Significant Risks to the Stability of the Polish Currency: Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the 'Polish SAFE 0%'

- These suspicions, that this [the 'Polish SAFE 0%'] has something to do with either the sale of gold or the rebooking of the value of that gold, first and foremost, create enormous risks for the stability of the Polish currency. And yet, the primary task of the NBP is truly to guard the stability of the zloty, meaning to ensure that people do not earn less and that there is no excessive inflation. This is its role - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:07

Błaszczak on PiS's Prime Minister Candidate:

A Young Generation Politician, President's Age.

- Please be patient for a moment. Tomorrow, indeed tomorrow, as was commented [PiS will present its candidate for Prime Minister. This decision, moreover, President Kaczyński spoke about the profile of such a candidate on Radio Maryja two weeks ago. This is precisely the genius of President Kaczyński, that several people fit this profile - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

- Indeed, a politician of the young generation, of President Nawrocki's age. What is this all about? It's about dynamizing the campaign, although it hasn't been announced yet, it's already underway. Moreover, I am a supporter of the American theory that election campaigns begin the day after the elections. We are preparing the PiS program, we are traveling around Poland - he continued.

08:11

Błaszczak asked about Morawiecki potentially leaving PiS:

There’s no justification for it, why would he?

- I don't think there's any justification for it. Why would [Mateusz Morawiecki leave]? PiS is a team of experienced, creative, tough, battle-hardened people, people who have a program. For example, in the healthcare sphere, we are in favour of separating private healthcare from public - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

08:12

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

No One Knows How 'SAFE 0%' is to be Constructed

- First of all, no one knows exactly how it is to be constructed [the 'Polish SAFE 0%']. So, there's a proposal, but it's unclear exactly what and how these enormous sums of money are to be raised - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:13

Błaszczak on SAFE:

It would be a harmful loan for Poland.

- I hope not [the president will not sign the SAFE implementing act], because this loan would be harmful to Poland. Especially since the president, together with Professor Glapiński, presented an alternative - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

08:19

"We Must Have a Pool for the Darkest Hour, It Should Remain Untouched." Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Critiques "SAFE 0%"

- If that's the case, I don't know how, because it hasn't been revealed that we have these funds for a rainy day, then let's truly keep them. Because it's not as if we have no other options today, that today is that darkest hour - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- Of course, we are in a situation where we need to increase our security potential and the potential of our defense system. But we have the option to borrow money advantageously together in a larger pool and purchase this armament, and above all, strengthen [...] our own defense industry. We have such an option - she continued.

- So, if someone truly cares about Polish sovereignty, then firstly, the stability of our currency and our economy is fundamental, and the National Bank of Poland should be dealing with that. And secondly, there must always be this pool for the darkest hour. Perhaps the darkest hour won't come, let's hope it never does. But this pool should exist and should remain untouched - she emphasized.

08:21

Błaszczak:

Our Polls Show Stable Support

- Our polls indicate that we have stable support, and what happens tomorrow, meaning the dynamization of our actions related to program preparation, based on our forecasts, will improve the polls - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

08:23

Błaszczak:

Many Refuse to Participate in Polls Due to the Atmosphere in Our Country

- Our polls are higher, but that doesn't matter. Please note that we live in a certain environment, surroundings, and please note that there is generally a problem with polls. There are very many who refuse to participate in polls, and this stems from the atmosphere that exists in our country - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

08:24

Błaszczak Warns PiS Voters: Voting for Braun Means Supporting Tusk

- Grzegorz Braun is indeed harming Poland, and I warn PiS voters against voting for Grzegorz Braun because it means supporting Donald Tusk. It's a diversion of votes - stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

SAFE 0%? Money Doesn't Grow on Trees: Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Warns of 'Złoty Volatility'

- Money doesn't grow on trees. So if we're not getting rid of anything or borrowing, it means we're printing money. And if we're printing money, it has nothing to do with the stability of the Polish złoty and caring for people not to be exposed to high prices and bear those costs - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- Either there is this gold reserve and we know it exists, let's keep it for the darkest hour – may it never come, but that's how a responsible state behaves. And if it's just some kind of bookkeeping entry, it means we're talking about printing money, which means destabilizing the Polish złoty. This is super dangerous and very bad for people - she assessed.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the SAFE program with the EU Commissioner for Defence:

I am once again requesting the President’s decision.

- Poland, as Europe’s largest beneficiary of the SAFE program, is ready for its implementation. We are awaiting the President’s decision. I am once again requesting it. These are much-needed funds - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing with the EU Commissioner for Defence.

