This Week in Polish Politics: Kosiniak on Security, Morawiecki and Kaczyński Before Investigative Committees, Tusk on Diversion Authors, Senate on Energy Vouchers, Constitutional Tribunal on Anti-COVID Regulations

The coming week in politics will primarily feature the continuation of the election campaign for the upcoming European Parliament elections. Donald Tusk will meet with the President of the European Investment Bank and inform the Polish public about the actions of the Polish state targeting "authors of provocations, sabotage, and diversionary acts".

The investigative committee on envelope elections will continue its hearing of Mateusz Morawiecki and will also question Jarosław Kaczyński. In turn, the Minister of National Defence will present information on the state of the Republic of Poland's security in the Sejm, and the Senate will address the energy voucher.

Tusk Meets with European Investment Bank President. On Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will meet with the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño, at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. A statement to the media is also planned.

Constitutional Tribunal on Anti-COVID Regulations. On Tuesday, the Constitutional Tribunal will announce its ruling on the constitutionality of orders issued by the then-Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki concerning the preparation of postal elections in 2020, based on so-called anti-COVID regulations.

Kosiniak on Poland's Security. At the two-day session starting on Wednesday, the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, will present information on the state of the Republic of Poland's security. The Sejm may also dismiss two members of the committee for combating the sexual exploitation of minors under 15.

Morawiecki Before Investigative Committee. On Wednesday, the investigative committee on envelope elections will continue its hearing of former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. On Thursday, the committee is scheduled to hear from PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, and the Pegasus investigative committee will hear from former delegated prosecutor to the Ministry of Justice, Jakub Tietz.

Senate on Energy Vouchers. At the two-day session of the upper house starting on Wednesday, senators will address, among other things, the energy voucher act. Also on the agenda are amendments to the act on assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict in that country, as well as the "Active Parent" act.

Tusk on Actions Against Authors of "Provocations, Sabotage, and Diversionary Acts”. - "Next week, I will inform the Polish public about the actions of the Polish state, aimed at the authors of provocations, sabotage, and diversionary acts" - Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced in his speech on the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino.

Visit of the President of Cyprus. On Thursday, the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and his spouse will pay an official visit to Poland. In the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, he will meet with President Andrzej Duda and his spouse.

Public Hearing on the Constitutional Tribunal. On Friday, a public hearing will be held at the Committee on Justice and Human Rights regarding the parliamentary bill on the Constitutional Tribunal – submitted by politicians of the parliamentary majority – along with its implementing provisions.
