At 8:30 AM, a press conference will be held at the Ministry of Family, Labour, and Social Policy by Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk. The topic is the entry into force of the law on extended parental leave for premature babies.

On Wednesday, the Poland 2050 Parliamentary Club is to present for the second time its "law concerning the organization of state-owned companies." This was announced on Tuesday at a press conference by Szymon Hołownia.

Sejm Session Begins

A two-day Sejm session also commences on Wednesday. Procedural votes are scheduled for 10:00 AM, followed by the second reading of the government's draft law on development cooperation at 10:10 AM. At 12:00 PM, the second reading of the government's draft law on State Medical Rescue will take place.

At 1:15 PM, the second reading of the government's draft law on public healthcare benefits is scheduled. This proposal aims to simplify and reduce the health contribution for entrepreneurs.

At 2:00 PM, the second reading of the government's draft law ratifying the Amendments to the Maritime Labour Convention is scheduled. At 3:15 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary draft resolution on amending the Sejm's rules of procedure will occur, and at 4:00 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary draft resolution on the presidential elections in Belarus.

At 4:45 PM, the second reading of a parliamentary draft law on the veterinary profession and veterinary chambers is foreseen. At 6:00 PM, the first reading of the government's draft law on the National Cardiology Network is planned.

At 7:15 PM, the Sejm will address the document presented by the Minister of Health, "National Program for Cardiovascular Diseases for the years 2022-2032 – Annual Report on the Program's Implementation for 2023." At 8:45 PM and 9:00 PM, committee reports are scheduled regarding Łukasz Mejza's motion to consent to the criminal prosecution of Anita Kucharska-Dziedzic.

Presidential Candidates on the Campaign Trail

At 2:00 PM, a press conference will begin in Warsaw with Karol Nawrocki following a meeting with new technology sector experts.

At 5:30 PM, an open meeting with Rafał Trzaskowski is scheduled in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

Szymon Hołownia will continue his visit to the Lubuskie Voivodeship on Wednesday. A press briefing is scheduled for 10:30 AM in Zielona Góra, and an open meeting with residents is planned for 3:00 PM in Strzelce Krajeńskie. Meanwhile, at 5:30 PM, an open meeting with residents will commence in Gorzów Wielkopolski.

Sławomir Mentzen will visit three towns on Wednesday: Węgrów, Grajewo, and Pisz. Meetings with the Confederation candidate will begin at 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 8:00 PM respectively.

– The sanctity of death should not be violated and brutalized by politicians. Simply put, there are certain boundaries that should be respected. Just as the Smolensk catastrophe – it will be 15 years soon – caused some PiS politicians to consider it excellent fuel, and we all witnessed that cynicism, today [in the case of Barbara Skrzypek's death] I have a feeling that some – I'm not saying all – are very eager to use death, which is always painful […], as a wonderful tool for attack – said Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Mariusz Piekarski on TVP Info's "Morning Guest.".

– This should not be the case, out of respect for the deceased's family and the memory of the deceased herself. We saw this 15 years ago, how one can cynically, for political gain, forget about people who were important. Unfortunately, PiS politicians did this – she continued.

– I am not an expert in prosecution matters, nor do I know the details of the proceedings or actions. However, it seems to me that in politics, such caution is very important, especially in matters that have the potential for great sensitivity – said Barbara Nowacka on TVP Info's "Gość poranka" (Morning Guest), when asked if she saw mistakes on the part of the prosecution in the case of Barbara Skrzypek's death.

– I wonder if certain actions perhaps could have been conducted more wisely, with the understanding that we must act very consistently, very competently, but with great political sensitivity – she stated.

When pressed if she meant the assignment of prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek to this case, she replied: – I am talking about the overall picture that appears to us today. Although from what I hear from Minister Adam Bodnar – and I have 100% trust in him – everything proceeded formally correctly: a prosecutor was assigned with all competencies, the possibility of refusing the participation of an attorney. […] However, I think that often, in addition to formalities, one must also think much more prospectively, and I have a sense that actions in this matter could have been prepared a bit more carefully.

– With retroactivity, these 5-percent raises [for teachers] will be paid out starting January 1st. I signed the regulation on March 11th. It requires a second signature, [...] yesterday Minister Dziemianowicz-Bąk signed it, and yesterday it was published on the Ministry of Education website – said Barbara Nowacka on TVP Info's “Gość poranka” (Morning Guest).

– For now, there is a subject called education for security, and it, like many other subjects, is currently undergoing evaluation, assessment, and likely changes from 2026. A subject that will concern pro-defense actions, civil defense, what we used to have in schools as defensive preparedness, is absolutely essential. Whether it's called education for security or defensive preparedness – that's secondary. The content is important – stated Barbara Nowacka on TVP Info's "Morning Guest".

– There will be a segment on civil defense within physical education, and the subject concerning security and civil defense will certainly be strengthened. However, whether it will be called education for security or defensive preparedness – I would lean towards the latter – she indicated.

– Today, we will submit a new bill to the Sejm on the depoliticization of State Treasury companies. Professionalism instead of amateurism, competitions instead of cronyism. The goal: the development of Polish companies through hardworking bees instead of fat cats. On this matter, cross-party agreement will be a symbol of decency – Szymon Hołownia wrote on social media.