- If additional funds become available, for example from the National Bank of Poland (NBP), to supplement the SAFE program, it will only increase the possibilities for purchasing anti-drone batteries within the SAN program, equipping infrastructure, building the necessary infrastructure for this equipment, and also making purchases in other areas. So, we are ready for two major projects, but the first one is ready, it’s on the table – the SAFE program - he continued.

10:57

Civic Coalition Appeals to Duda in New Spot:

Poles are Waiting, Poland Must Be SAFE

- Security doesn't happen on its own. It's concrete decisions and concrete investments. The SAFE program is 43 billion 700 million euros for Poland, with 139 projects strengthening our army and industry. A full 89% of these funds stay in the country. It means production in Polish plants, new technologies, new jobs, artillery, air defense, drones, cybersecurity, space – a complete security architecture for the coming decades – says the narrator in a new Civic Coalition clip published on social media.

- Almost 12,000 companies will be involved in this supply chain across Poland. The bill has been passed by the Sejm and awaits signature today. President Duda, this is a decision about the state's security and the development of the Polish defense industry. Poles are waiting, Poland must be SAFE – emphasizes the narrator.

11:12

Tusk:

Over 2800 People Evacuated from Threatened Areas Since March 1st

- We have information that since March 1st, over 2800 people, either via civilian airlines or directly with the help of our consular posts, have evacuated from these threatened areas. This is indeed a large number, but I want to tell you straight away that there is no reason to feel any particular satisfaction with what has been achieved so far, because there are still many people waiting not only for help, but very often for information - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting concerning the situation in the Middle East.

11:14

Tusk:

Government Boeing Planes Will Also Be Available for Evacuation Organizers

- I am also receiving many signals that people responsible for information and direct contact are not working as they should everywhere. Therefore, I very much ask, and I am looking here at Prime Minister Sikorski, this concerns our diplomatic missions, but not only them, to monitor everyone's work 24 hours a day - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting regarding the situation in the Middle East.

- We are unable, no one in the world, no country is able to provide everyone with full service immediately for obvious reasons. We are ready, and I am looking here at Minister Lask, I have received information that we will also send two civilian [planes], these will be government-owned Boeing aircraft, so they will also be available for those organizing the evacuation - he continued.

11:15

Tusk:

EU Ready to Co-finance Evacuation Operation if Other EU Citizens Also Included

- The EU is ready to co-finance our evacuation operation within the European mechanism if other EU citizens also find space on board our planes. Of course, Polish citizens are our priority, but please use this mechanism flexibly and intelligently - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting concerning the situation in the Middle East.

11:20

Tusk Announces Alert:

Everyone Must Be on High Alert.

- Let those who we are certain have failed the test for some unexplained reason not count on leniency. Everyone absolutely, this is an alert, must be on high alert and focused so that this operation proceeds as smoothly as possible - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting on the situation in the Middle East.

11:23

Morawiecki:

Poland is Now in a State of Immense Dependence, with Massive Capital Outflow

- In the balance of primary and secondary income accounts, meaning those where no reciprocal benefits accompany transfers, our state's balance of payments shows an annual outflow of around 140 billion Polish złoty. [...] Every year, as a result of the economic development model we have imposed upon ourselves over the last 35 years, we experience an outflow of 140 billion złoty - said Mateusz Morawiecki during the presentation of the "Powered by Poland" report.

- This happened because the economic development model that we embraced in the 90s and the 10s of this century was a model of dependent development. [...] It has led us to a place of immense dependence today, with a massive outflow of capital from Poland, 140 billion annually, a sum only 50 billion złoty less than the entire SAFE fund for 50 years - he continued.

- What to do about it? This is a question I have been asking myself for 20 years, and I try to contribute at least a tiny brick to reverse this historical and economic destiny in which we currently find ourselves. And part of the answer can be found in this report - he indicated.

11:26

Morawiecki:

We are not among the top 20 or even 30 richest countries in the world. We are very far behind in terms of wealth.

- Marcin [Horała] mentioned the G20. Perhaps someone among you here knows what level of wealth Poland is at, in terms of this fundamental comparative measure between countries? Are we the 20th richest country in the world? Well, we are not - said Mateusz Morawiecki during the presentation of the "Powered by Poland" report.

- We are not among the 20 richest countries in the world. We are not even among the 30 richest countries in the world. We are in 44th place when it comes to GDP per capita in nominal dollars - he pointed out.

- The fact that we entered the group of the 20 largest economies nominally at this particular historical moment is solely due to a combination of our demographics, meaning we are a relatively larger country than Switzerland, Belgium, or Sweden in terms of population, and we have reached a certain level of economic development, a certain disposable income and national income per capita at this specific level - he continued.

