At 8:15 AM in Warsaw, a press conference will be held by the chairman of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, along with Andrzej Śliwka and Sebastian Łukasiewicz.

At 10:30 AM, the parliamentary commission for justice and human rights is scheduled to hear information from the President of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) regarding media reports about the circumstances of acquiring an apartment located in Gdańsk.

At 12:00 PM in Warsaw, an event will take place with the participation of Marta Nawrocka, wife of the presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki.

At 12:00 PM, the Pegasus investigative committee will attempt – likely unsuccessfully again – to question Maciej Wąsik, followed by Mariusz Kamiński.

In Nancy, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will participate in the ceremony for the signing of the Treaty on Enhanced Cooperation and Friendship between the Republic of Poland and the French Republic. The welcome of the head of government by President Emmanuel Macron is planned for 12:45 PM, followed by an official breakfast at 1:00 PM, and a delegation meeting at 2:40 PM.

At 4:00 PM, the treaty signing ceremony will take place, and at 4:15 PM, a press meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled.

PiS Vice-Chairman Mateusz Morawiecki will be visiting the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. A press conference will be held at 3:30 PM in Ruda Maleniecka, and the former Prime Minister will be in Końskie at 4:30 PM. – Of course, he should [Donald Tusk should meet with Last Generation] – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on "Poranek TOK FM".

– I often don't understand my coalition partner. […] Frankly, to be honest, we haven't discussed this topic – he continued, when asked why he wasn't doing so and how he understood his coalition partner.

– To be clear, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them [people from Last Generation], because I believe that one simply has to speak loudly about issues that are real problems and try to draw public attention to them. The methods are varied; some people like them, others don't […]. As for me, speaking for myself, I support [Last Generation] – he went on to say.

– I look with hope, because I look with hope at this Paris-Berlin-Warsaw axis in general, because what Trump did […] shook all of Europe very strongly and made everyone understand, and I think everyone understood, that Europe, if it wants to be important, must think for itself, individual states must strengthen themselves, but these states must also strengthen the European Union, because without the European Union Poland is nothing, I believe, and the European Union without Poland is also nothing – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM, when asked how he views Merz, the new Chancellor of Germany.

– Excuse my wording, not in that direction. What I mean is that an independent state right now in the world, if it's not China, Russia, or the United States, or India, which aspires to that role, means very little. Wisdom lies in knowing that – he continued.

– I believe that Tusk is doing a very good job. […] Tusk, at this moment, I believe, is conducting foreign policy in the European Union at a good level. I praise him because I sometimes criticize him – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TOK FM.

– I believe this is a government for which there is no alternative in Poland, because the alternative is bad. The bad alternative is Konfederacja with PiS, that's why I'm surprised by Zandberg's actions and words in this regard, because that's how it would end – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in TOK FM.

– I believe our split wasn't good. Because, generally speaking, I think splits, both in private life and in politics, are not good; consolidation and coming together are better. The Left should realistically have around 13-14% right now and get that in elections. It will be interesting to see what left-wing candidates, left-wing ones, for instance, achieve collectively in the presidential elections – he continued.

– This will be a lesson, a learning experience, to be more open, more reasonable, to talk to each other more. I won't say a bad word about the Together Party. I believe they took the wrong path, but I repeat, if I had to go to a desert island, I'd prefer to go with Zandberg, because 95% of my views are the same as his – he went on.

– Two years. Anything can happen in Poland in two years. […] Today I feel openness and I won't argue with the Left. […] All conflicts and all crises must be endured because people have common sense, I believe in that – he added, when asked if he would want Zandberg on the lists in the next elections if he did not declare his readiness to return to a quiet governing coalition.

– That's nonsense [that I'm playing on Donald Tusk and Rafał Trzaskowski's team]. We are before the first round of the elections, and it's logical that each of the candidates is vying and competing to achieve the best possible result, to convince the largest possible number of voters – Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik said in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

– To say that we are playing on "Trzaska's" team is unserious, because let me just remind you that the votes of Konfederacja voters could be significant in the second round. So, if I were in PiS's place, I would look for problems first within their own circles, because nobody told Karol Nawrocki to lie about the number of apartments he owns – she continued.

– If we return to this witch hunt against the civic candidate for the office of the President of the Republic of Poland, Dr. Karol Nawrocki, then […] again today, further documents are surfacing. Where might these documents be coming from? Everything points to them leaking from the resources of the Internal Security Agency – stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

– We have submitted a request for an additional session of the Committee for Special Services; we hope that both the coordinator for special services and the heads of the special services will clarify who had access to Karol Nawrocki’s security questionnaire, when they had this access, and what happened subsequently with everything that was gathered when Dr. Karol Nawrocki successfully underwent the process of being cleared for classified information – he continued.

