Tuesday's Political Agenda: Trzaskowski's Nationwide Conference, Duda in Slovakia, Nawrocki in Silesia, Government Session, Hołownia in Rzeszów

At 11:00 AM in Warsaw, a nationwide press conference will be held by the Mayor of Warsaw and candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland, Rafał Trzaskowski.

President Andrzej Duda will pay a working visit to Slovakia. At 10:30 AM in Štrbské Pleso, a welcome ceremony by President Peter Pellegrini will commence, followed by a one-on-one meeting between the presidents at 10:45 AM. A meeting with the media is scheduled for 11:45 AM, and plenary delegation talks, presided over by the presidents, will begin at 12:30 PM.

A government session will start at 12:00 PM. The agenda includes, among other items, a draft amendment to certain laws aimed at ensuring the application of European Union legal provisions that improve the functioning of the internal market.

Karol Nawrocki, the candidate for president supported by PiS, will hold visits in the Silesian Voivodeship. A press conference will take place in Sosnowiec at 3:00 PM, followed by an open meeting in Jaworzno at 5:15 PM.

Szymon Hołownia, the candidate for president representing Polski 2050, will visit Rzeszów as part of a two-day visit to the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. A press briefing is scheduled for 2:00 PM in Rzeszów, followed by an open meeting at 5:30 PM, also in Rzeszów.

Furthermore, the Pegasus investigation committee is set to continue its hearings today – in the morning, a prosecutor and a district prosecutor will be questioned, and at 4:00 PM, the former head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, Andrzej Stróżny, will testify. He is also scheduled to give testimony in a closed session at 6:00 PM.

Additionally, the Monetary Policy Council begins its two-day session today.

Kaleta on the court’s decision regarding Ziobro:

There’s a limit where even judges sympathetic to this government have some dignity.

This does not change the assessment of this system, for the reason that, for example, Judge Ptaszek, who yesterday justified the decision of another judge, one could say, also known as a PiS sympathizer, Judge Ptaszek is a spokesperson for the court unlawfully taken over by Bodnar, by his people, and Judge Ptaszek ordered Zbigniew Ziobro to be brought before that commission – stated Sebastian Kaleta in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News’s “Graffiti”.

However, there is a certain limit where even those judges who are sympathetic to this government have some dignity, because what the Sroka commission is doing, the whole of Poland saw how they were running away from Zbigniew Ziobro, everyone saw, state cameras, reporters, that the minister said from the beginning that he did not recognize the commission because there was a Constitutional Tribunal ruling, but at the same time, when the police forcefully enforced that court order, which the minister disagreed with, the minister did not intend to struggle with the police and did not struggle – he continued.

08:15

Kaleta:

Matecki is a Political Prisoner

Editor Poczobut is a political prisoner, and Dariusz Matecki is a political prisoner. A political prisoner is a political prisoner – stated Sebastian Kaleta on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:16

Sawicki:

Trump and the USA Must Know That No Country Has Won a Trade War

– For us, it seems, it doesn't [the US decision on tariffs doesn't matter], but Donald Trump and America must know that no country has ever won a trade war, an economic war. Not even the one that declared these wars, so ultimately Donald Trump is putting a huge muzzle on his own citizens – said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Gość Radia Zet” (Guest of Radio Zet).

08:17

"The Murderer is Free." Kaleta on the "Bodnarists Releasing Cyba"

Another matter – there is the policy that Minister Ejchart announced a year ago, that prison spaces would be reduced, and 25,000. There were supposed to be releases from prisons, and who walked free? Ryszard Cyba. This murderer is free; he received a life sentence, he should only be applying for parole after 30 years. After 14 years, the Bodnarists released Ryszard Cyba from prison – stated Sebastian Kaleta on "Graffiti" Polsat News.

08:18

"Opposition to Prison, and a Murderer Free." Kaleta on "Fighting Democracy in Practice"

He allegedly threatened people on the street, according to media reports, and only then was he put into a psychiatric hospital, and this is precisely fighting democracy in practice. Opposition to prison, and a murderer free – stated Sebastian Kaleta on Polsat News's "Graffiti."

