Truskolaski:
I Will Not Run for the Senate
- I am staying in Białystok. I will not run [for the Senate] because too little time has passed for me since the last elections. Furthermore, there is a danger that if PiS wins power, they will introduce a commissioner. Those cities where presidents run [for office] and become MPs or senators will be handed over to PiS without a fight - stated Tadeusz Truskolaski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
08:02
Truskolaski:
PiS won, therefore it lost. This victory is a local one; on a European scale, they are losers
- Please note that PiS won, therefore it lost. They lost because they were in the third faction in the EP, and now they are in the fifth. Therefore, this victory is only a local victory, while on a European scale they are losers - stated Tadeusz Truskolaski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
08:04
- I would say that the [European Coalition's] lists weren't formulated the best. They should have simply been stronger. There was only one candidate from Białystok, and why not introduce competition so people have a choice? There was no choice there - stated Tadeusz Truskolaski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego”.
08:11
Truskolaski:
There was never a plan to form a movement under Tusk's leadership
08:13
- No such word was spoken [Donald Tusk's declaration of returning to Polish politics], but as far as body language goes, it could have been interpreted that way. But when, where, and in what form - I also have such hope. Perhaps it stems from a certain hope that he will return, but I cannot say that any words were spoken or any declaration was made. That did not happen - stated Tadeusz Truskolaski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

Dworczyk:
Falenta's Accusations Have Nothing to Do with Reality
„Mr. Falenta has been convicted by a final court judgment. During the trial, there was time to reveal all information, which I believe he did as the accused to defend himself in this matter. He was convicted, extradited to Poland, and it appears he is acting like a desperate person, making some nervous moves, but it is completely unbelievable. These various accusations appearing in the media have nothing to do with reality” – said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Piotr Goćka in “Sygnały dnia” on Jedynka radio.
08:21
Dworczyk:
For the opposition and some mainstream media, Falenta, who until recently was the source of evil, has become an authority and oracle
"It is interesting to observe the behaviour of the opposition and some mainstream media, for whom until recently Mr. Falenta was the source of evil and a symbol of everything that is worst, and today some would suddenly want him to become an authority and an oracle on various matters related to the so-called tape scandal," said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.
08:28
Dworczyk:
Congress in Early July to Present Program and Ideas for the Next 4 Years
"We have a structured program of action. We have undergone a reconstruction. With this government composition, we will implement the initiated reforms until the end of our term. This week, we have an away meeting of the PiS parliamentary club on Friday, where President Kaczyński will essentially task the MPs, the entire party, regarding election preparations. Soon, a campaign staff will be appointed by our party's statutory authorities, which will begin preparations, and in early July, a programmatic congress will be held, where we will present the program, or significant parts of the program, that we want to offer Poles as an idea for the next 4 years of our term" - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.

Gowin:
It was clear from the start that the so-called 500+ for people with disabilities would come with effective taxation of large retail stores. It will be difficult to introduce this tax this year.
„Everything depends on tax solutions. Prime Minister Morawiecki very precisely announced at the convention that this possibility of broader support for people with disabilities is linked to Poland winning the case before the Court of Justice regarding the retail tax. From the very first moment the Prime Minister revealed this project, it was clear that this money [for the so-called 500+] would appear with the effective introduction of taxation of large retail stores. It will be difficult to effectively introduce this tax this year. In my opinion, it will most likely happen from next year” - said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
08:45
Gowin:
If We Had Won and Needed a Coalition Partner, Kukiz'15 Has Been My First Choice for Years. I Don't Rule Out Candidates from His Movement Appearing on United Right Lists from the Start.
“The fact that we won the European elections very decisively does not translate to the autumn elections, because an additional 2 million people will likely participate in those elections, and it is unknown how they will distribute their sympathies. If we had won and needed a coalition partner, Kukiz’15 has been my first choice for years. I do not rule out a scenario where candidates from his movement would find themselves on the United Right lists from the very beginning,” said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

