Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government Again on Deregulation, Morawiecki at EKS

The Council of Ministers will convene for a session at 12:00. On the agenda are two deregulation projects, as well as a draft amendment to the act on preventing the pollution of the sea by ships.

At 16:40, as part of the XI European Congress of Local Governments, a discussion with Mateusz Morawiecki titled "What kind of European Union? What kind of enlargement?" will take place.

Tuesday also marks the first day of the Monetary Policy Council meeting.

08:21

Sobierańska-Grenda on Today's Hospital Directors' Protest:

I'm Waiting for Reform Proposals.

- I am definitely in contact with the protesters, I know many of these people. Therefore, I am waiting for reform proposals [from the hospital directors' protest], for their demands. Today, a ministry representative will certainly talk to the protesters, and I think that the demands I see... Today there is a Council of Ministers meeting at 12:00 PM, but we are prepared to also receive the demands that the protesters will come with - stated Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda on PR3.

08:22

Cenckiewicz on the President's decision regarding the SAFE Act:

He has three weeks.

- He has three weeks [for the president to make a decision on the SAFE Act], counting from Friday, because there were media reports that the act reached the President on Friday. I haven't verified this. It probably arrived on Friday, or over the weekend, or on Monday - said Sławomir Cenckiewicz in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on "Gość Radia ZET".

When pointed out that government representatives are pushing for Karol Nawrocki to make a quick decision on the act (and perhaps military personnel are also demanding a swift decision), he replied: - Of course, because next week we will immediately rearm. If the president signs it today or doesn't sign it, depending on the scenario, we will act and rearm this week or not rearm. Well, that's absurd.

08:28

Closer to Signing the SAFE Act or Further Away? Cenckiewicz: Poland's Survival Doesn't Hinge on It, Yet It's Portrayed That Way

- The world before and after SAFE will truly exist, and the world of Polish armaments will and will continue to exist. So, regardless of whether the President signs it or not, Poland must have its capabilities on standby across the entire security spectrum. This means we must be secure here and now, irrespective of whether some law passes or not - Sławomir Cenckiewicz stated on "Gość Radia ZET".

When asked if, as of today, we are closer to the signature or further away, he replied: - I don't know. I listened to the President yesterday in Mikołajki. He spoke reasonably on the matter, also pointing to the emotion involved. […] Truly, Poland's survival or demise does not depend on this, yet it is being framed that way.

08:35

Cenckiewicz:

Anyone thinking Poland can build offensive capabilities against an enemy on their territory, like the US and Israel, is mistaken

- I don’t understand it at all. What does the Gulf War have to do with [the president's decision regarding the SAFE act]? If anyone thinks that Poland will build operational, military capabilities thanks to SAFE that will allow us to attack our enemy on their territory on the scale that the United States and Israel have done, then they are of course mistaken. Well, unless they are thinking about SAFE in the context of how Iran failed to defend itself against a massive attack by the United States and Israel - said Sławomir Cenckiewicz on "Gość Radia ZET".

08:37

Sobierańska-Grenda:

We Need to Consider How to Structure the System So Money Actually Reaches the Patient

- We are certainly observing what is happening in Europe, and in Europe, we often compare ourselves to the GDP we are aiming for. We are on the right track, the budget is increasing record-high each year - stated Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda on PR3.

- This means [there are shortages] in limited benefits, but not in life-saving treatments or unlimited benefits. However, I think there comes a point where we genuinely lack revenue from health contributions - she continued.

- Up until - let's say - 2023, what flowed in from health contributions was sufficient. Today, we already know that we need support from budget subsidies, and this is the situation we are discussing. However, the funds are indeed record-breaking. I remember just a few years ago, when the budget of the National Health Fund and hospital budgets in general, at least for the hospitals I had the pleasure of managing, were around PLN 300 million. Last year, it was already PLN 1.2 billion, so every healthcare provider feels these very significant increases. However, we must consider how to organize this system so that this money actually reaches the patient and guarantees patient safety - she emphasized.

08:44

Talks with France on Nuclear Deterrence? Cenckiewicz: As the National Security Bureau, We Know No Details

- Minister Przydacz said that the President and his office are dealing with foreign policy, but I can also confirm from my perspective, as head of the National Security Bureau, that we know no details of such talks, negotiations [with France on nuclear deterrence]. If I'm not mistaken, a Polish-German military agreement was announced for March. We also know nothing about it. History is truly silent on this matter - said Sławomir Cenckiewicz on "Gość Radia ZET".

