Sikorski:

We Should Respond to the Latest Attack on Ukraine in a Language Putin Understands

- We should respond to the latest attack on Ukraine in a language Putin understands: by tightening sanctions so he cannot produce new weapons from smuggled components and by giving Kyiv long-range missiles that will allow it to eliminate launchers and command centers - wrote Radosław Sikorski on Twitter.

Schetyna:

The Coalition Will Last the Entire Term. There is No Alternative for it in This Parliament.
The coalition will last [the entire term]. There is no alternative for this coalition in this Sejm, this Senat, this parliament. I think so [with this Prime Minister]. It is Donald Tusk's decision whether he will lead this coalition. He is such a supporter, a segment, meaning he is an element that certainly holds it together - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:01

Schetyna on Relations with the President: After June, a Truce Will Inevitably Follow, Along with Finding a Formula for Coexistence

- June 9th, the European Parliament elections, will also bring a change in presidential policy. I believe that until then, until the EP campaign, we will be part of a political dispute or a political war. It's evident today that everything will be very, very difficult. The conflict will last until June; after June, a truce will inevitably follow, along with finding a formula for coexistence, meaning cooperation between the 'big' and 'small' palaces. This is essential for the state to function normally - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:04

Schetyna:

I Am a Supporter of Finding Agreement with the President, Although I Believe It Won't Be Easy

- I am a supporter of agreement, of finding agreement, although I believe it won't be easy. Moreover, it will be difficult, because we need to look at the entire camp of the so-called United Right. A lot is happening internally there; we don't see it from the outside, but I believe there will be a search for a new arrangement, a leader, there will be problems in the Kaczyński-parliamentary club relations, a lot will happen there when writing these big scenarios – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:09

Schetyna on Public Media Changes: A Very Difficult Scenario. Sienkiewicz is Pursuing It Consistently

- It is ongoing, and it's difficult to assess the consequences of a battle when the fighting is still happening - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- This is a very difficult scenario. Sienkiewicz is pursuing it consistently, and the question is where this consistency will end and what the end will be. Because I believe January 11th will also be a certain symbol, meaning the demonstration organized by PiS. They will, of course, escalate this resistance, the occupation of Plac Powstańców Warszawy, the TVP building. All of this will eventually come to an end - he continued.

- Ultimately, I believe, and this is something obvious, that the government's side, the right side, will prevail - he added.

08:19

Błaszczak:

At a press conference with Kaczyński, we will once again present the motion of no confidence in Sienkiewicz
- It will be a press conference [with Jarosław Kaczyński] at which we will once again present the motion of no confidence in Colonel Sienkiewicz, delegated by Donald Tusk to hold the office of Minister of Culture and National Heritage. We are protesting in this way against the illegal forceful takeover of public media - stated Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on „Gość Radia ZET”.

08:22

Schetyna:

Kamiński and Wąsik will not go to prison

- They will not go to prison [Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik] because the president will pardon them. I believe there will be a second pardon, which will be an admission that the first one was unlawful. They will not go to prison - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in the "Piasecki Conversation" on TVN24.

08:28

Kotula on Public Media: We Promised a Law, and It Will Be Presented as Soon as Possible, Within a Few Weeks

- We promised that there would be a law, and it will come as soon as possible. Not only Donald Tusk spoke about this, but the president also knows that we committed to it. I am certain that it will be presented within a few weeks. We will process it, discuss it at a government session, and we will discuss it at a Sejm session - stated Katarzyna Kotula on Polsat News's program "Graffiti".

08:34

Kotula:

We Want to Proceed with the Civil Partnerships Bill in the Spring
In the spring, we want to proceed with the [civil partnerships] bill. We want to start consultations from the new year. We want to return and put on the table those bills that we said were good, contained good provisions, and were bills that fit the current moment for their consideration. Estonia has just introduced marriage equality – stated Katarzyna Kotula on the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News. We are talking with representatives of the Polish People's Party (PSL), with Kosiniak-Kamysz. I would like to persuade our coalition partners that the bill on civil partnerships should be a government bill. This would be symbolic, very important for all those people who are waiting for this regulation of the legal status, which today is a pure form of discrimination – she added.

