Siemoniak:
We're Continuing the Fight Against the President's Unconstitutional Expansion of Powers
- An absurd argument - said Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Renata Grochal on "Bez uników" on Trójka, when asked about Zbigniew Bogucki's statement that the president swore in two Constitutional Tribunal judges because two vacancies arose during the president's term.
- The world didn't just begin, perhaps Minister Bogucki thinks so, but the world didn't begin with the start of President Nawrocki's term, so this explanation is clearly acting in bad faith - he continued.
- It is the Sejm that elects judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, it is the Sejm that decides who they are, and the president has a role described as completing the formalities, and that's it, and he has no power over who becomes a judge and who does not - he went on to say.
- We are continuing the fight to expand the powers, an unconstitutional expansion of President Nawrocki's powers, and if this were the only area, one might wonder if there's really something to it, but no, we have blocked ambassadorial appointments, we have blocked officer appointments in the Internal Security Agency, there are problems with judges, professors - he added.
- This is an attempt to provoke another war, and Mr. Minister Bogucki appears as a kind of defender who will justify anything and doesn't even consider the level of his argumentation - he stressed.