Schetyna:
We won't compete on promises or transfers. We will present a comprehensive offer.
09:11
Schetyna:
An Alternative Plan Must Be Presented
- This ruling team offers no economic stability, but today, to win against them, an alternative plan must be presented. And today, the opposition is for this purpose, and the role of Civic Platform and myself is to organize this opposition and tell Poles convincingly: listen, vote for the opposition, because we are solid and serious, and we think about what will happen tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, what the future of our children, future generations will be, not just our here and now - stated Grzegorz Schetyna on Onet Rano.
09:18
Schetyna:
No one from Komorowski's 2015 campaign team was in the Civic Platform HQ
- It's absurd, because no one from that team, a coalition one at that, which ran the 2015 campaign [Bronisław Komorowski's campaign] was present in the headquarters. I am changing and expanding [the campaign team for the parliamentary elections]. We are inviting local government officials to cooperate. We have signed an agreement with Nowoczesna for a joint parliamentary club - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in Onet Rano.
09:29
- Asking is probably an understatement. He [Marek Falenta] is demanding a pardon and blackmailing the president, to call a spade a spade. This is a classic case for a parliamentary inquiry, because it's such a serious accusation, and now we hear that nothing has happened at all. The Minister of Justice says he doesn't know about this matter, Kaczyński is underwater. Those who were allegedly recorded, as we hear today, Kaczyński was recorded at Nowogrodzka, and PiS had an influence on introducing these Sowa leaks into public circulation. It means everything has been turned on its head - stated Grzegorz Schetyna on Onet Rano.
- This is a subject for a parliamentary inquiry, and we will absolutely not let this go. Whether now or after the elections, this commission will be established - emphasized the Civic Platform leader.
09:35
- A motion will be submitted this week. A motion will be submitted this week for information and immediately after that, a motion for an investigative committee. A motion for information from the Minister of Justice and the Minister of the Interior - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in Onet Rano.
- The Prosecutor's Office, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of the Interior, and finally an investigative committee - emphasized the Civic Platform chairman.
09:51
WKK:
I Can't Imagine a Coalition with PiS
- We didn't go into the local government elections with PiS, even though that offer was present in many regional assemblies, more than we currently govern. We did not accept that offer. We did not accept the offer of a Constitutional Tribunal judge, a Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, when there were various confusions. I cannot imagine a coalition with PiS because they do not meet the criteria that we presented in our ideological and programmatic proposal - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on RMF FM.

Biuro Analiz Sejmowych (the Sejm's Office of Analysis) has urgently reviewed three draft legislative proposals: a so-called amendment to the power bill, which is an amendment to the excise tax act and certain other acts, the energy efficiency act, and the biocomponents and liquid biofuels act, an amendment to the energy law, and changes to the Teachers' Charter, which include, among other things, an increase in the average salary of teachers, the introduction of a new starting benefit for probationary teachers, the determination of the minimum amount of the form master's allowance, and the shortening of the professional development path.
Everything indicates that the Sejm will work on PiS's proposals during its upcoming session, which begins on Wednesday. For the energy-related projects, the first readings will take place at a meeting of the Committee on Energy and State Treasury. In the case of the Teachers' Charter, the readings will be held in a joint session of two committees: Education, Science, and Youth, and Local Government and Regional Policy.
The justification for the amendment to the power bill explicitly states that it should enter into force before July 1st. Since this week's Sejm session is the last one this month, the MPs will have to vote on the project at an express pace; otherwise, it will be necessary to convene an additional session. The first readings are scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 AM.