08:23

Sawicki to Kołodziejczak: It would be good for a unionist to become a minister after 1.5 years

– Mr. Michał, it would be good for a unionist to become a minister after 1.5 years and to speak about it seriously – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet, when asked, „what about this foot-and-mouth disease? Is Michał Kołodziejczak right that we need to put a ban on meat from Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary?”.

– That’s what we have the State Veterinary Inspectorate for, services that are obligated to inspect. I have serious doubts as to whether they are leak-proof and efficient enough under the current supervision of Mr. Kołodziejczak and the other deputy minister from Lewica, and I would like this service to truly operate at 100%. I fear that the leaks that are appearing there could lead to the smuggling of this disease – he continued.

– I think this is a conversation between myself and Minister Siekierski. If he wants me to, I will tell him. […] Every institution requires solid supervision – he went on, when pressed on what he meant by leaks.

08:24

Kaleta:

The Great Pegasus Chase Turns Out to Be a Ride on Pegasus Themselves

The media are reporting that the current government is using similar devices, and despite my numerous inquiries and questions, there is silence from the government. What does such silence mean? They cannot deny that they are using software that can be installed on phones by security services? Of course, they are using it. Dariusz Matecki was probably, one could say, a user of this software, which was installed on him by the Bodnar followers, so say various voices – stated Sebastian Kaleta on Polsat News' "Graffiti."

This is what smiling rule of law looks like. It turns out that the great chase for Pegasus is turning out to be that they themselves have probably mounted Pegasus – he continued.

08:32

The Left Against Lowering the Health Contribution. Sawicki Responds with a "Shepherd's Parable"

– I will only tell you an old shepherd's parable. When asked how to have three times more wool, he always answered the same sentence: you don't need to shear the same lambs three times, but you need to increase the flock threefold – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet, when asked whose side he was on in the dispute between Szymon Hołownia and the Left regarding the health contribution.

– The Left seems to think that by adding more burdens to entrepreneurs, there will be greater revenue for both the National Health Fund and the budget. No, I would prefer to have another three million entrepreneurs paying a thousand zlotys in contributions, rather than one million burdened with three thousand – he continued.

– The Polish Deal eliminated over 600,000 enterprises from the Polish economy. These are the deficits from the [...] National Health Fund and the budget that we do not have today, which have irretrievably left the system – he went on to say.

"This is Not the System"

– The Left forgets that prosperity comes from work, from industry, from services, not from handouts. If the Left wants to return to the old doctrine, which I barely remember myself, "to each according to his needs," then this is not the system, dear Left – Sawicki added.

Nawrocki Calls on MPC to Lower Interest Rates

Poles must finally get lower loan installments. That is why I am calling on the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) to lower interest rates. Thanks to this decision, millions of borrowers will breathe a sigh of relief. We know that two members of the council, appointed by the current ruling coalition, wanted to raise interest rates. This is a very bad idea; in these difficult times, loan installments must be significantly lower – says Karol Nawrocki in a recording published on social media.

08:49

Czarzasty as Sejm Marshal? Sawicki: I'm a proponent of keeping agreements

– No, I'll be honest, I am a proponent of keeping agreements. If we agreed on something two years ago, 1.5 years ago, then those agreements should be kept – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet when asked if, like Bronisław Komorowski, he believes Włodzimierz Czarzasty should not replace Szymon Hołownia as Marshal of the Sejm.

– It is the Left's matter whom they will possibly assign as marshal, because in half a year the Left has elections. If Mr. Włodzimierz Czarzasty remains the leader, I am convinced he will serve as marshal, but if they change the leader, it is not impossible that someone else from the Left will be this marshal – he continued.

08:56

Sawicki:

If the Left Wants to Sabotage the Presidential Elections for the Ruling Camp, They Are on the Right Track

– We have a situation where none of the ideological or worldview issues have been resolved in the last 30 years. And I often have the impression that the Left, in particular, is keen on not taking a single step forward on these matters, but rather on constantly playing with them – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet.

