- When my colleagues, my female colleagues pondered for a moment where to begin this new chapter, this time a major campaign for local government in Poland, and it's important also because we must restore the prestige of territorial self-government, people who focus their attention on the grassroots, on everyday life matters, in constant contact, cooperation, sometimes confrontation with various interests and problems, they know very well that we can and should solve a great many of these things at the local government level, and for that, we need honest self-government, largely independent of central government and as well-resourced as possible, with means and tools - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- It is difficult not to begin this local government campaign by stating that for 8 years, attempts were made to effectively not just limit, but actually eliminate the essence of local government, which is true independence from what ideas about life for people on the ground are held by so-called Warsaw or the central authorities – stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- As you have noticed, particularly spectacularly in recent days, the world is shaking at its foundations in some sense. We all listen with the greatest concern sometimes to the words of political leaders, for example, in the USA, who question whether NATO will truly be ready, and above all, whether the USA will be ready for full solidarity with other NATO states in this confrontation with Russia, which promises to be long-lasting - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- We must awaken politicians and societies in Europe towards a common, intensive, starting with finances, but also common defense policy, understood as joint investments. Money must also go towards defense. We, as a state bordering Russia, de facto on the front line, must make a gigantic effort here, and this must be a joint effort. There can be no divisions here between the left, right, center, the government, and the opposition. This is an offer that stems from decency and common sense. Poles must stand together in the context of defending our nation and state, and the security of our state - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- Among other reasons, tomorrow I will be in Paris and Berlin; I want to rebuild the Weimar Triangle as soon as possible, meaning cooperation between Poland, Germany, and France, which is important from a security perspective - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- I want to guarantee you that this will be a priority for my government for years, for long years. Restoring a sense of security, regardless of Moscow's madness, of what plans are being born in Moscow, Beijing, or Iran - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- I'm not saying Jarosław Kaczyński has to fall in love with me, God forbid, that's the last thing that would cross my mind, but I would very much like him to respect the will of the people. He didn't get the majority of the votes, that should be the foundation of cooperation. It's known there won't be any great love, that's quite obvious, but democracy isn't about everyone loving everyone else. Democracy is about everyone respecting the common games, the rules of action - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- Poland should do everything in its power, together with the entire Western community, to prevent Ukraine from losing the war against Russia, and at the same time, we cannot allow ill-conceived decisions, concerning both Ukraine and the so-called Green Deal, to harm the interests of thousands of farmers in Poland and Europe. These decisions are ill-conceived because they are imprecise, do not take into account specific circumstances, and do not foresee consequences - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- The CPK must be very well thought out. Hell broke loose when we said that experts would make the decision whether the criteria adopted by PiS are actually, beyond the ambition that Kaczyński will have a bigger airport than Germany or France, and frankly, I don't have a complex towards Germans or French, so I don't have to prove every day that I will have a bigger airport. But I also know how much hope an ambitious, cool investment that will enhance our infrastructural capabilities always raises. All I did, and there can be no other decision, is to quickly and objectively assess what is best from the perspective of the country's interests, what location, what scale, where the tracks for high-speed rail should run, and which way they should go. This is not extraordinary - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- Our project, which is today called CPK, we will carry out in Poland's interest, with public money, accounted for down to the last penny. There will be no millions paid out to people for mowing a meadow in Baranów, there will be no unfair expropriations. We will once again put this right-side up, so that no one in Poland thinks that even one zloty has been wasted because some politician has great ambitions - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- I can tell you that in the coming days, not weeks, in the coming days, you will see a fundamental change regarding the activities of our services at the border, including phytosanitary services - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

- The full list of all companies has already been compiled. This week, we will obtain legal opinions to enable its public disclosure. Every Pole should see who profited when Polish farmers were in significant trouble, and I will have no problem with that. The list will be available - stated Michał Kołodziejczak in Morąg.

- For now, we are continuously investigating the extent to which Adam Glapiński's actions were lawful. Here, MP Cichoń will be directly involved, a man from your region, and I hope that the legal consequences for some actions will conclude swiftly when it comes to President Glapiński. But at this moment, we are preparing these matters; I do not want to preempt the facts - stated Donald Tusk in Morąg.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk's visit to Paris and Berlin, a Cabinet Council meeting, the government discussing changes to the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), and further hearings before the inquiry committee – these are just some of the events that will dominate the coming days in politics. Additionally, this week marks the deadline for registering electoral committees, and during the Senate session, the President of the European Parliament will address the chamber.

Tusk in Paris and Berlin. On Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will travel to Paris and then to Berlin. "I want to rebuild the Weimar Triangle as quickly as possible, which is cooperation between Poland, Germany, and France, important from a security perspective," the head of the Polish government stated in Morąg. In the French capital, Tusk will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski.

Deadline for Registering Electoral Committees. Monday marks the deadline for notifying the National Electoral Commission (PKW) or the relevant electoral commissioner of the formation of an electoral committee for the local government elections.

Trzaskowski in Wilanów. The cycle of visits by the Mayor of Warsaw to the city's districts continues. Next Tuesday, Rafał Trzaskowski will visit the last of them – Wilanów.

Cabinet Council. On Tuesday, a Cabinet Council meeting convened by the President will take place. "It will be two months since the government was appointed, so after two months of work, we will be able to sit down with government representatives and calmly discuss how the government perceives these investments [including CPK] and how the government intends to continue implementing them," said Andrzej Duda.

Government on KRS Changes. This week, the government may address the draft concerning the National Council of the Judiciary, as mentioned by the Minister of Justice a few days ago. "I hope this draft will be adopted by the Council of Ministers next week. This draft assumes a return to the former method of electing judicial members of the KRS, meaning judges will choose the members of the KRS," said Adam Bodnar in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

Dworczyk and Witek Before the Inquiry Committee. On Tuesday, the inquiry committee on postal elections will continue hearing the former Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Michał Dworczyk. On Wednesday, MPs from the same committee will hear the former Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek.

Constitutional Tribunal on Anti-COVID Regulations. On Wednesday – at the request of PiS MPs – a hearing of the Constitutional Tribunal will take place concerning the so-called anti-COVID regulations, in the context of orders issued by the Prime Minister related to the preparation of postal elections in 2020.

EP President in the Senate. On Thursday, the 6th session of the upper house will continue. On this day, an address by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, is planned. The agenda of the session will also be supplemented with several laws.

GUS on Inflation. On Thursday, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) will release information on the consumer price index for January – preliminary data, which in practice means information on inflation in the first month of 2024.
