08:15

Domański:

Regarding Security, We Clearly Need More European Solidarity
I am responsible for financing a part of it. I will not reveal specific actions here, there is a long list of them, because they will be of various types, border, reinforcements, but also actions for which we will seek funds from our European partners in the EU and EBI. We know that we need a lot of funds to strengthen our border - stated Andrzej Domański in "One on One" on TVN24. What we are saying very clearly - when it comes to security, we clearly need more European solidarity. Poland is currently spending over 4% of its GDP on defense, the most of all NATO countries, definitely the most in terms of GDP share, even more than the USA, and there is no shadow of a doubt that the EU must clearly increase this solidarity when it comes to security and defense spending - added the Minister of Finance.

08:24

Domański:

Inflation to be below 5% by year-end

- We in the Ministry of Finance also believe that inflation at the end of this year will be lower, and perhaps even significantly lower than what we thought half a year ago. Such economic processes are occurring - stated Andrzej Domański on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" program.

- The government has taken many actions to ensure that prices in the second half of this year rise very, very moderately. The example of energy, gas, or heat energy is a very good example. We have adopted an energy voucher, we have adopted partial capping of energy prices. Even at the final stages of parliamentary work, the Senate implemented another solution concerning the so-called capacity fee. All of this is to ensure that inflation in the second half of this year remains clearly under control and that Polish families do not feel the effects of what is happening on the energy markets - he added.

- I think it [inflation] will be below 5% with absolute certainty, and I will only remind you that during the peak of the PiS government, inflation reached 18%. During the PiS government's tenure, cumulative inflation amounted to 50% - said the Minister of Finance.

08:33

Czarnecki:

Many considered Błaszczak for the presidential candidacy
If we had won the parliamentary elections, the candidate would have been obvious. But we didn't win. I think many people then thought about Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, but that's in the past. However, yes, the European elections are generally a struggle for 'pole position,' to use Formula 1 language, when it comes to the presidential elections; whichever party wins the European elections will have a better starting position for the presidential elections. We have several strong candidates, people who have held public office in the past or hold it now, and in my opinion, it will be a very interesting internal, I don't know if it's a rivalry, but we will have a wide selection – stated Ryszard Czarnecki in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' 'Graffiti'.

08:36

Kobosko on the Presidential Bill:

It should be processed as quickly as possible.

- One aspect of the matter is the use of weapons itself. The second aspect is the issue of regulations, which Minister Siewiera spoke about and which – as I understand it – are contained in the bill, the presidential bill, which will be processed at the next Sejm session, starting on June 12th. There can be no talk of any delay, because this project was submitted to the Sejm at the beginning of May, and the Marshal immediately dealt with it. This is a project that describes the functioning of the main, most important bodies of the Polish state in a situation of direct military threat and in a state of war. What was missing was a very clear definition of the division of competencies, and this project would also mean, its introduction, changes in the command system, in the system of directing the Polish Armed Forces, so it's not as if this is a project that doesn't contain controversial elements, but this project will and should be processed as quickly as possible – stated Michał Kobosko in the program "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

08:37

Kobosko:

We Should Go to the Polls and Say 'No' to Putin

- The most important thing for us is to convince voters to go to the polls, so that recent events do not influence them, or prompt them to think that perhaps it's not worth voting, that it has no significance. Well, it has extraordinary significance. I won't repeat that these are the most important elections in Poland's history, etc., because those are sometimes exaggerated arguments. However, it is evident, and I will repeat this here, that Putin and Lukashenka aim to weaken Europe today, including by strengthening those groups in Europe, especially in Western Europe, that want to dismantle Europe from within. Therefore, all of us who believe in a strong Poland, in a strong EU, should go to these elections and clearly say 'no' to Putin and his actions – said Michał Kobosko in PR1.

08:38

Kobosko on the Green Deal:

The Ban on Internal Combustion Engine Car Sales in the EU is Harmful.

- Certain things, certain elements that have been written into the Green Deal, and certain deadlines will have to be extended, and some regulations, such as the controversial ban on new internal combustion engine cars in Europe from 2035, from today's and particularly the Polish perspective, seem completely unnecessary, even harmful – stated Michał Kobosko on PR1.

