Müller on Internal Polls:
Nawrocki Holds a Safe Lead Over Mentzen.
– I was waiting for this narrative here on TVN [that Karol Nawrocki is not doing well in the campaign]. I believe that ultimately, the best poll is the election itself. And here, some years ago, during Bronisław Komorowski’s campaign, you showed large bars for Bronisław Komorowski on these big screens. And then they got a bit smaller. The same will happen with Rafał Trzaskowski – stated Piotr Müller in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24.
– Nawrocki is ahead of Mentzen [in internal polls]. Yes [significantly ahead], it's a lead that is safe at the moment. It's a large enough lead, a few percentage points, which allows us to sleep soundly in the sense of continuing an active campaign without panicking – he continued.
07:51
Müller on Mentzen's Poll Numbers:
There's an Electorate That's Always Looking for Someone New.
– I think there are people who are dissatisfied with the current government, and at the same time are not yet convinced by Karol Nawrocki and PiS. So they are looking for a third choice candidate. The Third Way, in the form of Szymon Hołownia, has, let's say, derailed, and there's an electorate that is always looking for someone new – stated Piotr Müller in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.
07:52
– No such conspiracy theories have recurred, like Karol Nawrocki would be replaced, because I've also read many times in the media that this was supposed to be the strategy. As you can see, he is a registered candidate, everyone is working for him. We expect him to win the election – stated Piotr Müller on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Conversation).

Nowacka:
Homework is Not Banned, Just Optional
– We certainly need to improve, as a ministry, communication and support for teachers, so they know that homework is not banned, it's just optional. […] If we treat school solely within a system of coercion and forcing grades – that's precisely what homework often served… […] We all say, and numerous studies also show, that school must be a friendly place, one where the teacher has a leading role – said Barbara Nowacka in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.
– When a teacher has a leading role, then a grade for homework, done by ChatGPT or parents, is not necessarily a real tool for assessing work outcomes – she continued.
08:37
– Teachers can assign homework, and they very often do. They can check it; it doesn't have to be a numerical grade. It can be other tools, and teachers have plenty of them – said Barbara Nowacka in the “Morning Conversation” on RMF FM.
– But wait, I want to know what tools a teacher has when a seventh-grade student comes in and says, “I didn’t do it, what are you going to do about it, ma’am or sir?” – asked Tomasz Terlikowski.
– If a student addresses a teacher in this way, it raises significant questions about how they are being raised by their parents – because it is parents who are responsible for raising children – that they behave in a disrespectful manner towards the teacher – replied the Minister of Education.
– A teacher who has prestige and authority – and that is what we are striving for in the ministry – has other tools for enforcement. Teachers work in various ways, for example, they inspire students, they show them competition on well-understood tasks, and then they have other tools for rewarding and distinguishing students who do their homework well – she continued.
When pressed about a student who is completely indifferent, she answered: – I would encourage teachers to talk to the parents of a student who has […] a rather reluctant attitude towards learning; I will not quote you here.
08:44
Błaszczak:
K2 Tanks Will Not Be Produced in Poland Until the Government Changes
– I put forward the thesis that K2 tanks will not be produced in Poland, and why? Because they are a competition for German Leopards. And today, those governing Poland are very strongly tied to Germany […] until the government changes, K2 tanks will not be produced in Poland – said Mariusz Błaszczak on "Poranek Wnet".
08:49
Błaszczak on the Borsuk Infantry Fighting Vehicle Contract:
A Disgrace.
– Such a symbolic event took place last week, the signing of the executive agreement for the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles. […] 111 units […] by 2029. This is a disgrace – said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio Wnet.
08:55
Błaszczak:
Our Opponent is Trzaskowski. We Don't Attack Konfederacja, Konfederacja Attacks Us
– For us, the opponent is Rafał Trzaskowski. We do not attack Konfederacja, it is Konfederacja that attacks us, for example, the issue of defense on the Vistula [...] the matter of lifting my immunity, part of Konfederacja voted the same way as Civic Platform – said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio Wnet.
– It's like I'm hearing a politician from Civic Platform, it's sad – he continued, referring to Krzysztof Bosak's words, who criticized the disclosure of Poland's defense plans.
08:57
– Most schools, however, have internal regulations. If we were to introduce such regulations [a ban on using phones during lessons], it would mean imposing a direct legal obligation on teachers to enforce it, without realistically providing them with appropriate sanctioning tools – said Barbara Nowacka in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.
– What sanctioning tool could there be – taking away a phone owned by parents? A very difficult mechanism – she indicated.
– If a school internally: parents, teachers, students decide – "no phones during lessons in our school," then it is adhered to, because it is an internal social contract. [Or they are placed in a box] Or they are placed at the entrance inside the classroom, for a certain degree of security. […] We absolutely support such solutions. These are recommendations that we will also refer to and will also refer to the fact that digital hygiene should be maintained in grades I-III – she continued.
09:00
Błaszczak:
No Signs of PSL's Readiness to Declare Independence
"The biggest saboteur is, of course, Donald Tusk [...] The problem is that there are no signs, no indications, no elements whatsoever from the PSL showing they are ready to declare independence" – Mariusz Błaszczak stated on Radio Wnet, when asked if he would vote for Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz to remove Donald Tusk from power.
09:05
– A year has passed [since the introduction of non-mandatory homework in primary schools], so now is the time when a real evaluation can begin. We will be conducting such research. I hope that by September of the next school year, we will be ready to communicate – said Barbara Nowacka in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM.
– We will ask teachers, we will ask students, and we will ask parents – she added.
09:06
Błaszczak on Tusk and the march he called:
Perhaps he will refer to the creation of the Warsaw Pact.
– We encourage people to be proud that we are Poles, to be proud that 1000 years have passed since the coronation of Bolesław the Brave […] and what does Donald Tusk intend to celebrate? It seems that the Warsaw Pact was created in May ’55. Perhaps he will refer to that – said Mariusz Błaszczak on Radio Wnet.
09:53
Bosak:
I'm not declaring support for a rival candidate, but I wouldn't want Trzaskowski to win
– I have stated many times in the media that I would not want Rafał Trzaskowski to win. I do not support and am not declaring support for any rival candidate; however, I am saying that I would not want 100% of power in Poland to fall into the hands of Donald Tusk's people, because I assess their way of exercising power and how they govern negatively – stated Krzysztof Bosak on the program “Sedno sprawy” on Radio Plus.
09:54
Bosak:
We are aware that polls are artificially inflated
– We approach polls very cautiously, because we have been in a situation more than twice where polls indicated great optimism, but the result was somewhat weaker. Therefore, we are aware that these polls are somehow artificially inflated. We are aware of this and we are approaching it calmly. We believe that the election result is what matters, not the polls – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Plus.
09:55
Bosak Responds to Accusations Against Mentzen:
This is an Attempt to Drag Old Accusations Out of the Closet.
– The opponents have launched an attack on Sławomir Mentzen, trying to attribute all sorts of controversial things to him, and this needs to be clearly answered: it is entirely unfounded. Sławomir Mentzen's views have been known for years. These are conservative views, sovereignty-oriented views, economically liberal ones, however, he has not proposed anything controversial in this election campaign. This is an attempt to drag old accusations out of the closet and give them a second life – stated Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Plus.
09:56
Bosak:
We Are Not Proposing Any Changes to Abortion Laws or Student Funding
– Dozens of different issues were raised [in the interview on Channel Zero], and the media are not coincidentally focusing on those that could unnecessarily scare voters away. In response to this, we are not currently proposing any changes regarding the regulations on abortion, nor are we proposing any changes concerning student funding – said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio Plus.

