At 10:00, a hearing of the Constitutional Tribunal will take place concerning a motion by a group of PiS MPs regarding the preliminary request to bring the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, before the State Tribunal.

At 11:00, a government session will commence. The agenda includes a draft amendment to the act on the delegation of drivers in road transport and a report on preparations for submitting the 2nd and 3rd payment requests within the framework of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Plan.

At 9:30, a press conference will be held by PiS MPs Andrzej Śliwka and Marcin Przydacz, and at 11:00, by PiS MP Zbigniew Bogucki and Dariusz Lasocki.

08:08

Czarnek Announces PiS Congress and Leadership Changes:

A Kind of New Opening.

- We are moving forward after a good spring, and at times even a very good one, after the local and European Parliament elections, and we are preparing for the presidential elections. Hence the [PiS] congress planned for around the end of September. It will probably also be a kind of new opening - stated Przemysław Czarnek in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- It seems that some changes will likely occur. I don't know if now, at this congress, or at next year's electoral one, but there might even be some adjustments in the top leadership already. Of course, I exclude President Kaczyński himself from these adjustments - he continued.

08:22

Czarnek on PiS Candidate:

Perhaps Even the President Doesn't Know Yet.

- You rightly said, Mr. Editor. I don't know, because perhaps even President Kaczyński and the close leadership, who are searching for this candidate, don't know yet. It's not yet time to reveal names, but the names that are appearing on the rumour mill are certainly those that are being very seriously considered - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:35

"I'm Ready": Czarnek for "Honest Work" on a Constitutional Reset

- I am the first in line for this reset. I have always responded to Confederation's proposals in precisely this way. I am ready to work honestly on a constitutional reset, including on changes to the Constitution, which, at certain moments, falters - stated Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:35

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Defense Cooperation:

I Positively Assess the President's and BBN's Actions.
- If not for the normal approach and cooperation today, we would not be able to prepare for the most difficult scenarios. Yes, there is cooperation from the President today, and for that, I am very grateful - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1. - I positively assess the actions of the President and the National Security Bureau, Minister Jacek Siewiera, the entire team [...] there are also generals there, his deputies, it's a good team, where we deliberate together at security committees, we make decisions, it's not just modernization, but it's army management - he continued.

08:43

Kosiniak-Kamysz on military equipment contracts:

We are not acting like our predecessors; I have adopted a completely different philosophy.
- Our strategy is also very important, which we have adopted, regarding not changing or terminating contracts concluded by your predecessors. If we are able to fulfill them, if we are able to continue them, it is only good for Poland's security. What happened when the contract for Caracals was broken by Mr. Macierewicz, to this day we do not have enough multi-role helicopters that we need - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on PR1. - We are not acting like our predecessors in this matter; I have adopted a completely different philosophy. I have adopted the philosophy: what is good, we continue; what is bad, we fix - he continued.

08:49

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Highly Interested in Signing Agreements for Ammunition Production in Poland
- Poland's production capacities for ammunition are insufficient, and I am very interested in signing agreements with public and private entities for the production of ammunition in Poland, for production lines, for everything possible, in order to increase the resources with which the armed forces will be equipped, specifically in ammunition - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on PR1.

08:55

Civic Coalition Unlikely to Oppose Its Own Idea for the National Education Commission, Says Kosiniak-Kamysz
- The establishment of the National Education Commission, which is one of Civic Coalition's 100 concrete proposals, is something Civic Coalition is unlikely to oppose, given their electoral promise, this Kościuszko-esque program of visiting the most important historical sites in Poland [...] I don't have the sense that this is accessible everywhere - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated on PR1.

08:58

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Third Way's Presidential Candidate:

I Would Like it to be Hołownia
- I would like it to be Szymon Hołownia, and we will cooperate on this; we have agreed to such cooperation - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in PR1, when asked who would be the Third Way's presidential candidate.

09:37

Kotula on Coalition Friction:

Internal Disputes Must Be Settled Behind Closed Doors.