– One could say that Rafał Trzaskowski is a person who takes matters of the city so lightly, confusing 14,000 with the 1400 apartments he has built, but let's remember that Rafał Trzaskowski was the chief of staff for Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz; it was during Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz's presidency that the housing mafia flourished – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference.

– Today, what is happening in Warsaw is that we are dealing with an attempt to privatize the tenement house at Marszałkowska 66 street. Already during Rafał Trzaskowski's tenure, 40 families, tenants, were evicted, and now we hear that this tenement house will be sold to a developer – he continued.

– We demand explanations on this matter; the circumstances of this case must be thoroughly investigated. It so happens that today there is a session of the Justice and Human Rights Committee. We have submitted a motion to extend the agenda of this committee with information from Rafał Trzaskowski regarding the privatization of the tenement house at Marszałkowska 66 street – he went on to say.

– When we talk about playing in the "Trzask" team, I understand that PiS is playing in Donald Tusk's team in 2023, when they released the Banaś tapes and attacked Konfederacja, not really giving us the opportunity to respond to these tapes, because they were brought up just before the election silence […], conducting a negative online campaign about Sławomir Mentzen and convincing people that Sławomir Mentzen wants paid studies – Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik said on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– I understand that Karol Nawrocki is playing in Rafał Trzaskowski and Donald Tusk's team, attacking Sławomir Mentzen, for example, for something that is his vision of an ideal world, but not a proposal for Poles. Because Mentzen himself said that paid studies are unconstitutional – she continued.

The narrative of Marshal Hołownia, that he is an independent politician, has crumbled like a house of cards. We have seen from the very beginning of this campaign that the entire state apparatus, in line with Rafał Trzaskowski’s slogan, has moved forward with respect to Dr. Karol Nawrocki – stated Andrzej Śliwka in the program “Rozmowa Dnia” on PR1.

– Doctor Karol Nawrocki and we, at a press conference with Professor Przemysław Czarnek, stated clearly that a sales agreement took place. The agreement was concluded legally, it was approved by the land and mortgage register court, which entered it into the land and mortgage registers, an excerpt of the notarial deed was sent to the tax office, which did not question anything in this deed, and similarly it was sent to the city office in Gdańsk – said Andrzej Śliwka in PR1.

– For me, this affair [the Nawrocki apartment] is very ethically questionable. From a moral standpoint, there are many ambiguities, many question marks. Many questions arise in this situation. If Karol Nawrocki had immediately stated that he had two apartments, perhaps this affair would not have gained such momentum at all, as there would have been nothing to latch onto – said Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik in “Graffiti” Polsat News.

– The communication of Karol Nawrocki's team has failed completely here, and there is absolutely no doubt about that. The sheer number of versions of this event is already so large that the effect could be, for example, discouraging Poles from going to vote in the first round of elections. I would really not want that, every vote is important – she stated.

– Mr. Szymon Hołownia, he himself admits it, owns a beautiful ruin in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. A ruin, as he calls it himself […] it is a beautiful house located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, in one of the counties of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, and it turns out that Marshal Szymon Hołownia does not disclose this beautiful ruin in this year's asset declaration – said Sebastian Łukaszewicz at a press conference.

– He also does not disclose the area of this beautiful house, he does not disclose the value of this house. As Wirtualna Polska established two years ago, an appraiser who cooperated with this portal valued the property at 900,000 PLN, almost one million PLN – he continued.

– As the Marshal himself says, he is formally the owner of this house, but his parents live in this house on a daily basis. It is a beautiful property […] I wish each of you such a ruin […] it certainly is not worth 500,000 PLN, as Marshal Szymon Hołownia claims, because it turns out that according to the documents, this house is over 100 square meters. […] There are also two utility buildings standing there – he went on to say.

– Hence our appeal to Marshal Szymon Hołownia, to Chairman Śliz, for the Marshal to appear today at the session of this [Justice and Human Rights] committee and explain […] where the funds for the purchase of this homestead with this 20-year-old ruin, as Marshal Hołownia calls it, came from, and why he did not include this house in his asset declaration – he added.

