Nowacka:

The First Action of Every Minister Will Be a Thorough Audit of the Previous Government's Actions
- We don't know the state in which PiS is leaving the country. We see certain symptoms, we have signals, also from within, about the situation in various institutions and units, how they treated public funds, what kind of severance packages they were preparing. But we will only see it from today onwards. Therefore, the first action that every minister will take is a thorough audit of the previous government's actions - said Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24.

08:03

Nowacka:

Tusk Offered Me the Ministry of Education
- Yes. The offer was for the Ministry of Education - Barbara Nowacka stated in the "Piasecki Interview" on TVN24 when asked if it was Donald Tusk who offered her the position of head of the education ministry.

08:11

Nowacka:

I wouldn't want schools influenced by party politics. It's not a minister's role to conduct indoctrination
- Polish schools in general should not make sharp turns. The problem with Minister Czarnek wasn't who he is – and as for who he is, everyone in the Sejm sees it and is a bit ashamed – but rather that he transferred his personal views onto how he wanted the school to function. That is unacceptable – said Barbara Nowacka in "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24. - I wouldn't want schools to be influenced by party politics. It is a great shame when the freedom of teachers, school principals, and students is limited. […] Of course, everyone has their own views and doesn't deviate from them, but it is not a minister's role to conduct indoctrination, as Minister Czarnek did – she continued.

08:28

Nowacka:

I Wouldn't Grade Homework in Grades 1-3 at All – That's the Model I'll Strive For
- I believe that to a large extent the amount of homework that children have today – elementary school children, because that's who we're talking about in our program – yes, it can sometimes be absurd. This doesn't mean that 100% of home learning should be eliminated altogether – said Barbara Nowacka in the "Piasecki's Interview" on TVN24. - We need to approach homework calmly. Absurd homework, excessively burdening students, should not exist. […] I would like to consider with specialists, educators, methodologists, to what extent homework should be drastically reduced. In grades 1-3, I would not grade homework at all, and that's the model I will strive for – she continued.

08:32

Nowacka:

I Propose Limiting Religion Classes to One Hour Funded by the State Budget
- Two hours of religion classes is an exaggeration, because children have more religion than other subjects. That is why my proposal will involve limiting religion classes to one hour funded by the state budget. If there is a decision by the local government, or parents, that they would want more hours, it will be their decision, including a financial decision - said Barbara Nowacka in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - However, such a proposal to limit religion classes initially to one hour, I think there will be broad agreement for this, to bring it about so that it is the first or last lesson, and that grades from religion are not counted towards the average on certificates and do not appear on certificates at all, is what I will declare for today, that we will sit down to work in the first few days - she announced.

08:34

Tusk Asked About Cooperation with the President: One Must Be Optimistic. I Hope We Have a Common Goal, Even If Our Paths and Experiences Differ

- No, one must be optimistic. I hope we have a common goal, even if our paths and experiences differ, sometimes very much so, but I think no one should doubt that when you are president or prime minister, you must serve Poland and really nothing else should matter. Yes, I hope everything will be alright - stated Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists.

08:44

Nowacka on Braun Incident: Deputy Marshal Bosak Completely Failed, Should Reflect
- He completely failed [Deputy Marshal Krzysztof Bosak in the face of the incident involving Grzegorz Braun], so perhaps he himself should engage in deep reflection – whether he failed because he didn't want to, or because he couldn't. He failed in the parliamentary chamber, while conducting proceedings, or he didn't want to manage the scandalous, reprehensible behaviour that brings shame not only to the Sejm but also to the Republic - said Barbara Nowacka in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:56

Kobosko:

A Cynical Political Game Has Begun in PiS, How to Use Braun's Behavior and Blame the Marshal of the Sejm

- Jarosław Kaczyński is trying to mix everything together. This is a traditional tactic for this purpose. Unfortunately, it sounds like a kind of cynical, but defensive, approach towards Grzegorz Braun - stated Michał Kobosko in a conversation with Grzegorz Kępka on the Polsat News program “Graffiti”.