08:45

Bosak Asked If Bodnar's Actions Are Linked to the Soldier's Death:

There Might Be a Connection, But We Don't Know If There Was One.
- I would like to be responsible for my words, so I believe there might be a connection [between Bodnar's actions and the soldier's death on the border], but we don't know if there was one. We don't know if there was one, however, the sequence of events is quite terrifying. First, we have soldiers who fired warning shots being held accountable, detained, handcuffed, suspended. Then, we have the appointment of a special team of prosecutors tasked with pursuing officers and soldiers for using their weapons and for doing what they should be doing – namely, turning illegal immigrants back towards the border. And then we have a sequence of several soldiers [...] who were injured in various ways - said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Karolina Opolska on "Poranek TVP Info".

08:51

Bosak on the Border Situation:

Sent Were Ordinary Soldiers Trained to Drive Tanks, but Without Tanks.
- These are all neglects that have been ongoing for years. I will give an example. This soldier [...] who died at the border as a result of his injury, he normally belongs to a unit that trains for tank warfare, an armored brigade. However, there they perform foot patrol duty, and at the same time, they are forbidden, as I understand it, from using weapons against illegal immigrants, so in reality, they are forced into hand-to-hand combat with these immigrants, without full equipment [...] they were never trained for this, these are police actions [...]. Sent were ordinary soldiers trained to drive tanks, but without tanks - said Krzysztof Bosak on TVP Info.

09:00

"He is Behaving Exactly Like Kaczyński'. Bosak on Bodnar
- I am surprised by Minister Bodnar's theatrical move, that he will be summoning Prosecutor Janeczek today. If it is true that documents were not passed to him, that this supervision consisted simply of him receiving a piece of paper, 'Mr. Prosecutor, please supervise the investigation', he signed 'I am supervising', after which he received no documents for 1.5 months, if this is true, then it is a scandal, it means we have internal paralysis, enormous chaos in the prosecutor's office, and Minister and Prosecutor Bodnar is currently trying to shift responsibility from himself - said Krzysztof Bosak on TVP Info. - That there is enormous chaos there, that there are unlawful appointments, without statutory basis, that Minister Bodnar, being the Minister of Justice, patches up legal deficiencies with ministerial announcements, we know this, because he has been doing it for half a year. I believe he is not suited for this [...] he is behaving exactly like Jarosław Kaczyński, he prioritizes his will over the law. Without a negotiated and signed law, passed by the Sejm, signed by the President, amending the prosecutor's office, he cannot do a whole range of things that he is doing - he continued.

09:02

Kaczyński Announces Submission of Signatures for a Citizen’s Bill:

We Have a Wave of Price Hikes, PO’s Promises Were False.

- We have a wave of price hikes in Poland, we have VAT on food, all that is connected with the lifting of relief measures, meaning an increase in energy prices, which in turn causes other prices to rise. We also have somewhat different phenomena, such as the reduction of the 14th pension by almost PLN 1000. We have symptoms of what amounts to a lowering of the standard of living and what can be calmly stated as false pre-election promises by PO, its leader, that nothing that has been given would be taken away. One can say: our government is Poland plus, their government is Poland minus, it’s a Poland of taking away, there is no money and there will be none, it’s all coming back – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference in the Sejm.

- We want to actively oppose this, hence this initiative, which finds its conclusion today, its initial conclusion, which is the submission of signatures to the Marshal of the Sejm. At the moment, there are over 140,000 signatures, and they are still continuously arriving – the PiS chairman continued.

09:05

Bosak:

I Don't Rule Out Shooting Aggressors Crossing the Border to Wound Them
- I do not rule out shooting aggressors crossing our border, in a way that would also wound them – said Krzysztof Bosak on TVP Info. - It's up to the soldiers to assess that; a withdrawal can be a tactical move, in order to return with greater strength – he continued, responding to the host's remark that "not at the moment when they are retreating".

