Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government Session, PiS Conference Outside Prosecutor's Office, President Meets Zmarzlik

At 11:00 AM in Warsaw, a press conference will be held by the leader of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, Michał Woś, and PiS parliamentarians.

At 12:00 PM, a session of the Council of Ministers will commence. The agenda includes, among other items, a draft bill to increase the CIT tax for banks. Ministers will also address a draft record concerning the enhancement of the state's defense capabilities, including against hybrid activities.

At 1:00 PM, at the Presidential Palace, President Karol Nawrocki will meet with individual and team Speedway World Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik.

08:05

Nawrocki:

I Believe Preparing for War Guarantees Peace

- I believe that preparing for war is a guarantee of peace, and thus 5% of GDP for the armed forces, buying the best equipment from all over the world, investing in the Polish soldier, including enlisted men, and increasing the Polish army. This is how you simply buy peace - stated President Karol Nawrocki in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

08:08

Nawrocki:

September 10th Should Also Be a Lesson

- I think September 10th should also be a lesson. It is not just an experience, unique in the history of the Third Polish Republic and NATO states, but it is also a lesson for all of us, which should force us – and thanks to the National Security Council, it has – to reflect on anti-drone systems, on developing precisely this type of tool for combating hybrid warfare. And this is how we view September 10th, regardless of what happened in Wyryki itself – stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:14

Nawrocki announces meeting with Sikorski:

I hope we will reach an agreement.

- In October, such a meeting [with Radosław Sikorski] will take place, where we will discuss our expectations regarding the repair of the situation in Polish diplomacy. It is a disturbing situation that we do not have our ambassadors in at least half of our diplomatic missions. The president's constitutional prerogatives must be preserved, and I hope we will somehow reach an agreement. I think it will be in the first half of October - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:15

Nawrocki supports Hołownia’s candidacy for a UN position:

He is fully qualified for this role.

- There was no deal. I support Polish candidates, I will support Polish candidates on the international stage. And by the way, I believe that Marshal Szymon Hołownia is fully qualified for this role [United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees] - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:20

Nawrocki's Signal to Ambassador Candidates:

For the Good of Poland, They Should Not Make Unnecessary Moves.

- Immediately, through Radio Zet, I can also send a signal to all ambassadors and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, appealing to ambassador candidates that before their candidacies are preliminarily accepted by the President of Poland, who has the constitutional authority to appoint ambassadors, they should not enter the parliamentary commission procedures, they should not accept the proposals of the Polish government - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

- Of course, let them talk with Minister Sikorski, but let's reach a situation where, without the preliminary acceptance of the President of Poland, who guarantees that such an ambassador, once they have gone through the entire procedure, will be signed, they should not make unnecessary moves for the good of Poland, which will end in a lack of nomination - he continued.

08:23

Schnepf and Klich as Ambassadors? President's Clear Declaration

- There is no possibility that Mr. Schnepf and Mr. Klich will receive my signature as ambassadors, so I don't know what the editor is talking about - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:27

Nawrocki Responds to Question of Whether He Will Obey Kaczyński's Orders

- I will not be taking orders from President Kaczyński - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:28

100% Trust in Tusk? Nawrocki Responds

- Absolutely not [I do not have 100% trust in Prime Minister Tusk] - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:32

Nawrocki Cites Constitutional Tribunal Ruling, Declares Commission Illegal:

The Minister Handled It Excellently.

- I watched parts of it, of course not the entire hearing [of Zbigniew Ziobro], my duties didn't allow for that. According to my information, and in line with the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling, this commission is illegal, just as Minister Ziobro himself says, but the minister handled himself excellently at this commission. That's the impression I'll remember. However, it is somewhat concerning that this commission and similar issues in the public sphere are intended to be an alternative to solving the real problems of Poles - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

08:34

Nawrocki Asked What He Used at the UN:

Allowed and Widely Available.

