Schetyna on the Future of Sovereign Poland:

The Worst Possible.
- No future, the worst possible future. A very serious process of pathological law-breaking, of using politics for party, private, electoral interests - said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24, when asked by Konrad Piasecki about what future awaits Sovereign Poland. - Furthermore, doing this with the Fund for Victims of Crime, which is meant to serve crime victims. Shameful, compromising, unlawful, and with enormous consequences for the people who did it - he added.

08:06

Schetyna:

PKW will have a lot of work to properly verify PiS's campaign financing
- The issue of the Fundusz Sprawiedliwości (Justice Fund), what has been done over the years, is not just a problem for Sovereign Poland politicians today, or for that party itself, but also for PiS. I look at this through the lens of money spent on election campaigns, subsidies, and accounting, which PiS carried out anyway, because Sovereign Poland politicians ran on their lists. Meanwhile, campaign financing, as we hear and see, was unlawful. I believe that the PKW (National Electoral Commission) will have a lot of work to do to thoroughly check this - said Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:08

Tomczyk:

The Soldier's Condition is Critical, He is Fighting for His Health and Life

- Regarding the health of the soldier [stabbed at the border], the soldier's condition is critical; he is fighting for his health and life today. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for him - stated Cezary Tomczyk in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

08:13

Tomczyk Provides Statistics:

The Situation at the Border is Very Heated

- The situation is simply very heated. 300-400 attempts at illegal border crossings per day + dozens of attacks on soldiers and the Border Guard every day. Additional forces have been deployed there; today, we have 6,000 soldiers and 1,500 border guards and police officers at the Republic of Poland's border - stated Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

08:28

Schetyna:

Giertych is a guarantor for repentant individuals like Mraz, providing them legal security
- I think Roman Giertych is a guarantor for these repentant politicians, or financiers like Mr. Mraz here – a guarantor that he provides them with legal security – said Grzegorz Schetyna in "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24. - If Giertych gets involved in this case, if he sits next to the said witness who informs and reveals all these pathological things, then it seems to me that this system is in order. It is important that all those who want to speak about criminal procedures, about all the bad things that happened, have a guarantee of their own safety. Because then they will be able to say more – he continued. - Everything that is important for the case, Mr. Mraz already told the prosecutor's office. That is why I see this as a further step towards publicizing these matters, towards conveying these shocking truths to the public opinion – he added.

08:29

Biedroń:

The ongoing pushbacks at the border are one of this government's failures
We as The Left will support all actions aimed at border security. We must have certainty and conviction that the government is doing everything to protect us (...) If there are situations where a pregnant woman is repeatedly pushed back to the other side, where a person with broken legs is pushed back to the Belarusian side without providing these people with assistance, then this is not the standard we fought for (...) The fact that pushbacks are still occurring at the border is one of this government's failures that must be urgently addressed - stated Robert Biedroń on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

08:32

Szydło on What She Achieved for People in the European Parliament:

While Some Were Dealing with Chargers, I Was Defending Jobs in Poland.
"While some were dealing with chargers, I was defending jobs in Poland. The Industrial Strategy, which I worked on, managed to introduce changes that will not burden Polish industry with excessive costs, and this means that jobs will be defended," said Beata Szydło in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM, when asked what she had achieved for people during her work in the European Parliament.

08:33

Tomczyk:

Ochojska Lacks the Knowledge Possessed by the Border Guard or the Army

- MP Ochojska simply does not have the knowledge that the Border Guard or the army possesses today. It often happens that the videos appearing on the internet are just fragments intended as a provocation towards Polish society, and also towards Polish media, to show that someone is being wronged at the border - stated Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

08:34

Biedroń:

Committees Have Become a Spectacle Few Want to Buy a Ticket For

- Committees have turned out to be a spectacle that very few people today want to buy a ticket for to watch. There are so many of them that citizens have lost count of how many there are, what's happening in them, and what they're all about. I believe in well-organized state institutions. That's why we have the prosecution service, that's why we have courts, so that in a normal state they do normal work - stated Robert Biedroń in the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News.

08:37

Tomczyk:

Trzaskowski is the Best Presidential Candidate

- Rafał Trzaskowski is the best presidential candidate because Donald Tusk has clearly stated that he does not intend to run - stated Cezary Tomczyk on Radio Zet.

08:38

Biedroń:

The Prime Minister Ultimately Decided the Shape of the Minimum Wage

The Prime Minister ultimately decided the shape of the minimum wage. I am aware of the declaration by Minister Dziemianowicz-Bąk, who is advocating for people to earn more in Poland, because today Polish women and men work the most alongside Greeks in Europe, yet have some of the lowest wages – stated Robert Biedroń on the Polsat News program "Graffiti".