– [NIK controllers] found very serious irregularities […] unfortunately, we are dealing with a blatant violation of the law when it comes to the leadership of the Ministry of Justice, contrary to the public finance act […] the Hermes software was purchased without applying the public procurement act, and this was an obligation because the software was purchased with budgetary funds – said Marian Banaś in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on the Radio Plus program “Sedno Sprawy” (The Essence of the Matter).

– Also, the principles that apply precisely in the public finance act […] meaning, for instance, in an economical, purposeful manner […] were not observed. In this case, we are dealing with very serious shortcomings and irregularities, not only in terms of mismanagement but also violations of the law […] the software was not necessary to purchase at all; it was a decision of the highest leadership of the Ministry of Justice, and at that time, the Minister of Justice was Minister Zbigniew Ziobro – he continued.

– I have always said and I repeat, I said it here in your studio as well, that we are ready for a coalition with Konfederacja immediately, because the right side of the political scene must drive out the coalition of December 13th – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– The problem is that Konfederacja often says they will also talk to Civic Platform (PO). That is, with those who have brought the state to paralysis, and here is a red flag that should light up for voters who will go to vote for Sławomir Mentzen on May 18th – he added.

– 5 hours of interrogation and in total, effectively 4 or 5 pages of protocol written by Ms. Wrzosek. What were they doing with Mrs. Barbara Skrzypek for 5 hours? When you talk for 5 hours, the protocol is huge, but this protocol has nothing in it. Speculations about this, Mr. Kalisz, disgustingly said that Mrs. Skrzypek probably buried Mr. Chairman Kaczyński, and that's why she got upset. Unbelievable insinuations, there's nothing there – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– This is a scandal, it is an unprecedented scandal, it is a hunt for Jarosław Kaczyński that unequivocally contributed to Mrs. Skrzypek's death, and Mr. Bondar, if he has a shred of honor, should hide in a closet, and preferably resign – he continued.

– We have prepared notifications [to the prosecutor's office]; two notifications have been sent, one notification concerning mismanagement, and the second concerning abuse of power. These notifications were signed yesterday and sent to the prosecutor's office – said Marian Banaś on Radio Plus.

– We dealt not only with irregularities concerning the purchase of [Hermes software] itself, but also with issuing orders to surveil individuals without a legal basis [...] Unfortunately, such situations occurred [the then prosecutor's office, under the supervision of Zbigniew Ziobro, surveilled individuals in high positions from the PiS camp] [...] the purchase was made by the same company that supplied Pegasus – he continued.

– One notification concerns the case, the second concerns a specific person. I will only say: the national prosecutor – he went on to say.

– In a situation where there is no crime, a person is summoned to force testimony. They talk to a sickly woman for 5 hours, instruct her in writing about her rights, even though it is stated in the same protocol that the witness has difficulty reading, and she pretends to be crazy. Ladies and gentlemen, let's talk about what is the worst in the state today. The law doesn't work in this country; scenes reminiscent of North Korea are being staged. This is a problem, this is the paralysis of the state – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– Unfortunately, here we have [to deal with] a truly blatant violation of sound economic principles… the first example off the top of my head is the purchase of food for the Ukrainian population, where the supplier resold the food to the agency for a sum 200% higher than when they made the purchase – said Marian Banaś in an interview with Radio Plus, when asked about the audit at the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS).

– This is absolute mismanagement… The second example is the purchase of trucks from a neighbor indicated by one of the agency's management superiors, where these trucks were subsequently leased back to the person who was simply delivering the goods to Ukraine, having their own drivers and their own infrastructure at their disposal – he continued.

– Our auditors are already working on the material concerning this matter, and in the near future, these notifications will be filed with the prosecutor's office – he added.

– I didn't like [the staging involving Nawrocki under a pseudonym on TVP]. In 2018, 7 years ago, Karol Nawrocki was not a politician, he did not intend to be a politician, he did not foresee his political career. He foresaw his career as a historian who wrote a book about a criminal. Bringing this up now, after 7 years, has no significance whatsoever – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– Fortunately, President Zelensky came to his senses and the very next day stated that he wants lasting peace under Trump's leadership. Very well, President Zelensky, we want a free, sovereign Ukraine, but only one that thinks reasonably about its future – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– I did not say he is a fool. There is a complete difference [that he behaved like a fool]. For example, I have often found myself in situations where I could say that I acted that way, I think you have too, everyone in life does, but that doesn't mean we are fools – he continued.

– I recently read an article on a serious online portal that said PO [Civic Platform] is terrified because Trzaskowski has nothing to draw from in the second round. I am extremely pleased that these 57% of people who are dissatisfied with the situation in Poland are currently placing their sympathies with the political right, and this is the prescription for the victory of the right-wing candidate Karol Nawrocki in the second round of the elections – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Zet.

– Mr. Sławomir Mentzen is gaining significant support, and in my opinion, this is better than if Hołownia were doing it – he added.

– It wasn’t my initiative; it was the initiative of some citizens, for which I am grateful, they have respect for me […] I want to say, and now officially, that we have a lot to do when it comes to the Supreme Audit Office, I want to deal with these matters and simply really do this job as best as possible until the end of my term – Marian Banaś said on Radio Plus, when asked about his candidacy in the presidential elections.

– I will not [be a presidential candidate], I believe that the work in the Supreme Audit Office and the challenges I am currently facing are far more serious – he continued.