– If today in the extraordinary committee […] in the Sejm we have four bills, and two are agreed upon, the one concerning decriminalization and the one concerning a return to compromise […] and the Left does not want to agree to this, only wanting the whole package, then the Left should be perfectly aware that Polish society is conservative enough that it simply will not accept their proposals – he continued.

– As a conservative and a member of the peasant party, I have no intention of yielding to the Left's expectations just because they think their electorate wants it. I'm not sure if even the entire Left's electorate wants it. If they want to sabotage the presidential elections for the current ruling camp, then they are on the right track – he went on to say.

09:03

Sawicki:

If Trzaskowski Wins, Tusk Will Complete the Absorption of the Left. There Are Also Designs on PSL and Poland 2050

– If Trzaskowski wins, we know perfectly well that Tusk will certainly complete the absorption of the Left, because we know perfectly well that this milieu is already heavily marginalized – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet.

– There are, of course, designs on the Polish People's Party (PSL) and on Poland 2050 as well, but here I want to say that these designs on the PSL have been constant since '89, and it turns out that for various political parties and milieus, we are difficult to digest, and we, in turn, are very resistant to these types of assimilation attempts – he continued.

09:13

Bryłka defends Mentzen regarding the interview on Channel Zero:

The statements are largely manipulated.

These statements, which are quoted in relation to the presidential candidate Sławomir Mentzen, are primarily and largely manipulated and cut from a very broad context. This interview, which Sławomir Mentzen gave to Channel Zero last week, lasts over 2 hours. Our candidate touches upon a great many threads there, various programmatic issues, and explains his position on different topics – stated Anna Bryłka in the program 'Sygnały dnia' on PR1.

09:14

Bryłka on Abortion:

A Very Convenient Distraction for the Ruling Coalition.

This [abortion] is a very convenient topic for the ruling coalition as a distraction, where all other important issues are being silenced. For instance, today is April 1st, and by the end of March, the assumptions for the entire military training plan for Poles were supposed to be presented. I don't see any draft legislation, nor any details that were meant to be presented by the Ministry of Defence, well, we know nothing – stated Anna Bryłka on PR1.

09:14

Bryłka on the parliamentary pre-campaign:

The greater the representation in the Sejm, the greater the influence on a potential government.

What we are focused on now is primarily achieving the best possible result in the presidential elections, so that it serves as a good reference point, a good starting point for us — stated Anna Bryłka on PR1.

In fact, it will look something like this: shortly after these presidential elections, the pre-campaign for the parliamentary elections in 2027 will begin. Our goal, the goal of Konfederacja, is primarily to gain as much support as possible. The greater the representation in the Sejm, the greater the influence on a potential government, the better the negotiating position of the future government — she continued.

09:15

Sawicki:

If Nawrocki Doesn't Reach the Second Round, There Will Be No PiS

– If Nawrocki doesn't reach the second round, there will be no PiS. There will be a new political environment in the center-right, and we'll see what happens then – Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet.

– I don't see [a chance for a PSL-PiS coalition] because there will be no PiS. It will be a completely different formation – he continued.

09:16

Bryłka Defends Mentzen's Statement on Abortion in Cases of Rape:

What Was Manipulated Was the Word 'Unpleasantness'.

The Confederation's stance on unborn life has always been clear; that is, we have stood on the side of life, we are pro-life, nothing has changed here – said Anna Bryłka on PR1.

What was manipulated from that statement and introduced into public debate was the word 'unpleasantness', completely omitting the entire preceding thread where Sławomir Mentzen explained very clearly that everything that happens is a terrible tragedy for the woman, that we need to fight against rapists, not victims. Not against unborn children, that the matter is very difficult, that the matter is very emotional, that it requires a great deal of empathy – she continued.