- I think that first and foremost, we must lay on the table the idea that we need to sit down together, we need to sit down above divisions. We must settle all these internal disputes, in my assessment, behind closed doors of political offices. This is because we are being watched not only by the opposition in the form of United Right and PiS, and it's better not to give them fodder for this, but also by our voters, individual voters of individual parties within the October 15th coalition, who simply expect effective action from us – stated Katarzyna Kotula in the TVN24 program "Jeden na jeden".

09:38

Kotula Sets Deadline for Registered Partnership Act Completion

- In this plan, when we entered the registered partnership act into the government's work program, the introductory act, we set the last quarter of this year. I am convinced that this act will soon go to the ministries for inter-ministerial consultations, and above all, we will want good cooperation. This is because if we have 234 laws to amend, it means that there will likely be around 200 implementing regulations, which will also be needed – Katarzyna Kotula said on TVN24.

- For me, the most important thing, and this is my main goal and I constantly remember it, is that we must introduce the institution of registered partnership into Polish law. Of course, and I can promise you that, and I am prepared and ready to conduct substantive, reasonable, calm discussions about what the act should look like, which the majority will support – she continued.

09:38

Kotula on the Coalition's Main "Brake"

- As the Left, we state clearly: the separation of church and state is one of our demands, and I know that Poland 2050 also supports this [abolition of the Church Fund]. The Polish People's Party (PSL) is the brake of this coalition, and we need to call things by their names here, whether it concerns registered partnerships, the decriminalization of abortion, or the issue of the Church Fund – stated Katarzyna Kotula on TVN24.

09:38

Kotula on the Presidential Election:

The Left Should Nominate a Female Candidate.
I think there are so many excellent female politicians in the Left that the Left should nominate a candidate, and it's not a matter of gender. It's not that someone should be a presidential candidate just because they are a woman, but because they are a substantive person. I believe the Left absolutely should nominate its female candidate in the first round – emphasized Katarzyna Kotula on TVN24.

10:34

Trzaskowski:

Pumping out water is underway, public transport detours are being organized

- At this moment, an operation is underway in places where it is primarily necessary to pump out water. As we are by the Służewiecki canal, but also in all those places, like on the S7, on other routes, where routes have been flooded and the intervention of the appropriate services is needed. Detours for public transport were organized starting at 4 AM. This is my appeal, which I am reiterating, because since the morning hours we have been directing people to use public transport - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing.

The 'Highway to Advancement' - From Party Headquarters to Management and Supervisory Boards: Sasin on State Treasury Companies' Staffing

- Were competencies supposed to be the deciding factor, not connections and family ties? Yes, and it ended with the father of Ms. Sylwia Spurek, the brother of Mr. Wojciech Olejniczak, and dozens of local government officials from Civic Platform, PSL, and The Left. Were the competitions supposed to be transparent and clear? Yes, and it ended with a highway to advancement - from party headquarters to the management and supervisory boards of State Treasury Companies (SSP) - Jacek Sasin wrote on social media.

- Were savings and modesty supposed to be the aim? To start off, earnings increased more than energy prices under Donald Tusk's government, for example, by 150% at the National Property Resource. When we add to this the deployment of former graduates of Moscow schools who are placed in sensitive and strategically important entities such as defense companies, the picture of the state under the rule of the December 13th Coalition becomes dark and causes serious concern - the former Deputy Prime Minister stated.

11:40

Bogucki:

The Electoral Code Does Not Grant the National Election Commission Authority to Rule on Circumstances Beyond the Election Report
- The proceedings of the National Election Commission (PKW), which has twice postponed the acceptance or rejection of the election report of the Law and Justice Electoral Committee, indicate far-reaching doubts. In law, any doubts should be interpreted in favor of the party concerned; here, I have the impression that the opposite is happening, meaning doubts [...] are to be interpreted, mind you, to the detriment of the electoral committee - said Zbigniew Bogucki at a press conference. - We have a report from an independent auditor. The National Election Commission is appointed to examine the report of an electoral committee; this report has been assessed by an independent auditor as correct and not violating the provisions of the Electoral Code. The Electoral Code does not provide the National Election Commission with investigative instruments or investigative powers, let alone the competence to rule on circumstances other than the election report - he continued. "The only document that the PKW assesses is the election report" - As long as there is no ruling in these matters, which are raised today by the December 13 coalition, but also partly by some media, as long as there is no final decision, the National Election Commission simply cannot assess it, because it has no competence to do so. The only document that the National Election Commission assesses is [...] the election report of the electoral committee - he went on to say. - All these things happening around the electoral committee's report, which do not concern the report itself, are extremely important, are pure, brutal politics intended to eliminate, and certainly to hinder, the political activities of Law and Justice - he added.

12:06

Petru on Healthcare Contribution Changes:

We Are Close to an Agreement.

- We are close to an agreement regarding the reduction of the healthcare contribution with the Ministry of Finance - wrote Ryszard Petru on social media.

As the politician from Trzecia Droga informed: - At this stage, the proposal would only concern entrepreneurs. Employees would be covered by the reduction when the public finance sector deficit falls below 3% of GDP. That is, around 2027.

- This is a reasonable compromise. There will be accusations that high earners will benefit a lot from this reduction. Well, yes, but it was them that Polski Ład (Polish Deal) took the most from! We are returning what was unjustly taken - he noted.

12:45

Kosiniak-Kamysz Doesn't Rule Out WOT Assistance in Warsaw:

The Situation is Under Control.

- The government and the Government Security Centre (RCB), the crisis management teams established in the State Fire Service (PSP), are operating on an ongoing basis. The situation is under control, and we are prepared to provide support with Territorial Defence Force (WOT) units as well, should such a need arise. Today I spoke with President Trzaskowski about assistance for Warsaw. If such support from the WOT is needed, WOT members are ready to provide that assistance. All state services are functioning. I ask for caution, as such heavy rainfall may occur again - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

12:48

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Another KPO Tranche:

Largest EU Funds Transfer to Poland.

- The second and third application will be submitted by September 13th, and we will receive at least PLN 30 billion. This will be the largest transfer of funds from the EU to Poland. Previously, that record belonged to the PLN 27 billion we obtained for the KPO in the spring. Now, at least PLN 30 billion - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

12:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz Announces Coalition Meeting:

One of the important topics is the budget

- Regarding the coalition's agreements, we will certainly be meeting in the coming days. The government is preparing the budget project. The budget must first be submitted, in accordance with the Act on the Social Dialogue Council, to our social partners, to unions and employers, to trade unions and employers. So, one of the important topics is certainly the budget - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

13:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Presidential Election:

Hołownia is prepared to run

- We have long said that Szymon Hołownia is prepared for this run. He would certainly also be a good candidate for the coalition, and that would certainly greatly increase the chances of success for this endeavor, but it is a long debate - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

"The Verdict Can Be Considered Non Existent": Kropiwnicki on the Constitutional Tribunal's Ruling Regarding Glapiński
- The Constitutional Tribunal's ruling in the Glapiński case can be summed up in one sentence: impunity for one's own. The duo of Pawłowicz and Przyłębska will never let down President Kaczyński. Their legal credibility remains the same, below zero. The verdict can be considered non existent – Robert Kropiwnicki wrote on Twitter.

17:53

Confederation Announces Presidential Candidate
- The Council of Leaders has nominated Sławomir Mentzen as the Confederation's candidate for the Presidential elections of the Republic of Poland, which will be held in 2025 - announced the Confederation on its Twitter profile. This means that it is highly unlikely that primary elections will be held, either within the Confederation itself or on the broader right-wing political spectrum, in line with the scenario that Krzysztof Bosak spoke about on August 13th.

