KGHM Signs Letter of Intent with the Land Forces Academy in Wrocław

Cooperation in security, exchange of experiences, and training – KGHM has signed a letter of intent with the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Academy in Wrocław. Solutions for crisis management challenges will be developed, among other things. The prestigious document also envisions collaboration between KGHM personnel and the Academy on innovative research projects.

– In recent years, the world has starkly shown us how unpredictable our times are. We will share our own experiences and gain knowledge from the academic staff about crisis management situations. Efficient functioning of production and IT systems are crucial matters. Exchanging experiences with university experts will enable cooperation and tackling various challenges – said Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

The letter includes, among other things, conducting substantive consultations between KGHM and the Land Forces Academy, carrying out joint scientific research, and training activities related to crisis management.

During the ceremony at the Land Forces Academy, KGHM President Tomasz Zdzikot received the Medal of the Centenary of Regained Independence from the hands of the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Wojciech Skurkiewicz. The decoration was awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland at the request of the Minister of National Defence for services to an Independent Poland.

KGHM is building its future based on e-industry. The implemented solutions include robotization, digitalization, knowledge management, and the principles of Industry 4.0. KGHM adopts the latest global solutions such as BigData and predictive maintenance. The copper company conducts its research and development activities in cooperation with, among others, the largest Polish higher education institutions and scientific institutes, as well as industrial entities.

The General Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Academy in Wrocław is one of the best military universities in Poland. Its traditions date back to the period of the First Polish Republic. Currently, the university offers extensive educational opportunities in the faculties of Security Sciences and Management, as well as in the Institute of Command, the Institute of Leadership, and the Military Medical Training Center.
