-- WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT IS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE MINDS OF WESTERN CITIZENS. AND THERE, UNFORTUNATELY, CARELESS WINDS TOO OFTEN BLOW - JAROSŁAW KUISZ IN INTERIA: “It's clear that whether Kaczyński or Tusk travels to Kyiv, it has a largely symbolic meaning. What's more important is what happens in the minds of Western citizens. And there, unfortunately, careless winds too often blow. And this happens even though three people died and dozens were injured in the attack on Ukrainian territory that scrambled our planes on Tuesday. Residential buildings are burning. And so it goes on and on.”

-- IN THE LAW AND JUSTICE (PIS) PARTY, THERE IS INCREASING ANGER TOWARDS PRESIDENT ANDRZEJ DUDA. BECAUSE THE HEAD OF STATE MAKES DECISIONS, AND NOWOGRODZKA (PIS HEADQUARTERS) LEARNS ABOUT THEM FROM TELEVISION - JACEK GĄDEK IN GAZETA.PL: “But there is no desire in the Presidential Palace to build ties with Nowogrodzka. - PiS will not know about the president's decisions in advance. PiS is in opposition, after all. Jarosław Kaczyński will find out from the media - we hear from one of the people advising the head of state.”

-- PERHAPS IT WILL END WITH A "ROTTEN" COMPROMISE, WHERE KAMIŃSKI WILL NOT BE A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT, BUT WĄSIK WILL. THE FINAL DECISION WILL HAVE TO BE MADE BY THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION - PIOTR ŚMIŁOWICZ IN GAZETA.PL: “- Even accepting Marshal Hołownia's worldview, which in our opinion is contrary to the law, Maciej Wąsik is a member of parliament, and even Hołownia, with all his legal acrobatics, cannot state otherwise – emphasizes Fogiel. Perhaps it will end with a "rotten" compromise, where Kamiński will not be a member of parliament, but Wąsik will. The final decision will have to be made by the National Electoral Commission.”

-- DUDA HAS FUELED THE POLITICAL TURMOIL - ROMAN IMIELSKI IN GW (GAZETA WYBORCZA): “Therefore, the new act of mercy, embellished by President Duda with insinuations about the political connections of PiS opponents with "corrupt activities," cannot be treated as anything other than saving colleagues from oppression. And showing that if you are one of us, the principle of "everyone is equal before the law" does not exist.”

-- BODNAR HAS THE LICENSE TO RECLAIM THE JUDICIARY. HE DOESN'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF DUDA'S TERM - EWA SIEDLECKA IN TYGODNIK POLITYKA: “The situation is not a stalemate, and Bodnar has the tools in hand to fix it. Much depends on who the line prosecutors, i.e., 90% of prosecutors, will listen to. Bodnar gives them the prospect of dignified work instead of serving the ruling party. At his request, the Polish government has acceded to the European Public Prosecutor's Office; promotions will depend on talent and diligence, not obedience. (...) The Prosecutor General can change the internal regulations of the prosecution service or the scope of duties for individual positions in the National Prosecution Service, and thus cut off rebels from interfering in investigations. What will the line prosecutors choose? Will they recognize Barski or Bodnar as their chief, and Bilewicz acting on his behalf? They likely remember the case of Kamiński, Wąsik, and his two subordinates: they were convicted because they did not refuse to carry out illegal orders from Kamiński. If they choose the wrong chief, they may face criminal charges.”

-- MINISTER FOR SPECIAL TASKS. AFTER YEARS OF SADNESS, HE HAS GROWN IN TUSK'S GOVERNMENT. HE ACTS "SIENKIEWICZ-STYLE" - RAFAŁ KALUKIN IN TYGODNIK POLITYKA: “He coldly carries out the tasks assigned to him by Donald Tusk, without bothering to explain himself to public opinion. He most often announces decisions in laconic statements via social media. And it was only the motion of no confidence filed by PiS that forced the Minister of Culture to elaborate on his reasons in the parliamentary chamber. He did so in his own style, "Sienkiewicz-style." Instead of getting bogged down in legal technicalities, he went into moral discourse. Because in essence – as he stated at the outset – this is a dispute "about fundamental matters, about life and death." In this context, the names Paweł Adamowicz and Mikołaj Filiks were mentioned.”