- It was something nice, put simply, that politicians, regardless of their views, could unite in the face of such a shocking event. Only that lasted a few minutes, and then a cynical political game began in PiS, about how to use Braun's behavior, and in this case, such a bizarre, scandalous idea, to shift responsibility for what one person, who appeared unbalanced in her behavior, did onto the Marshal of the Sejm - he added.

08:56

Gawkowski:

I Already Know Some Deputy Ministers for My Ministry; Final Consultations Today

- I already know some deputy ministers for my ministry; final consultations on this matter will take place today. In the security ministries, it will happen today, as it's the first step concerning changes in the services, and in some ministries, secretaries of state, meaning MPs who will join. The next step will be after Donald Tusk's return, likely on Monday - Krzysztof Gawkowski stated in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.

08:57

Kobosko on Kaczyński: He Cannot Come to Terms with What Happened During the Elections. They Are Looking for Culprits Everywhere, But the Blame Lies with Just One Person

- Another scandalous statement from Jarosław Kaczyński within these two days. I personally perceive it as a sign of a certain powerlessness, a certain helplessness, an inability to come to terms with defeat. This is Jarosław Kaczyński's personal defeat. What happened in the elections. He simply cannot live through it, cannot understand it, and is lashing out left and right, looking for culprits everywhere, while the blame lies with only one, sole person in this case, Jarosław Kaczyński, who lacks the civil courage to admit it - stated Michał Kobosko on Polsat News.

08:57

Kobosko:

I would expect some consequences for Kaczyński

- I would expect some consequences for Jarosław Kaczyński, who the day before yesterday accused the current Prime Minister of the Republic of being a traitor to his homeland, an agent of the German state - stated Michał Kobosko on Polsat News.

- If I were personally accused of being an agent, or accused of betraying my country, I would not let it slide. What is a more serious accusation in politics and public life? - he added.

08:58

Gawkowski:

Some of Braun's colleagues are ashamed of him, but haven't decided what to do yet

- The scandalous and disgraceful behavior of MP Braun, what can be said is a huge condemnation and shame on the whole world that an MP of the Republic of Poland engages in such behavior. The penalties provided for in the Sejm regulations are not enough. If MP Braun could be excluded in some regulatory way from several Sejm sessions, even just that, I think it would be a greater punishment - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

- I think some of Grzegorz Braun's colleagues are ashamed of him, but they haven't decided what to do yet. If they were to make this decision rationally, they should expel him - he added.

08:58

Kobosko on Bosak's Removal as Deputy Speaker: I Don't Know if This is the Punishment That Should Be Applied Here

- We can indeed wonder about his reaction as Deputy Speaker [Krzysztof Bosak], who is a Deputy Speaker for the first time. I don't know if this is the punishment that should be applied here. I believe, and have believed from the beginning, that there is a place for Konfederacja in the Sejm Presidium, and there is also a place for Law and Justice - stated Michał Kobosko in Polsat News.

08:58

Kobosko:

Konfederacja's Handling of the Braun Affair Will Be a Major Test of Their Responsibility

- For us, what Konfederacja's authorities do with the Braun affair will be a huge test of their responsibility [...] It would be quite understandable and quite obvious for us if Konfederacja removed Grzegorz Braun from their club – stated Michał Kobosko on Polsat News.

09:26

President Appoints Tusk as Prime Minister

Just after 9:00 AM, the ceremony for appointing Donald Tusk as Prime Minister, along with the entire Council of Ministers, began at the Presidential Palace.

09:55

Duda:

With a Great Turnout, a Decision Was Reached Granting Victory to One Group, but the Political Process Ended in the Triumph of Another Political Faction
- A very peculiar situation, we haven't had anything like it since '89 in Poland. With a wonderful, high turnout, which I think we all dreamed of, and which became a reality, for which we are grateful to our compatriots for taking responsibility into their own hands, going to the polls, an electoral decision was made that gave victory to one grouping, but in essence, an electoral victory, and only electoral, because it showed that the political process resulting from the elections in essence concluded today with the victory of another political group, another part of the political scene - stated President Andrzej Duda during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace. - This is truly a great achievement on your part. I congratulate you on this. First and foremost, I congratulate you on your determination and decisiveness, firstly to fight in the elections, secondly to achieve the best possible result, but above all, to take responsibility for Polish affairs into your own hands - he continued.