08:38

Szydło:

PiS Secured the Border, PO Was Against It. Tusk is Trying to Reverse the Situation, While Security Should Be Above Political Dispute
- Law and Justice secured the border, we were for it, the Civic Platform and Donald Tusk himself criticized it, they were against it, they voted against it in the Polish parliament, and now it's an election campaign and indeed Donald Tusk is trying to reverse the situation, but undoubtedly security should be above political dispute, if these words of Donald Tusk become a reality and the border is guarded and, above all, the army and the Border Guard are respected [...] then it must be accepted - said Beata Szydło on RMF FM.

08:43

Biedroń:

Sovereign Poland Politicians Formed a Quasi-Mafia Syndicate; This is Grounds for Delegalization

- This octopus had many tentacles, Mr. Woś is not the only element of this organized criminal group's syndicate, which was siphoning money meant for the most needy, accident victims, and victims of violence and rape. People watching this program today are wondering how 33 million zlotys could be spent on Pegasus, to spy on journalists, opposition politicians, and spent on pots and other things - stated Robert Biedroń on the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News.

- Today it is clear and evident that the politicians of Sovereign Poland have likely formed a quasi-mafia syndicate, and this is grounds for delegalizing Sovereign Poland - he added.

08:47

Szydło on Romanowski's Words: The Bigger Problem is the Attempt to Destroy the Fund for Assistance to the Imprisoned
- Such words certainly should not have been uttered [...]. It is already a matter of how Mr. Romanowski behaves, but for me, the bigger problem at the moment is that the system of the Fund for Assistance to the Imprisoned, which was a good solution, is under attack - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM. - I have no intention of excusing Mr. Romanowski, but if such words were spoken, he should indeed apologize, there is no doubt about that, however, the bigger problem is the attempt to destroy the Fund for Assistance to the Imprisoned, which serves people - she continued.

09:33

Tusk to Soldiers: We Are With You and On Your Side

- We are with you and on your side, so there are no doubts, so that no one in Poland or outside Poland has any doubts that we are all united on this matter and there will be no question of the slightest tolerance or hesitation when it comes to supporting our soldiers and officers in carrying out this difficult duty, which is the protection of our border - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

09:35

Tusk:

We made a joint decision to deploy all resources to ensure your service is safe

- Today, we made a joint decision with the military command, the Border Guard, and the Police, to deploy all resources concerning logistics, equipment, and also legal measures, so that your service is safe from the state's perspective, from your perspective, and effective in terms of your goal, which is border protection – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

09:41

Tusk:

We are dealing with an organized, highly efficient operation to breach Poland's border
- We are dealing with an organized, highly efficient, multi-level operation to breach Poland's border and destabilize the state. That is why I want you to know that none of us have any doubts about the nature of this action and that this increasing aggression is not accidental - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

09:45

Tusk:

We Will Decide on Reinstating a 200-Meter Buffer Zone at the Belarusian Border

- Today, those who serve here with you daily recommended that we reinstate the buffer zone in this 200-meter strip as quickly as possible, where it is necessary from the perspective of Polish state services at the border. Together with the Minister of National Defence and the Minister of the Interior and Administration, we will make such a decision - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

10:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Situation at the Polish-Belarusian Border:

An Organized Action Against Poland.

- We are dealing with another episode of an extremely brutal hybrid war, a bandit attack on a Polish soldier. What happened yesterday at dawn attests to an organized action against the Polish state, against the security of those who protect our border, who ensure our safety. And as the Prime Minister said, you have full support in all actions you undertake, full support not only from the entire government but, speaking here, we are likely expressing the opinion of the entire society, all of us who place great hope and trust in us and primarily in you, and thank you for what you do every day, thank you to your families – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

10:15

More Soldiers Deployed to the Border - Kosiniak-Kamysz Assures Full Support

- Yesterday, by the decision of General Sokołowski, the Commander of the General Branches of the Armed Forces, additional platoons were dispatched from the most experienced units. The most experienced commandos from the 6th Airborne Brigade, from the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, are already here. Additional equipment has been deployed; you can count on everything available in the resources of the Polish Army, the Polish military, we will deploy it – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

10:22

Morawiecki:

Commission to Clarify the PO's Visa Lie

- I have named this commission the Commission to Clarify the PO's Visa Lie. You probably remember September, October, just as well as I do. There was talk then of several hundred thousand visas. Now we are dealing with a small number of visas detected by the services of my government. There was also talk of visa stalls, and you, Mr. Chairman, also admitted at that commission that there were no stalls – stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the parliamentary committee investigating the visa scandal.