- Therefore, on balance, we have this trillion in nominal dollars and 2 trillion, I am rounding, in purchasing power parity. But in terms of wealth, we are very far behind, and it is precisely this wealth that anchors us so strongly in this dependent model - he emphasized.

11:34

Tusk to Nawrocki and Glapiński:

There's Nothing to Hide Here, Just Lay It All Out and Let's Go.

- I will repeat my appeal - just as in this operation, as we sit here, representing very different institutions, the civilian and military world, we are integrating all possible actions, regardless of circumstances, there is no room here for any jurisdictional disputes, only a task, and everyone is trying to complete this task, the same applies to the issue of money for armaments, to put it simply - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting regarding the situation in the Middle East.

- I will appeal once again to truly set politics aside here. Very impatiently, but with sincere impatience, I await the specific details. So, if President Glapiński or the President have anything concrete regarding these additional funds from the National Bank of Poland for the defense industry, defense, and the security of Poland, they should neither delay nor hesitate. This cannot be a political duel and an alternative to what has already been managed, but it can lead to very good synergy if it is serious and substantive. Please provide the specifics as soon as possible, and I guarantee it will take us a few hours to transform it into a bill - said the head of government.

- If I receive this material today, then on Monday in the Sejm there will be a bill regarding the possibility of launching these funds. But let it be quick, serious, let there be no politics involved, and let it be in the spotlight, so there are no ambiguities - he emphasized.

- There's nothing to hide here, just lay it all out on the table and let's go, because the situation demands full solidarity from all institutions. I declare full readiness for cooperation, from morning till night and at night too if necessary, on the weekend too, but let's move forward with this - Tusk added.

"Powered by Poland": Morawiecki Presents His 6-Point Economic Strategy

"There's a difference between flows in the economy, in macroeconomics, in calculating GDP, and there's a difference between accumulated wealth, know-how, licenses, patents, various types of knowledge, technology, and again, technology. This causes a gigantic mass of money to continuously flow out of Poland. And what are our prescriptions, [...] these six main prescriptions that we propose here in this report?" - said Mateusz Morawiecki during the presentation of the 'Powered by Poland' report.

"Better utilization of Polish savings. Poles have savings amounting to approximately PLN 3.6 trillion. Of this, in loans, leasing, factoring, i.e., in the part that enters the economy, and not only in corporate loans, but I'm also including cash loans, consumer loans, credit cards, and mortgages, there is only about PLN 1.5 trillion. So, roughly speaking, PLN 2 trillion could be utilized better, in a way more conducive to economic development."

"Public procurement must be the engine of the Polish economy and it still isn't. We've been discussing this for at least 15-20 years. In the last two years, you've also heard from the current Prime Minister about: repolonization of orders. No, I propose the true nationalization of public procurement. We have analyzed all models: France, Italy, Germany, EU countries, and we should go ruthlessly, aggressively over the edge, just as they do. But as many funds as possible [...] should be engaged here in Polish economic soil."

"Energy prices. We cannot pour such large sums of money into energy prices today, because our economy will be uncompetitive. We have proposed special solutions, feasible solutions, not as costly as the current government claims it would strain the budget. Very slightly in relation to the relief it could provide to entrepreneurs. Therefore, extremely favorable relations on these individual items of the energy bill, which nobody understands: a fee for this, for that, for that, for that, for this and that. [...] And the largest, which we pay in the form of a climate tax to wealthy EU countries."

"Radical, fundamental acceleration of administrative and court decisions. Appropriate benchmarks must be applied here. The principle of tacit consent must be applied. Bold solutions must be introduced that will radically change the relationship between the entrepreneur and the official. The official must know that they are paid from the entrepreneur's taxes and the entrepreneur is their absolute client, the most important interlocutor. And there should be no being sent away empty-handed after 60 days for another 60 days, and this kind of approach."

"A topic that is strongly linked to huge defense spending. We have all learned what dual-use means, but let's add another pair of English words to this dual-use: input, output. I strongly encourage you to consider this. Let the output count first, not the input. What good is it to us that we spend a truly enormous sum on armaments, on defense policy? [...] This must be part of the Polish economic process. These must be dual-use goods."

"The last point is a new public administration policy, a new investment policy. This is about large engines of growth. [...] Central Communication Port, nuclear power, container port in Świnoujście, expansion of container ports. From PLN 18 billion to PLN 58 billion within 8 years, budget revenues increased from VAT, customs duties, and excise tax solely as a result of the expansion of ports in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Szczecin, Świnoujście. We are talking about such amounts of money. And similarly for CPK or other large investments, not only infrastructure in the sense of hard infrastructure, but also AI, microprocessors."

