Today's State of Play

STATE OF PLAY: Flieger: For some reason, voters find it easier to identify with the Nawrockis than a feminist, Kublik: But a feminist would advise a woman to 'shut up'?

-- BIELAN: RADICALIZING OUR MESSAGE PRIMARILY BROUGHT INCREASED SUPPORT FOR KONFEDERACJA AND KKP, BIELAN ON ASYLUM FOR ZIOBRO IN HUNGARY: IT CERTAINLY DOESN'T HELP US - 300LIVE: https://300polityka.pl/pl/live

-- IT IS CERTAIN THAT IN THE COMING WEEKS OR MONTHS, COMPETITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED IN COMPANIES SUCH AS ORLEN OR PZU - BARTEK GODUSŁAWSKI IN BUSINESS INSIDER: "It is certain that in the coming weeks or months, competitions can be expected in companies such as Orlen or PZU. The Płock-based concern, the largest state-supervised entity, has always been a personnel puzzle where the interests of coalition parties or various politicians were reconciled. Orlen is implementing an advanced investment program, so an earthquake in the management of this company could realistically affect its operations."

-- A COMPETITION WILL MOST LIKELY ALSO NEED TO BE HELD AT BANK PEKAO, MANAGED BY CEZARY STYPUŁKOWSKI - GODUSŁAWSKI FURTHER IN BI: "At PZU, the new head Bogdan Benczak appeared only last September, and just before Christmas, he received formal approval from the Financial Supervision Authority to formally take up the position of president. A competition will most likely also need to be held at Bank Pekao, managed by Cezary Stypułkowski. The State Treasury does not directly control the bank with the bison, but its largest shareholders are PZU and Polski Fundusz Rozwoju, so it is indirectly controlled by the state."

-- WITH HER INTERVIEW ON TVN24, SHE CONFIRMED ABOVE ALL WHAT MANY PEOPLE SUSPECTED: THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE IS TOO HIGH A BAR FOR PEOPLE LIKE THE NAWROCKIS - NATALIA WALOCH IN GW.

-- AS A FEMINIST, AS A RULE, I NEVER ADVISE WOMEN TO BE QUIET. TODAY I AM MAKING AN EXCEPTION - WALOCH FURTHER IN GW: "From the interview with Joanna Kryńska, it's impossible to extract a single sensible segment that would put Marta Nawrocka in a good light. I am disgusted and disappointed by this, because as a feminist, as a rule, I never advise women to be quiet. Today I am making an exception." https://www.wysokieobcasy.pl/wysokie-obcasy/7,100865,32600702,wywiad-nawrockiej-w-tvn24-jako-feministka-rzadko-radze-kobietom.html

-- FOR SOME REASON, VOTERS FIND IT EASIER TO IDENTIFY WITH THE NAWROCKIS THAN A FEMINIST FROM "WYSOKIE OBCASY," SOMETHING THE LIBERAL-LEFT CAMP STILL HAS A PROBLEM WITH - ESTERA FLIEGER IN RZ: "It seems that the publicist is most bothered by the fact that the common people entered the palace – I would like to ask her whether she is a fan of 'Peasants' and what she laughed at while watching the series '1670'? 'With her interview on TVN24 (Nawrocka - ed.), she confirmed above all what many people suspected: that the Presidential Palace is too high a bar for people like the Nawrockis,' wrote Waloch. The point is, she is not the one deciding this, but the voters, who for some reason find it easier to identify with the Nawrockis than a feminist from 'Wysokie Obcasy,' something the liberal-left camp still has a problem with – perhaps they've lost too few presidential elections."

-- IT SEEMS THAT THE BOUNDARY OF "SISTERHOOD" IS DEFINED BY CONSERVATIVE VIEWS - FLIEGER FURTHER IN RZ: "It seems that the boundary of 'sisterhood' is defined by conservative views. 'You will never walk alone,' unless you express yourself differently than feminists expected. Or – because editor Kryńska is also getting flak – you conduct an interview with the wrong woman."

-- I WOULDN'T ADVISE HER TO "SHUT UP" - AGNIESZKA KUBLIK IN GW: "It's great that Natalia Waloch felt disgusted and now knows how and for what to judge Nawrocka. But would a feminist advise a woman to 'shut up'? A feminist to a man? A non-feminist to a woman? Can anyone tell anyone else that they'd better be silent if they are not lying and not harming others? Because if they say what we don't like, what we don't approve of, what – as we know – liberal elites will condemn, that's no reason. If they speak foolishly, incoherently, that's no reason. Most publicly speaking politicians (of both sexes) behave exactly like that." https://wyborcza.pl/7,75398,32601422,pierwsza-dama-marta-nawrocka-w-wywiadzie-telewizyjnym-zaliczyla.html

-- CZARZASTY COUNTS ON SHIFTING A FEW PERCENT OF THE MOST RADICAL VOTES FROM PLATFORMA TO LEWICA AND PROMOTING HIMSELF TO THE POSITION OF THE PRIME MINISTER'S MAIN VASSAL, WITHOUT WHOM THE HEAD OF GOVERNMENT WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MANAGE - JAN ROKITA IN TYGODNIK SIECI: "By promoting himself through attacks on Nawrocki, and now on Trump, the Marshal is trying to take control of the 'furious' faction in Tusk's camp, hoping to kill two birds with one stone: shift a few percent of the most radical votes from Platforma to Lewica and elevate himself to the position of the Prime Minister's main vassal, without whom the head of government will no longer be able to manage. Paradoxically, therefore, by attacking Trump, Czarzasty is going behind Tusk's back, trying to step into his shoes where the Prime Minister, willy-nilly, has to moderate himself and rein in his own fierce hostility towards the US president. Tusk can no longer shoot Trump in the back with two fingers as he used to, because it would too glaringly undermine Poland's position in the world. Czarzasty would therefore like to replace him in this area."

-- EVEN IN COUNTRIES LIKE FRANCE OR GERMANY, NO PRESIDENT, PRIME MINISTER, OR HEAD OF PARLIAMENT HAS PUBLICLY OPPOSED AMERICAN EFFORTS - JAN ROKITA FURTHER: "Even in countries like France or Germany, which have reasons to quarrel with Trump, as he constantly puts them in their place and criticizes their policies, no president, prime minister, or head of parliament has publicly opposed American efforts for this award. And especially Poland – which in Trump's rhetoric always appears as a model, example, and positive hero – is acting to the detriment of its own interests, deliberately destroying this good climate in relations with the leader of America."

-- THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR POLAND MUST CHOOSE THEIR WORDS VERY CAREFULLY - KATARZYNA PEŁCZYŃSKA-NAŁĘCZ IN CONVERSATION WITH JACEK NIŻNIKIEWICZ IN RZ: "We are in a very difficult international situation, with an unpredictable ally whose actions are sometimes not in line with our national interest. Those responsible for Poland must choose their words very carefully. On the one hand, defend the dignity of the Polish state, but on the other – if possible – do not escalate."

-- THE WAY THIS INFORMATION WAS CONVEYED COULD HAVE BEEN MORE BALANCED AND NON-CONFRONTATIONAL - PEŁCZYŃSKA-NAŁĘCZ FURTHER WITH NIŻNIKIEWICZ IN RZ: "I agree that President Trump does not deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, because he is not a president who has contributed to greater peace in the world. However, the way this information was conveyed could have been more balanced and non-confrontational. Everything we do must have one goal: the security of Poland."