10:23

Mastalerek on Szydło's Support for Kurski with a Nausea Emoji: "Disgusting"

The presidential minister comments on Twitter about Beata Szydło's support for Jacek Kurski in the European elections.

10:28

Morawiecki to Szczerba: You Wrote to Jabłoński Requesting People Be Brought in, Even from St. Petersburg

- Poland.Business Harbour. Do you know who was one of the initiators and godfathers of this program? Perhaps some of you will be surprised, but it was the Chairman [Szczerba]. At a meeting in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, to which I invited representatives of Civic Platform, the Chairman [Szczerba] was present. We spoke in September, I have quotes from that meeting. At that meeting in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, we discussed the mechanisms that were later implemented and materialized in the form of Poland Business Harbour. I see nothing wrong with that, Mr. Chairman, you were simply working hand in hand with the then-rulers, that is, with us, and today, unfortunately, it is different – stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the parliamentary inquiry committee into the visa scandal.

- You wrote to Minister Jabłoński requesting people be brought in, even from St. Petersburg. So, these were actions that I truly understand, because they mostly concerned Belarusians, and we don't know if only Belarusians, because we don't know exactly who you were referring to; at least I don't know, but you cannot cynically exploit this situation today for political gain, in a way that reverses the vectors by 180 degrees – he continued.

10:30

Leszczyna 'Very Actively Worked to Attract People to Poland' - Morawiecki Presents Statement

- Minister Leszczyna very actively worked to attract people to Poland. I have her statement here, eliminating barriers to employing foreigners. She applied for the elimination of barriers to employing foreigners. Similarly, MP Maliszewski from the current ruling coalition, an MP from PSL, applied to attract people from countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, as well as from several African countries - stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the investigative committee concerning the visa scandal.

10:34

Morawiecki to PO: The French Prime Minister Betrayed You

- The French Prime Minister betrayed you. Prime Minister Tusk tried to puff up his feathers, presenting himself as a defender of the border against illegal immigration. Meanwhile, six days after the government was formed, the first approval of the Migration Pact occurred, and in April, the final approval of the Migration Pact, which will result in tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of immigrants flowing into the country - stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the investigative committee regarding the visa scandal.

10:53

Brudziński on Tusk’s Stance on the Border Situation:

Conversion to Political Realism.

- This is a kind of miracle of conversion to political realism and security for the Prime Minister himself, and his acolytes surrounding him, because today we are learning that nobody applauded, including Mr. Kierwiński, the film by Agnieszka Holland. They did not support all those stars and celebrities – stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy".

10:53

Brudziński on the Justice Fund:

This Scandal is a Dud

- Don't let them cloud your judgment. Sir, in the previous campaign, we dealt with a huge scandal, it was the visa affair. Hundreds, thousands of visas allegedly sold at stalls in African countries – what do we have today? A dud. So ladies and gentlemen, this affair [of the Justice Fund] will be just the same dud. A certain narrative is being pushed a week before the elections, no one formally, the prosecutor's office is not bringing charges – said Joachim Brudziński on Radio Plus.

- In a moment, it will turn out that once everything is squeezed out, the only accusation will be that these fire trucks or other equipment, or other means for saving lives, or also for supporting victims of crime, ever ended up anywhere – he added.

10:56

Bodnar on the Justice Fund:

Day by Day, We Will Learn More Effects of the Prosecutor's Work.
- We are doing everything in our power to clarify various irregularities concerning the expenditure of funds from the Justice Fund. We are analyzing the concluded agreements one by one, a decision was made some time ago to suspend payments to certain entities [...] we have also revealed a whole set of agreements regarding the promotion of the Justice Fund, including agreements that were concluded with media entities, and finally, we are also presenting information regarding how funds from the Justice Fund reached electoral districts with which politicians from Suwerenna Polska were associated, from which they ran, i.e., individuals who were de facto responsible for managing the Justice Fund. In our opinion, this information is significant from the perspective of what the National Electoral Commission deals with on a daily basis - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference. - Another part of this investigation [...] is what is happening in the prosecutor's office. Investigative Team No. 2, which has been appointed to clarify all circumstances related to the operation of the Justice Fund, is working intensively. This team is facing truly gigantic investigative work, and I think that day by day we will learn more effects of the work of Investigative Team No. 2 and the prosecutor's office in general on this matter - he continued. - Other state bodies are interested in the Justice Fund, such as the Supreme Audit Office. The National Revenue Administration and the Chief [General] Inspector of Financial Information are also interested in it - he further stated.