10:25

Kosiniak-Kamysz at the Inauguration of the Air Policing Mission in Malbork:

To Defend Freedom, Democracy, Independence, One Must Have Strength.

I bid you a very warm welcome to Malbork, to Poland. This is an extraordinary, historic moment, as we are commencing a new Air Policing mission, protecting Polish skies, skies over the Baltic states, with the participation of Swedish and British forces. This is a mission we have been awaiting, just as we have awaited Sweden’s accession to NATO for many years. This became a reality last year; NATO is stronger thanks to Sweden's presence, our allies, proven ones from Great Britain – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Malbork.

To defend freedom, democracy, and independence, one must have strength. These values do not defend themselves; they do not defend themselves by the beauty of their ideals. They are defended only by the strength we can demonstrate. Deterrence is our main principle. Cooperation within NATO is for peace, not for war – the Deputy Prime Minister continued.

11:11

Trzaskowski Kicks Off Major Press Conference:

Anyone Running for President Must Be Open to Dialogue.

Anyone running for the office of President of the Republic of Poland must be open to dialogue. This dialogue is sometimes lacking in our reality, and that is why I am meeting with you here – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a major press conference.

11:15

Trzaskowski Announces New March Date After Talks with Tusk:

It Should Unite All Democratic Forces.

I would like to state clearly that this is a very good tradition. You remember the incredible energy during the marches that were organized before the 2023 elections, and I am very happy about such an initiative. I spoke with Prime Minister Tusk on this matter, and we decided to set the [date] for May 25th, because I am absolutely convinced that it would be good for this march to take place between the first and second rounds, as this is meant to be a march that will unite all democratic forces – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

11:19

Trzaskowski:

Agreement Needed on Security, Social and Welfare Gains

– When it comes to security, there has been an agreement so far, and all presidents […] from President Wałęsa to President Duda have taken a similar stance on security issues, because that is simply the state's interest, and I hope that under the auspices of the President of the Republic, we will be able to reach an agreement on strengthening our security, as this is the most important thing today – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– This agreement is also needed in other matters, namely in those matters that have not been questioned so far, i.e., in matters concerning all the gains of the last over 30 years, including gains that we can consider as social or welfare rights, the right to free education, to free healthcare, the right to all those programs that have been introduced in recent years – he continued.

– Yes, I am also talking here about 800+, or the 13th and 14th pension, it seemed that there was a consensus on this matter on the Polish political scene, it would be good for these absolutely basic, fundamental matters not to be questioned – he further stated.

11:23

Trzaskowski:

I am in favour of a gradual reduction in health contributions

I am in favour of a gradual reduction in health contributions and I have clearly stated this, and of course, it requires healthcare reform, primarily ensuring that healthcare is as effective as possible, which the minister is also working on – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

11:31

Trzaskowski on the tax-free allowance:

A government has a term to fulfill its promises.

I am not a member of the government, however, during this election campaign, I have repeatedly stated that the president's task should be to urge the government to implement its postulates, to act much more effectively, and I stand by that. If I become the President of the Republic of Poland, I will urge every government and hold every government accountable for fulfilling its promises, regardless of what kind of government it is – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

I did not promise the tax-free allowance, however, yes, I indeed positively assess the fact that the government has clearly announced that this amount will be introduced in 2027, because a government has a term to fulfill its promises, and I am very pleased that this kind of signal has been sent – he continued.

11:36

Trzaskowski:

I am ready to debate with candidates

I am ready to debate with candidates. Debating with a candidate on his own television is a bit of a strange custom. We'll see, if there is time, I will certainly participate in a debate with your editorial office [Kanał Zero] as well – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

11:41

Trzaskowski Asked About Presidential Chancellery Appointments:

It’s Definitely Too Early to Hand Out Positions 2 Months Before the Election.

