Wednesday's Political Agenda: Sejm on the National Council of the Judiciary, Nawrocki Continues in Davos, Kosiniak-Kamysz Meets Latvian Defense Minister, Senate Session Begins

At 12:00 PM at the Ministry of National Defence headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the ministry, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, will meet with Andris Sprūdss, the Latvian Minister of Defence. Around 1:25 PM, the ministers will make statements.

The President in Davos

On Wednesday, President Karol Nawrocki will continue his visit to Davos. At 10:15 AM, the head of the Polish state will participate in a discussion titled "Can Europe Defend Itself?".

A meeting between Karol Nawrocki and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, is scheduled for 11:30 AM. Subsequently, at 12:00 PM, the Polish President will take part in an informal meeting of world economic leaders.

At 2:30 PM, the President of the Republic of Poland is expected to attend a special session hosted by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Sejm on the National Council of the Judiciary

The three-day Sejm session begins on Wednesday. Among other items, deputies will proceed with the first reading of the government's draft bill aimed at restoring the right to an independent and impartial court established by law, by regulating the effects of resolutions adopted by the National Council of the Judiciary between 2018 and 2025. This point will be considered at 10:00 AM.

At 1:00 PM, the first reading of the government's draft amendment to the Act on the National Council of the Judiciary and the Electoral Code will take place. The purpose is to introduce new rules for the election of judges to the KRS.

Further items on the agenda include the second reading of the government's draft amendment to the Act on the National Cybersecurity System. This point will be considered at 7:00 PM.

Press Conferences in the Sejm

At 9:00 AM, a press conference will be held by the Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty.

At 9:45 AM, a press conference by the PSL is scheduled, with the participation of Krzysztof Paszyk and Piotr Zgorzelski.

At 11:00 AM, a press conference with Anna Krupka and other PiS female deputies will begin.

At 12:00 PM, another PiS press conference is scheduled, this time with the participation of Sebastian Kaleta, Urszula Rusecka, and Mirosława Stachowik-Różecka.

Start of the Senate Session

The two-day Senate session will commence at 11:00 AM. Earlier, at 10:50 AM, a press briefing by Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is planned.