- To the best of my knowledge, snus and nicotine pouches are one and the same - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet, when asked what he used during his visit to the UN.

To Bogdan Rymanowski’s remark that they are not the same, he replied: - Then I am not a specialist. But in any case, it is allowed, widely available at gas stations, in many chain stores. These are nicotine pouches, which – I will repeat this again – I do not recommend.

- A nicotine pouch arouses so much interest, while at the UN forum in many places, in the surrounding area throughout New York, many delegates, presidents, their entourages smoke cigarettes, cigars, […] whereas a nicotine pouch arouses such great interest, but probably only in Poland - he stated.

- So there is an attempt to say that a cigarette is okay, even if we were to light one on the balcony of a hotel or tenement house, perhaps with a pleasant guest, then it's cool. Or on the stairs of a building, then it’s cool, some sheriff smoking a cigarette. […] But if someone uses a nicotine pouch, then a big question arises and a terrible tragedy. It's ridiculous - he assessed.

Can Ukraine Reclaim Its Territories? Sikorski: Trump Certainly Knows What He's Saying, We Root for It, the Question is What He Will Do

- If President Donald Trump said so, then he certainly knows what he's saying. We are rooting for it, the question is what he will do in this matter. For example, will he fulfill Ukraine's requests for certain types of weapons? - said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Renata Grochal on the program "Bez uników" on Trójka, when asked about Donald Trump's words that Ukraine can reclaim its territories.

08:41

Nawrocki:

Trump is the Only Free World Leader Who Can Negotiate with Putin

- I was neither convinced at the time President Trump gave his interviews that anything was amiss, nor did I have direct contact with him, nor do I believe any radical change has occurred. There has been a change in narrative. I have been in contact with President Trump for over a month, we have had several conversations, including by phone. So I was convinced that he understood the essence of what is happening due to Russia. I have been reassured the entire time - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

- President Trump is the only leader of the free world who can undertake negotiations with Vladimir Putin. Of course, the direction of these negotiations, what tools he will choose, I encourage him to choose the hardest possible tools in relation to Russia, what tools he selects is his decision, his choice, but he is the only person in the world who can undertake such negotiations - he continued.

08:43

Sikorski:

We are doing everything to prevent war

- We are doing everything to prevent it. Putin would be insane to attack NATO. But he attacked Ukraine based on hyper-optimistic premises and was very mistaken. So, the fact that he doesn't have the capacity to conquer even Donbas, let alone NATO, doesn't mean he can't make another catastrophic mistake - said Radosław Sikorski on Trójka, when asked if there would be a war.

08:48

Sikorski on Relations with Nawrocki:

Polish Patriots Abroad Should Cooperate Closely.

- We made personal contact for the first time. Polish patriots abroad should cooperate closely - said Radosław Sikorski on Trójka, when asked about the situation where he sat next to President Karol Nawrocki at the UN General Assembly and they both smiled.

- I hope so, we have important international issues, after all. The President, in accordance with the Constitution, represents the foreign policy created by the government, and to represent it effectively, he must, of course, be aware of it - he continued, regarding whether there would be any concrete outcomes from this contact.

08:56

Sikorski on the Ambassador Appointments and the President's Role:

I See No Reason Not to Sign Properly Submitted Applications.

- On the President's desk lie applications for candidates [for ambassadors] who have received a positive opinion from the convention, sometimes unanimously, and a positive opinion from the foreign affairs committee, sometimes also unanimously. Therefore, I see no reason not to sign properly submitted applications - said Radosław Sikorski on Trójka.

09:02

Demanding Reparations from Russia? Nawrocki: It Would Mean We Treat Today's Russia as a Normal, Democratic State

- Demanding reparations from Russia publicly today is very dangerous, because it would mean we are treating Russia as a normal state, a state that adheres to democratic and diplomatic rigor. It would be a slap in the face, I think, for Berlin, if we treated today's Moscow the same way as Berlin - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

- Russia today kills women, children, innocent victims every day, violating international law. [...] Of course, in a historical sense, these reparations are due to Poland, but coming out today with the issue of reparations to Moscow, to Russia, which behaves in a certain way, firstly, would certainly be impossible to implement, and these demands would be impossible for Moscow to fulfill - he continued.