– From the very beginning, we warned against being blinded by polls. We cautioned Poles not to be held hostage by polls, because polls at this moment are not used to show real support, but rather to create a certain perception that one candidate or another has a chance to advance to the second round, and others are not worth paying attention to – said Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

– We have a slightly different perspective on the issue of polls, because we have been traveling across Poland with Sławomir Mentzen since September. We see how the snowball effect is gaining momentum, and at every meeting with Sławomir Mentzen, there are more and more people – she stated.

– From my perspective, I can say for certain that I will not cast my vote for Rafał Trzaskowski in the second round. That much is sure. I don't know what I will do in the second round – whether I will vote for Karol Nawrocki or stay home – Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik said on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– These attacks from PiS towards Konfederacja at a time when Sławomir Mentzen simply stated the truth, that Karol Nawrocki didn't necessarily have to lie regarding the number of apartments he owns, also reveal the good old PiS and show its true face: that according to PiS, nothing substantial can emerge from the right wing – she continued.

– Such an attitude, unfortunately, rejects me as a potential voter in the second round – she indicated.

– This Sejm elected Karol Nawrocki to the position of President of the Supreme Audit Office… You are right, my mistake, but your laughter. This chamber elected Karol Nawrocki to the position of President of the Institute of National Remembrance. Today we are learning new facts about the President of the Institute of National Remembrance. This chamber should stand guard to ensure that individuals we appoint to the highest offices in the state represent the highest moral values – stated Agnieszka Pomaska in the Sejm.

– Karol Nawrocki provided false information, he committed to taking care of an elderly man for the rest of his life, to do his shopping, and that this man would be able to use his apartment. Today we learn that Karol Nawrocki lied for the purpose of taking the position of President of the Institute of National Remembrance. It is our commitment, it is our duty, to bring Karol Nawrocki before the high chamber, so that Karol Nawrocki can stand in truth and explain himself – the KO MP continued.

– As everyone knows by now, works lasted many months on the new Polish-French treaty, which we can officially say, and in essence, is a treaty of friendship, of deepened cooperation. And by chance, but good coincidences often happen by chance, we will be signing this treaty in a very Polish city in France, in Nancy. We deliberately chose this place, which strongly connects the history of both nations through our shared past, and it is happening on Europe Day – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– This treaty opens up many opportunities in various fields. I won't hide the fact that for me, the absolutely most important issue was mutual security guarantees, and this clause on mutual support in the event of an attack on either of our states is the essence of this treaty from the perspective of Polish interests – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– This treaty will also oblige us to hold annual joint sessions of the French and Polish governments. We will also prepare other documents and decisions that will turn this declaration into very practical resolutions, and this will also concern defense cooperation in the defense industry – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– The treaty, of course, opens up a possibility, which we will describe later in technical and financial details, but it also opens up the possibility of cooperation in this area [the nuclear umbrella]. The provision we have in the treaty, and this is precisely the specificity we cared so much about, is that in the event of a threat, an attack on Poland and France, both countries commit to providing assistance, including military assistance. We know what military capabilities France has, and what Poland has – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– What more needs to be said here? It’s a shame we are discussing this in the context of very important state matters. This is not a complaint, but I am truly concerned and determined about what will happen in the next few hours and days, because we will also have important meetings over the weekend, and I would prefer us to talk about Poland in those categories, not about something so embarrassing that is coming to light regarding Mr. Nawrocki’s past life – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– I am not surprised. I mean, I am very dismayed. I am the Prime Minister of the Polish government, and such individuals should not hold office like the President of the IPN [Institute of National Remembrance], and they certainly should not be seeking the highest state honours, dignities such as the presidency – he continued.

– Mr. Nawrocki is a decision made by Jarosław Kaczyński, in line with his own self-definition, so let them explain themselves. I will not comment on this any further. Honestly, every new piece of information each day makes me nauseous – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

Jarosław Kaczyński was asked by journalists in the Sejm about a document obtained by Interia. It indicates that Karol Nawrocki committed to lifelong support for Mr. Jerzy.

"Such a document can be prepared with very simple devices, so please leave this matter, I know the results of the studies, including American ones, regarding who will win, and it is known that they are currently doing everything to save themselves" – said Jarosław Kaczyński.

"What can a graphologist do with it… you have no idea what graphology can and cannot do" – he continued, responding to the suggestion that perhaps Karol Nawrocki should request the appointment of a graphologist, as the document bears his and Mr. Jerzy's signatures.

"I am not at all sure that it wasn't forged" – he continued, when asked if someone had forged Karol Nawrocki's signature.

"Is he supposed to be showered with papers, like it used to be in commissions? This is a completely unserious institution" – he added, when asked why Karol Nawrocki would not appear before the justice committee.