Domański on GUS Data:
We Will Likely See a Further Drop in Inflation.
– Inflation in March was 4.9%. Once again, below analysts' expectations (5.1%). In the coming months, we will likely see a further drop in inflation – wrote Andrzej Domański on social media.

Ziobro Presents Fragment of Police Note:
Exposing Lies and a Security Service Provocation Ordered by Tusk.
“The commander of the Warsaw police sent the court a document that exposes the lies and the security service provocation ordered by Donald Tusk to the chairwoman of the illegal Pegasus committee, Magdalena Sroka. The official note indicates that Sroka was informed about the police's actions and knew that the court's decision setting the date of detention was of key importance,” wrote Zbigniew Ziobro on X.
The former Minister of Justice claims that the 10:30 AM time indicated the start of the committee's work but did not limit the possibility of summoning him as a witness.
“Before the session began, MP Sroka informed the police that she would order a break in the work of this pseudo-committee until noon to allow for the witness to be brought in. When the police arrived with me at the Sejm and we were waiting to enter the chamber, the committee – contrary to earlier arrangements – suddenly voted on a request for arrest and ended the meeting. And then, in front of the cameras, the scoundrels lied, feigning outrage and deceiving even their own voters,” Ziobro continued in his post, to which he attached a photo of the police note.
“This is further irrefutable proof that the illegal committee extorted consent from the court for my apprehension not for the purpose of questioning, but for pure political spectacle. Therefore, the committee's next request – this time for arrest – has no basis whatsoever and leaves the court no other option than to dismiss it. This note also proves that the pseudo-committee exists solely to attack the opposition on Donald Tusk's orders – in this case, through an unlawful attempt to detain an opposition MP,” added the former Minister of Justice.