- And on the other hand, it would place Moscow and Berlin on the same level of dialogue with the Republic of Poland. So it is something completely illogical. We demand reparations from a state that is democratic, that is our partner in the EU, in NATO, that adheres to diplomatic rigor in mutual relations [...], and we do not demand them from those who are dictators, murderers. We do not demand them today, because this dialogue is profoundly difficult - he pointed out.

In his opinion: - If Russia were a democratic state for several decades, ready for dialogue at the level at which Germany is ready today, then of course we should return to it.

09:04

Sikorski as Prime Minister instead of Tusk? A Clear Answer from the Minister of Foreign Affairs

- I will not - said Radosław Sikorski on the air of Radio Trójka, when asked if he would be prime minister.

- No - he continued, answering the latter part of the question: whether he would replace Prime Minister Donald Tusk by the end of his term.

09:10

Hołownia as High Commissioner for Refugees? Sikorski: We Support This Candidacy, But It's a Decision for the UN Secretary-General, Whom the President Spoke With

- Szymon Hołownia has extensive experience in charitable work in Africa, he has won the sympathy of several presidents from that continent, so this gives him a basis to apply for such a position, and besides, he is an important Polish politician - said Radosław Sikorski on Trójka, when asked if Szymon Hołownia has such great talent to become the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and if he (the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) has the connections to arrange it.

- Indeed, we support this candidacy, but it is a personal decision of the UN Secretary-General, with whom President Karol Nawrocki spoke last week - he continued, when asked about the "diplomatic offensive" concerning Hołownia's efforts.

- I think it's unfair, because we support Poles in their pursuit of significant positions in the international system, so let's not harm these candidates and poison their lives, while at the same time saying that if they are trying, they are fleeing - he went on to say, when asked if Hołownia's move was an escape from domestic politics.

- The fact that Szymon Hołownia has planned his career path this way and not another is his right. My role is to lobby for the appointment of Poles to the highest possible positions - he added, when asked about Hołownia leaving his political party.

09:14

Nawrocki:

I hope Minister Nowacka will address with the same diligence that Trzaskowski also withdrew his children from health education

- I hope that now the minister [Barbara Nowacka] will address with the same diligence the words of my presidential election opponent, Rafał Trzaskowski, who also, as far as I know, withdrew his children from health education. And I hope the minister will address this matter – stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

- I think the minister should not be shocked by my words, my family decisions regarding health education, but she should be shocked by how many parents opted out of the program that seemed to be her flagship initiative – he added.

09:23

The Day is Being Chosen': Nawrocki Announces Bill to Lower Electricity Prices by 33%

- Yesterday I discussed this with my ministers. We are currently choosing the day on which we will present the draft bill aiming to lower electricity prices by 33%. This legislative initiative has been prepared; it’s a matter of announcing it - stated President Karol Nawrocki on Radio Zet.

- I think, Mr. Wojciech [addressing a listener asking a question - ed.], that you will hear my solution in November. So I will fit my initiative within the 100-day timeframe - he announced.

10:01

Trzaskowski Cuts Short Speculation:

To All Those Interested in My Family...

- To all those interested in my family, I inform you that my son will attend health education classes (in a mixed-grade, inter-class group). I encourage everyone else to participate in this very much needed subject - wrote Rafał Trzaskowski on social media.

10:19

Tusk on Inflation:

The Most Important and Most Difficult Electoral Promise Fulfilled.

- Inflation, as in August, below 3 percent. The most important and most difficult electoral promise, which is the end of PiS-induced high prices, has been fulfilled. We act, we don't talk - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

11:51

PiS Defends Woś Against the National Prosecutor's Office:

We Want to Send a Message to the Rulers.