11:11

Ministry of Justice Presents Changes to the Justice Fund and Announces New Competition
- First, a change in the law. In our assessment, the Justice Fund has been operating since 2017 [...] based on regulations that need to be changed, and some need to be repealed. It is enough to mention the principle that guided the creation of the fund in its new form in 2012. The justification for this act states that the fund's financial resources are to be awarded based on a submitted project, not political considerations. I would very much like us to return to these roots, which is why we have initiated legislative work aimed at removing paragraph 11 of the regulation, i.e., the paragraph that allows and has allowed in the past for funds to be allocated to public finance sector entities by the minister without appointing a commission, without any criteria, through a non-competitive procedure [...] - said Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz at a press conference. - We want to specify the content of the competition announcement, the content of the offers, clarify the rules for appointing the competition committee, and also introduce new transparency rules, so that all of you can familiarize yourselves with the offers that will win and the amounts that will be awarded to them. Changes will also occur within the Ministry of Justice itself; we have decided to merge two departments. The new department will be named the Department of Funds and Free Legal Aid, and Director Piotr Krasiński will head this department. We see no need to treat the Justice Fund differently. We want to draw on the knowledge and experience of people who, to date, have managed funds from Norwegian and European funds within the Ministry of Justice - she continued. - Last but not least, a new competition [...] we are announcing a new competition today with new rules [...]. I have the pleasure to symbolically announce [...] the subject of this competition. It will be child assistance centers. Child assistance centers, meaning interdisciplinary, comprehensive, one-stop shops for children who are victims of crime. Children will be able to come there, receive help from a doctor, therapist, social worker, and be interviewed in a child-friendly interview room - she further stated.

11:19

Motion Filed with PKW to Examine PiS's Financial Report. Bodnar Makes a Clear Declaration
- Yes, definitely, I can make such a declaration that this map will be used to file a formal notification with the National Electoral Commission - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference, when asked if he would approach the PKW to examine PiS's financial report as an electoral committee in the context of an interactive map published by the Ministry of Justice.

11:41

Morawiecki:

I expect an apology from Romanowski or a clear statement that the words spoken were falsified

- I expect an apology from Mr. Romanowski or a very clear statement that the words spoken were falsified, untrue, manipulated. This issue, the issue of the Justice Fund tape, is a typical tactic by Civic Platform (PO). I do not intend to play into Mr. Tusk's scenario. Now we are focusing on the elections - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

11:51

Morawiecki to PO: It was during your governments that you sought places for illegal refugees on Merkel's orders

- It was during your previous governments that you sought places for illegal refugees on Mrs. Merkel's orders. I will remind you of this, because there are documents that confirm it. This is a fact, a certainty. I am in possession of such documents, such a document, which PO sent to all voivodes - stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the sitting of the investigative committee on the visa scandal.

11:56

Jabłoński Shows Messages Szczerba Allegedly Sent Him:

I'm on the witness list, but he's afraid to question me. Now you know why.
- Mr. Szczerba has stated something untrue, because I am summoned as a witness [...] but throughout this time, Szczerba, the honorable chairman, has not set a date for my hearing. He most likely hasn't done so because he fears what I might say. That is why, and here I must reveal certain facts about the honorable member as well, he himself, during the time I was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs [...] repeatedly approached me with various interventions regarding visa and consular matters, and sought facilitate the employment of foreigners in Poland. I intended to reveal these facts during yesterday's hearing. That is probably why he fled - said Paweł Jabłoński in an interview with Polsat News.

- I have several materials, these are messages that Mr. Szczerba sent to me in 2020, 2021 [...] it concerned individuals from the territory of Belarus and Russia, and Mr. Szczerba indicated at the time that these were people who had various political reasons to come to Poland [...]. I have no complaints against him for acting that way back then, because I suspect he had good intentions. But today he exhibits extreme cynicism, because he accuses us of having various fully legal visa procedures and employment of foreign workers, for which he himself lobbied, and for which there is also evidence. Today, he cynically levels these accusations against Law and Justice, while he himself undertook such actions and, in reality, should probably be excluded from this commission because a certain conflict of interest exists - he continued.

