secure storage of Ukrainian data, Zbigniew Bogucki told Radio Wnet.

– I replied to the Deputy Prime Minister regarding this disinformation and manipulation, because both this law, which is valid until September 30th, and the President's proposal, change nothing in this regard, assured the head of President Nawrocki's chancellery.

– One simply needs to get to work, stop talking, stop posting on Twitter, stop pretending to do something, and actually start taking action. And do not – [...] I will put it very euphemistically – out of a lack of common sense, not to say out of stupidity, play into a narrative that suits Russia, he continued.

– One can compare these actions by President Nawrocki to liberum veto, meaning the constant disruption of Sejm sessions, the blocking of laws, the obstruction of resolutions, the hindrance of decision-making. Such factiousness, troublemaking, the 'Golden Liberty' of the nobility, which ultimately led to the downfall of the Polish state – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing.

– Denying support for fighting Ukraine is against Poland's security interest. Helping Ukraine as it fights is also building a secure Poland. I thought that our predecessors, at least on this issue, agreed with us, because they provided this aid when they were in power. They stopped governing and completely changed their minds – he continued.

– What Chairman Kaczyński said yesterday regarding defense spending is nonsense. They are much higher than during PiS's rule, when Chairman Kaczyński served as Deputy Prime Minister for Security. It seems someone simply misled the Chairman. Expenditures in 2025 are twice as high as in 2022, and 60% higher than in 2023. The highest execution of the annual budget for the Armed Forces Support Fund was over 70%, approximately 73-74% last year, whereas in the last year of PiS's rule, it was about 50% – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing.

– As for the relations between our states, well, it's no secret – and I won't sugarcoat it – that they are not as good as they were a few years ago, and certainly not through any fault of Poland's. And our Ukrainian partners must also understand certain things. They must understand that partnership should govern our relations – stated Radosław Fogiel on the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News, when asked about the state of Polish-Ukrainian relations.

– So firstly, the Ukrainians had a lot of time, and Poland really showed a great deal of patience when it comes to such very basic issues as commemorating, exhuming, and allowing the burial and remembrance of the victims of the Volhynian Massacre. They avoided this topic. And today, I understand that in the first months of the war it looked different, but today truly nothing would stand in the way. We often heard from the Ukrainian side that Poles are generally blowing the issue out of proportion, that it's a marginal matter, that those black and red flags are some kind of grassroots initiative, very rarely encountered, and that they have nothing to do with Banderism. Well then, in light of that, where do such grumblings from Kyiv come from? – Fogiel continued.

– The President has the right to his decisions, he has the right to fulfill the expectations of Poles. Indeed, I'll go further, he even has the right to implement those government declarations that the government itself is not implementing – stated Radosław Fogiel on the program „Graffiti” on Polsat News, when asked about Nawrocki's veto of the bill on aid for Ukrainians.

– First of all, nobody is shutting anything down for anyone [referring to the Starlink system]. Everything will function until the end of September, and in the bill that Mr. President submitted – because this is not a situation where Mr. President vetoes and gives nothing in return, and tells the government to 'deal with it yourselves.' Mr. President is submitting his own draft law, very similar in many elements to the government’s bill, with his own expectations – stated Radosław Fogiel on the 'Graffiti' program on Polsat News, when asked about Nawrocki's veto of the bill on aid for Ukrainians.

– So, let's get to work! That means a reduction of the 800 Plus benefit, a reduction of medical benefits, and supplementing the IPN Act and the Penal Code with what is contained in the slogan 'stop Banderism.' And in this draft law, all these issues – Starlink, and the legalization of stay, about which the ruling party is also raising the alarm – they are all resolved. So, there is no problem [...] There's even no need to call an extraordinary Sejm session [the Sejm meets on September 9th] – Fogiel continued.

In Russia, they are rejoicing over President Nawrocki's stance, which blocks support for Ukraine! Under the Chancellery's posts, hundreds of Russian trolls are applauding and attempting to dissuade Poland from helping Ukraine, which is fighting for its independence – wrote Krzysztof Gawkowski on social media.

They are praising Poland for changing its stance towards its neighbor, claiming Putin has gained a new ally in Europe! What a humiliation for the previous policy of President Andrzej Duda, who bravely and honorably stood on the right side – noted the deputy prime minister.

Gawkowski further wrote: – And in the presidential palace, they are probably already thinking about how to agree to rebuild and launch the Nord Stream gas pipelines! We didn't have to wait long for the new President's actions supporting Russian imperialism.

– But Poland will never join the axis of evil, no matter how hard Karol Nawrocki and his hatred-blinded entourage try – he stressed.

– President Nawrocki's decisions are harmful. They harm entrepreneurs, they harm Poles. President Nawrocki's decisions block deregulation laws that were prepared to simplify life for entrepreneurs and citizens – says Maciej Berek in a recording published by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

– The changes that were introduced regarding tax regulations were meant to somewhat rationalize penalties. But not for fiscal crimes, as it was stated. Not for tax evasion. For minor, formal errors, for mistakes – continues the minister overseeing the implementation of government policy.