– Formally, of course, no one will disqualify Mr. Nawrocki’s candidacy, but it would be good for everyone in Poland to know that truth does not stick to him, meaning from a voter's perspective, it is a significant flaw, an inability to tell the truth. Unfortunately, I must say with regret that lying is not Mr. Karol Nawrocki’s worst trait – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

– As you can see, unfortunately, Mr. Karol Nawrocki did not bother to attend… he disregarded Parliament – said Paweł Śliz during a session of the parliamentary justice committee.

– This committee had the competence and the authority to summon Mr. Karol Nawrocki, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, before it. One of the functions of the Sejm is its oversight function and its legislative function; we are exercising this oversight function in relation to the Institute of National Remembrance, for example, by approving its activity reports – he continued.

– I have many questions for the President of the IPN. I would like to ask why he lied. I would like to ask why he bore false witness, which he admitted to – he went on to say.

– It is regrettable that the President of the IPN did not find the courage to explain these irregularities and how he persuaded an elderly person to obtain an apartment for 12,000 Polish zlotys – he added.

The spokesperson for the Mayor of Gdańsk, Daniel Stenzel, commented on the residences of Karol Nawrocki and Jerzy Żywicki.

– The City of Gdańsk is sending a letter to the Council of the Chamber of Notaries in Gdańsk, in which we request an analysis of the indicated matter regarding potential violations of notary ethics. The issue is that in a notarial deed from 2012, the individuals declared a sale price. Conversely, in an interview given on May 6th to Bogdan Rymanowski, Mr. Karol Nawrocki admitted that this amount was never paid on that date. If there are doubts on Mr. Karol Nawrocki's side, there should also be doubts on the notary's side, at least according to our specialists – informed the spokesperson.

Notification to the Prosecutor in Three Cases
– Today, the City of Gdańsk is also sending a notification to the District Prosecutor's Office Gdańsk-Śródmieście regarding the suspicion of committing a crime: 1. certifying falsehoods in notarial deeds, 2. acting to the detriment of Mr. Jerzy by causing him to dispose of his property unfavorably, and 3. acting to the detriment of the City of Gdańsk by causing the sale of a residential unit to its tenant, obtaining a 90% discount on the sale price, with the intention of taking ownership – he enumerated.

“Does Nawrocki Still Commit to Lifelong Support for Mr. Jerzy?”. Question About Payment for Social Welfare Home Stay
– Finally, in connection with the information that appeared today on the Interia.pl portal, concerning Mr. Karol Nawrocki's statement, we, as the City of Gdańsk, are sending a demand for contract conclusion, inquiring whether Karol Nawrocki still commits to the lifelong support of Jerzy Żywicki – exactly as stated in the declaration from August 10, 2021, which we saw today – and we also demand Karol Nawrocki to conclude an agreement for the payment of Mr. Jerzy Żywicki's stay in a social welfare home, in accordance with the Social Assistance Act – stated Stenzel.

– Currently, Mr. Jerzy remains under the care of the Municipality of the City of Gdańsk. The situation is contrary to the statement made by Mr. Karol Nawrocki, so we simply want to know where we stand. We must protect the municipality's assets, and we must also protect public funds. Hence, such a question is simply natural – he explained.

He clarified:– If he upholds [this statement], then I understand that the matter will have to be settled. […] Regarding the stay in the social welfare home itself, […] it is within the range of 8,000 PLN per month.

– Because Nawrocki is being evasive about the studio apartment matter, PiS is trying to cover it up with nonsense about my house. The deeper they sink, the more they flail. To court with liars. I am filing an election law lawsuit against PiS MPs: Jacek Sasin and Sebastian Łukaszewicz – Szymon Hołownia wrote on social media.

Meanwhile, the historical truth is that it was Russia – shoulder to shoulder with the Nazis, i.e., Hitler's Germany – that began World War II by attacking Poland in 1939, a war in which 6 million of our citizens perished! – wrote President Andrzej Duda on social media.

– It wasn't Moscow that saved the world's freedom! When Hitler attacked Soviet Russia in 1941, breaking the alliance with Stalin, it was only thanks to the help of the United States and the Western Allies that Russia managed to survive and mobilize its forces. This included support provided through enormous effort within the framework of the famous convoys to Murmansk. And then, Nazi Germany was defeated in May 1945. This was achieved by the USA and Soviet Russia with the help of the Western Allies. It was a common victory – emphasized PAD.