– This is a decision for the MPs; MPs will decide who they entrust their confidence to for the next 6 years. In any case, I am open; everyone knows what my achievements have been, how seriously I treated my function, and how significantly I contributed, along with my auditors […] to improving the functioning of the state and local government bodies – he further stated, when asked if he would seek another term as head of the NIK.

– I am not talking to anyone; I am open; this is a sovereign decision of the MPs – he added.

– Donald Tusk's government is leading us to disaster and breaking new disgraceful records. We have over 36 billion in deficit after two months of 2025! We were promised lower prices in shops and more money in our wallets, but instead, we are facing a wave of rent increases and a state budget catastrophe – Karol Nawrocki wrote on social media.

– As far as I know, the rule is that witnesses usually testify without attorneys, but from what practitioners, whose statements I have familiarized myself with, claim, as a rule, a witness is admitted to examination together with an attorney – Marcin Wiącek told journalists in the Sejm.

– Legal provisions allow for such a situation, a refusal to grant consent. Whether this refusal to grant consent in this case [Barbara Skrzypek's] was justified or not, I do not have information to comment on that. The prosecutor possesses such competence – he continued.

– What I, as the Commissioner for Human Rights, can say is what the legal provisions are, and I can assess, based on the information I have, whether this examination took place in accordance with legal provisions. And please forgive me, but it is still too early. Because yesterday I contacted the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw with a request to address these issues, and I will be able to comment on this matter once I have familiarized myself with this material – he went on to say.

– The main legal issue that arises is the question of refusing to admit an attorney. I emphasize, the prosecutor has the competencies for this – he added.

– I kindly request, on behalf of the club, for the session to be adjourned for an hour. I know this is within the Sejm Marshal's purview, therefore I ask for the convocation of the senior council and the scheduling of an additional, one-day extraordinary Sejm session for next week, to discuss and hold a serious discussion on the state of the rule of law in our country – stated Elżbieta Witek in the Sejm.

– We have not only the right but also the duty to ask questions about why this death [Barbara Skrzypek] occurred, knowing its circumstances. Meanwhile, the prosecution, instead of thoroughly investigating this matter, is threatening us with lawsuits. Please do not threaten us, we are genuinely not afraid. Regardless of what plans you have for us, we will ask how it happened that during the interrogation of an elderly, infirm person, her representative was not present, why there was no stenographer, and who prepared the protocol – the PiS MP continued.

– We know that Mrs. Barbara was alone with her fear, and facing her were 3 politicized representatives of the prosecution and the bar – she added.

– I look at you, I know many of you. I ask: what else needs to happen, is there not one righteous person among you who will say "enough" to stop this evil? And I appeal to all honest prosecutors and judges – Poland needs your courage today. Defend the law, defend the Republic of Poland – she concluded.

– Last week, the European Parliament voted for a revolution regarding EU defence, contrary to the lies of the smiling coalition. It did not concern the Eastern Shield. Only one amendment, which we supported, was related to it. Let the world know, let Poles know what you voted for. You voted to transfer over PLN 8 billion to Ukraine every year. With that money, all pensioners could be exempted from income tax – stated Sławomir Mentzen in the Sejm.

– You have transferred decision-making power regarding Europe's defence from Poland to Brussels, depriving Poland of its veto right. You have transferred defence industry orders to the European Commission. Which companies do you think will fulfill these orders? French and German ones, just as when the EU previously allocated EUR 500 million for ammunition, Poland received EUR 2 million. Half a percent, and it will be the same now, and for all of this, a common EU debt, and you agreed to all of it – he continued.

As the Confederation candidate stated: – If you don't want to govern Poland, if you don't want to be responsible for Poland's defence, then resign, don't hand it over to Berlin.

– We are building truly grand projects worth billions of zlotys. I remind you that these billions were also secured thanks to my intervention; these 2 billion PLN are needed to complete the second metro line, as well as to finish the tram investment in Wilanów. Many thanks to the European Commission for financially supporting Warsaw's projects, which is also, of course, proof of our credibility – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing.

– We are completing the second line, designing the third, and conceptualizing the fourth metro line, and of course, in order to realize this great dream of all Varsovians, to have five metro lines and a full public transport system by 2050 – the Mayor of Warsaw continued.

– We need to mention [...] how important it is that we finally have a president in Poland who isn't a TikTok comedian, someone who races with athletes to see how quickly they can flee from people's questions, a president who doesn't know their own name, Karol Nawrocki or Tadeusz Batyr, nor has gangster friends, or a president who will be the Prime Minister's yes-man – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– We need a president who will simply work hard from dawn till dusk – he continued.

– This question has been asked of me, I believe, for the 67th time. For the 67th time, I am answering. When I am in Warsaw and working for Warsaw, as I am today, I am working for Warsaw. – The President cannot just reside in the palace, sit around, veto, and occasionally attend an event or a banquet. If demographics don't pick up, young people […] will pay not only for pensions but also for subsidies to our pensions, I'm talking about my generation, and they will also have to support the grandparent generation. Who will bear this, who will endure this? – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– Demographics, public transport. In places like Lubuskie, for example, just look at how much simpler it would be to handle tourist traffic if those two railway connections were built – he continued.