- Yesterday, Minister Zbigniew Ziobro exposed lies, exposed the manipulations of the pseudo-committee. A pseudo-committee appointed to repress the opposition, because this pseudo-committee has explained nothing and will explain nothing – said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference in front of the National Prosecutor's Office.

- The charge brought against Minister Woś originates from an inspection by Marian Banaś's Supreme Audit Office [...] the charge from the Supreme Audit Office states that the system was purchased from the wrong budget compartment, from which it allegedly should have been purchased. This is an absurdity. The state budget is uniform – he continued.

-- We have gathered here today to protest against lawlessness, we have gathered here today to support Minister Michał Woś, and we want to send a message today to the rulers, so they remember that their rule will not last forever and that for breaking the law, sooner or later they will answer – he went on to say.

12:07

They Invented That They Need to Distract. That They Need to Prosecute for Anything. Woś on the Pegasus Case

- The matter is absolutely clear. If Donald Tusk is unable to show that there was any illegal surveillance, and as we know, he is unable to, because these 550 cases over 5 years [...] and each one confirmed by a court [...] if no evidence, no arguments were found, they have been governing for two years, they have all the tools, they haven't provided a single example of illegal use of operational control, then they invented that they need to distract. That they need to prosecute for anything and they invented far-fetched charges - said Michał Woś at a press conference in front of the National Prosecutor's Office.

- What did they invent to convince public opinion that it was money for victims of crime, while closing their eyes to one thing, that the law clearly states crime prevention. They say it couldn't be spent, but in the law regulating the fund and subsidies, these co-financing, it is stated unequivocally what these funds are to be used for: for activities related to supporting public finance sector units, i.e., for example, the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA), for crime detection - he continued.

- Please show me a more appropriate example of what these funds can be transferred for, if not for equipment for the Central Anticorruption Bureau for crime detection, i.e., for catching criminals - he went on to say.

12:19

Żurek Seeks to Lift Święczkowski's Immunity; Constitutional Tribunal Application Filed

- Today, Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek filed an application with the Constitutional Tribunal to bring to criminal responsibility a judge of this court, Mr. Bogdan Święczkowski. This application was formulated within the proceedings of Investigation Team No. 3 of the National Public Prosecutor's Office - [...] the scope of the proceedings conducted by this team was to examine the justification, legality, and correctness of the use of software named Pegasus by public officials - informed Prosecutor Anna Adamiak, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General.

- In the assessment of the prosecutor conducting the proceedings, [...] the evidentiary material gathered so far creates a sufficiently justified suspicion that Mr. Bogdan Święczkowski, [...] while performing the duties of National Public Prosecutor - this occurred from June 2020 to July 2021 - by directing the commission of an offense prohibited by Prosecutor Paweł Wilkoszewski, exceeded his authority - she continued.

12:25

Tusk Presents a Chart During a Government Session:

A Practical Result of Our Effective Fight Against Inflation.

- You see this? This is a practical result of our effective fight against inflation. Today, we are pleased and have reasons to be, with another reading concerning inflation in September. It's still provisional, but it would be another month with inflation below 3%. Sometimes it seems that the words 'inflation,' 'low inflation,' are abstract, that they don't have a significant impact on people's lives. But what I've shown is the so-called growth in disposable income in Polish families - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

12:30

Woś:

Bodnar, Żurek, Tusk Will Go to Jail Sooner or Later

- Truth will prevail, Bodnar, Żurek, and Tusk will be defeated, and in the end, sooner or later, they will go to jail, and as I said, truth will prevail - Michał Woś said at a press conference in front of the National Public Prosecutor's Office.

12:31

Tusk:

It's Better to Tax Banks Than Polish Families

- It is better to tax banks than Polish families. Especially since banks are in very good financial condition. This will not affect their actual condition in any way. It will be a greater burden, but who should be burdened if not those who have the most money? This is not populism, but a rather obvious conclusion - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

15:08

Szłapka on the Bank Taxation Bill:

We Do Not Want to Tax Families Any Further.

