At 10:00 AM, the investigative committee on the "envelope elections" will begin its session, questioning Paweł Skóra, former Director of the IT and Telecommunications Division at Poczta Polska S.A. from 2019-2020. The committee will also hear testimony from former Minister of Health, Łukasz Szumowski.

At 10:15 AM, a "one-on-one" meeting will take place between President Andrzej Duda and the President of Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová. Subsequently, a meeting with media representatives is scheduled for 11:00 AM. 08:11

Nowacka:

I'm Not Going to Brussels
- I am absolutely not going to Brussels. We won the elections to fix Poland. […] I am glad I can be in the Ministry of Education and change Polish schools, why would I go to Brussels? […] For me, the opportunity to actually make changes in Poland is an absolute priority – stated Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

08:19

Nowacka on Local Elections: Emotions Were a Bit Like Mushroom Picking
- There are several reasons [for the low turnout in the local elections]. Firstly, the emotions were a bit like mushroom picking, apart from perhaps a few excitements of duels mainly from a very local perspective, probably in smaller towns [...], whereas on a national scale there weren't particularly big emotions - Barbara Nowacka said in "Graffiti" on Polsat News. - Our voter believed that the job was done on October 15th, so they engaged a little less - she added. - I think we all feel that we need to better educate people on what elections are for. And also, the mobilization of the young generation, the surge that happened in October, gave us all hope for the participation of the young generation. But democracy is not for ever, hence, among other things, a few days ago I announced that we are embarking on intensive work on the subject of civic education - she continued.

08:35

Nowacka:

Regulation on 20% Curriculum Slimming to Appear Any Day Now
- The regulation will appear any moment now, public consultations… We announced that it would be any day now, I think this week. 21 days after the consultations - said Barbara Nowacka in “Graffiti” Polsat News. - Slimming down [the curriculum by 20%] is necessary. Moreover, I would like to remind you that our predecessors initiated this work. Minister Czarnek not only wanted to slim down the curriculum but also to reduce hours, so that young people would not be overburdened. Source: Zalewska's reform - she continued.

08:47

Nowacka:

The Reading List Lacks Books from the 21st Century. We Must Open Up to This, While Knowing Classics Must Be Known
- The required readings that are currently in place – and research shows this – do not encourage reading. The goal is to encourage reading. I did not interfere with the reading list, but I did ask for one thing – that where it is indicated that the teacher can choose the reading themselves, meaning the teacher's autonomy, that they choose together with the student. So that young people also show what they are reading, what interests them – said Barbara Nowacka in Polsat News's "Graffiti". - Currently, there is no book in the reading canon that was written in the 21st century, yet brilliant works have been created, both Polish and international. So we must open up to this, while being aware that the canon and classics must be known – she stated.

08:48

Leszczyna on Pegasus Purchase: One of the Most Disgusting Scandals, They Took Money for Victims of Crime to Commit Crimes
- This is one of the most disgusting scandals, because we have many of them, yes, we remember that they enriched themselves during COVID and essentially stole public money wherever they could, but the fact that they took money that is dedicated to victims of criminals, in order to commit crimes, is the most disgusting thing that has probably ever happened under that government - said Izabela Leszczyna in an interview with Renata Grochal on the program "Bez Uników" on Trójka.

08:53

Siemoniak:

More than 500 People Were Wiretapped by Pegasus

- According to what we have conveyed as services, more than 500 people [were wiretapped by Pegasus], just over 500 people, and we will see how the Minister of Justice frames this information, because he is the host of this document – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in the program ,,Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- Certainly, there are justified cases, suspects of terrorism or counterintelligence issues, no one argues with that when it comes to security, preventing an attack. I think that public opinion accepts far-reaching actions by the services, and that's why Pegasus was created, that's why the State of Israel, Israeli companies invented it, to use it precisely in such situations, hence the subsequent withdrawal of the license – he continued.