09:59

President Announces National Security Council Meeting

- I would like them to be conducted in this way, which is why I am informing you in advance that next Wednesday I would like the National Security Council to convene here, so that we can sit down and discuss Poland's security situation, as we have done before, albeit with a different configuration of the executive branch now. But let's continue this formula of cooperation, which in my opinion is very good and beneficial for Poland - stated President Andrzej Duda during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

10:00

Duda:

I will certainly not oppose or block anything that serves the good of citizens and the endurance of the Republic of Poland
I can assure you that I will certainly not oppose or block anything that serves the good of citizens and the endurance of the Republic of Poland. All you have to do is come here, to the Presidential Palace, sit down, and talk about what you want to implement. I assure you that there will always be time for this in my calendar – stated President Andrzej Duda during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

10:02

Duda:

I Assure You of My Willingness to Cooperate

- I assure you of this willingness to cooperate and I ask that you take my words very seriously, because I greatly care that all these commitments we are undertaking are realized as best as possible for Poles and for Poland. I believe that Polish affairs are in very good condition today. Of course, there are areas where they could be better, and I hope that you will be able to improve and fix the situation in those areas where it can be better - stated President Andrzej Duda during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

10:05

Duda:

We are immensely, extraordinarily fortunate to have lived for 34 years in a free, sovereign, independent Poland, where we decide for ourselves.

- I wish you success in fulfilling the affairs of the Republic of Poland, your mission, and also the commitments you have undertaken towards your voters. In a sense, a new, subsequent chapter is beginning in the history of sovereign, independent Poland. We are truly immensely fortunate, extraordinarily fortunate, to have lived for 34 years in a free, sovereign, independent Poland, where we decide for ourselves. Generations before us did not have this for such a long time and often had to fight bloodily just to regain their homeland. May the durability of the homeland, its prosperity, and that of its citizens always be for us truly the highest imperative and the foundation from which we proceed in our actions - stated President Andrzej Duda during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

10:22

Tusk:

Loyalty to Constitutional Provisions Will Be the Hallmark of the New Government

- Mr. President, I was moved when you recalled the words of the oath, the oath we took before you today. Yes, it is obvious, the good of the homeland and the welfare of citizens, but I also want to say that loyalty to the provisions of the constitution will be the hallmark of this team, of this new government. In recent days, we all feel as if the fashion for the word 'constitution' has returned. Our common task is to ensure that it is not a fashion for words, but a fashion for the constitution, and it will certainly not pass, and I can promise you that, Mr. President - stated Donald Tusk during the ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