09:39

Tusk, Sikorski, Pawlak… Jarubas on the Idea of a Polish Candidate for the Head of the European Commission
- I wouldn't rule out a situation today – we must have high aspirations – where if there's no consensus in Europe at all among the leaders of the member states, because they are the ones who nominate [the candidate for the head of the EC] – the European Parliament theoretically approves, but in essence, the heads of state must agree – Poland should put forward a candidate, not just for the Commissioner for Defence or the Commissioner for Industry, but perhaps for the President of the EC – Adam Jarubas stated on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - We are not talking about it today, but when these real consultations begin, it seems to me that we are not without chances. There are such names in Poland – Prime Minister Tusk, and Radosław Sikorski, but I think also within the ranks of the Peasants' Party – Waldemar Pawlak. These are experienced, proven people, and from this group, they would certainly be serious candidates – he continued. - Probably today's challenges in the country are such that they also require strong leaders, but if there were a situation where Poland could realistically fight for such an important position in Europe today, given the great challenges concerning security, I believe we should strive for it – he assessed.

09:46

Kaczyński:

No Corruption on a Large Scale Occurred
No corruption on a large scale occurred, and as far as I know, I don't think I'm mistaken here. Apart from perhaps two individuals, all the others who participated were not state officials. And the whole matter ended very quickly due to appropriate actions from both the special services and the judiciary – stated Jarosław Kaczyński during the investigative committee on the visa scandal.

10:21

Tusk Announces Prosecutor Janeczek's Dismissal:

Those Deciding Soldiers' Legal Status Must Be Blameless.
- Individuals who decide on the legal status of soldiers must be absolutely blameless and must cooperate well with the Polish state in support of Polish soldiers, the Polish army, at a time when soldiers are defending the Polish border. I have made a decision, at the request of the Minister of Justice, to dismiss Mr. Prosecutor Tomasz Janeczek, Deputy Prosecutor General responsible for the military prosecution service. This dismissal requires the consent of the President; I will send the relevant letter to the President today. We will see the President on Monday, near the border, and I hope that by then I will obtain the President's approval required by law for this change – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement.

10:29

Błaszczak on Tusk's Decision:

The Height of Insolence.

- The height of insolence. It is Tusk, together with Bodnar, Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Tomczyk, who are responsible for the detention and prosecution of soldiers defending the border. The attempt to shift responsibility for what happened onto Prosecutor Janeczek, who was stripped of his powers by the neo-National Prosecutor Korneluk, is a farce. It was Korneluk's spokesperson who stated yesterday that Polish soldiers "endangered the migrants." Apologize to the soldiers and officers! - wrote Mariusz Błaszczak on Twitter.

10:33

Prosecutor Korneluk to Oversee Case, with Personal Involvement of Prosecutor General. Tusk on Detained Soldiers
- I have asked the Minister of Justice for the National Prosecutor to assume direct supervision of further proceedings in the case of the soldiers, so that such an illogical and unjust law does not in any way affect these soldiers, if they have not actually committed a significant offense or crime. And Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk will assume supervision of this case, but also with the personal involvement of the Prosecutor General - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a statement.

10:42

Use of Weapons by Soldiers: Kosiniak-Kamysz Tasked by Tusk to Propose Legal Changes
- Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz has been tasked with preparing proposals for changes to Polish law [...] I will eagerly await Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz's proposals; I am convinced that on Monday, at the government session, the minister will be ready with these proposals. The aim is for the legal regulations to unequivocally support the Polish soldier when they use a weapon in self-defense or in defense of Polish territory or borders. They must have a sense of legal security - Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in a press release. - Until the regulations are changed, we will expect both the prosecution service and the Military Police to act, of course, in accordance with the law, but in a manner that, within the framework of that law, will also serve the Republic of Poland and Polish soldiers - he continued.

10:47

Tusk on the Arrest of Soldiers:

The Principle of Proportionality Seems to Have Been Clearly Violated.
- I've already spoken about the principle of proportionality, and it seems it has been quite clearly violated. Not the regulations themselves, but the way regulations were used in the course of this case, which has so outraged Polish public opinion. Therefore, I am convinced that after this event, both the prosecution and the Military Police or Police will treat matters related to Polish security and the actions of Polish soldiers with a sense of this principle of proportionality – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement.