13:58

Zandberg:

We Propose Taking the Middle Path – The SAFE Program + Nuclear Energy

- I have a sense of absurdity, because for the last 24 hours, some politicians in Poland have been trying to prove that we must choose between one or the other: that we must choose between using the European SAFE mechanism and utilizing this extraordinary situation that allows the central bank to generate additional funds - said Adrian Zandberg at a press conference in Wrocław.

- Poland today needs enormous investments, and not just investments in armaments, in narrowly understood defense. Our security will depend on how well the Polish army is equipped, but the experience of this war, which is taking place beyond our eastern border, also shows how absolutely crucial energy security is when it comes to resilience - he continued.

- So, if we are in the fortunate situation today where we can benefit from both European funds under the SAFE program and funds generated by the central bank, then the answer of the Together party is: let's do it - indicated the co-chairman of Razem.

- We propose taking the middle path. We propose the "SAFE + Nuclear" program. Let's use European funds to finance these necessary investments in armaments and defense. Let's use funds from the National Bank of Poland to accelerate Poland's energy program, to build eight nuclear power blocks in Poland and to provide our economy with a stable energy base, because this is one of the key elements of our common security - he postulated.

14:04

Conference:

I Chose Wisely Because I Didn't Yield to Fear. I Chose Life." Nawrocka at the "Polish Woman of the 21st Century

- In the life of each of us, there comes a moment when we have to decide whether to live as others expect, or as courage, intuition, and values tell me. And it is about this courage that I would like to speak today. About courage that is not always loud. About courage that often doesn't make the front pages. But it is this courage that builds our lives - stated Marta Nawrocka during her opening speech at the "Polish Woman of the 21st Century" conference.

"Only when a person has values, do they know who they are"

- Today's world often tells us a lot about freedom, but less about where this freedom comes from. It means having values. And courage. Only when a person has values, do they know who they are. And when they have courage, they can remain faithful to those values. And only then does true freedom emerge. Freedom that is not a fashion trend - she continued.

"For me, courage has always been something very personal"

- Freedom that is not a fleeting mood. But freedom that allows one to say, "I know who I am. I don't have to pretend to be anyone." Courage is the strength that opens doors when others only see walls. It is the strength that allows one to remain oneself, even when facing criticism, hate speech, or misunderstanding. True courage is not about shouting the loudest. True courage is helping another person when others turn away. It is the courage to talk even with those who disagree with us. It is the courage not to respond to hatred with hatred. For me, courage has always been something very personal. I have made many decisions in my life that required it. Without faith, courage, and support, it would certainly have been harder for me - she emphasized.

"I chose wisely because I didn't yield to fear. I chose life."

- Today I can say that I chose wisely, because I did not yield to fear. I chose life. Not long ago, my everyday life looked completely different. I was an officer of the National Revenue Administration, I performed my duties, I returned home, I lived my ordinary, private time. But life often places us in a situation we didn't plan for. And then the question arises – do we take a step back, or do we take a step forward? - said the First Lady.

"For me, the answer has always been courage"

- For me, the answer has always been courage. During my husband's election campaign, I met thousands of women all over Poland, in Lubelszczyzna, in Mazury, in Wielkopolska, and in Pomorze. And I saw something extraordinary then. I saw their courage. Women who were not afraid to say what they truly felt and thought, even under societal pressure. These were very sincere conversations, sometimes very personal. It was the strength of Polish women. A strength that doesn't need publicity or shouting, but is in daily work, consistency, ambition, and the ability to change reality - she continued.

"Courage is here, in each of us"

- Looking at you today, I know that this courage is here, in each of us. In women who run businesses, who work in administration, in services, in hospitals, in schools, who daily balance professional life with caring for their families. Who support others, even though they themselves often face difficulties. The Polish woman of the 21st century is a woman who can be modern, who understands the world of global changes, but does not forget the values that are the foundation of the most important matters: a loving family, mutual respect, and responsibility for reality - she stated.

"Let's be strong, courageous, and wise"

- At this point, I extend special words of recognition to the laureates of the "Polish Woman of the 21st Century" competition. Each of you represents a different field, but you are united by one thing – the courage to take a step further than others. Let's be strong, courageous, and wise - concluded Marta Nawrocka.

14:40

Nawrocki Invites Tusk, Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Glapiński. A Date is Set

- On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, I have today invited Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and President of the National Bank of Poland Prof. Adam Glapiński to a meeting with the President, which will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Presidential Palace - informed Zbigniew Bogucki.