BGK on Energy Transition and 3W at COP28 in Dubai
PARTNERSHIP TEXT Representatives of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) were present at the most important climate conference of the year, held under the auspices of the UN – COP28 in Dubai. This nearly two-week event brought together world leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the globe. Every year, COP participants gather to define plans for climate protection actions. One of the key resolutions of this year's summit is the establishment of principles for the Loss and Damage Fund, which is intended to support developing countries affected by the impacts of climate change. 118 countries committed to tripling global renewable energy production by 2030, while Poland adopted a declaration to triple its nuclear energy generation capacity by 2050. Our bank plays a key role in financing the energy transition in Poland and the region. BGK was represented in Dubai by its President – Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, board members Radosław Kwiecień and Marek Tomczuk, Adrian Malinowski, Managing Director of the Foreign Affairs division, and the 3W team. Several days in the UAE were filled with meetings, discussions, and participation in events accompanying the main event. BGK representatives:
  • met with H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyudi – Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the UAE Ministry of Economy – discussing trade cooperation, investments, opportunities for collaboration, and potential further economic engagement of the UAE in Poland and the Three Seas region.
  • met with Khalifa Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of ADFD at the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development – the conversation focused on investment cooperation for projects in Poland, in the Three Seas region, as well as the potential for cooperation on projects in Africa and Asia.
  • met with Dr. Tarifa Al Zaabi – Director General and Dr. Charbel Tarraf – Chief Operations and Development at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, with whom BGK's involvement in sustainable development projects and opportunities for cooperation in the 3W area with ICBA and other agencies under H.E. Mariam Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, were discussed.
  • participated in the inauguration of Masdar's investment in 8 projects from the Polish company Domrel. These are photovoltaic and onshore wind farm projects with a capacity exceeding 1 GW, which will power over 223,000 households in Greater Poland and reduce CO2 emissions by 1.8 million tons annually.
  • additionally met with representatives of companies and institutions, such as:
    • Thomas Rebermark – Director, Swedish Water House – discussion on engagement in the 3W platform and potential cooperation in the Blue Deal policy.
    • Kai Rintala – Managing Director, Stephen Butler – Investment Director – TAALERI Energia.
    • Mohammad Abdelqader El Ramahi – Chief Green Hydrogen Officer, Andreas Bieringer Business Development & Commercial Masdar Green Hydrogen; Florian Merz – Head of Business Development; Amalia Giannakukou – Head of Development and Investment.
The guiding theme of BGK's presence at COP28 was the 3W stand. It served as a platform for meetings and discussions for guests from around the world on how the development of technologies based on three resources – water, hydrogen, and carbon – contributes to the energy transition and thus to the fight against climate change. The discussion titled "3W: A Gateway to Sustainable Business in Europe" was opened by Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, who stated: "The direction of the energy transition remains unchanged. Abandoning coal while simultaneously meeting all energy needs is a huge challenge. As Orison Swett Marden said: 'Do not wait for extraordinary circumstances. Seize common opportunities and make them great.'" Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka also participated in a panel organized by the think-tank Atlantic Council titled 'Laying the Groundwork: Energy corridors of the future.' Marek Tomczuk, in turn, took part in a panel discussion organized in the Bulgarian Pavilion – 'Transition finance: policy trends and instruments.'

Tusk Publishes First Photo from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister

Donald Tusk has commenced his duties as Prime Minister and published a photo on social media showing him signing the first documents.

12:00

Hołownia:

If Konfederacja Decides Braun Remains in Their Ranks, Their Representative Shouldn't Be in the Sejm Presidium
I know from Marshal Bosak that these consultations within Konfederacja will continue today; they are constantly consulting and talking with each other. I have a very firm opinion on this matter. I, personally, have not yet consulted this with my political force, Poland 2050. However, if Konfederacja decides that Mr. Braun will still have a place in their ranks, then there should be no place for a Konfederacja representative with Mr. Braun on board in the Sejm Presidium. A motion on this matter will be voted on during this session, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday, we'll see how the schedule unfolds – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing.

12:14

Sikorski:

I Will Dedicate Every Hour to Serving the Republic of Poland, as per My Oath

- I will ensure every minute that apoliticism and professionalism return to [diplomacy]. I will dedicate every hour to serving the Republic of Poland, as per the oath I have just taken – stated Radosław Sikorski in a conversation with journalists.

- The first personnel decisions, the appointment of deputy ministers, a new Director-General. Shortly, the special services collegium, difficult budgetary decisions, supporting the Prime Minister in his trip to Brussels – he continued.

12:17

Sienkiewicz Names Deputy Ministers of Culture

I am awaiting the arrival of nominations for Undersecretaries of State from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister – Ms. Bożena Żelazowska and Ms. Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus. These are the primary organizational tasks in the coming days. Generally, in line with what I stated today, with the oath I took today opposite the Presidential Palace, I will act for the good of culture, for the good of Polish men and women, so that we can all benefit from the most precious national asset, which is culture – stated Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in a conversation with journalists.

12:27

Kidawa-Błońska:

What Happened Yesterday Tarnished Our Country's Image, But I Hope the Formation of a New Government Will Force Us to Start Respecting Each Other

- Today is an exceptional day. We have a new government, and I hope this marks the beginning of a good time for our country. The beginning of good changes, the beginning of normality, people's respect for each other, solidarity. And I hope that after what happened yesterday in the Sejm. After this act of boorishness, intolerance, destruction of values, disruption of guests' participation in the ceremony in the Sejm. Because guests came to the Polish Sejm for a ceremony that speaks of peace, cooperation, and joy. This was done in such an insolent, brutal way, it not only disrupted the ceremony for people but also disrupted their lives, so the Senate and all of us senators strongly condemn such behavior and believe there is no place for such behavior in Parliament – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in the Senate.

