-- AGNIESZKA HOLLAND ON PIOTR GLIŃSKI'S INTERVIEW FOR 300POLITYKA: “This film will open the Gdynia festival, and the current Minister of Culture, who is not my supporter – he even said in one of his successful interviews that I should be excluded from the Judeo-Christian community – admitted that he heard my film is the most PiS-like film made last year,” she said during a meeting with viewers. The director wondered why her work was received this way. According to her, "Mr. Jones" could have "contributed to an attempt to change parliamentary history," if not for the author's name. "Because the celebration of the memory of the cursed soldiers begins, including those who murdered Jews, communists, or Ukrainians and Belarusians after the war. Because the commemorations, under the presidential patronage of the memory of the Świętokrzyska Brigade, the only Polish formation that collaborated with Hitler during World War II but was anti-communist, are suddenly starting," the director explained”.

-- HEAD OF GERMAN MFA ENCOURAGINGLY ABOUT POLAND'S ROLE: “German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas believes that the German-French tandem is too weak to lead the EU. In his opinion, Poland should join the circle of countries responsible for Europe's future. Regardless of who governs it. "We must grant countries like Spain and Italy in the South, and Poland in the East, greater responsibility than before, using innovative new formats to do so," Maas said”.

-- PIS HAS BECOME A CENTRIST PARTY, I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE MY BIT - KRZYSZTOF MAZUR IN AN INTERVIEW WITH ŁUKASZ PAWŁOWSKI IN KULTURA LIBERALNA: “Firstly, one matures to such a decision. It is an element of personal history. Secondly, many of my friends have carried out constructive state-changing projects over the last four years: they are building Baltic Pipe, the Łukasiewicz Research Network, introducing innovation reliefs, and computerizing schools. I cheered them on in these endeavors. Now I want to add my bit to the reformist wing. Thirdly, there is a generational change thread in the United Right. There are 25 out of 41 new 'ones' on the Sejm lists. Many of them are young people. Fourthly, after the European Parliament elections, it turned out that PiS has become a centrist party. Although we probably differ in assessment here…”
-- MAZUR ON BUILDING COMMUNITIES ONLINE: “For example, in the approach to the media. I would like to show in this campaign how important a communication tool a smartphone and YouTube can be. Older generation politicians think that radio and television appearances are paramount. I do not underestimate this, but hardly any senator tries to build a community around themselves”.
-- ŚPIEWAK IN THE SPIRIT OF KOR - MAZUR CONTINUES: “What I like about Janek Śpiewak is precisely the fact that he is more in the spirit of KOR (Workers' Defence Committee), not someone who just sits and theorizes. If viewed from this perspective, the last 17 years of my life suggest that starting seems a natural course of events. I wasn't an impartial commentator before, but I tried to change reality according to certain ideals. And now I will try to do the same as a senator”.
-- MAZUR ON THE ACTIVE ROLE OF A SENATOR - POINTS TO STAROŃ AND NAPIERALSKI: “These are the three main challenges facing Krakow today. I would like to highlight them locally, draw systemic conclusions, and seek solutions at the central level. And the act on the performance of the parliamentary and senatorial mandate provides opportunities for intervention at the local level. Just as Andrzej Kamiński from PiS does, Lidia Staroń – an independent senator from Olsztyn – or Grzegorz Napieralski, who takes on dozens of issues, starting from local transport in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, through bridge construction and hospital conditions, to wind energy and judicial reform. There are senators who know how to use their powers – and I would like to refer to that”.

-- MAGDA ŚRODA ON UJAZDOWSKI'S CANDIDACY WRITES TO SCHETYNA IN GW: “Neither Joanna Fabisiak nor Kazimierz Ujazdowski, to mention only the most important church figures on your lists, will bring you voters, on the contrary, they will discourage many; because citizens, on whom one can count not only in this election, but in the long run, crave modernity, rationality, openness, not the promise of salvation through the fight against LGBT”.

-- PIS VOTERS STAND SOLIDLY BEHIND ZIOBRO - DGP AND RMF SURVEY, BUT ALSO IBRIS: “Supporters of the ruling party assess that the scandal in the ministry most burdens the judicial community (42%). And only 10% of them believe that Ziobro should resign”.

-- MORAWIECKI THE FIREMAN IN PIS - AGATON KOZIŃSKI IN WP: “PiS is unable to get out of the political impasse after the scandal surrounding Łukasz Piebiak. Mateusz Morawiecki is trying to present himself as a politician who can help weather the difficult period. Strikingly, only Morawiecki is trying to emerge positively from this situation. In the last few days, he alone has put forward ideas that have allowed at least a partial diversion from the ruling camp's problems. This is the aforementioned "VATman". This is the announcement of subsidies for farmers affected by drought. Finally, it is the skillfully released leak on Monday morning that the 2020 budget may be balanced, without a deficit”.