10:57

Tusk:

I hope everyone draws the right conclusions, and if not, they will lose their positions
- For the entire coming week, I will primarily be consulting in meetings with ordinary soldiers, to clarify expectations regarding changes in the law, legal practices, and so that Polish soldiers can truly fulfill their mission, their sometimes dramatically difficult service, which is the mission of defending the borders, with a feeling of full support from all authorities, without exception. I hope everyone draws the right conclusions, and if not, they will say goodbye to their positions, from the situation we have faced in recent days. I hope these words have reached all those concerned - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

11:17

Kaczyński Before the Visa Scandal Investigative Committee: "I Can Tell You Behind Closed Doors"
- You called the corruption scandal surrounding visas, Minister Wawrzyk, Edgar Kobos: "a small criminal undertaking that was uncovered by accident and a reaction occurred." Could you inform the committee how this small criminal undertaking was uncovered by accident? - Michał Szczerba asked during the investigative committee hearing on the visa scandal, referring to the words of the PiS leader spoken a few days prior in Nidzica. - Behind closed doors, yes - Jarosław Kaczyński replied. - This concerns certain interests of a purely personal nature. [...] There are no matters related to state security here, only simply to privacy - he continued. - This person in question has no family ties with me, or any ties whatsoever - he noted. When pressed whether this person was connected to any PiS politicians, he responded: - I will talk about that, but only if you decide on a period of closed-door proceedings. - This is a person connected to someone I know, but I do not know her personally - added the PiS leader. To the question of whether a corrupt proposal, an alternative to Edgar Kobos, was made to the spouse of an important PiS politician, he answered: - There was no such proposal.

11:29

Morawiecki reacts to Tusk's statement:

It was a disgrace how you treated the soldiers, and today you have stooped to that level. Resign!
- The Republic, Mr. Tusk! You couldn't even bring yourself to say it. The Republic did not learn from you why you concealed information about the detention of border defenders for two months. The Republic did not hear an apology for the soldiers and officers. We did not even hear a mention of the fallen soldier. The Republic did not see the resignation of those truly guilty: the Minister of National Defence and the Minister of Justice. The Republic did not hear that you will dismantle the Bodnar Team that is prosecuting Polish border defenders. It was a disgrace how you treated the soldiers, and today you have stooped to that level. Resign! - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on Twitter.

Motion Filed to Lift Dworczyk's Immunity

Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar today submitted to the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, a motion for the Sejm to grant consent for the prosecution of MP Michał Dworczyk for criminal liability – the National Public Prosecutor's Office announced in a statement.

As reported by the prosecution, during the preparatory proceedings supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, sufficient evidence has been gathered to justify the suspicion that Dworczyk committed the offense of obstructing a criminal proceeding concerning unauthorized access to an email account.

The obstruction is alleged to have involved granting access to his private email account to identified individuals and instructing them to permanently delete emails sent from that account within specified timeframes – the statement read.

11:54

Kaczyński:

The Visa Affair Was a Gigantic Lie. If This Operation Hadn't Happened, the Election Results Would Have Been Different
- A massive campaign was waged, both by the media and by KO politicians, sometimes joined by others, which was intended to suggest that several hundred thousand visas had been sold, that some of those to whom these visas were sold even went through that fence on the Polish-Belarusian border, various sums were even mentioned - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during the investigative committee on the visa affair. - All of this was one, big, gigantic lie that influenced the election results, and therefore these elections were not democratic in character. If this operation had not occurred - I know this based on our poll data - the election results would have been different - he argued. - You are a representative of a party that governs thanks to an impudent, gigantic lie, and what's more, an international one - said the PiS leader, addressing Michał Szczerba.

12:01

Kaczyński’s Argument with Szczerba:

Germany Obviously Interfered in Polish Elections.

- To my I respond: yes, Germany obviously interfered in Polish elections, and in a very far-reaching and incredibly brazen manner – stated Jarosław Kaczyński during the investigative committee regarding the visa scandal.

- That question doesn't exist. Therefore, you have no opportunity to answer a question that was not asked – replied Michał Szczerba.

- How is it that it doesn't exist? I just answered it – stated Jarosław Kaczyński.

- But I have dismissed it – Szczerba replied.

- But you can dismiss it as much as you want, and I will still answer – replied the PiS leader.

Kaczyński on Prosecutor Janeczek: He Was Removed from All Cases as Part of a Criminal Operation to Seize the Prosecutor's Office

- He [Prosecutor Tomasz Janeczek] was, of course, removed from all cases as part of this entire illegal operation to seize the prosecutor's office, I can say a criminal operation to seize the prosecutor's office, and he is of course not responsible for what happened. The new, illegal leadership of the prosecutor's office is responsible for this - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists.

