The government will discuss, among other things, a draft bill on the National Council of the Judiciary. Trzaskowski on Local Government Funding. On Monday, a meeting will take place between Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski and Finance Minister Andrzej Domański, dedicated to a new system for financing local governments. We hear that this week, Trzaskowski will focus on security matters in Warsaw – including a joint session with the Ministry of Interior and Administration on Tuesday, and a planned joint appearance with local government representatives from across Poland on Thursday.
Pegasus Investigative Committee. On Monday, the Pegasus investigative committee will hold its first substantive meeting. The agenda includes determining the number of permanent advisors and approving candidate proposals, the committee chair presenting the work plan, reviewing evidence requests regarding material submissions, and reviewing evidence requests for summoning individuals to testify.
Visit of the Swedish Prime Minister. On Monday, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will visit Warsaw. His schedule includes meetings with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda.
Government on KRS. At its Tuesday session, the government will address, among other things, a draft amendment to the law on the National Council of the Judiciary. "This project assumes a return to the former method of electing judicial members of the KRS, meaning it assumes that judges will elect the members of the KRS," Adam Bodnar told journalists in the Sejm. The agenda also includes a draft regulation on the establishment of the Ministry of Industry.
Nitras on Ministry Plans. On Tuesday, the parliamentary committee on physical culture, sport, and tourism will convene to hear information from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism regarding the ministry's plans and current operations, along with a presentation by the ministry's leadership.
Further Hearings by Investigative Committee. On Tuesday, the investigative committee on postal voting will hear testimony from the former CEO of Poczta Polska, Przemysław Sypniewski, followed by the former vice-CEO, Grzegorz Kurdziel.
Sejm on Bodnar's Dismissal. During the three-day session beginning on Wednesday, the Sejm will consider the Law and Justice (PiS) motion for a vote of no confidence in Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar. MPs will also hear information on significant problems arising from the Constitutional Tribunal's activities and rulings in 2022, as well as information on the activities of the National Council of the Judiciary in 2022.
Sejm on the 'Day After' Pill. Most likely, during the aforementioned Sejm session, there will also be a third reading – and thus a vote – on the government's draft amendment to the Pharmaceutical Law, which proposes making the 'day after' pill available over the counter.