– I hope that these two meetings today will be as good and intense as yesterday's. I am very pleased that voters from the Confederation are attending them in large numbers. They are no longer Confederation voters who used to come to the first meetings to boo and shout. Now they come and want to talk – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– Yesterday, after the meeting, I stayed for half an hour with one of Sławomir Mentzen's voters, who told me he wouldn't vote for me. I spent half an hour with him, talking, answering his questions, and I told him directly: Sir, if it were Mentzen, he would have been gone 45 minutes ago, because he would have already been running to his bus to play his hurdy-gurdy elsewhere – he continued.

– Also in the context of our campaign, when I hear Mentzen or Nawrocki saying that one will have to negotiate with Putin, that they would shake his hand, listen, Putin will not negotiate with anyone, with any Nawrocki or any Mentzen. He won't even pay attention to them. He won't even stoop to talk with them – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– Anyone who says today that they will talk with Putin does not understand the alphabet of the international situation. Today, it must be said very clearly and plainly that the answer to this concert of powers [...] is European security. Putin only understands a position of strength. Therefore, today we must build maximum strength with our allies who want to build this strength and enter this game from this position. This game cannot be played over our heads – he continued.

– Stories about someone 'sorting things out' with Trump end up like President Duda's case, where he went for a big meeting and ended up waiting in the lobby – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– When he gave an interview saying Americans would give us nuclear weapons, it took Americans 24 hours to deny that information. We do not need such leadership – he continued.

– Anyone who today is against European security, in which Poland should play a leading role, is a traitor. They are a traitor to our independence. Today, our strength lies in alliances, which Poland knows how, should be able, and should even try harder to build – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– There are many mistakes and many questions that candidate Nawrocki has been making and that surround him recently. We've heard that there are only two choices, namely Karol Nawrocki and Tadeusz Batyr, if I remember correctly. We hear about his subsequent associations with various individuals, we hear that one doesn't really need to get vaccinated much, unless it's for the flu, is this supposed to be the President of the Republic? – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra.

– As for his contacts with the so-called underworld, he will, of course, claim that it is solely out of research interest, what else can he claim? He will have to adopt such a defense line. In the end, the voters will decide – he continued.

– I have been asking for these bills for a year. […] I have repeatedly asked the Minister of Justice, I have drawn attention to this: we need judicial bills, a bill on the Supreme Court, a bill on the prosecution service, we need them as soon as possible. "Duda will veto them," well, he will veto them, but people elected us to pass laws in the Sejm – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Zielona Góra, when asked which of the bills concerning so-called neo-judges he would like to support.

– I hear that these bills will be introduced, I am talking about bills concerning the status of judges. I hear that they will be introduced, but as far as I know, they are not yet in the Sejm. When they are, of course, we will work on them, this is the last call. Because if the new president is to have them on their desk first, they need to be passed now, in March, April – he continued.

– For now, I have heard, Minister Bodnar has not consulted me on this, that there will be two draft bills, one that will effectively reset the situation and revert to the state before the appointment of this flawed National Council of the Judiciary, and another that will allow each case of judicial appointment to be considered separately. I am decidedly in favour of the latter solution. […] Revenge, collective responsibility is not a method of restoring justice – he went on to say.

– A bill denouncing the Ottawa Convention will soon be submitted to parliament. If someone does not support this action, because I hear there are such voices, that someone will not vote for the strengthening of Poland, for greater security of Poland, then they are also giving testimony that they do not want a strong and secure Poland, but a weak and defenseless one. This needs to be said clearly and unequivocally – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– As early as 2020, prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek was involved and supported Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign […]. It was against her that an application was filed to lift prosecutorial immunity under the accusation of passing information from an investigation to a city hall official, Michał D. The media extensively reported on the SMS messages of prosecutor Wrzosek, who, for Rafał, provided information regarding the memorable city bus accident […]. The case was swept under the rug when prosecutor, minister Bodnar, came into power – Radosław Fogiel said at a press conference in the Sejm.

– Her political engagement on behalf of the party, of which Rafał Trzaskowski is the vice-chairman, did not end there. Many social media posts, photos from the June 4th march […], supporting one of the KO candidates for the European Parliament, very clearly expressing political sympathies – he continued.

– Today, observing what has happened, […] that the actions of the prosecution, such as they are, may have contributed to the death of the late Barbara Skrzypek, questions must be asked to Rafał Trzaskowski, to those running his campaign – stated the PiS MP, directing the following questions to the KO candidate:

Is Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign coordinated with the actions of prosecutor Wrzosek? Are her actions aimed at persecuting and destroying PO's political opponents coordinated with Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign? […] Does Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign or the Warsaw city hall […] also receive information from investigations conducted by prosecutor Wrzosek today? […] Does Rafał Trzaskowski condemn the types of actions that prosecutor Wrzosek engages in?