– That is why, from day one, we have been supporting Ukraine, attacked by Russia – because it is fighting for the same thing we once fought for: for freedom, independence, and sovereignty. Russian imperialism has been reborn before our very eyes. We know that peace requires strength. That is why Poland allocates as much as 5% of its GDP to defense. I once again urge all NATO countries to increase these expenditures to at least 3% – stressed Andrzej Duda.

As he concluded: – Security has a cost. But the lack of it – costs much more. We in Poland know this all too well.

– Poland has taken on great burdens, consciously and with conviction, for the sake of helping Ukrainian women and men during this cruel war, but your commitment, dear President, is invaluable and offers hope that this tragic and unnecessary war will eventually find its end, as eagerly anticipated by everyone in Ukraine and everyone in Europe – he added.

– We will be ready, we are ready for cooperation, we will analyze the financial and organizational consequences of every form of cooperation, but Poland is ready to cooperate in every area regarding defense, in every area without exception. And it is in our interest, in our common interest, to jointly utilize all possible opportunities that both France and Poland have in the event of a threat to both states – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a joint press conference with the President of France.

– Poland is today building the strongest army in Europe in order to be an ally in Europe, in order to be an ally for all those who will need help, when perhaps Poland will also need help – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a joint press conference with the President of France.

– We will certainly see each other soon in a larger group, both with the Chancellor of Germany and the Prime Minister of Great Britain, but in a situation where they ask us when we will be in Kyiv, when we will go, for obvious reasons, we are restrained in our announcements, and so it shall remain – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a joint press conference with the President of France.

– It is important not only that you could rely on us, but it's about strategic anatomy and everything that is essential. We want all of this to be European and we want to cooperate with our American ally – stated Emmanuel Macron during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

– Regarding the desire for cooperation with allies, it is not the same as dependence on them. This is precisely what it's all about, and this is how I want all governments in Europe to approach it. This is what we are contributing to by signing this treaty. And indeed, we intend to organize joint exercises between our special forces – he added.

– Today, a treaty is being signed, and a treaty between Poland and France has been signed. This is a very important day because it shows how influential a country we are. That today, everyone who thinks about security wants to cooperate precisely with Poland – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Łódź.

– Thanks to this, we will be able to strengthen our security, thanks to this, we will be able to invest in our defense industry – he continued.

– Reminding about these values that were so important to our history, I paused for a moment, and especially these last few days prompted me to finally recall these most important values. Most important, because they are values that constitute the entire community – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Łódź.

– This is what these elections are about, about whether someone takes responsibility, has experience, and is ready to do so – he went on to say.

– I always say that everyone fits under the white and red flag. That the white and red flag is for all of us. That the white and red flag should not be used to divide, because it is a symbol of all Polish women and all Polish men. That precisely if someone brings the white and red flag with them solely to divide and to say "only I am a patriot," then providence will punish them, because they will even forget about that flag – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Łódź.

– It’s also hard to fully grasp which version is true, because let me remind you, we have Mr. Nawrocki’s version, which was presented by MP Czarnek, and we would still like to know where the truth lies, how much Mr. Nawrocki profited from this transaction, and of course, the question arises as to who was potentially harmed and to what extent – stated Andrzej Domański on TVN24’s “Fakty po faktach”.

– It is a pity that the President vetoed it, but I am convinced that we will return to this solution [regarding changes to the health contribution]. – There's no talk of raising the retirement age; instead, we should be discussing incentives for those who, having reached retirement age, wish to continue working to contribute for longer and receive a higher benefit. – Of course, we need to deregulate our economy. Bureaucracy, excessive regulations, and rules primarily destroy Polish small businesses and support, favor large international corporations. Over these 20 years, they introduced over 400,000 new pages of legal acts – stated Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– Everyone gathered here is complimenting Mr. Brzoska. I looked with particular surprise at the PiS candidate complimenting a Donald Tusk collaborator. I will not join this chorus. To be honest, when I hear a multimillionaire complaining about the work ethic of Polish employees, the question that comes to my mind is whether the president knows who is delivering those packages for him, who is earning him those millions – said Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– I think it would be appropriate for him to express himself with greater respect for Polish employees – he stated.

– The current, pathetic, completely dysfunctional healthcare system dates back to 2003. It was introduced by Leszek Miller's SLD, and then 20 years of PO and PiS weren't enough for them to implement any reform. Don't listen to these people, because they had 20 years to reform the National Health Fund and didn't do it – stated Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– We should return to the system we had in the 90s, which is modeled on the system in Germany or Switzerland, where there is very good healthcare protection, meaning competing patient funds – he continued.