08:35

Błaszczak:

TVP Signal Was Turned Off Twice in Poland's History - in 1981 and 2023
- Do you know how many times the TVP signal was turned off in Poland's history? Twice - on December 13, 1981, and on December 19 last year - said Mariusz Błaszczak on 'Gość Radia ZET'.

08:39

Gawkowski on Public Media Takeover: 'Reasonable and Well-Planned'
- For me [the way public media is being taken over] is reasonable and well-planned. In my opinion, it is constitutional and in line with the law, because firstly, the minister responsible for media, in this case the Minister of Culture, can make changes and has made changes to supervisory boards, and these boards have made changes to the presidents of the companies, and then there was also the result of the President's decision regarding the budget-related act and the liquidation of media - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM's "Morning Conversation". - In this case, yes [the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights is mistaken], I am in favor of a deep clean-up of public media - he continued.

08:39

Kotula:

Unfortunately, I Don't Think We'll Find a Majority for Abortion Liberalization

- Unfortunately, I don't think we'll find a majority for [abortion] liberalization. There are many bills submitted, and I hope they will be processed quickly. After the new year, I think we even agreed on this with Marshal Hołownia - stated Katarzyna Kotula on the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:41

Błaszczak:

January 11th Protest to Show Disagreement with Martial Law-like Practices. More Demonstrations Are Certain
- I believe the December 13th coalition will retreat from illegal actions under public pressure. Moreover, the protest of free Poles, the demonstration on January 11th at 4:00 PM, in front of the Sejm, will be a signal to withdraw from illegal actions – Mariusz Błaszczak said on "Gość Radia ZET". - This is intended to show a lack of agreement with such practices, practices reminiscent of martial law. People will come from all over Poland, likely by bus. Cars, buses, vans, and trains will also be used. [...] We count on Poles truly saying "no" to the December 13th coalition, that they oppose it, that they stand for freedom of speech, and that this freedom is being violated – he continued. - There will be as many [demonstrations] as there is a will to express one's opinion in this way. This is entirely permissible in a democracy. Unless the December 13th coalition bans demonstrations [...]. There will certainly be more – he continued.

08:47

Gawkowski:

I believe the Cybersecurity System Act will be submitted to the Sejm in 2024
- We have initiated the process for the National Cybersecurity System Act. This act will be regulated, and I believe it will be submitted to the Sejm in 2024. I hope it will also be processed in the Sejm in 2024, and it will restrict what could be dangerous from the perspective of critical infrastructure on the Polish market - said Krzysztof Gawkowski on RMF FM. - There are recommended companies that might face problems in the Polish market. What kind of devices these will be will be precisely specified in the act. I am awaiting social consultations on this matter - he continued.

08:53

Błaszczak:

Plan to Halt Illegal Actions of the December 13 Coalition is a Vote of No Confidence in Sienkiewicz and a Demonstration on January 11
- There is a plan to halt the illegal actions of the December 13 coalition. This plan consists of a motion of no confidence against Colonel Sienkiewicz and a demonstration that will take place on January 11 - Mariusz Błaszczak said on "Gość Radia ZET".

08:56

Gawkowski on the Lack of Women in Deputy Minister of Digitization Positions: We Have Positions Resulting from the Coalition Agreement, Our Coalition Partners Nominate Deputy Ministers
- Today, we have more women than men in the ministry's leadership, meaning at director positions. The fact that we have political positions, which also result from the coalition agreement, where our coalition partners, because we form a coalition, nominate deputy ministers, is not a problem for me - said Krzysztof Gawkowski on RMF FM. - Please also ask the coalition partners [why there are no women among the deputy ministers of digitization] [...]. I had an influence on negotiating the coalition agreement, and we discussed with partners that they would nominate their best specialists for the government. They did. There are ministries where all deputy ministers are women, and there are those where they are men - he continued.

09:47

Błaszczak:

The Conviction of Kamiński and Wąsik is a Signal of the Deep State in Poland, a Russo-German One, Saying: Don't Dare to Fight Corruption
- Courts are not infallible, and for me, the conviction of Ministers Kamiński and Wąsik is scandalous because it is a conviction of police officers who fought corruption. […] This is a signal of the deep state, because there is also a deep state in Poland, like in America – only it differs from the American one, because the deep state in America is American, while the deep state in Poland is Russo-German. The signal of this deep state is: Don't dare to fight corruption. It shows tolerance for corruption – said Mariusz Błaszczak in “Gość Radia ZET”.