- What happened tarnished our country's image, showed that there is still tolerance for this in Poland. And I hope that today, from what we started with, the formation of a new government, will force us to start respecting each other – she added.

12:35

Nowacka Announces Changes: No Homework for Holidays and Reforms in Regional Education Inspectorates
- We will be carefully examining the curricula, which I know needs streamlining. Therefore, I am counting on cooperation with the department staff responsible for the curriculum so that we can lighten the load of the curricula at a fairly rapid pace. Homework is an important issue for us. As Civic Coalition, we declared that we would move away from homework, and of course, a revolution is impossible and I assure teachers that this will not happen overnight, but using this opportunity, on this day, I would like to sincerely appeal to all teachers, especially in primary schools, that this year, for the upcoming holidays, they also give children a break from homework. I think this is a good beginning, a good start, and a good breath of fresh air - stated Barbara Nowacka during a press conference. - The school must be detached from political parties. It must be an apolitical place, where young people naturally engage in discussions that may touch upon politics, but party officials should not dictate how the school operates. Therefore, urgent changes will be made in the regional education inspectorates, and I kindly inform all individuals currently holding these inspectorate positions. This change will happen very quickly, in the coming days - she added.

12:36

Nowacka:

Teacher Salary Increases Will Be Delayed
- The salary increases will take effect from January 1st, however, they won't manage to reach teachers' pockets on January 1st because the budget will be passed with some delay, we're assuming sometime in February, but of course, it will be with retroactive effect - stated Barbara Nowacka during a press conference.

13:33

Leszczyna:

During the pandemic, we incurred a massive health debt, and it's time to start repaying it
- During the pandemic, during COVID, we incurred such a massive health debt, and it's time to start repaying this debt. Certainly, all my decisions, all decisions that will come from this ministry, will serve patients. First, of course, they must serve the good organization of work for doctors, nurses, paramedics, and all medical professions - said Izabela Leszczyna at a press conference.

13:34

Leszczyna:

Today I have meetings with the former Deputy Minister of Health, the head of NFZ, and the president of NIL
- In a moment I have a meeting with the former deputy minister, Mr. Maciej Miłkowski, because all deputy ministers submitted their resignations yesterday, which is why there is no leadership today, I am here alone, but the minister was responsible enough to be here and is waiting for me to meet him. I will want to talk about vaccines, I will want to talk about the epidemic situation. Today I also have a scheduled meeting with the head of the National Health Fund, [...] then with the president of the Supreme Medical Council - said Izabela Leszczyna at a press conference.

13:39

Leszczyna on First Decisions: Meeting with Infectious Diseases Consultant, Establishment of Epidemic Situation Monitoring Team
- One of the first decisions will be a meeting with the national consultant for infectious diseases, and I also want to establish a team that will continuously monitor the epidemic situation. Primarily, in addition to monitoring and appropriate reactions, it will also disseminate this information to Poles, through you [the media], but also via our website, so that we all know where we stand, what we should be afraid of, and how we should behave – said Izabela Leszczyna at a press conference.

14:19

Confederation Makes Decision on Braun
- At the Confederation club meeting, I submitted a motion to punish Grzegorz Braun with suspension of his club membership rights and a ban from speaking at the Sejm rostrum. The club imposed the requested penalties - Sławomir Mentzen informed on Twitter. - Who will be a member of our club will be decided exclusively by the Confederation club. We will not be blackmailed by anyone on this matter, even if the stake is a place in the Sejm presidium for Krzysztof Bosak - he stipulated.

14:35

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Differences Cannot Obscure Our Greatest Goal – a Free, Independent, and Secure Homeland
- We often repeated 3 main premises, 3 main arguments that speak about what needs to be done for Poland to be safe, for Poland to be strong, for Poland to be great, for Poland to be independent, sovereign. This is the most beautiful, the best of our dreams, that Poles, all of them, regardless of their views, worldview, regardless of who they voted for, should feel secure - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the handover of the Ministry of National Defence. - There are 3 values that I believe describe this well. The first is national community, to which we are bound, and which we must create. Differences cannot obscure, cannot overshadow this greatest goal, which is precisely a free, independent, secure homeland, a national community. We must rebuild it, we must build it - he added.

