This will be, in a way, a sign that we have a new Poland.

Bąkiewicz:
Border Sealed, But Many Unanswered Questions Remain
– Of course, we don't know everything. We can rely on what the services say and what we observe. But what we observe is only a subjective assessment of the events taking place at the western border. Germany reports an 80% year-on-year drop in migrant smuggling – I think we should be pleased with ourselves – said Robert Bąkiewicz on Super Express's "Poranny Ring" program.
– We ourselves also observe that this border has certainly been sealed. However, many unanswered questions still remain. We know that the Polish Border Guard very often crosses over to the German side, entering, for example, the premises of Bundespolizei commands. There is a risk that migrants are currently entering Poland this way – he stated.
08:25
– I believe this isn't just about testing our system; it's generally about testing the West's reaction and resilience. These types of situations occur quite often and not only in Poland [...] Moldova, Romania. But we also recall that such incidents have been happening for years, for instance, Russian aircraft incursions into British airspace – stated Adam Szłapka on "Poranek TOK FM".
08:37
Szłapka:
Even with Highly Sophisticated Systems, Drones Can Get Through. There Are Always Some Vulnerabilities.
– This is an isolated incident, and of course, it can be concerning – said Adam Szłapka on TOK FM.
– This particular case is a decoy. Meaning, its purpose is [...] to fly into airspace and test its resilience. Combat drones are targeted differently. And even with very advanced drone systems and anti-drone defenses during wartime, when a country is engaged, there are still instances where a drone flies deep into that country's airspace, for example, the Ukrainian drone that crashed over the Kremlin – he continued.
– We have one incident, and not all attempts are necessarily always known, so that's why we invest in making this system secure. There are always certain vulnerabilities – he continued.
– Combat drones are, of course, tracked; that's why these systems are built, but they are never 100% impenetrable […]. Situations in which a single, individual aircraft, designed to fly in such a way that it goes undetected, enters a given country, do occur. A missile even entered Poland during the PiS government's time – he added.
08:43
Bąkiewicz:
'There's No Evidence We're Criminals or Thugs. The Charges Are Fabricated, This is a Political Case.'
– "This is clearly a political matter. In my opinion, the point is precisely to prevent us, as the Border Defense Movement (Ruch Obrony Granic), and me as ROG leader, from operating effectively. We have exposed a certain ineptitude, an indolence of the Polish state, and therefore we must bear the consequences, and they need to turn us into criminals and thugs," – said Robert Bąkiewicz on Super Express's "Morning Ring" program.
– "Since there's no proof that we are actually criminals and thugs, fictitious attempts are being made to take action so that the public watching us would be convinced that Bąkiewicz is, after all, a criminal," – he continued.
He assessed: – "These are absurd charges, unfounded in fact, and this Polish-German border is just the icing on the cake, because it shows that this is not about insulting officers of Polish services, but rather about preventing us from approaching the border."
– "The prosecutor's office is leveling trumped-up charges, forced by Korneluk to do so, even though it states – because the prosecutor's office in Gorzów Wielkopolski says this – that there are no grounds for bringing these charges. In other words, a political factor is forcing prosecutors to bring charges," – he added.
08:44
Szłapka:
President Takes Greater Responsibility for US Cooperation as Part of PM-President Agreements
– If you’re asking specifically […] about the meeting between President Karol Nawrocki and the Prime Minister, then yes, that was part of the agreements. Firstly, that issues related to foreign policy, security policy, and diplomacy must be agreed upon, and there must be cooperation here – said Adam Szłapka on TOK FM.
– And if it is indeed the case that Americans are, and I say this in inverted commas, 'accustomed' to cooperating with Poland at the presidential level […] then the President and the Presidential Palace take on greater responsibility in this area; however, this does not change the fact that Poland can only have one foreign policy – he continued.
