-- THE PRIME MINISTER ON AN ERA OF CHANGE AND A NORMAL STATE - LIVE REPORT FROM THE EXPOSE: https://300polityka.pl/live/2019/11/19/ -- PMM SHOWED ON FB HOW FAMILY SUPPORTED HER ON THE DAY OF THE EXPOSE: Support from Children - check, support from personal stylist, i.e. my beloved Wife - check, note-taking set - check, glasses - check. This means I am ready for #Expose https://www.facebook.com/MorawieckiPL/photos/a.122054089139129/149660503045154/?type=3&theater -- THERE WILL BE A DAY WITH OLGĄ TOKARCZUK ON TVP KULTURA - as Kalina Cyz, acting director of TVP Kultura, says in an interview with Małgorzata Piwowar in RZ: “Regarding Olga Tokarczuk, on December 10th, when she receives the Nobel Prize, we will break the schedule especially for her. We will then show everything we have about her on TVP, including Theatre TV performances, and the documentary “Olga T.'s Journeys” by Ewa Pytka. We are also trying to obtain the rights to “Ahat illi – Sisters of Gods,” an opera by Aleksander Nowak, for which she wrote the libretto. https://www.rp.pl/Telewizja/311189919-TVP-Kultura-zrobi-wyjatek-dla-Tokarczuk.html -- GOWIN CAN BLOCK PIOTROWICZ'S ELECTION - JACEK GĄDEK ON GAZETA.PL: “If PiS wants to push through the abolition of the 30-fold ZUS limit against Jarosław Gowin's Agreement, then 18 'Gowinists' can block the election of Stanisław Piotrowicz as a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal - gazeta.pl has learned. - Since PiS wants to seek support from the left [for the abolition of the 30-fold ZUS], maybe they should also seek support for Stanisław Piotrowicz in the Constitutional Tribunal there - one of the politicians from Porozumienie tells Gazeta.pl”. http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/7,114884,25420645,partia-j-gowina-moze-zablokowac-wybor-piotrowicza-do-tk-odwet.html -- PIS WASTED A MONTH - MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ: “Mateusz Morawiecki's expose comes at a difficult time for PiS. Increasingly, politicians from this party admit that the ruling party has wasted the month that has passed since the elections. There was no honeymoon, no hundred days of peace. Instead, controversial decisions – also for members of the PiS club – such as personnel changes or triggering a dispute within the coalition by submitting a motion to abolish the thirty-fold limit on ZUS contributions”. -- PIS SHOULD STAND BEHIND MORAWIECKI, BECAUSE THE EXPOSE CAN GIVE NEW IMPETUS - CONTINUES SZUŁDRZYŃSKI: "In addition, PiS has an increasingly serious critic from the right – Konfederacja. In the past, such decisions as entrusting the leadership of a parliamentary committee to a MP from the Razem party would have at most provoked protests from Catholic journalists. Today, they provide essential oxygen for the radical right, which in its traditionalist rhetoric will always outbid PiS, which must – especially before the presidential elections – meander between clarity and an attempt to tempt the moderate electorate. In this sense, the entire hope of the ruling camp lies with Prime Minister Morawiecki. His expose could give the ruling party new impetus and allow it to emerge from political defense. But this would mean that the entire movement should stand behind him and abandon internal struggles for influence, which are currently in full swing”. https://www.rp.pl/Analizy/191119498-Szuldrzynski-PiS-przegral-wyborcze-zwyciestwo.html -- POLAND AS AN ALTERNATIVE POLE TO MACRON - JĘDRZEJ BIELECKI IN RZ: “Among the six large EU countries, only Poland can match France in terms of political stability, where presidential elections will not take place until 2022. During a speech at KSAP in mid-October, the head of Polish diplomacy, Jacek Czaputowicz, even stated that Warsaw has become an alternative pole for integration in relation to Paris, emphasizing, among other things, open competition within the single market, the abandonment of building a federal European state, and care for transatlantic relations. However, Macron does not see Poland as a competitor. And although in an interview for “The Economist” he admitted that he is “starting to talk” with Poles and that Poland has avoided many of the problems faced by other EU countries, in his opinion, this has come at the cost of abandoning the rules of liberal