He was referring to the Prime Minister's post from yesterday.

08:46

Sobierańska-Grenda on Health Education as a Mandatory Subject:

We're Probably Starting to Mature Towards This Decision.

- I think that from what I'm observing at the moment, we are indeed probably starting to mature towards the decision that health education is needed in schools as a mandatory subject. And of course, setting aside all the disputes that concern ideology, I am in favor of us providing health education - stated Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda on PR3.

08:51

Cenckiewicz:

I Don't Believe France Will Share Its Nuclear Potential with Poland

- I don't believe, shall we say, that France will share its nuclear potential, even with such a wonderful ally as the Republic of Poland. I simply don't believe it, because one needs to understand this - said Sławomir Cenckiewicz on "Gość Radia ZET" (Radio ZET Guest).

- France defines its sovereignty, and independence in general, through the prism of its possessed weapons, and its conflicts within the NATO structure since the 1950s, withdrawing from military structures, and so on, are somewhat related to France wanting to have 100% control over its nuclear arsenal, which it doesn't want to share. It doesn't want to share it in the way Americans do within Nuclear Sharing. I apologize, but is France building its Nuclear Sharing? No, I don't think so - he continued.

08:58

Cenckiewicz on the Publication of the WSI Annex:

We Are Getting Closer.

- I doubt it will be in March, but we are getting closer [to the publication of the WSI annex]. Very, very close - Sławomir Cenckiewicz said on “Gość Radia ZET.”

- Certainly in March, the President will receive a proposed version of this annex, which had to be somewhat anonymized due to a Constitutional Tribunal ruling. That is, the President will receive a version after much analysis and work, which will allow him to finally decide on the disclosure of the annex - he explained.

09:15

Cenckiewicz on Middle East intel report:

It's a sign that Poland could become a target for some terrorists.

- But what would we discuss there with all representatives of political parties and government representatives? Well, unless some catastrophe occurs related to the imprisonment of Polish citizens who cannot get out of there, and if the situation demanded it. But it seems to me that at this stage it is completely unnecessary - said Sławomir Cenckiewicz in "Gość Radia ZET", when asked if the President plans to convene the National Security Council in connection with the war in the Middle East.

- Or if there was a drastic increase in the terrorist threat in Poland. Yesterday, from an intel report I received, an Iranian representative on Al Jazeera pointed to Poland as an ally of the United States, which has been noted in various types of our information. This is, of course, a certain lead, a certain sign related to the fact that Poland could become a state targeted by some terrorists - he indicated.

- But for today, there is simply no need. The President is being informed, the National Security Bureau (BBN) is also being informed, and he himself is like a producer of a lot of information, he is also an intermediary in relations between the government and the president. Today, there is the Security Committee [...] and there is a representative of the BBN there. It seems to me that there is no such need for now - he assessed.

He Reminded Everyone Why They Voted for Nawrocki in June. Morawiecki on Trzaskowski's Interview

- Rafał Trzaskowski, after a longer period of silence, decided to give an interview... and reminded everyone why they voted for Karol Nawrocki in June 2025 - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

Where is the evacuation plan for Poles in the Middle East? Błaszczak criticizes the government and speaks of a 'Bantustan'

- We want to show the difference in standards between the PiS government and the government of the December 13 coalition. The difference in government standards when a crisis occurs, when Polish citizens are outside our country and there is no reaction from the rulers as today, compared to the reaction of the PiS government at the time, a reaction related to the evacuation of our compatriots who found themselves in conflict zones - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.

- Above all, we demand a reaction from the government. We demand that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs functions, that the Prime Minister makes decisions, that there is no inertia. We ask: is the Minister of Foreign Affairs at work today, is he in Chobielin, or is he inspecting his estates like a count or a village headman? Where has Radosław Sikorski hidden? - he asked.

- And where is Donald Tusk? What actions is the government headed by Donald Tusk taking? Where is the evacuation plan for Polish citizens from the Middle East? Does this plan exist or not? I assume it doesn't. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs comes out and argues with journalists. This is the reaction of the December 13 coalition government - he stated.

