At 4:00 PM, the three-day programmatic congress of the Law and Justice party will begin at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. It will be opened today by Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński. The main speeches by the leaders of United Right are planned for Saturday and Sunday.

- It turns out that there are more and more willing participants to join us, within the framework of the Polish Coalition, but of course under the aegis of PSL, because that is what the Electoral Code stipulates: only a political party, a coalition of political parties, or voters can register a committee. There is no other possibility - stated Eugeniusz Kłopotek in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- The situation is slowly crystallizing. In fact, only two options remain on the table. An independent start within the Polish Coalition, under the aegis of PSL, or a coalition exclusively with Civic Platform, without left-wing groups. Only these two alternatives. I would prefer the first [option] to have a greater chance. From the very beginning, even before the European Parliament elections, I was in favor of an independent start - emphasized the PSL politician.

- In the last election campaign, we often had to account for sins that were not our own. I'm thinking about LGBT, about Jażdżewski. Well, I beg your pardon, that's not our scene. And it was a mistake that we ran within the European Coalition with radical left-wing groups as well. Now, when we also hear that Robert Biedroń, meaning Wiosna, is opening up to dialogue with Platforma, it's really not our business to try and put this all together - stated Eugeniusz Kłopotek in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- As of today, I cannot imagine a coalition with PiS, although after 20 years of operating in politics my imagination has broadened considerably, but my trust has narrowed - stated Eugeniusz Kłopotek in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- If there is money allocated for the development of this area. For the construction of a museum, which we have been talking about for many months, for many years actually. Then the only resistance comes from local government officials and politicians from Civic Platform, which is completely incomprehensible. We should move forward here. Yes, we understand, this is in the interest of Poles. It's not in the interest of Gdańsk residents, those who live in Gdańsk, but in the interest of all of us, because it is a sacred place for all of us Poles - said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Siódma9's "Poranek".

- Relations with the new President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will certainly not be heaven, but we definitely had a choice between that and a policy comparable to political hell in the case of Timmermans – said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Siódma9's "Poranek" (Morning Show).

- The blocking of Professor Krasnodębski's candidacy is a manifestation, on the one hand, of breaking the rules that function and are binding in the European Parliament, because, according to the principle of parity, the professor should have been elected to this position [Vice-President of the EP]. On the other hand, it is an example of such pettiness or an attempt at revenge because, for the first time in a very, very long time, perhaps ever, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, was able to create an alliance of countries that effectively stood against the countries that previously held all the cards in the EU – stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka Political Salon".

- All the programs that we want to propose to Poles during the election campaign and later, for the next term, we will present during these holidays, not during the convention. As you noticed, it's a brainstorming session. There will be important, directional, and programmatic speeches by President Jarosław Kaczyński. Prime Minister Morawiecki will also speak, but we will present the program in the coming weeks - stated Michał Dworczyk in a conversation with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".

„PiS is on its knees in the European Union today. This is schadenfreude, because Poland will lose out, not only Law and Justice, but all of us, because this strong, large delegation of PiS will simply not secure any Polish interests within EU structures” – said the leader of Wiosna, Member of the European Parliament, Robert Biedroń, in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Poranek Radia TOK FM.

“I am moving towards an agreement that will not only have a chance to remove PiS from power, but also ensure that something that makes PiS's life easier today changes, namely that there are no progressive forces in the Polish parliament. I will do everything to change that this autumn, to have a strong, progressive, left-wing team in parliament. My task is to bring as many deputies and senators as possible to the Polish parliament from Wiosna, and I will do it” – said Wiosna leader and MEP Robert Biedroń in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM's Poranek program.

“I am surprised that Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz fears Wiosna, SLD, or the Greens. He was in a coalition with SLD, which included Joanna Senyszyn and Izabela Jaruga-Nowacka, who fought for gender equality, for LGBT rights, for the right to abortion, and then it wasn't a problem. I appeal to the PSL leader to end this tantrum as soon as possible and sit down at the table so that we can talk to each other, especially since he is a reasonable guy” – said the leader of Wiosna, MEP Robert Biedroń, in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

- I want to say very clearly. Our first choice is the Polish People's Party (PSL). But I also want to say very clearly that the coalition exists and will continue to exist, and we are ready to engage intensively in the election campaign with it, counting on the Polish People's Party to join and cooperate with us - said Grzegorz Schetyna during a press conference.