08:48
Szłapka:
Deputy Minister Reshuffle Will Happen, But I Won't Commit to a Date
– Some changes concerning deputy ministers have already been implemented; apparently, ministers, especially the new ones, still need a little more time to prepare it, – Adam Szłapka told TOK FM.
– Yes, it will happen [the reshuffle of deputy ministers], but responsibly, I won't commit to a specific date, because again I'll have to explain myself for it, and that's not actually my fault in that regard, – he continued.
09:09
Bąkiewicz:
Border Situation Has Decisively Improved, But Low Public Trust Keeps Us There
– Currently, there are about 100 people at the borders. Our main activities involve mobile monitoring, meaning we drive through. There are a few points that are continuously maintained. We simply observe how the Border Guard operates and whether any exchanges are taking place. These mobile patrols operate in areas without official border crossings, meaning river crossings, small bridges, and there we observe the situation – said Robert Bąkiewicz on Super Express's "Poranny Ring" program.
– It must be said that the situation has genuinely and significantly improved. However, because public trust in the authorities today is relatively low, that's why we're still there. I believe this is why border controls have been extended for another month – he noted.
09:20
Bąkiewicz:
If Convicted, I Will Ask President Nawrocki to Take Action
– Absolutely, [I will appeal to President Karol Nawrocki for a pardon] if I am penalized [for insulting officers]. I hope that no court that wishes to objectively assess this situation will convict me – said Robert Bąkiewicz in Super Express's „Poranny Ring” program.
– However, considering that politically motivated verdicts against me have already occurred, if such a situation were to arise, I believe I will ask President Karol Nawrocki to take action – he stated.
09:32
– The preparation of a new formula for cooperation between the President of the Republic of Poland and parliament – this is the task I have entrusted to two MPs, former ministers, Marcin Horała and Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk. Thank you for taking on this challenge! – wrote President Karol Nawrocki on platform X.

Bosacki on the drone explosion in the Lublin region:
Today we will deliver a note to Russia.
– […] We have very clear information from the Ministry of National Defense that this is a drone used by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. It was probably intended for use against Ukraine, flew through a part of Ukrainian territory, and fell in Poland – stated Marcin Bosacki in 'RMF FM's Morning Talk'.
– It is necessary to protest in every instance when a foreign drone or any other object, such as the missile near Bydgoszcz, or any other object or fragment thereof from another state, enters the territory of the Republic of Poland. Of course, in this case, we will protest against the actions of the Russian Federation, because it was a Russian drone. We in diplomacy perhaps use slightly less categorical words than the military, hence this lexical difference – he continued.
– Please note that the incident occurred yesterday. We are still awaiting its full explanation. If Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz has proof that this was a deliberate provocation, we will then, of course, be open to toughening the tone of this diplomatic note, which, I emphasize, we will deliver to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation today – concluded Bosacki.
10:30
– That was not the subject of the government meeting. After the government meeting, we had a discussion on this topic, initiated, by the way, by my arrangements with Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, who chaired the government meeting. Was it heated? No, – stated Marcin Bosacki in "RMF FM's Morning Talk," when asked about the discussion at the government meeting concerning the situation related to Poland's lack of representation at the Washington summit.
– However, it was a clear formulation, or rather a reiteration by the government, of constitutional decisions and principles, stating that foreign policy has been, is, and will be conducted by the government of the Republic of Poland, and the president, in his ambitions, can only aspire to be a representative, – he pointed out.
– Let me reiterate. There was criticism of certain statements not even by the president himself, but by his representatives in this matter, who, forgetting what the Polish constitution entails, in some statements usurp the authority to conduct [foreign policy] for the president, – he continued.
10:37
– I don't know why, but the minister is not telling the truth, and what's more, he knows it. Firstly, two high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been in telephone contact [with Minister Przydacz], and this contact has been ongoing since last Wednesday, when, as we know, the first teleconferences before the summit in Alaska took place, involving both transatlantic and intra-European groups. And I want to state this very clearly, and anyone who says otherwise is lying – from the very beginning, it was at the initiative of the MFA, and mine as well, that attempts were made to reach Minister Przydacz. Minister Przydacz did not respond to my attempts at contact – stated Marcin Bosacki in 'Poranna Rozmowa RMF FM' (RMF FM's Morning Talk), when asked about communication between the MFA and the Presidential Palace.