11:24

Zdrojewski on the Kamiński and Wąsik Case: I Think Marshal Hołownia Made a Mistake
- I think Marshal Hołownia made a mistake, and this mistake is a source of disinformation, also concerning the discussion on this topic. It must be remembered that both Mr. Wąsik and Mr. Kamiński not only have a final court ruling, but it is important why they have this final ruling, in what procedure, in what manner, and in relation to what offenses the pardon took place - said Bogdan Zdrojewski in "Rozmowa Dnia" on Radio Wrocław. - I understand and do not question the President's right to pardon when there is a final conviction by a court. [...] But I question the second element that took place when the previous decision was made. Please note that Kamiński and Wąsik were convicted for offenses related to their activities as public officials. I cannot imagine and cannot accept a situation where the President signs a pardon for them [...] but at the same time, with his other hand, he presents them with nominations for positions where the offense was committed - he continued. - The President has a chance to rectify his mistake, meaning, in short, if he was convinced to pardon during a non-final conviction, he should repeat this decision with a final conviction and end the debate on the matter. Meanwhile, Marshal Hołownia, I remind you, he does not make the decision to revoke the mandate. Because that is a mistaken interpretation. He informs about the revocation of the mandate. This is merely information. The consequence of this information should be their exclusion from parliamentary work. So, in my opinion, this tolerance towards this event, the attempt to wait for the Supreme Court to perhaps treat this announcement differently, is, in my opinion, erroneous and leads us into a trap - he went on to say.

12:34

Kaczyński:

January 11th Demonstration – A Defense of Free Speech, Media, and Democracy Itself, Which We Face a Genuine Problem With Today

- The 11th of January is approaching, a day on which a demonstration will take place in Warsaw in defense of free speech, media freedom, and simply in defense of democracy, because we have a genuine problem with democracy today. To the extent that the problems that were discussed over the last 8 years were entirely fabricated, because who has ever seen a non-democratic state where the opposition operates peacefully, and a total opposition at that, very aggressive, brutal, without any limitations, where there are no restrictions on the right to demonstrate, where the majority of the media is against the government, a decisive majority, and also experiences no limitations, where normal elections of all kinds are held, and where, finally, power is changed with the help of a ballot, and these are only the most general elements that indicate that in Poland we were dealing with the functioning of a normal democratic state, where one serious dispute occurred concerning the interpretation of certain provisions regulating the appointment of judges to the Constitutional Tribunal – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

12:37

Kaczyński on Tusk's Words: This Means That In Fact, the Law Does Not Apply

- Donald Tusk announced that the law will be applied as we understand it. This means that the law will be interpreted arbitrarily, and this in turn means that in fact it does not apply; simply the political will of the authorities applies. And these words turned out not to be thrown to the wind, but entirely serious. Well, the actions that are currently being taken, primarily against the media, but also announced against other institutions of public life, are completely illegal actions, where attempts are made to replace statutes with resolutions, where acts are carried out that are obviously completely forbidden by laws that are lex specialis in this case, in relation to the Commercial Companies Code - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

12:39

Kaczyński:

We are dealing with a great broken promise

- We are dealing with a great broken promise, we have new taxes, we are essentially seeing the liquidation of newly established institutions like the 'Cheap Credit' program, we are dealing with such a drastic misleading of public opinion as the issue of 60,000 tax-free [benefits] and one could multiply these tax [instances] - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

12:44

Kaczyński on TVP: "And How Much Was Earned There Before? Tadla, Considering Inflation, 1.2 Million; Lis's Company Around 4 Million"

- And how much, ladies and gentlemen, was earned in that very same TVP before? For example, Ms. Tadla, considering inflation – and one must consider inflation, because it amounted to about 50% over these 8 years, precisely 46% – earned 1.2 million zlotys. 800 thousand times 1.5 equals 1.2 million. Where are the differences you talk about here? And she certainly wasn't among those who earned the most, because, for instance, Mr. Lis earned a total, I believe, for his company, around 4 million. So, this number needs to be clearly increased again, and we must ask about his costs. There certainly were some, perhaps not small, but with absolute certainty, those earnings were significantly higher than those being discussed today. Fraud, misleading, breaking various kinds of rules, and above all, striving for this final outcome, that is, for Poland to essentially lose its independence – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