08:55

Siemoniak:

Prosecutor's Office Investigating Whether Court Authorizations for Pegasus Use Were Obtained Fraudulently

- The prosecutor's office is investigating whether these authorizations were obtained fraudulently, in the sense that a routine operational control is one matter, and surveillance with a system like Pegasus is another, and whether judges were always aware of what tool would be used here. I believe that judges, speaking about this publicly, probably did not have full information, and also, from what judges are saying publicly, their comfort in this role is very low, there is time pressure, it's a single judge – said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

08:56

Siemoniak:

Ukraine Cannot Cope Without Western Aid

- I have the feeling that Ukraine needs to be helped with all its might, and the news from last night that the American package in the House of Representatives has a chance of being voted through is very positive information. This information is absolutely crucial, because Ukraine cannot cope without Western aid – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

08:56

Leszczyna on 'Morning-After Pill' Regulation: 'It's an Imperfect Solution, We'll Change It Once the President is No Longer in the Palace'
- If his lifelong learning brought any results, he would have signed this [morning-after pill] bill. Since he didn't sign it, I had to find another solution, and this is an imperfect solution. Of course, we will change it once Mr. President is no longer in the palace and we will change this bill - Izabela Leszczyna said on Trójka. - President Duda talks a lot of nonsense. Please ask any gynecologist, any doctor – this is not a hormonal pill. That's why we introduced only this one substance [...] precisely to avoid all this confusion - she continued.

09:00

Czarnek:

Exceptionally Dishonest Scammers from Brussels Have Finally Returned Money to Poles

- Exceptionally dishonest scammers from Brussels have finally returned money to Poles, which they unlawfully withheld for two years. 27 billion is around 6 billion euros, truly, hundreds of billions of euros held back by Brussels for no reason, because what has actually happened in the last 100 days? Because Tusk is in power? – stated Przemysław Czarnek during the program „Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

09:02

Leszczyna:

I'd Like History to Remember President Duda as an Enemy of Women
- I would very much like [the abortion bills] to come out of the [extraordinary committee] and I would very much like President Duda to take this test once more. I have no illusions about the final outcome, but I would like history to remember President Duda as a man who is an enemy of women, because Mr. President Duda certainly knows that in countries with very restrictive anti-abortion laws, 37 out of 1000 women terminate pregnancies, while in countries with very liberal abortion laws, it's 34 out of 1000 women - Izabela Leszczyna said on Trójka. - That means that women, regardless of the country they live in and the laws they are subject to, if they don't want to be mothers, they won't be mothers - she continued.

09:06

Leszczyna on E-Registration: I Want to Introduce Its First Elements from June 1, 2024
- If we finally introduce such a universal e-registration, I definitely want to introduce its first elements for specific specializations from June 1st of this year, but it will be a process, I don't want to say that from June it will be perfect. E-registration is important so that we can sensibly cancel appointments that we cannot attend - said Izabela Leszczyna in Trójka.

09:10

Czarnek:

There's a stalemate in Podlasie, I'm convinced it will work out well for PiS

- There's a stalemate in Podlasie, I'm convinced it will work out well for PiS – stated Przemysław Czarnek on the RMF FM program “Morning Conversation”.

09:15

Czarnek:

I'm Not Interested in Being PiS Chairman, Never, Never, Never

- I'm not interested in being the chairman of PiS, never, never, never. I'm interested in continuing to function in Lublin in the position I currently hold. The successes thanks to our wonderful candidates are enormous, so we can move forward with our program - stated Przemysław Czarnek in the program "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

09:17

Leszczyna on Respirators: Grounds to File a Prosecutor's Report Exist. Cieszyński Will Face Problems He Created Himself
- The National Revenue Administration is constantly working at my Ministry of Health, conducting an external audit so that I can formulate, of course, if there are grounds, but from the documents I already have, I know there will be... one such instance is that the Deputy Minister of Health is paying a multi-million advance, knowing that it is contrary to the Public Finance Act, that one cannot pay, even if it were not an arms dealer, we cannot pay taxpayer money for something that has not yet been done or delivered – said Izabela Leszczyna on Trójka. - I am talking about the purchase of respirators and the decision of Minister Cieszyński. [...] I am waiting for the full set of documents on this matter [...] definitely yes, this is the basis [for] filing a report with the prosecutor's office. This is an abuse of authority by an official, of course. I think he won't be the only one, but [Cieszyński] will have problems that he created himself – she continued.