If I win the election, if Poles trust me, then I will make these kinds of decisions [regarding the chancellery appointments] and I will inform you about them. It is definitely too early to hand out positions two months before the election. That would truly be an exceptional farce – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

11:41

Trzaskowski Reiterates: No Migration Pact Will Apply in Poland

– Today, no migration pact will apply in Poland, because we have already done our part long ago – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

– We have accepted millions of refugees from Ukraine. If the European Commission attempts to impose any financial burdens on Poland for not accepting other refugees, then at that moment we will clearly state that the European Union should then pay us for all Ukrainians we have accepted into Poland – he continued.

– We have very strong cards here and the migration pact will certainly not come into effect, and I will also be a guarantor of this, in such a form, we will not accept any refugees – he went on to say.

– Today, there is no possibility for us to adopt any provisions of this migration pact, and this is the government's position, which I support – he added.

11:43

Tusk on changing the date of the march:

This will allow for the full mobilization of democratic patriots.

Attention! Change! The Great March of Patriots will take place on May 25th, before the second round of elections, in accordance with the apt recommendation of President Rafał Trzaskowski. This will allow for the full mobilization of democratic patriots. All together! So: Sunday, May 25th, Warsaw, at noon – wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

11:52

Trzaskowski on Convening the National Security Council Every Two Months:

An Attempt to Regain the Ability to Speak with One Voice on Security.

My most important task will be to try and regain the ability to speak with one voice when it comes to security issues. That is why I clearly announced that I will convene the National Security Council (RBN) once every two months to inform all political forces about the security situation in Poland, and I will urge all political party leaders, without any exception, to speak with one voice on the most important security matters – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

11:57

Trzaskowski:

The Only Statement Questioning NATO Article 5 Security I've Heard Was Nawrocki's

– There are no serious statements today that would undermine our security and the security of all members of the North Atlantic Alliance, which stems from Article 5. The only political statement I've heard that called this into question was from Mr. Nawrocki, who said that he doesn't know for sure whether we should send troops to support any North Atlantic Alliance member state that might be attacked – Rafał Trzaskowski said at a press conference.

– I interpret this as a lack of knowledge and [...] I would prefer Mr. Nawrocki to not have any opinions on such matters if he intends to undermine issues that are most fundamental to Polish security – he continued.

– I haven't heard such serious remarks from American or NATO politicians; quite the opposite, I've heard strong words from both Americans and the NATO Secretary General stating that no one is questioning Article 5 of the North Atlantic Alliance today – he added.

12:37

Trzaskowski:

I Dislike the Phrase 'Fighting Democracy'

If you ask me whether I like the phrase 'fighting democracy' – no, I don't like it – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

12:37

Trzaskowski:

I Will Sign the Silesian Language Act

If you ask me how I will act, I will act according to substantive criteria. If President Duda vetoed some laws, for example, the one on the Silesian language, I disagree with that decision. If you ask me whether, if the Silesian language act lands on my desk again, I will sign it or not, I will sign it – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a large press conference.

13:08

Trzaskowski:

I Cannot Imagine Anyone in Their Right Mind Trying to Question the Election Results

– We are in a democratic state, and even though we all have reservations about this chamber [of extraordinary control and public affairs]… I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind trying to question the election results – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

14:12

Duda at Conference with Slovak President: We are Interested in a Secure and Lasting Peace, Not Just for Ukraine, but Also for Ourselves

– We spoke with Mr. President about security, of course, which is a fundamental issue at the moment, in this context, naturally, the war in Ukraine and what both of us are so very interested in, namely, that this war ends as quickly as possible, but ends with a secure and lasting peace, secure not only for Ukraine, meaning that Ukraine is not attacked again, but also secure for our countries, our societies – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference with the President of Slovakia.

– In short, for this peace to be lasting and to ensure, thanks to its stability, further opportunities for calm and free economic, and general development, all that we need. Today, unfortunately, the way to achieve this also involves increasing defense spending and strengthening the security of our countries – he continued.

14:17

Duda:

Raising NATO Defense Spending to at least 3% of GDP is Realistic and Quickly Achievable

– Increasing defense spending to a minimum of 3% [of GDP] by member states will likely be not only discussed but also decided upon at the upcoming summit. We know there are various proposals in this regard; we will see what the final decision will be. I believe that this 3% is achievable relatively quickly and is realistic; it's just a matter of agreeing on the scenario for achieving this goal and adopting it – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference with the President of Slovakia.