12:54

Kaczyński on Conversation with Matyszkowicz: It Was About Whether TVP Was Turned Off or Not

- It was like this, if this matter interests public opinion, because I'm not so very sure about that. Well, I just got home around that time and wanted to see what was on television. I saw there was no signal, I knew that at the same time, because we were together in Krakow, Marshal Terlecki returned. Yes, at 3 am, so I called Marshal Terlecki, and the Marshal confirmed to me that yes, indeed, there was no signal. Later, I called 2 more people, but they were asleep, they didn't answer the phone, and after a long consideration, I came to the conclusion that in this situation, one probably has to call the head of television. Although I know him incomparably less than President Kurski, whom I knew from his very young, and my relatively young years, but I know him a little bit already, and I took the risk, because it really wasn't the best social situation, but I took the risk and found out, and this made me very happy, that it turns out I don't have the right decoder and nothing else happened - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

- I actually told someone about this, and somehow it spread. It was about whether TVP was turned off or not. This does not imply any dependency, it's simply a question of whether something works or not, and any politician, or indeed any citizen, can ask such a question if they know someone - he continued.

12:55

Kaczyński:

The Whole Fairy Tale About 'Bosses on the Phone' Applies to Today's Situation. The Resemblance to the Martial Law Period is Striking

- The whole fairy tale about 'bosses on the phone' certainly applies to today's situation, because these are undoubtedly 'bosses on the phone,' people who have decided to break the law, to create a situation that provokes opposition among at least a very large part of the journalists, but also evokes contempt, deep contempt. Because here, the resemblance to the situation from the period of martial law is striking - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

13:01

Kaczyński:

Rulings Being Made Are Reminiscent of the Worst Communist Times

- Thank you very much for that question, because I haven't mentioned that specifically. Rulings are being made that are reminiscent of the worst times of communism. Contrary to various stories, including those from a very important gentleman, I participated in opposition activities from 1976, and from 1977, I was involved with the Intervention Bureau of KOR. We dealt with various abuses, including murders committed by the MO (PZPR's uniformed militia). Back then, there was a department in the Warsaw courts called the 'guard department,' where the most repulsive cases were handled. For instance, a family, through random circumstances, got into an argument with a policeman, was severely beaten by the militia, and then brought before the court for assaulting those policemen – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

- I will not go into details here. This department was headed by a woman who was also the First Secretary in all those courts located on Leszno Street. It so happened that roughly 20 years later, I saw this woman in a courtroom. It was during my case, where I was acquitted, as I had several criminal cases initiated against me at the time. In the second instance, she overturned that acquittal and sent it back for reconsideration. The case was eventually dismissed and had no further consequences. However, I was greatly astonished by her presence. And it might surprise you greatly when I asked Judge Strzembosz, whom I knew well then, perhaps very well, who this woman was. I learned that she not only remained in the judiciary but was also in charge of training; she was the head of training at that time – he continued.

13:05

Kaczyński on Kamiński and Wąsik: They Were Unlawfully Convicted for Fighting Corruption. Today's Authorities Do Not Want to Fight Corruption

- Both gentlemen [Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik] were convicted, and I have spoken about this in this chamber before, in a scandalous, completely unlawful manner, for fighting corruption. The current authorities do not want to fight corruption, because this is the authority of the Third Polish Republic system, a post-communist system, and one of the foundations of that system was precisely corruption, and that is why they were convicted - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

13:06

Kaczyński on Kamiński and Wąsik: They Have the Right to Participate in Sejm Sessions, the Pardon is Valid

- They have the right to participate in the Sejm sessions, and the pardon, which the President applied in certain special circumstances, is of course still valid. I hope that someday the people who committed these abuses will stand before a court and be punished with appropriate severity, because what they did is a very serious crime - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

13:08

Błaszczak:

I guarantee Tusk, Bodnar, Colonel Sienkiewicz, that the legal basis will find them, not the other way around

- This lawlessness is an assault on public media. I myself witnessed a security company entering the Polish Press Agency at 3 AM to take control of the PAP building. Colonel Sienkiewicz was delegated by Donald Tusk to take over public media using force. For the second time in history, the signal of Polish Television was cut off - stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

- I guarantee Mr. Tusk, Bodnar, and Colonel Sienkiewicz that the legal basis will find them, not the other way around. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but justice will certainly prevail - he added.