10:12

Trzaskowski in Sieradz: Massive Mobilization is Necessary. These Elections Hold Unprecedented Importance

- A massive mobilization is necessary. We would like this mobilization to be as large as it was on October 15th, because these elections hold unprecedented importance. Winning in the first round is not easy at all; we have several dozen cities, almost 100 towns in Poland, where a second round is taking place. It is very important to turn out in large numbers at the polling stations, because a change is needed, a change is needed right here, in Sieradz. Michał is supported by all political forces that today co-create the government, because we are aware that cities like Sieradz must have a chance to develop well, for people to live well here, for people to want to stay in Sieradz, for them to have prospects for a good future, and above all, for them to be treated seriously - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Sieradz.

10:30

Tomczyk:

Wąsik and Kamiński Weren't Jailed Because They're from PiS, But Because They Are Criminals

- The issue of eavesdropping on people without authorization is simply an abuse of power. Mr. Wąsik and Mr. Kamiński were not in prison because they are from PiS; they were in prison because they are criminals. And we need to acknowledge that. If we allow people to be eavesdropped on, if systems like Pegasus are used to target citizens, it means we are ending democracy - stated Cezary Tomczyk in Sieradz.

10:33

Tomczyk:

Many believed Kamiński and Wąsik, pardoned by the president, were a closed chapter. My intuition suggests otherwise.

- The report [on the use of Pegasus] has been handed over to Marshal Hołownia; parliamentarians and the special services committee will now be able to review it. But this matter is not over; it's just beginning. Many people thought that Mr. Kamiński or Mr. Wąsik, who were pardoned by the president, were in some sense a closed chapter. My intuition suggests that this is not the case - stated Cezary Tomczyk in Sieradz.

11:20

Head of BBN and Generals at the Government Session:

Today We Will Have an Unusual Government Meeting.

- Today we will have an unusual government meeting. In the first part, in connection with the international situation and the escalating conflict in the Middle East, I have invited the Minister Jacek Siewiera, Head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), who also represents the President, and the Generals to participate in the first part of the government meeting. With us are the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wiesław Kukuła, and the Operational Commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces, General Maciej Klisz. This part will, of course, be held in a restricted mode - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the government meeting.

- The situation in the Middle East directly concerns our soldiers as well; they are present as participants in United Nations contingents, both in Lebanon and in Iraq. So, this is a sufficient reason to obtain detailed information today about the situation of our soldiers. However, as is known, the broader context is equally important, if not more so, concerning Poland's security in the perspective of the escalating conflict. Therefore, I will be asking for an assessment of this situation from the Generals and the Minister, as well as from Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the coordinating minister - the Prime Minister continued.

12:25

Duda:

Five Years of Polish-Slovak Cooperation Demonstrates Building Maximum Security in Our Part of Europe

- With emotion, I welcomed Ms. Zuzanna Čaputová today because, in reality, this is a farewell visit; Madam President is nearing the end of her term and will conclude her duties in June (...) today presents an opportunity for us to summarize, in light of this, five years of cooperation between our countries and building maximum security in our part of Europe and the world. It also entails strengthening economic prosperity in our part of Europe, which, despite many difficulties, we have managed to achieve, and for me, this is a great occasion to thank Madam President wholeheartedly - stated President Andrzej Duda during his remarks to the media after meeting with the President of the Slovak Republic.

- Most of all, I thank you for building this regional cooperation of ours, because it has been of immense significance. Thank you for Madam President always actively working within the Visegrad Group, thank you for Slovakia's active contribution to cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative; I am very grateful for that - he added.

12:32

Duda on Building a 'Dome' Over Europe: It's a German Business Project

- For years, we have been building an air defense system based primarily on the Patriot system, for which we signed agreements a very long time ago. If I remember correctly, it was probably in 2016 when we signed the contract for the delivery of Patriot systems (...) they will, of course, continue to be delivered to our country - stated President Andrzej Duda during a media briefing.