14:21

Duda:

Europe Needs More Military Production

– We also discussed military cooperation between our countries and cooperation within the defense industries with Mr. President. We both agree that Europe needs more military production, that we should be self-sufficient in terms of production and, consequently, in procuring ammunition – President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference with the President of Slovakia.

– We also talked with Mr. President about the Polonization of the Korean K2 tanks and their production, hopefully soon in Poland. I am glad that Slovakia has preliminarily expressed interest in this product – he continued.

14:39

Tusk on government actions regarding foot-and-mouth disease:

We will intensify controls on the borders with Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Germany.

– We discussed the necessary, essential decisions related to foot-and-mouth disease. Minister Czesław Siekierski presented a very detailed report on the actions of all services, not just those subordinate to the ministry, not just the inspections, but also the Ministry of Interior and Administration is involved in these actions; generally, the entire government is focused on actions aimed at preventing the spread of foot-and-mouth disease into Poland – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk after a government meeting.

– There is no foot-and-mouth disease in Poland, and that is very good news. […] Thank you for the actions taken, which preceded the European Union's actions, Mr. Minister Siekierski; these actions have yielded good results so far – he continued.

– We are controlling the borders, especially with Slovakia […] we made a decision today together with Minister Siekierski that we will intensify controls on the border with Slovakia, but also with the Czech Republic and Germany. […] In order to preventatively, prophylactically examine and control all transports without exception that arrive in Poland, for now from these three countries – he continued.

14:49

Tusk on Compensation for Farmers Affected by Floods and Drought:

It's a Total of PLN 600 Million.

– We have agreed with the farmers on compensation related to the effects of floods and drought; it's a total of 600 million zlotys, 350 million for those affected by drought, and these cover various sectors, as he put it, including apiaries and maize […] and for those affected by floods who suffered agricultural losses during the floods, there is 250 million zlotys – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk after a government meeting.

– We are fully aware that these compensations will not fully cover everyone's losses by 100% […] we have also conducted an assessment of the effects of drought and floods as reliably as possible. Everyone would want to receive more, but at the moment, this 600 million zlotys is truly, as you know, a considerable effort from the perspective of the funds available to the government and the Minister of Agriculture – he continued.

14:57

Tusk:

We are continuing the construction of the nuclear power plant. Negotiations for the bridge agreement have concluded

– To put an end to all speculation regarding the investment in this first nuclear power plant… negotiations for a bridge agreement with the contractors have been concluded, and I would like to thank Minister Czarnecka and the team who worked on a better form of the agreement – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk after the government meeting.

– Firstly, good news, we are continuing the construction of the nuclear power plant. Second good news, we have reached an agreement with our American partners in such a way that this agreement is much better from our point of view, safer – he continued.

– I congratulate you on reaching an agreement and negotiating significantly better terms… for example, such an obvious condition… as meeting deadlines… you have also established that there will be penalties for not meeting these deadlines – he went on to say.

16:20

Nawrocki Appeals to Trzaskowski:

If Tusk Doesn’t Babysit You, Ask Him for Permission to Debate Me.

At this press conference, Rafał Trzaskowski asked me to call the Prime Minister, Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, to consult on the Monetary Policy Council lowering interest rates. I did indeed contact the Monetary Policy Council regarding this matter – said Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

However, referring to Rafał Trzaskowski, I would like to say that you, Mr. Rafał, Mr. Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform, should call your boss. Donald Tusk, and if he is not currently babysitting you and putting up your banners, you should ask Donald Tusk a question. Would he agree for you to participate in a presidential debate with me on the topic of the security of the Polish state? – he continued.

16:20

Nawrocki Calls for Closing the Western Border:

We all have the right to feel safe.