– I am absolutely in favour of an assessment taking place in many areas, for example, now, almost a year after the change of government. The effectiveness of the functions performed, and this is natural, the Minister of State Assets should, through supervisory boards, assess the effectiveness of management boards and issue specific recommendations – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– I believe this is a strategic investment [East Shield]. It foresees 10 billion [currency unspecified] plus European funds by 2028 and will not end in 2028. It's not just the north-eastern border, but it must also extend much further south, along the entire eastern border of Poland, so this project will be long-term and much more expensive, a much larger investment is needed – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– Witos unites Poland, unites Poles, he is an outstanding figure, he is a father of independence. We want to create an institute in his name to commemorate his achievements, but also to educate, primarily to educate. We demand that this project be considered at the next Sejm session, we will apply for it. If there are any obstacles, we will simply proceed to voting in the plenary hall – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

– If someone today tries to juxtapose our Witos institute with what happened during the 8 years of PiS rule, they are making a radical mistake. Because we are with Witos through thick and thin, for years. Regardless of whether we are in government or in opposition, this is not any kind of instrumental approach, but a patriotic approach for everyone. Witos is for everyone – he continued.

– I wanted to thank those who support us. It is only thanks to them that we can function, and although to a limited extent compared to a situation where the law was respected in Poland, where we had the subsidies and grants due to a political party, we can run a campaign in the presidential elections. I thank you very sincerely, but I am forced to ask for further, more intensive support as well, because this campaign is entering its decisive phase, and it is truly very much needed right now. It is the most needed thing for Poland's future – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– Perhaps not everyone realizes that the culmination is meant to be new European solutions that will practically eliminate our sovereignty, meaning what we fought for 36 years ago will again be just an incident in Polish history, not a lasting situation. And in this centralized state that is being prepared, Polish influence will be practically nil. Simply put, the balance of power is such that Germany will decide, and in this part of Europe, they will probably be the only true decision-makers – he continued.

– The victory of Karol Nawrocki, our candidate, I want to strongly emphasize, a registered candidate. This is precisely why we are holding this conference today; yesterday, the registration and 1.3 million signatures took place. But the social dynamics, the political dynamics at such a moment will change in favor of Poland, in favor of Polish democracy, Polish rule of law, and most importantly, Polish independence — he continued.

– This keeps being repeated; there was no direct conversation between me and the late Ms. Barbara Skrzypek after the interrogation. We spoke briefly by phone, and I was informed that she was in such a condition that she was unable, and I apologize for repeating the word with a double meaning, that there was no possibility of conversation. She had probably woken up by then after a few hours of sleep, but nevertheless, she was still in very poor shape. Unfortunately, she did not want medical help because she believed it would somehow pass – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– The President knew the late Barbara Skrzypek well. I can recall now that in the initial period, when he was still President-Elect, and perhaps for a short while even after his inauguration, he would come to Nowogrodzka, and I would usually find out about it by learning that the President, together with the late Barbara, were smoking cigarettes and talking in the kitchen – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– The fact that Donald Tusk employed a method which, in such very difficult [moments], because this is a very difficult moment, only some, let's say, functionaries of specific media, seem to think that nothing has happened. Or also, functionaries of various organizations, for example, the youth wing of Civic Platform, they generally think that someone else was to blame and, in general, they present suggestions that already have a criminal character – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– For a normal person, this is a very heavy crisis, and for a politician with some understanding, and I don't deny that Donald Tusk is such a politician, he is also aware of this, and that's why he simply fled, that's how it can be described – he continued.

– I spoke the truth [about the condominium]. Unfortunately, this is how it is in Poland; Poland needs a giant operation to purge Poland of agents. Of course, it will never succeed 100%, but even a very high percentage success is possible, and then there will certainly be many personal surprises, as well as surprises concerning entire institutions. I am deeply convinced of this – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– When it comes to the matter where you, the pro-government media, are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, because this case is the best proof of that, it shows that you are actually campaigning for Trzaskowski – stated Rafał Bochenek at a press conference.

– I see nothing wrong with it, and therefore I treat it as a curiosity and approach it with a smile, that Doctor Karol Nawrocki had a sense of humor and acted in such a way – he added.

– Allegations were made against him [Andrzej Duda] that he was supplementing his income at some university, which almost all university employees do because the salaries there are low. Allegations were even made concerning matters that, especially in the newspaper that wrote about it, were in the highest degree surprising and, unfortunately, in their own way comical, so please do not go down that road. Krystyna Skowrońska from Civic Platform presented in the Sejm the report of the committee on the government's draft bill on healthcare benefits financed by public funds, which aims to lower the health contribution for entrepreneurs.

– The progressive nature of paying health contributions has been maintained, while simultaneously reducing them for the majority of entrepreneurs – the rapporteur MP argued, pointing out, among other things, that individuals earning income from business activities exceeding 1.5 times the average salary will still pay a portion of the contribution dependent on their income.

– The National Health Fund, under this solution, will receive lower revenues, estimated in the regulatory impact assessment, by the amount of 4 billion 626 million zlotys [...] the minister replied that this shortfall [...] will be supplemented by budget revenues – Krystyna Skowrońska continued.

– The expectations from entrepreneurs who pay health contributions are even greater, but this is the second step [...]. As the rapporteur MP, I would like to recommend to the high Sejm the adoption of the above draft bill [...] it will serve Polish entrepreneurs well, and they will be at least a little satisfied – she emphasized.

– We are rational, and we know that Poland needs to be built now, today, and for the future, and that there are various expenses in the Polish system. Therefore, we will not be fools here, we will not point fingers saying this is bad, not good; we will adopt this law, but under one condition – said Patryk Wicher in the Sejm during the discussion on the government bill concerning health contributions.