Will Respond to Tusk's Statement. Kolarski Announces Presidential Briefing

- At 3:15 PM in the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will meet with journalists. The President will present his stance on matters concerning Poland's security and will respond to Prime Minister Tusk's statement today - informed presidential minister Wojciech Kolarski.

13:38

He Assured That His Country Wants Good Relations with Poland," Sikorski on the Belarusian Diplomat’s Reaction to the Protest Note
- The Chargé d’affaires of the Belarusian embassy was summoned, and yesterday in the early evening, a very firm protest note was handed to him. It was an attack from Belarusian territory on the Polish border, in which a Polish soldier was wounded using methods taught to these hooligans and bandits by Belarusian state officials - Radosław Sikorski said at a press conference in Gdańsk. - These are not some random scuffles. This is a planned operation to which these individuals are being deployed. What happened was not an accident, but a result. It was a murder. Therefore, we demand that the Belarusian authorities identify and hand over this murderer to us - he emphasized. - In response to our note, the Chargé d’affaires assured that Belarus wants to have good relations with the Republic of Poland. It is difficult to believe this, because the actions of the Belarusian authorities unfortunately contradict these words - he added.

New PiS Spot References The Matrix:

Open Your Eyes, Say 'Yes' to Poland

- I speak to you from outside the system. To all Poles. To you, and to you, the residents of Jagodno, who instead of a tram, received gnomes. Even to you. Poland is your, our country. Poland should climb upwards, develop; so little is needed. If only the new government of Civic Platform, Third Way, and The Left didn't hold us back. Construction must begin on CPK [Central Communication Port], grain terminals, important economic projects. They cannot delay the construction of a nuclear power plant. We could live more freely, were it not for the increases in prices of food, gas, and electricity. We could develop new technologies, if the ruling coalition hadn't halted the construction of a quantum computer in Poznań. And we could feel safer, if they hadn't allowed the migration pact and weren't closing our soldiers guarding the Polish border. Open your eyes, say 'Yes' to Poland - says the narrator in the new PiS clip, published on social media.

15:28

Duda:

Tusk's Circle Attacked Soldiers and Officers Since 2021. A Sudden Turnaround.

- I must say this: we all remember very well that it was none other than the political circle of Prime Minister Tusk, who since 2021, ever since Polish officers began defending the Polish border, for two years incessantly attacked soldiers and officers, insulting them, humiliating them, and in fact, also the Polish uniform and the honor of Polish soldiers and officers. I protested against this many times. Insults and offensive words were directed at Polish officers, vile accusations. Now, suddenly, recently, there has been a drastic turnaround in the behavior of this part of the political scene. Border defense, Operation Tarcza Wschód (Eastern Shield), sudden trips to the border, supporting soldiers. I must say that this sudden turnaround caused me some surprise. I even said once that evidently, the point of view depends on the point of seating; now that they hold responsibility in their hands, they must somehow fulfill their duty, protect the border. Prime Minister Tusk has changed his mind about border protection. Here we see the effects of that - stated President Andrzej Duda during a press briefing.

15:32

Why Was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Not Informed About Such an Important Matter? Duda Questions Tusk
- Unfortunately, neither the Chancellery of the President of the Republic nor I personally were informed about this [actions of the Military Police and prosecution against soldiers]. I have a fundamental question, I already asked it yesterday: why was the commander-in-chief of the armed forces not informed about such an important matter concerning a Polish soldier, concerning the actions of Polish soldiers in the sphere of the Republic of Poland's security, concerning the Polish uniform? This is my question to the Prime Minister, because I have contacted the Prime Minister several times in recent months and on no occasion was this matter put on the agenda of our discussions by him - said President Andrzej Duda in a statement. - Could it be, ladies and gentlemen, that the Prime Minister was aware that certain events occurred on our border in March, that the Military Police took certain actions against Polish soldiers, that the prosecution also took actions against Polish soldiers, and that this intensification was intended to demonstrate his interest in these matters, to show that he is rising to the occasion to protect the security of Poland and Poles. Why? In view of, unfortunately, the ongoing and now concluding election campaign - he continued.

