-- THE NEW TELEVISION IS TO BE PART OF THE NEWSMAX BALKANS GROUP, WHICH OPERATES IN SERBIA AND BELONGS TO TELEKOM SRBIJA – IZABELA KACPRZAK IN RZ: “We have established that the television of Serbian investors in Poland is to be built by Wojciech Surmacz, former head of the Polish Press Agency, who was recently the CEO of Media Alert, the publisher of Biznes Alert, owned by the Jagiellonian Institute. Marcin Roszkowski, president of the Institute, a former partner of Przemysław Wipler, current MP for Konfederacja, considered a businessman and lobbyist, who also had strong ties with the Jagiellonian Institute in the past (e.g., he was its director), joined Media Alert with Surmacz”.

-- WIPLERA IS INDICATED AS THE ONE BEHIND NEWSMAX POLSKA, HIS CLOSE ACQUAINTANCE – MARCIN MASTALEREK – IS ALSO TO BE INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT - FURTHERMORE FROM IZABELA KACPRZAK IN RZ: “Within the right-wing media circles, it is Przemysław Wipler who is pointed to as the one behind Newsmax Polska. His close acquaintance – Marcin Mastalerek, former spokesperson for President Andrzej Duda, is also reportedly involved in the project”.

-- NEWSMAX POLSKA IS A BUSINESS MODEL BASED ON A FRANCHISE – AND THAT IS THE ONLY THING IT HAS IN COMMON WITH THE AMERICAN TELEVISION – KACPRZAK FURTHER IN RZ: “Newsmax Polska is a business model based on a franchise – and that is the only thing it has in common with the American television. According to the magazine 'Press', Newsmax was supposed to launch in Poland in April 2026 – as announced in November 2025 by Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucić”.

-- SAKIEWICZ'S COMMENTARY: EUROSECPTIC AND ANTI-UKRAINIAN SENTIMENTS ARE GROWING IN POLAND, BUT THERE IS NO CONSENT FOR DEALS WITH RUSSIA – SAKIEWICZ FURTHER IN KACPRZAK'S REPORT IN RZ: “I haven't heard of anyone from my team leaving for the new brand, although I admit we have financial difficulties – adds Sakiewicz. In his opinion, any potential Russian capital is a burden for the new entity. – Eurosceptic and anti-Ukrainian sentiments are growing in Poland, but there is no consent for deals with Russia – he emphasizes”.

-- THE GOVERNMENT IS LOWERING FUEL PRICES TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF THE WAR IN IRAN AND CALM SENTIMENTS BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. HOWEVER, ECONOMICS REMAINS UNRELENTING – THE COST OF THIS DECISION WILL NOT DISAPPEAR. IT WILL MERELY BE SHIFTED IN TIME AND RETURN TO US LATER - CEZARY SZYMANEK IN RZ: “The problem is that the 'here and now' policy has a price. Every artificially lowered price today means a cost deferred in time. In Poland's case, this is about PLN 1.6 billion per month, or nearly PLN 5 billion per quarter. Added to this is the risk of a maximum price, which tempts with its simplicity but disconnects the market from reality”.

-- HOWEVER, THIS WILL BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE EASTER SINCE 1989. THE BILL WILL COME DUE IN A FEW YEARS. IN TAXES - SZYMANEK FURTHER IN RZ: “However, this will be the most expensive Easter since 1989. The bill will come due in a few years. In taxes, in debt, in the costs of state financing. And as usual, it will turn out that the 'here and now' policy was only cheap for a moment”.

-- THE GOVERNMENT CAN MITIGATE THE PRICE SHOCK FOR CONSUMERS. HOWEVER, WITH LAWS AND REGULATIONS, IT WILL NOT FILL GAS AND OIL STORAGE FACILITIES – MAREK RABIJ IN TYGODNIK POWSZECHNY: “The government can mitigate the price shock for consumers. However, with laws and regulations, it will not fill gas and oil storage facilities. For now, the diversified sources of energy raw materials, which Poland happily imports not only from the Persian Gulf region, ensure us regular supplies, and the scenario that has already materialized in Asia – queues at stations and fuel rationing – remains mainly a childhood memory for today's 50-year-olds”.

-- IT IS ENOUGH FOR THE MAJORITY OF ENTREPRENEURS TO THINK SO, AND A SUDDEN RISE IN INFLATION IS GUARANTEED – RABIJ FURTHER IN TP: “Since it is unknown how the prices of gasoline and diesel will behave, it is better to secure oneself against a worse scenario and raise the price of one's product. It is enough for the majority of entrepreneurs to think so, and a sudden rise in inflation is guaranteed. Add to this the shortages in the natural gas market, a basic raw material for fertilizer production, and the risk increases even further”.

-- IT WAS THE LAST MOMENT FOR THE PRIME MINISTER'S INACTION AND HIGH PRICES AT STATIONS NOT TO BECOME THE DEFAULT TOPIC AT EASTER TABLES – WOJCIECH SZACKI ON TYGODNIK POLITYKA'S PORTAL: “Tusk probably had no choice; gasoline prices rose due to the US and Israeli war with Iran, threatening an increase in inflation. PiS demanded government action and had the support of a decisive majority of Poles, who also demanded that the authorities intervene. It was the last moment for the Prime Minister's inaction and high prices at stations not to become the default topic at Easter tables”.

-- TUSK HAS ALREADY USED MOST OF THE AVAILABLE TOOLS, AND THE BUDGET'S FLEXIBILITY IS NOT UNLIMITED – SZACKI FURTHER: “But after this spectacular victory, it's worth considering what's next. Because blitzkriegs can go in different directions in the long run. Tusk has already used most of the available tools, and the budget's flexibility is not unlimited. What if the fuel crisis doesn't end within a month? Two? If it lasts until the end of the year?”

-- SCHOOL WITHOUT SMARTPHONES. ANOTHER EDUCATIONAL GIMMICK BY PRIME MINISTER TUSK? - ANTON AMBROZIAK IN OKO.PRESS: “The Ministry of National Education commissioned a diagnosis which indicates that prohibitions do not teach. Despite this, the Ministry of Education is introducing a central ban on smartphone use in primary schools starting September 1st. Why? Because it's easier to maintain discipline in lessons this way, people want it, and the Prime Minister too. Interestingly, the changes will only affect public schools. The phone ban in schools is the third intervention by Prime Minister Donald Tusk in educational policy. First, there was the abolition of homework, then the resignation from compulsory health education, and now – the regulation of rules for using phones in classrooms and corridors. So far, none of these have ended well for either the children or the school staff”.