– We will vote yes if the minister not only declares, as he did in the committee, that the shortfall from this law, which we are debating today, meaning 4 billion 600 million to the National Health Fund, will be compensated. What about the previous ones, as far as I recall, 4 billion from the previous one, because we are talking about fixed assets here […] will these funds also be compensated? – he continued.

– What about others, what about the 20 billion deficit in the National Health Fund, which exists, 23 billion now. Will you declare that you will cover all these matters that have arisen from the state budget? And we are giving you a large vote of confidence, Mr. Minister. We will vote in favor, trusting that you will do this, that you will declare it, and if not, we will prepare a law that will convince you to do so – he went on to say.

– The project being processed is the fulfillment of an election promise made by our coalition partners in the government. A promise, unfortunately, deaf to the voices of trade unions, labor law experts, or medical professionals. Members of these groups share the Left’s assessment that this law is, firstly, unfair, and secondly, dangerous – said Joanna Wicha in the Sejm during the discussion about the government’s project regarding the health contribution.

– This is a robbery of public healthcare, which is already lacking funds for patient treatment. It is pushing us towards the full privatization of healthcare. […] Besides keeping promises, prudence is important. There are ideas that are worth, and even need, to be withdrawn. […] An entrepreneur on a lump-sum tax, earning PLN 20,000 per month, will pay a health contribution approximately half as low as an employee earning the national average wage – she continued.

– There is an alternative. Minister Konieczny presented a health tax. The health contribution with its complicated structure […] would be replaced by a 9% tax. It would cover not only all PIT taxpayers but also companies – she went on to say.

– The Left Parliamentary Club is against the project being processed today […] we cannot agree with a proposal that weakens healthcare and the situation of employees – she added.

– There is a practice where something is underfunded first, it doesn't work, people are upset, and then it is privatized [...]. This is the goal, this has always been the goal of reducing funds for the healthcare system. This is the goal so that those companies that treat patients privately earn even more – Marcelina Zawisza said in the Sejm.

– It is simply scandalous that in a situation where we have such low spending on the healthcare system, you are creating a bill that grants privileges to one specific group, in order to, I don't know what, win against Mentzen in the presidential election? – she continued.

– Now, about effectiveness. I appeal to the New Left, because colleagues, you say that this is the sense of your existence in this government. Then show it, block this bill. If you mean anything in this government, if your presence in this government makes any sense, it is precisely to block such bills that are harmful to Polish patients. […] Your task is to block this, if you cannot, then you simply do not have that effectiveness – she continued.

– This government project, which we are discussing today, was the result of very long negotiations […] we managed to work out a compromise that is a step in the right direction – said Jarosław Neneman, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance, in the Sejm, responding to MPs’ questions related to the government’s draft bill on health contributions.

– Nearly 2.5 million entrepreneurs will benefit, 75% of them will pay a simple lump-sum contribution […]. We must also openly admit that there is no return to the situation before the “Polish Deal,” because the “Polish Deal” did many different things, the way contributions are paid has changed, the tax-free allowance has changed […] the tax rate – he continued.

– Last year, NFZ (National Health Fund) expenditures increased by 14%, inflation was below 4%, which means that in real terms, NFZ expenditures increased by 10%, so saying that the money suddenly ran out is at least untrue – he continued.

– There is a law on public healthcare services […] next year it will be 6.8% of GDP, and this money will be available and it is already accounted for in budget projections, so we are certainly not threatened by a situation where, after the introduction of these solutions, these 4 billion […] will suddenly disappear – he added.

– Prime Minister Donald Tusk has brought about a situation where today the Polish state prosecutor's office is an appendage of Prime Minister Donald Tusk's political party. This naturally provokes protest from many decent prosecutors of the Polish state. I myself am an employer of 100 prosecutors in the commission for the prosecution of crimes against the Polish nation; unfortunately, what the Polish government, led by Donald Tusk, has allowed today is a violation of a certain social contract and of a normal Polish state – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– In this context, I agree with Mr. President, and the silence of Donald Tusk and my main political opponent Rafał Trzaskowski on this terrible matter is equally telling – he added.

– There are no concerns that I will reach the second round and defeat Rafał Trzaskowski. We live in slightly different realities. I think the best poll is the fact that yesterday I submitted 1.3 million signatures – said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– The polls showing that Karol Nawrocki will be in the second round are dominant. There is truly no fear here about how it will end. I intend to win these presidential elections, to defeat Rafał Trzaskowski, who in all these polls is almost carried on hands. The reality will be different, please trust me – he continued.

– Today, I am coming to you with a concrete proposal, throwing down the digital gauntlet to Donald Tusk's government for the second time and asking you to recognize the moment we are in as a Polish state. I have a draft law ready, as you can see, it is the Act on the Breakthrough Technology Fund. The Breakthrough Technology Fund and this act will be submitted as my legislative initiative to the Polish Sejm, immediately after the inauguration, still in August 2025 – said Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– This fund is to amount to 5 billion zlotys, but this sum will be returned to the Polish state budget. This is essential, on the one hand, to support Polish startups, but also to attract foreign capital and know-how to Poland – he continued.

– I am very pleased that I am the first, and currently the only, candidate for the office of President of Poland for whom the scope of the future, technological actions, and the issue of AI are of interest. None of the other candidates have their own program, plan, let alone a draft of a specific law concerning new AI technologies and our common future – stated Karol Nawrocki at a press conference.