14:37

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Will Build the Strongest Position in Structures Guaranteeing National Security with All Our Might
- Strength in alliances means the European Union and NATO. I want to declare that with all our might and all our power, we will build the strongest position within the structures that guarantee our national security, which are part of this principle of creating alliances for security, whether economic and developmental, as is the European Union, or military, as is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the handover of the Ministry of National Defence. - I want to assure all our allies that we will always fulfill the commitments we have and have undertaken - he emphasized.

14:41

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Continuity in Armament and Polish Armed Forces Modernization is Crucial
- There are areas where continuity is necessary. One such, perhaps the most important, is the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces and armaments. Of course, every government has the right to outline its vision and directions, but in history, we have had experiences where contracts were broken. We also had experiences where time was lacking - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the handover of the Ministry of National Defence. - I am not judging today, as this is neither the place nor the time, but in principle, continuity in this area is extremely necessary. Every government has the right to make an assessment, and we will also use this right, but it is very important to find common ground, so that this common ground is not erased - he added.

15:21

Budka:

We want to meet with company authorities to have them present detailed plans for restructuring and spending funds requested in next year's budget

- We want to meet with company authorities in the near future, so they can present detailed plans regarding restructuring and the expenditure of funds they are requesting in next year's budget. The second element is, of course, notification and bringing the notification process to a conclusion, because I will remind you that regarding the notification of the entire social agreement, the one concerning mining, unfortunately, the previous government did not bring this notification to fruition. We are also at the stage of negotiations and notification of subsidies for Poczta Polska. Here, there is a preliminary confirmation from the European Commission, but the matter is being examined at the stage of Polish law, whether this letter is sufficient. Everything indicates that we will manage to bring this process to a successful conclusion - stated Borys Budka at a press conference.

15:33

Budka on Obajtek: I Expect a Swift Resignation. It Seems Obvious After His Declarations
- Such an announcement was made publicly [that Daniel Obajtek is ready to resign], so of course I expect and await such a move. Mr. President Obajtek clearly stated that he is a representative of a certain political camp, he feels connected to it, so at least appreciating this honesty, I would expect very swift appropriate steps to be taken, meaning a resignation. This seems like an obvious step after these declarations - stated Borys Budka at a press conference. - Daniel Obajtek has never hidden his connections and the fact that he is a representative of the political option departing today. It is probably commonly known to everyone that he held the position of Orlen's CEO solely because he was a representative of such an option - continued the minister of state assets. - There is also the issue of urgent clarification, at the Prime Minister's instruction, of matters related to the investment in SMRs, but it is the minister coordinator of special services who has been tasked with clarifying these matters. For my part, I am also available and we will also investigate this matter from the perspective of, of course, ownership supervision. Here, I will remind you that these are issues that are indirectly supervised, because it is a company created by a private entity [Synthos Green Energy - editorial note] and PKN Orlen - he added.

15:44

Budka Reveals Name of One Deputy Minister of State Assets
- Robert Kropiwnicki was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets by Prime Minister Donald Tusk today. Representatives of the remaining coalition partners will also be working with me […], but I intend to present these individuals, the entire leadership of the ministry, together next week – stated Borys Budka at a press conference. When asked about Zbigniew Ziejewski from PSL, he replied: Very good lead.

16:01

Budka:

There Will Be an Opening Report, But I Wouldn't Want to Impose a Single Deadline. As Soon as Possible.
- Of course, there will be an opening report. I wouldn't want to impose any deadlines. I received information from the outgoing minister, a very brief piece of information landed on my desk. We will, of course, investigate these matters […], this is such a vast ministry that there are many threads to show you here - stated Borys Budka at a press conference. - Perhaps we will present them piecemeal, perhaps it will be a whole report, but I wouldn't want to impose a single deadline. As soon as it's possible, in accordance with the Prime Minister Donald Tusk's directive, such opening reports will be issued - the Minister of State Assets continued.