- The project, as far as I understand the one you are talking about, the dome over Europe, is a German business project that emerged two years ago, so it is relatively new compared to what we started building, it is something completely different. I understand that the Prime Minister is considering potentially joining this system, because I cannot imagine us abandoning the project we have been building for years, based on the Wisła system, Patriot missiles, which are currently being delivered to Poland, and the Pilica system, which is actually ready (...) and suddenly entering a new system - he added.

13:47

Błaszczak:

The X term of the Sejm is violating law, the Constitution of the Republic of Poland; Marshal Hołownia is responsible for all of it
- The X term of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland will go down in history as a term in which the principles of parliamentarism are being violated, in which the law is being flagrantly violated, the Constitution of the Republic of Poland is being violated. Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia is responsible for all of this. Step by step: The Law and Justice Parliamentary Club, which is the largest parliamentary club, does not have its representative in the Presidium of the Sejm because the December 13 coalition did not like the candidacy of Marshal Elżbieta Witek. Parity is not maintained in parliamentary committees; not all MPs nominated by the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club are chosen for inquiry committees; MPs are excluded from deliberations if they dare, and they are brave enough, to have a different opinion, a different stance – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference. - We are also dealing with an unprecedented example of law violation, which consists of depriving MPs Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik of their parliamentary mandates. This happened as a result of the actions of Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia. This is a violation of the Constitution. The Constitution of the Republic of Poland states that the Sejm is composed of 460 MPs. Today, there is no such representation in the Polish Sejm – he continued. - The Marshal of the Sejm is turning the Polish parliament, the Polish Sejm, into a laughingstock. He is focused on his own popularity, while he is responsible for the functioning of the Polish Sejm, and this responsibility does not at all match the activities of Marshal Szymon Hołownia – he went on to say.

13:54

Kamiński:

Wąsik and I Summoned to Prosecutor's Office to Be Charged
- The leader of the December 13 coalition, Mr. Donald Tusk, announced further repressions against me, against Maciej Wąsik. This happened the day after our release from prison, and these further repressions are happening. [...] Minister Wąsik and I have been summoned to the prosecutor's office for next Thursday to be charged with alleged illegal participation in Sejm votes. We consider these actions by the prosecutor's office as actively engaging in combating the opposition in our country. These are completely unlawful actions, demonstrating the subservience of many people in the prosecutor's office. This is completely unacceptable and unprecedented for me - said Mariusz Kamiński at a press conference.

14:05

Kamiński:

We cannot yield to Marshal Hołownia's requests. He had all the tools to prevent us from voting
- Ladies and gentlemen, you see the reactions and statements of Marshal Hołownia. Had he been convinced that a crime was being committed, he had all the means to take action to prevent it, for instance, by deactivating our voting cards or calling a recess. We participated in 7 votes that day, and none of those votes have been challenged to date on the grounds that unauthorized individuals participated,” Mariusz Kamiński said at a press conference. - Our duty on December 21st was to participate in the votes. We, as MPs, MPs who are also in opposition to Marshal Hołownia, cannot yield to his requests. He had all the instruments to prevent us from voting, and he did nothing. These votes have not been challenged; they remain valid. Among other things, we elected the new composition of the National Electoral Commission, the current composition. If unauthorized individuals participated, a crime was committed. This is what the prosecutor's office suggests,” he continued.

14:20

Kamiński on Pegasus Use: The Figure of Around 500 is Credible. Let's Not Treat Judges as Idiots; They Have Full Verification Capabilities and No Obligation to Consent.
- In the peak year, when operational controls using the internet messenger decryption system amounted to around 200, that was in 2021, of which 65% were counterintelligence requests, both from civilian counterintelligence, ABW, and military counterintelligence, i.e., the Military Counterintelligence Service, and in other years the figures were always below 100. So, I assume that a figure of around 500 is a credible one - said Mariusz Kamiński at a press conference.

- There was always court consent, the entire procedure was always followed [...]. Let's not treat judges as idiots. Firstly, the services' requests go to the District Court in Warsaw, in accordance with the law. These are judges who have been dealing with this issue for many years, they have full capabilities to verify everything, and they have no obligation to consent. Sometimes situations arise where judges reviewing a request deem it unfounded - he continued.