– I called and sent text messages. And not just since last Wednesday. We tried – I, along with Director-General Rafał Wiśniewski, are obliged by Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski to establish contact with the Chancellery of the President. Of course, after the swearing-in, it was clear that the person we should be speaking with is Minister Przydacz, newly appointed to this position in the Chancellery of the President by President Nawrocki. He did not initiate this contact even once. However, he did engage in other contact with high-ranking MFA officials, and from last Wednesday throughout the weekend, this contact was maintained via telephone – he continued.
– After each teleconference – and there have been nine so far – involving either Prime Minister Tusk or Prime Minister Sikorski, the MFA immediately dispatches notes, meaning on the same day, or at the latest, by the next morning. These notes, of course, are not public, outlining the proceedings of these consultations. As we know, there were two teleconferences involving President Nawrocki, last Wednesday and on Saturday morning. To date – and over a week has passed since the first one – we have not received this kind of normal official correspondence between state bodies from the Chancellery of the President – Bosacki concluded.
10:39
Says Bosacki on White House Summit:
Only President Nawrocki Could Attend in That Format,
– [...] It was unfortunate that Poland's representative wasn't there. That representative of Poland, due to the formal arrangements of this format last Wednesday – arrangements which the president's aides were actually very proud of, saying themselves that they 'outmaneuvered' Prime Minister Tusk and that in this format, it would be President Nawrocki, not Prime Minister Tusk – stated Marcin Bosacki in 'RMF FM's Morning Talk,' when asked if the president should have been at Monday's meeting in the White House.
– In this format, only President Nawrocki could have been there, because it was a continuation of a format that had previously connected via teleconferences. The question of why President Nawrocki was ultimately not there is a question for the president's aides, – he pointed out.
– We certainly confirm the desire for a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and the president. Moreover, the president announced such a meeting, I believe, on the day of his swearing-in or the day after. Well, two weeks have passed, and unfortunately, that meeting hasn't happened. I can also say, since the other side is revealing a certain kind of behind-the-scenes information, then I will reveal some too. I had a personal promise from Minister Przydacz for a meeting. But again, more than two weeks have passed, and that meeting hasn't happened – he continued, asked if further meetings between government representatives and the president are planned.
10:41
Bosacki on Russia's Proposal:
An aggressor cannot guarantee the victim's safety from itself.
– These are, of course, unserious proposals. An aggressor cannot guarantee the victim's security from itself. What is important after Alaska and after the meeting in Washington is the confirmed – also during these teleconferences, this is also not a secret, so I can say this, by Washington representatives, not only President Trump, but for example, Vice President JD Vance, I, of course, participated as an observer in one such teleconference with Prime Minister Tusk also present – confirmed American declaration that Americans will join in guaranteeing Ukraine's security – stated Marcin Bosacki in “Poranna rozmowa RMF FM,” when asked about the Russian proposal for security guarantees for Ukraine.
– Yes, that is a key question, and here we hear an American message that is not always consistent. One time the message is: we do not rule out sending troops, another time the message is: we will not send troops, but we will support this mission, which Europeans are to carry out, from the air, with intelligence information, from the rear, which means presumably in Poland, in Rzeszów. As we hear from European declarations, mainly the French and the British – he continued.
11:30
– We learned [about the drone] at around that time – I'm talking about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs... we learned before noon. Whether it was 10 AM or 11 AM, we can check that, but it was, well, quite a bit before noon. […] But the communication between the Ministry of National Defence and us was continuous throughout yesterday – stated Marcin Bosacki during "RMF FM's Morning Conversation."