– I publicly declare as a candidate for the office of president that if I become President of the Republic of Poland, a department of breakthrough technologies will be established within the National Security Bureau, which, with the authority of the President of the Republic of Poland, will analyze the progress of technological work, the progress of work in the field of new technologies within the Polish Army – he continued.

– It is so important that there is someone in the country who thinks in categories different from those of today's party leaders, Tusk or Kaczyński, or others – who will be prime minister in 2027? We'll see about that. We need a president to think in categories that people think in more: 5, 10 years – said Szymon Hołownia in Strzelce Krajeńskie.

– I have declared that I will establish a presidential council for balanced development, where I will invite representatives from small cities, medium-sized cities, and towns, so that every month they can report on what has been achieved, and so that the government can be presented with challenges that are already written down and identified – said Szymon Hołownia in Strzelce Krajeńskie.

– Similarly with small and medium-sized businesses, being killed by the Polish Deal, over-regulation, and the way the Polish state – unfortunately still – behaves towards them today, treating them like private entrepreneurs to be squeezed, rather than partners in building common prosperity – he continued.

As he declared: – I will establish a council for small and medium-sized enterprises, where small and medium-sized entrepreneurs will speak every month about what hurts, what hasn't been done, what is needed. And the president has a lot of tools to force, suggest, and highlight certain things to the government.

– We need to start healing Polish wounds, not picking at them. You see what’s happening again now in this polarized arena regarding the death of Ms. Barbara Skrzypek. Again, some are attacking others, again some are holding grudges against each other for generations: this group did this, that group did that. People, it’s truly time to come to your senses – said Szymon Hołownia in Strzelce Krajeńskie.

– Instead of bleeding ourselves dry internally, we must start healing these wounds. We must clearly call out good and evil, but we must build the future together. And we need to have a president today who will help us do that – he continued.

– Whenever I looked at Polish presidents, I felt like repeating one of my favorite sayings: by expecting little, I was never disappointed. But this is not the time for such thinking. Today, we need a firecracker president, someone who knows how to build things, who wants to work, who can invite all of us to work together. Not to another war, but to work together, so we can navigate this turn wisely and intelligently – said Szymon Hołownia in Strzelce Krajeńskie.

– We are a credible partner, we are an important partner for the United States, because we also play a leading role, a leader's role, an influential role in the European Union. And this is crucial today, to remember that not only the alliance with the United States, although it is fundamental and primary, but also a strong position in the European Union and bringing the United States closer to the European Union – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

– Our influence on what happens in the European Union is very significant […] it is only through this that we are an interesting partner for the Americans, if we are able to show them that we have influence throughout Europe. And this government has influence in Europe, and it is important for the President of the Republic to also be an influential European politician – he continued.

– Today, everyone, whether it's the French, the Germans, or the British [...] or the Spanish, or the Italians, or the Scandinavian countries, they all, at the moment the discussion about European defense begins, start with Poland. They say: we must act like Poland, Poland was right, Poland was right about Russia, Poland was right about supporting sovereign states located between Europe, the European Union, and Russia, Poland was right when it comes to energy independence – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

– Today, anyone who wants to build a sensible European defense policy starts by saying that we must cooperate with Poland. This shows our leading role, this shows our credibility – he continued.

– Since this tragedy occurred [the death of Barbara Skrzypek], Donald Tusk has disappeared without a trace. He even handed over the government proceedings to Kosiniak-Kamysz. Why should he speak? Because this is his way of exercising power, his stories that he would treat PiS like Nazis in Nuremberg, because he said he would organize a Nuremberg for us – stated Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

So, everything the prime minister is doing leads to this situation where, in the political fervor, the investigation that is meant to affect the opposition party leader will be handled by a prosecutor who is extremely politicized – he continued.

– Ms. Wrzosek supported Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign to such an extent that she was accused of revealing investigation secrets, which she published on social media, showing how she was marching at the PO's June 4th march. Someone like that, a prosecutor, who shouldn't have any case that concerns politics, let them deal with criminal matters, if they are good at it, and if they are not, let them deal with stealing potatoes from a cellar – stated Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

The Prime Minister, like a spoiled child, responds [to Andrzej Duda] with a tweet, and what does it say? This is a message for the hard core, a desperate message for the hard core. No, there has been no lawlessness in Poland since 1989 as we are witnessing now – stated Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

Actor Daniel Olbrychski appeared at a meeting with Rafał Trzaskowski in Grodzisk Mazowiecki and took the floor. "It was '15 [...] I was commenting on the first round, where Mr. Duda's lead over Mr. Komorowski was already subtly evident. But I then commented on a statement by candidate Duda, it was a disgusting statement, who accused Mr. Komorowski of lacking patriotism because he apologized for Jedwabne. And I said: a person who expresses such judgments, whether he becomes president or not, is not a person to whom one should offer their hand."

– However, I will react [...] with all due respect, first of all, we should shake hands with everyone, because if we react like this, we will end up badly. [...] Let's not miss President Duda. Look at who my most serious opponents are today – said Rafał Trzaskowski.

– Whatever one may say about President Duda, on matters of foreign policy, on matters of security, he behaved responsibly, and we spoke with one voice – he continued.

– President Duda had some experience. Today, you yourselves judge his counter-candidates – he went on.