-- "WE DO NOT SUPPORT THE LEFT'S ABORTION LEGALIZATION PROJECT" – OTHER MPS FROM POLSKA 2050 TELL US. WILL THEY SUBMIT THEIR OWN PROJECT? - JULIA THEUS IN OKO.PRESS: "I am for the legalization of abortion up to 12 weeks, just like most of my colleagues from Polska 2050. However, I have doubts about the Left's bill. Especially concerning the legalization of abortion up to 24 weeks. I know that many people – not only from Polska 2050 – have a problem with it. That's why the idea arose to create additional parliamentary projects" – Aleksandra Leo, an MP from Polska 2050, tells OKO.press.”
-- A REFERENDUM IN SUCH A SITUATION WILL NOT BE AT RISK OF REJECTION. AND THE PRESIDENT WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE THAT HE RESPECTS THE DECISION OF THE MAJORITY OF POLISH WOMEN AND MEN” – SAYS ALEKSANDRA LEO IN OKO.PRESS: “If we don't want to wait until the end of President Duda's term for the legalization of abortion up to 12 weeks, then perhaps we will have to consider a referendum project. It is not an ideal solution, and personally, I am not its supporter. But it may turn out to be the only way out of the situation for now. Especially since polls clearly show that 60% of society is in favor of legalizing abortion. A referendum in such a situation will not be at risk of rejection. And the president will have an opportunity to prove that he respects the decision of the majority of Polish women and men” – says Aleksandra Leo.”

-- THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THE CURRENT RULING CAMP TO GOVERN FOR SEVERAL TERMS - TOMASZ SAWCZUK IN KULTURA LIBERALNA: “Tactically speaking, the intensification of the political conflict related to the settlement of abuses and the restoration of order may weaken Jarosław Kaczyński's party. If it concentrates on defending pathologies, theft, and corruption of all kinds, as in the context of public media, it is unlikely to increase its electoral chances. It will also be difficult for it to govern without coalition partners. Therefore, there is potential for the current ruling camp to govern for several terms. In the meantime, fundamental changes could occur on the right, as a result of which PiS would cease to be an anti-system party. However, it cannot be ruled out that Jarosław Kaczyński's formation will return to power in an unchanged form regarding systemic issues.”
-- AS THEY SAY – THE CRISIS OF THE RULE OF LAW IN POLAND HAS A POLITICAL, NOT A LEGAL, SOURCE - SAWCZUK FURTHER IN KL (KULTURA LIBERALNA): “One could also say that if new constitutional norms are passed without PiS's support, it will be equivalent to its hostility towards the constitution from day one. However, this is a risk that also exists in the scenario of a constitutional reset – can we trust that negotiations with Jarosław Kaczyński would be conducted in good faith? Such risks are worth minimizing if possible, but ultimately they are inherent in democracy – a party that wants to demolish the constitutional order can always gain popularity. As has been said – the crisis of the rule of law in Poland has a political, not a legal, source.”

-- INSTEAD OF AGREEMENT ON THE "CONSTITUTIONAL MOMENT," THE SPIRIT OF FIGHTING AND THE DESIRE TO ERASE THE OPPONENT FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH REIGNS SUPREME - BOGUSŁAW CHRABOTA IN RP (RZECZPOSPOLITA): “Instead of agreement on the "constitutional moment," the spirit of fighting and the desire to erase the opponent from the face of the earth reigns supreme. Even the first citizen, who should come out with such an initiative and invite to the table, is an active party to the conflict. Therefore, it is difficult to even dream of any constitutional majority that would amend the fundamental law. What remains is an ordinary majority and a laborious (because tied to expiring terms) attempt to fix reality through legislation.”

-- THE LEADER OF THE "DECEIVED VILLAGE" IS GOING TO A ROAD BLOCKADE TODAY. "I THOUGHT THAT ON OCTOBER 15TH WE FOUGHT THE LAST BATTLE" - IN AN INTERVIEW WITH JACEK BRZUSZKIEWICZ IN GW (GAZETA WYBORCZA): “although not long ago I was deeply convinced that participation in the large demonstrations of June 4th, October 1st, and especially in the elections of October 15th, which were victorious for the democratic opposition, would be the last such events. We won!. (...) Because the prospects in the countryside are getting worse and worse, darker and darker. For this reason, the cup of bitterness is overflowing, the Spring of Nations is erupting, although spring is still far away. The cup of bitterness is overflowing not only in Poland. Farmers have been blocking Paris, Berlin, and Bucharest for weeks.”