democracy”. https://www.rp.pl/Unia-Europejska/311189913-Macron-chce-przejac-przywodztwo-w-UE-W-Polsce-nie-widzi-rywala.html?cid -- DON'T COMPETE WITH THE LEFT AND PIS - WITOLD GADOMSKI IN GW: “Civic Coalition (KO) should not compete with PiS over who will promise voters greater social transfers. PiS leaders already know they have promised too much and are frantically looking for money to fulfill these promises. In addition, the Left, present in the Sejm, will try to outbid them. It is not in power, so it does not have to worry about budget realities and is not responsible for state finances. Therefore, we can expect an avalanche of ideas from them, such as: raising the minimum pension to PLN 1.6 thousand per month, a leap in the minimum wage, zero PIT for pensioners and low-income earners. KO should not succumb to the temptation of supporting these ideas, as it has a real chance of forming a government in four years, and it is in its interest to maintain the stability of state finances”. https://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,25422799,danielewski-gadomski-terlikowski-moje-zyczenia-na-nadchodzace.html -- I WANT A BAN ON ABORTION AND SAME-SEX MARRIAGES - TOMASZ TERLIKOWSKI IN GW: “I expect the parliament, where the Law and Justice party currently has a majority, and more broadly – the Christian-conservative option – to provide real, not just declarative, defense of life and decisions concerning the strengthening of the traditional (i.e., permanent and consisting of a man and a woman) model of marriage”. -- TERLIKOWSKI'S POSTULATES: “What does this mean in practice? The answer is simple. If this parliament and the United Right want to be recorded in the history of the Republic of Poland as truly conservative and right-wing, they should do at least two things. First: ban – after many months of deception, freezing of projects, evading the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling – eugenic abortion. Second: finally, even by amending the constitution, formulate the provisions regarding the protection of marriage as a union of a man and a woman in such a way as to prevent, or at least significantly hinder, the introduction of partnership unions into Polish legislation, and later same-sex marriages”. https://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,25422799,danielewski-gadomski-terlikowski-moje-zyczenia-na-nadchodzace.html -- ON THE UNEQUIVOCAL RELATIONS BETWEEN PIS AND THE CHURCH - JAREMA PIEKUTOWSKI IN KRYTYKA AS PART OF SPIĘCIE: “And indeed, part of the Church (and part of the Episcopate, represented by bishops like Wiesław Mering or Marek Jędraszewski) is satisfied with this turn of events. However, when it comes to legal solutions, practically nothing has changed: Law and Justice has not made any changes in this area aimed at greater privilege for the Church. In important matters, the voice of the Church clearly diverges from the government's position. The Church advocated for accepting refugees. When the PiS government maintained the position that 'we will not accept a single one,' Archbishop Gądecki said that 'Jesus, not politicians, should indicate the direction on refugees,' and Caritas proposed a humanitarian corridor project that the government initially rejected. The Primate of Poland, Archbishop Wojciech Polak, clearly distanced himself from Jarosław Kaczyński's statement that 'outside the Church, there is only nihilism.' https://krytykapolityczna.pl/kraj/spiecie-nowa-konfederacja-rozdzial-panstwa-od-kosciola/ -- RAISING CONTRIBUTIONS IS NOT UNFAIR - WOJCIECH ORLIŃSKI ON WYBORCZA.PL: “I agree with Senator Warren's words. I have an appeal to successful people who would be hit in the pocket by the abolition of the ZUS contribution limit. Think about it, do you really owe everything solely to yourselves? Dear successful person: were you abandoned in a cabbage patch as an infant, from which you reached your current position entirely on your own (bypassing healthcare, public education, transport infrastructure, etc.)? If so, congratulations. Let's definitely arrange an interview, because I sense journalistic material here that could be a global sensation. However, if your biography looks more typical – you were born in a hospital, then school, then university, etc. – then society does have some share in your success. You owe it something. If society one day comes to collect its debt, it will be in line with my sense of justice. The same as Elizabeth Warren's (or the Nordic social democrats', etc.)”