The Week in Polish Politics: Polish-German Consultations, Tusk at ABW Delegation Opening in Rzeszów, Ziobro Before the Investigative Committee, Committee on Romanowski's Arrest

The upcoming week in politics will be dominated by Polish-German intergovernmental consultations and the planned interrogation of Zbigniew Ziobro by the Pegasus investigative committee – although it remains uncertain if the former minister will appear due to illness. Additionally, a parliamentary committee will address a request for consent to prosecute, detain, and temporarily arrest MP Marcin Romanowski.

Tusk at the Opening of the ABW Delegation in Rzeszów. On Monday morning, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the opening of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) delegation in Rzeszów. The schedule includes a meeting between the Prime Minister and ABW representatives, and a meeting of the head of government and Minister of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak with the media.

Ziobro Before the Investigative Committee. On Monday morning, the former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, Zbigniew Ziobro, is scheduled to be questioned by the Pegasus investigative committee.

Establishment of the Council for Strategic Development Projects. On Monday, at the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will establish the Council for Strategic Development Projects within the National Development Council and will attend the council's first session.

Polish-German Consultations. On Tuesday, Polish-German intergovernmental consultations will take place in Warsaw, chaired by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Visit of the President of Albania. On Tuesday, the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, accompanied by his wife, will pay an official visit to Poland. He will meet with President Andrzej Duda and his wife at the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw.

Committee on Government Bill Regarding Soldiers. On Tuesday, the parliamentary committees on national defense and justice and human rights will review a government bill amending certain laws to improve the actions of the Polish Armed Forces, Police, and Border Guard in case of threats to state security, along with an amendment.

RPP Meeting. On Tuesday and Wednesday, a meeting of the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) will be held, where decisions regarding interest rates will be made – it can be assumed that the council will keep them unchanged.

Committee on Romanowski's Arrest. On Wednesday, the parliamentary committee on rules of procedure, MPs' affairs, and immunities will consider the National Prosecutor's request for consent to prosecute, detain, and temporarily arrest MP Marcin Romanowski.

Duda at the 34th Chojnice Radio-Technical Battalion. On Wednesday, President Andrzej Duda will visit the 34th Chojnice Radio-Technical Battalion. The unit is an important element of the national and allied air and missile defense system.

Senate Session. The upper house of parliament will convene on Thursday for a one-day special session. The agenda includes a speech by Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and speeches by invited guests, as well as the adoption of a resolution on the 35th anniversary of the first session of the reborn Senate.