- All these requests were implemented with court consent - he added.

14:28

Tusk:

Poland is in a tougher situation than it could be, partly due to Macierewicz's decision

- We must be aware that today Poland is in a more difficult situation than it could be, partly due to the decision made by Minister Macierewicz, because we are paying a terrible price for what happened at the beginning of the PiS government's tenure. This was when Mr. Macierewicz was the head of the Ministry of National Defence. In 2015, at the end of our government's term, the decision was made to purchase Patriots. This was questioned by Minister Macierewicz and instead of 8 batteries, an agreement was eventually signed for 2 batteries, which was then done by Minister Błaszczak, but long years passed. The same happened with the tender procedure for armed drones of such tactical importance, and Antoni Macierewicz also annulled the ongoing tender procedures - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

14:32

Tusk:

Our task today is to leverage every opportunity, every ally to arm Poland's skies

- Our task today is to leverage every opportunity, every ally, every installation to arm Poland's skies in such a way that Poland is safe. This is not possible in the short term, but to make it possible as Israel is today from the sky's perspective, so as not to be as threatened as Ukraine - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

14:34

Tusk:

We Will Also Cooperate Within the European Sky Shield Initiative. I Don't Mind at All That Germany Was a Main Initiator

- I want to reassure everyone. Today, we are at a stage where, in Europe, as you've noticed, I've been speaking extensively with presidents and prime ministers in recent weeks. Everyone is coming to Warsaw, and the former Prime Minister of Great Britain will also be here shortly. We are cooperating very closely with them regarding our air defense capabilities and discussing how to make this fragmented Europe, including in terms of defending our skies, more integrated, so that these systems are not competitive - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

- Therefore, we will also cooperate within the European Sky Shield initiative, the European air shield, and it doesn't bother me at all, to be absolutely clear, that Germany was a main initiator of this initiative - he continued.

14:39

Kamiński:

I Learned That on Thursday, When I Was Summoned to the Prosecutor's Office, Szczerba is Summoning Me to the Visa Scandal Committee. I Treat This as a Provocation.
- I just learned from fellow MPs that on Thursday at 10 AM, at the same time I have been summoned to the prosecutor's office, Mr. Szczerba is simultaneously summoning me to the committee on the visa scandal, likely knowing that I will not be able to participate and probably staging some absurd demonstration that Kamiński is avoiding meeting with the committee. No, I am not avoiding it; I have a lot to convey to the MPs on this committee, and indeed to the public, regarding this matter. My knowledge of this case is real, and I genuinely want to present it to the public at this committee, but unfortunately not on that day, although I have not been formally summoned – Mariusz Kamiński stated at a press conference. - I have only checked that indeed I am listed on the parliamentary investigative committee's website, that at precisely 10 AM, on April 18th, I am to be interrogated in two places. Unfortunately, I do not possess the gift of being in two places at once. I consider this an element of some provocation from an overzealous politician from Civic Platform, and I am referring to Mr. Szczerba here – he continued.

14:39

Tusk:

I call on everyone not to look at their own interests or careers on security, nor to favor party or individual ideas

- Today I call on everyone, without exception, not to look at their own interests or careers on security, nor to favor any party or individual ideas. Here, we must be absolutely solidary and also focused around our military, and no political sympathies should play a role here, and it is extremely important to build a positive atmosphere around Poland - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

15:50

Tusk on Wąsik and Kamiński: No need for hysterical press conferences, they know well what they did
- In every case where illegal actions or actions detrimental to the interests of a specific person, their good name, or the actions of that previous administration are proven, they will also be subject to prosecution. Therefore, no declarations from them will change that. I don't know what matter Mr. Wąsik and Mr. Kamiński are being summoned to the prosecutor's office for, but there's no need for hysterical press conferences; after all, they are tough individuals and know well what they did – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

15:52

Tusk:

I would prefer no Polish politician to actively get involved in the US presidential campaign
- The campaign is underway in the USA. I have a clear view, and it seems to me that I am not original here. I have the impression that in Poland, almost everyone probably understands that from the perspective of Poland's security, Europe's security, and the future of NATO, a potential victory for President Trump would probably be detrimental to these matters, and I don't think I'm revealing any secrets, because almost every speech by President Trump very clearly shows his rather anti-Ukrainian sentiment. Such a pro-Russian attitude, which I also know from the past, his reluctance to help Ukraine, blocking financial aid, a very critical attitude towards NATO, so I would prefer no Polish politician to actively get involved in the campaign itself – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

15:55

Tusk on the KPO: It was a political blockade of funds for Poland prepared by PiS
- I will also do everything with the new European Commission to ensure that if, due to the time PiS stole from us, we are unable to spend all these funds [from the KPO] on time, they do not get forfeited. These are our Polish funds at the moment, and I will also talk with those who want to run for various European offices in Europe: with prime ministers, presidents, so that they take into account the circumstance that Poland might need a different formula, or a little more time to consume these funds, and I have ideas. I have a discreet plan for now, but I don't want to use these ideas yet, because we will do everything to fit within this cruelly shortened time by PiS – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM). - Yes, it was a political blockade of funds for Poland, a political blockade prepared by those who are leveling accusations today. PiS, Mr. Czarnek, Mr. Morawiecki have caused double harm to all of us in Poland. They took away our legal order, they took away the rule of law, and as a consequence, they also took away our time, precious time and billions that could be lost, as you yourselves fear, by asking your questions – he continued.

15:59

Duda:

Strong relations with the USA, regardless of who is in power, are of fundamental importance
- The United States is the guarantor of Europe's security, NATO, and from our perspective, above all, the guarantor of Poland's security. American troops are stationed here today, and in the era of Russian aggression against Ukraine, we are purchasing a lot of equipment from the USA. Therefore, good relations with the United States, regardless of who is in power, are of fundamental importance. That is precisely why, not long ago, a month ago, I was in the United States at the invitation of President Joe Biden - President Andrzej Duda stated at a press briefing before departing for the USA. - The most important element is the visit to New York and the UN headquarters. The UN Sustainable Development Week […], I will have an address at the opening panel of this week - he conveyed.

16:09

Duda:

I want to discuss the idea of increasing NATO defense spending to 3% with Prime Minister Trudeau
- Then we move to Canada. We start in Vancouver and the most important point there is the meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. We will be together at the second largest Canadian military base - President Andrzej Duda said at a press briefing before departing for the USA. - We will, of course, discuss the upcoming NATO summit, European security, and how to support Ukraine more effectively, but above all, I also want to discuss with the Prime Minister the idea of increasing NATO defense spending from 2% to 3%. This is an extremely important issue today for building the European security system, for providing an effective response to the constantly developing Russian imperialism - he continued.

16:35

Duda:

If the opportunity arises, I will also meet socially with President Trump

- We are committed to our relationship with the United States, with all spheres, with the politicians who are making decisions in the United States today. We are, of course, interested in meetings with influential people in the United States as well. We are talking with a man who was the President of the United States for four years, during which we cooperated, and we know each other well. It is not a new situation for me to meet with my friends who have held presidential office and with whom I have conducted Polish affairs on the international stage. (...) If the opportunity arises, as it depends on the schedule, I will also meet socially with President Donald Trump. There was an initial understanding about this in New York - President Andrzej Duda said at a press briefing before departing for the USA.

16:44

Duda on Pegasus: I Will Comment When Evidence is Public. Many Rumors, Half-Truths, and Lies Have Surfaced Around It
- I approach all information, especially media reports, very calmly. Not so long ago, there were reports about completely different, incomparably smaller numbers of people against whom actions related to ongoing proceedings, investigations, and crime detection activities were being carried out - President Andrzej Duda said at a press briefing before departing for the USA. - When there is evidence and it is made public - then I will comment. Many rumors, half-truths, and lies have already accumulated around this, legends. Approach this very calmly. Let the experts speak on this subject […], not rumors and making a political fuss, especially around crime prosecution - he continued. - The system was used for the purpose of prosecuting crimes. If it were used differently, of course, an appropriate measure of responsibility should be applied here. But it was acquired in order to fight crime in a modern and effective way - he added.