The topic of the meeting will be President Karol Nawrocki's proposal - #PolskiSAFE 0%.

- The meeting date has been set even before the commencement of the upcoming Sejm session, so that, if necessary, legislative changes can be processed as early as next week - emphasized the Head of the Presidential Chancellery.

16:50

Mentzen:

SAFE 0% - Like 500+, it offers short-term political gains that we will all pay dearly for later

- As soon as the idea of the National Bank of Poland printing 200 billion PLN emerged, I knew immediately that politicians would find numerous further pretexts to print money. Czarzasty has already managed to propose printing 200 billion PLN for healthcare, and Zandberg wants to use it to build a nuclear power plant. - wrote Sławomir Mentzen on social media.

- The campaign is still ahead of us, so the socialists from PiS, Razem, and Lewica will propose many more projects for which the NBP will have to print hundreds of billions of zlotys. SAFE 0% - like 500+, it offers short-term political gains that we will all pay dearly for later. - emphasized the Confederation leader.

19:58

Sasin on the SAFE 0% Proposal:

The Difference Between the Purchase Price and Today's Gold Rate Can Be Exploited.

- Such accusations [that SAFE is real money, while the Presidential SAFE 0% is not] are of course completely unfounded and are simply calculated to discredit or undermine the extremely good plan presented by the President and the Governor of the National Bank of Poland - said Jacek Sasin in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- A plan to utilize our Polish funds, which we have today, and which we obtained thanks to the foresight and excellent work of Governor Adam Glapiński, who bought gold when it was cheap. And today, this difference between the purchase price and the current gold rate can be exploited to acquire funds to arm the Polish army - he continued.

- So, you confirm that this plan involves reclassifying the value of gold? - asked Marek Tejchman.

- Well, yes. And in this way, we obtain the profit of the National Bank of Poland. A profit of almost 200 billion zlotys, 180-something billion zlotys, which can be used for the purpose of rearming and equipping the Polish army. Without all those problems that SAFE carries with it - Sasin replied.

20:04

Gronkiewicz-Waltz on Nawrocki and Glapiński's proposal:

It's done out of spite to the government; practically nothing has been presented,

- This is simply done out of spite to the government, because what has been presented, practically nothing has been presented, and SAFE has already been passed, the money will soon be available, and on very good terms, so let neither the President nor President Glapiński delude here - stated Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz on TVP Info.

20:07

Sasin:

Why Take a Loan When We Can Take Real Money from a Hidden Vault at the NBP?

- Why should we take a loan, why should we take credit, if we have real money in the same amount, where we don't have to go into debt, but just take it out, one could say, from a hidden vault, from a safe that is at the National Bank of Poland? - said Jacek Sasin in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- Thanks to this very move we've been talking about, this money will go towards the real equipment of the Polish army. Real, because we can buy wherever we want. Not in Europe, where the armament we need isn't available, because we can't buy F-35 planes or equivalent aircraft in Europe, we can't buy HIMARS, we can't buy Patriots, meaning the armament that is most necessary for us, we can't buy it - he continued.

20:25

Sasin:

SAFE is a prelude to introducing the Euro in Poland

- A meeting has just been arranged; it was the President who proposed this meeting. It's good that it is happening on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will then learn everything and we will see how much the declarations from Prime Minister Tusk and the entire government are worth, stating that it is solely about the Polish army receiving a financial injection for purchases. Or is it really not about something else? - said Jacek Sasin in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- Because when I hear Prime Minister Tusk today, who says: "SAFE 0% - okay, good, but only on the condition that it is together with the EU SAFE. And if there is no EU SAFE, then this 0% is also not". It is clearly visible that it is not about having money for armaments, but about tying oneself more strongly to the European Union's financial system by taking the EU SAFE - meaning it is a prelude to introducing the Euro in Poland. [...] Because it is a loan in Euros - he stated.

20:33

Gronkiewicz-Waltz:

There is American Lobbying for PiS

- Of course there is pressure, because there is American lobbying for PiS. There is no doubt about it. Some MEPs go there quite often and are even in Washington more often than in Brussels - stated Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz on TVP Info.

20:37

Sasin:

Our Convention Tomorrow is the Beginning of Removing This Disastrous Team from Power

- These failures who rule today will not save anything in Poland, they will ruin everything. No matter how much money you give them, they will burn through it. They will truly steal and burn it. Let's just stop - said Jacek Sasin on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

- First, let's remove them from power, and then we will sort everything out in Poland. Tomorrow's convention in Krakow is the beginning of removing this disastrous team from power, because they will truly not improve anything - he stated.
