Szczucki Cites Supreme Audit Office Opinion:

The Government Legislation Centre Was Run Exemplarily by Me.
- I believe that the Government Legislation Centre was run exemplarily by me. I have before me, for example, a report, because there's a lot of talk about the Supreme Audit Office, from 2023, a very thorough inspection, binders of documents, "The Supreme Audit Office, due to the absence of irregularities, does not formulate conclusions or remarks" – every head of a unit would wish to have such an opinion at the end of a thorough inspection by the Supreme Audit Office - said Krzysztof Szczucki in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - We have such a conviction [...] there is enormous political pressure from the ruling camp, who would like to bring about the elimination of Law and Justice from the political scene, and all arguments, all created tools, false, untrue, are permissible from the perspective of the ruling camp to achieve this result - he continued.

Petru on Health Contribution:

We Have a Decision to Lower It, But We Need to Reach a Coalition Agreement.

- The health contribution must be lowered because the Polish Deal raised it so much that many companies were closed, or for many people, this activity ceased to make sense. And I can say this: the contribution will be lowered. Our proposal was for both employees and entrepreneurs to pay a very low flat-rate contribution, meaning regardless of income level. However, within the framework of coalition agreements, we have a decision to lower it, but we need to reach a coalition agreement - stated Ryszard Petru in RMF FM.

08:14

Szczucki:

When I traveled and campaigned, I was on leave and did not involve the Government Legislation Centre in any way
- During the election campaign, when I became a parliamentary candidate, I was on leave whenever I traveled and campaigned, and I did not involve the Government Legislation Centre in this in any way – said Krzysztof Szczucki in Polsat News.

08:15

Petru Announces Meeting with Finance Minister on Health Contribution:

We Must Seek a Compromise Solution.

- Next Thursday, we have a meeting with the Minister of Finance on this matter. Of course, I am aware that we must seek some kind of compromise solution. We will definitely discuss fiscal boundaries. I am aware that we are in an excessive deficit procedure, but still, there was money for "babciowe" [grandparent benefit], there was money for widow's pension, and these are ongoing expenses - stated Ryszard Petru on RMF FM.

08:18

Szczucki:

No one helped me with my campaign in their official capacity or at state expense
- Everyone who helped me with my election campaign, [...] no one helped me in their official capacity or at state expense. Everyone who helped, helped in their free time, during their holidays, regardless of where they worked or what they did - said Krzysztof Szczucki on Polsat News.

08:18

Petru:

We Cannot Remain Stuck in a Post-PiS Economy
We promised a reduction in the [health] contribution, we criticized the Polish Deal, we cannot remain stuck in a post-PiS economy. People must be given a chance to earn more by reducing tax and contribution burdens – stated Ryszard Petru on RMF FM.

08:28

Szczucki on the Commission on Russian Influence:

I Expect the Findings to Exactly Match Tusk's Theses.
- There was a commission, a law was enacted, providing tools, instruments, and guarantees for honest work and analysis of Russian influence. We know that this entire law is currently being thrown in the trash, the commission has been dismissed. Some sort of quasi-commission has been appointed without any guarantees of independence, because it is appointed by politicians based on internal acts, it has no statutory basis. And I expect, of course I wish it were different, but I expect that the findings of this commission will exactly match the theses put forward by Donald Tusk, who is trying to turn things upside down [...] accusing Law and Justice, a party always skeptical of approaching Russia, of being pro-Russian – said Krzysztof Szczucki on Polsat News.

08:34

Szczucki on the Non-Publication of Constitutional Tribunal Rulings:

Completely Unlawful and Criminal.
- I not only don't understand it, but I consider it to be a completely unlawful and criminal action, and it must be stated clearly: this is not a threat, but those individuals who decide to do this risk very serious criminal liability in the future for failing to fulfill their constitutional and statutory obligations. The Constitutional Tribunal issues rulings, and nothing has changed in the legal system to justify their non-publication - said Krzysztof Szczucki on Polsat News.

Government Agenda Changes: Church Fund and Confidential Information on Prisoner Exchange

At the government session commencing at 11:00 AM, in addition to the two previously scheduled draft laws, ministers will hear a report on the work of the Inter-Ministerial Team for the Church Fund for the period of April to June 2024.