- It depends on the PSL whether they will go together in an agreement, in cooperation with Civic Coalition, or go alone. Going it alone in these elections, a fractured, divided opposition going it alone, is a recipe for PiS victory. That is why we appeal for cooperation to all people of good will, to all circles, to the democratic opposition - said Grzegorz Schetyna during a press conference.

"[The dispute surrounding Westerplatte] is decidedly political. It is a question of how to interpret the history of Gdańsk in general. The opposition and the authorities of the city of Gdańsk have for quite a few years believed that one can draw on the traditions of the Free City of Danzig from the 1930s, that is, the Danzig that succumbed to Nazification, and showcase a certain distinctiveness of this city, this geographical space. Curiously, they do not reach for the traditions of Gdańsk from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Indeed, it was a city settled by Germans, but loyal to the Republic" - said Prof. Waldemar Paruch on "Kwadrans polityczny" on TVP1.

„This will be a demonstration to the Polish public, broadly understood – not just PiS voters, but also the undecided who make their decisions on election day – that knowledge is on the side of the ruling camp, and that there is intellectual, expert, and analytical backing, but also seasoned politicians who will draw conclusions from these diagnoses and launch further detailed policies, and who will implement further goals chosen by the party leadership before the elections” – said Prof. Waldemar Paruch in the program „Kwadrans polityczny” on TVP1.

„Yesterday, we witnessed another stage of the legislative process aimed at transferring this site [Westerplatte] to the Polish state. There would likely be nothing wrong with this if we had all collectively, at one table, decided how the memory of this place should be preserved. Behind us is the inscription 'Never again war.' I don't know if it will remain here, just as we don't know if the monument will remain, but we do know one thing: through forceful methods, which is what the special act should be considered, the state, which claims to be the Polish state but is in fact a state of a single political force, wants to exploit historical memory for a very specific political interest. This hurts. It is very sad” - said Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the Mayor of Gdańsk, at a press conference at Westerplatte.  

“One of the weeklies that published a false report about the residents of Gdańsk, which deviates from the truth numerous times, which questions our attachment to Polishness, and which has benefited the most from state treasury companies, to the tune of several dozen million zlotys in the last 5 years. Today, the city of Gdańsk is initiating legal action. In the first stage, we will demand a correction of obvious falsehoods,” said Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the Mayor of Gdańsk, at a press conference at Westerplatte. 

„I can publicly ask what is the purpose of dividing Poles, provoking discord, and speaking about Gdańsk this way? I hope those who take responsibility for their decisions – today, the parliamentary majority, but also the Minister of Culture – will take responsibility for how they are dividing Polish society and how they are destroying the Polish community” – said the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, at a press conference at Westerplatte.

- In the past, Poland also encountered voices of skepticism emanating from Western Europe. Today, it is the fastest-growing economy in the European Union. A full member of the community, participating in the creation of the common budget, and one of the few countries that can boast over 70% support for EU membership - said President Andrzej Duda during the Western Balkans Summit in Poznań.

- Without the full integration of the Balkans, along with their beautiful traditions and diverse cultures, Europe will not be able to breathe fully. I say these words consciously, as the president of a country that benefits from the European Union's development funds and will in the future be obligated to share these resources with new states - the president added.

- We already have concepts regarding how this signature collection will look to register our electoral lists. We are also starting to arrange our electoral lists. Of course, we are ready for modifications, but Spring wants to be prepared for any of the three scenarios. This means for a solo run, in a potential left-wing coalition, and for a run in an even wider bloc. However, we cannot wait for the talks to conclude. We want to be ready, which is why today Spring is presenting our election staff - stated Robert Biedroń at a briefing before the Sejm.

- In the near future, you will also get to know the voivodeship committees in every voivodeship. - One major event lies ahead of us. After the election announcement, Robert Biedroń's Wiosna will want to hold a campaign launch convention, presenting the leaders of our lists, as well as the programmatic assumptions that both Wiosna and potentially other parties will present in these elections - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski at a briefing in front of the Sejm.

- We haven't made that decision yet. Please don't ask us about personal decisions, about lists, etc., because it's too early. I'm afraid we'll start arguing about the lists immediately, that it will quickly come to pushing each other over who runs from which constituency. This is not the right moment. Today, we need to agree on joint cooperation. If that happens, we will make further decisions - stated Robert Biedroń at a briefing in front of the Sejm, when asked about running in the autumn parliamentary elections.