– I think I know how to talk to President Trump without hours of nervous pacing, but calmly, factually, and as partners – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

– I know that President Trump values people who act assertively and as partners, and I believe that's exactly how one should proceed – he continued.

– If I thought [PiS] had put their faith in a good candidate, I wouldn't be advocating for Sławomir Mentzen. In the first round, for Marek Jakubiak, but you are perfectly aware, as is Marek Jakubiak, that Marek Jakubiak's chances of reaching the second round are slim – Paweł Kukiz said in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's „Gość Wydarzeń”.

When asked if he believed Sławomir Mentzen would overtake Karol Nawrocki, he stated: – I would like that to happen. I would like Sławomir Mentzen to reach the second round. Yes, definitely.

"Mentzen, among the significant candidates. However, the only candidate who today speaks about these fundamental, necessary systemic changes is Marek Jakubiak, with absolute certainty," said Paweł Kukiz on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń" when asked who is the most anti-system candidate today.

– The highest possible result for Sławomir Mentzen gives greater hope for dismantling the POPiS duopoly that has solidified over 20 years. They have the advantage, I'm talking about Konfederacja, that to a large extent, I took on various forms of hate, 'fascists,' etc. in 2015. I introduced that entire anti-system sentiment into the Sejm, and I had to, forced by the situation, lack of funds, subsidies, and not-so-friendly media […], operate in the reality that I was in – Paweł Kukiz said on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events).

– They have subsidies, a somewhat cleared field, and certain personal situations have become clearer. So, there is a real chance for Konfederacja to achieve what I couldn't in 2015 – he assessed.

– The Civic Coalition government lied, lies, and will lie – even on a matter as fundamental as the Eastern Shield, state security, and army command – wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

– Manfred Weber, Donald Tusk's political patron and head of the EPP, clearly and openly speaks in the German press about a "war economy" and centralized military command in the EU. Meanwhile, in Poland, the man whom “no one in Europe can outsmart” lies, while Europe outsmarts him every time – he added.

– This explains why the Civic Coalition so fiercely concealed Brussels' true intentions regarding the Eastern Shield. Their plan involves compulsory joint arms purchases and a European commander, which leads to the subordination of the Polish army to the EU headquarters. One's own army, the independence of its use, and sealed borders are the foundation of state security – the former prime minister emphasized.

As Morawiecki wrote: – The Civic Coalition government, by supporting plans to cede this to the EU, is making a tragic mistake. We will not allow relations with the USA to be weakened or Poland to be deprived of the right to independently decide on its own security.

– It is difficult not to formulate some hypotheses [regarding the death of Barbara Skrzypek] that may seem extreme to an outsider. […] It is communicated that the interrogation document is placed on 9 pages of typescript. I reviewed this document, but in reality, it's 6 pages, because on page 9 there is one sentence, and the first two pages are an introduction – said Paweł Kukiz in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

– 5 hours at the prosecutor's office. […] I have been interrogated at the prosecutor's office many times, and believe me […], 5 hours, meaning an hour per page. Therefore, the conclusion is, based on my experience, that they simply asked her for an hour on one matter, surrounded by three pages of questions, and they kept asking her, like the old UB simply […]. Asking one question repeatedly for several hours – believe me, one can go crazy from something like that – he insisted.

– It's difficult for me to say [whether the Hermes system was used against me]. One scandal is that special services are purchasing all sorts of unverified systems, firstly, everything points to it being in violation of the law and procedures, and that seems clear today – Rafał Trzaskowski said on TVP Info's "Question of the Day".

– Secondly, that they are using these systems not to track criminals, but to track the opposition, to analyze what the opposition is doing and, mind you, in the case of the Hermes system, to potentially prepare to contest election results. So, this is a scandal – he continued.

– If PiS used any instruments purchased with public funds supposedly to pursue criminals, for the purpose of preparing to contest elections, then this is truly absolutely scandalous, something that should never have happened, and PiS should explain this. It is difficult to imagine the Minister of Justice focusing on how to undermine democratic elections in his own country – he went on to say.

– In the end, there's the question: for the President of the Republic, is knowledge of foreign languages, international contacts, years spent in diplomacy, dealing with security, essentially mastering numerous crisis situations [...] more useful, or is knowledge of the historical underworld needed? – said Rafał Trzaskowski on TVP Info.

– I find it hard to imagine winning in the first round with such a large number of candidates. We will have to fight for the second round. I think that even though I've effectively been in a campaign for 5 months, because we first had a pre-campaign within Civic Coalition (KO), the feeling among our fellow citizens is that this campaign is only just slowly beginning. Consequently, it will only be truly clear what the polls look like in a few weeks. – I have been building relations with Republicans for decades. Even as a young man, when I was on a scholarship in the United States, after working in the Solidarity office, Republicans invited me to the States. At Campus Polska Przyszłości (Poland Future Campus), we invited advisors from both the Republican and Democratic sides. I had excellent relations, and continue to have them, with the former ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, who is in Trump's circle. – While President Andrzej Duda indeed has ties to Trump, I greatly doubt whether PiS as a whole does. What's important is something else. We have an alliance with the United States, not with one administration or the other. We are a strong country, a country that cannot be overlooked. This is because without us, European security cannot be strengthened, Ukraine cannot be helped, Ukraine cannot be rebuilt, and the eastern border of NATO and the EU cannot be secured.