"We do not want to tax families or simply Poles any further. I think that the strongest, those who are doing best, but who also benefited from the very high inflation that occurred in Poland in previous years, can simply share these profits," stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Prime Minister's Chancellery.

15:12

Szłapka:

Poland Will Not Send Troops to Ukraine

"Poland will not send troops to Ukraine, so we are emphasizing this once again and appealing for all such information to be unequivocally denied," stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

15:37

Szłapka on Hołownia's UN Candidacy:

From Poland's Perspective, It's a Strengthening Solution.

- He [Szymon Hołownia] submitted such an application. From Poland's perspective, it is, of course, a strengthening solution. There are many strong candidacies for this position [at the UN], but Poland will support this candidacy because we want Poles to hold the most important positions in international institutions. This, of course, requires cooperation from the government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and also the President. I think this cooperation will happen - stated Adam Szłapka at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

15:52

Woś After Interrogation at the Prosecutor's Office:

They Announced 10 Years of Imprisonment.

- I handed over those 25 million from the state budget, which the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau received, and they classified it as a benefit achieved by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. And in the assessment of the neo-prosecutors Bodnar's men, Żurek's men, Tusk's men, this is a crime. In the Polish state, equipment for catching criminals, thugs, is considered a bribe in their eyes - said Michał Woś in an interview with TV Republika after his interrogation at the prosecutor's office.

- I submitted a declaration of the complete illegality of this action, primarily due to the fact that my request to lift immunity [...] Mr. Korneluk himself signed it [...] and according to the declaration, according to the Supreme Court's ruling, Mr. Korneluk is not the National Prosecutor, so he could not make such a request, and therefore, immunity has not been effectively lifted. So, I only submitted appropriate declarations about the unlawful actions of these individuals - he continued.

- They announced 10 years of imprisonment - he further stated when asked what he faces for the alleged offenses.

- I am optimistic. These people face not only 10 years, but under Articles 127 and 128, for attempting a coup, attempting to overthrow constitutional state organs, unlawfully violating the law, participating in the so-called doctrine of fighting democracy, carrying out Donald Tusk's orders – they face life imprisonment. So, we will manage these 10 years, ladies and gentlemen - he added.

16:25

Kierwiński Does Not Rule Out Reporting Święczkowski to the Prosecutor's Office

- Police officers were doing their job, there was a court order. Everything in this matter is clear. It is a very bad practice when politicians believe they are made of a different clay than other citizens. [...] Those times are over, and regardless of what threats Minister Ziobro throws, he must reckon with the fact that he will be held accountable like any other citizen - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press briefing in Świnoujście.

- Something scandalous, and I say this with full responsibility, was the letter from the judge, formerly the head of services, and even earlier a prosecutor, Święczkowski, which in my opinion bears the hallmarks of an attempt to intimidate officers. After a thorough legal analysis [...] I will probably decide to file a report with the prosecutor's office regarding the possibility of Mr. Święczkowski committing a crime in connection with this disgraceful letter he sent to the Chief of Police - he declared.

- The President of the Constitutional Tribunal should stand firm behind Polish officers, not defend his buddy - he added.

16:42

PO Once Again Demonstrates Lack of Agency. Morawiecki on 'Putting CPK on the Shelf'

- PO is once again showing its lack of agency. Instead of building the CPK, we are constantly hearing 'it can't be done.' We have delays, we have the exclusion of further cities from this grand program. And the world is moving forward; Vietnam is investing in a gigantic airport in 5 years, dubbed the Asian CPK - said Mateusz Morawiecki in a clip published on social media.

- Meanwhile, the Industrial Development Agency is to support, mind you, the construction of a large airport in Odesa. We are effectively putting the CPK in Poland on the shelf, while money and energy are to go abroad. We need investment here. We need an influx of capital. CPK means development, CPK means jobs, it means security. Poland must act boldly, otherwise, all we'll be left with is Berlin airport - the former prime minister emphasized.