12:17
– The incident involving the violation of Polish airspace, the so-called Russian drone incident – I assure you that the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), Minister Sławomir Cenckiewicz, is in constant contact with the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The BBN is monitoring the entire matter, and we, at the Chancellery of the President, will, of course, investigate and monitor the matter in the coming days and weeks – said President Karol Nawrocki during a statement.
– So, I reassure the public that Minister Cenckiewicz and the entire BBN are in regular contact with the Ministry of National Defence (MON) – he assured.
12:25
Nawrocki:
'Poland First, Poles First' Will Guide My Analysis of Laws
– This is an excellent opportunity to present to both the parliamentary majority and the Polish government a certain scope, and that political, social, and presidential sentiment that will define the next 5 years. It will be no secret to anyone that all laws analyzed by the President of Poland and the Chancellery of the President will be guided by not only the election slogan but by a core principle: 'Poland first, Poles first' – said President Karol Nawrocki during a statement.
– I am not interested in parliamentary sentiment. Of course, I follow the discussions in the Polish parliament, but the distribution of votes in the Polish parliament does not have a fundamental impact on my decision as president – he added.
12:27
– There is one bill that I have also unequivocally decided to veto as the President of Poland, the wind turbine act – because that is, in essence, what we should call it – is a form of blackmail by the parliamentary majority and the government, not only against the President of the Republic but also against society – said President Karol Nawrocki in a statement to the media.
– This bill concerns wind turbines, not the reduction of electricity prices. To lower electricity prices, we must abandon what most significantly impacts electricity prices, namely ETS; we must move away from the Green Deal, and the attempt at a media and public narrative that electricity prices can be lowered through wind turbines and, in general, the entire renewable energy component, is a flawed premise – he continued.
– What most concerned me about this bill was not that, but the fact that many people across Poland […] protested against it. It is an obvious fact and an obvious emotion that people do not want 150-meter wind turbines near their homes. […] Moving away from the 10H rule, reducing the distance to 500 meters, is not socially acceptable, and I am the voice of Poles – he went on.
– The wind turbine act, which has not been well-received by society, has been vetoed. […] My decision also stems from the fact that I agree with the position of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Infrastructure, as the Ministry of National Defense […] saw certain threats in this act to logistics, infrastructure, and air forces, while the Ministry of Infrastructure drew attention to potential threats to road safety – he added.
12:33
– This is also a moment for me to encourage both the parliamentary majority and the Polish government to consult on the form of legislation proposed to the President of Poland already at the stage of parliamentary work – said President Karol Nawrocki during a statement.
– This, with good cooperation and the engagement of ministers, will certainly lead to a situation where there will be fewer vetoes – he pointed out.
12:39
"However, in that law [the so-called wind farm bill], which was vetoed, there are solutions that meet with my approval and the approval of the entire Chancellery – this is obviously the issue of freezing electricity prices, which I have been calling for since the beginning of 2025, even as a candidate for president," said President Karol Nawrocki in a statement to the media.
"So today I also signed a proposal that is literally taken from the law that was vetoed. We, in the Presidential Chancellery, did not change a single comma in the proposal to freeze electricity prices. The Polish Sejm is scheduled to convene on September 9th, the Polish Senate on September 24th, and from September 24th, I will be ready to sign the law on freezing electricity prices," he continued.
12:44
– Last week, together with Minister Bogucki and the entire Chancellery of the President, we delved into and analyzed all the laws sent to the President's Chancellery by the Polish parliament. I would like to announce today that 22 such laws have been considered. These are the first laws I am signing as President of Poland, and the first matters I am dealing with – said President Karol Nawrocki during a statement.
– The first law I signed is the law on veterans of operations outside the Republic of Poland. This law is beneficial for Polish soldiers. […] Without any doubt, I signed the law concerning the Teacher's Charter, which gained a degree of consensus in the Polish parliament. I am glad that solutions have been prepared for the teaching community that they had been waiting for – he continued.