13:10

Kaczyński:

I Know Nothing About Any Kozakiewicz Gesture

- I know nothing about any Kozakiewicz gesture. Meaning, I know what the Kozakiewicz gesture is and I perfectly remember that beautiful moment that brought joy not only to Poland but to a large part of the world, but I haven't seen that gesture and I think it's simply some element of, I'll call it very gently and elegantly, manipulation - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

13:10

Błaszczak:

We Invite All Free Poles to Come on January 11th to the Sejm at 4 PM to Express Their Protest Against Constitutional Violations

- We invite all free Poles to come on January 11th to the Polish Parliament (Sejm) at 4 PM to express their protest against the practices of violating the constitution, violating the law, to express their protest against all these illegal actions that we are witnessing from the coalition of December 13th - stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

13:11

Kaczyński to Journalists: What's Happening in Poland is Indefensible. You're Paid to Defend It. I Truly Offer My Deepest Sympathies
I know one thing. You are in a hopeless situation. What's happening in Poland is indefensible. You are, so to speak, paid to defend it. I truly offer you my deepest sympathies - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

14:06

Budka:

Another Piece of Good News. Kałuża Removed
Another piece of good news. Wojciech Kałuża – a symbol of the worst in PiS – removed from the JSW S.A. management board. – wrote the head of the State Treasury Treasury, Borys Budka, on Twitter.

14:24

Tusk:

What We've Been Waiting For Are Changes in the State Forests. Witold Kos Will Be the New Director
- What we've been waiting for are changes in the State Forests. Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska has announced that a decision has been made regarding changes in the State Forests. The new Director General of the State Forests will be Mr. Witold Kos, a well-known forester from the West Pomeranian region, formerly a regional director [...]. The current Mr. Józef Kubica, known from elsewhere, primarily a specialist in politicizing the State Forests on a scale unprecedented in the history of forestry across Europe, will be dismissed within these few days as a member of the provincial assembly - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

14:26

Tusk:

Kałuża's Dismissal as JSW Vice-President Symbolically Ends Grim Era of Partisan Takeover of Everything Possible
- These personnel changes are, of course, one of the significant elements of all ministers' actions. Here, entering the hall, just a moment ago, I heard about changes in the management board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. I mention this fact because it has a symbolic dimension. Mr. Wojciech Kałuża has just been dismissed from his position as Vice-President of JSW's Management Board. This Mr. Kałuża, and it seems to me, this symbolically ends that grim stage of politicizing everything that could be politicized and the low ethical standards of these actions - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.

14:26

Tusk:

On January 13th, I will be in Gdańsk for the fifth anniversary of President Adamowicz's assassination
- On January 13th, I will be in Gdańsk together with the residents of Gdańsk and the Tricity, I think many of you will come from Poland. There we will commemorate the fifth, tragic anniversary of President Adamowicz's assassination. We will all want – I spoke about this with Madam President Aleksandra Dulkiewicz – that the memory of Paweł Adamowicz's assassination serves as an inspiration moving forward – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. - Not just a tribute to the deceased president, but perhaps above all – he himself would certainly want this – we would like for all of Poland to believe anew on January 13th that public media can be for informing, educating, and disseminating knowledge, and not for persecuting people or promoting the ruling party – he continued.

14:27

Tusk:

Kaczyński Cannot Accept a Situation Where TVP Isn't at His Beck and Call
- This is not maliciousness on my part - I know that President Kaczyński cannot accept this situation, where public television is not at his beck and call, or that of his party companions. They truly did exactly everything they wanted there and found very obedient executors - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

14:34

Tusk Directly Asks President Duda: What Prompted You to Award Pietrzak, Who Has Voiced Such Opinions for Years, the Highest State Honour?
- What Mr. Pietrzak said on Telewizja Republika is morally, legally, and politically unacceptable. [...] This must be placed alongside what happened in the Sejm involving Mr. Braun. But listen, let's not deceive ourselves, I will directly ask President Andrzej Duda here - what prompted him to award Mr. Pietrzak, who has been presenting such statements for years, with the highest state honour? - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference. - This is not an accident at work, it's not as if Mr. Pietrzak suddenly went mad or became an antisemite overnight or a person with such extremely aggressive views. He has been presenting this exact way of thinking for years. [...] It was not only tolerated by the authorities, it was rewarded by the authorities. This highest honour for Mr. Pietrzak, which he received from the hands of President Duda, is its most spectacular illustration - he continued.