– For 35 years, no prime minister has been able to solve the problems with healthcare, which is why when I become president, I will appoint a working group that, within a year, in dialogue with the Ministry of Health, but also with representatives of all political forces present in parliament, will develop a systemic change that we can agree on and allow it to “move forward” for 10 years, so that no one keeps changing things every now and then – said Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– Let’s start by considering allocating the entire excise tax on alcohol to healthcare – he continued.

– We all need to realize that today the government is run by a milieu responsible for the systemic transformation in the 90s, and this milieu aims for the situation to be so bad that healthcare can be privatized. I will not allow the privatization of Polish healthcare, and I will propose a Patient Service Center, an integrated system for navigating patients and reducing queues to doctors – said Karol Nawrocki in a TV Republika debate.

– I wanted to thank the viewers of Republika, because the last time we saw each other, I asked you to join in the appeal to President Duda to block Tusk's harmful law, which was destroying healthcare finances and leading to privatization – said Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– We managed to convince the President to this veto together, and I thank you for that. But this is not the end, because we must fight for increased funding for public healthcare – he pointed out.

– The problem with the rule of law in Poland began back in 2015 when PO (Civic Platform) selected judges for the Constitutional Tribunal in reserve. Then PiS (Law and Justice) came along, outdid PO, and broke the rule of law even more. It reached a point where they released, for example, COVID-related laws that contradicted the Constitution, and regulations that contradicted those laws – stated Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– We are now witnessing overt lawbreaking, the illegal takeover of the prosecution, the illegal takeover of TVP, various types of 'extraction arrests', and a democracy at war – he continued.

– Article 7 of the constitution on the rule of law has practically ceased to be binding in Poland, in Donald Tusk's Poland. Resolutions becoming laws, an illegally acting National Prosecutor, women led out in linked handcuffs, and special services involved in the election campaign – stated Karol Nawrocki in a TV Republika debate.

– So much divides me from Marshal Hołownia, but Marshal Hołownia also pointed out some time ago in an official interview that we live in a state where special services want to influence the judiciary – he added.

– Rule of law is a pure theory if you cannot assert your rights. And referring to what Mr. Nawrocki said, I want to be an advocate for those Poles who, thanks to the "reforms" of Ziobro and Mr. Nawrocki's patron, President Duda, have to wait not 9 months for a resolution of their civil case in the first instance, but 16 – said Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– We need to restore Poles' right to a court, to have their case adjudicated. The functions of Minister of Justice, politician, and Prosecutor General must be separated. Of course, a procedure for cleansing the courts must be carried out, but it should be done with a scalpel, not an axe, examining each nomination that passed through the neo-KRS separately – he continued.

– The Constitutional Tribunal, which today deals practically exclusively with complaints from PiS […], needs to be put in order. I will be a president who will restore the rule of law in Poland – he went on to say.

– After 10 years of this tug-of-war between PiS and Civic Platform, people in Poland have no certainty whether, if a verdict is issued in their case, that verdict will be binding or not. This is one of the worst things that can happen in social and economic life – a lack of sense of stability – said Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– Unfortunately, this was caused over many years, by devastating this system, by the then ruling party, namely PiS, but we have had a new government for a year and a half and this has not been put in order. This needs to be cut. Without a cut – I say this with sadness – at the constitutional level, this cannot be solved – he stated.

– We are aging as a nation very quickly, there are more and more elderly people, disabled people, people who need help. Mr. Karol Nawrocki did not mention such people, and you know perfectly well why he didn’t mention them – said Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– We must not only increase spending on healthcare, but also on direct, everyday help. This is what's lacking, help with shopping, help with someone bringing medication, help with cleaning for that elderly, disabled person – he continued.

– If the state doesn't do this, if the state leaves people without support, then of course one or two swindlers will appear who will want to extort an apartment from an elderly person, and then leave them out in the cold – he went on to say.

– When it comes to fertility rates, housing, housing, and once again housing. In Poland, young people today have no way to start a family because housing is simply devilishly expensive. A state housing construction program is needed here; it is necessary for more children to be born – said Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– The Constitution under Donald Tusk’s government in Poland is regularly violated. I will primarily be a guardian of Article 54 of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech. Today in Poland we are living… we are present and discussing on television, which is seeking to have its license revoked in the fight against freedom of speech – said Karol Nawrocki during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– My main opponent, Rafał Trzaskowski, does not allow conservative television channels into his press conferences, and in recent months we have also experienced attempts to censor the internet – he continued.