19:18

Work Begins on Abortion Law Proposals: Session Date Set

Next Tuesday – the day before the Sejm's second April session – the extraordinary committee tasked with considering draft laws concerning the right to abortion will convene. Its agenda will be to review a motion to adopt a resolution regarding public hearings on the matter. In total, there are 4 draft proposals, two authored by Lewica and one each by KO and Trzecia Droga.

Thus far, the committee has met once – on the day of its establishment last week – to elect its presidium.

19:56

Tusk on Morawiecki: Today he clumsily tries to play the tough guy on migration. Mateusz, the only thing worse than a lie is a stupid lie.
"Mateusz Morawiecki, as former Prime Minister, is responsible for bringing hundreds of thousands of arrivals from Africa and Asia to Poland. Today he clumsily tries to play the tough guy on migration. Mateusz, the only thing worse than a lie is a stupid lie" - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter.

20:00

Siewiera:

The Formula for a Government Session with Generals is Not Unusual
- The formula [for a government session with generals] is neither unusual nor extraordinary. It is a formula that, incidentally, is provided for in Polish regulations. As long as the national security of the Republic and its inhabitants is not threatened, this formula is sufficient to discuss matters of foreign policy, our foreign relations, including in a global context - said Jacek Siewiera in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' 'Gość Wydarzeń'.

20:08

Siewiera:

The International Situation is Undoubtedly Very Tense and Serious
- Without a doubt, the international situation is very tense and very serious. It is enough to say that, in addition to the Council of Ministers meeting, today there was also a meeting held under a secret clause, chaired by the Minister of Defence, Kosiniak-Kamysz, with the participation of the heads of services. In the meantime, between these two meetings, I received a representative of the American administration at the National Security Bureau (BBN) – said Jacek Siewiera on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

20:19

Bodnar:

There is Still Room to Persuade the President to Sign the KRS Bill

- I think there is still room to persuade the president to sign this bill. I think what is important is that this week the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE issued its opinion on the bill. This is a very important institution that opines in various unusual situations, and the OSCE has indicated that such an exceptional solution to rectify the situation in the National Council of the Judiciary is permissible from the perspective of international standards - stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

Bodnar:

Venice Commission to Visit Poland in April

- On April 25th, the Venice Commission will be in Poland and we will see what opinion they issue. Perhaps, I hope, it will be a positive opinion, perhaps an opinion suggesting some modifications, and maybe that will convince the president - stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

Bodnar on Giertych: I Wonder Why He Appeals Mainly Via Twitter, Instead of Simply Sending a Letter
I'm just wondering why, since I can do it here, why the advocate [Roman Giertych], the MP, appeals mainly via Twitter, instead of simply sending a letter. It seems to me that one could simply send a regular letter here, and I would react - stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

Paprocka on Duda-Trump Meeting: Initiated by Trump, Many Topics to Discuss with a Key US Politician
- The meeting is happening at the initiative of President Trump. I believe there are many topics that can be discussed with one of the very important politicians on the American scene. [...] The United States is our key partner, both in bilateral relations and within the framework of alliances, such as NATO. President Trump has been very strongly committed to these transatlantic relations since the beginning of his presidency – Małgorzata Paprocka said in TVP Info's "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day). - Next year, in the first half of 2025, Poland will hold the presidency of the European Union [...] one of the priorities already established for this presidency is to also tighten cooperation on the line of the European Union itself – the United States – she continued.

Siewiera on Tusk and Duda's words about the European Iron Dome: Neither a dispute, nor a dome, nor iron
- Neither a dispute, nor a dome, nor iron. To systematize: the European anti-missile shield project, which has a 24-month timeline, is a project initiated by the German side - that's what the President meant - said Jacek Siewiera in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - During this time, on the Polish side, very advanced discussions were already underway regarding the ABCS coordination system and its implementation, led by Minister Błaszczak. This is the most advanced air defense command system possessed only by the United States and Poland. And the Americans clearly indicated, by granting consent from Congress and the Department of State for the implementation of this system in Poland, who controls these assets - Poland - he continued. - The contract was signed not by the Prime Minister, but by the then Minister Błaszczak, and later by the Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Kosiniak-Kamysz, which is highly valued by the President and, in the assessment of the National Security Bureau, should be further developed - he continued. When asked if, regarding the construction of the "dome," Poland is further ahead than Germany, he replied: Yes.

