- Many wise people have formulated many different aphorisms and symbolic sentences on the topic of speaking and silence, and one of them states that speech is silver, but silence is golden - stated President Andrzej Duda in an interview for wPolsce24, when asked if he didn't have the impression that his wife, by deciding not to cooperate with the media, had created room for descriptions like "the silent First Lady."
- Please remember that, as my wife always told me: Andrzej, it was you who were elected to the office of President of the Republic of Poland, it was you who engaged in politics, I don't want to comment on political topics, and they are trying to force me to do so, and if I start to comment, they will force me to comment on political topics, just as various kinds of traps were set for Mrs. President Maria Kaczyńska, who served as a somewhat cautionary example for my wife, and that simply, this so-called salon is ruthless and will exploit any weakness of a person who has essentially never been involved in politics in her life and does not know certain methods of playing political games - he continued.
- Therefore, my wife said: I will deal with what I consider appropriate regarding the role of the First Lady, and I will fulfill this role as I see fit. And she believed that she would fulfill this role away from the media. Everyone can judge it as they wish, and I'll say it openly - my wife isn't particularly interested in how it was assessed. What interested her most were the results of her work, and those were truly excellent - he went on to say.
- For those whom my wife served with her support, with her help, these results were in most cases truly excellent [...]. My wife said: I want to bring good to people, not for the cameras to film it and not for the media to comment on it, but to improve people's situations and to help them in a real way - he added.