15:34

Duda Hints at Decision on Janeczek, Points to Tusk's Responsibility

- I expect an explanation in this matter, because Mr. Janeczek's dismissal requires the consent of the President of the Republic of Poland. If the President's consent is to be given, it must be a justified decision. Today, in my opinion, there is a complete lack of justification for the decision to dismiss this particular Polish state official, this prosecutor, in this case. I want to emphasize this with all my might. Please stop playing this matter out politically in the final hours of the election campaign. This matter requires a calm and detailed explanation. Please do not look for scapegoats at this time, do not shift responsibility. The Prime Minister and his associates are in fact responsible for this matter – stated President Andrzej Duda during a press briefing.

Kaczyński Honors Slain Soldier

PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, along with other PiS politicians, lit candles at the Military Institute of Medicine to commemorate the soldier killed by a migrant.

16:10

Morawiecki:

Let's Not Fall for Tusk's Disinformation Campaign

- Mr. President Andrzej Duda - thank you for the words spoken in today's statement. Let's not fall for Donald Tusk's disinformation campaign - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on Twitter.

17:57

Tusk appeals to voters:

Show them on Sunday once again that you've had enough of them.
- Death, migrants, war, pandemic – they looked for "political gold" everywhere, for personal and party gain. PiS, the president, Morawiecki, Ziobro. And they are still trying the same thing. They are counting on short memories and impunity. Shameless. Show them on Sunday once again that you've had enough of them – Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

18:55

Kaczyński:

If things were as they were under our government, it's highly probable this soldier would be alive
- If it were different, if it were as it was not long ago, under our government, it's really highly probable that this soldier would be alive. Because he wouldn't have had any reservations about reaching for his weapon, because the weapon was used many times, people were never shot at, but it was used to deter [...] shots were fired many times - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

19:03

Kaczyński on Border Defense:

If actions that can be described as sabotage are taken, then something very bad is happening.
- There is no matter more important for a state than security. There is no matter more important than defending its borders. If, in such a matter, actions are taken that can be described not only as harmful, but simply as sabotage, then it means something very, very bad is happening - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

19:13

Energy Prices, Poland's Development, Road Accident Fatalities: Kaczyński on the Current Government's "Doom"
- It was supposed to be better, more beautiful, richer. One could say it's the exact opposite. That in all areas, starting with prices, for instance energy prices, which are expected to be significantly increased, through all sorts of actions aimed at taking away our development opportunities [...] for finally catching up with Western Europe, through actions in virtually all spheres, the sphere of law, the sphere pertaining to the extremely important matter of culture - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow. - It's even to the point that the number of people who have died on the roads in the recent period has very clearly increased. The question is whether this is some kind of doom hanging over Poland today, or if it's simply this government, or rather, that this government *is* this doom. This government is disastrous in every respect, this government that is implementing an agenda completely alien to Poland and that constantly lies. It lies, it lies, and it lies again on every matter - he continued.

19:28

Kaczyński on the Migration Pact:

Transfer of Illegal Immigrants from the West to Poland Has Already Begun.
- It's about immigration, it's about the forced transfer of illegal immigrants to Poland. We already know today, these last few days have seemed to significantly broaden our knowledge, that this transfer from the West has already begun and I would like you to know that it's not just people being turned back, those who were in Poland and then made their way to Germany from Poland. These are also people from other countries, such as the Netherlands. This is already the mechanism that has been announced to us, which was supposed to not exist, which was not supposed to concern us, which was supposed to be protested, and when it wasn't protested, because it was possible to do so effectively in December, people started saying, and in fact, the current prime minister started saying, that we would actually be beneficiaries of everything that happens - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow. - What those benefits are, is already known near the western border. Apparently, the first rapes have already occurred. And there will be more such benefits, incomparably more, if our society, our nation, does not say a very resolute "no." Everything that is happening in Poland today must be met with a "no" - he continued.