– It is as it is because women want to build careers. It's hard to blame them. It's hard to blame them for not wanting to sit at home, especially when they don't have a home. If we're talking about careers, then I'm coming out with a concrete program here […] – incubator plus. If we want women to return to the labor market, let's shorten the pregnancy period from 9 months to 7 months. – I often hear that it's all because of abortion. That because it's not possible to terminate a pregnancy, women don't want to be pregnant, they don't know if they'll manage. Here too, I'm stepping in – legal abortion up to 14 years of age. It's unknown if such a 14-year-old clump of cells will turn out cool, grateful, or perhaps sickly. If the mother knew that such a 14-year-old clump could be terminated, maybe she would decide – he continued.

– The editor has painted such a picture in this elaborate question of a partisan, cornered in a forest by enemy forces, preparing to repel an enemy attack. I have arrived. I don't want to take away your licenses. I don't want to take away anyone's licenses, I want to talk – said Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam, responding to a question about freedom of speech.

– I will be a president who does not categorize stations – he continued.

– I would like us, finally in Poland, to build truly public media and truly public television, public, meaning independent of power, any power. I strongly disliked what was happening at TVP during the PiS government, but I also dislike how public television looks today. I believe that public media should treat all parties and all viewpoints equally and should report on them, not necessarily accompanied by malicious comments or manipulative materials – stated Adrian Zandberg in a debate on TV Republika.

– Freedom of speech is the foundation of our civilization, it is the foundation of democracy. The government combating the media is, of course, disgraceful. The current government’s combating of Republika is disgraceful, just as disgraceful was the ABW’s combating, for example, of “Najwyższy Czas” [The Highest Time] during Prime Minister Morawiecki’s tenure. These two governments were no different in this regard – said Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– Do you believe we can feel safe within NATO, given that Donald Trump currently has a very negative stance towards the EU, or even all of Europe, and threatens to withdraw from NATO if there are insufficient defense expenditures, specifically transferring money to the USA? – asked Joanna Senyszyn, addressing Karol Nawrocki.

– I have a completely different vision, esteemed professor, of this issue. Indeed, the relocation of the arms industry to Paris, to France, and also to Berlin, following those egregious errors that occurred both in the Polish parliament and in the European Parliament, has concerned me, and also concerned President Donald Trump, as I understand your statement, professor. For us, the North Atlantic Alliance is the most important security alliance we are part of – replied the candidate supported by PiS.

– I think, Mr. Speaker, that one doesn’t become a speaker after just 1.5 years, but one can indeed become a clown of Polish politics. My meeting with President Trump took place after meetings with Speaker Johnson, as well as with other advisors on domestic and international policy, whose names you, Mr. Speaker, might know, because I understand we have never met – stated Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– My visit was not intended to gain support in my fight for the presidency, but rather so I could quickly take on the duties of president and see the atmosphere in the White House regarding Polish-American relations – he continued.

– Many years ago, the Polish conservative right thought differently on this matter. I still remember Lech Kaczyński, who spoke about establishing a European army in cooperation with NATO, partly to make us safer. In my opinion, he was right, and I believe your infatuation with Donald Trump may prove dangerous for our country in the long run – stated Adrian Zandberg during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam, addressing Karol Nawrocki.

– Your concern for the fate of the criminal Putin, as well as for the representative, Mr. Maciak here, in our public Polish debate, is telling. Putin must be stopped, because that is Poland's security. We must do this together with the Ukrainians, perhaps without people like you – stated Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam, responding to a question about how his efforts to crush Putin were going.

– What you are saying is an obvious betrayal of Polish interests, but we have had traitors in our history who did business with Russia, and they ended up in various ways, I also recall in the context of what you said about capital punishment – he added.

– Under no circumstances can Poland ever agree to this [Ukraine's NATO membership], because in the event of further Russian aggression against Ukraine, it would mean either Poland's involvement in a war with Russia, or it would turn out that Poland does not respect Article 5 of NATO. And then, if we had problems, the West would have a good excuse not to help us either. Agreement, under any pretext, for Ukraine to join NATO, ever, is simply mortally dangerous for Poland – stated Sławomir Mentzen.

– Agreed – replied Karol Nawrocki.

– The problem of emigration of talented, young people [...] a significant number of whom are leaving Poland because Polish universities [...] have too little funding for research. Last year in December, you passed a budget that unfortunately inherits all the problems of the PiS budgets; it's a budget of stagnation and lack of investment in technical universities, research institutes, and scientific research, which will cause more young people to leave Poland [...]. Why did you agree to this? – Adrian Zandberg stated during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam, addressing Szymon Hołownia.