16:04

Gramatyka on Special Services Committee Experts: Cenckiewicz Eliminated in Vote, Four Out of Six Names Approved
- I am convinced that the Prime Minister's decision to have such individuals [heading the services] be part of the ruling team, rather than inheriting them from predecessors, is correct. [...] The Chairman of the Council of Ministers must submit an appropriate motion, the special services college must convene, the motion must be reviewed by the special services committee, and the rest is in the hands of the President [to appoint new heads of services]. According to my information, the President has pledged to make such decisions without undue delay - said Michał Gramatyka at a press conference. - Mr. Cenckiewicz was eliminated in the vote, he did not gain the committee's approval, he will be, as it were, at the service of the entire committee, so the committee has the right to decide whom it wants and whom it does not want. [...] Out of the six names presented, we postponed the vote on one for formal reasons; he will probably be voted through at the next committee meeting. Mr. Cenckiewicz did not obtain a majority, the remaining four names were accepted by the committee - he continued, referring to the issue of special services committee experts.

17:22

Tusk in Brussels: 'I'm Very Happy to Be Here Again. Poland Has Returned to Europe.'

- I'm very happy to be here again. Poland has returned to Europe. For me, this is probably the most important moment in my political life. It wasn't easy, but for me, it's a very special moment because of the geopolitical context. I am a little sad that nothing has changed. The situation is even worse, especially when we talk about Ukraine and Russian aggression [simultaneous translation by TVN24] - stated Donald Tusk at a press briefing in Brussels.

17:39

Tusk:

All EU Institutions Know Poland is Experiencing a Renaissance of the Rule of Law
- Everything is on the right track. You have also observed our efforts from the first days after the elections, and one thing is certain - that all institutions know that Poland is currently experiencing a renaissance of the rule of law, and no one has any doubts about it - stated Donald Tusk at a press briefing in Brussels.

- I don't want to get ahead of myself before the meeting with the head of the Commission, but it seems we are on the final stretch to resolve this dilemma. [...] We have the laws ready, but of course, it's known that they will ultimately require the acceptance of President Duda, who was, however, one of the co-authors of the problem we have today to solve regarding European funds - stated Donald Tusk at a press briefing in Brussels. - I would say: 90% certain we can speed up this process to the extent that I will be able to tell you on Friday: we have it - he assessed.

Ukrainian Side Suggested Meeting with Zelensky for Tomorrow Morning
- The Ukrainian side approached us with a suggestion for a meeting, tomorrow morning. Technical details are still being finalized, but we must realize that I would be delighted to meet with President Zelensky […], however, due to the European Council session, if I understand correctly, there is no decision yet on how President Zelensky's presence here at the European Council will look. Therefore, I am not ready to give a precise, technical answer regarding where and when. But I have said that I am, of course, ready for this meeting, and perhaps it will take place tomorrow morning - stated Donald Tusk at a press briefing in Brussels.

I've Sent a Letter to Human Rights Coordinator Judges, Reminding Them of Judicial Independence Standards from ECHR and CJEU Rulings

Pursuant to the provisions of the Law on the Organization of Common Courts, we have such an institution of coordinator judges. The content of this letter is a reminder of the standards derived from the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the independence of the judiciary. Mastalerek:

The Nature of Cooperation Between the President and the Government Largely Depends on Tusk and the Government

- The President is consistent. Back in the 2020 elections, he extended his hand to Rafał Trzaskowski. He said: the campaign is over, let's shake hands. It's time to work for Poland. He did the same after the parliamentary elections. That was the message in his address to the Sejm at its first session, and that was the President's speech today. President Duda is characterized by consistency in his actions. The nature of cooperation between the President and the government will largely depend on Donald Tusk and the government. I think sometimes it will be better, sometimes worse. Cooperation will be better with some, worse with others – stated Marcin Mastalerek in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

Bodnar:

I Asked the National Prosecutor for Information on What the Prosecution Did Regarding Yesterday's Incident Involving Braun
- I asked the National Prosecutor, Dariusz Barski, for information on what the prosecution has done regarding what Grzegorz Braun did yesterday in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. […] I asked for this answer by 8:00 PM, but I also requested that by tomorrow he present me with a list of all cases concerning Grzegorz Braun that have been ongoing recently. We are well aware that yesterday's disgraceful incident was not the only incident involving MP Grzegorz Braun - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference.