- "Thank you for helping Petersburg Belarusians," he writes about another person, that he is intervening regarding granting him a visa at the border. [...] If he was involved in such activities, again, I'm not saying it was something wrong, but since they claim that, Civic Platform, a person who engaged in such activities, should also, I think, be primarily questioned before this commission, not ask questions in it and act as a prosecutor - he went on to say.

- I hope he will behave honorably and, for the sake of clarity, to avoid this conflict of interest, he will exclude himself from this commission today [...] I am on the witness list, but Mr. Szczerba is afraid to question me. Today, you all know why - he added.

12:28

Kwaśniewski on the Situation at the Polish-Belarusian Border:

I Appreciate the Prime Minister and Government's Actions.
- There is a risk that this border will be used for such hybrid actions to ferry migrants, because it is an element of policy that we already know from both Lukashenka and Putin, where thousands of people, often completely unaware they are instruments in someone else's hands, arrive and this creates serious tensions, starting from purely technical problems like how to protect the border, to humanitarian issues, like how to help them. One must be prepared for this, and I appreciate the fact that Prime Minister Tusk, that the government is doing a great deal to counteract, to be prepared in advance for such scenarios, rather than reacting when it's already happening – stated Aleksander Kwaśniewski at a press conference.

12:31

Security, Support for Seniors, and Housing Program: Szejna on The Left's EP Election Agenda
- We stand before a very important choice. This is the June 9th European Parliament election, one of the most significant, perhaps, in the history of our EU membership. We have a war in Ukraine, we have a conflict in the Middle East, we are fighting to ensure Poland is strong within a strong EU. We cannot allow groups like PiS, like Mr. Orbán's group, like the AfD, or others who want to break up the EU from within, which is not in Poland's interest, to win in the EU – stated Andrzej Szejna at a press conference. - Our program consists of many elements, I will only mention two or three. One of them is, of course, a strong Poland and a strong Europe, and cooperation in the area of security and resilience in terms of armed security, and cooperation within NATO and building this pillar that the EU should constitute. The second issue is the European Senior Program, or the European Senior Card. The third matter, within the framework of a pact between generations, is, of course, the issue related to the European Housing Program – he continued.

12:38

Błaszczak:

Civic Platform – Apologize for the Hate Towards Soldiers and Border Guards

-Tusk should apologize, and so I say – Civic Platform, apologize for the hate towards soldiers and border guards, for inciting against soldiers and border guards in 2021 and then until today. Civic Platform should apologize for voting against the construction of a barrier with Belarus. PO should apologize for the migration pact, which was adopted in the European Union. It should also apologize for threatening with penalties for not accepting migrants. We have not heard these words of apology – stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press briefing.

12:41

Błaszczak:

The election campaign and EP elections will pass, and they will forget about Polish Army soldiers

- They are simply unbelievable. The election campaign will pass, the elections to the European Parliament will pass, and they will forget about the soldiers of the Polish Army, about the officers of the Border Guard, about Polish policemen, and they will return to the narrative they have pursued for years, because it is the mainstream narrative in the European Union, and they fit into this mainstream. They cannot and do not want to fight for Polish matters - stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press briefing.

13:23

Morawiecki:

PO MPs Voted Against the Barrier Act, and Tusk Tried to Ridicule the Entire Initiative
- The state of emergency was introduced due to the threat of hybrid attack, illegal immigration, and it was a threat that could have led to the destabilization of the Polish state. This threat was then downplayed by the then-opposition leader Donald Tusk, who claimed they were poor people looking for their place on earth. He also said that the barrier would not be built, not in one year, nor in three years, trying to ridicule the entire initiative, while current PO MPs voted against the barrier act - stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the parliamentary committee investigating the visa scandal.

13:57

Morawiecki:

Chełstowski is a prime example of the crony politics of Civic Platform

Jakub Chełstowski is a prime example of the crony politics you [Civic Platform] are conducting, because he was a marshal, then he didn’t get elected this time, and now he’s gotten a gig in the Silesia financial company. That is, the fat cats of PO – stated Mateusz Morawiecki during the session of the investigative committee for the visa affair.

15:08

President Makes Decision on Silesian Language Bill

- The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, based on Article 122, paragraph 5 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of April 2, 1997, has refused to sign the Act of April 26, 2024, amending the Act on National and Ethnic Minorities and the Regional Language, and certain other Acts, and on May 29, 2024, returned the bill to the Sejm for reconsideration - informed the Chancellery of the President.

15:11

Szydło Responds to Mastalerek's Tweet:

He Will Not Dictate Who I Should Support.

