-- DISGUSTING HATE SPEECH AGAINST SYLWIA SPUREK - GW REPORTS: "You need to have your head shaved," "anti-Polish rag," "snitch, shut up already" – following a statement in the European Parliament, Sylwia Spurek was inundated with a wave of hate. The MEP asked the Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, what consequences the commission would draw against Poland in connection with the troll farm scandal.

-- HE TOOK PHOTOS NEAR THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR AND ADMINISTRATION - HE IS BEING HARASSED BY THE SERVICES - GAZETA STOŁECZNA: "The headquarters of the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Internal Security Agency are located at Rakowiecka Street in Mokotów. Stanisławiak has been there several times. He came again on August 23. – I took a few photos of service cars leaving the building. The head of the ministry, Mariusz Kamiński, might have been in one of them, but I'm not sure because the windows of the limousine were tinted – says the man. – About 30 minutes later, a police car arrived at the gate. The police officers checked my ID and asked what I was doing. I answered truthfully, they checked my details, and at the end, the officer smiled, said that all important people had already left, and advised me to go home. When the police officers left, four ABW agents approached me, and an SOP patrol car drove up from behind. Two armed officers got out. I pulled out my phone to record the whole action, but one of the agents snatched it away. I haven't got it back yet – the man recounts."

-- 4 PiS POLITICIANS DISCUSSED ON TVP LUBLIN - DZIENNIK WSCHODNI: "Four PiS politicians assessed the PiS government. The guests of the TVP Lublin director were: Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin, MP and Deputy Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Krzysztof Michałkiewicz, Lublin Voivode Przemysław Czarnek, and Deputy Marshal of the Voivodeship Dariusz Stefaniuk. All of them are running in the October parliamentary elections in our region."

-- PIS HAS BECOME SOMETHING LIKE A PARTY OF MODERATE PROGRESS WITHIN THE LAW - DR RAFAŁ CHWEDORUK IN SE: "From the increase in PiS's influence in local governments due to divisions among the opposition, to an excellent result in the European elections, we have seen its electorate expand. This has resulted in PiS becoming something like a 'party of moderate progress within the law.' Nothing would harm PiS more than an eruption of emotions. Even an eruption of seemingly positive emotions for PiS. Many of these voters who have gravitated towards PiS are people who dislike political extremes, dislike quarrels, and accept emotions, but only for a short while."
-- PIS DOES NOT NEED ANY COMMOTION; FOR THEM, IT WOULD BE BEST IF THE ELECTIONS WERE HELD THIS SUNDAY - CHWEDORUK CONTINUES: "PiS does not need any major debate in parliament just before the elections. The polls and trends within them are favorable to them. From their perspective, it would be best if the elections were held this Sunday, and perhaps by 'switching off' the Sejm sessions, they are shortening the campaign even further.

-- PIS DECLARED VICTORY IN COLLECTED SIGNATURES - Tomasz Żółciak, Grzegorz Osiecki in DGP: "According to Krzysztof Sobolewski, responsible for the PiS campaign, over a million voters signed the parliamentary lists for the Sejm, plus about half a million for the Senate. We have a better result than in 2015. We collected them in practically five days – he emphasizes. The opposition's results are much weaker. The Civic Coalition collected about 340,000 signatures for the Sejm lists."

-- SCHETYNA REALIZED THAT IF HE GIVES UP UJAZDOWSKI, HE WILL BE NEXT - WRITES MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ, ADDING ABOUT HYSTERICAL CELEBRITIES AND CELEBRITY WOMEN: "The Platform leader realized that if he gives up Ujazdowski, he will be next. And that if he were to assemble electoral lists dictated by hysterical celebrities and celebrity women, he would never win against PiS. At the same time, seeing that the PiS leader, with his radicalism and war against LGBT communities, is starting to irritate the moderate center, he decided to make an offer to this electorate himself. After the attack on the equality parade in Białystok, he did not get drawn into a bidding war with the left on progressive demands and gradually quieted down this issue. The topic even died down in Warsaw, which began an ideological war by signing the LGBT+ charter – recently, the authorities admitted that when it comes to education in the capital, everything remains as it was for now."