14:35

Tusk on KZN: Over 40 Companies Established, Salary Fund Increased by Nearly 500%, One Block of 40 Apartments Built
- I also received information at the Council of Ministers meeting [...] about completely unprecedented situations in institutions such as the National Property Stock (Krajowy Zasób Nieruchomości). Minister Pełczyńska-Nałęcz has already informed the public, and also informed me, the Minister of Justice, and the Prosecutor General in detail about strange practices - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference. - Perhaps the scale is different, but it resembles the situation with public media, with public television. Over 40 companies were established, the program was supposed to be housing construction primarily for young people. What is the result of several years of this institution's activity? Certainly, an increase in the salary fund for those managing this institution, and on a truly impressive scale; over a few years, the growth of the salary fund for those running this institution is nearly 500% - he continued. - They built one block of 40 apartments, but in return, dozens of companies with dozens of supervisory boards were created. The award fund alone was exceeded by 700,000 zlotys - he added.

14:42

Tusk:

Star turn on TVP Info, no-confidence vote, millionaire's march. Kaczyński is lost, I am satisfied
- Kaczyński has to do something, a star turn on TVP Info, now a no-confidence vote, a millionaire's march on January 11. He is lost, of course I am satisfied because I have unsettled him a little, but I think it's a comprehensible situation. It seems that these ideas and initiatives and, if I understand correctly, also these strange statements during today's press conference show that Jarosław Kaczyński is not a prospect for exiting the crisis for Law and Justice, and I think everyone sees this more and more clearly every day - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

14:49

Tusk Announces "Most Probable" Date for Local Elections

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced at a press conference that the dates of April 7th and April 21st, for the first and second rounds of local elections respectively, "seem to be the most probable."

14:55

Tusk:

If it were solely up to me, I'd gladly contest local elections as the October 15th Coalition. But I won't impose anything.
- As the Prime Minister of the October 15th Coalition government, I am convinced that it would be good to show that we are a single, cohesive, large, and united team, and if it were solely up to me, I would gladly run as such a front, meaning as the October 15th Coalition - Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated at a press conference. - However, these are local elections, [...] so I will understand if our partners decide to run independently, I'm referring to the Third Way or The Left. [...] There are 'pros' and 'cons', and it indeed looks different in various voivodeships. I certainly will not impose anything - he emphasized.

15:10

Tusk:

We'll be ready with a draft of the new media law in January
- Regarding the final media law, I can only reiterate this offer, also addressed to President Duda - it's worth considering how to rebuild public media with a good law as well. This is not an easy task and requires goodwill - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference. - I discussed this with our ministers, including Minister Sienkiewicz, Marshal Hołownia, and Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, and we will certainly be ready with such an initiative in January. Perhaps it will be advisable to establish an extraordinary committee in the Sejm - he announced.

15:14

Tusk to Kaczyński: It's Over, Jarosław, and It Will Never Return – This Model of Governing Poland and Poles
- We are dealing with people who, according to a court ruling, have impermissibly abused their power to the detriment of people, Wąsik and Kamiński. And we have a man who has just ruled Poland and says that judges who dared to punish his colleagues, who clearly abused their power, harming people in this way, must be punished. A clearer definition of Jarosław Kaczyński's mindset cannot be built than by himself, when he speaks about himself - Donald Tusk said at a press conference. - I have no doubt that Kaczyński would like to decide what is good and what is bad, what is legal and what is illegal, who to punish and who to pardon, always himself and his party elite. This is undoubtedly his ideal model of governing the state. I have a message for him: It's over, Jarosław, and it will never return – this model of governing Poland and Poles by a person who imagines the rule of law this way [...]. There is no force that could turn Poland back towards these fatal imaginations that Kaczyński has in his head - he continued.

