At 1:00 PM, in front of the Sejm, a press conference will be held by the leaders of the leftist coalition: Robert Biedroń, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and Adrian Zandberg, regarding a joint opposition list for the Senate, where the first Left candidates for the upper house of parliament will be presented.

- We will invite the heads of all chanceries to work on this law [regulating politicians' flights] – the President's, both Speakers', the Chancellery of the Prime Minister is the leading entity, but also ULC, and the Ministry of National Defence. A document developed in such a composition would be incomplete, so we will also invite the heads of all parliamentary clubs, persons delegated by them, so that together, above party lines, we can create good law – said Minister Michał Dworczyk at a press conference. A meeting for parliamentary clubs for joint work has been scheduled for today at 2:00 PM.

- The Polish People's Party (PSL) has behaved a little differently than before, over the last four years. This is due to its new chairman - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, whom we got to know very well during our work in the Sejm and who is a guarantor for us that if any pathologies were to appear, and pathologies appear in all parties at the moment, as we see the biggest in PiS, he will remove them - said Stanisław Tyszka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

• Rumors are circulating that Kuchciński was dismissed because he lied to Chairman Kaczyński. My question is this: Can one lie to 38 million Poles with impunity? This matter has been dragging on, with various explanations being convoluted, such as how the air taxis or air ambulances functioned. This is still not explained, and the prosecution should clarify it. However, the moment it turned out that he lied to Chairman Kaczyński, the Chairman dismissed him. This shows that something is wrong with our system – said Stanisław Tyszka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

„Election preparations are underway at full speed. First, the election date will be announced. The Political Committee has chosen an Electoral Committee, which has been registered and will be officially registered shortly. Following this, the electoral lists will be presented. They are ready, but there is an order we wish to follow” - said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on Jedynka radio.

"We really do not want any revolutions. Manifesting peacefully is a constitutional right of every citizen, even if we disagree with the message. We do not intend to restrict the right to assembly in any way. We are a party that is not ideological. We do not want to propose a cultural war to Poles" - said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on Radio Jedynka.

- We still have two months until the elections, so let's first await that final poll, meaning what happens at the ballot boxes. Of course, such information is optimistic for us, but I always approach polls, especially pre-election ones, skeptically, because the dynamics of political dispute that are taking place are often truly very large, and some events within two to three weeks can change the political landscape. I hope, of course, that this will not happen, because the poll you mentioned currently gives us a majority in parliament, meaning solo rule for the next 4 years. It would be good for Poland, but as I said, let's humbly await the voters' verdict on October 13th - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Paweł Lisiecki on "Trójka's Political Salon".

- Names will appear, but we will announce them next week. A grand presentation of the Left's leaders for the electoral lists on August 18 - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski on Onet Rano.

- Next Sunday, we are undertaking a significant event that will demonstrate how the Left has reached an agreement, but also who will be part of the Left personally. That is, who will be on these lists and from where they will run. And this is the first step to opening the campaign, and on August 24, a major convention that will present our plan for Poland - he added.

- I won't reveal everything to you, Mr. Editor, but I will pique the viewers' curiosity. I think that during this election campaign, all three parties will announce certain future moves that will provide a basis for Poles to see how far we are in integration, how far we have managed to negotiate this agreement - Gawkowski said.

- I think Civic Platform has a problem with the left because the left is bidding on ideological extremes, and Platform is entering that field somewhat, but at the same time, it's afraid to go too far, because it probably remembers the situation from the European Parliament elections and knows that if this threshold of left-leaning becomes too high, and in my opinion it already has, they risk simply losing the center, which then chooses PiS. So this war between the left and Platform will continue, and it is, of course, detrimental from the perspective of the country's overall political stability – stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Paweł Lisiecki on "Trójka Political Salon".

The registration application for the Lewica electoral coalition was submitted first, according to Magdalena Biejat, a member of the Razem party and an advocate for the coalition. She stated this on Twitter, attaching a link to a tweet from Magdalena Zawisza, the spokesperson for the Left Together party.

Zawisza's tweet, dated August 10, 2019, reads: "According to information from the National Electoral Commission, our registration application for the KW Lewica was filed as the first one. We are waiting for the decision on its approval."

This statement suggests that the process of forming and registering the Lewica coalition was a competitive one, with multiple parties vying for the opportunity to be the first to officially register their electoral committee. The prompt submission and confirmation of being first indicates a strategic advantage or a high level of preparedness on the part of Lewica.

„We have already proposed solutions that will be presented to the public and enacted by parliament in a law in the near future. We will adopt a principle whereby every flight, immediately after it occurs, will be recorded in a special flight register accessible to all. This will prevent such discussions in the future. We are ready to disclose all information held by the Prime Minister's Chancellery” - said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin at a press conference.