– Today's regulations allow for the imposition of draconian penalties. These are penalties that threaten accountants, their clients, often small businesses, for minor infringements, for mistakes. Not for avoiding tax payments. These penalties were supposed to be reduced – he pointed out.

In his opinion: – Someone doesn't understand something if they believe that by blocking these laws, they are doing anything good. Not a draconian penalty, but a penalty that is adequate to what you have done.

– If you commit a serious act, you should bear serious legal consequences. But if you committed a minor infringement, then that penalty should be appropriately moderated, not disproportionately scaled. This change, a deregulation change, prepared jointly with entrepreneurs, was blocked by President Nawrocki's decision – concluded Berek.

– It's not a question of whether we can manage, but that we must manage. If necessary, we must also consider convening an additional sitting of the Sejm. If necessary, we will simply have to start governing by decrees. There are various scenarios, but as I said, I will not reveal the government's strategy, because this message could be maliciously used by the Presidential Palace against the Polish people – stated Jakub Stefaniak on TVN24.

– It's not a question of whether we can get it done, but that we must get it done. If necessary, we must also consider convening an additional sitting of the Sejm. If necessary, we'll simply have to start governing by executive orders. There are various scenarios, but as I said, I will not reveal the government's strategy, because this communication could be maliciously used. – stated Jakub Stefaniak on TVN24.

– Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek was delegated to the Ministry of Justice on August 25, 2025. She assumed the position of General Counsel in the Minister's Office – the ministry announced.

This marks Ewa Wrzosek's return to the Ministry of Justice. At the end of 2024, Adam Bodnar had recalled her from her delegation to the ministry and the National Council of Prosecutors.

As stated in the latest communiqué: – Her task will be ongoing, substantive cooperation on behalf of the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General with the National Public Prosecutor's Office, as well as presenting recommendations on matters related to the activities of the Prosecutor General.

– These are matters that will be deliberated this week. One more Council of Ministers meeting is still planned. We will be providing information on all of this directly with Minister Domański. A special conference on this matter will be organized. On Thursday – stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

– By the next sitting of the Sejm, by September 8th, the government will prepare another draft law that will regulate all these issues, because we are potentially facing chaos to which such a veto could lead. Therefore, the government will certainly prepare further proposed solutions that will protect us from this chaos, which that veto might generate – stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

"Of course, the Prime Minister, along with the government, will participate in tomorrow's Cabinet Council meeting. We are in working contact – I'm referring to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister – with the Chancellery of the President," Adam Szłapka said at a press conference.

"As late as yesterday, the Chancellery of the President was inquiring whether the Prime Minister would speak in this first part [of the meeting]. We confirmed this, also in line with the long-standing tradition that has always applied to Cabinet Council meetings, where it is always the President who speaks in the first part, open to the media. We confirmed that the Prime Minister will also speak, in accordance with tradition," the government spokesperson announced.

– The Council of Ministers is working on a solution that will regulate the issue of benefits for all foreigners in Poland, not just for Ukrainians […] and not only the 800 plus benefit, but all those that are potentially payable – and will link them to work or to being registered in the ZUS system, which is directly related to work. This solution is already being prepared – said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

– Of course, the law that was vetoed is a comprehensive solution regarding protection status. We have no choice but to prepare another solution. But it will go in parallel with a very serious regulation concerning the issue of social benefits for all foreigners in Poland. That is, a broader solution than the one mentioned by the president – he pointed out.

– Well, this is harmful, somewhat detrimental to the government. I understand that the new president wants to make their presence felt at the beginning of their term, but the election campaign is over. The time for bluster has ended, the time for heavy-handed tactics has ended – stated Jan Grabiec on TVN24's “Fakty po faktach”.

– It's time to take responsibility for the role the Constitution grants the president. These vetoes are somewhat indiscriminate, senseless, from the perspective of Poles' daily lives, but I hope the president will learn lessons and think twice next time before making such decisions – continued the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

– There will be a new government bill. Quite the opposite, it will contain provisions we have been working on for several months that will tighten the entire system, not just 800+, but also other benefits, including social benefits, received by citizens of other countries in Poland – stated Jan Grabiec on "Fakty po faktach" TVN24.

– They constantly repeat that those who govern Ukraine today are fascists, Nazis, and today, the attempt to equate, for instance, the issue of Banderism with fascism, aligns with this Russian narrative. The Russians therefore claim they are bombing a Ukrainian city because they are fighting fascism. In a sense, President Nawrocki, with his careless statement, offered a helping hand to Putin – stated Jan Grabiec on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

– Primarily, there are legislative measures concerning changes to regulations. If that is not possible, then other steps will be taken. Let me remind you that the term of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) is also coming to an end. It's a matter of a few months, so sooner or later, these individuals will leave this building – stated Jan Grabiec on 'Fakty po faktach' on TVN24.

