Karczewski:

Senate Session Tomorrow Dedicated to the Anniversary of June 4th. Speeches by the President, Prime Minister, and Speakers
Tomorrow at 11:30 AM, a solemn, 80th Senate session will be held dedicated to this important anniversary for Poles [the June 4th elections]. President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Morawiecki will deliver speeches. The Marshal of the Sejm, and I myself, will also say a few words. We will celebrate this anniversary - said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały Dnia" on Polish Radio One.

07:39

Karczewski:

At this moment, dredging up problems, fighting the Church, ideology, or fighting PiS to unite the opposition is irrational and directed against Poles
Poles are rejoicing, they are proud, happy that they have freedom, that they have economic growth, that Poland is developing so beautifully and dynamically. At this moment, dredging up problems, fighting the Church, ideology, or fighting the Law and Justice party (PiS) to unite the opposition is irrational and directed against Poles – said Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on the radio program "Sygnały Dnia" on Jedynka.

07:58

Hetman:

It Would Be a Mistake to Stick to a Project That Ultimately Didn't Work
The Polish People's Party (PSL) wants to draw conclusions from the recent European Parliament elections. No, we are not offended. After all, we clearly and explicitly stated, and everyone is communicating this, that the European Coalition did not achieve success, and it would be a great mistake if we all stuck to a project that – let's be honest – ultimately didn't work. No, it wasn't a mistake [to join the EC]. On the contrary, it was a very good decision for the PSL to enter the coalition, because we defended the PSL's position regarding the EP, we retained our voters from 2015, and even increased our holdings with new voters, so the PSL's success was evident. The entire coalition did not achieve success, and reflection was needed on what to do next with this project, or perhaps to start a new one, because if we couldn't cross shallow water together, it's hard to expect that holding hands we would go into deep water and drown in the autumn - stated Krzysztof Hetman in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview".

08:02

Hetman:

We Honestly Said the European Coalition Was Created for the European Parliament Elections
There is no such thing as leaving. We are being accused of leaving the coalition. After all, the European Coalition, we spoke about this honestly, all partners communicated this over the last two months, was created for the European Parliament elections. Nobody promised that this coalition would run in the same composition, in the same formula in the elections for the Polish Sejm and Senate – stated Krzysztof Hetman in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:07

Hetman:

WKK proposed the Polish Coalition on February 4th in Wrocław. That's when the proposal was first made

- [Waldemar Pawlak] supported the idea and concept of Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, concerning the PSL and the Polish Coalition, which Kosiniak-Kamysz – let's recall – proposed on February 4th this year in Wrocław. That's when the proposal to create such a coalition was first made. So, Pawlak, by saying that it's a concept he can support and considers it a very good path for the PSL and beyond, clearly shows that he supports Kosiniak-Kamysz – stated Krzysztof Hetman in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:11

Mucha on Reconstruction: The President Accepts the Presented Changes. This is Happening Today in a Very Good Atmosphere

- You will also be able to listen to the President's speech, and the President will speak on this matter during the ceremony - said Paweł Mucha in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- It's tomorrow, isn't it? - the journalist inquired.

- I don't want to officially comment on these timing speculations. When information or an announcement appears, we will be able to speak officially about the specific hours of the ceremony and the detailed date. However, of course, the President accepts the changes presented by the Prime Minister, and that was the conversation that preceded these changes. As I said, this is happening today in a very good atmosphere - Mucha added.

08:13

Hetman:

We're not closing any doors, though we honestly say the Polish Coalition path is closest and most pragmatic for us

- We're not closing any doors, though we honestly say and show, and have been communicating since Saturday, that the path of the Polish Coalition is the closest and most pragmatic for us. For one reason, if nothing else. For a pragmatic reason, when it comes to the electoral system. Because if two large blocs go into the autumn of this year, it might happen that everything in between gets ground up, and if PiS wins these elections, they will gain a constitutional majority, which is what we fear most, because we believe they will change the system of our country - stated Krzysztof Hetman in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:14

Hetman:

SLD is not a problem for us. The problem was the leftward turn

- No, absolutely. SLD is absolutely not a problem for us. The problem was the leftward turn, which we spoke about, not only in the last week but also during the election campaign - stated Krzysztof Hetman in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:19

Hetman:

In the PSL, we probably won't find anyone who would imagine a coalition with PiS

- I can't imagine it, and I don't think we'll find anyone in the PSL who would imagine a coalition with PiS - stated Krzysztof Hetman in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

Arłukowicz on Government Celebrations of the June 4th Election Anniversary: 'This Government Tries to Disregard All Important Dates and Moments of New Polish History. They Pretend Nothing Happened. They are Imbued with the PRL Mentality.'