– Among these 21 laws that received my approval, there is also the law concerning June pensions and deregulatory laws – he further listed.
12:45
Tusk on the President's Veto of the So-Called Wind Farm Act:
Ill Will or Catastrophic Incompetence.
"Ill will or catastrophic incompetence on the part of President Nawrocki. It's not out of the question that it's both. His veto means more expensive electricity for all Poles – today and in the future. He failed his first tests: in diplomacy and energy. Everyone will pay," Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on X.

12:51
– In this [so-called wind farm] act, there were also solutions that today Mr. Minister and Mr. Minister Rabenda will be focusing on together with the biogas industry. Of course, we support these efforts by both experts and representatives of the biogas industry, which also offers the possibility of expanding the range or portfolio of renewable energy sources – stated President Karol Nawrocki in a media statement.
– In these renewable energy sources, there must be room for both biogas plants and, of course, also for wind farms [...] and for black gold, meaning Polish coal, and I hope that in the future also for Polish nuclear power. Therefore, today a meeting will be held with experts specifically from the biogas industry, and we will prepare concrete solutions that, I hope, will have a positive impact on the Polish electricity sector – he continued.
12:55
Nawrocki:
Concrete Solutions for Electricity Prices Coming in 100 Days
– I wanted to assure all of you that, in line with my declaration, within 100 days we will prepare a draft law and concrete solutions regarding electricity prices, so that electricity in Poland – and we can afford this – would be lower, and so that Poles would feel the expected relief. However, this cannot be linked to the blackmail of the lobbying industry and politicians who introduced such solutions in the Polish Senate – said President Karol Nawrocki in a statement for the media.
13:07
Bogucki:
President Nawrocki Will Not Succumb to Any Blackmail – Neither Political Nor Lobbying
– This was a ploy [regarding wind turbines in the energy price-freezing bill] designed to put the President against the wall and attempt to blackmail the head of state. The President will not succumb to any blackmail: neither political, nor lobbying, nor any other kind – said Zbigniew Bogucki in an interview with journalists.
13:11
– Today, the Polish parliament, and specifically the governing majority, faces a simple task – to swiftly pass this bill [regarding the freezing of energy prices, carved out from the so-called Wind Farm Act] – Zbigniew Bogucki told reporters.
– They are familiar with this bill, they have analyzed its implications, it has already passed through parliamentary committees, the Sejm, and the Senate. It can truly be done very quickly. The President, I am convinced, will sign it on the first day it reaches his desk. This can still comfortably be achieved in September, as this bill is already well-known to the Polish parliament and government – he continued.
13:34
– We have very good news, which was announced today by the Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. […] Due to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, the persistent conflict, and Poland's role in securing the logistical transfer to Ukraine – serving as the largest aid hub for both military equipment and humanitarian assistance – the Kingdom of the Netherlands has declared its support for systems safeguarding our airspace, specifically air defense systems – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in Tarnów.
– Starting this December, for the next several months, two sets of Patriot systems will be deployed in Poland to protect Polish skies. […] This is a significant effort for the Netherlands; the Netherlands possesses three such Patriot systems, and two of these are being transferred to Poland – announced the Defence Minister.
He added: – Along with these systems, Dutch soldiers – 300 of them – and anti-drone systems will also arrive in Poland.
– There will also be Dutch F-35 aircraft. They will patrol Polish skies – he announced.
13:56
Kosiniak-Kamysz:
'I Regret that the President Vetoed the Wind Farm Bill, the Bill on Lower Electricity Prices'
"As for the wind farm bill – or, more accurately, the bill on lower electricity prices, as that was a crucial aspect of this legislation – I regret that the president vetoed it. It's not a good decision, because electricity prices would be lower if the bill, which would have allowed for the freezing of energy prices and the development of renewable energy sources, had been signed today," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in Tarnów.
