Today will see the primaries within Civic Coalition – their results are to be announced tomorrow during the National Council meeting. Rafał Trzaskowski and Radosław Sikorski are vying for the presidential nomination.

At **10:00 AM**, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the XLIII National Congress of Delegates of the Polish Teachers' Union.

At **3:00 PM**, a press briefing will take place at the Ministry of Justice with the participation of the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and the EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders.

Friday is also another day of the 22nd Sejm session. Between **9:00 AM** and **10:30 AM**, a report from the investigative committee on the "envelope elections" will be presented, while between **12:00 PM** and **1:30 PM**, the first reading of the citizens' bill obliging public authorities to implement the Central Communication Port investment will occur. The proceedings will last until **6:00 PM**.

- This change [in health contributions] will not mean a reduction in the National Health Fund’s revenue. The total amount of funds that the National Health Fund will receive will be no less than what it has received up to now – stated Maciej Berek on PR1’s “Sygnały dnia” (Signals of the Day).

- The government will not suspend its activities for the duration of the presidential campaign; we will continue to perform our duties as usual. Secondly, the minister has been assigned specific tasks with the consultation of this project. Once this project [concerning hospitals] is ready after these consultations, we will proceed further - stated Maciej Berek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

- But if it happens, I will be happy because we will finally be able to campaign with our candidate. If it is Karol Nawrocki – yes, he will win the presidential election – stated Przemysław Czarnek in a conversation with Łukasz A. Jankowski on Radio Wnet.

- 100% no, ladies and gentlemen. This is yet another piece of information that is not only unverified but certainly false. I will definitely not be the campaign manager; that is completely obvious – he continued.

- Someone like Adam Bielan, or others who know how to run an election campaign, could be the campaign manager. I don't know how to do that – added the PiS politician.

- This means that a tactic has been adopted for the election campaign, that it will be better to travel around Warsaw and throughout Poland with a candidate who has no political label and who also doesn't have, and President Jarosław Kaczyński has spoken about this many times, pointing to the candidate's characteristics, that it is a candidate or will be a candidate, if it is him, unburdened by 8 years of governance - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet.

- In the sense that with other candidates like myself, one can always point to some unpopular decisions, because unpopular or even incorrect decisions are always made. There were also incorrect decisions - he continued.

- However, PiS formed three governments during eight years, which we will certainly boast about in this campaign, because we will compare these three governments and the eight-year period of PiS governance with the period of Donald Tusk's government and the coalition of December 13th, which has so far been a mere ten months, but soon it will be over a year, in May next year, a terribly unsuccessful government - Czarnek emphasized.

As he said: - In this sense, we will showcase PiS, but there is also this tactic, and it has been discussed, perhaps a candidate who is not associated with politics at all, but certainly with the right, would be good.

- But of course. I repeat once more. I will be the face of the campaign… I will help every candidate. Every candidate designated by PiS - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet.

- But Mateusz Morawiecki will not be designated because Mateusz Morawiecki, if he were designated, it would mean we are headed straight for defeat in the presidential election. This is because the entire right-wing electorate will not support Mateusz Morawiecki, because Konfederacja and its voters will not support him - he continued.

- The campaign has its own dynamics and temperature, and it can also promote candidates who are not necessarily obvious. We have polls where Szymon Hołownia can achieve 21%, there was such a poll conducted by Civic Coalition (KO). From 21% to 30% is actually very close. I believe that a Rafał Trzaskowski–Szymon Hołownia run-off is highly probable – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Zet.

- We are waiting for the launch of the latest tranche of funds, then it takes some time to launch the programs. Therefore, such subsidies will appear next year, from the KPO. In 2025, such a program [for subsidies for the purchase of electric cars] will appear. We must utilize the KPO funds, also implementing reforms by mid-2026 – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in Radio Zet.

- It's probably not yet a mass means of transport and won't be in Poland yet; this technology certainly needs to become cheaper to be more accessible to the average citizen, but let's recall what this program replaced – the Buda tax. Because previously our predecessors proposed a tax on combustion engine cars, and we replaced the tax on combustion engine cars in the KPO reform program with subsidies for electric vehicles – she added.

- First and foremost, I am very pleased that from January 1st the [energy] prices will not change. This is a very socially important aspect and also a great societal expectation for the adoption of this act – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Zet.

- As the minister responsible for the energy sector, I have always repeated that we must gradually move away from support, especially for households, but by lowering energy prices on the wholesale market, and this is happening – she continued.

- Prices are frozen for 9 months, in order to conduct a review of tariffs mid-year and decide whether further intervention from the state budget is needed – she added.

- Perhaps I will surprise you, but I must begin this meeting with the word "apology." I represent the Polish state here, which for many years has treated you, teachers, people of one of the most important professions in our homeland, in an unworthy manner. I remember a time when, in addition to all the daily worries and troubles that accompany you in your daily work, low earnings, and the prestige of your wonderful profession being questioned by some, an aggressive approach from the state authorities was also added - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ZNP congress.

- I put a lot of effort into ensuring that this government changed, but I represent the state, and it is the Polish state that owes these words "we apologize" for what you experienced during the infamous strike. The authorities' reactions to your demands, your efforts – as a teacher by profession, I know how much it cost you at that time to decide to suspend classes - the head of government continued.