Furthermore, the ministers will also receive information from the Minister-Member of the Council of Ministers, Coordinator of the Special Services, concerning the participation of the Republic of Poland in the prisoner exchange between the United States of America and the Russian Federation. The latter point is classified as "confidential".

Budka:

For 8 Years, PiS Was on Doping. They Were Like an Athlete Using Steroids, a Motorized Bicycle, and Trying to Change the Referees
- In my opinion, PiS should lose funding because for 8 years, while they were in power, their political activities were financed illegally from State Treasury companies and public institutions - Borys Budka said in an interview with Mariusz Piekarski on TVP Info's "Gość poranka". - Let me remind you how the Prime Minister's Chancellery was expanded. Let me remind you how people were hired at the Government Legislation Centre… It’s enough to look at the social media of PiS MPs or candidates from the election campaign, how government institutions, State Forests, the Prison Service, for example, organized events attended by Sovereign Poland politicians. How money was pumped into specific electoral districts - he continued. - You really don't need to be Sherlock Holmes here. You just need a bit of common sense, a bit of cool analysis, to conclude that for 8 years, PiS was absolutely illegally on doping, to use a sports metaphor. PiS was like an athlete competing with others, but taking an injection into their vein, simultaneously having a bicycle with a drive, a motor […] and on top of that, they tried to change the referees - he emphasized.

09:26

Siemoniak Responds to Kamiński on Poczobut's Case:

Results Matter, Not Boasting.

- First and foremost, I want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to secure the release of Andrzej Poczobut and other Polish citizens, or individuals working for Poland, who are imprisoned in Poland or Belarus. By the nature of things, we do not disclose details because results matter, not boasting. I have found no evidence that Minister Kamiński was involved in any way with the matter of Poczobut's release. We can say whatever we want, but the truth is, he has not been released. Minister Kamiński can say various things, he can attack our government. The facts are, the PiS government did nothing to secure Andrzej Poczobut's release – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in the program "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24.

- I believe there are grounds to believe that the Belarusian state, in such a matter, a matter that is beyond politics, a matter of absolute morality, will understand that this needs to be taken out of mutual relations issues and simply handed over to Poland – the murderer of a Polish soldier – he emphasized.

09:27

Siemoniak on Pegasus:

It Won't Be Used in Poland, License Revoked.

- This investigation is an absolute priority for the prosecution service; dozens or hundreds of people have been questioned in connection with it, thousands of pages of documents have been analyzed, experts have been consulted, and experts from other special services have been involved. A lot is happening in these cases. However, I understand, and I myself would wish for certain things to happen quickly. Nevertheless, I deeply respect the work of the prosecution service and the fact that it is not aiming to hold a press conference tomorrow with fireworks, but rather to effectively indict someone in court. Let's trust the prosecution service, let's trust Minister Bodnar, Prosecutor Korneluk; they are doing a lot of good work – said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

- Pegasus will definitely not be used in Poland because its license has been revoked. However, operational control, in the interest of our security, must naturally be applied – he added.

09:27

Siemoniak on the Prosecutor's Office's Actions Regarding Romanowski:

A Defeat.

- A defeat, yes, the prosecutor's office had such expert opinions. I believed that, even when Professor Zoll commented, it was absolutely clear. I am convinced that the prosecution is in the right here, but an independent court decides. None of us, none of the politicians, none of the prosecutors, attacked the judge, investigated his family, or any of his other behaviors – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

09:32

Budka:

I Wouldn't Consider the Supreme Court Chamber's Ruling on PiS Subsidies
- We have legally binding rulings from European courts that clearly state this Chamber [of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court] does not have the character of a court. It is a chamber of political appointees of Ziobro and Kaczyński. I have no problem with not recognizing the rulings of a body that is not a court - said Borys Budka in the "Morning Guest" on TVP Info. When asked whether, if this chamber were to reject the National Electoral Commission's decision to revoke PiS's subsidies, the Minister of Finance should not take its ruling into account, Budka replied: - If he asked me for advice, I would tell him exactly that – not to take this pseudo-ruling into consideration. However, I don't envy the minister, because he will have a tough nut to crack if that happens. In my assessment, supported by court rulings, the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court is not a court within the meaning of European law, and therefore it is difficult to take its rulings into account. - If I were the Minister of Finance and had to make such a decision [whether to pay PiS's subsidies or not], I wouldn't look at the ruling of a subject, a body, that is not a court. But I think the minister will be enriched by good legal opinions, he will have appropriate analyses on his side, and he will make the right decision. We are not at that stage yet - he said.