. https://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,25422295,podniesienie-skladek-emerytalnych-nie-kloci-sie-z-moim-poczuciem.html -- ON THE NAIVETY OF THE LEFT REGARDING PIS - ŁUKASZ PAWŁOWSKI ON KULTURA LIBERALNA: "The entry of the Left into the Sejm – and especially its young MPs, who know the pathologies of the current situation firsthand – gives hope for some thoughtful and comprehensive proposal to improve the pension system. Unfortunately, in this situation, some MPs behaved naively, suggesting that they could support the abolition of the thirty-fold limit in exchange for the introduction of a maximum pension. Naivety stems from at least three reasons. Firstly, the announced revenues would likely be one-off, as some Poles affected by the changes would flee to other forms of employment. Therefore, without other comprehensive changes, the reform is pointless. Secondly, it does not improve trust in the entire system, as there is much indication that PiS will use this money to plug current holes. How? It's simple – higher revenues to the Pension Insurance Fund mean a smaller budget subsidy covering the difference between contributions and expenses. And a smaller subsidy means more money in the budget for any expenses, for example, for… thirteenth pensions. Thirdly, and finally, PiS politicians would use the support of the Left for current political struggles, indicating that the party's ideas also have support among some of the opposition”. -- EVERYTHING IS REDUCED TO THE NAUSEATING SLOGAN WHO IS NOT WITH US IS WITH PIS - CONTINUES PAWŁOWSKI: “Tomasz Lis wrote that it is now being decided whether 'the Left is a hostage to the 'six' from the Razem party, who want to vote with PiS and effectively rob contributors of a large part of their pensions.' The level of these reactions fits well with the previous level of debate about the future of pensions for my generation. The system is inefficient, it will likely collapse soon, and anyone who can is scheming how to secure their old age privately – by taking out a mortgage for an additional apartment, borrowing money from family, or counting on a good inheritance of real estate. But when an opportunity arises to discuss what to do to prevent pension costs from consuming the state budget, a group of 50- and 60-year-olds reduces the entire problem to a boring and nauseating slogan: who is not with us, is with PiS! That's probably all Polish 'boomers' are capable of”. https://kulturaliberalna.pl/2019/11/19/emerytury-polska-pis-lewica-boomerzy/ -- MICHAŁ SUTOWSKI ON PIS'S TROUBLES WITH THE LEFT - WRITES IN KRYTYKA: “The condition for support from the Left for PiS's proposals can resolve three matters at once: open a debate on solidarity in the pension system, cause problems for Kaczyński, and show that there is a third force in the Sejm, capable of making politics on its own terms. Of course, if it can break through with its narrative the wall of the mentality of the late 90s”. -- SHOWING THE THIRD FORCE - CONTINUES SUTOWSKI: “The condition for support from the Left for PiS's proposals can resolve three matters at once: open a debate on solidarity in the pension system, cause problems for Kaczyński, and show that there is a third force in the Sejm, capable of making politics on its own terms. One right-wing portal asks 'what is happening?', and another – citing 'defenders of life' – directly demands a change in the committee's presidium. In a few months, the previously little-known Biejat has become one of the key opposition figures”. -- BECZEK ON BIEJAT, WHO IS NOT AFRAID OF CONSERVATIVE MEDIA: “The effects are immediately visible. In the second program, even the host Edyta Hołdyńska (Telewizja wPolsce) stated that she agrees with Biejat on some issues; at other times, Krzysztof Ziemiec on TVP admitted that when he tried to ridicule her, the politician 'cornered' him on the topic of feminine grammatical endings”. http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/7,114884,25421806,fenomen-magdaleny-biejat-jak-malo-znana-debiutantka-objela.html -- KOD WAS ESTABLISHED 4 YEARS AGO. -- BIRTHDAYS: Wojciech Duda, Elżbieta Kruk, Bogdan Wenta, Krzysztof Berenda.