The Positions of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Should Be Separated. It's a Process That Will Take Time
- The [prosecutorial] community is postulating the separation of the office of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General, and I believe this should happen. Of course, it's not a simple matter, and it's a process that must take some time, but naturally, we will be working on appropriate legislative projects - said Adam Bodnar at a press conference.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk:

The matter is very simple: either Braun out of the caucus and party, or Mr. Bosak out of the Sejm Presidium
- The Left voted against appointing Mr. Bosak to the Sejm Presidium. From the beginning, we said that this is not the place for a representative of a group that is undemocratic, that refers to violence, that had no problem with their candidate, Korwin-Mikke, speaking about pedophilia, postulating the legalization of pedophilia, and today apparently has no serious enough doubts about what MP Braun did to simply expel him from the party – Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk said in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i". - The matter is very simple: either Braun out of the caucus and party, or Mr. Bosak out of the Sejm Presidium – she continued.

Mastalerek on Kaczyński's Words: I Don't Know of Any Evidence. I Would Never Say That and I Don't Intend to Defend These Words

- I don't know of any evidence that would allow me to say something like that. I am no longer a spokesperson for PiS, for President Kaczyński, so let others take up the defense of these words, because I can only say this. I would never say that and I do not intend to defend these words - stated Marcin Mastalerek in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- I believe that Prime Minister Tusk pursued pro-German policies, however, I do not consider the term 'pro-German policy' as pejorative. It is simply a certain political concept related to the fact that Germany is the strongest in the EU, and there are circles in Poland that simply believe that one should be very close to that state - he continued.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Tusk's Visit to Brussels: 'Hard to Find a Greater, More Serious Symbol of Patriotism'
- Prime Minister Donald Tusk went to Brussels to take care of Poland's raison d'état, Poland's interests, and to restore to Poland the money that Polish local governments and Polish workers are waiting for. It is hard to find a different, greater, more serious symbol of patriotism, because these are not words, these are not declarations, but these are concrete actions translating into concrete investments and into the lives of Polish women and men - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVN24. - "Deeds, not words," Jarosław Kaczyński once said together with Prime Minister Beata Szydło. Today we see that the new government is ready for these deeds, while Jarosław Kaczyński remains with words, offensive words devoid of respect - she continued.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk on Abortion Decriminalization: I Heard Statements from Poland 2050 MPs Who Would Support Deleting or Limiting Article 152 of the Penal Code
- The first step is, of course, the decriminalization act, which has been submitted to the Sejm, but that is the path of MPs [...]. I have heard statements from representatives, MPs of Poland 2050, who would absolutely support the deletion or limitation of Article 152 of the Penal Code - said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk on TVN24.

PiS hasn't understood why it lost the election, and that's normal

- PiS hasn't understood why it lost the election, and that's normal. No party will do that or understand it in such a short time. They are in shock; they don't really know what happened. It will take them many months - stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

Mastalerek:

Tusk is Prime Minister Solely Thanks to Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz
Donald Tusk is Prime Minister solely thanks to Szymon Hołownia and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. They did not seize their opportunity to politically corner Donald Tusk, but PiS over 8 years has not understood why it lost the elections – stated Marcin Mastalerek in the "Guest of Events" program on Polsat News.

21:13

Mastalerek:

I See No Reason Why Someone Fulfilling Their Role Well, Because Bosak is a Good Deputy Speaker, Should Pay for What Another MP Did

- There is no collective responsibility. Speaker Bosak is not responsible for the behavior of Grzegorz Braun. Braun has been suspended from this faction - stated Marcin Mastalerek on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń".

- I see no reason why a person who is fulfilling their role well, because Krzysztof Bosak is a good Deputy Speaker, should have to pay for what another MP did - he continued.