16:43

Święczkowski Responds to Żurek:

A Disgraceful Political Farce.

- The motion by Waldemar Żurek aimed at lifting my immunity as a Constitutional Tribunal judge is a disgraceful political farce, an affront to the government representative making it. It stems from the Supreme Prosecutor General Minister of Justice's embarrassing ignorance of the law - Bogdan Święczkowski wrote in a statement.

- All decisions and orders issued by me during my tenure as National Prosecutor were in accordance with the law and fell within the competencies granted to me by the Act on the Prosecution Service - he indicated.

- In view of the above, the motions against me and Prosecutor Paweł Wilkoszewski are completely irrelevant and unsupported by any evidence - he added.

20:16

Sikorski:

I am always at the President's disposal

- I am always at the disposal of Mr. President [Karol Nawrocki] - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info.

- My expectations are that the President, in accordance with the Constitution and the law, will sign the applications submitted in accordance with the law - the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued.

20:19

"This is worth considering': Sikorski on Ambassadorial Nominations

- I hope we reach an agreement. After all, the president can also have his own personnel ideas. Sometimes he might have an interesting candidate. Polish diplomacy should, in principle, be professional, meaning that the vast majority of posts should be held by professional diplomats, but there are places and moments where sending a politician, a general, or even a journalist makes sense. It has happened, and of course, it is worth considering - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info.

20:19

Żurek:

I'd like to see faith restored that we can have an independent judiciary and prosecution service

- Perhaps I also have such an episode where I'm going for something, to reform something, to restore faith that we can have an independent judiciary, an independent prosecution service. I'd like it to succeed. Maybe I'm naive, but we're trying - said Waldemar Żurek in an interview with Krzysztof Stanowski on the program 'Godzina Zero' (Zero Hour).

20:22

Sikorski on the President's accusations against Schnepf and Klich:

I'd also like to hear some substantive arguments.

- Just a moment. I'd also like to hear some substantive arguments, because someone having the wrong ancestor is not a sufficient argument - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info.

- At the same time, Senator Klich spent a year in prison during communism, so a bit of respect is also due - he continued.

20:29

Żurek on Actions to Restore the Rule of Law:

Sometimes It's Like Breaking a Hand So It Can Function.

- We can go back to what my orthopedist tells me. [...] I say: restoring the rule of law is difficult, and he says: you know, a patient comes to me with a broken arm, but the arm was broken 6 years ago. He didn't come because he thought it would pass, or he couldn't come, it healed crookedly [...] it will hurt, the rehabilitation will take a long time, but he breaks his arm so that he can use that arm - said Waldemar Żurek on Kanał Zero.

- All these actions of mine, which are sometimes like breaking a hand, in order to restore the state of authority to this hand, so that it can truly function, I am aware that the legal entanglement created by PiS and its coalition partners here is so significant - he continued.

20:32

Sikorski on Submitted Nominations:

If There Are No Full Ambassadors, It's Because the President Isn't Signing Them.

- The nominations were submitted in accordance with the law. If there are no full ambassadors, it's because the president isn't signing them. I remind you, Andrzej Duda also had his doubts, but in the end, he signed many nominations - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVP Info.

21:09

Żurek:

I Submit Asset Declarations, But Don't Make Them Public. They Could Become a Guide for My Opponents

- I am aware that when you live in small towns or have your roots there, not in a big city where we are anonymous, my asset declarations could become a guide for people who are not favorable to me - said Waldemar Żurek on Kanał Zero.

- If there were no threats, break-ins, property damage, and various other incidents that have happened to me, I don't know if they've happened to you, sir, but it's not pleasant - he continued.

- My asset declaration was made confidential by a president chosen by PiS, after he saw all these threats and the real investigations that ended with the perpetrator not being identified. I am talking about this and I am sorry, because I remember how my family experienced it - he went on to say.