09:54

Budka:

Independent Constitutional Tribunal Should Examine the Full Scope of PiS's Illegal Activities
- After 8 years in power, I maintain that PiS acted like an organized crime group [...]. I'm talking about siphoning money from the state budget, about financing PiS political events, about the entire apparatus that enveloped the state and was organized and illegal in nature. Starting with public media and ending with State Treasury companies and institutions - said Borys Budka in "Gość poranka" on TVP Info. - In my opinion, ultimately, after legal changes, when we also have an independent Constitutional Tribunal [...], this body should also examine the full scope of PiS's illegal activities, with Kaczyński at the forefront - he stated. - I'm talking about investigating whether, in such a case, these 8 years of activity, of preying on state assets, misleading people, and a complete seizure of the state, whether this organization can still operate normally, under normal, democratic conditions. In my opinion, there are all grounds to investigate whether PiS is not an organization that meets democratic standards, looking at the last 8 years - he continued.

12:28

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Raising the Retirement Age:

I'm Not Ruling It Out, But the Economic Incentive is Key.
- I absolutely do not claim that I don't believe in the pension system, on the contrary. I deliberately used this phrasing [Ponzi scheme] to draw attention to the enormous challenge Poland faces, and unfortunately, there's a tendency to bury long-term challenges under the rug and live in very difficult, current times. Meanwhile, we have an enormous challenge, which is a massive demographic crisis, I don't want to say a catastrophe, but a demographic crisis. What this means is that there are fewer and fewer young people entering the labor market, and due to a better quality of life, and this is actually a good thing, that people are living longer in Poland, there are more and more people in the post-productive age – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in Onet Rano. - Today, the facts are that in Poland, the retirement age for women is the lowest in all of Europe. And the difference between women and men exists only in Poland and Romania, and in Poland, it is the largest. These are facts. However, in my opinion, effective policy should proceed here not through coercion, but through incentives. People really do calculate rationally. I have a high opinion of such economic rationality among Poles. I am absolutely not saying [that there will never be a need to raise the retirement age in Poland], I am not ruling it out [raising the retirement age in Poland], yes, but for today, the most important thing is, and it will certainly work, if there is an economic incentive – she continued.

15:34

Kukiz:

I hold a grudge against Solidary Poland for colluding with PO at certain moments

- I won't be entirely objective when it comes to Solidary Poland, because I hold a huge grudge against them for colluding with PO at certain moments, during referendums and concerning the 'judges of peace'. Globally, of course, I knew in Opole region, in my constituency, about the excess of party hacks who had no idea about management whatsoever; they were just our people, hired in SSP as a reward for loyalty and participation in election campaigns - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Dariusz Wieczorkowski on Echo24 television.

15:35

Kukiz:

If Kaczyński Doesn't Yield, They Will Lose the Presidential Election

- If President Kaczyński does not yield before the first round, does not acquire a bit of humility, so to speak, does not ask for a meeting with Mr. Bosak, Mr. Mentzen, with us, somewhere in the corridors with the PSL, and does not present, for example, his three candidates, does not ask the people I mentioned: 'gentlemen, in the second round, which of these three candidates would you vote for, will you support us in the second round if our candidate reaches this round', if President Kaczyński does not establish beforehand, in short, with other leaders of political options in Poland with a worldview close to the center to the right, then they will lose the election - stated Paweł Kukiz on Echo24 television.

- If they lose the presidential election, then Tusk will go one step further and either dissolve parliament or, depending on the situation, simply outlaw Law and Justice - he added.