- Marcin Mastalerek will not dictate to me who I should support. And let him deal with his own emotions, rather than trying to interfere in the United Right's campaign - wrote Beata Szydło on Twitter.

15:14

Morawiecki:

Irregularities Concerned Several Hundred Visas

- For me, it is more than clear that this is a commission on visa lies. I said here, and it is worth repeating, that the irregularities concerned several hundred visas, while during the campaign, hundreds of thousands of visas were mentioned. So it's a lie multiplied by 1000 – stated Mateusz Morawiecki after the session of the parliamentary committee investigating the visa scandal.

15:27

Szczerba:

I Have the Impression Morawiecki Has Abdicated His Prime Ministerial Role
- I have the impression that we have obtained confirmation of everything we expected. Firstly, there was no migration policy; the state did not control the number of visas issued, for whom, whether these individuals were arriving, or whether they subsequently left Poland. These 700,000 visas annually, a record in the European Union, is an achievement of Mateusz Morawiecki's government - Michał Szczerba told journalists. - I have the impression that Mateusz Morawiecki has abdicated his prime ministerial role; he did not grasp the areas related to the visa issue and migration policy, but perhaps worst of all, what burdens him the most, is that they did not act. They did not act in time to counteract the development of the corruption scandal that occurred within the circle of the Minister of Foreign Affairs - he continued.

15:39

Szczerba Announces Further Interrogations by Visa Scandal Investigative Committee
- Next week, two important interrogations that we scheduled for the very end: Zbigniew Rau, Jarosław Kaczyński, but also two witnesses who either did not appear yesterday, like Daniel Obajtek, or, like Tomasz Hinc, a close associate of Joachim Brudziński, refused to testify, invoking business secrecy. We will ensure that both Daniel Obajtek and Tomasz Hinc, released from business secrecy, can testify - said Michał Szczerba in a conversation with journalists.

15:45

Szczerba on Possible Further Actions Regarding Obajtek:

Request for Detention and Arrest.
- The attempt to serve this summons is taking place not only in the 7 established locations where Daniel Obajtek previously resided [...] but also across the entire Podkarpacie Voivodeship, the police are trying to determine Daniel Obajtek's whereabouts. However, we are increasingly receiving information that Daniel Obajtek is simply not sleeping in Poland, appearing in Podkarpacie, returning to Slovakia, returning to Hungary, fearing an encounter with law enforcement officials – Michał Szczerba told journalists. - It will then be a request to the court not for the maximum penalty, which is PLN 3,000 in this case, but for detention and arrest – he continued, when asked what would happen if Obajtek again failed to appear at the parliamentary investigative committee hearing.

15:55

June 9th Will Show If She Dictates to Mazovians Whom to Support. Mastalerek Responds to Szydło
- On June 9th, it will become clear whether Beata Szydło will dictate to the residents of Mazovia whom they should support. I am genuinely curious. And as for interfering in the campaign, as Vice-President of PiS, she shouldn't worry about my emotions, but about the emotions of the nine other PiS candidates from Mazovia - Marcin Mastalerek wrote on Twitter.

16:49

Kaczyński Calls on Tusk to Apologize: 'Today He Tries to Pretend He's the One Standing Firmly at the Border'
- Something quite peculiar is happening in Poland, though we are actually accustomed to it: namely, Donald Tusk is presenting himself as a defender of the border. A man who insulted, ridiculed, and fought against the defense of the border when we were in power, today he is trying to pretend that he is the one standing firmly at the border – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference in Nidzica. - Today he even visited it, as someone who guarantees its durability, guarantees defense against these acts of hybrid warfare, and this war is escalating, and it is escalating not by accident, it is escalating thanks to people like Tusk, primarily thanks to Tusk, because he decided on the attitude of the entire Civic Platform (PO), that they treated it in this way back then. Of course, celebrities and various other people joined them, but there is no doubt that the main culprit is precisely Tusk – he continued. - I call from this place, from Nidzica Castle, the Nidzica Castle, for him to apologize. Mr. Tusk, please apologize, please apologize to the guards, the soldiers, their families, their children – he added.

Kaczyński Denies Visa Scandal: 'It was a minor criminal undertaking'
- There was no major visa scandal; this is purely a propaganda campaign, and I will certainly say that during the committee session. It was a minor criminal undertaking that was uncovered by chance, and the reaction was in accordance with the law, meaning they were arrested, questioned, and subjected to investigation – Jarosław Kaczyński said at a press conference in Nidzica.