"This motion is an expression of our commitment to always stand up for freedom, which is under threat. We are facing an ideological war where individuals guided by their faith and conscience are attacked and fired from their jobs. This is the case with IKEA, and it is the case with the printer from Łódź," Deputy Minister Marcin Romanowski said at a press conference.

"Our stance is similar to that expressed by the U.S. Supreme Court in a similar case. The Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General, consistently defends freedom, as evidenced by the prosecution's involvement on the side of the dismissed IKEA employee," added ministry spokesperson Jan Kanthak. 

- Today we are heading to the Mazowieckie and Podlaskie voivodeships. We are starting our tour, the "Let's Talk" campaign, the "Your Headquarters" campaign, the "Coalition Team" campaign. We are here to meet with the residents of Mazovia and Podlasie - stated Krzysztof Brejza at a briefing.

- Lots of meetings, planned activities, in order to talk, to be close as we have been for the last 3 years - he emphasized. - Platforma's buses, not officials from voivodeship offices, not from ministries, but politicians. While some politicians will stay in their offices, sending officials, we are going out to the people and talking - he added.

- A summary of our work, what has been done, how our commitments are being implemented, and also outlining the basic directions and new program ideas for the future. Tomorrow, our leaders will give strictly political speeches. Today, as the chairman of the PiS Program Council, I am opening the convention with an introductory speech. Today, there will be four plenary sessions, tomorrow nine, and we will finish on Sunday with three plenary sessions. In total, apart from the plenary sessions, there will be 70 specialized panels, 450 participants, speakers, politicians, and experts – stated Piotr Gliński at a briefing in Katowice.

- Immediately after the convention, we will begin detailing and selecting those ideas and directions that will be included in the program for the autumn campaign. I think it's a natural process – he added.

- No, no. Now, during the convention, we will not announce a slogan. That will be for the election convention. However, today we are preparing material for the election program. Today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow - stated Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with Roch Kowalski from TOK FM, when asked if a slogan comparable to 500+ would be developed during the PiS congress in Silesia.

When asked about expectations from politicians and experts, the head of the PiS parliamentary club replied: - Well, we expect interesting ideas, solutions. We will choose from them what is valuable and possible.

"Exactly 4 years ago, in this same place, we met for the PiS program convention, where we presented the programmatic potential of our movement, showcased our innovative program ideas, and our political determination to implement them. We demonstrated then that we are substantive, mature, and fully ready to take responsibility for Poland," said Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński, opening the PiS program convention in Katowice.

"The 2019 program convention's primary goal is to summarize and report on our programmatic commitments. This is an expression of normality and integrity in politics. A politician's fundamental duty is to be with the people," he added.

"Over the course of our three-day deliberations, we will present many ideas and plans. Some of them will likely be tested in debates with experts. We are not afraid of any criticism or open debate. We are not afraid of programmatic challenges," explained Gliński. "I invite you on a three-day journey through a fascinating world of ideas for Poland and for Poles. I invite all Poles on a journey through a world where there is no hate, no informants, no negative emotions, where there is no 'No' Poland. There is only 'Yes' Poland."

- I think we will present this program still in August, so that in the most intense campaign period after the holidays in September, we can go forward not only with lists, not only with proposals of personal candidates, faces within the lists, but above all with a program - said Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the "Events and Opinions" program on Polsat News.

- Personally, for me, this decision is a kind of revenge for the fact that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki managed to do something that is very dangerous from the perspective of the big countries of the old European Union. Namely, to rebuild the mutual trust of the Visegrád Group countries - said Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- Despite a very intense political dispute, despite my highly critical assessment of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz's previous activities, when the vote came and Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz's candidacy appeared, I crossed out her name without the slightest hesitation. I congratulate her on this choice - said Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

- Over the past few days, I accompanied Minister Witold Waszczykowski. I know this is not a pleasant topic for him, and he even gets irritated when it's spoken about, but he has immense mobility issues. He simply has a leg injury. - We are saying very clearly. Our partner, an important partner, the first-choice partner, as Chairman Grzegorz Schetyna said today, is the PSL. We have good experiences because we govern in the provincial assemblies. However, coalition talks cannot be conducted on the basis of excluding anyone - said Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Wydarzenia i Opinie' on Polsat News.

- I think it's 50/50. Koalicja Polska, the Polish People's Party as a centrist project, which stems from research, not from some hunches. We believe that one-third of voters vote for PiS, another third for PO, and there is still a third segment of voters who do not want the Polish-Polish war - said Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.