– Of course, it is very possible [Szymon Hołownia in the government]. It seems natural [the role of deputy prime minister], it's a classic arrangement in which leaders of coalition parties join the government, taking responsibility for the functioning of the entire government and those areas of life under their purview – stated Jan Grabiec on 'Fakty po Faktach' TVN24.

– There is certainly nothing to discuss with Konfederacja today, neither with the liberal nor the illiberal leaders of this party. Today, our coalition holds a stable majority. I understand that perhaps Marshal Zgorzelski wants to send some signals to those who are currently Konfederacja voters, but who did not like the vision in which Konfederacja would politically cooperate with PiS. There are many such voters, and hence this signaling that there is a place for these voters on the democratic side – stated Jan Grabiec on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach."

– 80 percent of Ukrainians living in Poland work, and they can legitimately deserve various forms of system accommodations for them. For those who work. However, there is also a group that does not work, and if someone does not work, it is difficult for them to generate money for the economy – said Marcin Przydacz on „Gość Wydarzeń” Polsat News.

– I recall that not so long ago, liberal Poland was saying that Polish women absolutely shouldn't receive the 800 plus benefit, because they would simply spend it on frivolous things. And now, this same liberal Poland is fighting against Karol Nawrocki for Ukrainians. The level of hypocrisy here, however, reaches its zenith – said Marcin Przydacz on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

– On Thursday, a very important, large meeting will be held here in Warsaw. The presidents of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and the Prime Minister of Denmark will come at the invitation of President Karol Nawrocki. These are our important NATO allies here in the region, – Marcin Przydacz stated on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń."

– We will discuss Eastern policy, security policy, what is happening in Ukraine, and, of course, the talks taking place between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, – he explained.

– Naturally, there will be talks [...] about what common message can be conveyed in the United States, what needs to be advocated for during discussions in Washington. The President is going to Washington in a few days and wants to be the voice of the region, but also wants to first listen to the region, so that – as a leader of this region – he can go with a certain established position on Russia, – he indicated.

"We cannot disregard the fact that today, discussions revolve around Russian policy, and certainly one of our main tasks – as President Nawrocki himself defines it – is to convince Americans of the true nature of Vladimir Putin and Russia's actual policy," Marcin Przydacz stated on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– If we consider that the president is on some offensive, then this is a foolish offensive. Foolish because it introduces a great deal of chaos and disorder. And in reality, with this veto, the president shows not that he cares about public money or the Polish national interest, but solely that he will focus on fighting the government – stated Marcin Kierwiński on “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, when asked about President Nawrocki's veto of the law on aid for Ukrainians.

– The truth is that this veto by the president can potentially introduce a lot of chaos and enormous costs for Poles. Because, in reality, we are talking about a system that was introduced already under previous administrations, already under PiS governments, in order to help war refugees – because these are war refugees – adapt here in Poland – Kierwiński continued.

– This also stems from international regulations. Today, blocking these regulations does not at all create a situation where these people will suddenly disappear from Poland. No, these people will remain in a legal vacuum, because they will stay in Poland. However, for many weeks, they may potentially not be able to find work. What does this mean? The Polish budget will lose out on this, the Polish labour market will lose out on this, everyone will lose out on this. Everyone will pay for this, and President Nawrocki will be telling nonsense about how he defends Polish interests. No, he does not defend Polish interests – he emphasized.

– If someone breaks Polish law, they must be prepared for the consequences. There is nothing extraordinary about that. I understand that one can now try to relativize it: someone just jumped over the fence, someone just shoved a security guard, someone just, just fought with a security guard – stated Marcin Kierwiński on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24, when asked about deportations after Max Korzh's concert at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

– No, that is breaking Polish law, and in this respect, individuals, foreigners residing in Poland, regardless of whether they are Ukrainians, I don't know, Colombians, or any other nationality, if they break Polish law, it means they must reckon with the fact that Poland will not be as hospitable towards them as it wants to be and as it has been until now. And it is entirely natural to me that on matters as fundamental as upholding Polish law, we will act firmly and decisively – he continued.

– This is a very stupid and irresponsible action. You know, since 1918, indeed, since Józef Piłsudski, there has been a doctrine in Polish politics: that of a buffer state, the state of Ukraine, which separates us from imperial Russia. And all successive governments after 1989, and critically, even those before the outbreak of World War II, knew that an independent Ukraine is in our interest – stated Marcin Kierwiński on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24, when asked about Sławomir Mentzen's post on the "X" platform, in which he welcomed the information that we would not be financing Starlinks for Ukraine.

– It is not the President's role to quiz anyone. I understand there is the formula of the Cabinet Council, meaning the government deliberating with the President, but this is not, you know, only a teacher can quiz a student at school. The President is not a teacher here – stated Marcin Kierwiński on “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, asked about President Nawrocki’s announcements regarding tomorrow’s Cabinet Council.

– According to the Polish Constitution, foreign policy is conducted by the government, and it is natural for me that the President should travel to the United States after a meeting with either the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, or the Minister of Foreign Affairs, after at least discussing specific instructions regarding the directions of Polish foreign policy – concluded Kierwiński.
