How can women change the world – through their own businesses, media presence, or helping others? The answer is simple: they don’t have to choose, as they can pursue all their passions. Omenaa Mensah, who will be one of the speakers at the Impact’21 conference, is an example of how to successfully and enthusiastically combine different spheres of activity. The autumn edition takes place on October 27th and 28th in Poznań.
Omenaa Mensah is a multitasking woman. She uniquely blends business and media presence with charitable work. She is widely known primarily as a journalist and television presenter on TVN, TVN24, TTV, and TVN STYLE. But this is only part of her very broad spectrum of activities.
Investor and Entrepreneur
In her professional life, in addition to her media work, Omenaa Mensah is also an entrepreneur. She has founded as many as five companies, including three operating in the clothing industry. Two of them are Occhiello and Amante, which specialize in tailoring men's suits. The third, Ubieramy Pracowników, is a manufacturer of professional workwear for employees at all levels. Another brand founded by the well-known journalist is the luxury furniture brand Ammadora.
In addition to her own brands, Omenaa Mensah has also co-invested in several technology and development companies. She is also the founder and owner of Omi Productions, a company that produces programs on architecture and design.
It is no wonder that with such an impressive and diverse portfolio, her professional activity and entrepreneurship were recognized by “Forbes Women Polska” magazine. In recognition, they awarded her the title of permanent Ambassador of the magazine.
Education Will Create a Better Future
But beyond business and her television career, Omenaa Mensah also engages in charitable activities. The foundation she established, Omenaa Foundation, supports the education of children in need in Africa and Poland, and also works to build attitudes of tolerance and engagement among children and youth. It teaches sensitivity and acceptance towards others, regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, or religion.
Through the foundation, Omenaa Mensah has also undertaken the construction of a school in Ghana. When the presenter visited the country of her father’s origin for the first time a few years ago, she decided to help the poorest children gain education. Thanks to her, children growing up without family support were able to start learning this year.
Within a few years of her first visit to Ghana, Omenaa Mensah raised funds, prepared a plan, and built a modern, colorful, and friendly facility. Now she will encourage students from Poland to participate in multi-month internships in Ghana, during which they will have the opportunity to support children in learning in fields ranging from visual arts to biology and mathematics.
The journalist and entrepreneur was also the originator and producer of the charitable theatrical performance titled “Czarno to widzę, czyli wymieszani, posortowani” (I see it darkly, or mixed, sorted). It humorously addresses social issues such as intolerance. The play features a constellation of Polish actors and can be seen on theaters across Poland.
In addition, Omenaa initiates and implements business projects supporting charitable activities. In 2020, she received an Honorary Award in the “Stars of Charity” Plebiscite, and due to her achievements in philanthropy, she was also invited to join the jury of this prestigious competition.
Women Empowerment
Such a versatile and passion-filled businesswoman is naturally an excellent example of how women can strengthen their role in business and social life – and how much society benefits from it. And since this current and extremely important topic will be discussed during the autumn edition of Impact’21, Omenaa Mensah could not be missing from the conference.
Omenaa Mensah will talk about her zealous and enthusiastic approach to life as part of the Women Empowerment thematic track. As a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, she will participate in a fireside chat titled “The Values of My Personal Brand.” We invite you to the autumn conference Impact’21 on October 27th and 28th in Poznań!