Paprocka:

Today, there is no more important partner for the Republic of Poland in international relations than the USA
- Today, there is no more important partner for the Republic of Poland in international relations than the United States, and it is precisely in this context that this meeting [Duda-Trump] should be viewed - said Małgorzata Paprocka on TVP Info.

Siewiera:

President Will Support European Iron Dome Initiative If It Includes Polish Command System and Industry
- The President raised this issue, and I did as well, during meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz's advisor [...] a year ago, stating that potential partnership in a European missile defense shield is possible. But first: it must take into account the radar systems we have located in Poland, the easternmost part […], it must take into account the offer of Polish industry, meaning radar systems produced in Poland - Jacek Siewiera said on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". - The President will support this initiative if it includes the Polish command system and Polish industry - he emphasized.

Paprocka on the European Sky Shield: If it is to complement the Patriot system, the President has no objections
- No [the European Sky Shield cannot be another point of contention between Tusk and Duda], it is, I think, a very bad connotation to the Prime Minister's statement today, perhaps some misunderstanding of the context of the President's remarks during the press conference [...]. The President clearly states: it can be a complement to the system [...] but above all, the President is concerned that it should not be a solution that replaces the actions taken in recent years as part of building the Patriot system, here in cooperation with the Americans and the British - said Małgorzata Paprocka on TVP Info.

- I don't see any major inconsistency here and I don't quite understand such a disproportionate reaction from the Prime Minister, because if we are talking about supplementing what has been built for years, I mean the system based on Patriots, then strengthening in every element, the President will not question it in any way [...] if it is to be a supplement, the President has no objections to it - she continued.

Paprocka:

We Appeal for the Constitutional Tribunal to Quickly Settle the Legality of Sejm's Composition
- The President expects the Constitutional Tribunal to settle the matter of the legality of the Sejm's composition, as this is an absolutely crucial issue for whether laws are passed in accordance with the Constitution. No one else can do this except the Constitutional Tribunal, because only the Constitutional Tribunal has such powers, and we appeal for this resolution to happen as quickly as possible - said Małgorzata Paprocka on TVP Info.

Arłukowicz:

Pegasus was used illegally, and everyone who commissioned, spied, or eavesdropped will be held accountable.
- It's no longer just about the fact that Giertych, Brejza, and so on were eavesdropped on. This is about where the data from these eavesdropping and spying activities ended up, where it is. Is it on disks in Israel, or perhaps Russian services are trading with other services? We know about this trade between services, and the European Commission has proven it. Therefore, gentlemen, Pegasus was bought illegally, Pegasus was used illegally, and everyone who commissioned, spied, or eavesdropped will be held accountable – Bartosz Arłukowicz stated on the program "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.

We are Ready for the EP Elections. These are Important Elections, We Cannot Send People Like Kamiński or Wąsik There

- We are ready, it's a very smooth transition from the local government campaign, practically from one day to the next into the European campaign, which is extremely important for two reasons, and I wanted to emphasize that. Our security, that EP, which is ending its term, already had a security problem once in the form of health, thanks to Poles, a health committee was established, which I headed, or a committee to fight cancer, which I also headed, but this security today is also expanding to include military security and the security of our citizens. The EP will play a huge role, and we cannot send people like Kamiński or Wąsik there, because it will not only be a disgrace, but they will harm Poland – said Bartosz Arłukowicz on TVN24.

Zgorzelski on PiS's EP Candidates: An Ark is Being Built to Shelter Those Who Might Face Charges

- An ark is being constructed there to shelter and transport all those who might have to face the Prosecutor General and charges. Let's be serious, Mr. Editor, please do not compare these two things at all. Because today it is important that the Polish representation in the EP, especially that in the EPP, has a large group, so that we can have an influence on what is happening in the EU – stated Piotr Zgorzelski in the program "Fakty po faktach" on TVN24.