Let's Start Fixing the Housing Market in the First Half of the Year. Hołownia Announces Action on Social Housing Bill
- There are important matters and more important matters. As soon as the government sends the bill on social housing construction to the Sejm, I will include it in the agenda of the next session. Let's start fixing the housing market still in the first half of the year - wrote Szymon Hołownia on Twitter.

Budka Comments on Duda's Decision Regarding the Silesian Language Act:

Another Disgraceful Move.
- Today's decision by President Andrzej Duda to veto the Silesian Language Act is another disgraceful move by the President. A misunderstanding, perhaps acting against the interests of the voivodeship, but above all an incomprehensible action by a president who should be guided by objective premises - Borys Budka said at a press conference.

17:17

Rosa on the President's Veto:

You Truly Vetoed Your Own Citizens.
- You truly vetoed your own citizens [...]. Today, we managed to ensure the bill gained a majority in parliament, and today you took away the hope of so many people who wished to see Silesian recognized as a regional language. And this is a disgrace, because you disgrace our memory, our identity, and our history. But the truth is, in a little over a year, Mr. President, you will no longer be president. However, the way you have etched yourself into the memory of Silesian men and women will leave a mark; we will remember that you denied us our identity - said Monika Rosa at a press conference. - In a little over a year, there will be a new president, there will be a new law, and Silesian will be recognized as a regional language. And speaking of us in the context of hybrid actions and hybrid warfare, when talking about the Silesian language and its recognition as a regional language, this is yet another slap in the face for us, comparing us to the 'hidden German option' - she continued.

Tusk Invites to June 4th Rally:

Let's Be Together So That Evil Never Returns.
- We are arranging to meet next Tuesday, June 4th, at 6:00 PM, here in Warsaw, at Castle Square. To celebrate, because it is June 4th - the day Poles defeated evil - says Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a recording published on social media. - Also on June 4th last year, we repeated that great effort. Hundreds of thousands of people on the streets of Warsaw. And I want to tell you today with such conviction: let's be together on June 4th, so that this evil never returns to Poland - he emphasizes.

19:13

Tusk Comments on Duda's Veto:

I'd Say What I Think in Silesian, But It's Not Appropriate in Public.
- I would say what I think in Silesian, Mr. President, about your veto, but it's not appropriate in public - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

Hołownia on Duda's Veto: A Curious Justification. Diversity is Poland's Strength, Not a Threat
- We are well aware of how much we need, especially today, wise thinking about diversity being Poland's strength, not an obstacle or threat. President Andrzej Duda demonstrated such thinking today by vetoing the bill on the Silesian language, accompanying this decision with a curious – as it can be called nothing else – justification, explaining that he must veto the bill on the Silesian language because a hybrid war with Russia is ongoing, and Russia could – as I understand from this justification – lead to Silesians seceding Silesia from the Republic - said Szymon Hołownia in Opole. - One must live in a world with a rather limited access to current information and reflection to formulate such judgments and pile up such curious arguments - he assessed. - Yesterday, I was in Silesia, I spoke with representatives of the Silesian minority for a long time, until late at night. I know that this decision – expected since yesterday – will paradoxically, I deeply believe this, strengthen them. And while waiting for the next president who will sign this bill and will not ludicrously explain that Silesian identity is a threat to Polish identity, they will use this year to cement their potential, to rally around this foolish veto and transform it into the good we expect here - he continued.

19:45

Hołownia:

What Poland Needs Most Today is a Vision for Development, Not Just Reckoning
- What in my assessment, and I believe not only mine, Poland needs most today, what the voters of the October 15th Coalition are crying out for, is a vision. An economic vision, a vision for Poland's development, not just reckoning - said Szymon Hołownia in Opole. - They are important. The media at every stop of my tour get excited about whether a motion concerning MP Woś has already been filed, or if the postman has delivered a motion concerning another MP, whether they will go to jail or not. Perhaps they should go to jail, but will that make our lives better? Will our children stop leaving the country because of that? Will our GDP suddenly increase because of that? - he asked. - Yes – it’s good that people who stole will not steal again. But we will not allow that to happen. However, while settling accounts and tidying up what needs to be tidied up after the previous team, we must immediately start showing people where we are heading - emphasized the leader of Poland 2050.

