Politics This Week: Warsaw Debate, Trzaskowski with Nowacka, Government on Foster Care Supplements, KRS Hearing, Constitutional Tribunal on Mail-in Voting, Kwiatkowski and Woś Before Committee

The final week before the holidays is dominated by the ongoing local government election campaign – a Warsaw debate is scheduled for Wednesday on TVP. Rafał Trzaskowski has activities planned starting Monday morning, including a press conference with Barbara Nowacka. Other political events of the coming week include a public hearing on the bill concerning the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) and the questioning of Krzysztof Kwiatkowski and Michał Woś by a parliamentary investigative committee.

Trzaskowski with Nowacka. Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, seeking re-election, will be meeting with residents on Monday morning at the so-called "Warsaw Griddle" near the metro station. We hear that a joint press conference with Minister Barbara Nowacka is planned for Tuesday.

Duda with Soldiers. On Monday, at the 1st Transport Aviation Base in Warsaw, President Andrzej Duda will meet with soldiers and military personnel on the occasion of the upcoming Easter holidays.

Public Hearing on the KRS Bill. On Tuesday, during a meeting of the Sejm's justice and human rights committee, a public hearing will be held concerning the government's draft amendment to the law on the National Council of the Judiciary.

Government on Foster Care Supplements. An increase in support from the Labour Fund for the execution of local government's own tasks in the area of family support and the foster care system, particularly through co-financing of salaries for professional foster parents and operators of family children's homes – this is what the government project, which will be addressed on Tuesday, entails.

Constitutional Tribunal on Mail-in Voting. On Tuesday, a hearing at the Constitutional Tribunal, which has been postponed previously, is scheduled to address the constitutionality of then-Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's directives related to the preparation of mail-in elections in 2020, based on "anti-COVID" regulations.

Warsaw Debate. On Wednesday, TVP3 Warszawa will broadcast the Warsaw Debate, hosted by Joanna Dunikowska-Paź and Jakub Sito. In the studio will be Rafał Trzaskowski, Magdalena Biejat, Romuald Starosielec, Janusz Korwin-Mikke, Przemysław Wipler, and Tobiasz Bocheński, who will answer the hosts' questions and present their vision for managing the capital. The Warsaw Debate will also be simultaneously broadcast on TVP Info.

Kwiatkowski and Woś Before Committee. On Wednesday, the Pegasus investigative committee will question the former President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, followed by the former Deputy Minister of Justice, Michał Woś.