This government tries to disregard all important dates and moments of new Polish history. They pretend nothing happened. They are imbued with the PRL mentality. They don't understand this. It should be a national holiday, a holiday for all of us, and these people simply don't respect it, and it's been like this for a long time” - said MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

08:20

Arłukowicz on Not Shaking Hands During Friday's Receipt of Election Certificates: There's No Political Subtext to It

I don't know what this whole fuss is about. Unbelievable. We have so many problems in Poland, the constitution is being broken, the law is being broken, the court states that the prime minister is lying, and we are wondering whether someone shook someone's hand or not. There is no political subtext to it. I received the certificate, I thanked the chairman of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), I bowed to everyone who was standing, and I returned to my seat” – said MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM’s morning program.

08:21

Arłukowicz:

October Elections Won't Decide Poland's Fate for the Next 4 Years. They Will Decide for the Next 8-12 Years
"I'm hoping we'll be together for the elections. These are crucial [parliamentary] elections. We lost these [European Parliament] elections. If we lose the next ones, and in my assessment, we can only win them together, then Poland will be on the sidelines of Europe for the next 8, 12 years. I am deeply convinced that the October elections will not decide Poland's fate for the next 4 years. They will decide for the next 8-12 years" - said MEP Bartosz Arłukowicz in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

Halicki on Leading the EPP Delegation in the EP: A Choice to Integrate Our Group, Focusing on New and Experienced MEPs

The choice [of Halicki to lead the EPP delegation in the EP] aims first and foremost to integrate our group – I am thinking of both our new members and those who are very experienced MEPs. Secondly, to work very closely with Civic Platform (PO) and the Coalition, meaning all our partners in Warsaw – this is the task. And finally, to achieve this – and this is the most important – to regain Poland's place in the European Parliament, to be close to decision-making, and to reclaim €100 billion” - stated EPP MEP Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:24

Halicki:

There Was No War with Wiosna

“Firstly, there was no war with Wiosna. Secondly, I regret that the voters were faced with a dilemma, because in this situation, where the alternative was very clearly presented: either a strong Poland in a strong Europe, or somewhere on the margins, I think those voters could have better positioned their votes,” said MEP Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:25

Halicki:

A Broad Civic Coalition of Pro-Democratic Groups Will Contest the Autumn Elections

„[Into the parliamentary elections will go] A large, broad civic coalition – I am not talking about the name now, but about its character – which will be composed of pro-democratic groups, as well as circles with a similar way of thinking, thus building a self-governing, civic, democratic, law-abiding, European Poland” – said Civic Coalition MEP Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

Dulkiewicz:

I will want to welcome the Prime Minister and invite him to a round-table discussion. I hope he accepts this invitation

- Prime Minister Morawiecki will probably appear here shortly, not far from here. Because today all roads lead to Gdańsk. We are celebrating the day of freedom and solidarity here, and I will very warmly want to welcome the Prime Minister and invite him to a round-table discussion. I hope he accepts this invitation - stated Aleksandra Dulkiewicz in Gdańsk.

Spychalski:

A Religious, Worldview War in Poland is Absolutely Unnecessary. It Can Be Summarized by Saying the Blame is Always on Tusk

- A religious war, a worldview war in Poland is something absolutely unnecessary and destructive. Opposition politicians stirred it up, stirred it up, stirred it up, and it ended as it ended. It can be summarized by saying that the blame is always on Tusk – said Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "The Heart of the Matter".

Piotr Duda Presents Flowers and Thanks Minister of Labour: "We Will Miss You." Rafalska: "Please Don't Personalize Our Social Programs with Me. I Was Just a Humble Labourer."

"On behalf of the National Commission of NSZZ Solidarność, on behalf of all of us, I would like to express my deep gratitude for your work for the family, for chairing the Social Dialogue Council, thank you for everything, for these good, and perhaps sometimes less favorable days, but Madam Minister knows that constructive, substantive dialogue can be conducted with Solidarity. We will miss you" – said Piotr Duda, chairman of NSZZ Solidarność, in the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard.

"You will be a worthy representative of our workers' concerns and the Polish family in the European Parliament. Thank you again for this great, difficult work" – he added.