15:19
Szłapka:
It's Only Thursday, and the President Has Already Made Two Terrible Mistakes This Week
– During the election campaign, the then-candidate, and today President Karol Nawrocki, promised that within 100 days there would be cheaper energy bills and cheaper energy, and I think we are dealing with a very serious lie – stated Adam Szłapka at a press briefing.
– A bill lay on the president's desk, prepared by the government, whose precise aim was to lower energy prices for Poles, short-term – because this bill included an energy price freeze for the upcoming third quarter – but also long-term, because it contained a very good solution for the development of wind energy and onshore wind turbines. These are the most effective from the perspective of energy transformation, and they are accepted by the majority of society, because according to recent polls, significantly over 50% of Poles accept such solutions – he continued.
– The president's decision is, first of all, simply not consistent with what he promised, because it is effectively hitting Poles in their pockets. Whether this is mere malice directed against the government, or if it is simply incompetence – it is simply a bad decision, it is a fundamental mistake – he went on to say.
– It's only Thursday today, and this week the president has already made two terrible mistakes, and both are bad from Poland's point of view. Of course, the government – the Ministry of Climate, the Ministry of Energy – will not give up. Of course, we will also prepare solutions that will strive to make the development of onshore wind energy possible – he added.
"We will not give up"
– This bill was really good, because the final decision on building such turbines could be made by local communities and local governments, and within distances of 500 to 1000 meters, there was a special bonus for households: 20,000 annually to be shared among households that decided to have such a turbine installed, meaning additional sources of funding – noted the government spokesperson.
– We will not give up; we will continue to work on good solutions – he said.

Says MFA Spokesperson on Note Handed to Russian Embassy:
Poland Demands Clarification of Incident and Cessation of Similar, Provocative Actions,
– Today in the afternoon, a protest note was handed to the Embassy of the Russian Federation regarding the events that transpired in Osiny on the night of August 19-20. As a reminder, an unmanned aerial vehicle exploded there – said MFA Spokesperson Paweł Wroński during a press conference.
– In this note, Poland indicates that the Russian Federation violated the 1992 Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, as well as the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, and numerous customary laws. According to the MFA, this incident is a deliberate provocation by the Russian Federation, an element of hybrid warfare, and another highly unfriendly act against the Republic of Poland, as well as against European states – he continued.
– Poland condemns all actions that pose a threat to the civilian population and reiterates that such an event is related to Russia's aggression against Ukraine [...]. Poland demands an explanation of this incident from the Russian Federation and the cessation of similar provocative actions – he further stated.
– In the opinion of the MFA, this incident undermines the credibility of the Russian Federation as a reliable participant in any peace process and as a participant in any actions within the international community – he added.

Szefernaker on Nawrocki's Veto:
A Bold Decision on a Crucial Issue for Poles.
"A bold decision on a crucial issue for Poles," said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanal Zero, when asked about President Karol Nawrocki's veto concerning the so-called wind farm act.
20:12
Szefernaker:
If Tusk Returns from Vacation, There's a Chance No One Will Pay Higher Electricity Bills
– Poles will not pay more, if the presidential bill, which was submitted to the Sejm today, introducing energy shields, is adopted by the Sejm. In that case, they will not pay – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanal Zero.
– There are over 30 days for this. There is a Sejm session on September 9th, then a Senate session on September 24th. The President can sign this bill immediately, he announced today. And the shields will come into force, if only the government is willing. If Donald Tusk returns from vacation, there is a possibility that no one will pay higher bills. And that is what the President is striving for – he stated.
20:22
– There are certainly two visions for Poland. This is not a matter of personal conflict, but a conflict between two distinct visions – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero, when asked about the 'war between the presidential camp and the ruling coalition.'
– Poles voted for a specific program, for a specific candidate […] who clearly stated that he would want to spur the government to work, and that is how this term will unfold – he continued.
20:27
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Comments on President's Veto of Wind Energy Bill:
I'll Make Poles Suffer Just to Spite This Government.