- Are these the standards of a European country belonging to Western civilization, or the standards of some kind of Bantustan that is concerned only with staying in power, with fighting those who are inquisitive, who demand a reaction? - he continued.

- An evacuation plan for Poles who remain in the Middle East should be prepared and implemented immediately. Our diplomatic missions in the Middle East should be strengthened. They cannot be closed. They must operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. [...] We must act as neighboring countries and other European states are acting. Therefore, we must look for opportunities to support our compatriots, not leave everything to travel agencies and airlines - he listed.

11:42

PiS to Present Prime Ministerial Candidate. Błaszczak Announces Convention

- We cordially invite you, this coming Saturday in Krakow, President Jarosław Kaczyński will present the candidate for the office of Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland - of course, in the event that the nation entrusts Law and Justice with this top position after the parliamentary elections - announced Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.

12:02

Błaszczak on SAFE:

It's Meant to Push the United States Out of Europe.

- The SAFE program, a loan program, is unfavorable for Poland. Unfavorable because it is not a program for modernizing, financing the modernization of the armed forces, but rather a political program that, consequently, is intended to lead to Europe cutting itself off from the United States, to achieve so-called strategic autonomy under German leadership - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

- This is dangerous for Poland because German policy has always come down to arranging relations with Russia. And Germany negotiating with Russia is a mortal threat to Poland - he stated.

- And then there are the United States - SAFE loans are meant to push the United States out of Europe. Last Saturday showed the effectiveness and strength of the United States. Iran is an ally of Putin, and therefore everything that happened in Iran has weakened Putin. And it is in Poland's interest that Putin does not rebuild his empire - he argued.

12:04

Błaszczak:

SAFE Fund Leads to Loss of Poland's Sovereignty

- The SAFE loan fund leads to the loss of our country's sovereignty. It will make us dependent – if this loan is taken – on the whims of EU oligarchs, who will condition the allocation of money from this loan system to Poland on, for example, us being forced to accept migrants, to bow to rainbow ideology, that we will be forced to implement the madness associated with climate religion in Poland. The SAFE fund must be rejected - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

13:14

Tusk on the 'nasty narrative':

There is no problem regarding fuel reserves in Poland.

- Signals have emerged, or rather a rather nasty narrative, I must say, from some politicians concerning fuel. That it will run out soon and an attempt to incite panic. We know this from history; it often works effectively - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

- Someone starts talking in connection with some war or another situation, that there will definitely be a shortage of fuel and that soon people will start storming petrol stations, and then people do start storming petrol stations and buying fuel for reserve. Then there is trouble. I want to tell you that there is no problem when it comes to fuel reserves in Poland - he continued.

13:17

Tusk:

It Takes a Great Deal of Ill Will to Try and Destabilize the Situation in Our Country for No Reason

- The fill level of the system where we store fuel is over 73%, which is more than usual. That’s 3 million cubic meters of crude oil, and it's trending upwards, not downwards. I'm stating this with these specific figures to make the matter absolutely clear - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

- It takes a great deal of ill will, in a situation of such a powerful geopolitical crisis, with wars in several places – it's not by chance that some are saying World War III has effectively already begun, with so many states indirectly or directly involved in armed conflicts – to still try and destabilize the situation in our country for absolutely no reason - he continued.

13:20

Tusk on fuel prices:

Orlen will use available tools...

- We will not, of course, decide on the price of crude oil and natural gas on world exchanges, but Orlen, as a main player on this stage, is fully aware, we discussed this today with the Minister of State Assets, Orlen will use the tools available to it, also financial tools, I would say, for example, related to margins, so that any jumps in oil prices on world exchanges do not have a massive and very painful impact on fuel prices in Poland - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

13:32

Tusk after talks with UAE partners:

They will not be left to fend for themselves.

- We have no information or data to suggest that their [Poles'] safety, lives, or health are threatened in any way in connection with the conflict. Our partners in the United Arab Emirates also assure us that that state is taking on the obligation and fulfilling it of caring for all those who are stranded or whose vacation time is ending in the Emirates, so they will not be left to fend for themselves, but the problem, of course, is with all those who want or must return to the country for various reasons - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.