As Tusk said: - What you experienced then was an unforgivable mistake on the part of the authorities. Please accept these apologies in the best possible spirit; they come from the bottom of my heart.

- The teaching profession cannot be paid less than the average wage. For me, this is also obvious; it cannot be this way. I commit to accelerating work on the citizens' initiative. There will be no more delays. We will negotiate certain aspects of this project - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ZNP congress.

- I will do everything to mend what has somehow been falling apart over these years, especially in the context of the drama unfolding around us. But in reality, we must begin the rebuilding of this national unity, this fundamental one, with empathy, sympathy, and respect right at the start of our journey, meaning in school, and I know that no one will do it better than you – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the ZNP congress.

Tusk:

- Yes [I am calm about the primaries]. Yes [it matters to me] - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists.

- No [the primaries did not lead to conflict], but to healthy competition. It's all lively, it has to vibrate - he continued.

- I am in favour, and today I am very calm. Difficult times, so it's hard to be calm, it's a very good school of democracy. I am very proud of both our candidates and I know that things will go well in terms of preparation. But then a very tough fight. Yes, tomorrow we will present the election results, which automatically means a candidate. So, tomorrow at noon, everything will be clear - emphasized the head of government.

Yesterday the District Court for Warsaw-Mokotów announced a ruling issued after yesterday's hearing. A ruling that states the illegality of the prosecution's actions in the form of arresting an opposition MP, which is me, in July of this year. The court definitively stated that an action of an illegal nature occurred [illegal deprivation of liberty] – stated Marcin Romanowski at a press conference.

Illegal deprivation of liberty is a crime. A crime that should be prosecuted ex officio, therefore we must ask the question whether Adam Bodnar has already ordered the initiation of such an investigation, or whether Dariusz Korneluk has already ordered the initiation of such an investigation – he added.

- Poland no longer participates in the procedure stemming from Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union. Now, Poland is subject to ordinary, normal procedures under the EU treaties, which include, among others, reporting and reviewing reports on the rule of law in individual member states, as well as Poland is continuously subject to, and will be subject to, the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which oversees compliance with EU law – stated Adam Bodnar at a press briefing.

- Since some individuals are not appearing before the committee, then the entire state apparatus must be engaged to bring about their appearance, because we cannot have citizens who are in such a situation and are not subject to the authority of the Sejm of the Republic. I hope the Sejm of the Republic will do what it is now obliged to do at this moment. The moment I submitted the motion to lift the immunity, the Sejm must now make a decision in this regard – stated Adam Bodnar at a press briefing.

- I will meet this afternoon with the National Prosecutor, Mr. Korneluk, because he was appointed transparently, in a manner that was not challenged by any independent court, established in accordance with the law. We know what the doubts are concerning the composition of the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Tribunal. Of course, we hope that the problem of the lack of independence of the National Council of the Judiciary, as well as the Constitutional Tribunal, will be resolved – stated Didier Reynders, the EU Commissioner for Justice, at a press briefing.

- I have decided that I will call the presidential election in the Republic of Poland for the earliest possible date, I'm talking about the start of the election campaign. Today, I want to tell you that the campaign will begin in our country on January 8. The first date on which I could have called the election was January 6, which is a holiday - stated Szymon Hołownia in Rypin.

- On January 8, we say: the campaign begins, this process in which candidates will be able to compete and gather signatures - he continued.

- I am determined that we will deal with this bill in such a way that we make a decision next Wednesday, because then we will continue the current Sejm session, and then we will somehow find space for this bill to be on the Sejm's agenda – stated Szymon Hołownia at a meeting with residents.

- If you ask me whether it will be possible to achieve this this year, so that Christmas Eve is a free day, I don't know, I cannot guarantee it, because it is very late. However, I think there is a very high probability that from next year, Christmas Eve will be a public holiday – he continued.

- I will also vote for it, of course, because I believe it makes sense. However, I will push the MPs to make this decision, and ultimately, if they try to go against my will, to obstruct. I also have tools that I can use; I will convene a session for them on Christmas Eve, the 24th, and then we will see how the issue of working on Christmas Eve will be, so to speak, considered at a moment when it directly concerns those who make the law. I am not joking, I will actually do it – he added.

– I believe it's good that this campaign will be longer. In 2020, I ran out of time to convince all the undecided. I think if that campaign had lasted another two or three weeks, I would have won it, even with the apparatus of hate and propaganda, which has hardened me considerably. So it's good [that the presidential campaign starts on January 8th]; there will be time to convince Polish women and men – Rafał Trzaskowski said on Polsat News.

- I'm not sure of victory, but I only have positive emotions because this is a competition within the family; the emotions will only come out when facing the PiS candidate – stated Rafał Trzaskowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- For 8 years, PiS has thrown me against the walls; I participated in the most difficult campaigns of the last decade: two Warsaw campaigns, the presidential campaign, and the 2023 campaign. I simply maintain a cool head. Toughness doesn't mean using very harsh rhetoric. I believe that in diplomacy, one must bite their tongue and say tough things behind closed doors. I think that with today's polarization, if we want to connect with and appeal to the electorate that votes differently, calm rhetoric is more useful, and please don't confuse this with a lack of toughness – he continued.