On this occasion, I also ask you to request Donald Tusk to close the western border of the Polish state, because illegal migrants are crossing our western border, and Donald Tusk, out of fear of the German Chancellor, because he is afraid of the German Chancellor, is not closing our western border, and we all have the right to feel safe – said Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

16:20

Nawrocki on the May 25th March:

Another Ploy by Tusk and Trzaskowski

Although I am a Polish patriot and have participated in patriotic marches my entire life, Donald Tusk has postponed the date of his party's march, a march of support for Rafał Trzaskowski, not a march of Polish patriots. Therefore, this is a campaign tactic by Donald Tusk and Rafał Trzaskowski – stated Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

16:21

Nawrocki Asked About Organizing a Press Conference:

I Probably Won’t Copy That Idea.

I probably won’t copy that idea of Rafał Trzaskowski, because I don’t have a deficit of meetings with journalists. You are always with me, from all stations. I always treat you with respect, which I hope you see, and I don’t have a deficit of such meetings; I gladly answer your, even the most difficult, questions – stated Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

16:21

Nawrocki Sarcastically Comments on Trzaskowski's Press Conference:

It's Unbelievable that He's Happy He Answered Journalists' Questions.

My main competitor, Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski, Donald Tusk's deputy, convened a two-hour press conference and is very happy about convening it. He convened a press conference, and I've convened dozens of press conferences over many days – stated Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

I wanted to tell you, quoting Rafał Trzaskowski, that it's unbelievable that a presidential candidate is happy about spending two hours answering journalists' questions. Dear ladies and gentlemen, it's a normal thing for a presidential candidate to answer questions from journalists of various television stations. So, my main rival is not exceptional in this regard, and two hours dedicated to journalists is nothing extraordinary – he continued.

16:22

Nawrocki Hits Out at Trzaskowski:

I'm competing with a man who himself probably doesn't know who he is.

This is the greatest difficulty of this election campaign, ladies and gentlemen, because I am competing with a man who himself probably doesn't know who he is, and I myself don't know what to refer to, because his mind changes constantly within 24 hours – said Karol Nawrocki in Sosnowiec.

17:34

Nawrocki:

In Poland, We Know How to Ensure Our Mines Become Less Emissive

– I am a great advocate of environmental protection, and at the same time, an opponent of both the Green Deal and all ecoterror. We in Poland know how to take care of and develop this segment of economic life so that our mines become increasingly less emissive – said Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

– It is our know-how, our knowledge that determines that we will extract Polish coal better and better, also for the environment. We have wonderful scientists, we have academies, we have people who care for the environment, just as a Polish forester cares for a Polish forest – he continued.

17:39

Nawrocki:

No One Understands Why We Pay Such High Electricity Bills in a Country with Decades of Coal Reserves

– We cannot pay such large sums of money for electricity bills. No one can understand how, in a country with decades of coal reserves, we are paying such high electricity bills – said Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

17:56

Nawrocki:

Either Poland Will Be Great, or Poland Will Cease to Exist. We Must Save It and Win the Elections

– A government has come to power that has no aspirations for development, that is closing down major investments, destroying our plans and dreams, such as the Central Communication Port (CPK). It is liquidating programs like the Road Development Fund and the Strategic Investment Program, which were responsible for the creation of railway stations, railway networks, and roads for cars in Poland's small and medium-sized cities – stated Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

– This government has lost its ambitions, and we are an ambitious nation. Because Poland must be great, it must develop. We have our aspirations: in Jaworzno, in Silesia, in Pomerania, and throughout Poland. We want to live by grand plans and dreams, because either Poland will be great, or Poland will not exist. And that is why we must save Poland and win the elections on May 18th. For us, grand plans and investments, development is something that we will not let be taken away from us – he emphasized.

