The Sejm will conclude its session today. MPs will still hear the report from the Ministry of Interior and Administration on the implementation of the act on the acquisition of real estate by foreigners and make any necessary statements.

Today will also feature a retreat session of the Law and Justice club. "Decisions will also be made regarding the election staff, work schedule, and the programmatic convention at the beginning of July. We are getting to work very energetically, firmly, and diligently ahead of the elections," Vice-Marshal Ryszard Terlecki announced yesterday in the Sejm.

The President continues his visit to the United States. Andrzej Duda is still in Houston, where at 3:30 PM he will meet with heads of American energy companies, and at 6:30 PM he will visit Sabine Pass and talk with the American Secretary of Energy (press conference at 7:20 PM). – It also doesn't have to be that the personnel arrangement is the most important. In our opinion, the programmatic arrangement is the most important. - It is true, such a [Falenta's] letter did arrive at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. It is a letter similar to those recently sent to various politicians and officials, which the media have been writing about lately. It contains various insinuations. These are very similar letters that should be treated as the actions of a desperate person - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on the Polsat News program "Graffiti".

“Today, we need to control our emotions – both good and bad – and take a look at what we have. And we have a difficult situation in the opposition. We need to consider what's next. That's why Wiosna has come forward with an initiative for talks on the progressive, left-wing side. We are trying to find what unites us. We'll see what the outcome will be. We're giving ourselves until the end of June to count our numbers, gather, and talk. I hope the result will be a joint, progressive, left-wing list for the Polish parliament,” said Wiosna leader Robert Biedroń in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on TOK FM Radio's Morning Show.

“I said that if I become a Member of Parliament, I will resign my [MEP] mandate. I also have a certain problem. It seems to me that today we are focusing on things that do not excite people. This might excite journalists,” said the leader of Wiosna, Robert Biedroń, in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM’s morning program. When asked why he is not relinquishing his MEP mandate today, Biedroń replied: “Because today I want to have a reason to go on the media, and this mandate allows me to do so, to be in Brussels and talk about important things, for example, that Poland is facing a serious problem of water shortage today.” 

- We also invite, among others, ZNP, but also other trade unions to participate in the round table, as another session will take place early next week. I am not a member of ZNP, nor a board member. Please understand that a meeting does not always have to take place in the format proposed by Mr. Broniarz. - If any Polish politician calls the modernization of the Polish army a 'game,' and refers to modern military equipment as 'toys,' then that is the 'best' calling card, and I put quotation marks around that word, for such a politician. - It's good that you brought that up [regarding the 'circus' remark]. It's a good opportunity to clarify. I was on one of the competing radio stations, and the journalist used that word several times. I understood that term not to refer to the entire strike, but to those incidents and the unserious, satirical behavior of some teachers. I respect everyone's right to strike, including teachers' right to strike. If teachers felt ill-treated in that way, then of course I apologize for that word. It was used mechanically; I simply repeated it after the journalist. Teachers, like other professional groups, have the right to strike, Polish law guarantees them this, and we respect this law. However, some of the behavior of the striking teachers was simply unserious - stated Dariusz Piontkowski in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

"It would be settled in PiS if we tried to think that way, because anyone who thinks seriously about politics knows you can't approach it like that. We have to be prepared for the fact that we have nearly 4 months of hard work ahead of us, and I guarantee that campaign concepts are already being developed and started the day after the European Parliament elections. We are not wasting time, because if we started developing them now, we would have lost two weeks. We cannot afford to lose time at this moment," stated Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on the morning program Siódma9, when asked if there is a conviction in PiS that it is already "all settled" regarding the autumn elections. "There were also meetings in the field. Personally, as a Member of Parliament from Koszalin, the regional leader, we had a meeting with district plenipotentiaries. We analyzed the election results, we are still analyzing them, and someone asked me yesterday if I was analyzing the results from municipality to municipality. We are analyzing the results by polling station committees to see where we lost. In a few municipalities, these results were a bit worse than in 2015. In the vast majority, much better, but this means we still have ground where we should fight for every vote, and we will fight for that vote until the very end, until the elections. God forbid such a conviction that it is settled, for pride goes before a fall," added the Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration.

We have many new MPs who entered parliament a few days ago, replacing those who went to the European Parliament. This is also the first Sejm session after the elections. The time for celebration ended long ago. It's time to move on to a plan for the next 4 months, and this plan will be presented today [at the PiS club's retreat]. - Despite very good economic development, I do not see financial reserves for further broad social programs. "Jarosław Kaczyński has decided to try and shut down our bill concerning Srebrna, to bury it, to block all questions about the company he actually manages. We will not agree to this. We will ask about this empire, about this oligarchy which has enriched itself with public assets through a foundation, the Srebrna company. We will ask about this development business, Jarosław Kaczyński's deal of a lifetime, about the details of negotiations with the Austrian investor. We will not be intimidated, Mr. President. "State institutions are not functioning regarding the Srebrna company. The prosecutor's office is not functioning. The prosecutor's office is playing for time, it does not want to interrogate Jarosław Kaczyński. Special services are not functioning. We submitted requests for a review of MP Kaczyński's asset declarations. It also turned out that the services saw no purpose in it. Paradoxically, it turns out that this lawsuit, which President Kaczyński filed against us, intended to silence us, will be the best opportunity for the public to learn the truth about Jarosław Kaczyński, to learn everything Kaczyński has to say about the business he conducted," Marcin Kierwiński from Civic Platform argued.

"The entire PiS state, following the Srebrna company scandal, was used to attack independent journalists and MPs who are investigating this matter. All state institutions were used to threaten MPs and the media, to use the law to undermine the independence of the opposition and Polish journalism. All to provide a protective umbrella over the new elite of the Republic of Poland, over people who feel like an irresponsible caste. We cannot allow the rule of law to degenerate into the rule of Law and Justice," added Cezary Tomczyk from Civic Platform.

"Not long ago, Zbigniew Ziobro assured that this was a breakthrough law [amendment to the Penal Code], that it was something exceptional, that several years were spent working on these changes, and yesterday it turned out that the opposition was right, that this is the biggest legal gaffe, concerning the Penal Code, in the history of Poland. The 42 Senate amendments to this supposedly perfect law show that Zbigniew Ziobro actually sent one big gaffe to the Sejm. The most important aspect of these changes is that they introduce completely absurd solutions. The most characteristic problem that will appear after these provisions come into effect is that stealing three chocolate bars worth 2 zlotys will be punishable by a much greater and disproportionate penalty than, for example, in the case of causing an accident where three children die. Pickpocketing 10 zlotys will be punishable by up to 16 years of imprisonment. Ziobro has proven that he reaches for the worst PRL-era patterns. It was precisely the Stalinist Penal Code of 1969 that contained the concept of audacious theft, which was eliminated as a crime that cannot be interpreted well" - said Borys Budka from Civic Platform at a press conference in the Sejm.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is continuing his series of reviews of government ministries in the wake of the recent government reconstruction. Today, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with Minister Elżbieta Witek, Minister Andrzej Adamczyk, and Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz.

These meetings are part of an ongoing process where the Prime Minister assesses the work and plans of each ministry following the recent cabinet reshuffle. This initiative aims to ensure the government's continued effective functioning and strategic alignment.