- There is such a law. I know this law is to change, and when it changes, I will completely abide by the law, these are my principles. [...] I would prefer, honestly speaking, for politicians to have an obligation, but we also have to protect them - he added.

- No, I submit them, but I don't make them public - he emphasized, when asked if he felt it was inappropriate that he, as the Minister of Justice, does not submit asset declarations, while other ministers do.

21:15

Czarzasty:

I Wish Hołownia Luck. It's Good When Poles, Regardless of PiS, PL2050, or PO Affiliation, Advance in International Structures

- I wish him luck. It's good when our people, Poles, regardless of whether they are from PiS, Poland 2050, or Civic Platform, advance in international structures - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I understand that at this moment, the situation is such that the President primarily, and Mr. Sikorski, [...] will be involved in this matter. Because if Mr. Szymon Hołownia has made such a decision [to run for the position of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees], then it seems to me that without the support of the government and without the support of the power structures in Poland, nothing can be done in this matter - he stated.

21:17

Żurek Proposes Changes to Divorce Law:

This is my idea, I want to put it out there.

"We have a bill being processed which I am simply supporting. Parents don't have children. They no longer want to live together, and we are forcefully telling them: you must live together, or you get divorced, and divorce takes a very long time, and this, in a way, crushes the courts," said Waldemar Żurek on Kanał Zero.

"An uncontested divorce, where there are no children. We want to do this at the Civil Registry Office, and there is agreement on this from the coalition partners. I was very happy, because when I joined the government, this agreement suddenly blossomed. I hope it existed before," he continued.

"I will pilot this project, I will bring it to a successful conclusion. You go to the Civil Registry Office, you say: sorry, but we don't want to live together, no one will force us. We bypass the court, we bypass witnesses assessing fault, this whole cauldron which sometimes generates new cases," he went on to say.

"I want to see if it's possible to go a step further and say: you have minor children, but you can no longer live together [...] you go to a notary, you create a parental care plan, you agree on shared custody, for example [...] everything is agreed upon, who spends holidays when, who picks up the child, we don't rule on fault," he added.

"You will reach an agreement at the notary [...] and then you divorce amicably, if you first agree on everything in the initial notarial deed. This is my idea, it's not even a project yet, I want to put it out there," he emphasized.

21:30

Hołownia's Decision: An Evacuation from Polish Politics? Czarzasty: I Wouldn't Make Such a Move Mid-Term

- Are you surprised by Szymon Hołownia's move? Isn't this an evacuation from Polish politics? - Bogdan Rymanowski asked on Polsat News' 'Gość Wydarzeń' (Guest of Events).

- I feel awkward talking about this. […] The coalition is important to me. I believe in this coalition and I know that it will be 2 good years. And I truly strongly believe that the next 4 years under this coalition will also be good for Poland. Therefore, I can answer your question in this way: I would not make such a move mid-term, but everyone has the right to their own decisions - Włodzimierz Czarzasty replied.

To the question of whether Hołownia's move is 'desertion', he responded: - I believe I should be particularly responsible in difficult times, and these are difficult times. Therefore, my comment that I would not do it is probably sufficient.

- He has the right to make decisions. […] I think his colleagues must now think very carefully about the matter within the party, the club. Because the departure of one leader always leads to the election of another leader. […] They must make sensible decisions, we are counting on them to ensure everything is calm, sensible, and wise - he indicated.

21:39

Czarzasty:

I Haven't Seen Smiles Towards PiS in the Coalition; My Eyesight is Eagle-Sharp

- I know one thing: the members of this party and the MPs of this party [Poland 2050] will certainly not be binding themselves to PiS or Konfederacja - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News' "Graffiti."

- If anyone has this thesis that, for example, someone from the parties forming the coalition is smiling towards PiS, I deny it - I haven't seen such smiles, and my eyesight is eagle-sharp - he emphasized.