- I want to inform you that we are not here to stir up great emotions on this matter, but to perform tasks. We have been operating in crisis mode since Saturday, from the moment the first signals about risks related to the war appeared, concerning air transport etc. We have established a crisis management team, and today I instructed the Minister of Sport and Tourism to coordinate the work of the team that was appointed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but this team also includes representatives from ministries such as the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Infrastructure, hence aviation or tourism, as well as the coordinator for special services - he said.

- All of them have received regular support from our consular posts and, in cooperation with travel agencies, have left Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. Around 480 citizens are already in Poland or on their way to Poland - he continued.

13:39

Tusk:

No Pole Shall Be Left Without Help

- No Pole can and will remain without help when that help is necessary, but I also appeal to everyone, without exception, not to spread disinformation - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

- Panic is also completely unnecessary here. As of now, there is no direct threat to our citizens in their places of residence there in the Middle East - he continued.

13:42

Tusk:

Poland Will Not Be Passive Regarding Nuclear Security in a Military Context

"A summit on atomic energy will also take place in Paris in March. There I will have the opportunity to discuss this, not only with President Macron but also with our other European partners," stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

"Poland will not wish to be passive when it comes to nuclear security in a military context. We will cooperate with our allies, including with France, which has come forward with this specific offer. And as our autonomous capabilities grow, we will also strive to prepare Poland in the future for the most autonomous actions possible in this matter," he continued.

14:52

Szłapka:

The Polish Government and, Above All, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Have Been Operating in Crisis Mode Since Saturday

- The Polish government and, above all, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been operating in de facto crisis mode since Saturday. In the directly exposed, most difficult locations, which are Jordan, Libya, and Lebanon, there, in cooperation with travel agencies, but also, first and foremost, our consulates and our missions, helped almost 500 of our citizens to leave. A hotline is operational - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:53

Szłapka:

There is no threat of fuel shortages in Poland

- First and foremost, the fundamental information is that there is no threat of fuel shortages in Poland. Warehouses are operational, they are filled to the appropriate level, and we also have sufficiently diversified supply routes - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:53

Szłapka on the words of a PiS MP:

They are disqualifying.

- Regarding the statements of some PiS politicians, for example, one of the MPs, who speaks about the production of plants like Huta Stalowa Wola or plants in Tarnów, Poznań, Kędzierzyn, Skarżysko-Kamienna, as scrap metal, in my opinion, these statements are disqualifying in the public sphere. I remind you that, for example, the 'Piorun' [thunderbolt] missiles produced by a Polish company are so competitive that, for instance, Germany and France, and other countries, are expressing demand for them - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:59

Szłapka on SAFE:

We Are Appealing to Minister Błaszczak Again Not to Lie.

- The MP, former minister Błaszczak, is talking about the fact that it is still unknown what will be directed to the Polish armaments industry. Here you go, on Friday the entire grand map, including those subcontractors who cooperate with Polish armaments companies, with the Polish Armaments Group. That’s nearly 12,000 subcontractors. The entire map of Poland is very densely covered with these entities that will be able to benefit from SAFE – stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- As we have said, over 80% will go to the Polish armaments industry. We are appealing to Minister Błaszczak again not to lie – he stated.

15:06

Szłapka on SAFE:

Fully Sovereign, a Program Prepared by Poland, and No One Will Blackmail Us With It.

- The European Commission will be able to blackmail us – representatives of Confederation say, for example, on television programs. This is nonsense, of course. We have said this many times. Firstly, the SAFE program was prepared in its entirety, it is the result of the Polish presidency - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

- This is our heritage, one might say, a success of the Polish presidency. It was structured precisely to strengthen the European Union's defense industry, especially Poland's, and to strengthen Poland's security - he continued.

- This Polish part was prepared entirely by Polish generals, by the Polish army, and the European Commission did not change even a comma there. This is a fully sovereign program prepared by Poland, and no one will blackmail us with this program - he assured.

15:11

Szłapka:

Contracts with the USA Are and Will Be Fulfilled. The SAFE Program Is About Something Entirely Different

- The SAFE program allegedly prevents financing and acquiring armaments from the USA – this is, of course, nonsense. Contracts with the USA are being fulfilled and will continue to be fulfilled according to plan. The SAFE program is about something entirely different. It’s about strengthening Polish security and developing the Polish armaments industry, so we have greater capabilities, and these matters are complementary. In this case, coffee doesn’t exclude tea – stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

17:10

Czarzasty Appeals to Nawrocki:

I Propose Peace Between Us.