PiS Submits an Interpellation to the Prime Minister Regarding Earnings in State-Owned Companies:

We Heard It Was Stealing from the State, So Something Must Have Been Done About It.
- This conference, these questions, and many of the things we are raising would not have happened if it weren't for the words, the declarations that were made from one side for 8 years, essentially accusing us, and on the other hand, resonated strongly during the election campaign. To avoid being unsubstantiated, here are a few quotes: "these are huge sums of money for those in power, gained at the expense of Polish families" [...] "we see how every day they are stealing from our homeland", [...] "for anyone who dared to come to me [...] and say they have [...] a friend who is perfectly suited for a State Treasury company, it would be their last day in office" - said Łukasz Schreiber at a press conference. - We are submitting an interpellation addressed to the Prime Minister, as well as to the Minister of State Assets. There are several questions here, we want to find out, it's not even about the amounts, but in how many companies, in which ones, what percentage these salaries were reduced by, because for years, you must admit, we heard that these earnings were exorbitant, shameful, that it was stealing from the state, so surely something has been done about it - he continued.

Błaszczak on Generals' Dismissals: 'It's Revenge Reaching Those Who Supported Breaking Down the Beton in the Ministry of National Defence'
- This [resignation of four generals] is a rematch, or rather revenge, reaching those who stood for breaking down the beton in the Ministry of National Defence. Those old-school generals have returned to advising the leadership of the MND, including General Gocuł, who appeared at rallies with Donald Tusk in a white shirt. [...] And these generals had the courage to oppose the arrangements - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's 'Gość Wydarzeń'. - The second important element is the violation of Poland's credibility in the aspect of our allied activity - he added.

20:05

Błaszczak:

15 Types of Military Equipment Will Be on Display at the August 15th Parade – 12 of Them Were Acquired When PiS Was in Power
- There will be a parade on August 15th, which the then-opposition, now the ruling party, used to call a pompous event. They don't call it that anymore. Equipment will be presented at this parade: 15 types of modern military equipment. Do you know that 12 of these types of equipment were acquired by the Polish Army when PiS was in power, when I was minister? - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:06

Szczucki:

I Filed Two Complaints. In One Case, the Prosecutor's Office Refused to Launch an Investigation

I filed two complaints [with the prosecutor's office regarding the RCL]. Coincidentally, yesterday I received a response to one of them, stating that the prosecutor's office is refusing to launch an investigation. I will, of course, appeal this decision by the prosecutor's office to the court according to procedure. They are refusing, and what's more, it's very interesting... I indicated those who reported the alleged commission of a crime by me – stated Krzysztof Szczucki on TVP Info.

20:20

Błaszczak:

This was the only chance to free Poczobut. Tusk is anti-American and pro-German
- This was the only chance [the latest prisoner exchange between Russia and the West] to free Andrzej Poczobut. There will be no such chance again, it is a lost chance. If we look at German policy, and Donald Tusk is anti-American and pro-German, there will be no such chance - said Mariusz Błaszczak in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:27

Błaszczak on PiS subsidy:

I hope the National Electoral Commission will not yield to pressure from the ruling party.
- I hope the National Electoral Commission (PKW) will not yield to pressure from the ruling party, because they are trying to exert pressure, and will make a decision that is in accordance with the law. And a decision in accordance with the law is this: that as an independent auditor stated, PiS's financial report is in compliance with the regulations, and it is also in compliance with over twenty years of Supreme Court rulings - said Mariusz Błaszczak in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

20:46

Błaszczak does not rule out PiS waiting to announce its presidential candidate:

We are curious about the counter-candidate.
- We will announce [who our presidential candidate is] at the appropriate time, when the decision has been made. I think the decision will be made this autumn. We will see - said Mariusz Błaszczak on Polsat News's “Gość Wydarzeń”. - We are also very interested in who the counter-candidate to the PiS candidate will be. I do not rule out waiting until the ruling coalition settles [who their candidate will be]. Today, many arguments suggest that it will be Donald Tusk - he stated.

New Wind Farms Emerging in the Baltic Sea. Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on RES Investments Funded by the KPO

- Large infrastructure investments are primarily related to the energy transformation; we know how important that is. We need energy self-sufficiency, we need Polish, clean, cheaper energy. Wind farms are being built in the Baltic Sea. From these wind farms, new transmission and distribution networks are needed, plus installation terminals for these wind farms, so that we have our own Polish installation and service terminals. This doesn't have to be completed by 2026, because funds from preferential loans mean investments can be realized after 2026. By '26, we must contract everything – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.