20:01

Hołownia:

I Will Support Every National Minority, But We Won't Let Anyone Desegregate Poland Teritorially
- I believe that the Silesian language should have the status of a language that will be recognized by the state as a language, not an ethnolect of the Polish language. I will support every national minority that wants to build its identity in Poland, but if someone comes and says they want to detach a part of Poland from Poland, they are either an idiot or a saboteur - said Szymon Hołownia in Opole. - We all function within the conditions of the Republic of Poland, it is an integral state, no one has the right to question this. And if someone intends to question it, they are serving foreign forces, this should not happen. I do not know anyone of Silesian nationality, and I know many people of such nationality, who would come out with such postulates - he continued. - I will support every minority in Poland, but we will not allow anyone to desegregate the Republic territorially - he emphasized.

Bodnar Announces Further Motions Regarding Immunities

This is the first motion [regarding Michał Woś], but not the last; further ones are in preparation. Naturally, they will concern individuals from Suwerenna Polska, as these are the people who supervised the Fundusz Sprawiedliwości (Justice Fund) – stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:24

Bodnar Distances Himself from the Publication of Certain Tapes:

I Feel Humanly Sorry.

- It’s not that it doesn’t bother me, but I think that one thing is how I perceive it, and another is whether it constitutes a violation of the law. Here, I would not see a violation of the law. I will say this: today I read one conversation, which I don’t know if it was necessary, and which concerned, among other things, a very decent state official who works in the Ministry of Justice, and who previously worked in the Ministry of Interior and Administration. I am simply humanly sorry that she now has to read about herself. Here, one might say, is the source of my reservation about whether indeed all conversations must be published – stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i” (The Dot Above the i).

20:24

Szejna:

The Time Will Come When Kaczyński Will Face Prosecutors

- Of course, the former Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński knew and knows everything, and I believe that the time will come when he will answer for his actions, or rather leadership, before an independent prosecution. I am counting on that, and I don't think my expectations are in vain, because Professor Bodnar is, one might say, carving his way step by step through the forest of lawlessness that PiS has planted – stated Andrzej Szejna on the program "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.

- I believe that Jarosław Kaczyński is also responsible for Poland not receiving funds from the KPO for over a decade, even several decades, because he agreed to the violation of the rule of law in Poland in the name of his party's interests – he added.

20:28

Bodnar:

Sooner or Later, Responsibility Will Also Extend to Obajtek

- I think he laughs best who laughs last. I think that sooner or later this responsibility will also extend to Daniel Obajtek, especially since there are already about three main investigations underway: concerning the merger of Lotos with Orlen, the second concerning the overpricing of gasoline, and the third concerning the advance payment for oil purchase - stated Adam Bodnar in "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

21:41

Kaczyński on PO: An External Party, Representing German Interests
This is an external party [Civic Platform], I've said this many times already. It's not a Polish party in the strict sense, it's a party that represents German interests here, all German interests, and in the German interest is also cooperation with Russia, as it is - stated Jarosław Kaczyński on TV Republika.

21:55

Kaczyński on "East Shield": We will support it if it has a substantive aspect

- Generally, fortifications would certainly be useful, but firstly – the sum is unconvincing. It is, unfortunately, much too small. And secondly – the date – 2028. Today, we really need to hurry," stated Jarosław Kaczyński on TV Republika.

- I would very much like it to have a substantive aspect, and of course, then we will support it. Perhaps we will propose some corrections, we will criticize something, but we will support it. We are not a total opposition," he added.

22:39

Kaczyński:

I don't think we will be swept away. I believe those who want to destroy Poland will be swept away
We can oppose this, we just need to create a broad white-and-red front. And that is our goal. No, I don't think we will be swept away. I deeply believe that those who want to destroy Poland will be swept away - stated Jarosław Kaczyński on TV Republika.

22:44

Kaczyński hints at Tusk's European career:

Certain concepts have been circulating for a long time.

- Donald Tusk's statements are in the highest degree worthy of analysis, that's how I would put it, because I am gentle by nature, good-hearted, you know. And regarding statements about his future, I would raise that by at least one degree, because we have had very instructive examples here, and I simply wouldn't take it seriously in the slightest at this moment - stated Jarosław Kaczyński on TV Republika.

- We'll see what happens, we'll see what he considers profitable from his point of view, and we'll also see if certain concepts, which have been circulating for a long time – I first heard about them at least two years ago, even more – concerning various possibilities that also potentially include Tusk, are true, because if they are true, then I am absolutely certain that he spoke the truth, but if they are not true, then I would have far-reaching doubts - he continued.

22:51

Kaczyński:

PiS is a Plus, the Civic Platform is a Minus

- One could say - PiS is a plus, the Civic Platform is a minus, because this 'thousand minus' is a very good description, but I think it's generally a path towards eliminating these kinds of benefits - stated Jarosław Kaczyński on TV Republika.