– "No surprises, but still a huge disappointment, because this is a decision that goes against logic, facts, and the reasonable expectation of most Poles. Studies, even those published today, show that a decisive majority of Poles, over 60%, support the development of wind energy, while about 24% are opposed. What's more, even the Law and Justice (PiS) electorate is more 'for' than 'against.' So, this is entirely against people's expectations and against Poland's developmental needs," stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the TVN24 program "Fakty po faktach" (Facts after Facts), when asked about the president's veto of the wind power bill and the energy price freeze.
– "It's hard to explain. I have a sense that this is either a case of 'I'll make Poles suffer just to spite this government,' or some kind of anti-green ideology, where whatever comes up, we go against it, even if the facts support it, even if developmental logic supports it," she continued.
– "And let's look at the facts. We are subsidizing coal extraction by 9 billion zlotys this year alone. This means we subsidize each person employed in coal mining by approximately 100,000 zlotys. These are truly enormous sums of money. Coal is simply no longer profitable. What is profitable is energy from Renewable Energy Sources (RES) – that is, wind turbines, photovoltaic panels, biogas – plus gas-fired power generation, and in the future, nuclear energy. This is the energy mix we should be striving for, and saying goodbye to coal is no longer [...] saying goodbye to coal is now purely an economic calculation," she continued.
20:29
Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the President's Demands:
This Is Not a Presidential System.
– We have a parliamentary system with some significant role for the president, but it is not a presidential system – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the TVN24 program "Fakty po faktach," when asked about the president's words, who wants every bill to be consulted with him during the legislative process.
– What's more, there is, after all, the Law and Justice parliamentary club in the Sejm, which can submit amendments and influence the shape of laws. Therefore, I somewhat don't understand what the President is talking about, but if what he is saying is to be interpreted as "I will not sign anything, whether it is good for the people or bad, whether it is good for Poland, simply because someone didn't consult me," then that is, that would be [...] truly a deplorable stance, because it would be an attitude of "my ego is most important, my person is most important, and whether something is good for Poland, good for Poles, good for development, is secondary" – she continued.
– [...] Power is responsibility, and power is truly meant to serve. It is also a service, and not simply saying, "everything must revolve around me, and I will veto everything out of spite for everyone if my authority, my throne, is not respected." Well, I hope that this is not such a stance – Pełczyńska-Nałęcz continued.

Szefernaker:
Tusk Faces Over 55% Negative Government Ratings – A Record in Such Short Order
– The public's trust in successive governments had endured for many years. Today, less than two years after taking office, Donald Tusk has over 55% negative ratings as prime minister – a record for such a short period, – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.
20:32
– […] The entire National Recovery Plan (NRP) comprises, well, 3,000 to 850,000 agreements. There are most likely irregularities in a minority portion of this 'HoReCa' investment. What these irregularities are, we are investigating. Audits have been launched for the entire program. They are being conducted with great scrutiny today. Since public opinion has expressed concern, I take this very seriously. These are public funds, and therefore I have directed such a comprehensive audit of this entire program – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the program „Fakty po faktach” on TVN24, when asked about the irregularities in spending funds from the 'HoReCa' investment under the NRP program.
– All agreements will be verified, and those we deem controversial will be thoroughly audited. We are also auditing the operators, five operators. This is because there could have been irregularities on the part of the beneficiaries, but there could also be on the part of the operators, for instance, if this or that agreement was signed due to a conflict of interest. We are checking all of this – she continued.
– In mid-September, I will provide the first update, a more concrete one. At the end of September, there will be another update. In the meantime, if we see that there are agreements that are in order, we will release funds, because we truly respect the entrepreneurs and various beneficiaries, most of whom are honest – Pełczyńska-Nałęcz concluded.

– This [visit to the USA] will be the Polish president's first foreign visit. I can add, because this is news from today, it hasn't appeared anywhere yet, that the president, returning from Washington – in line with what he announced during the election campaign – will also undertake an official visit to the Vatican and meet with the Pope on September 5th – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.