- Mr. President, I propose peace between us, if only for a moment, because the matter is important. Let's talk like a President with the Marshal of the Sejm - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in a recording published on social media.

- I appeal to you, please sign the SAFE. You see what is happening in Iran. You see what is happening in Venezuela. You see what is constantly happening in Ukraine. Poland must be strong. The Polish army must be strong. Poland must be strong in the European Union. Poland must be strong in NATO. We must establish - regardless of the difficulties - the best possible relations with the United States - the Marshal of the Sejm continued.

- Please reject bad advisors, please reject bad whispers. I will do my part. Do not take money away from the Polish army. I appeal to you, please do this in the name of the country for which you are President, and I am the Marshal of the Sejm - he concluded.

17:52

Sikorski:

Expect the Unexpected from the Iranian Regime; Embassy Security Heightened

- Iran has attacked third countries in the past. Now it has attacked countries that are not attacking Iran. So, one can expect anything from this regime. That is why, among other things, we have strengthened the security of our embassies - said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

17:56

Sikorski to PiS:

It's Exceptionally Mean That the Opposition Can't Keep at Least One Topic Out of the Sphere of Party Rivalry.

- I believe it's exceptionally mean that the opposition cannot keep at least one topic out of the sphere of party rivalry. When we provide consular assistance, we don't check what views someone holds or what their party affiliation is. After all, every successive government tries to act in the interest of our compatriots - said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

18:08

Sikorski Appeals to Tourists:

The State Treasury Often Has to Cover the Consequences of Irresponsibility.

- At the same time, unfortunately, there are also events such as young tourists flying to the Middle East region, contrary to previous, repeated, firm warnings and in defiance of the recent not only warnings, but even in the face of a war situation. I kindly ask for responsibility for yourselves and also for the country, because the consequences of irresponsibility often have to be covered by the State Treasury - said Radosław Sikorski at a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

20:14

Siemoniak:

We Must Expect Terrorist Actions as Iran's Response

- Iran, if it was known for anything, it was known for being a country that sponsored terrorism in many countries, terrorist organizations. And we must count on the fact that terrorist actions will be an element of Iran's response, and in many countries, various levels of threat and engagement of security services have been raised, particularly concerning American and Israeli facilities - said Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Marek Tejchman on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

20:15

Siemoniak on Cenczkiewicz's Remarks:

A Rather Unserious Statement.

"This is a rather unserious statement. It's a bit weak, if the head of the National Security Bureau says he received a note that someone said something on television. So I wouldn't want to comment on it specifically." - said Tomasz Siemoniak on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

He was referring to the morning remarks made by Sławomir Cenczkiewicz in this way.

20:19

Siemoniak on Fuel Reserves:

We Are Relatively Safe.

- When it comes to fuels, we are relatively safe here, because the level of reserves, the situation of Orlen, our largest company, provides peace of mind for the coming months. Moreover, the channels through which crude oil flows to us are not the Strait of Hormuz, it's not a place where the greatest danger lies - said Tomasz Siemoniak in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:29

Siemoniak on SAFE:

The Commander-in-Chief Should Sign This Law.

- I know how the commander-in-chief of the armed forces should behave – he should sign this law [regarding SAFE]. However, what the president will do in this particular matter? We all truly hope that this time he will rise above party divisions. Because the price we will pay for this veto, above all, will be very high – said Tomasz Siemoniak in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:55

Czarnek:

We Must Never Allow Poland to Be Tied to the SAFE Loan, a German Loan

- We must never allow Poland to be tied to the SAFE loan, which is a German loan. As we heard from the minister responsible for SAFE, we still don't know how much of this loan we will have to repay to Ukraine, and this is the subject of our negotiations with Ukraine. This means that SAFE is a loan we are taking on terms that are not fully known, and from which we will have to return an entirely unknown portion to Ukraine; it is subject to negotiation - stated Przemysław Czarnek on TV Republika.

21:07

Czarnek:

PiS Launches Full Offensive from Saturday

- Today, PiS, starting from Saturday, March 7th, is launching a full offensive. We have been working on this offensive, systematically beginning these efforts with the programmatic convention in Katowice in the middle of last year, through the work of program teams, and then through the individual alternatives prepared by the head of the Program Council, Professor Gliński - stated Przemysław Czarnek on TV Republika.