Włodzimierz Czarzasty, a prominent figure in Polish politics and a member of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD), has commented on the controversial letter penned by Marek Falenta, the businessman at the heart of the 2014 "affair of the tapes." Czarzasty, speaking on the matter, offered a stark and perhaps cynical interpretation of Falenta's motives.
The former deputy speaker of the Sejm believes there is only one plausible reason why Falenta would have written and subsequently revealed his letter. According to Czarzasty, this action serves as a form of "life insurance" for Falenta himself.
The context of Falenta's letter is crucial here. Falenta was convicted for his role in illegally taping politicians and businessmen, a scandal that deeply shook Polish political circles. The tapes revealed compromising conversations, leading to resignations and widespread public outcry. Falenta has since been serving his prison sentence.
Czarzasty's statement suggests that Falenta, by revealing this letter, is attempting to secure his own future, potentially by offering information or leverage that could benefit him in exchange for leniency or protection. The "life insurance" metaphor implies a fear for his well-being or a desire to mitigate the consequences of his past actions.
While the exact content of Falenta's letter remains a subject of speculation and potential further revelations, Czarzasty's interpretation casts a shadow of self-preservation over the entire affair. It points to a transactional approach to justice and public scrutiny, where past wrongdoings might be leveraged for future gains.
The tweet referenced, posted by @wlodekczarzasty on Twitter on June 10, 2019, at 1:53 PM, likely contains the direct quote or elaborates further on this sentiment. The timing of the statement, given the ongoing political landscape in Poland, suggests it was intended to influence public opinion or political discourse surrounding the Falenta case and its lingering implications.
12:59
„Yesterday, following new information regarding the wiretapping scandal, the case of the letter and the request from Mr. Marek Falenta, we demanded information from the Prosecutor General. Every day brings new information that sheds new light on this matter. We do not see any will or desire from the government or the Prosecutor General to explain this issue to the public. The will to resolve this matter disappeared after PiS came to power, and for several years we have been observing a peculiar contredanse where state organs are unwilling to deal with it, postpone it, or try to obscure it,” said Civic Platform Vice-Chairman Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference in the Sejm.
„We expect a clear reaction and clear action from the head of government. It is from his political environment that recordings, unknown to the prosecution, have emerged in the last 3 years. Mr. Prime Minister, please explain to the public your connection to this matter. What do you know about the actual instigators? And under what circumstances and about what matters, were you recorded in various restaurants?” he added.
„In the history of democratic states, we have dealt with situations of illegal recording of political opponents that led to impeachment. This was the Watergate scandal, which led to Nixon's impeachment. In this situation, there should be an impeachment of the entire PiS government, which – as is highly probable – may have been behind the organization of this operation. The facts pointed to by Mr. Falenta are devastating,” said Krzysztof Brejza from Civic Platform.
„This is, at this moment, a classic case for an investigative committee, which should act when the actions of other state organs do not yield results. We are still counting on information from the Prosecutor General during this Sejm session. If not, then a motion for an investigative committee,” announced Tomasz Siemoniak.

We Will Support All Actions to Ensure Westerplatte, a Crucial Place of Remembrance for Poles, Receives Proper Care
„The Prime Minister and the entire government believe that there are dates in Polish history that should be a matter of common concern for the entire Polish community, for the entire nation. That is why today, during the meeting [with President Dulkiewicz, the Prime Minister] emphasized the importance of these places of remembrance being properly looked after at a very high level. In the case of Westerplatte, we had the impression that unfortunately, this was not entirely the case, so we will support all actions that will enable this very important place of remembrance for Poles to be properly cared for” - said government spokesperson, Minister Piotr Müller, at a press briefing.

Prime Minister Critical of Local Government Proposals, Citing Constitutional Concerns
“The issue of the local government proposals, recently signed in Gdańsk, was also discussed. The Prime Minister emphasized that he is critically inclined towards some of these proposals, which, in the Prime Minister's conviction, would currently be inconsistent with the provisions of the constitution currently in force in Poland. The Prime Minister stressed this during this conversation [with Mayor Dulkiewicz]” – said government spokesperson, Minister Piotr Müller, at a press briefing.
14:33
Müller:
Likely by the end of the week, a summary of initial meetings after the so-called ministry reviews
„[The ministry reviews] have already begun. Today, meetings will be held with the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Minister Michał Woś, and the Minister of Finance. Further meetings will take place in the following days. Most likely, at the end of the week, we will present some initial summary of these meetings during a press conference” – said government spokesperson Minister Piotr Müller at a press briefing.
14:41
„Today, a draft special act is on the table, intended to transfer the [Westerplatte] area into the hands of the Polish state. I appealed for us to sit down at the table and discuss how we commemorate the site of this historic battle, which is also an important element of Gdańsk residents' identity. I handed the Prime Minister an invitation, sent in April, to co-organize the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. The Prime Minister accepted the invitation with understanding, and I believe the conclusion I can draw from this conversation is that on September 1st at 4:45 AM, we will meet together at the foot of the monument” – said the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, after her meeting with the Prime Minister.
14:42
"I told the Prime Minister that [the local government leaders' theses] are not a closed topic, quite the opposite. When theses are put forward, it is an invitation to dialogue. As I understand it, the Prime Minister and his subordinate services will want to participate in this dialogue, in the public debate concerning the condition of local governments and the Polish state" - said the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, after a meeting with the Prime Minister.