Court Decides on Ziobro's Detention:
We Will Appeal.
– In this situation, we will be filing an appeal. We do not agree with this decision. The court, in its reasoning, also emphasized that Zbigniew Ziobro's behavior is unacceptable, that his stance, which he presented, should not have taken place, however, it did not grant the committee's request – said Magdalena Sroka after the court announced its decision regarding Zbigniew Ziobro.

Morawiecki on the Pablo Morales case:
Russia is already here.
– Members of the ruling party, using state money, hire haters who sabotage Polish-American relations. Previously Pablo Gonzalez – now Pablo Morales. Russia is already here – wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on X.

– Le Pen, who is leading in the polls, will likely be disqualified from the presidential election in France. This is the second case, after Romania, where the system removes candidates who could threaten it. Is this the 'fighting democracy' that Tusk spoke of? Will Poles be able to choose their own president? – Sławomir Mentzen wrote on platform X.
Prowadząca w sondażach Le Pen zostanie prawdopodobnie wykluczona z wyborów prezydenckich we Francji. To już drugi po Rumunii przypadek, gdy system usuwa kandydatów, którzy mogą mu zagrozić.

– Some pro-government media jubilantly chirped in connection with my slip of the tongue yesterday. The thread concerning ‘laluś’ is definitely more worthy of attention — Jarosław Kaczyński wrote on platform X.
The PiS leader referred to his words from Sunday: “we haven’t heard a single word from Mr. Nawrocki that would indicate he is distancing himself from all these practices that are being applied today, that he is distancing himself from this whole narrative, which in essence aims to achieve one thing – to ensure that there is no real opposition in Poland.”

“Dear American friends, we have just signed another Polish-American defense agreement. For us Poles, our friendship, our alliance, our mutual loyalty, is not an abstraction” – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a recording posted on X.
“In cooperation with the USA, we are building a modern and the largest army in Europe. To defend our borders, but also our common values and interests” – he continued.
“America could and can always count on Poland. You have only friends here, and I can say the same about the whole of Europe. You have friends and trusted allies from Portugal to Poland, from Denmark to Greece” – he went on.
“Our common American-European interest is a strong USA, a strong European Union, and a strong NATO. Not weaker ones. Think about this, Mr. President and dear American friends, before you decide to impose tariffs on your closest allies” – he added.
“Mr. President, cooperation is always better than confrontation” – he stressed.