– You should have stayed in government, then you'd have influence on reality – Szymon Hołownia replied.

My visit was not a visit to gain support in my fight for the presidency, but so that I could quickly assume the duties of the President of Poland and see what the atmosphere of Polish-American relations is like in the White House – stated Karol Nawrocki during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– I have the impression that you didn't achieve anything for Poland, you got yourself a campaign selfie, and that was the whole gain from that big fuss that happened, and something could have been achieved for Poland – replied Szymon Hołownia during the debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– You will admit that a selfie with Donald Trump is better than a selfie at a funeral – responded Karol Nawrocki.

– You know very well that it wasn't a selfie, maybe let's start with that, right? I will show you, your colleagues from PiS, who were taking pictures. You haven't answered my questions, I understand that you didn't achieve anything, you're trying to insult me, I understand, you're losing your temper, thank you – retorted Szymon Hołownia.

– It's not quite like that. […] This wasn't a point dedicated to reading this bill. It was a point for “questions on current matters” […] then, as Adrian [Zandberg] will confirm, there are usually several MPs in the chamber directly interested in the topic that is happening – said Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam, responding to Krzysztof Stanowski's question about the almost empty chamber when Łukasz Krasoń was speaking about the personal assistance bill.

– There are never many people there, because there are 100 rooms in the Sejm and work on legislation is taking place simultaneously in committees and teams, that's how it happens. However, the problem lies elsewhere. The problem is that we do not have this bill in the Sejm. And that this bill is progressing at a snail's pace – he continued.

– It should have been in the Sejm long ago, and as for what is already on the Council of Ministers' agenda, the Ministry of Finance is submitting either 60 or 40 amendments, or further comments. It is our great failure that this bill has not been passed to date. I will do everything, because I am doing everything, by summoning everyone responsible every three months, to have this bill passed so that it can enter into force next year – he went on to say.

– You can talk a lot, but the truth is – family foundations were created to secure the inheritance of Polish family businesses. And precisely because we didn't assume that smart alecks like you would try to use these mechanisms to avoid paying taxes on shares from your companies. Do you want to be the President of the Republic of Poland? Will you continue to sell shares through foundations so as not to pay taxes to the Republic of Poland? – stated Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– You are a selfish millionaire playing games with taxes – he continued.

– Either you haven't read my program at all, or you have read it but completely misunderstood it, which, as a socialist, doesn't surprise me at all. In any case, I absolutely deny it, I have no intention of taking any money from pensioners – said Sławomir Mentzen, responding to Adrian Zandberg's question about why he wants to take money from pensioners, especially the poorest ones.

– You seem to like playing audiovisual materials, so I'll play something for you. This is you, isn't it? – replied Adrian Zandberg.

Then the Razem candidate played a recording in which Mentzen could be heard saying: „abolition of the 13th pension, abolition of the 14th pension. Surprise, but a year has 12 months. Not 13, not 14, so there will be 12 pensions. We are abolishing 300+ and we will certainly not introduce any indexation of 500+.”

In the background, the Confederation candidate could be heard: – That was a parliamentary campaign. That was our program in the parliamentary campaign, now I have a presidential program.

– As you can see, Mr. Sławomir Mentzen, while criticizing PO and PiS, behaves in the same way – that is, he simply equivocates – Zandberg concluded.

– This will not be the original project; we sometimes understand things differently, not just in this regard. When I want to help someone, buy medicine for them, or clean up, I don't offer them a deed of apartment transfer. We understand charity differently, we understand the construction of the Central Communication Port differently – stated Szymon Hołownia during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– This is an idea that should be implemented, but it should be implemented in such a way that there are no scams like those seen before, and that it truly serves all of Poland – he added.

– If you continue to vote for PiS or PO, nothing will change. We still won't have a nuclear power plant, the CPK [Central Communication Port], simplified taxes, simplified regulations, and we still won't have support for Polish entrepreneurs, but rather for large international corporations – stated Sławomir Mentzen during a debate on TV Republika, wPolsce24, and TV Trwam.

– Completing Donald Tusk’s “barking democracy” system by installing Rafał Trzaskowski in the Presidential Palace will mean the autocracy of a single political environment, Civic Platform. These elections are about sovereignty. – I implore and appeal to all of you that each of you […] on May 18th has your own Monte Cassino. Regardless of what is happening, regardless of the artillery fire, regardless of the toil, on May 18th we must hoist the white and red flag on the hill named Poland – he went on to say.