Gosiewska:
I am the PiS parliamentary club's candidate for Deputy Speaker of the Sejm
- I think many things will be decided tomorrow, especially regarding the composition of the Sejm's presidium. That will also likely be tomorrow's business - stated Małgorzata Gosiewska on Polskie Radio 24.
- Yes, I am the candidate of the PiS parliamentary club [for Deputy Speaker of the Sejm], which is a great source of pride for me, but also a commitment. I approach this with humility. I know these are additional responsibilities - she emphasized.

0% PIT for young people is one of the proposals from the so-called "Kaczyński's Fifth," which until now has not been implemented due to resistance from the former Minister of Finance. According to the draft bill just published, the act is to come into force on August 1st of this year.
- The draft bill constitutes the implementation of announced changes in personal income tax concerning the abolition of PIT tax for young people up to the age of 26. The aim of these changes is to reduce the fiscal burden on young individuals employed based on an employment contract, cooperative employment contract, service relationship, homeworking contract, or mandate contracts. This is the first step towards reducing the tax wedge, which is the difference between what a taxpayer receives "net" and the amount a company spends on their employment - it was stated in the justification.
Reducing the burden for individuals with relatively low salaries will make it easier for young people to start working and simultaneously provide an opportunity for people working in the grey economy to return to the labor market. It will also contribute to improving the employment rate of young people and decreasing unemployment within this age group, as detailed further in the regulatory impact assessment. A stable professional situation and an improved financial situation for young people will also foster family formation and parenthood - it was noted.

- For me, cooperation with this strategic partner [the USA] is immensely important. We will see what fruits this visit bears. But the fact that the Polish president is going, that he is received with honors, for me as a citizen, regardless of his political leanings, he is my president, the Polish president. This is comforting and also, I would say, promising for the future – Marek Sawicki said in an interview with Adrian Klarenbach on Polskie Radio 24.

- Effective tomorrow, Sylwester Tułajew will assume the position of Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. The new deputy minister was appointed by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The instrument of appointment was presented by Minister Elżbieta Witek. Concurrently, the outgoing Undersecretary of State, Paweł Majewski, summarized his work at the ministry - informed the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
18:18
„Work holds immense value. It contributes to both the development of Poland and the self-development of employees. It is undoubtedly something that serves families and society. Employees must be respected, and their remuneration should make them feel dignified. The level of remuneration also determines the effectiveness of the work itself, and ultimately, the efficiency and competitiveness of the entire economy. In 2020, the minimum wage will be 2450 zlotys. This is an increase of 700 zlotys since the beginning of our government. This is a project we did not announce, but of which we are proud. This is our 700+. Compared to 2019, it will be 200 zlotys more. On an annual basis, this is a thirteenth salary for the lowest earners. This will be a noticeable change, especially after considering the PIT reduction to 17%. An era has ended. The minimum wage no longer signifies a minimum commitment from the state” - says Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an online spot.
„The minimum wage level we have set for 2020 is nominally the largest increase in history since the denomination in 1995. We are creating such solutions because Poland and Poles deserve them. Times of European living standards and an economy at a European level lie before us” - he adds.

The deadline for submitting applications for the position of the new President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) to the Marshal of the Sejm expires on July 28 – according to a letter seen by 300POLITYKA. It would be difficult to shorten this deadline, as the regulations clearly state that the aforementioned applications are to be submitted 30 days before the end of the current term.
Therefore – according to our information – it is not impossible that an additional, one-day session of the Sejm will take place in August. The last session of the Sejm before the summer recess is scheduled for July 17-19.
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, after being sworn in the Sejm, began his six-year term as President of the Supreme Audit Office on August 27, 2013. In accordance with applicable law, the President of NIK holds office until the new president takes up their position.

- I think that [Falenta may not be a threat] necessarily. He is intimidating, releasing all sorts of information. The time will come when public opinion, the state, will say 'check this.' When you give the president a month, because I expect there will be no pardon, you journalists will ask where the evidence, the recordings are - said Krzysztof Łapiński in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.