-- MORAWIECKI'S POSITION IS GROWING STRONGER - MARCIN FIJOŁEK: “And in the campaign, Prime Minister Morawiecki's presence is ceasing to be something entirely unnatural – the head of government is coping better and better, and his consistent focus on visits to Silesia (in the constituency he is running from) may translate into a good result for the entire ruling camp. Silesia, from the perspective of electoral results – just like farmers – may turn out to be one of the key components summing up the assessment of the entire campaign and PiS's result. The prime minister's growing position and the accumulation of small and larger successes mean that, with just over 40 days until the elections, the head of government is becoming one of the strongest cards that Law and Justice is presenting today. If the PiS camp wins a second term, it will also – and perhaps above all – be thanks to Morawiecki's daily efforts (both visible and behind-the-scenes)”.

-- LEWICA'S STRONG PROGRAM - ARKADIUSZ GRUSZCZYŃSKI IN GW: “The program presented on Saturday includes everything that should be in a social democratic offer. Namely, climate protection and women's rights, the postulate of introducing registered partnerships and reducing queues to doctors, as well as increasing the budget allocated to healthcare. There are medicines for five zlotys and salary increases for public sector employees. Lewica wants to build nurseries and housing, introduce the possibility of abortion up to the twelfth week, and abolish the Church Fund”.

-- LEWICA WANTS TO TAKE "SOCIAL" FROM PIS AND "MODERNITY" FROM KO - ŁUKASZ ROGOJSZ IN GAZETA.PL: “Lewica wants to reclaim "social" from PiS and "modernity" from Platforma Obywatelska. The program is just a tool. From the shape of the program and the course of the program convention, it can be inferred that Lewica will not stop at pointing out PiS's neglect and mistakes. It will also aim to maximally reduce Civic Coalition's share of the left-wing electorate. To prove that it is not enough to bring a few well-known left-wing faces on board (Barbara Nowacka, Katarzyna Piekarska, Małgorzata Tracz, Riad Haidar) to represent left-wing values and implement a left-wing program. The facts are that out of typically left-wing postulates, Civic Coalition only promises the legalization of registered partnerships. However, even here, due to Platforma's numerous past neglects, it is not entirely credible”.
-- LEWICA HAS NO COMPETITION IN THE RACE FOR THE PROGRESSIVE ELECTORATE - ROGOJSZ CONTINUES: “At the same time, Lewica has no competition in this area, because neither Civic Coalition, nor Koalicja Polska (PSL and Kukiz'15), nor certainly the United Right will adopt such postulates. Biedroń, Czarzasty, and Zandberg are therefore the sole custodians of bold, progressive worldview postulates. The electorate favoring such an offer will either vote for them, or not at all”.

-- POLAND NEEDED REFORM, BUT NOT ONE WHERE ŁĄCZEWSKICH ARE REPLACED BY PIEBIAKOWIE - ŁUKASZ WARZECHA IN WP: “The tragedy is that Poland greatly needed judicial reform, but not one where Łączewski is replaced by Piebiak. Meanwhile, it appears that this is what the matter has ultimately come down to. We saw through the slightly opened door that there is a ruthless war going on within the community itself, but it is not about making the judiciary work better, more efficiently, that judges meeting the highest ethical standards adjudicate, that victims, witnesses, and the accused feel treated seriously, that citizens do not wait months for another hearing. It is only about 'either us or them'”.
-- WHAT WAS THE REFORM ABOUT IF NOT EFFICIENCY? - WARZECHA'S CONCLUSION: “How many debates do you recall about changes to the codes of criminal and civil procedure, which are fundamentally important for the smooth conduct of proceedings? And how many times have not so much debates, but rather drunken brawls, concerned who would fill the new National Council of the Judiciary or sit in the new chambers of the Supreme Court? Exactly. Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Gowin stated that further judicial reform, during a potential second term of PiS, should focus more on organizational matters, determining whether courts operate efficiently and quickly. One can therefore ask: what was it about until now then?”

-- TOMASZ BIELECKI ON THE EC LINEUPS: “Ultimately, 13 countries (including Poland, Greece, Belgium) have proposed male candidates to date, and 9 countries (including Bulgaria, Sweden, Estonia) have put forward female candidates, which, together with von der Leyen, gives a ratio of 13 men to 10 women. The chances of achieving gender balance are therefore very high thanks to double candidacies from Portugal and Romania, as well as decisions from France and Italy that are still unresolved regarding who to propose for the new European Commission. This, together with von der Leyen, will number 27 people (currently the full composition is 28 people), because London has already officially declared that, due to the upcoming Brexit, it does not intend to propose anyone for the position due to the British EU Commissioner”.

-- PIOTR SKWIROWSKI ON THE FRONT PAGE OF RZ ABOUT THREE CANDIDATES FOR MINISTER OF FINANCE: “Tadeusz Kościński, Leszek Skiba, and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki are the most serious candidates for head of the ministry – according to information from 'Rzeczpospolita'”.

-- BUDGET WITHOUT DEFICIT FOR NOW - Anna Cieślak-Wróblewska in RZ: “So, another miracle may happen in 2020, namely a budget without a deficit. However, there is one 'but'. It may be possible thanks to so-called one-off revenues, i.e., one-time income, and a significant limitation of expenditures other than those already promised, for example, for education, teacher pay raises, or health. And since this is the case, it may turn out that later, in 2021, the deficit will return, and the miracle, although it will happen, will only be for a moment”.