"Thank you very much. I am happy as a minister not only because our government, as the PiS government and the United Right, has managed to introduce such social programs, but because I have seen how our social programs have changed the lives of Polish families. That is the most important thing. That is the essence. Please do not personalize our social programs with me. I was just a humble labourer" – responded PiS MEP, outgoing minister of family, Elżbieta Rafalska.

11:22

PMM:

Our Desire is Agreement, Awakening the Silent Majority so They Can Speak Up More and It Becomes Their Time

We are in a historic place [in the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard], where Solidarity was born, but before it was born, the Pope awakened solidarity in us several months earlier. His work, his words will create a completely new space of thinking for the desire for freedom, independence, democracy. It was 40 years ago that Pope John Paul II awakened solidarity in us” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard.

Contrary to today's various perspectives and views on our reality, our desire is agreement, the awakening of the silent majority, because that happened 40 years ago. I think we are striving so that the silent majority increasingly finds its voice, so that it is its time, and it is increasingly becoming its time” – he added.

11:39

Spychalski:

Reconstruction May Happen Tomorrow or Friday

- The President is very interested in this reconstruction happening as soon as possible. However, given the President's schedule, the reconstruction may take place tomorrow or on Friday. I would like to inform you that the President has reserved time for both tomorrow and Friday, concerning the government's reconstruction. I would also like to convey that the Prime Minister's motion, please remember that the motion must come from the Prime Minister, has not yet been submitted - said Błażej Spychalski during a press conference.

12:26

PMM at the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard: I Invite Dulkiewicz, who is somewhere nearby, as I saw her on the way, and her associates to a conference on John Paul II

This conference [concerning 40 years since John Paul II's first pilgrimage to the country] was organized by Mr. Chairman Piotr Duda in January, and in January he invited me to the conference. Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman. I also invite, if I may, on behalf of the organizers, Ms. President Dulkiewicz, who is also somewhere nearby, as I saw her on the way. I invite her associates to this conference, which was planned several months ago” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the BHP Hall of the Gdańsk Shipyard.

Czarzasty on EP Elections: Regarding the SLD, I Assess it Positively

- Regarding the Democratic Left Alliance, I assess it positively, we have 5 seats, which means the same as 5 years ago, even one more, because Mr. Adam Gierek was nominated then by our coalition partner, the Labour Union. We received exactly 6% of the votes, the same as Wiosna - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Signals of the Day" on PR1.

Responding to the statement that one can run independently in the autumn elections, the SLD leader replied: - One can do whatever one likes, right? However, we fielded thirteen people, Wiosna fielded their entire list. I think we put forward individuals who will prove themselves in the European Parliament. I thanked everyone who voted for them. A stable situation.

12:46

Czarzasty on Parliamentary Elections: Decisions Must Be Made Within a Month, or a Month and a Half at the Latest

- At this moment, decisions will need to be made within a month, or a month and a half at the latest, regarding how individual serious parties will proceed in the parliamentary elections. The PSL has chosen this path, meaning it has presented an alternative and initiated a discussion on this alternative, while also informing that the decision will be made within a month - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

12:57

Jaki:

Due to EP Election Win, I'm Leaving the Ministry of Justice. I Resign as Secretary of State and Head of the Verification Committee.

 - In connection with my election as a Member of the European Parliament, I am leaving the Ministry of Justice as of tomorrow. I am resigning both from the position of Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice and as the head of the verification committee - Patryk Jaki informed at a briefing at the Ministry of Justice.

13:15

Jaki:

Thanks to Our Commission's Work, No One Denies the Privatization Scandal Anymore
Today, no one has any doubts that there was a privatization scandal. Thanks to the work of our commission, no one is saying there wasn't a privatization scandal anymore. This amount of evidence, documented data leaves no room for doubt – Patryk Jaki informed at a briefing at the Ministry of Justice.

13:17

Jaki on the Number of Deputy Prime Ministers After Szydło's Departure: 'It's a Decision for the Leaders of United Right and PM Morawiecki, But I Believe It Should Remain the Same'

- It is of course a decision for the leaders of the United Right and Prime Minister Morawiecki, but I believe it should remain the same – Patryk Jaki informed at a briefing at the Ministry of Justice, when asked if the number of Deputy Prime Ministers would remain the same after Beata Szydło's departure.

13:20

Jaki:

There Hasn't Been a Program This Nasty in the Third Republic as 'Black on White'

- I don't know the details regarding this proceeding [a disciplinary ombudsman is to prosecute judges who criticized the deputy president of the court on TVN24], but I know the program 'Black on White'. I believe that there hasn't been a program this nasty in the Third Republic as this very program - Patryk Jaki informed at a briefing at the Ministry of Justice.