- This is unimaginable, that a third person dies in such a significant scandal and the Prosecutor General remains completely silent on the matter. There is no information. No one is taking responsibility for this. One would think that a person incarcerated is safe. Yet, it turns out that Polish prisons are becoming extremely dangerous. - The Left is ready to field Senate lists across the country, in all 100 districts. But we are also responsible and understand how the electoral system for the Senate works. That is why two weeks ago we proposed to all opposition forces the adoption of a Senate pact. This is a guarantee that PiS will not have a majority in the Senate. It is a guarantee of the democratic diversity of the upper house of parliament. This can only succeed if all opposition forces are ready to seriously discuss this solution. We have spent the last two weeks working diligently, discussing the matter with various circles. We have a positive response and support from local government officials. We have also spoken and have very positive signals from the PSL, but we do not hide the fact that we are still waiting for Grzegorz Schetyna to decide to give a clear answer. Our proposal is very simple and clear. In those districts where the Left fields its candidates for the Senate, we expect other opposition forces to withdraw their candidates. And vice versa. Where representatives of other opposition circles field their candidates, the Left is ready not to field its candidates in that particular district. If we manage to agree on a map of the entire country based on this principle, we will ensure a democratic, pluralistic Senate - said Adrian Zandberg at a briefing in front of the Sejm.

„The Marshal Kuchciński affair showed that regulations are being broken. This affair has not been fully explained. We do not know the complete list of the Marshal's flights over the last 4 years and the individuals who accompanied him on these flights. This has still not been clarified, despite the fact that a new Speaker of the Sejm has been in office since Friday. We do not have complete information about the flights of the Marshal of the Senate. We do not have a complete list of flights by Prime Minister Morawiecki himself and Prime Minister Szydło. The information that has been disclosed is merely piecemeal, fragmentary information that does not contain the most important data. Until this affair is clarified, it is difficult to talk about introducing any legal solutions, unless it concerns the legalization of the practice that has been ongoing for the last 4 years” - he said at a press conference. 



„Aviation instructions and regulations are written in the blood of pilots, victims of crashes. Every incident in which people die must be the basis for improving regulations. This is what happened after the Smolensk catastrophe. We are not participating in this meeting today concerning the analysis or deliberation on regulations, because we believe it is an attempt to escape from what has happened, from the violations of existing regulations and instructions. I see there a preview of politicians writing instructions and regulations to allow the use of government transport, purchased with funds designated for national defense, by politicians' families” - Czesław Mroczek added.

He specified that all relevant government offices and parliamentary clubs, with the exception of Civic Platform (PO), are participating in these talks.

- Today, unfortunately, representatives of the Civic Platform did not show up for this conference, this meeting. We receive this information with sadness, as we hoped that such important issues as the arrivals of the most important people in the state could be regulated through bipartisan dialogue. Fortunately, representatives of other parliamentary clubs did appear, which we are pleased about. However, this critical observation must be directed at the Civic Platform MPs, who this morning, it seemed, announced they would be at this meeting. Half an hour ago, as you know, they announced that they would not appear at the meeting because they do not want to engage in dialogue. This is sad news, I think also for all PO voters, because it shows that they are unable to meet in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and discuss these most important issues in dialogue on such important matters - stated government spokesperson Piotr Müller in a conversation with journalists in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- We would like to present this draft [act on the organization of flights for the most important state officials] this week, most likely on Friday. After these intensive consultations, we want to present a draft that we will then present to a wider audience as part of public consultations. - We want a central register to be established where everything will be clear, where a few days after the travel of these most important state officials, there will be clear information about the purpose, who traveled with what delegation, when, and at what times the journey took place, so that it is all clear. It wasn't like that until now - he added.

- I have a deep conviction that the case of Marshal Kuchciński has been clarified. What's more, Marshal Kuchciński, out of concern that this situation would not further inflame social emotions, also decided to submit his resignation. I would expect similar decisions in cases of other doubts concerning other individuals, for instance regarding Sławomir Neumann, who will now have to explain, as it turns out, peculiar situations in his parliamentary office. I am curious whether Platforma will approach such situations with the same consistency – stated government spokesperson Piotr Müller in a conversation with journalists before the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

- By the end of August, we would like [the draft act on the organization of flights for key state officials] to be considered by the Sejm. The next Sejm session is at the end of the month. This document will leave the Council of Ministers, I think, within a week or two. The draft will most likely be presented on Friday. The Council of Ministers is meeting next week. Maybe next week, maybe two weeks later, but we want this document adopted at the August Sejm session - stated government spokesperson Piotr Müller in a conversation with journalists in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- There's something that, through the narrative of some media over four years, has become ingrained as a boogeyman in the minds of some left-wing voters. That's why we decided on a 5% threshold to provide a psychological comfort cushion for those who want to vote left – Anna Maria Żukowska said in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

- Robert Biedroń had to change his decision under the circumstances that at this moment he no longer decides independently, for himself, because he is in a joint left-wing bloc, together with Lewica Razem and SLD. By a joint decision of these alliances, Robert Biedroń will remain in the European Parliament and has been appointed head of Lewica's campaign staff – said Anna Maria Żukowska in an interview with Roch Kowalski on TOK FM's "Political Interview".