-- LESZCZYŃSKI: LEFT, SAVE YOUR STRENGTH TO FIGHT PIS. THE PLATFORM WILL COLLAPSE ON ITS OWN SOON - ADAM LESZCZYŃSKI IN KRYTYKA POLITYCZNA: "It is amusing and pleasant to trample on losing liberals. However, the Left should save its strength for the real opponent in these elections – PiS. PO is in a state of mental and organizational collapse. We need to ensure it stays alive, not seek easy satisfaction."
-- LESZCZYŃSKI ON THE MENTAL HORIZON OF PO POLITICIANS: "The package of programs gives some idea of the mental horizon of PO leaders. It's a collection of inconsistent proposals from all over the place: starting with free internet for young people (hello, Earth to Platform – this could have been popular in 2001) to a complex system of wage subsidies that no one understands. Lack of energy, lack of self-belief, amateur organization – all this bodes a dramatic electoral defeat for PO."
-- THE PLATFORM HAS ALREADY LOST - LESZCZYŃSKI'S CONCLUSION: "It neglects the entire sphere of public services, especially education and healthcare. I won't even mention the clericalization of the state and nationalist indoctrination conducted by the state: anyone with open eyes and ears cannot escape it. So, Left, save your strength. The Platform has already lost. At this moment, Schetyna's party is a bankrupt entity looking for a receiver. Don't kick the losers – especially since there are no other allies in the fight for a democratic Poland. PiS is the real enemy here."
-- SCHETYNA STILL AT THE TOP OF THE DISTRUST RANKING: "A confidence poll conducted by CBOS shows not only who Poles trust but also who evokes distrust in them. The leaders of this unenviable ranking are jointly Janusz Korwin-Mikke and Grzegorz Schetyna, who are distrusted by as much as 50% of respondents. One can therefore say that the leader of the Civic Coalition, trusted by only 24% of respondents, made a good decision by stepping back and promoting Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska as a candidate for Prime Minister. The CBOS poll also shows that politicians from the United Right evoke extreme emotions in Poles, and many people do not trust politicians who were leaders in the confidence poll, including Jarosław Kaczyński (39%), Beata Szydło (38%), and Zbigniew Ziobro (37%)."

-- PIS SUSPENDS THE SEJM - HEADLINE IN GW (J.Dobrosz-Oracz, A.Kondzińska, P. Wroński, D. Wielowieyska): "However, some MPs from the ruling camp admit that the suspension of the Sejm was a mistake. It has raised a series of suspicions and may mobilize opposition supporters. – There are no subtexts. The aim is to deprive the opposition of a forum for three days of attacks on the government. Besides, we will have two more days for direct campaigning, in which we are in full swing, and the opposition is faltering – says a politician from the ruling camp."

-- PARLIAMENTARY BREAK BY THE ELECTORAL PARTY IS LEGAL, ALBEIT PRECEDENT-SETTING - headline in DGP.
-- IN THE STRONGHOLDS OF PIS, SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS ARE AMAZED AND FURIOUS - HEADLINE OF MAŁOPOLSKA DZIENNIK WSCHODNI.
-- GRZEGORZ OSIECKI IN DGP ON HOW THE EXAMPLE OF ZUS SHOWS HOW PRECISE PARTY COMMUNICATION SHOULD BE - WE DIDN'T MAKE A FUSS ABOUT IT - writes about DGP's approach: "Therefore, all calculations heroically showing how much ZUS individuals with an income of PLN 10,000 or multiples thereof will pay can, at least for now, be put aside. And that is why, after PiS issued its statement, we inquired about its details and did not make a fuss about it."

-- ZUZANNA DĄBROWSKA ON SPECULATION REGARDING THE SEJM BREAK - IT MIGHT BE ABOUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL TRIBUNAL - writes in RZ: "Speculations in the corridors did not cease throughout Wednesday. Some suspect that it might be about the replacement of Constitutional Tribunal judges, which would be an ideal conclusion to the outgoing term, the first part of which was marked by battles over the Tribunal. In December, the terms of three more judges expire, and these are judges who do not fit the PiS composition of the Tribunal and the views of its head, Julia Przyłębska. Will PiS do what PO once did and elect judges 'on the fly,' in case they lack a few votes after the elections? After they themselves unleashed a war over this and politicized the Tribunal? All these are just speculations by MPs. Moreover, they are only relevant if PiS does not gain an independent majority after the elections and has trouble forming a government in the next term, which does not seem likely. However, the decision to take a break may indicate serious concerns about the outcome of the elections by the current ruling camp."

-- THE SHADOW OF MARTIAL LAW - MAREK BEYLIN IN GW: "Has PiS truly taken such a step? It is hard for me to believe that Jarosław Kaczyński is ready to provoke a civil war in the style of Maidan. Because confiscating the elections would lead to that. However, PiS's actions have proven the reality of radical suspicions more than once. Therefore, the leadership of this party, especially Kaczyński himself, should clearly declare that they are not considering martial law and will accept the potential loss of their majority. Otherwise, the shadow of martial law will follow PiS throughout the campaign."

-- PIS STUMBLES OVER ZUS - DOMINIKA WIELOWIEYSKA IN GW: "As long as PiS promised money mainly from the budget, there was no problem. Now it has started promising further gifts at the expense of a specific social group. And it seems to have scared itself with potential losses in the parliamentary elections, given how energetically it is backtracking on the message of Saturday's convention."
http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,25181910,preze.html
-- JACEK ŻAKOWSKI ON THE FACT THAT PIS SOMETIMES HAS SOUND IDEAS: "This does not mean, however, that everything PiS says in this state is foolish. There are sound ideas. This was the case, for example, with the minimum hourly wage or 500 plus. PiS was right in these matters, not its fervent critics. It's worth remembering this when the leader has suddenly announced a leap in the minimum wage."
-- I WOULDN'T LAUGH AT 4000 - ŻAKOWSKI CONTINUES: "If I were a serious politician or economist, I wouldn't laugh at Kaczyński's 4000 plus. I would treat it as a warning. And I would advise entrepreneurs to invest heavily in their companies' productivity, because otherwise, after the wage shock, foreign competition will crush them, and employees will leave. Wages must rise radically not because Kaczyński wants them to, but because demographic, social, and geopolitical processes are leading to this."