14:25

Dulkiewicz:

It's a shame the Prime Minister didn't accept the invitation to talk not just with me, but with the people at Solidarity Square. We should rebuild community not only in Gdańsk, but in Poland.

I am simply saddened, because Gdańsk, as well as the round table standing here at Solidarity Square, shows that it is possible to unite, not divide. It is a shame that the Prime Minister did not accept the invitation to talk not only with me, but with the people who are there all the time. I am simply saddened because I feel that we should rebuild community not only in Gdańsk, but in Poland” - said the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, at a press conference at the European Solidarity Centre.

At the beginning of April, on April 11th, I sent a letter to the Prime Minister, to the Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate, inviting them to the commemorations, so it is simply untrue that this happened today” - she added.

Joachim Brudziński Summarizes His Year and a Half as Head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration

- The year and a half that I was given to spend as head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration was a safe time for Poles - said Minister Joachim Brudziński during the summary of his work in the ministry.

The minister thanked the deputy ministers in the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the commanders of the services, and the officers of all formations for their cooperation over the past year and a half. He emphasized that it is precisely thanks to the work of the police officers, firefighters, and border guards that, according to the latest CBOS research, as many as 89% of respondents consider Poland a safe country to live in. 98% of respondents consider their neighborhood to be safe. Never in the history of this survey, i.e., since March 1987, has the percentage of indications of a sense of security in the vicinity of one's place of residence been so high.

The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration noted that over the past year and a half, one of the best examples of the services' effectiveness was the securing of state ceremonies on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, including the "For You, Poland" march. The Warsaw march was the largest gathering protected by the Warsaw Police in its history. The services also secured other events, including the Climate Summit in Katowice (COP24) and the conference on building peace and security in the Middle East.

- One of the most difficult tasks that I had to solve together with my colleagues was to reach an agreement with the officers' trade unions. On November 8, these talks were successfully concluded - said the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

During the conference, Joachim Brudziński thanked all his colleagues, commanders, and officers, as well as journalists. - For me personally, it was a time of extremely intense work, but on the other hand, it gave immense satisfaction - concluded the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

Obajtek:

Hard Negotiating Stance Strategy Yielded Results
During a meeting in Moscow concerning the resumption of clean oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline to Poland, the Polish side was presented with a compensation mechanism between Transneft and oil producers. In this regard, as previously announced by Daniel Obajtek, CEO of PKN ORLEN, a breakthrough has occurred. - The strategy of a firm negotiating stance has yielded results. We could afford it with the support of our government, but also, most importantly, because over the past year, we have significantly diversified oil supplies to Poland. Currently, at the PKN ORLEN refinery in Płock, we process only 50 percent of oil from the eastern direction. Thanks to this, we can react flexibly in any random situation related to supply interruptions – says Daniel Obajtek, CEO of PKN ORLEN. The Polish side received a declaration that the company Transneft will provide compensation to Russian crude oil producers to cover claims directed at them by oil recipients (including PKN ORLEN). Russian suppliers and crude oil producers present at the meeting in Moscow emphasized the validity of the solution. From a technical standpoint, operators are ready to resume clean crude oil supplies from June 10 this year. The meeting in Moscow was attended by, among others, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation and representatives of Transneft. The Polish side was represented by PKN ORLEN, PERN, and Grupa LOTOS. Also present were representatives from two German refineries, trading companies that are recipients of Russian crude oil, and Russian oil producers.

Kopcińska:

Those Replacing Departing Ministers Are Worthy Representatives. We Have No Reserve Players.

- I can only assure you that those who will replace the departing ministers are worthy representatives. We have no reserve players. Everyone is prepared to hold important positions, and those who will be appointed by the Prime Minister are ready for it - Joanna Kopcińska said in an interview with TVP Info.

17:35

Macierewicz on the Polish People's Party (PSL): The Decision to Support the European Coalition Will Leave a Mark of Betraying National and Christian Values on These People

- The decision to support the so-called European Coalition, I think will forever leave a mark on these people, simply a betrayal of values, a betrayal of fundamental national and Christian values to which the Polish nation and the Polish countryside are faithful - Antoni Macierewicz said in an interview with Adrian Klarenbach on Polish Radio 24.

18:10

Spychalski:

Tomorrow at 10:30 AM, New Ministers to be Appointed Following Prime Minister's Decision and Request Submitted to the Presidential Palace

- It is not possible to appoint [new ministers] at a moment when their predecessors are still in office, so of course, it will be the same ceremony. First, there will be a dismissal, then an appointment, but this will happen in quick succession - stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM.