Tusk after signing the agreement with the USA:
Confirmation of our years-long and increasingly intensive cooperation.
– What just happened, the signing of the agreement [for the supply of logistical and training elements for Phase II of the Wisła program] by the Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, is a confirmation of our years-long and increasingly intensive cooperation with the United States in the area of security – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Sochaczew.
– In today's difficult, complicated times, Poland is an exceptional example of good cooperation for the defence and security of Poland, NATO, the United States, and all of Europe. And we all know that this is not simple today. […] For us, the issue of alliances, security, Polish-American cooperation, NATO stability – all of this is not an abstraction, for us these are important matters – he continued.
As he indicated: – We illustrate our commitment to these matters with billions of dollars or euros that we invest in our security.
16:17
Tusk:
We are a Loyal and Stable Ally, Regardless of Political Turbulence
– For years, and especially intensely in recent months, we have been showing that we are a loyal, stable ally and that regardless of political turbulence, Poland will be here, in this difficult part of the world, a state that respects alliances and respects all agreements. If we commit, for example, to investing truly gigantic amounts of Poles' money in our security, we do so because it concerns the security of the entire West, the entire North Atlantic Pact – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Sochaczew.
16:24
Tusk on NATO's Role in the Presence of an American Diplomat:
Friends on Both Sides of the Atlantic.
"Let me use the presence of our American friend, a representative of the embassy, the United States government, to emphasize once again very strongly – on both sides of the Atlantic, there are friends living, acting, working, and earning. There is no conflict of interest on fundamental matters between allies within NATO," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Sochaczew.
"If Poland is an example that even in very difficult circumstances, one can steadfastly stand together with allies, shoulder to shoulder, then let it be an example for everyone without exception, that there are important things, but above all the most important – and these are the defense of our Western civilization against threats that are visible to the naked eye," he continued.
16:28
Tusk Addresses Allies in the Presence of an American Diplomat:
There can be no room for confrontation within NATO.
– The war on our eastern border has made us all aware of how real the risks associated with a new global confrontation are. I would like these words to resonate particularly loudly here in Sochaczew – a place that is rarely in the spotlight, known for: the military, anti-aircraft, air, and missile defense requiring discretion and concrete actions – but perhaps it is precisely here in Sochaczew that words will sound louder, addressed to everyone: Europeans, Americans, Canadians – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Sochaczew.
As the head of government indicated: – This is a time for consolidation, this is a time for full cooperation. There can be no room for confrontation within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, between allies. We all have one common interest, and it is worth remembering that. Poland will remember this.
16:39
Tusk Addresses US Chargé d'Affaires:
The US Has Only Friends in Poland.
– I am addressing you through our guest and co-host of today's meeting [the US Embassy's Chargé d'Affaires – ed.] – the United States has only friends here in Poland. It has always been this way and always will be. Believe me – and Poland also plays the role of the European presidency – that the same is true throughout Europe. The United States has friends, from Portugal to Poland, from Denmark to Greece – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in Sochaczew.
– We all want peace, we all want to defeat the evil that lurks around our borders, and we all want the most stable cooperation possible, full cooperation within NATO – he added.
16:42
Kosiniak-Kamysz:
We're Not Breaking Contracts, We're Signing New Ones. If Someone Can't Help, They Shouldn't Hinder
– A radical shift in course has occurred in Europe. Investments in the defense industry, increased spending, for which Poland is a pioneer. Poland was first and here, in cooperation with our strategic partner, the United States, there is an exchange of experiences, skills, and equipment purchases – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Sochaczew.
– Some politicians are skeptical of these truly very impactful actions that are happening today both in Europe and in Poland, such as the construction of the East Shield and other projects we have proposed. They even recently tried to claim that someone would break American contracts. They were using some fake news here – he continued.
– Today is the best day to say: we will not break any contracts, we are signing new ones […]. If someone cannot help, then they had better not get in the way – he went on to say.
16:47
Tusk Thanks the Military:
I Bow My Head Low Before Your Daily Effort.
– For your great effort every day – every: soldier, officer, general – I would like to sincerely thank you. Thanks to you, Polish women and men feel truly safe in these difficult times. I truly bow my head low before your daily effort – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Sochaczew.
– I know how demanding this service is. But you know, you feel it every day, how important a part of the entire nation you are. Everyone trusts you. This is perhaps the most important guarantee of our security, namely this complete community of the military and the nation – he assessed.
19:11
Sikorski:
Our efforts will not cease until a just peace is achieved
– Today in Madrid, a continuation of the format initiated in Warsaw – the EU's "Big Five", expanded to include Great Britain, Ukraine, and the High Representative of the EU and Commissioner for Defence – he wrote.
– Europe is providing 60% of military aid to Ukraine. Our efforts will not cease until a just peace is achieved – emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
19:17
Bosak:
Mentzen's Words on Abortion Haven't Impressed Anyone But Our Opponents
– We don't feel that it has made an impression on anyone other than our opponents, who are ineptly trying to use Sławomir Mentzen's views [on abortion] against him – said Krzysztof Bosak in a conversation with Polskie Radio 24.
– Sławomir Mentzen hasn't said anything new beyond what he has been saying for over a dozen years since he entered public life. And I truly think we should be past the stage of having grievances against someone, for example, for holding conservative views – he stated.
As he assessed: – I think people in the mainstream of public life should simply get used to pluralism. Since we have a place in public life and the media for people who march with lightning bolts and want to kill children because they like it, or believe they have too small apartments – as one actress put it, stating that this is a sufficient reason – then let's also get used to the fact that there are people for whom the constitutional right to life matters.
19:21
Bosak on Mentzen's Statement Regarding Abortion in Cases of Rape:
I Wouldn't Use Those Words, They Sounded Undelicate.
– I wouldn't use those words. Regardless of what exactly Sławomir Mentzen meant, they sounded undelicate towards victims of rape. We believe that rape must be combated with full force – said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Polskie Radio 24, when asked if he endorsed Sławomir Mentzen's words: "It is forbidden to kill innocent children, even if that child is associated with some unpleasantness.".
19:33
Bosak:
Mentzen Stands for Life and Won't Deny It
– He [Sławomir Mentzen] holds a pro-life stance and will not deny it. In my opinion, voters should despise politicians who renounce their views just to win an election – he stated.
19:43
Bosak:
I fear young voters won't turn out. I appeal to everyone to vote.
– Aren't you concerned that these young voters, who are appearing in large numbers at Sławomir Mentzen's rallies, might not turn out to vote on May 18th, will stay home? They are wavering, unstable, as young voters are – Kamil Szewczyk asked in a conversation on Polish Radio 24.
– I might surprise you, Mr. Editor, but I do fear that. That is why I appeal to everyone to go vote. And the fact that there are several times fewer young voters than older generations already works against us – Krzysztof Bosak replied.
19:47
Bosak:
We Realize That to Win Elections, We Must Convince the 50+ Demographic
– Thank God we have a very large number of voters in the middle generation, people around my age, 40-year-olds, 30-year-olds. They are also a significant electoral base for Konfederacja. However, we realize that in order to win these elections – and any subsequent ones – we must convince the 50+ and 60+ demographics, because demographically, they are the largest group – said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Polish Radio 24.