19:43

Kaczyński:

I Ask About the Limit of Lies. Soon We'll Learn Poland Attacked Germany in '39
- This great incitement is also ongoing, I don't like this word, perhaps I'm using it for the first time, the other side used to talk about a cesspool of hatred when they were being told the truth. But when I hear that Law and Justice is a party of people that has continuously transferred billions, I emphasize, billions of zlotys from public funds into private accounts, I ask myself, where is the limit of lies? Where is the limit of lies? - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow. - What else can be said? Soon we will learn that it was Poland that attacked unfortunate Germany, ruled by the good Hitler in '39, and attacked in order to murder Jews. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is heading in that direction - he continued.

19:53

Hołownia:

The Third Way Did Not Suspend its Campaign Because the Stakes of These Elections Are Immense
- We [did not consider suspending the campaign due to the soldier's death]. We in Polska 2050, the Third Way, believe that everything must be done to ensure such deaths do not happen again, and the tools for this are in the hands of politicians. However, a tool that can help politicians take responsibility for improving this world is the election campaign before the elections - said Szymon Hołownia in an interview with Dariusz Ociepa in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - I am not commenting on Lewica's decision because it is their autonomous choice. Evidently, they believe it was the right thing to do. […] However, I say very clearly: the stakes of these elections are immense. Either Monday will be sunnier, or more brown. Today, we cannot shy away from this responsibility - he continued.

19:55

Kaczyński on Elections:

We Must Ensure They Don't Cheat.
- We must ensure that they don't cheat, that's also very important, because our opponents are capable of anything, and then this current, sad period will pass - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

19:59

Hołownia on Soldier Detentions: I Trust Kosiniak-Kamysz. I Expect Personal Consequences
- I trust Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, who is currently conducting a very thorough audit of this entire situation that took place [the detention of soldiers]. I expect – as I spoke with him today – that he will also draw personal consequences for those who were unable to bear this responsibility – said Szymon Hołownia in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - Towards individuals who have erred and led to the fact that the flow of information was not as it should have been in such a situation. I don't know [who erred], the audit will show that – he continued.

Kaczyński:

If the events of December 13 and October 15 are just an incident, it can be said they brought certain benefits
- Truly, if what happened on December 13, and before that on October 15, turns out to be just an incident, then it can be said that it even brought certain benefits, because many Poles will realize what it's really like. Who is telling the truth, and who is lying, who knows how to govern in Poland's interest, and who, first of all, doesn't know how to govern at all, and secondly, even if they did, they would still act in a foreign, non-Polish interest - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

Hołownia:

The Last Thing Voters Expect is Politicians Bashing Each Other Over Someone's Death on the Campaign Trail
- I must say clearly today that the state, in situations like this, should act calmly, firmly, and decisively. […] This is not a topic for politicians, at the final stretch of the election campaign, to hit each other over the head with the subject of someone's death or someone's drama that took place at the border. Because that is the last thing voters expect from us either. They expect calmness and a functioning state – said Szymon Hołownia in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

Budka Criticizes Trzaskowski:

An Unnecessary Decision.

- Of course [it was a political mistake]. I am not one to review President Trzaskowski's actions, but I believe one must have a somewhat broader perspective on Polish reality. A secular state is enshrined in the Constitution, but there are sensitive matters. I am a strong advocate for religion not being graded on report cards, and for parents to be able to decide if their children want to learn religion after school hours. However, religious matters hold great significance for many Poles. This is a substitute topic that fuels the other side, and fortunately, no actions followed. Today, the Catholic Church, allied with PiS, is harming itself the most. Unfortunately, in recent years, this has led to a mass exodus of children from religion classes, but politicians shouldn't interfere with this, and I am surprised by this... Absolutely unnecessary decision by Rafał Trzaskowski - stated Borys Budka on TVP Info.

Budka:

Janeczek's Resignation Could Have Happened Sooner

- We need to act more efficiently, because as we can see from the General Prosecutor's Office, the individuals who remained there, I'm thinking here of the former prosecutor Janeczek, unfortunately, are not suited for this job, and it's very good that this resignation has occurred. I would like to remind you that this is a person who has made a very bad mark on the history of the Polish prosecutor's office. I think this resignation could have happened sooner - stated Borys Budka on TVP Info.

Hołownia:

I Expect a Result Between 10 and 14%
- Between 10 and 14-15 [percent], with the hope that it will be closer to 14 - said Szymon Hołownia in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News, when asked what result he expects for Trzecia Droga. - Please remember that voter turnout will decide the outcome of these elections - he added.