Nawrocki:

A murderer released from prison during the election campaign to inflame our emotions

– Poland today has a major problem with its justice system. That is why we have the President of the Republic of Poland, to sort out matters that politicians have not managed to resolve to this day, and which have only been multiplied by the current Minister of Justice – said Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

– We all, as citizens of the Polish state, want to be convinced that we can count on a fair trial. And this is not happening, because the politicized prosecution service, the Supreme Audit Office, and the state television are joining the staff of one of the candidates, Rafał Trzaskowski. And in recent days, a murderer has been released from prison during the election campaign, solely to inflame our emotions, to send another signal that they can do anything – he stated.

Nawrocki:

We're Not Afraid of a Politicized Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Audit Office, State TV, or Releasing Murderers. We'll Win Anyway

– We are not afraid of a politicized prosecutor's office, nor the Supreme Audit Office, nor state television, nor the release of murderers. You will be held responsible for this, and we will win the election on May 18th anyway – said Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

Nawrocki on Mentzen’s Ideas:

No to Privatization of Higher Education and Healthcare.

– I have come a long way to stand before you as a doctor of humanities, President of the Institute of National Remembrance, and a presidential candidate. I would not have made this journey if higher education had been privatized. Therefore, I will clearly say “no” to that – stated Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

As he said: – “No” to the privatization of all higher education. Youth across Poland have the right to receive free education at universities if their parents cannot afford it.

– We cannot allow healthcare to be privatized, even though it is so imperfect. For many years, we have failed to fix it, but Poles must have free access to healthcare throughout the country – he continued.

Trzaskowski:

He Hangs Banners for Him, Prevents Him from Debating Me." Nawrocki on Tusk "Babysitting

– The vision of my main opponent, Rafał Trzaskowski, is to sign everything Donald Tusk tells him to. Donald Tusk is babysitting him today, hanging banners for him, preventing him from debating me. Donald Tusk holds the control panel for Rafał Trzaskowski, and we want the president to be the guardian of normality, of a free, independent Poland, a strong, safe, normal Poland – said Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

Solidarity Chief at Nawrocki's Rally:

A Wonderful, Sensitive Man, a Future President.

– We must get involved. There are still a few weeks of hard work ahead of us to convince Poles. If necessary, we will go door to door. Because you know that he is a wonderful, sensitive man and he is our future president – said Piotr Duda during a meeting with Karol Nawrocki in Jaworzno.

– The “Solidarity” trade union has endorsed Karol Nawrocki’s candidacy. […] We have signed a program agreement with Karol […], and the first, most important point in this agreement is that Karol will never allow any government to raise the retirement age. […] This hand will not sign any negative consequences when it comes to social affairs – he continued.

Siemoniak on Ryszard Cyba's release from prison:

I have no doubt that he should be under constant supervision

Undoubtedly, this matter should be clarified. I have no knowledge of it, and I believe that the prison service, the court, or other authorities should simply clarify this situation. It cannot be this way, it should not be this way, and there is not full knowledge of all of this, of course; the ministers said a lot today, but it needs to be clarified – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in the program „Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.

I have no doubt that [Ryszard Cyba] should be under constant supervision. I also think that the public should have been informed about this situation in an appropriate manner beforehand, not, as I would say, after certain facts have occurred – he added.

Siemoniak on the Lifting of Wąsik and Kamiński’s Immunity:

It’s High Time, Let the Polish Justice System Judge Them.

One could say it’s high time, because these are individuals who fled to the European Parliament [Kamiński and Wąsik]. No one hears about any activity from them in the European Parliament. It was an action where, since they were stripped of their mandates in the Polish Sejm, they went to the European Parliament with all the fuss PiS generated around it. So, it's a good, just decision, and let the Polish justice system judge them. I am not prejudging their guilt – said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

Siemoniak:

Ziobro Will Face the Commission Sooner or Later

I realize that this was an action taken under immense media pressure. Mr. Ziobro sat there, giving an excessively long interview to show that he didn't have to appear before the commission. Then the arrest. It wasn't an easy situation, and I am on the commission's side here – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

This isn't over; they will continue to summon Ziobro. Ziobro will face this commission sooner or later. And the court, in its ruling, clearly indicated that this commission is legal, contrary to what PiS members are saying and believing – he added.