15:19

Tusk:

The Timing of Presenting a Sejm Resolution on the Constitutional Tribunal is Yet to be Decided
- The question of when we will present a Sejm resolution concerning the Constitutional Tribunal is yet to be decided, because our intention is to fix the situation, not to add fuel to the fire. […] I ask for a moment of patience. Minister Bodnar will certainly present you with this course of action, including regarding the CT, this week - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

15:45

Tusk:

No Agreement on Any Forced Relocation Mechanism for Migrants. We Will Not Accept Any Migrants
- For years, even when I was President of the European Council, I was strongly against this so-called forced solidarity. Among other reasons, because I was President of the European Council, this mechanism was never implemented, and Poland will never be part of such a mechanism - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference. - I would like for everyone to remember what we have dealt with in recent years: tens and hundreds of thousands of migrants who were admitted here, partly through a corrupt mechanism concerning the issuance of Polish visas. That was a real problem. The end of that era, the era of PiS and Kaczyński's rule, also means significantly greater security, including in terms of the uncontrolled influx of migrants, including migrants posing as legal ones, thanks to this nightmarish visa mechanism that PiS imposed on Poland - he continued. - Regarding the Polish government's position in the European Union - there will be no agreement, no acceptance from us for any forced mechanism [for migrant relocation], and I want to assure you that Poland will not accept illegal migrants within the framework of any such mechanism. We will not accept any migrants - the Prime Minister declared.

President's Bill Removed from Committee Agenda. MPs to Consider Only Government's Supplementary Budget Bill

The Public Finance Committee will not consider the supplementary budget bill for this year prepared by President Duda. This decision was made by MPs with a vote of 23 to 14, following a motion by Tomasz Trela. This means the committee will exclusively focus on the government's draft supplementary budget bill for 2024.

- *Today, I absolutely cannot find any justification to deal with a caricature of a supplementary budget bill authored by Andrzej Duda, which is dictated solely by political aspects. There is no substantive aspect or value here, and I propose that we, as a committee, focus on only one bill,* - said the Lewica MP during the deliberations.

Grodzki:

Indictment is the last gasp of Ziobro's prosecution

30 people have been charged with corruption at the Prof. Alfred Sokołowski Specialist Hospital in Szczecin. According to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, within the facility, surgical obesity treatments were performed out of turn in exchange for bribes of PLN 10,000. The money was allegedly channeled to doctors through the Transplantology Assistance Foundation in Szczecin. The scheme reportedly ran from 2008 to 2019, and its initiator was allegedly the Marshal of the Senate of the previous term, Tomasz Grodzki – the then-director of the hospital, as well as the founder of the foundation. He was not included in the indictment due to his immunity.

- I am not familiar with the indictment, the content of the indictment, but based on what the spokesperson for the Szczecin prosecution – one of Mr. Ziobro’s favorite prosecutor’s offices – has said, and listening to the nonsense he’s spouting, I have the impression that these are the last gasps of Ziobro’s prosecution, which has been hunting me for four years because I represented the Senate, which was a thorn in the side of the PiS government. At the same time, I regret that this type of repression is affecting 30 wonderful doctors, innocent people, simply because they cooperated with me – stated Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with TVN24.

- There is no mention of any corruption there. It mentions that the hospital received funds from the foundation – which is not a hospital foundation, but a city one, with branches in several cities – and that these funds were used for purchasing equipment, for training doctors, just as many foundations do in Poland. No one took any money directly; it wasn't even paid into the hospital, but rather into the foundation's account, according to my deep knowledge, entirely voluntarily – he continued.

- I will not be surprised if the court either sends back this bizarre indictment or doesn't want to consider it at all – the senator concluded.

Ignaczak-Bandych:

If Wąsik and Kamiński are Imprisoned, We Will Treat Them as Political Prisoners

- I don't know where it comes from or why information is being spread that President Andrzej Duda will yield, that he will sign a pardon for Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński a second time - Grażyna Ignaczak-Bandych wrote on Twitter.

- We are not considering such a possibility. It's like signing a contract twice; it's a denial of one's own competencies. If Maciej Wąsik and Mariusz Kamiński are imprisoned, we will treat them as political prisoners, because without a doubt, we are dealing with political revenge - added the head of the Presidential Chancellery.