– September 3rd – a meeting at the White House, in Washington. September 5th – an already confirmed meeting in the Vatican with the Pope – he indicated.

Szefernaker:
This Team Believed Their Own Lies. They Fell for Their Own Propaganda, and Today They Have to Eat Their Words
– This team believed their election lies. I'm saying this in all seriousness [...] it only took a few hours, when on December 13, 2023, I was in the office where I had served for years, packing up, to put it colloquially. Even then, I received information that the first questions had been raised, for instance, about wiretaps at the Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA) – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.
– That's when the first questions were asked; on the very first day, individuals who arrived at the ministry with Civic Platform, alongside Minister Kierwiński, began to inquire whether a certain bureau, one of the bureaus, was conducting operational surveillance. And in that bureau, they learned that we were not conducting any operational surveillance – he continued.
– They simply walked in and immediately bought into it; they started acting on what they had believed during the campaign, and those were lies – it was simply one big lie on which they won in 2023 – he went on to say.
– They believed in their own propaganda, and today, on many issues, they also have to eat their own words – he added.

– Everyone who doesn't put Poland first, because President Nawrocki, in all his actions, will primarily think of Polish interests – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanal Zero, when asked who should fear President Nawrocki.
– All those who represent some other lobby in Poland [...] the lobby of other interests, we must primarily focus on good, Polish solutions – he continued.

Szefernaker:
Przydacz Heads to Washington to Pave the Way for Nawrocki's Visit
– Today, preparations for this visit [Karol Nawrocki's visit to the White House] are underway, so it is still difficult to specify concrete details regarding its agenda. However, they will be extremely important in terms of security – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.
– Minister Marcin Przydacz is currently en route to Washington and will hold preparatory meetings for this visit tomorrow – he announced.

Szefernaker:
It's possible to maintain good relations with another president while firmly asserting Poland's interests. I'm convinced Trump will understand.
– Poland's interest is paramount. One does not preclude the other. You can have good relations with another president while simultaneously very firmly asserting Poland's interests. I am convinced that Donald Trump will also understand this – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.

Szefernaker:
I Rubbed My Eyes in Disbelief at How Unprofessional Trzaskowski's Campaign Was
— "Is that professional campaign preparation, if, in the most important pre-election debate, the Mayor of Warsaw makes 6 or 7 mistakes on matters related to the city he's been managing for 6 or 7 years, right? He made mistakes on many issues, lacked basic knowledge, had no idea at all what he was talking about," said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero.
— "He was left to his own devices; he just stood there, even during those various appearances, as I observed across the country. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief that this campaign was so unprofessional, but of course, I wasn't lamenting it," he continued.

– That interview with Donald Tusk, such a famous interview by the Prime Minister [with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat], we watched it, as it so happened, with Adam Bielan and Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, and we truly didn't know where it was all coming from, because it seemed that the Prime Minister of the Polish government was entering the game, who, de facto, in the final stretch, with his statements, also helped this campaign – said Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero, when asked about Prime Minister Donald Tusk's involvement in Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign.
– I think he helped our campaign in this situation – he continued.

Dials into Kanał Zero:
Karol from Gdańsk
During a live call-in session with viewers, held during an interview with Paweł Szefernaker on Kanał Zero, President Karol Nawrocki phoned the studio.
– Good evening, Karol from Gdańsk, performing duties for the Polish state with great pleasure and honour in Warsaw – he greeted.
– What a setup… Good day, Mr. President – commented Robert Mazurek.
– It’s easier to get through to Kanał Zero than to one’s own minister, his irreplaceable chief of staff. […] I’m calling with greetings for the editor, for my minister – replied Nawrocki.
Later, the conversation, among other things, turned to the topic of the president’s watch. Karol Nawrocki sent greetings to Krzysztof Stanowski and announced that he would visit Kanał Zero in the near future.
This will be, in a way, a sign that we have a new Poland.