- Tomorrow at 10:30 AM, new ministers will be appointed in accordance with the Prime Minister's decision and the request that has been submitted to the Presidential Palace - emphasized the spokesperson for the President of Poland (PAD).

18:14

Spychalski on Szczerski as a Potential Minister in Morawiecki's Government: 'It's the First I'm Hearing of It'

- It's the first I'm hearing of it, although recently Minister Szczerski has indeed been placed in various configurations and various places by the media. This indicates that the President has excellent ministers - stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM, when asked if Krzysztof Szczerski is a candidate for minister in Mateusz Morawiecki's government.

18:17

Spychalski on Government Reconstruction: The President is Satisfied with the Personnel Proposals Made by the Prime Minister

- This list [of new ministers] is of course known to the President, and the President is satisfied with these personnel proposals put forward by the Prime Minister - stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM.

Piotr Müller Appointed New Government Spokesperson

As 300POLITYKA has learned, Piotr Müller, the current Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, will become the new government spokesperson, replacing Joanna Kopcińska.

In the government, he was responsible for the largest reform of higher education in free Poland. He managed to unite the academic community around the reform – from rectors to students and doctoral candidates. The communication strategy of the so-called Constitution for Science is considered one of the best in recent years, according to one of our interlocutors.

A lawyer, a graduate of the University of Warsaw, he was previously a member of the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee, a member of the Senate of the University of Warsaw, and the chairman of the Parliament of Students of the Republic of Poland.

In December 2018, Müller was offered the opportunity to take over a parliamentary mandate following the death of Jolanta Szczypińska and the resignation of Piotr Karczewski, to which he agreed. He took the oath of office on December 28. In the recent European Parliament elections, running in the district covering the Pomeranian Voivodeship, he received 10,573 votes.

His father, Edward Müller, was a political prisoner during the communist era (PRL), the head of NSZZ "Solidarity" in Central Pomerania, and a member of the national authorities of the union. From 1989 to 1993, he served as a Member of Parliament (Sejm).

"Do you want to convince me that the Mayor of Gdańsk approached in front of the cameras to invite the Prime Minister to anything, or did she do it for another purpose? In my opinion, the Mayor of the city invited the Prime Minister of the government in a different manner. There are offices, there are normal rules of the game" - said Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski in "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News - "Today, it is a kind of happening. The Deputy Prime Minister Model Created for Przemysław Gosiewski Returns. The Prime Minister Wants to Limit External Influence on Legislation

According to 300POLITYKA's sources, media reports from last week are confirmed: Jacek Sasin is to remain head of the Council of Ministers' Standing Committee, but with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister. This is to be a return to the concept of a Deputy Prime Minister position created in Jarosław Kaczyński's government for Przemysław Gosiewski. As we hear, strengthening the role of the head of the Standing Committee is intended to limit leaks regarding the work of individual ministries, increase discipline among ministers, and curb external influences on legislative projects being developed. Our sources also emphasize that Sasin is one of Mateusz Morawiecki's closest collaborators, and the Prime Minister was keen on such a decision.

Muniek Staszczyk to Kukiz: PiS are kind of your buddies. Kukiz: And yours are the stars of disco polo. I'm closest to democracy, which isn't fully present in Poland.
PiS are kind of your buddies - stated Muniek Staszczyk, addressing Paweł Kukiz, during Monika Olejnik's "Kropka nad i" [A Dot Over the i]. - Listen, and your buddy is, for example, the star of disco polo - the politician retorted. - Paweł, but you're closer to PiS than to the European Coalition - the musician persistently pressed. - I'm far from both one and the other. I'm closest to democracy, which isn't fully present in Poland. - And why don't you point out how you gained such electoral points? - But with what? - Well, why don't you point out Jarosław Kaczyński from Żoliborz? - But why Jarosław Kaczyński, and not the system that allows for a Jarosław Kaczyński or a Donald Tusk.

Spychalski, when asked if Szczerski is a candidate for minister in the PMM government: First I'm hearing about this.

Macierewicz on PSL: The decision to support the EC will leave a mark of betrayal of national and Christian values on these people.

Joachim Brudziński summarized his year and a half as head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
Dulkiewicz: It's a shame the Prime Minister did not accept the invitation to talk not only with me but with the people in Solidarity Square. We should rebuild community not only in Gdańsk but also in Poland.