- These were difficult talks. I am not authorized to reveal their course, as these are our internal matters. However, the truth is that Robert Biedroń, like each of us, each of the alliances, had to relinquish a part of his autonomy – Żukowska added.

The State Electoral Commission has registered, among others, the coalition Electoral Committee of Civic Coalition, as well as the Electoral Committee of PiS. The leftist alliance, as well as the Non-Party Local Government Officials, have been called to rectify flaws. The deadline for registering committees is August 24th, but as it falls on a Saturday, the deadline will likely be extended to Monday.

According to the State Electoral Commission's resolution, the flaw in the leftist alliance's notification lies in providing an abbreviation for the electoral committee's name that is inconsistent with Article 92 § 1 of the Electoral Code. Although the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) filed a request with the court to change the committee's abbreviation – to run in the elections as KW Lewica (Electoral Committee Leftist Alliance) instead of KW SLD (Electoral Committee Democratic Left Alliance) – the court has not yet made the change, and it is unknown whether it will be completed by August 24th/26th. However, the leftist alliance cannot wait until then, as they would have very little time to collect signatures in that scenario.





- The State Electoral Commission notes that changes to a party's name or abbreviation, even if made by the party, but not reflected in the register of political parties, do not affect the assessment of the compliance of the committee's name or abbreviation with Article 92 of the Electoral Code, because the requirement for the name and abbreviation of the electoral committee to comply with the name and abbreviation of the party that formed it, as entered in the register of political parties, is stated in Article 92 § 1 of the Electoral Code in a categorical manner. The categorical wording of Article 92 § 1 of the Electoral Code does not allow electoral bodies to consider any deviations from the requirement for the name and abbreviation of the electoral committee to comply with the provisions of this article. Therefore, the State Electoral Commission cannot take into account the filing by a political party with the District Court in Warsaw of a request to amend the entry in the register of political parties regarding the party's abbreviation, because the Court has not made such a change - wrote the State Electoral Commission.

- The meeting was supposed to concern new regulations. Today, I think we need to say it clearly. Sticking to the old ones is enough - said Cezary Tomczyk in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- Karczewski occupies this villa in accordance with the law, that's the first point. Until now, his predecessor, Marshal Borusewicz, actually occupied the Marshal's apartment in the MPs' hotel. In the situation where Marshal Karczewski is renting an apartment, he has left this apartment at the disposal of Marshal Borusewicz. The second point is that we won't find this type of apartment on the open market in Warsaw, so it seems to me we should be pleased with the care for public money – Radosław Fogiel said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Wydarzenia i Opinie” (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

- I understand that attorney Giertych has senatorial ambitions. I don't know if he's running with PO or PSL, there have been various combinations. Therefore, he is seeking publicity - said Radosław Fogiel in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program „Wydarzenia i Opinie” (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

- You're talking about the death of a man - stated Cezary Tomczyk, who was present in the studio.

- Every human death is a tragedy. That is true. That is why it is all the more disgusting for attorney Giertych to politically campaign on this death - replied Fogiel.

- For now, we are dealing with the lists for the Sejm. We essentially have them completed. On Wednesday, we have a national board meeting and will approve these lists. This time has come and it probably began this weekend when Grzegorz Schetyna started talks, perhaps first with the PSL, and now with the left - stated Izabela Leszczyna in an interview with Diana Rudnik on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

"Yes, it is clearly some political order that is being carried out. I have very strong support. My family supports me, my friends support me. This is very strengthening" - said Marshal Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Danuta Holecka on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

„This entire complex is state property. It belongs to the state. It should be utilized. If I weren't renting it, the apartment would stand empty. I am renting it, and this is information for those who accused me, half of the villa. Not me, but the Senate Chancellery. It is profitable for the budget, because money is transferred from one pocket to another. It stays within the budget and the State Treasury. Renting this apartment is much cheaper than if we were to rent an apartment [outside the complex] or make any other moves” – said Marshal Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with Danuta Holecka on „Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

- No, he will not be a so-called minister [Mariusz Kamiński]. He will be the only real person with real power, and returning to the analogy with Minister Sienkiewicz, if Sienkiewicz embodied, I would say, a painfully extreme apoliticality, which members of his own political camp also criticized him for, but he embodied a painfully extreme apoliticality in the sphere of the interior ministry services, so to speak, then Mariusz Kamiński embodies the exact opposite. - The essence of the matter is that we have here a person who embodies, and the verdict, annulled under strange circumstances by President Duda, is proof of this, because it is a verdict in the name of the Republic of Poland and a verdict that quite clearly indicated the reasons for which Minister Kamiński was convicted - he added.