Arłukowicz on the Grodzki Case: I Don't Believe in the Prosecutor's Office's Diligence and Honesty
- I certainly do not believe in the diligence and such honesty of the prosecutor's office, which in recent years has proven that it is highly politicized, that it acts on political orders, and that is the main reason for my disbelief – said Bartosz Arłukowicz in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News, when asked about the case of Tomasz Grodzki. - Today I spoke with Marshal Grodzki, among other things, on this topic as well. Legal procedures related to the prosecutor's request are ongoing, which, as Marshal Grodzki informed me, lawyers still need to analyze – he continued, when asked whether Tomasz Grodzki should relinquish his immunity.

Arłukowicz:

MP Filiks Repeatedly Stated that the Prosecutor's Actions Were at Least Strange, and I Am Being Very Gentle in Describing This Behavior
- This government has been in office for two weeks, and the matter we are discussing happened many months ago. MP Filiks has repeatedly stated publicly that the prosecutor's actions are at least strange to her, and I am being very gentle in my description of these prosecutorial actions. For many months, the prosecutor's office, and I know this from MP Filiks, has been dealing with MP Filiks's family - said Bartosz Arłukowicz on Polsat News.

Arłukowicz on Kaczyński's Conference: At Times I Felt Like I Was Listening to Gomułka
- At times I felt like I was listening to Gomułka, really, President Kaczyński is already in some completely detached world. I understand that he adheres to the principle that if he hasn't seen something, it doesn't exist in the world, because he said that he didn't see Kamiński's "Kozakiewicz gesture," therefore it was manipulation. I understand that if he didn't see thunder during a storm, he would also call thunder manipulation - said Bartosz Arłukowicz in Polsat News, referring to Jarosław Kaczyński's statements at a press conference. - He is surrounded by people who have decided to enrich themselves from public assets and have created an alternative world for him, the "world according to Jarosław Kaczyński" - he continued.

Arłukowicz:

Effectiveness Matters, and We Effectively Wanted to Stop the Hate Flowing from Pseudo-Television
- Effectiveness matters, and we effectively wanted to stop the hate flowing from that pseudo-television, formerly pseudo-television, and we will build a state-owned, pro-state television where there will be journalists who speak the truth, where there will be no hate on demand [...]. Of course, I am talking about real public television, and I want to be understood well: public television should serve public truth - said Bartosz Arłukowicz on Polsat News.

Siewiera on the Russian Missile: I Cannot Rule Out That it Was a Provocation
- We have sufficient knowledge to confirm that this missile originated from Russian systems, was visible on our radar stations, and left Polish territory. […] The flight trajectory indicated that it would leave the territory of the Republic of Poland - Jacek Siewiera said in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - It is difficult to assume that crossing 40 kilometers from the border of the Republic of Poland was accidental. This type of trajectory violates airspace in a very significant way. […] I cannot rule this out [that it was a Russian provocation]. Allies also do not rule this out - stated the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN).

Arłukowicz:

I Saw Kamiński's Pride and Arrogance in the Sejm Chamber. This Will All End Soon
- People who have a legally binding verdict must respect that verdict [...]. I saw Kamiński in the Sejm chamber, unlike Kaczyński, I saw him and I saw the Kozakiewicz gesture and that pride and arrogance in his eyes. This will all end soon - said Bartosz Arłukowicz in Polsat News, when asked if MPs Kamiński and Wąsik should go to prison. - I am far from judging the Marshal's decision. He is the most important person in the Polish Sejm and has the right to make the decisions he deems best - he continued, when pressed on whether Szymon Hołownia made a mistake by allowing Kamiński and Wąsik to enter the Sejm chamber.

Siewiera:

The Kremlin is aware a new administration is taking power in Poland. This is why the risk of testing is high
- The administration in the Kremlin is aware that today, at a very difficult moment in Poland, an administration that has not held power for 8 years is taking over. The political factor in the new administration must enter into its duties, get to know these duties. Understand the weight of decisions associated with exercising functions, including political oversight, and appropriately redistribute powers, also to the military side. This is a process, a change of a certain culture - said Jacek Siewiera in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24. - This is a personnel change. Suffice it to say that for exercises conducted just half a year ago, if they were to be carried out today, there would not be a single familiar face. Not only ministers, but also the Chief of the General Staff and heads of services. Because of this, the risk of testing is high - he continued.