19:53

Joński on the Constitutional Tribunal's Ruling Regarding Glapiński:

It Changes Nothing.
- It changes nothing [the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling on Glapiński], Kaczyński's tribunal [...] The CT is Kaczyński's Tribunal, it's not the first time it's trying to save [someone], it tries to pardon in advance, first the prosecutor, now the President of the National Bank of Poland. Why is it doing this? Well, it's doing it because it's the last place of employment for PiS politicians. Soboń is there, the whole PiS entourage is there – Dariusz Joński said on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach." - It doesn't matter what this unconstitutionally elected body is doing right now – he continued.

19:59

Fogiel:

Glapiński is Attacked Because the Ruling Coalition Cannot Bear That He Was Right
- President Glapiński, why is he being attacked? Because the current ruling coalition cannot bear that he was right. [...] What does inflation look like? These are GUS (Central Statistical Office) data: in January 3.7, in February 2.8, in March 2.0, just as President Glapiński predicted, at the beginning of the year we found ourselves within the inflation target. What happened later? The currently ruling coalition raised VAT on food, we warned them, they abolished energy shields, we warned them - Radosław Fogiel said on TVN24. - The facts are these: April inflation 2.4, May inflation 2.5, June inflation 2.6, July inflation 4.2 - he continued.

20:03

Joński:

Upon hearing that Rydzyk might lose money, even Ziobro stood up
- 379 million for Rydzyk, every zloty will be checked. I see this nervousness since yesterday, when we're presenting all these numbers, I see how, when I said this publicly yesterday, upon hearing that Rydzyk might lose this money, might be held accountable, even Mr. Ziobro stood up - said Dariusz Joński on TVN24.

20:09

Przyłębska on the Constitutional Tribunal's Ruling on the NBP President:

Legislation Must Change, It Is Our Duty.
At this moment, yes. Legislation must change. It is our duty, because the Constitutional Tribunal today ruled that the challenged procedure is unconstitutional [regarding bringing the President of the National Bank of Poland before the State Tribunal]. And instead of holding press conferences, questioning, or undermining the Constitutional Tribunal, a draft of a new law should be prepared without issue; after all, the Sejm has enormous legal support - stated Julia Przyłębska on TV Republika.

20:15

Przyłębska:

Which Provision Grants the Right to Question the Status of Judges and Rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal?

- Which provision of the Constitution or statute grants the right to question the status of judges of the Constitutional Tribunal and the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal? There are no such provisions. If we want to change it, but it cannot be the case that we change the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal by statute. There is no such possibility, because the Sejm does not have the authority to change the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal - stated Julia Przyłębska on TV Republika.

20:29

Nowacka Attacks Czarnek:

He Still Doesn't Understand Anything.

- It is with regret that I note that Mr. Czarnek still doesn't understand anything. He allowed children from Ukraine to be outside the Polish school system for 2 years, learning here, or not learning, socializing them, often pathologizing them, and we had no control over what curriculum these children were following, because they were very often learning online. We are including them in the system precisely so that they are safe here, so that they know the language, history, tradition, and culture here, and this does not change our core curriculum – stated Barbara Nowacka on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:29

Nowacka Announces Date for One Religion Lesson in Schools
This year, the change is that firstly, optional subjects, namely religion and ethics, will not be counted towards the average, as this distorts the regulations concerning certificates, and secondly, the possibility of merging groups – stated Barbara Nowacka on Polsat News. - At the moment, the number of hours is not changing. We are saying that if there is a group of 7 in one class and 9 in another, these lessons can be conducted together. This is both more convenient and more economical for schools, but they will have the option to decide, and I think this change will not be particularly painful. However, I intend to introduce one hour of religion lessons from September 1, 2025, which will be paid for by the state. This will mean changes – she emphasized.

20:30

Nowacka on Trzaskowski:

He is an excellent candidate.

- I will absolutely support Rafał Trzaskowski’s candidacy. I believe he is an excellent candidate; I helped him in the 2020 campaign. He is an excellent candidate. Donald Tusk is a truly exceptional figure on our political scene. Anyone who follows Polish politics knows that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is the glue of the October 15 coalition and is precisely where both he wants to be and where we want to see him – stated Barbara Nowacka on Polsat News.
